Liver Detoxification

For Liz in Irving Tx

I am wanting to know how much olive oil and how much lemon juice in your cocktail. Do you need a specific olive oil or lemon juice as in real lemon or juice in a bottle?

The protocal for the drink is to liquify a whole lemon in a blender (skin and all) and add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil... Drink in one or two servings... Liquified skin and all... Take seeds out of lemon first then dice up lemon in small pieces before liquifying...

How often do you have to take this - just the once or daily?

Liver Detoxification: ACV, Cranberry, Lemon

I take a daily concoction of 1 tsp ACV, 4 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice, 12 ounces of water, and half of a squeezed lemon. It's part of an eating plan and it's said to help cleanse the liver. All I know about it after seven days is that I feel generally better. I am prone to UTI's so the cranberry is definitely helping, and I've lost 4 pounds in eight days. (Of course, I'm following a prescribed plan of eating all natural foods and eating every three hours). It's a bitter drink, but I'm still drinking it!

Liver Detoxification: Carbonated Water, Lemon, Sea Salt

Stage 4 cirrohsis of the Liver

Internal Body Cleanser,disenfectant & Rejuvenator
Water (Carbonated Spring, mineral) it has to be carbonated.
Pure Lemon Juice ( from lemons, a lemon squeeze, bottled 100% lemon juice)
Sea Salt

If you are not a fan of the salty food this may take some getting use to.This elixer is a rejuvenator for the a sick, dying liver. Not for the healthy.

Mix sea salt into water in large glass, until it is salty to the taste but still drinkable add lemon juice until you taste salty lemon. Drink it slowly. First time you drink it, it will give you severe diarhea. Drink it slowly & have 2 to 3 glasses a day.

Warning: I took lots of slack from the family. The medical professionals won't like the idea either. I knew. I just knew after much research on cirrohsis, that a very sick liver will begin to recover slowly at first & then your blood tests will begin to come back with much better numbers in the various catagories they check for. This is not a quick fix but is meant to be done over a long period of time. You will see an improvement after about 8 weeks. In between drinking this eleixer make sure you drink plenty of water. Eat lots of vegetsbles, fruit & the leaner meats.Stay away from breads, tortillas & eat sweets in strict moderation especially at first.

You need to take care of yourself & make your health a priority.Something that has probably been missing from your life. I have to take monthly blood tests now 4 years after I was diagnosed with stage 4 cirrohisis. Say goodbeye to any alcohol addicition, if that's why you got this terrible disease.Your liver is sick, slow & lazy. This elixer will wake it up again.Your blood tests should begin to improve in their results within a few short months.. I went from being on the transplant list, to being moved to hepatology & now a family practitioner for monthly visits & blood tests. I have now had quite a few blood tests come back near normal except for slight anemia.I continue with lasix & spirolactone, also laculose although as time passes in less doses. I once thought myself fortunate to survive 2 years after my terminal diagnosis but now going on 5 yeras, I'm no longer consider myself terminal in any sense of the word. I do not have an expiration date any longer!

Liver Detoxification: Castor Oil

I have always used Castor Oil Packs to strengthen my liver and kidneys. The liver can grow itself back if you take the time to do it.

You get cold pressed castor oil, wool flannel, a heating pad and a piece of plastic - I use a garbage bag. There are sites online that will explain it in details.

I put the castor oil into a sealed container with the wool flannel and shake it up. You want the castor oil to e dripping from it slowly. I then put the container into the microwave for about 15 or 20 seconds - just to get it heated up. I then put a couple of towels onto my bed or couch and lay down on them. Then I take the wool flannel and put it on my stomach. If you are trying to heal the liver, put it a little bit more over your liver, if you are trying to heal the kidneys, put it over that area. Then I put the garbage bag onto th flannel and then the heating pad - all the way on high (or as high as you can handle). Leave it on for at least one hour and meditate on what you are trying to achieve. After you are finished, wipe your self off with a mixture of Baking soda and water,to get your skin back to the proper ph.

Do this for 4-5 days on and then leave off for the remaining days.

The is a good book calld Edgar Cayce and the Palma Christi. It tells of all the wonderful things that Castor Oil (the Palma Christi) does!

After all that, I didn't pass even one stone. I did everything but take the black walnut husk for liver flukes. I had recently been on the h202 protocol and didn't see the need. I may try the liver cleanse again in 2 weeks. Anyone else done this without passing any stones?

Ok, I knew this probably wasn't going to be much fun before I started, this is for the benefit of my health. right?! Can't be too far away from the bathroom, that's for sure.

I just took my first dose of epsom salt with distilled water, added some freshly juiced apple. It was soooo gross but I choked down 1/3 of the mixture. It's been about an hour, two more doses to go, then the 'go time'. I've spent months using natural protocols I have reasearched. I must say I'm hoping for the best, as I'm nervous and have put this off for months. I have had inumerable health problems. Hope this helps. I'll be back with an update...

Second dose of distilled water and epsom salt is down the hatch. Whoever suggested trying to drink it with a straw, kiss my butt. It was much easier to gulp it down. This time I chased it with the fresh juiced apple juice rather than mixing it, much less grossness. I burped and now feel a little rumbling in my gut. No discomfort so far. Two hours prior to the first dose I juiced a carrot, a beet, an apple, some cherries, spinach and kale and drank that. That's all the intake I had prior today. BTW, kale doesn't juice well I found out, probably will not try that again and save it for a whole food source. Ha. Yesterday, I juiced the same plus ate a cucumber and an apple. Did pretty good, huh? Except I went to Taco Bell later and pigged out. I had 2 or 3 normal stools since then, so hope that doesn't kill the deal for the results I'm hoping for. update to follow...

Well, i did everything as directed. although i did not eat properly leading up to the day of the detox, i had not planned to do it. i had already done the enema, so i just decided to do it. i never had any bowel movement at all until the next morning when i threw up the epsom salt and water. maybe an hour later i had a bowel movement, not diarrhea, i did not take the last epsom salt drink though, i just couldn't do it. i did not have another bowel movement until the next day, just regular. i will never do that again. but i would like to try another easier liver detox. any suggestions... i do think i have extra long colon. my turn around time has alway been about 48 hrs. thank for any suggestions

Magnesium Malate

Posted by Julie (San Luis Obispo, Ca) on 07/17/2012

The malic acid in magnesium malate binds to any aluminum present in the body and eliminates it, allowing for healthy nerve cell growth and detoxification.

Malic acid is also known to cross the blood-brain barrier and bind to aluminum, helping to draw the aluminum away from a particular enzyme so magnesium can plug into the receptor sites instead. The aluminum can now be flushed out of the brain and the body.

This is one of the only ways to get rid of aluminum from the brain other than the complicated method of chelation.

Malic acid is also available to some smaller degree in the skin of some products like organic apples.

Magnesium Malate also helps fuel the krebs cycle of energy production. As most folks are Magnesium deficient, it would probably prove beneficial to also take other forms of Mg to free up the Malate to do the detox work.

Hi Julie, the most abundant source of malic acid that is found is hibiscus flowers which is used alot as tea.

Master Cleanse

I would like to share my experiences with the Master Cleanse. I am 20 years old, female, in good health, and average weight.

The longest I've done the Master Cleanse is 5 days. I ended up breaking the fast because my friend tempted me with an organic green smoothie. Haha. I lost 7 pounds, but gained it all back pretty quickly.

I do the Master Cleanse in the spring time to help reduce allergy symptoms. I also use a nasal rinse bottle, and that helps a LOT. The lemonade has helped me expel a lot of mucous (mucous = toxins! ) but I am still having an issue with post nasal drip.

I have also tried the salt water flush numerous times, prepared many different ways, but it's never worked for me. I suppose it's my iron-strong stomach.

Master Cleanse

I just wanted to share my recent experience using The Master Cleanse as a detox. I decided to try this cleanse because I have been experiencing very frustrating and strange swings with my thyroid, adrenals, and weight. I normally eat a somewhat healthy diet and take good care of myself physically. I exercise 5 to 7 times a week using my stairstepper, treadmill, free weights, and the great outdoors. I have been regularly gaining weight over the past few months for absolutely no apparent reason. I have researched possible causes and treatments for this strange weight gain and tried just about every supplement, remedy, and post on EC as well as many others that I've found in books and online. Nothing was changing my increase in weight. The only diet changes that I had made in recent months were supposed to be good ones not bad ones. I stopped eating anything with aspartame, msm, and tried to only use extra virgin coconut oil if I used oil at all. I started oil pulling, drinking ACV 2x per day, take 50 mg of iodine per day, and switched my salt to sea salt. I am gluten intolerant so I don't eat bread or anything with gluten in it.

I have graves disease and still have my thyroid in tact. I have been treating it with supplements for almost a year now and it has been fairly normal for most of that time. But the most recent labwork I had done showed a higher TSH (Hopefully due to the recent addition of iodine which caused an unloading of TSH) than I have ever had with normal T3 and T4. My adrenals have been tired for a while as well but after getting diagnosed with adrenal fatigue I have also been treating them with supplements and have found much relief using them. So I was completely at a loss for why my weight was going up (20 lbs in 2 months). I decided the best way to find out what is causing it was to detox and then get a fresh start. I researched some different detox programs and decided to go with the popular "Master Cleanse" which consists of nothing but liquid for at least 10 days. I have never done anything so drastic but was very determined to try it at least once. I drank the concoction 8 to 12 x a day, for 10 days straight. Some days I felt amazing and others I felt drained to the point of giving up. I couldn't exercise as my energy levels dropped drastically over the week and a 1/2. I lost about 1.4 pounds a day with a total of 14 pounds on the morning of the 11th day.

It was very hard to complete some days but now that I am done I am so grateful that I did it. I feel like I have a fresh start. If I start gaining weight now I might be able to pinpoint what it is that I am consuming that is causing it. I am only on the 5th day after completing the cleanse but I feel amazing. I have so much more energy now and am able to stay away from foods I think might be the culprit. Like dairy, chocolate, sweets, or bananas. I used to eat 2 banana's per day, I occasional had some chocolate, and every now and then I ate a gluten free muffin or cinnamon raisan bread w/ coconut oil. I have no desire for any of them now. I have continued to lose a little even after beginning to eat again. I am not tired and lethargic around 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon like I was before. I feel like my head is more clear and my will power is rebuilt. I also have a lot more respect for my willpower which I think was lost for a while. I know there are many cons with this diet/detox as well. You loose muscle from not intaking protein. You are drinking 1200 calories a day but there aren't many vitamins and minerals or at least not enough. You gain most of the weight back from what I've read because it is mostly water that you lost. And on and on. I would not suggest that anyone try this detox without researching it forsure. If you have health problems you should definately research it. I still took my supplements because I worried about causing harm to my thyroid and adrenals but you are not supposed to take any vitamins, supplements, minerals, or even medication while on it. I found that there were no strange side effects from taking my supplements and I think it helped to keep my energy up somewhat.

The Recipe: 6 to 12 of these per day

2 tblsp fresh squeezed lemon

2 tblsp grade B maple syrup

1/10 tsp cayenne pepper

8 oz water

You are supposed to do a salt water flush in the morning but I did it at night every other day because it sucks.

2 tblsp organic sea salt

1 liter of (warm to hot) water

Chug this and within 30 minutes you will need to be near a toilet for around an hour or so:)

This is to clean out your bowels which would otherwise be static with no food intake.

I also had a few cups of tea per day. Peppermint 1 or 2 x a day and 1 cup of Smooth Move tea to help on the days I didn't drink the salt water drink.

You are supposed to do an "Ease Out" after the cleanse which consists of fresh squeezed orange juice on the 1st and 2nd day. Then raw veggies, broth, and raw fruits and seeds on the following day. Then you can choose to add things that you feel are good for you. You will find that your digestive system will take some serious adjustments. I began taking refrigerated probiotics on the first day of the "Ease Out. " Just to put back the vital bacteria I had washed away.

I will try to update you when I have had a little more time to adjust and see what happens with my thyroid, adrenals, and weight. Good luck to all that choose to do this detox. There is lots of helpful videos on youtube if you want to see how people make it all the way through the 10 days.

Multiple Remedies

Thank you all so much for all your stories that you have shared with the rest of us on your struggles and pain with your health. We all learn from one another and this website and contributions from everyone is a beautiful gift we give to each other to learn and grow.

I am a firm believer in all the wonderful benefits from VCO. It cured my candida and keeps my fever blisters outbreaks down to a minimum. But, recently I started taking a combination of VCO, (3 tbs) Hemp oil, (1 tbs) Hemp seeds, (2 tbs) and Chia seeds, (2 tbs) which was recommended by nutiva website. I have found that my skin is plumping out and is so soft and healthy looking. My varicose veins are significantly reduced and along with alkalizing, I feel great. I am 62. I thought it was too much healthy fat, and did gain about 3 lbs at first, but that has leveled off.

Another thing I wanted to contribute is I thought for the longest time that I had a sluggish liver and do the appropriate steps for detoxing, ( lemon juice, milk thistle, etc) but while doing some research, I came across how important the lymphatic system is to our liver in order for it to work at its best. So, I have been doing saunas, dry brushing, running in place (do not have a trampoline) and proper diet. Do some reading on the lymphatic system. It's amazing to me how the body can heal itself, if we only help it along. Bless you all.

I google "how to detox your lymphatic system naturally" and started reading from there. There are a couple of books I can recommend. "Herbal Medicine, From the Heart of the Earth" by Dr. Sharon Marie Tilgner and anything by Adelle Davis. I'm currently reading her book, "Let's Stay Healthy". In this one, she breaks down everything on how food works in our body, what each organ does and what it takes from the food to function and stay healthy. It's so easy to understand for us "laymen". Do some research on her, also. Fascinating reading..... she was way above her time.

Multiple Remedies
Posted by Toxic In South Australia (North Of Murray Bridge, South Australia) on 12/06/2011

Just stumbled on this. I had EXTREME gallbladder disease (nearly died) 5 years ago. I also have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Muiltiple Chemical Sensitivity. Grew up in a "wood pulp/paper" are... Very very polluted and also worked the family CHEMICAL garden whilst very young for years. Now I do detox every day, Pall/Ziem therapy plus Gerson Therapy. We ONLY eat organic food and raise our own organic eggs from chickens we bred. Can't eat non-organics as it is agonizing.

This "oil pulling" looks like it could help my wife and I (she is also very ill with very similar things). We both have very bad teeth from medications we would die without (at some levels of pain, medication is the only choice other than death, as people NEED to eat and be able to move).

PLEASE do not ABBREVIATE impartant parts of what you do.

I have no idea what VCO is and many of you use it. There are other abbreviations I cannot understand. There is limited help in telling people what you do (so they can choose to experiment if they choose to) when there is no definition of the terms you use.

I intend on starting with organic olive oil and maybe organic coconut oil (which I already have as ). We will only be using organic oils, and I know that will limit us, but I am EXTREMELY reactive to pesticides (I get 'hand sized' deep blisters down into the fat layer) and as we are on disability there will be limits on what we can do financially.

We also both have very bad teeth (lots of infections, too many partial root canals to count to stop the infections). I hope this will clear up the intrenched infections that I believe are the cause (which thrive from poor imunity from toxicity).

I expect to start on std organic olive oil today before I sleep (not extra virgin) for five minutes, to avoid extra herx reactions.

We have been doing radical detox for several years now, and are far better now than we were (given out level of illness that is a scary thought, as to how bad we were).

The Gerson coffee enema, used widely even in normal western hospitals for many years (before the 1920s until the late 60s/70s, can drastically lessen the Herksheimer reaction of any detox you do whilst the enema is in place.

The all organic & all "pure" water coffee solution will grab the toxins straight out of the bile (coffee up your bum does not act the same way as when you drink it... My wife and I are BOTH intolerant of caffeine via the mouth). By grabbing the toxins out of the bile BEFORE they can be grabbed back up by the small bowel, they do not go back into the blood and into the liver again... So you avoid MUCH of the nasty cycle that causes the healing crisis.

This is done using organic coffee, pure water NOT CHLORINATED TAP WATER. NEVER USE ANYTHING BUT ORGANIC MATERIALS AND PURE WATER. This method allows us to detox without as extreme a Herksheimer reaction. My wife is SO TOXIC she still gets some, but she cannot take antioxidants without the enema or she will get a migraine. We are so toxic we have no other choice if we want to make detoxification progress without is taking decades.

Look into the Gerson therapy. We have coupled it with other forms of detox, to GOOD effect, and I intend on adding "OP" to my daily detox coffee enema as of tomorrow. I already do MXM, L-Glutamine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, nebulized reduced glutathione, Noni Juice & milk thistle with my "morning coffee" (ehem... not taken in the same manner).
