Can you tell me what type of foods trigger the gallbladder attacks? This is all new to me. Any thing helps I am not sleeping at night:(

Kelly, when I still had my gallbladder and was having much trouble and pain with it the things that triggered it were, overeating period, too many combinations, things like chocolate. What gets it going is when what you are eating needs bile to be digested so the gallbladder tries to squeeze some out. When its full of stones this hurts.
Really simple food and not a great deal of it was best.
By the time I had mine removed it was so miserable that when I woke from sugery I told my doctor "I feel better now! Just waking up from anesthetic and all! " It was so much better just to have the pain gone. I have not experience any bad effects from losing it, compared to how rotten I felt before losing it.

About two weeks into trying to heal my gallbladder. Still being very careful with foods. Had to stop taking the Food Enzyme with Betain. Constipation, sporadically and gas ( belching and flatulence following eating) seem to be the only issue, right now... and my spleen is swollen.
In place of the Betaine/Food Enzyme.. I added papaya. For the spleen, trying black strap molasses. coconut oil pulling, in the Am, prior to breakfast. Still no ( or little) gluten, no dairy unless it is by accident, lean meat, no hydrogenated oils... I had powedered creamer the other day and my stomach was immediately on fire. No or very little sugar. Beets, when I am not out of them... hard to find the fresh ones, locally. Hypothalimus resetting with a homeopathic. Raw vitamin for women. B-complex
Any other suggestions are welcome and thank you! What is up with my spleen....ugh.

Ironbutterfly: the health of the spleen is dependent mostly on the health of the liver, and the health of the liver is somewhat dependent on the health of the gallbladder.
First do a gallbladder cleanse. Fallowing the cleanse start taking liver support herbs like Milk Thistle Seed, Turmeric Root, Artichoke Leaves, Dandelion Root. Some form of Hepatitis could be active, so read up on the symptoms and maybe take some BHT or Chanca Piedra to clear out any possible viruses.
Parasites like the Liver Fluke is possible and can be severe, read up on the symptoms and maybe a round of anthelmintic (natural or pharmaceutical).

Hi how are you, I wanted to know more about what oil exactly of frankincense did you use and did you do directly or use a carrier oil and out it in front and back of gallbladder did it help with the pain only or to dissolve them as well? Thank you. I'd really appreciate it.

Does the pickle juice type matter?
Posted by Cody (West Virginia) on 05/13/2022
I don't really have pain, just severe nausea, plus the morning sickness with it causes an all day vomiting fit everyday. Will pickle juice help with my nausea and vomiting?

Another good remedy for gallbladder attack is put 2 cups of water to boil, add 1tbs. Of flax seed, boil for 5 min. Boiling leeches the fs oil out of the seed and it will soothe an attack. It is tasteless so you can add a little cinnamon or sweetener.

I'm in the midst of what I believe is a gallbladder attack now that had me in the hospital on Saturday. Ultrsound showed nothing, so they escorted me out. I've never had pain like this, even with kidney stones. I tried Belladonna and followed with acupuncture which seemed to work yesterday, but BD alone is not working today. My acupuncturist is now off for the holiday. I've tried ACV and have been drinking warm apple juice only for days but it doesn't relieve the pain. I've read a lot of literature on flushes and had been using gallstonex (with artichoke) but am concerned about trying to increase bile flow while I have this pain. Not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions would be welcome. The allopaths don't seem to care.

Have just read about lecithin helping gall-stones, and I have been taking lecithin in granules for about a year, mixed in foods, but am still getting gall-bladder attacks. I have five small stone in the gall-bladder and one stone blocking the bile-duct. I also take plenty of apple juice and other juices and also milk-thistle and aloe vera juice. As I am very ill and weak anyway with a muscle disease, I want to avoid surgery if at all possible. Can anyone suggest anything else to ease these attacks. I went about 6 months without any and they have all started again.

The Gallbladder and slow bile flow
Nutmeg, Cream of Tartar & Lemon Juice.
I had my Gallbladder removed in 1985. Since then, I sometimes experience a Cholic after eating certain foods. I try to remember to take Bile Salts or Digestive Enzymes before I eat something that I know may cause this problem...but sometimes I forget. When the Cholic hits me, it is in the right side about the area of the surgery scar. Sometimes, I can actually feel a "gas lump". If it is really bad, it will go up into my shoulder and neck right to the base of my head and HURT.
I take 1/2 baking soda and apply a hot rice bag to the area for quick relief.
My friend is a Clinical Nutritionist and she gave me this remedy to thin the bile flow so that my body gets the bile it needs.
For 5 mornings, I take this recipe.
1/4 teas. nutmeg
1/4 teas. cream of tartar
2 Tbls fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup warm water.
It doesn't taste bad and you will find that your digestion improves and the gas pockets go away.

Yes, it does that to me. Took me ages to identify what it was.

I have experienced the extreme discomfort of what I beleive to be gall bladder pain twice in the last year. Both times my symptoms lasted for several hours but were immediatley releived by simply laying down in a prone position. After a few moments the pain completly subsided. If it happens again I will not hesitate to try it at the onset!

This simply does not help. When faced with a bad gall bladder attack there's little I can do but lay prone. The pain may continue to persist or increase regardless.

I have had a gall bladder pain attack 6 out of the last 7 days. On Wed. night I went to a retirement party for our VP that had an open bar. I ordered a glass of White Wine (Chardonney to be exact) and within 20 mins. the pain I was having went away. And yesterday I had another attack so when I got home I put a bottle of Reisling in the freezer for about 20 mins. and then poured myself a glass. Again within about 20 mins of beginning to drink it the pain went away. Not why this seems to help the pain. Could it be the acidity in it, kind of like the Apple Cider vinegar?? I know this isn't a long term remedy and will be making a Dr's appt. next week.
Btw, I have experienced bouts of nausea and pain for the last 4 yrs. The problems come & go, such as I'll be fine for a few months and then all of a sudden it hits me again and they keep coming on for a month or so. I've been to the Dr. several times and they just prescribe omeprazole or something of that nature. But neither Dr. ever mentioned gall bladder. But after my attack on Easter Sunday I started doing some research and talked to a few people at work and the symptoms I'm having are the same they had. My pain is not on the right, it is above the naval in the center below my breastbone and it feels like something is boring through to my back and twisting. I also get bloated, nauseous, gassy, belchy, diarrhea, etc..

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago and still suffer with attacks. This past week I have had them every day. The ACV has been very helpful and I get relief within 20 minutes. But, like you, I had a drink this week (vodka/tonic) and this also helped! Maybe the alcohol helps to relax the area.

Hello that might be hiatel hernia. Look into it. I've had it. Feels like a volcano is ready to rip at the top of my tummy

Your symptoms sound like something a friend experienced. He had jogged the day before his attack. During his sonogram I could see a stone sitting in the duct. It seems the jogging packed the stone in the duct.

Did you use iceberg as well? I am having an attack now, first one in over a year after missing my lemon juice for 2 days. The only lettuce I have in the house right now is baby romaine.. :/

re: Gallstone Relief -- This is not a cure, just a way to immediately relieve an attack. All it takes is a handful of lettuce and all the pain is gone within 5-15 min. I find iceburg works better than romaine or leaf. I think it is because the lettuce makes your liver produce bile so your body stops trying to get it from your gall bladder. Works for me EVERY time!

I have been doubled over in pain and have been sitting here with a bag of lettuce trying to get this pain to subside even a little bit. I am having no luck. Unfortunately this method hasnt worked for me. Possible ER trip.. Sooooooooo painful

Hi Deseree, Try a coffee enema then do a liver flush as/Hulda Clark to get rid of the gallstones. Search the net how to do the coffee enama as it relieves the pain.

What kind of lettuce works best, iceberg, romaine, or is there a certain kind you would recommend for gallstone attacks?
Posted by Jean (Sd) on 02/27/2016
Some find lettuce aggravates a gall bladder issue. I would use romaine though if I were to try lettuce. Organic, if possible. Have you tried apple cider vinegar?

★★★☆☆BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
I tried this same lemon and bicarbonate cure when I was having symptoms of gallbladder pain and abdominal fullness. It really did help the pain right away, though it came back a few days later, however it did cause diahrrea for several hours. I have tried this several times now and each time it helps the pain but causes the diahrea. I also have IBS and fibromyalgia, candida I am sure, plus a Hx of cancer, seizures (not recently) and M.S. Don't want to take it daily if it is going to cause diahrrea each day. Is this a bad thing or could it be cleansing in a way I need? Thanks in advance
