This really works! I recently had surgery and was prescribed painkillers to help ease the discomfort. I've been able to get by without taking them for a week now, but last night my pain was unbearable so I decided to take half of the pill. Well, about an hour after I took it, I became incredibly nauseous. I ended up vomiting a couple times which I thought would help make me feel better because it usually does, but I still felt nauseous. So when I could finally get myself to the computer, I went to this website for a remedy. When I saw alcohol packets help, I grabbed one from my medicine cabinet, opened it up and began sniffing it. You would think that sniffing alcohol would make the nausea worse, which is to say that it didn't exactly feel good to inhale that first sniff, but after a minute or two, my queasiness subsided. I couldn't believe it. This will definitely be my go to nausea remedy from now on!

Wow, can't believe how fast this works! My daughter was complaining of nausea tonight and I read about this on EC. We didn't have any alcohol swabs, so I just poured some rubbing alcohol into a small cup and let her sniff it. She said she felt better almost immediately! Thank you!

I was fascinated to come across this post as I just had surgery last week, and became very nauseated afterwards. My sweet nurse put an ice pack on my neck and gave me the alcohol swap packet to sniff because she said it helps lots of people. I couldn't believe how well it squelched the waves of nausea!

I developed nausea about 1.5 hours after eating dinner and tried using the alcohol swab suggestion after reading it. I had immediate relief of what I thought was going to turn into a lot more than just the nausea. I feel 100% better now. I love this site.

Diandra, what was it that caused your nausea?

I have no idea. For a few days I got nauseous every time I ate. It eventually went away.

Have you been checked for Lactose Intolerance? No one could figure out my nausea/diarrhea after eating. Years ago I diagnosed myself by reading about someone just like me in a popular little health magazine. Turns out allergic to dairy products, ..which I learned I can still eat as long as I take Lactaid Pills. Spent years trying to figure out what the problem was. Lots of stomach pains! Solved it all by reading that article and a ten dollar bottle of pills! I feel for anyone who does not know about this and is going through what I went through. I love this site. It has helped me so much.

Nausea Cure: I have had a few surgeries in the past 20 years and each time I would wake from the anesthesia I would be extremely nauseous. Vomiting after surgery is never a pleasant experience. Last year I underwent 3 treatments in as many days from my chiropractor, Manipulation Under Anesthesia. I wasn't thrilled at the thought of waking up 3 days in a row and vomiting post-anesthesia.

On the second day as they were wheeling me out to my waiting daughter the nurse saw me turning green and she handed me an alcohol packet. She tore it open and said sniff this. I could barely comprehend but I did sniff and it was amazing. The urge to be sick left me immediately. She sent several more of those little packets home with me for the long drive back to my house and I did not get sick once.

This was a first for me to not vomit post-surgery. I haven't tried it for any other types of nausea or motion sickness, only after anesthesia but it's worth a try if you are nauseated for whatever reason.

EC: Alcohol packet = alcohol swabs sold in drugstores (wound care section) ,which contain 70% isopropyl alcohol. If you mean something else, please let us know!

I have found that high alkaline water is a godsend for nausea. The best part is that it tastes just like regular water. It is available at any health food store and my brother and I have found that it settles our stomachs greatly. I highly recommend it.

This website has helped me on a lot of issues. I decided to give ACV a try. I could have written the post about belching and nausea from breakfast, to dinner, and to bed. This time papaya tablets would not work. Neither did rubbing alcohol, but the vinegar, YES. I am back to being a happy camper.

I had been a bit drained and tired all day. About an hour ago I was shakey, a bit nauseous and weak. I sent my bf out to get me some apple juice. The moment I had 1 cup of apple juice and 2 TBL spoons of ACV, i felt INSTANT relief. I was definitely not expecting it. My bf had food poisoning or some kind of stomach bug over the past day and I was scared I might get it too. I went ahead and took the concoction and I feel fine besides the heartburn which will reside in a few minutes. I dont have as much gas in my stomach and my shakiness has lessened. :) I hope I had enough liquid with the ACV since this is my first time trying it.

Editor's Choice About 6 months ago, I suddenly woke up with severe nausea and constant burping. Everything I ate and drank made me feel sick. I woke up nautious and went to bed nat ious every day. My quality of life started changing. I did not want to go out anymore and do things because I constantly felt sick. Being newly engaged, this really put a damper on my relationship. Who wants to be around someone that feels sick everyday and to be honest..when you are sick everyday you reach a point where you just want to be alone. I am only 27 years old and I felt like I had put on 10 years or more in the last 6 months. I even told my mother if I had to live the rest of my life like this I might kill myself. Everything made me sick. Even riding in a car. I had a colonoscopy which came back fine. I then had a scope done and showed that I had erosions all in my stomach, throat, and esophogas. I have been on prevacid and aciphex, which did not seem to help at all and the constant burping was just nasty and embarrassing. I got online and found this site and figured I would give the ACV a chance. This is only my 4th day and oh my goodness thank you god!!! I am not nauseous anymore. Riding in a car no longer makes me sick. If I burp it is one good one instead of a million tiny ones and I have energy like I haven't had in years. I have lost 3 pounds in a few days and I am not having bad cravings. I also notice my skin looks better. I also have battled depression for a long time and I actually feel happy. I woke up at 4a.m smiling thinking why am I so happy. This is truley amazing and I can't wait to keep taking it and see what else it does. If you have battled acid reflux believe me I know how horrible it is. Please just try this and you will not regret it!!!

I just had gallbladder surgery almost two months ago. I suffer from nausea, stomach aches and irregularity--to include diarrhea--referred to as "dumping." Seems like anything I eat, I feel nausea, stomach ache, gas, bloating, etc. I am willing to try apple cider vinegar.

Question: How much should I try everyday and at what dosage? I've read where some people have drank a half glass of water with two teaspoons of water; but how many times a day? Any suggestions? Some people have taken apple cider with baking soda. Should I try both? I really could use someone's recommendations. My life has really changed since my surgery...for the bad more than for the good; I don't want the stomach doctor giving hooked on prescriptions that may or may not help my condition.

Hi Ken. My wife had her gallbladder removed about 4 years ago. She sometimes suffers, what is similar to gallbladder attacks. It has been said somewhere, that people still get stones in their BILE DUCTS after the gallbladder has been removed.

What we do for her is a shot glass or 2 tablespoons of raw applecider vinegar/ unfiltered in a glass ( 8oz ) of room temperature apple juice. She will down this and the pain and nausea is gone pretty fast. She just does this when ever she has pain or bad nausea.

You may also want to consider charcoal tablets as they are suppose to help with all kinds of stomach issues...Gas, bloating and nausea.

And I know this is not a natural remedy and I do still have my gallbladder, but when I have severe nausea...I take motion sickness pills and it goes away quickly.

Hope this helps.

Laura, your symptoms sure sound like an H-Pylori infection. I had this and it caused ulcerations like you described, as well as constant nausea, gas, burping for months. Anti-biotics will usually clear it up. They can do a blood test for this. I realize your post is a couple years old, but maybe this will help someone else. Clearly ACV worked for you.. It can work like an antibiotic. So glad you got relief.

If you do indeed have h.pylori, read everything you can find about treating it with antibiotics before actually taking it. I have h.pylori and refused to take antibiotics.

ACV-only Bragg brand works for me, other brands I tried gave me a stomach pain.

I am 7 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy and got on here to look up remedies for my nausea. When I saw applesauce it reminded me that I used to eat a tablespoon of it everyday when I felt nauseous with my last baby! So, thanks for the reminder, now I have to go get some LOL.

I have been sick for the past few days with a stomach bug and sinus infection. I have been using steam to loosen the sinus' up and it has worked well along with the antibiotics; then the stomach bug sat in and I started vomiting non stop with nausea so bad I couldn't stand up or move to fast w/o vomiting.

I tried all the remedies on here for nausea (ACV, cold washcloths, baking soda) I even tried Pepto, and they all caused to to puke more. After having nothing to eat or drink (held down anyway) for over 4hrs, I went into the kitchen and got out cold organic applesauce, and started eating small spoonfuls and within 30 mins, my nausea stopped; and I haven't puked since. I ate about a tsp every 5 mins or so for 30 mins.

I dunno if it is just the antibiotics finally starting to work, or if the applesauce REALLY did work, but either way; I thought I would pass this on, since I remember my Mom making me eat it when I was sick and it made me feel better; and thought it would be good for kiddos, and people that the other things didn't work for.

Thanks again for the great ideas and remedies Earth Clinic!

Cure for indigestion, nausea

After reading all the cures for flu! Using bicarbonate of soda, I wanted to add, that whenever I have bad indigestion or feeling nauseous, I take 1/4tspn bicarbonate soda dry on tongue, and swallow with cold water....cures these things within 20 mins....my dad told me of this years ago! Great cure!

Would this work after taking erythromycin for a nasal infection? I have been nauseated for 4 days since I finished the treatment.

Being nauseated doesn't mean you have indigestion. Check your liver and kidney blood markers, urine as well. Meantime take milk thistle and dandelion supplements/teas. Better get your lab work done before starting the supplements. Just pay online and go to the nearest lab. These tests could be done without doctor's script. You can try baking soda on empty stomach, dissolve thorough, but it is for indigestion. Your story suggests you have side effect from the antibiotic.

I personally take NAC, Premier by Premier Research Labs when I feel my liver needs some help. Milk thistle is one of the ingredients. Go easy on this supplement. Only take as recommended.
Lastly, if you are otherwise healthy, no heart issues, BP issues, get a detox IV which is available pretty much everywhere, they would even come to your home. They are very experienced in determining what will work better for you. Make sure you tell them about your health problems. Make sure they run an Ethical Practice, meaning they would not force on you unnecessary treatments and would refer you to someone who could help if they believe they are not. IV would work faster. But again, if you get a feeling they just want to "sell” you their IV's, don't hesitate to refuse. Chronically ill people should be careful as too much good stuff at once could have an opposite effect. When I wanted to get IV treatments at home, I spoke with them first, explaining the state of my health. They agreed that they should start very slow with me, meaning weaker solutions and a longer drip time (longer than a standard 30min or an hour).

P.S. Do not take Ondansetron for nausea, even if it is prescribed by a doctor. They should do EKG and ask you about arrhythmia. It could be fatal for people with arrhythmia. Most doctors don't know that.

For nausea, try a capsule of baking soda - sodium bicarbonate this you can take with you & a easier way to take it, tastes nasty in water.

It helps with Diarrhea and real fast to. For the nausea try CBD capsules either type will work, no need for full spectrum. I use this for it.
