Apple Cider Vinegar

My daughter had a rash all over her skin a week ago for the first time and since we knew that she has sensitive skin and has had rashes in her neck area before, we simply put it down to something she ate and basically said it would go away. That was until it started itching last Saturday and then stopped. During the week it didn't itch much so we paid it mild attention and simply moisturized her skin. Today, a week later she cried and cried and complained for the itchy skin, just when her doctor's office was closed. We moisturized with thick cetaphil lotion believing that the more we put on, the more moisturized her skin would become and the itching would stop. She cried until 12:00 a.m. until I decided to check this site and used apple cider vingar simply put on her skin. She continued to cry for another five or so minutes, then I diluted it in some warm water and based it on her skin again. IMMEDIATELY and almost simultaneously she stopped crying and went asleep. I now believe in apple cider vinegar. Not only will I be sure to get her and her siblings an allergy test, but I will the first to use it if met with a similar problem again. Thank you for posting this site!

Neem Oil

I have been plaqued by all kinds of symptoms and just recently discovered it is most likely candida. I had rashes, hives, prickles, body hot flashes, allergic feeling, sneezing, weird smell coming from body. When my rashes dry out I get dandruff like white dust (a sign of fungi) and this is when it starts to heal up - before that rash just about made me leap through the roof.

I started to use Neem oil. I put a few drops in water and because I don't have a bath put it on container and then dribble it over my body. I rub it in at last point in shower so it doesn't wash off then get out and let it dry. I don't put any creams on just dry.

I have been using it for about a week and so far the rash has almost gone - i don't itch nearly as much, no more hives, or prickles unless I get over hot.

I am also going to add in betonite clay/psyillum. Spices I crave but they may create too fast die off because I get really hot and itchy after I eat them.

I recommed Neem (some of the other oils I get reactions too but i'm fine with neem). Will you keep you posted - I can tell I have overgrowth in throat (not in mouth) and I guess probably just about everywhere. I am also going to try find some leaves to put in warm water and soak - or chew on.

Sulfur and Fish Oil

I had small, red patches and spots around my eyes that wouldn't go away after 3 or 4 months. I assumed I was reacting to something, developing new allergies perhaps. I've never had eczema. I didn't want to go to a dermatologist, as I assumed I'd be prescribed anti-biotics and/or steroid creams, etc. NO THANKS!

There's a very long story here, but to make it short, I went to a homeopathic doctor who recommended sulphur (small homeopathic tablets--cheap) and fish oil. Never found out what caused the inflammation, but the strange dry, red patches cleared up within 3 days and haven't returned since (over 2 months). Hope this helps someone who was as frustrated as I was! Peace, Isabella

Milk of Magnesia

My friend told me about Milk of Magnesia for burns. When her daughter was little she has rashes so bad on her bottom that she had to leave on the diaper quite often because of her acidity level in her urine. One day her mother was watching her and she told her mother to be very careful because of the rash. She left for a few hours and when she came home the rash was gone. She had applied Milk of Magnesia directly on her granddaughter and not long after the skin rash was gone.

My friend also told me about using it on burns, so I have tried it. My daughter and I have both burned our hands so I tried it and it worked. You need to soak it near an hour but it leaves no red marks and it feels better.

dermatitis herpetiformis & ACV: i was struck by repeated bouts of what a dermatologist diagnosed as herpes zoster or shingles. Went through a valtrex treatments each time the rashes appeared on my arms and legs. slowly emerging and very itchy bumps that would, over two weeks, become clear liquid-filled bumps. i suspected it had to do with infected scratches from dog toenails, as i was working with rescue dogs. lo and behold, it was - and my sister, a doctor across the country, had suspected dermatitis hep the whole time. it was much later that i stumbled upon ACV as an excellent cure that speeds up the cycle of the rash. i soak a gauze square with it and tape it to the affected area changing it in the morning and at night. such a relief to have a non-med cure! also, i have found that if i wash the scratched area immediately with anti-bacterial soap, it can prevent the rashes.:)

Over a year ago I got some skin disorder from wearing dirty gloves. I ended up with about 10 patches on my hand where the skin would constantly peel off. I tried all sorts of moisterisers, then I had positive results from fungle creams and lotions but still kept coming back.So the Doctor was next, His medication never worked either. Then a bloke I know who proclaims to be an Alchemist said "Half water, half apple cider vinegar in a squirter bottle. Spray on the hands a couple of times a day. Plus drink a cap full". And wulla, its gone. Apparently it evens out the PH levels in the skin. I advise to use natural oils (eg. Coconut) to moisterise the skin also. Now to see if it can cure my reflux.

I break out in hives from food allergies. The last rash of hives was very bad and would stop itching so I rub AVC on it and it burned but the itching stopped and the rash wash gone in about a week. I also have herpes so I though I would try it on a sore and again the itch disappeared and the sore healed in two days. Next I am going to try drinking it and hopefully it will help prevent the allergies and outbreaks. I applied the AVC twice a day with a cotton ball.

Blackstrap Molasses, ACV

This past Sunday around 8:00 a.m. I found an ugly, red rash on the upper part of my left leg. It was the size of a half-dollar. I had already decided to start taking a mixture of molasses, acv, and baking soda for my arthritis. I started that morning at 9:00 a.m. with about 1 tsp. molasses, 1 tbs. acv, and a pinch of baking soda in a glass of warm water. At 10:00 a.m. my husband gave me an anti-fungal creme for my rash. But, to my surprise the ugly, scaly rash was gone. The only thing I did in that two hour period was drink the molasses, acv, and b. soda. I can't believe it. I will continue to use this "tonic" for my arthritis and see what happens with that. I love this website and learn something new everyday.

Do you have a ratio of pepper to oil? And it sounds like it would burn with the pepper...does it?

Apple Cider Vinegar

I have "suffered" for more than 15 years with red, scaley, itchy scalp. It's so embarrassing. I have tried all kinds of shampoo: with salicylic acid, zinc, ketoconazole, coal tar, selenium sulfide. I finally gave in and bought a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar. Last night, I poured some over my head and rubbed some on my face, since it was really red, itchy and flaky too. The smell was horrendous! Thank goodness my family was asleep! I watched a little tv and after the ACV dried, I then washed my face and scalp. I could not believe the difference. This morning, I look nearly "normal". No flakes, and almost no redness. And no smell either! Who would have thought that a few dollar's worth of apple cider vinegar would work? On a related note, I used a little diluted ACV on my daughter's diaper rash and the next day it was cleared up! I am going to start taking ACV internally next week after I get some litmus strips to test my internal pH. Thank you so much.

ACV used half & half with honey makes a very good cough syrup which will also cure strep. When my 3 youngest children got chickenpox at the same time, the older and younger to the 3 were faring much better than the middle one who kept running a fever. The next morning he had classic scarlet fever rash in groin to explain why. Yep, ACV / honey mixture to the rescue - I gave all 3 a tsp. every two hours or so. Next morning the ones rash in groin was decreased, and the other 2 never got it. I kept them on it for a couple more days.

After hospitals dis- covered they were spreading pseudomonas aurugenosis (?) via the oxygen equipment, they removed this "hospital scourge infection" by soaking the equipment in 1 part vinegar - 7 parts water, so who knows what else it will cure.

I was so surprised to hear that blackstrap molasses is actually good for your health. When I was a small child we ate it as a treat with warm biscuits. I used to love it. After I read this I decided to try it on warm rye crisp bread today. It tastes great. And amazingly, a few hours after eating it I noticed that this ugly skin rash I had is completely cleared up and my skin looks great.

Mylanta

I have found Mylanta poured on a bottom clears up diaper rash over night, as well as soreness from diahrea. My dr. told me about this when my now 3 yr old was 8 months old...I've used it ever since. When baby has severe rash from diahrea simply put them in the sink or tub w/ just enough water to cover bottom and add mylanta...let them soak for a bit, then pat dry pour in diaper and let them go to bed...will be nearly to completely gone by morning.

Ginger Root

I use ginger to prevent this horrific rash. I juice a pound of root into a couple dozen mini ice cubes and plop them into my teas, soups, sauces, stews, etc. I am curious that only the yellow ginger root works and not the brown ginger. Would appreciate feedback on the difference between the two types. I've had the rash for over ten years. Just discovered the ginger remedy over a year ago. I have appr. twenty pounds(pre-juice weight) of frozen ginger cubes in my freezer because I am such a strong believer in it's power to keep my horrific rash in check.

Raw Honey for diaper rashes: my grandfather used to raise honey bees, and sell the honey. my mother used the raw honey on diaper rashes. it was all that ever touched the bums of my three younger sisters. she had a small container of it in the diaper bag, and some q-tips to apply it. i love telling people about this. they don't believe me, but a few have tried it.

Homeopathy
Posted by Vera (Colorado) on 01/23/2025

Jr, your husband is wise not to want to do more steroids. When they are used for eczema, they often cause a rebound that is worse than the previous rash.

Eczema is most often a reaction to some irritant. Washing the skin with natural soap and avoiding detergents and fabric softeners is key because they damage the skin barrier. Then apply ointment to keep the skin moist. (Plant-based detergents that are free and clear are usually ok.)

Hot water will kill the itch for several hours to provide full relief and speed up healing.

In case the irritant is coming from something he ate, it is helpful to add pancreatic enzymes to meals. Keep us posted!
