I have had pityriasis for over a year now, it's not as bad as it was for the first 10 months, but they just keep popping up. Sunlight seems to help more than anything I've tried, I've also tried laying under a black light with some luck.

I didn't notice enough written about allergies. My mother had a bad rash around her ankles and we made an appointment with the allergy doctor. He walked into the room and said, "Take psyllium husk!" It worked like magic. The rash was gone in days. She was always prone to food allergies but this easy solution was a big surprise and took care of her constipation problems as well.
I use 1 Tbl a day of it now for large intestine spasms and it has helped. These comments have been helpful because I see other ways it has helped me as well. I don't know if I'm addicted to it but sure don't want to be without it! Those spasms are pretty disabling as long as they last. If I combined it with ANYthing else, I'd blame the other thing before the psyllium husk, let alone any kind of CLAY! There is nothing natural about putting that into our bodies! And I've learned the importance of enough water as well!
I had a red raised itchy rash. I tried all the stuff dermatologist suggested.none of it worked. I went home and put some 1 teaspoon sea salt in about a cup of really warm water, so the salt dissolves. Then I took a shower right before getting out. I poured the salt water over the rash let that part of my body just air dry and the rash was gone within three days.
Selenium Sulfate for skin fungus problems.
I tried using a dandruff shampoo with the active ingredient selenium sulfide 1% or more on my heat rash on my legs and foot and am amazed at how well it works. I spread the shampoo on my affected areas, let it set a while as I go about other things, like brushing my teeth and shaving, then step into the shower to rinse it all off. Each day I am seeing marked improvement.
In my particular case I am using head and shoulders shampoo. It seems to be helping the fingernail fungus I have on the hand I use to apply the shampoo to the other areas. For what it's worth. I was inspired to try this as I saw people on youtube who were using selenium sulfate shampoos for other skin problems and having good results.
I thought what I had was poison oak, but it wouldn't go away. It was an inexplicable rash that came right up to the outside corner of my eye with little irritating, nearly invisible, itchy bumps. I did a search online, and found someone else who had done cortisone and all sorts of other silly doctor prescribed medicines and then finally tried washing the area with soap, drying it, and then applying hydrogen peroxide. Worked for him. Worked for me. The bumps dried up, my skin got scaly, and then it went away.
Carbicarb remedy which is a solution for many symptoms!! I had painful red itchy hands with pimples after working in the garden and i took 1/4 teaspoon of soda crystals (baking soda and sodium bicarbonate) in a glass of water the trademark is Tricel, made in the Netherlands, and in one hour the symptoms were gone. I also had running nose and the soda crystals dried my nose. My nose sometimes gets blocked and with daily use of soda crystals can return your nose to its normal condition and opened sinuses. Soda crystals does a lot! It helps my mother sleep easily, it alkalises your brain, helps your hypothalamus and help your exhausted adrenal glands to recover. This remedy and advice i got from Ted, he advised me to take daily soda crystals with a lot of water... It is helping my thyroid problem as well as i have hypothyroidism. I hope it will clean my liver too from the fats and clean it like it cleans a dirty plate. Thanx Ted for the great help you give with your advice as always. You are the best website!!! And Ted is the best! What do we do without Ted? What do we do without Earthclinic? We would probably die.. I am telling everyone i know how great Earthclinic is and they are checking your site.
Thought I had Ring worm. NO!
I had skin irritations on my left hand and the irritation look just like Ringworm, the rash was in pink rings! So I thought it was ringworm. Even my elbow developed a perfect ring around the elbow itself. And since I feed stray cats and help or spay them if they need help I thought I may have gotten ring worm from one of the cats. (They didn't seem to have ringworm).
Well the irritation was frustrating (as usual) and I tried products at the pharmacy for Ringworm.
The nice Pharmacist recommended Tinactin.
The spray powder seemed to work best! But this treatment would only seem to help soothe not rid me of the rash. The rash only seemed to become dormant. And then it would return? And there were other new spots?
This only happened to one hand and limb. My right hand and limb was rash free. Then I thought maybe it was something other than Ringworm.
It also itched like crazy and when only Calamine lotion would stop the itching I then realized the rash might be something else and not ringworm. I have Stinging Nettle weed on my property (and I do weed) and I started putting Calamine lotion on the rash and noticed that I could pull little barbs out of my skin! Some of what I pulled out seemed like little wires on my elbow!
I was able to allow the Calamine lotion to dry and then I could pull little barbs out of my skin!
Prid salve for splinters also works. You place this or even Mentholatum or Vaseline on the rash, work it in and the barbs or stingers can be pulled out. I'm nearly free of the ring rash now. But it was not Ringworm.
I had small, red patches and spots around my eyes that wouldn't go away after 3 or 4 months. I assumed I was reacting to something, developing new allergies perhaps. I've never had eczema. I didn't want to go to a dermatologist, as I assumed I'd be prescribed anti-biotics and/or steroid creams, etc. NO THANKS!
There's a very long story here, but to make it short, I went to a homeopathic doctor who recommended sulphur (small homeopathic tablets--cheap) and fish oil. Never found out what caused the inflammation, but the strange dry, red patches cleared up within 3 days and haven't returned since (over 2 months). Hope this helps someone who was as frustrated as I was! Peace, Isabella
I have wrestled with the same rash since I was 15. I am now, 45. In my late 20's I discovered through my derm that I had PMLE Polymorphic Light Erruption. Which is silly b/c I am olive skinned and spanish. Nonethess, she did a skin biopsy and it reacted. I suggest you ask for a biopsy and see.
If so, you have two choices: hardening or staying away from the sun. I chose to harden. against most people's opinion I tan just a bit all year long. This way, my skin keeps just enough melatonin close to the surface and can protect me from the rash. I also use 30 sunscreen when I am in the beach and my recent favorite is Beach Bum.
Good luck. I hope my notes give you early relief. Believe me, my struggle has been horrible. Too many ruined vacations and a honeymoon.
Sun Rash Remedies
Regarding a rash after exposure to the sun. My mother in law had this for years and my son inherited it also.
Fortunately I had a good pediatrician and he supplied the remedy. It is a B complex vitamin deficiency causing it...according to the good Dr.
His prescription: eat more protein (he said meat) and because it was a genetic thing, also take a liquid B-12 B complex vitamin under the tongue each morning. The body also needs vitamin C to process the B vitamins properly. We used Emergency C as couldn't find a B-12 combo that included vitamin C.
Results? Son and Mother in Law cured. Living in the sunshine state (Florida) this was a blessing for her.
Something to think about.
Sun Rash Remedies
I've searched everywhere but I can't find any threads that match my heat rash. It only happens when I've caught the sun, then two days later I come up in a nasty bumpy really itchy rash which seems to have fluid in the bumps. I've tried everything but nothing works, I'm sure its related to Candida though. Anyone have any ideas?? Many thanks.

Oral remedy for candida rash and/or athlete's foot
I had developed a candida rash and the doctor's medicines weren't doing any good. So I went to the health food store and found a product to take by mouth containing caprylic acid, pau d'arco, grapefruit seed extract and tea tree oil. I only took half the recommended dosage every day and the rash was gone gone within a week. As a bonus, it also killed the athlete's foot on the tops of my feet and big toes I had been fighting for seven months.
Being a nurse I am often times discouraged with the whole medical model here in the US. I decided to try this websites' homeopathic remedy of turmeric. It was an absolute success story in 4 days use, 2 times/day!
My daughter has had a rash which began on her upper thighs and buttocks, flesh colored, no real pattern, very itchy, for several months. The scratching was driving her crazy at night! She has seen the doctor on 3 separate occasions, expensive prescriptions, oral steroids, cream steroids, antibiotics, all to no avail. The rash has spread to her stomach, arms, chest and scalp. We were at our wits end! This has been going on for about 6 months.
I had some turmeric in my spice cabinet and thought what the heck, it can't hurt. It absolutely healed the entire rash! We mixed 1 tsp in a small glass of water, about 3-4 ounces, twice a day. I was amazed, surprised and thankful for this remedy. It has affirmed my beliefs in homeopathic medicines.
After some investigation but without a real pathology result, I believe the skin infection is MRSA related. This decade has seen an enormous increase in staph aureus and I believe it infiltrated her skin in some way.
Anyway, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART EARTH CLINIC!!
