D-Ribose

★☆☆☆☆
I too tried d-Ribose, after reading one raving revue on here. Initially I was quite impressed - almost felt like 20 again (44 now and, had 10 years of CFS in my 30s). I took anything from 5g to 20g per day. Initially building up the dose, but after 2 weeks I went down to 5g per day for another 3 weeks. After a week or so the initial high abated. Seems that if I get negative/ grumpy energies, even Ribose cannot kick through. Furthermore I developed digestive problems, seems Ribose was quite the Laxative for me (and left a constant funny tummy feeling). The strangest side-effect was hurting teeth. I thought that a couple of months old filling was playing up, and that I would require a root canal now, but when I discontinued Ribose the teeth/ nerves calmed down again. It was not just the one tooth that was affected too, but pretty much all molars which could get painful and very sensitive (and had not suffered from sensitive teeth before).
The phenomenon repeated when taking Ribose for 2 days (a few weeks later) as needing to finish some time-sensitive decorating.
To conclude - the side-effects definitely will, for now, keep me from adding Ribose to my supplement regime. I might take it occasionally, when requiring an extra boost of energy, but only if absolutely unavoidable.... That is not to say though that Ribose might not work (side-effect free) for others.
Sulphur

Hi, You do not need a "Prescription" to take Homeopathic Sulphur... I bought it at Sprouts Health Food Store in my neighborhood. The brand I used is called Boericke and Tafel, but there are other brands that offer the same thing... If you purchase on line they will be a potency of 30c or sometimes 6x... You don't need a prescription though at all... I don't know where Tashimoto got that from... At the health food stores there are other Homeopathic supplements that you can take like "Kalium Iodatum", which is also known as "Potassium Iodine", which is basically what Lugol's Iodine is... And again, you don't even need a prescription for that either...

I have had ME since 1995, and had my first experience with HP in 96. Wow, it was the only thing that turned me around. I was on 1 teaspoon of 35% HP 3 times a day in water. Felt rough for 1 week, then started to dramatically improve. Not cured, but improved tremendously. Fast forward to beginning of 2012, I have overdone things at work, eaten the wrong foods, etc. Been particularly unwell the past 5 weeks, all the ME symptoms have returned with a vengeance. Went to allergist, now on a candida diet for one week, taking acidophilous and metatone tonic, and taking up to 5 drops of Hydrogen peroxide 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks. Feel sooo ill. Honestly, the worst I've been for years. Don't know whether it's the detox from the diet, or whether the Hydrogen peroxide is detoxing me too fast, or what. Don't know whether I can continue on HP for now if it's making me this ill, ie, brain fog, stomach and bowel discomfort, nausea, no energy. Any suggestions would be gratefully looked at.
Thanks, Simon

I am sorry that you are having so much ill health, I know how you feel. I've had CFS for 64 years, after a nasty flu my freshman year in high school. It took me 5 years to stop running a low grade fever every day and start feeling better. I didn't even know what it was until the Incline Village outbreak. I've had several relapses since I got this. Stress does it every time. I take enough supplements that I should have opened my own health food store so I could get a discount. But that is daydreaming, my health wouldn't permit it. I am presently taking tyrosine for sleep, and I found that the PABA and DMAE combination is great for the brain fog. I pray that you will soon be in remission.

To Heather from San Diego, First off, Congratulations on your great results!
I have questions which have to do with your use of borax, but the EC form won't allow me to modify the subject line to include Borax in it.
Heather, could you please give some more details on your use of the Borax? How much did you take, and how frequently? How did you know, and how long did it take for you to know positively that it was Borax making the difference? Did you use 20 Mule Team or something else? This is important for me to know. Did the Borax initially produce an increase of pain for you?
Thank you very much, and again congratulations! Linda

The creatine has given me ridiculous amounts of energy /focus, it might be that and not the D-Ribose.
After I workout I'm normally exhausted, but on creatine it seems like it gives me even more energy when i'm done. Unfortunatly, 5 grams gave me insomnia, so I'm trying 1.25 grams to see if I can get similar results without the insomnia. Try micronized monohydrate or less stomach problems.

History:
Developed asthma at pre-school age; used to play in big oxygen tent which covered my bed.
Developed Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 31 after birth of 2nd child; doctors still vacillate as to whether I have true RA as titers do not show up, but symtoms follow MD guidelines and over the years have taken extremely toxic meds for RA. No longer will take heavy meds for RA; deal with in other ways.
Developed Chronic Fatigue, or what was diagnosed as such, shortly after life long best friend died at age 50 with heart desease. I was then 48. Went to doctor I have used for years (still drive 12 hours to see her 2x a year) and told her I thought I was suffering from depression due to friend's death. She wanted to take blood work before just slapping me on anti-depressive meds. Tests came back with mono; which in Adults is Epstein Barr and two other less common viruses/ She treated me for 6 weeks and at the end of that time, though fevers were less, fatigue and stumbling, no sleep, too much sleep, were not markably improved. Lived with this for many more years with no treatment until MDs starting treating with B12 injections. I now take 3x a week (I am 60). It does help, but not alot. Episodes still occur with virilent effects every three to six weeks. Last year was put on SAVELLA which is new treatment for Fibromyalgia. It has helped some too, spaced out episodes to four to six months, but now having problems with dry eye; loss of part of film covering eye and IBS.
I have to tell all of you, common sense says autoimmune diseases are either related or feed off of each other or must strike some commonality as people with one autoimmune situation almost always have or develop another.
Though I have nothing against "good" doctors (was raised by two), I have strong objections to now taking 22 pills a day which in no way shape or form can be good for my system and probably to some extent counteract each other. I am a Type A personality (which most autoimmune sufferers are), used to be very athletic, no longer eat meat as body will not tolerate and, of course, like almost all CFS sufferers no longer work outside the home, much less overwork, which I was famous far.
I have lost friends over this as no one who has not suffered these life changing effects understands what you go through; luckily I do have a good spouse who tolerates my illness and my voracious reading and searches to try to find cause, effect and some form of treatment to help. I do think the floride poisoning reasearch has some strong studies to back it; oh and my hubby calls me a mine canary because if anything can effect anyone negatively by ingestion or skin contact, I usually "fall" off the perch first.
Any studies or possible treatment with diet change or minerals or vitamin additives that anyone has found to be helpful I would appreciate.
thanks.................stuck in lower rural, backward, Georgia
Susan
PS don't let anyone, with MD after their name or not, fool you into thinking this is caused by depression; anyone who has lived with chronic illness of any sort for more than a couple of years gets depressed.... HELLO?... Your life as you know it stops. If you need antidepressives to help control your sense of despair, take them, but be aware they come with their own issues as any chemical does......... Yoga does work for alot of people.

I was diagnosed with CFS/FM/Under active thyroid and arythma garret, 3 years ago they told me I need a hip replacement and I was being monitored for my heartbeat, which had dropped to 34, I was told that I would need to have a pacemaker. Thank God I did not listen to them and started doing research and then a friend took me to see someone who treats people with bio energy and after one treatment, my heart rate went up to 42, so I was safe from the pacemaker. A couple more treatments and I was starting to get a lot better, I suffered terribly from brain fog, a teaspoon of ESKIMO OIL every day.. I started to notice the difference after a week, started to remember things and my mind was a lot more sharper and clearer. I had to travel 40 miles and someone had to drive me there and back, so I was still looking for other options and someone introduced me to a bio energy bed, that I could use at home called cergen, after the unlimited free trials, I decided to invest in one as I wanted in the comfort of my home and be able to use it 3 times a day. It does many things, align your spine, where the blood is made and also massages you and focuses on the lymphatic system, that really helped. I used everything on earth clinic and still do.
Then I found wet cuppin, hijamah therapy, it is the best thing I have come across as it helped and healed me in many ways, and is so amazing that I could not possibly write all the benefits on here, so the best thing is to google it as Hijama. I had hijama done on my hip and after one treatment my hip was back to normal.
I have also started to use DMSO.. Amazing stuff. I am a lot better, I have more or less a normal life. I found speaking only positive and smiling all the time helped. I still continue to use all these things, whenever I can, especially hijama as I have found this to be the most beneficial. I also only use distilled water and threw my microwave out a long time ago. I try and eat health , organic food and do not use any chemicals on my body, , or take them. Writing everyday, to empty my mind of rubbish changed my life! I hope this can be helpful as I know too well what its like being ill and being neither awake , nor asleep, feeling jet-lagged and not being able to sleep, the pain used to be on the next level and the worst , family and freinds not understanding. Peace, love and thank you for this wonderful site.. I love it. Tanya.

I have battled chronic fatigue for more than 20 years. Sometimes it's baffling; it comes and goes. However, I have managed to keep working all this time because of the natural remedies I've used. The XMRV viral connection makes sense to me. I had Epstein-Barr virus. I treated this with the essiac fomula very successfully, and I am due for another brewing. It might be worth a try. It turns my energy around with a week of taking the brew morning and night on an empty stomach. Essiac is said to kill viruses and cancer cells in the bloodstream. I'd like to add that I took the essiac formula to my cousin and his partner, who had come down with AIDS many years ago. To this day, they still take it, and it has been a literal life saver for them. Chronic fatigue can also have a thyroid component, and also adrenal exhaustion may play a part, or a combination. A homeopathic doctor told me years ago that my mitochondria were dysfunctional. The mitochondria are organisms that live in our cells. They consume sugar and release energy, giving us energy at the cellular level. If this is not working correctly, you will not have any energy being supplied to your body. The mitochondria can be effected by viruses, candida, etc.! I'm currently looking into how to support the mitochondria. Anyone out there have any suggestions for that?

Within a few weeks, you should notice your allergies greatly improving, and have good digestion!! Get enzymes capsules that are enzymes only. No HCl, etc.

Do you have setbacks or has your energy level been consistent since you began supplementing?

To Jack: sorry you are experiencing this and having no luck with any remedies. I had a flu virus a couple of years ago that caused me to be extremely weak for several weeks after the usual symptoms disappeared. I was really worried and had just symptoms like you describe. I bought a bottle of food grade peroxide, but after researching hydrogen peroxide far and wide on the net, came across Bill Munro's hydrogen peroxide inhalation method, which made a lot of sense to me. I never ended up using my food grade. I did Bill's method and started to feel better after 48 hours. I was completely back to normal after a week. I inhaled 3% drugstore every 2-3 hours for the first 48 hours (but not during the night of course). Then I started to cut back and inhaled every 4-5 hours for the next 5 days. It was my life saver. I now never travel anywhere without my little sinus inhaler bottle filled with h202. Before I take off I inhale. After I land I inhale. And when everyone else is catching viruses from planes, I never get sick. This is the very best remedy for viruses in my opinion. Good luck to you. Hope you will find something that works very soon.

In response to Jack from Lexington, KY-USA on Chronic Fatigue:
It sounds like you have Chronic Fatigue syndrome. Most regular MD's can't treat you for this. See if you can find an Alternative Dr, an ND instead of a MD. Try searching under Environmental Doctors. There's a website for Environmental Dr's that might help.
1. Check thyroid. Find Dr. that knows Wilson's protocol.
2. Check Adrenal levels for Adrenal Fatigue. Inability to workout can be adrenal fatigue.
3. Test for Epstein -Barr virus.
4. Test for Candida. Those with weakened immune systems often get candida.
5. Maybe check into Heavy metal toxicity. Most regular MD's won't do the right test for this. Standard blood test will only pick up a recent LARGE exposure to metals, not small chronic exposures. Red Blood cell test can check better. I don't think I'm allowed to give the labs that does this test
6. Check Andrew Hall Cutler book, it may help on Mercury/metals. He has a Yahoo health group
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/
To help a bit with energy while trying to find a decent Doc. Try
7. Sublingual Methyl B-12 everyday, 1000 mcg. B-12 Shots work best if you can find a Dr to give an Rx. make sure it is not preserved with aluminum
8. Sublingual B complex. Shots work best
9. Co - E1, NADH Sublingual, 10 mg, everyday.
10. Many people with CFS are low on the zinc, selenium, chromium, magnesium. Some of these are sublingual. Taste bad but work good.
11. Many people with CFS have digestion problems and malabsorption problems, that's why the sublingual vitamins/minerals. Maybe try Betaine and enzymes with meals to help with absorption. DR can check for pancreatic insufficiency. Test can be done without DR through directlabs, but test is expensive.
12. If Epstein-Barr virus or candida, try a "Wellness Formula" that has herbs to help weakened immune system.
13. Adrenal Cortex glandular, 3x times a day may help a bit with Adrenal fatigue. Cortisol from a DR is best, but an Rx.

Dear Jane, wow! Thank you so much for suggesting L Carnitine. I immediately ordered some liquid, pharmaceutical grade after reading your post. (Is liquid better than powder?) You are absolutely right, it is the energizer bunny remedy, holy moly! I usually get super fatigued in the afternoon, but a tablespoon of L-C on an empty stomach 3x a day has stopped my desperate desire to take a long nap. Are there any side effects to taking this for long term? I have noticed (sorry to sound gross) that it turns my stools orange though! I don't eat red meat, so this amino might be fixing that...

I've had CFS for about 6 years and in the past few months I've made a remarkable recovery. In my case underlying causes were food sensitivities (dairy and corn) and PBB poisoning as well as metal toxicity. In Michigan in the 70s a chemical company accidentally dumped PBB into cattle feed and it got into the food chain. Working with my kinesiologist I've done a lot of detoxing and now am up to about 75% of the energy I used to have. I got rid of my aluminum cookware. This year I'll have my metal (mercury) fillings replaced. The headaches and other conditions like IBS are gone. CFS and fibromyalgia seem to be related to the body being filled with toxins more than its able to handle. That explains why conventional medicine can't figure out what the cause it -- it's a different set of causes for every individual. Still, anything you can to do detox should help, and look for food intolerances as well.

Two solutions: If the CFS began following a serious or persistent infection like Strep, Mono or ear infection or sinus infection and then a month later there persisted fatigue, the problem might be that the infection (virus or bacteria) still is latent in the system.
Use colloidal silver to knock it out. I took it for four months, a tablespoon twice daily and in a week felt much better. But it took a ful four months to completly finish off the infection. I also sprayed into the sinus cavity a few times and irrigated the ear canals.
Second, CFS can be caused by depletion of the adrenals. First time I felt that fatigue was following a lot of high pressure in the business world. I took two adrenal caps after lunch and supper and within a week my energy exploded back. Dropped the dose down to two a day with meals, usually at lunch. If I took them at supper (following my recovery) I found that sometimes I had so much energy I couldn't sleep. That's why I take them at lunch.

I was diagnosed with CFS several years ago. Last year I went to a natural medicine clinic at the suggestion of a friend and had a biofeedback session. Turns out that I had was several food sensitivities (dairy, coffee, chicken and wheat). Once these items were identified and eliminated from my diet, my energy level was restored within 6-8 wks! I also took herbal supplements for about 6 months. I also suffered from post nasal drip in the mornings and sneezing. Once the dairy was eliminate, my symptoms ceased within a week. Amazing!

I've been a vegetarian for many years. And although I'm not 100% vegan, I rarely eat dairy (except yougurt). I get plenty of exercise and I don't smoke and I rarely drink (red wine once a month). In spite of all this, I have been suffering from CFS for the last 7 years. Through diligence and hard work, many of the symptoms have slowly faded away. Recently, I got one of Kevin Trudeau's books and in that book he talks alot about the wonders of apple cider vinegar and pure distilled water. I've also researched this on the net and it all seems to be true. So for the last two weeks I've been drinking 8 full glasses of distilled water everyday and I've been taking 2 tablespoons of vinegar a day. I've noticed some obvious improvements. The most significant thing that I noticed is that I no longer have such dry skin and my scalp isn't flaky anymore. Also, it seems I'm sleeping better and I don't crave sweets has been lessened. Nonetheless, in spite of all the good news, I've been experiencing something that's totally unexpected and very unusual. I'm constipated. I've never had a problem with constipation. Even in my worst days with CFS I was never constipated. But now, every other day it seems I'm struggling to get something to come out. This is really baffling to me because I'm drinking more water than ever before and I have more energy, yet I'm suffering from constipation. Do you know what may be causing this?
Distilled Water, Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Amy (Little Rock, Ar) on 07/12/2011
I took a chemistry class in college and used distiller water for many of our very precise experiments. The reason for distilled water is that it is in a very stable and pure water form. It lacks vitamins, minerals and therefore ions. This is where people are slightly misinformed. Distilled water is a pure form but it's used for experiments due to its condition NOT to interact with other side reactions.
We as humans need ions in our water. We need this for osmosis and cellular interactions in order to function at the basic levels. I asked my instructor specifically about drinking distilled water and he claimed we would eventually die. I'm not sure about that, however, it would definitely explain constipation. Our bowels operate significantly by using ion exchange and water osmosis. If water cannot be pulled through our bodies using ions, just imagine the challenge of moving uncharged water from your kidneys to your bowels.... Not gonna happen. The suggestion to at least add magnesium or simply salt to your water might help. I personally would drink bottled water while resuming your normal regimen and look for change. Hope this helps.

Amy and Max. I have been drinking about 3 to 4 liters of distilled water per day for the past 19 years. Let me assure you that I am not near death, nor do I have constipation. My daily bowel movements can vary with the number of full meals I have the previous day but 3 a day of each is the daily average. Max, I think your comments about skin and scalp improvements and the ACV gives a better understanding of what is going on. The ACV is helping with the candida overgrowth throughout your body(which was causing the dry and flakey scalp and skin), but without a serious input of probiotics there is not enough good bacteria in your gut to balance the bad and to allow proper digestion to be maintained. Although yogurt can supply some probiotics, you would need to eat probably the same amount as your water intake to be effective. I strongly urge you to puchase and use a good 6 or 8 strain probiotic from the refrigerated section of a good health food store. Following the directions on the label should alleviate your problem.

I agree with you Aidan, re Biological Weapons as the cause for M.E. / CFS in North America. I became very ill in 1985. Was diagnosed by Dr. Byron Hyde in 1989 with M.E. I was represented by a Professor who had worked with Garth Nicholson at the Institute for Molecular Medicine, in Irvine California, I believe. It was Nicholaon who was working on a Mycoplasma that would become a Bio Weapon , and was used by the U.S. Govt and patented by them...Mycoplasma Fermentans Incognitis, to be exact. It was weaponized and dusted with crystalline Brucellosis , which was "dusted " on mosquitoes and released on the public by aemail methods, from airplanes, over Eastern Ontario, where I live, but also released in other areas!
Do an online search for " biological weapon testing in the United States, and do the same search for "Canada" , it will all come up. Also " Google search" The same for the U.K. And Australia!

I agree with Ted that cloves help. I take clove oil a just couple drops in water. Cloves kill parasites, my doctor has me change the herbs every month one month GSE Berberine following month Allimax which is mega garlic it was suggested I do this for two years which is a very long time, but that is the time it takes to kill them. A study found that one-third of people with chronic fatigue that were tested, were found to be infected with Giardia lamblia. Another study found one-half of people tested were infected with Candiada albicans, which is yeast. Getting checked at the right lab with right experts make all the difference in the world, Also mold poisioning can look like chronic fatigue since most doctor are not trained in diagnosing mold illness they don't even know what tests to give you. You have to find a mold doctor that is specialized pr an environmental illness doctor they will know how to treat you. Mold illness symptoms are as intense as Lyme.

Posted by Aleeza (Mannheim, Germany) on 10/04/2012

WARNING!
Hi Stacy, you must google the side effects of Lithium. My brother who has bipolar used Lithium for a long time. In the begining it helped my brother but then it made his bipolar symptoms more worse and also made him bald and hypothyroid. It can harm your liver and kidneys too. Instead of Lithium you can try Magnesium for your sleep problem. This is my personal observation that Lithium has ruined my brother's life.
Lithium Aspartate
Posted by Stacy (Kernersville, NC) on 10/05/2012
Hi Aleeza, Could you let me know what form of lithium your brother was using? I think that the official pharmaceutical lithium is lithium carbonate at 250 mg per does. As I understand the literature, lithium orate and aspartate are more on the dietary supplement level and used at 5-10mg per day.
I use an iodine supplement to help with the hypothyroid issue. I know that my diet has very little in the way of either mineral, so that may also contribute to the positive effect.
I'ved tried magnesium in several forms, but found no noticible difference in my health over a 3 month period. I due use magnesium chloride brine as a deodarant, so I suppose I still get it transdermally.
Please let me know what form of lithium did this to your brother.
Diatomaceous Earth
Posted by Tsavah (Geronimo, Oklahoma) on 07/04/2012
I have not seen Diatomaceous Earth labeled as food grade, but the fatigue problem is common to many prescription drugs and sauves. For example, steroid creams are often prescribed for all sorts of skin problems and over time the medications stop being useful, but cause all sorts of side effects, to include fatigue. I have trouble with my eyes, and the damage is likely permanent. Many of the other side effects common to Cushing's are starting to be less severe since I have stopped using the steriod cremes for my skin. All of the many doctors I have been treated by don't seem to know much about the side effects, nor suggest knowing about Cushing's.

Joyce.... Can you let me know the name of the sulpher tablets that you used? I have a similar problem like yours and can't wait to try this remedy to see if it would help. Also would you know if sulfur is safe for people who are hypothyroid. Thank you so much.

She says the sulphur she used had a 30c potency. That is Homeopathic Sulphur and should be prescribed by a knowledgeable Homeopath according to symptoms.

Joyce,
Did you have your amalgams removed? I understand you're not supposed to chelate until after all amalgams are gone.
How are you doing now? I'm curious - did you get CFS from mercury exposure? I have severe CFS and my symptoms started a month after a bad dental procedure involving copious amounts of mercury vapor. I now feel as if I'm dying.
I hope you continue to do well.

Any feedback on this now?
I still have my amalgams...cant really remove them without having my liver and kidneys super strong and healthy.. as well as my adrenals.
So sulphur wont help?

I'm wondering the same thing. I was all ready to begin the turpentine treatment when someone told me that doing it before removing my amalgams would deposit the mercury in my brain! I would be relieved to learn that sulfur will chelate the mercury, as I haven't the wherewithal to remove the amalgams now. I began a new thread on this issue yesterday but haven't received an answer yet, so thought I'd try here, as well. Thanks!

Do you take pill form or capsule or the fruit-chewable kind? I would love to be a better programmer and get back to my beloved dance exercise!

Hi Energizer Bunny - Thanks so much for the information on D-Ribose - especially now with winter closing in, far less sunshine and the cold winds howling. I feel I have to fight off the urge to hibernate!
Tomorrow I will stop off at the health food store and get that combination of vitamins that you have been using. Thanks again - cheers! Bess

How long should it take for these supplements to work? I've had chronic fatigue for 6 years and I'm taking D-ribose, creatine, acetyl carnitine and COQ10. I've been taking them for a few days now to no effect. Please help!

I'm happy for you. My question is, can you take this regimen long term? I know it's all natural but from what I have read even with all natural they suggest you cycle off and use natural remedies like this only when needed because it affects your brain chemistry. My problem is I need something I don't have to cycle off. I have ADD/chronic fatigue/anxiety and depression issues that all cause lack of energy and focus and extreme fatigue and I need something that I can stay on because this never seems to go away, battled it my whole life. My point is, I can't just “ take it when needed “ because my body needs it all the time, not in an addictive way, it just seems my body lacks these supplements to make it function properly.
Any advise? Trying to find natural remedies with no side affects or long term affects so I can take it nonstop and continually because nothing else has or is working.

I was excited about the research on D3, but it seems to have no effect on my CFS.

I had chronic fatigue for over 10 years in the '80's when it wasn't recognized as a 'real problem'. Eventually I even had to quit working (could never collect disability). Even spent 3 weeks in the hospital for testing by an infectious disease doctor, who found no reason for my symptoms. What I found out, over time and by accident, was that being on antibiotics would relieve my symptoms for a significant period of time. Luckily, my personal physician believed me, and would prescribe for me when I would get really bad. Over time, I gradually came out of it.

I came out of remission 11 yrs ago due to taking a beta blocker for 3 1/2 years. The regular MDs and the docs at the Fibromyalgia clinic are always asking me if I am depressed. I keep telling them that if I wasn't depressed I'd be CRAZY!

Dear Ted, Thank you for your help with CFS and allergies. Six years ago I started a continuous struggle with Chronic sinus headaches and infections brought on by allergies, deep muscle pain and extreme brain fog(At times it is too difficult to drive) and now severe depression. I have been bed ridden much of the time, but still keep going and making efforts to get well for my two children (ages 7 and 11) and my husband who has been burdened with all of the things I can no longer do.
I have tried everything, I even stayed two months away from my family in order to get daily IV therapy which like all else was short-lived. I am currently on thyroid medication and a high dose of an anti-depressant.
I began your allergy protocol with amazing success. I had a few bad days, but they disappeared within a week. I then began the H202 recipe that you gave in an earlier CFS response. In one day I felt like my old self and have not taken an antihistimine or sinus medication in two weeks! I am cautiously ecstatic.
Last night hayfever set in with a vengeance. I have not taken any meds for it because I want to give your therapy a chance to work. I was able to get out of bed and steam with vinegar and water which finally brought the relief that citric acid and baking soda could not touch. It is evening and I am much better and can think clearly enough to write.
I think I may be taking too much between H2O2 (3 drops per glass of mineral water) two glasses sipped all day and citric acid, baking soda and mineral water twice a day. When I feel my energy drain I use clove oil with unbelievable success. Could this actually work long term? Should I keep doing this every day along with taking Mg, amino acid, Chlorella, Zinc and egg yokes?
I had a major setback today because I cut myself in the garden and got a a tetanus shot along with stitches. I am terrified all of this progress will now be lost. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thank you again for the last few weeks of improved health and the sliver of hope that it is possible to be healthy again.
Sincerely, Courtney

Clove Oil
Posted by Kath (Bangkok) on 08/18/2013
Clove oil - Bangkok Ted hello - is it possible to get that in Bangkok? If so, where? I cannot even find tea tree oil here. I made my own solution with cloves and water - seel below.
Also... I have long running fatigue / breathing problems and since addressing them with a breathing therapy that detoxes the body... (past nearly 4 years) I've noticed it's all happening in the bowels / digestion. As the liver and kidneys are kicking out a lot of stuff - both foul smelling bio-nasties, and some kind alcoholic / aldehydic unpleasant volatile organic chemical.
Anyway one thing I've noticed is sensitivity to mould - in aircon units / damp hotels etc. In my old apartment in Bangkok I discovered mould in the aircon when I was very sick and got a company round to clean the units (the landlord was terrible).
So outside my window was a shelf where aircon cooler sat and where the rain water collected. The aircon guys had stripped away a big carpet of moss for me, but whenever I went past that room my breath caught me with a coughing fit and wheezing.
As part of that demoulding, I had made clove tea - from boiling up a lot of cloves in water. So thinking maybe the ledge was the culprit for much bad air, I poured the clove mixture all over the ledge, and used a sweeping brush to scrub it in.... Strangely 15 minutes later.... It's like the air had transformed.... I am with Heidi in the Alps, singing Sound of Music. No more tightness / asthma... feeling of suffocation.
Cloves do seem to do something very powerful.
OUt of interest, while that external drama was going on I was finding I was getting very itchy feet and hands. I have a feeling there is mould contamination of my body and it's trying to fight it. I have something under my big toenails. And very dry skin hard skin like a camel's on the knuckles of my big toes.
Inspired by Bangkok Ted's points about clove oil, I am wondering whether to make more of that clove tea and soak my feet in it.
I would also like to understand the mechanism / history of this mould stuff in the body. I do know that as a baby my mum and I lived in a damp unheated basement in a very cold part of Northern Scotland - there were slugs inside and I got very sick with bronchitis. I wonder if I was first attacked by mould then and developed a low-level infection / alllergy that has continued to this day, dragging me down?
A good thing is I seem to be getting more aware of mould. I am staying right now in Chiang Mai for a few days and they put me in a room where I didn't like the smell. Everytime I went in I could smell it. I selpt for 3 hours in there and then went up on the balcony and slept sat up on a lounger the rest of the time. I asked to see a new room and they happily changed it for me. I also got a - much much mouldier - room changed in Laos in a cheap hotel about 3 months ago. I asked to move upstairs which was better - for 1 night it didn't matter so much. But I find mould has a big effect on my breathing and energy levels. So I would definitely advise anyone with CFS / health problems to be assertive if you're staying somewhere - get out of any place that is mouldy. If it's a damp climate, take a room on an upper floor because these are better. In these tropical climes it's better to find a living space where you can get air flow right through the room (with mozzie screens) and fans... this is healthier than air con.
If anyone has had health gains from demoulding - both the body and environment... Please can you advise on resoures / sources of practical advice?

Most doctors don't have any idea what CFS is so many people get misdiagnosed. One should get a ciguatoxin test done for confirmation.

Hi, Yes I also have CFS and Fibromyalgia which I know I encountered living in my old apartment where I was for 13 years. I was getting sicker and sicker, sleeping all day, severe migraines. I finally found out when I was remodeling the bathroom. When we took down the shower walls, the mold was so thick it looked like pudding painted all over the walls. At that point it attacked me and my children violently. We have now been out of that house for a year. I have 6 children, I can no longer work due to my health conditions. The mold was eating the nerves in my body. Mold is so bad... Most people dont even know about it.
Olive Leaf
Posted by Sarah (Tel Aviv, Israel) on 07/05/2010
I've had a mild case of chronic fatigue for 24 years. I've improved my diet - everything fresh, no chemicals. I've been oil pulling as well as other things to try to either heal myself or reduce symptoms.
I wanted to see if olive leaf can help me (on the assumption that CFS is caused by the XMRV retrovirus, and olive leaf is anti-viral). I always prefer a food solution to a supplement and there are olive trees growing on the streets around me (and there is air pollution too).
Is there any way I can use the leaves from the trees? Are they safe? What should I do with them? If not fresh leaves, should I try olive leaf capsules? Extract? Thanks in advance.

In response to Sara from Tel Aviv, if there is pollution I would not try to use olive leaf from the trees. I would get properly prepared capsules. As an alternative, I have successfully used the essiac formula to kill the viruses. I have had chronic fatigue for more than 20 years on and off. My first bout with it was terrible, I didn't even have enough energy in my body to get myself up my stairs to bed. The essiac formula kicked my energy into gear within a week. I took a commercially prepared blend from the health food store, brewed it, and took 1/4 cup in 2-3 times as much water, once in the morning, on an empty stomach (I kept the glass by the bedside), and once at night, again, on an empty stomach, before going to bed. I would suggest taking it for a week and seeing how you feel. You can repeat treatments as often as needed, you just shouldn't be taking it all the time. The essiac formula is strong, and can tax your liver. I am now due for another brewing. Essiac formula is said to kill viruses and cancer. I went to the presentation of the research paper on XMRV at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. The viral connection is an exciting link. If you have a viral cause for the fatigue, or it's a contributing factor, essiac can really help.
