Lemon Juice
★★★★★
I haven't seen much on this but lemon juice can stop an allergy attack in its tracks... Almost instantly. Depending on the severity of the attack and how long you have allowed it to go, you may have to take two or three shots of lemon juice. That's how we do it. My husband has severe allergy attacks and most allergy meds doesn't even help him. If I hear him sneezing and blowing his nose I run and grab the lemon juice, he takes a big swig from the bottle and the attack will usually stop, sometimes if it's a bad one he will have to take a second swig. This has worked great for our family.
Magnesium

I developed allergies post menopausal, I got sensitive simply to any minimal changes in my vitamins. It all got started by hives due taking Collagen supplements. (It could be anything ) It made me highly sensitive to even brand change of the same ..vitamins/supplements. I had severe hives and deep itching untractable. Nothing was helping the itch, I couldn't even sleep, scratching thru the night. My MD has put me on Prednisone 2 week complete treatments for about 3 to 4 x a year for more than 2 years. I never had allergies before.
Then I found Magnesium. I see that many are already taking Mg but its the kind with Calcium. Magnesium is the mineral that could lessen the body's sensitivity to allergens (substances that could stimulate immune protective body response such as hives, rashes, asthma, excema etc.). We need to maintain enough Mg in the blood, muscles and brain. It takes 6 months to a year to build up enough Mg to correct deficiency. It takes time to build cause we also use it up everyday. Once Mg is enough in the system you will notice these allergies will subside. There is a Book on Mg called the Magnesium Miracle, also another on Transdermal Mg. It complements each other. To speed building up Mg in the system, I had to use both oral and transdermal forms. Oral being Mg Glycinate 3 caps a day (400 mg Elemental Mg) and also Mg Oil rub to the body as often as you could do it. Please google Mg Deficiency / Allergies. Patience is needed as it will take time, but it will work. Currently, I have no further allergies to anything, I am back to my old self. Thanks to Mg. In time
It is important to maintain the dosage everyday till you feel the change.. you will have stronger immunity. I am taking Mg supplements everyday. It helps in all aspects of life. In memory, lessens stress, helps in sleep, relieves fear of the unknown, depression, tremors, migraines and hundreds more.
MSM

YEA - I have been taking 1000mg MSM each evening to help with hair loss due to low thyroid, but am simply AMAZED at it's efficiency to eliminate seasonal allergy symptoms like runny nose, congestion, itchy eyes, coughing, etc.
If I take it in the AM, I do feel tired through the day, but taking it in the evening aids in sleeping through the night, and eliminates allergy symptons. Who knew?
MSM

I have had seasonal allergies for the past 6-7 years. Earlier this year I read about how MSM can alleviate the symptoms of seasonal allergies, so I decided to give it a try. The allergy season was just starting and I could feel my eyes getting a bit itchy. I started taking 1000 mg of MSM and within 1 hour I was feeling better. It works as well as any OTC allergy medicine with out the negative health effects. As a matter of fact it is supposed to have beneficial health effects. I now take 1000 mg of MSM twice per day and have not had any more symptoms of allergies. I love this stuff.

I have finally managed to control my allergies. After years of suffering with itchy eyes and throat and some of those years sneezing a lot it finally seems to be over. I never had hay fever because I had it the whole year. It was just like an unwanted friend I couldn't get rid of! Last year because of a disease the plane trees near our house had I got even worse.
This is not a recipe for anybody because all allergies are different but it might just give people a few ideas. Right now I am taking 4g Vit. C a day, 800IU of Vit. E, 150mg of Hyaluronic Acid and Fish oil. I have the idea that although I was quite a bit better with all this the big change came when I added a drink of blueberries, MSM, Condroitin and Glucosamin but I don't know.... Could it just have been because I had been taking the rest for a longer period of time? MSM in powder form didn't seem to change anything. I also try to drink a lot of water, took Beers Yeast for awhile, just to be on the safe side I am taking local pollens every morning as well as using unpasteurized local honey in my tea and taking Propolis. Quite a treatment but the bottom line is that I have been feeling fine and I have more energy. I also manage to sleep better most nights!

I have been on allergy medicine for as long as I can remember. I am 36 years old, and after my 2nd pregnancy, it was like nothing was working! I tried prescription strength allergy medication, which felt like it was working for about a week. Every afternoon; and I mean literally every single afternoon, I would feel sick, headaches, neck and shoulders always stiff, tired, struggling to make it through the rest of my day. By 7pm I would be exhausted. I like to work out and still need to lose some baby weight, but I couldn't even attempt it due to my extreme lack of energy. I could barely get through the day with my 4 year old and 16 month old!!!
Completely frustrated, I googled natural cures and found this website. I oil pull with sesame oil every morning, drink water w/ 2 tsp's of ACV & 1 tsp of BSM twice a day, and take cayenne pepper or chew and swallow a garlic clove as needed. Finding this website was an answer to prayer!!! I have even, steady energy throughout the day, have been off of any kind of allergy med's for 3 weeks now ( unheard of for me!! ) am able to get off my birth control pill, which I took because my periods started being SO debilitating, and can take care of my kids, do hair, which is what I do for work, and work out in a day, and feel APPROPRIATELY tired at the end of it! These things work, I will never again depend on traditional medicine, unless it is absolutely necessary, all it did was make me sicker and sicker!!
I praise God for this website, and I have since shared it with several people who were in similar situations, struggling with something that the Dr's prescriptions just weren't fixing, and they are also having great success!! I also am not having severe flour and sugar cravings, and I can see my body finally starting to change shape, just after 2 weeks of working out! This stuff is sooo simple, cheap and easy to do, and completely worth the benefits! I have never felt so good!

Allergies: If you wake up with a heavy head and bad throat which usually causes body ache, try this,
step 1. take hot water mixed with salt, baking soda, lemon juice gargle, clean, wash your toungue, throat, upper part of inside of your mouth, it will make you want to throw up almost, eyes will be so red, but you feel relieved so much, this is cleansing the mouth.
Step 2. put some oil inside your both nostrils almond oil or may be olive oil (we in Southern India use coconut oil) you have to use your fingers as much deep you can reach to do this, then take hot water in a plastic mug which is pointed on one side (or if you can find NETI POT wich is shaped like Alladin's lamp use it) put the hot water inside of one nostril after another tilting your head and drain it out, you will find all the dirt - mucus come out at once, (some water may come into your mouth or through another nose), this you can do two times a day, this is keeping your drainage clean. you will find great relief in your head, eyes, even in shoulders, if the allergy cold is so severe.
Step 3. Take hot boiling steaming water into a wide mouthed vessel, add Vicks or drops of eucalyptus oil (Nilgiri oil) into it, bend your face into it, cover your head surrounding the vessel with a thick towel, inhale the steam as much heat you can take, your forehead, eyes, ear start to feel so much better, this is steam therapy.
I had been to a doctor, who is not able to diagnose my allergy sinus cold properly, instead when he is asking me questions like 'are you feeling depressed' I felt he needs to be sent to a therapy session on how to treat his patients well and listen carefully what they say.
N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)
★★★★★
I have had allergies for years. I developed allergies at the age of 28 and had suffered with them for a long time. Two years ago I brought a book called alterna-tive cures that I have been using for two years now to solve a few of my ailments. In reading the book for allergies NAC (n-acetylcysteine) was suggested for allergies. And it works, because right now the trees are blossoming and flowers as well and this is generally the worst time of year for me, because I suffer with allergies something awful. I have not had a problem with itchy eyes, sneezing, sore scratchy throat and tickling of the throat. I use the recommended dosage that is suggested in the book, but I can't remember what it is. Again, I have been using NAC two years and it has worked well for me.
NAET

Food Allergies and Hay fever Allergies.
I treated myself after viewing Youtube videos of N.A.E.T, (Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Treatment). After performing this procedure to myslef using a muscle massager on key accupunture points of my body, I am almost free of tree pollen allergies. I am no longer allergic to salt (which used to cause large blisters on my tongue when I ate chips and other salty snacks), and I am only slightly affected by dust. I used to be off the charts with allergic reactions to these 3 things. Since I am allergic to chocolate and vitamin C, I will be addressing those next. Awesomely easy and very effective.
If I increase treatments fo the tree pollen and dust I believe I will be fully cured. But it takes a number of treatements, and I was anxious to free myself of other reactive items in my life. I'll return to tree pollen and dust late in the year. I read that this same treatment helps those with autism as well. It has restored sight, reduced pain and other heartbreaking effects from autism that we had no idea they were suffering from...because they were really victims of allergies.

NAET (allergy elimination technique):
My family has been treated of one food intolerance disease, EE, by this treatement called NAET. It is the only known permenant treatment for allergies or intolerances. . .which is just a really severe allergy. My chiropractor does the treatment, and some acupuncturists and acupressurists also do it. I am not yet aware of any celiacs that have been cured, but my chiropractor tells me there is no reason why they couldn't be. It's a simple and painless proceedure that they can do to even a baby. (They did it to my 6 mo. old.) It's usually under $50.00 and can be done in only one session, but you may find them so helpful for that, you go back for other allergies you were only slightly troubled with. I feel our daughters' life was saved by this treatment, and I've talked to others who've said the same. Look up a practitioner in your area if you can, but it is still relatively new, so you may have to travel a bit to find one.
Neti Pot
★★★★★
My allergies were really bad today, woke up with tears coming out of my eyes and snot oozing out of my nose. I have tried up to 3,000mg of MSM to no avail (maybe it's the wrong dosage?) What did work was:
1. Using a Neti pot to clean my nose first.
2. Took a q-tip and dipped it in tea tree oil and lined the inside of my nose with it. Not deep, just around the very opening. It seems to ease the nasal issues for me. The oil is actually very gentle, however you still want to be careful about putting it in too deep. I think the drying mechanism of the oil could be responsible for the relief. There was a period I would get staph infections in and around my nose and I would always dab the tea tree oil on it and after about 2-4 days it would subside.

Allergies: Please, please, please try the "NETI POT" !
Healthfood stores, yoga studios usually have it...it's looks like a tiny tea pot, you fill it with water, add salt, and rinse the nasal passages. It gently washes away dust, pollen, excess mucus. Simple!
All info, saline solution, head position (with pictures), a little breathing exercise after the nasal cleanse is included with the neti pot. Salt can be purchased separately.
P.S. Love this web site, love to learn about natural remedies, and so many good willing people...:)
Thank you EARTHCLINIC for creating a place where our good spirits can meet!
Neti Pot

I have had seasonal outdoor allergies for most of my life due to living in Tennessee, which is known for high pollen counts. I have been able to manage this with over-the-counter medication until this past spring. I got deathly sick after painting a few rooms, pulling up old carpet, sanding some hardwood floors, and then trimming shrubs when the pollen count was high here. I've never had to seek medical attention until this event. I had all of the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, but was coughing my head off to the point of urinating on myself. The mucus was so bad that I was throwing up. With no health insurance or physician, I opted to go to a clinic inside Walgreens. I was placed on a Prednisone Dosepak and an Albuterol inhaler, and was told I had asthma due to allergies. After I took the prescription, I had one good month and then the symptoms returned. I went back to the clinic, and was given the same medication, but was also told to go to the emergency room because I was wheezing in all lobes of my lungs. With no insurance, I opted not to do this. I took the steroids again, but the symptoms came back. I was told I couldn't return to the clinic because asthma was out of their realm. I've been sick for over 5 months. The coughing has been so bad that my ribs feel broken.
I decided to take matters into my own hands. I purchased a Neti Pot (Sinu Cleanse) after seeing it demonstrated on Oprah. I highly recommend this to all! After a few days, it helped with breathing and sinus headache. I'm still doing this 3 times per day. I also found this website, and began the organic apple cider vinegar "cocktail." I use _____'s, and have decided two tablespoons of ACV, 1/4 tsp. baking soda, and one tablespoon of raw honey in 6 ounces of water (3 times daily) works best for me. I heat this in the microwave for 40 seconds to melt the honey. I do this for 6 days on and one day off. I also eat a cracker with no salt on it while drinking this to help offset the taste. I'm on my 3rd week with the ACV, and I feel so much better. For someone who felt on the brink of death and that an ER hospital visit was next, I'm amazed at the results. I'm slowly weaning myself off of the inhaler, but still need it. I'm also taking Mucinex and Zyrtec with the hope of getting rid of it too. I highly validate this ACV remedy to allergy and asthma folks! I will keep it up as a maintenance regimen with hopes I don't get this bad again!
Nettle and Horseradish Tincture
★★★★★
I use a tincture that I make of Stinging Nettle Tea from traditional medicinal. I use all 16 of the bags in a 32 Canning jars. I then add about an 8th of a cup of horseradish powder. I pour Brandy, I don't use Vodka since it gags me. I fill the jar to the bottom of the Rings. I stick this in my dark cupboard after I have shaken it so that it is all mixed together. I shake it daily for 2 weeks.
I take a tsp in a 16 Oz glass of water and ice and as soon as I first sip my sinus clear, my mold caused frog voice is gone. I use it for seasonal allergies, as well as our mobile home had serious mold issues that we have removed, and I used it to help with my severe mold allergy.
I original bought Simpliers Nettle and Radish tincture for many years since it was readily available in Sonoma County CA where they are based and where I grew up. After moving to Northern NV last year, I could not find it anywhere and was upset since I never paid more then $5.99 for an Oz. The only tincture I could locate was at Whole Foods at $15.99 an Oz. Not the same brand. I began making my own this past Springs after coming home from a month in a hospital and having been hit by a car as a pedestrian. My hospital room had moldy ceiling tiles, I was given meds I'm allergic to, was given a bi-polar med when I'm not nor have ever been bipolar.
It's very simple and very effective. I don't use a dropper since it isn't big enough in the beginning of treating my allergies. I do it every few hours as I develop symptoms. I finally after a week I become able to go much longer in between doses. With seasonal allergies, 2-3 weeks usually did me until the following year.

I have posted about nettle many times in the past. I have used it for my children for allergies for years. My allergies this spring have been very bad. I think having an indoor cat this year has really aggravated my allergies in general. But this cat is part of the family. If she jumps in my lap my nose starts running. We did get a HEPA filter for our central air/heat unit. And I started to take nettle. I take once capsule morning and evening. This reduces my symptoms at least 90%. ~Mama to Many~
