Turpentine and Kerosene Remedies

Parasites   3  0

Posted by Patricia (Las Vegas, NV) on 06/25/2014

[YEA]  OMIGOSH. What a miracle this is. Just the fact that this turpentine treatment found me is pretty mind-blowing. I've been struggling with a intense parasite infestation since I lived in Honduras more than 25 years ago. Done and done and done everything I could find.

Appreciate all the instructions and suggestions I found here…as usual, a very informed group.

Day Five: I slept soundly for 8 uninterrupted hours! Woke refreshed. Have had clean energy without caffeine all day. No post lunch nap attack.

Day 3 I got a little over confident since I was doing so well…took a full tsp of turpentine with oj in the morning. Oops. Massive herx.

The next morning I came out of it by taking sodium ascorbate and some IP-6. Have felt great since.

Used molasses and coconut oil for a carrier.

I'll report my progress next week. Amazing turn around in only 5 days. Who knew a 7 buck can of turpentine could restore your health? My Diamond G just arrived in today's mail. Switching to that for internal.

Thanks all very much.

[YEA]   I heard if you have a very high level of toxicity from parasites or such and you neglect to make sure your bowels are clear to allow the parasites to exit you could temporarily get a black spot from the turpentine cleansing effect. just make sure you are able to expel the parasites and toxins through your bowels. warm water enemas work well for this. Parasites exist with Lyme, Candida, Malaria, Giardia, and many more conditions.

[SIDE EFFECTS]  Hi Bill: I have been using turpentine successfully for some time. Now when I take it my teeth turn a black tinge and my tongue turns the same in the middle. Also its like the cells on my tongue get a little longer. its weird and disturbing. Also, it takes about a week without Turpentine for it to go away. I don't want to stop as the results were spectacular.

thanks in advance for any thoughts you have, Mary

Hi Mary...In my own continued use of turpentine, in all the research and articles I've seen and read, in the autism group that are also using the turpentine protocol, I have never come across those symptoms that you describe when supplementing turpentine.

I have no idea what turpentine dose you are taking so here are some reminders and caveats:

* You should only ever take Turpentine at a maximum frequency of twice a week. The adult dose is 1 teaspoon. Work up to the one teaspoon dose slowly.

* You should also take castor oil with the turps dose. The castor oil dose can vary from 1 tablespoon(mild laxative) to 4 tablespoons(strong laxative). You can mix in a little honey or BSM for taste.

* Under no circumstances should you be taking turpentine continually on a daily basis for extended periods. For serious problems, the maximum number of consecutive days allowed for supplementing turps is 7 days only.

Dr Jennifer Daniels does report that in one case she had a woman who initially ignored her advice and who took too high a dose of turpentine to start with and she had black areas on her skin andface as a result due to excessive detox through the skin. These black areas all disappeared when she reduced her dose. Dr Daniels article is here.

Thank you Bill: you could be right and maybe I took too much. I have since stopped and will be very methodical when I resume. I got mine at home Depot which is where Tony Pantelleresco gets his. He is the Healing With Turpentine Man on You Tube (Canada). Oddly enough I had this same reaction to a product formulated to "Solvent Remove", so somehow I believe this is related to my liver, as the product was full of sulfer type amino acids like NAC, Methionine etc. When I asked my naturopath what happened he had no answer.

Next time I try I will have the Diamond G Forest Products one.

I will report on my progress.

Thank you so much for your time Bill. I always like reading your posts and learn sooo much.

I actually think the main reason the lady's skin turned black was because she had not prepared properly beforehand with a good raw diet, but had not ensured her gut was clear so the toxins had a clear 'escape route'....

Turpentine   0  0

Posted by Conner (United Kingdom) on 09/12/2014

Hi, recently, well today, I've came across Turpentine for Candida. Would this be safe for an 18 year old to consume and if so how much should I take? Here is what I have, which may or may not help:

  • white tongue
  • psoriasis on scalp/forehead
  • brain fog
  • strained eyes / losing vision!
  • on my left leg, by the shin, I get muscle spasms
  • irregular BM
  • very tired

Thank you so much.

Hi Conner...Canada Turpentine or Canada Balsam(Terebinthina Canadensis) is well known in old western medical pharmacopia and is derived from the fir tree. See this description. I prefer to use the pure gum spirit of turpentine from the pine tree.

It seems, from all your symptoms, that you probably do have candida problems. The muscle spasms you are having are probably due to a lack of magnesium and/or a lack of potassium in your diet. To confirm whether you have candida for yourself(since doctors are so hopeless at accurately diagnosing candida problems), you should take this free questionnaire online(which is based on Dr William Crook's questionnaire for diagnosing andconfirming candida):

Candida Questionnaire

You also stand a good chance of having low thyroid or hypothyroid condition due to the effects of candida waste toxins in the blood. So your immune system will also probably be impaired.

Since you live in UK, I would simply use the Myland's brand of pure gum turpentine which is made in UK. Just do a google search on "Myland's Turpentine" to find UK vendors.

You can also use Kerosene to help get rd of candida:

Kerosene: The Universal Healer

If you do have systemic candida, I've posted my full protocol here on EC. See this link. I've also written a book which is sold on EC and amazon.com that goes into much more detail about candida as a pathogen and also provides and describes a more focused multi-protocol to get rid of this disease. The point I'm making here is that systemic candida can be extremely hard to defeat. So taking just one thing against serious candida issues usually will not cure this problem -- the candida either never goes away completely or it just keeps comes back. That's why you really need to follow a more focused multi-nutrient protocol to get rid of this disease. You will need to use other candida killers such as lugol's iodine, borax, alkalizing etc as well as following a special diet with lifestyle changes for a successful outcome.

Turpentine Bath   3  0

Posted by Gigi815 (Edison, Nj) on 03/01/2014

[YEA]  I tried the shot glass of gum spirits in the tub. Soaked for about 20 minutes, felt good. Came out, my skin is so soft it's unbelievable. Will continue at least once a week in a bath. Also started to take internally. No problems, had some slight burning around the heart area. My doctor told me one of my values were a little thick, but that was "normal" for someone "my age, 55". (Didn't like that) Anyway, thinking the gum spirits is working on the area that needs fixing. Will continue with 1/2 teaspoon and build up. Will see how it goes.

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]   I've tried turpentine bath 2x a week for 2 weeks now. It has good and not so good result for me. Yes, there was a tingly feeling on the inner thigh area every time I bathe, but it's not a biggy. Definitely, alleviates my lower back pain and relaxes my whole body, no doubt. Feeling very clean and removes all the crap out of my skin. Will continue doing it...

However, every time I bathe, after a couple of hours, I got flaky scalp. Not sure if it's too strong for the scalp or my head develops the flakes/dandruff fighting the bacteria/crap. Well, I was hoping that turps bath will heal my dandruff issue instead of getting more… Any other thoughts from people who has same issue? Thanks Bill for this helpful information.

It is VERY important to use only special tonics on a base of vegetable turpentine (not a turpentine itself). These tonics were invented by Russian doctor Zalmanov over 60 years ago and the method is very popular in Russia and Europe.

They are two types of tonics - white and yellow. The white one increases blood pressure and the yellow one decreases. And also you must follow the procedure and schemes.

Do search Google for turpentine bath procedure or turpentine bath tonic.

[WARNING!]  Much too strong a reaction. Very unpleasant. If used, only use a very small amount. Two thirds of a shotglass produced a very itching, tingling and burning reaction on my legs. I used coconut oil to calm them down. I cannot recommend this based on my unpleasant reaction.

You had this reaction because of the incorrect way of using turpentine for bath. It is not soluble in water so you must use a special emulsion in a gum turpentine base.

Also it it a special procedure not just laying in water with turpentine.

This is a link which may be useful.

I can't have a bath where I live because everyone prefers showers in hot tropical countries like the Philippines. So I don't have a bath in my house.

So how I do it is to have a shower and just mix some drops of turps in with the soap in my hands and then wash my body down like that. The turps becomes emulsified by the soap into tiny droplets when you do this and it mixes in more thoroughly with the water and soap so it spreads better over the skin.

But just pouring a shot glass into a bath is also not really recommended. Better to add ordinary pine oil bubble bath into the bath first -- or add some soap to the bath water -- that will emulsify the turps into tiny droplets that will actually help to spread the turps around in the bathwater more thoroughly.

If you don't use the soap, the turps just tends to sit and tends to concentrate on the top of the water anyway because it is so insoluble in water. So it doesn't really spread down into the bath water where you want it to be.

In older times, the doctors regularly advised turpentine/water enemas. But they would always advise that you mix the turps and water with a little bit of soap because it helps to emulsify and spread the turps into the water as tiny droplets, making the enema much more effective. Same principle for taking a turps bath.

No, taking shower with a mixture of soap and few drops of gum turpentine is not the same as taking a turpentine bath.

The volume of water in a bath works as vacuum cleaner helping to clean the body through your skin. After having a turpentine bath you must have a rest about 1 hour in warm bed. This is a procedure protocol.

You must use only special tonics on a base of vegetable turpentine (not a turpentine itself). These tonics were invented by Russian doctor Zalmanov over 60 years ago and very popular in Russia and Europe.

[YEA]  5 years ago, I was in so much pain and as soon as I started coffee enema, pain was gone, but it was very difficult to increase my natural energy. I got pure gum spirit of turpentine. I put about 100 ml in a bath. Please start with a shot glass. It can get very hot. Turpentine is very very potent. I felt all my cells and muscles start pumping like earthquake. I mean that was strong pumping. even after coming out of the bathtub my body cells were pumping one more hours.. I think this is much stronger than getting a strong body massage.

I did this 2 days in a row and I have this tremendous eneregy that I had not felt in my entire life.

A few things that I added DMSO, Auarium salt (superior salt I can't complement enough) Magnesium chlrorite, methylene blue, on top of turpentine. First day I only used turpentine and the second day I added them. I felt much less discomfort with the second day.

Please be cautious of the turpentine amount. Very very potent. Because it was my first try I got scared whether I used too much or not. It turned out I was fine.

I felt so great afterwards. I also did this. I had pine essential oil. And I used several drops for half liter of water and aquarium salt and I did enema. Great. This is a very mild solution. Absolutely great. There is some magic power in pine oil. Oh, just only 2 days after, my flat belly is even more flater and smaller waist line. I mean I don't understand why every woman is not having a turpentine bath.

One more thing. Be prepared to sweat. Because it will make you! I love love love turpentine bath. and it is so cheap. a quart is less than 7 dollars from home depot. Pine essential oil is a little more. And this quart of turpentine includes potent, very potent healing power.

I mean it makes sense. Illness is so widespeared. If you were God, wouldn't you also make ths cure accessible everywhere? such things like pine trees?

From my experience the cure is not from rare or expensive sources. which is a very good news for humanity.

Turpentine Carrier Oil   0  0

Posted by Marcin (Toronto, Canada) on 03/10/2015

Hi Bill,

Since I have a gallbladder problem and are unable to digest fats (any fatty foods cause instant diarrhea and terrible abdominal pain) I am a bit concerned about taking turpentine with castor oil. Is there any other carrier I can use? I am also wondering why do I have the gallbladder problem. Scan has shown that I have a small cyst in my gallbladder, but I am sure it is not a stone because I have a good low-fat diet. However, my gallbladder function is definitely compromised, it seems like it does not produce enough bile to digest fatty foods.

Hi Marcin...If you are wary of the castor oil in the turpentine remedy then just take the turpentine with sugar or molasses. Take a teaspoon of sugar or molasses into your mouth first then add the turpentine and mix them together. Then swallow it and chase it down with some water.

Since you have a suspect gall bladder problem, I would also take Chanca piedra(CP) tea 3 or 4 times a day. CP will help to dissolve and remove any gallstone or kidney stone. CP also acts to reduce calcium in the blood. Cysts always contain calcium which is usually due to high calcium levels in the blood and body. CP will also help to reduce calcium levels in the blood. It will also reduce blood sugar, blood pressure and blood fats. I would also try and reduce dairy(excess calcium) in your diet which always tends to promote cysts and stones in the body. Taking magnesium citrate (250 mgs twice a day) should also help to regulate your body calcium back to healthier levels again. Lugol's Iodine(50 mgs per day) will also help to get rid of cysts and tumors but I think that you are already taking this one.

Thank you for the advice, but I just realized I had made a mistake in my post. What I have in my gallbladder is not a cyst, but a polyp. But I guess that CP might still be of help because of its bile duct relaxing properties.

Turpentine Contraindications   0  0

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site (and turpentine) and I decided to join because this looks like a good place for valid information regarding turpentine usage. I know that turpentine is xenobiotic and I am on a couple of Rx meds. Does anyone know what the timing/spacing should be?

I have lyme and co-infections and would like to know if anyone is using turpentine for the same reason, and if successes/failures can be shared.

I appreciate any input.

Hi Denise...Supplementing Turpentine has the effect of cleansing the bowels and purifying the blood. I have never read any research where turpentine has ever caused damage to nerves. The neuropathy problem that you mention is usually normally caused by the Hepatitis C virus.

The symptoms you might experience are a wooziness and drowsiness when you take too much turpentine because turpentine also has a sedative effect. Turpentine also can have a laxative effect, but I have only ever experienced a slight loosening of the stools when I took 2 tspns of turpentine in one go(double the normal dose). And if there is any ongoing disease in the blood or bowels, such as Hepatitis C, then you may well get a Herx or die-off reaction as well.

You can also take turpentine baths if you wish. Add one or two small shot glasses of turpentine into the bath and stay in the bath for about 1/2 hour. The iso-penenes in turpentine, the main beneficial ingredients, are also easily absorbed through the skin.

For interests sake, and to allay any fears, medical doctors commonly used and recommended internal teaspoon dosages of turpentine in the past.

Here are some examples of older turpentine usage and dosages:

The US Dispensatory 1918 - Turpentine Properties

Hi Denise...Generally, nueropathy problems are fairly commonplace with Hepatitis C patients. This is called Cryoglobulinemia and results from the immune system cryoglubulins "globbing" in the blood vessels and causing inflammation affecting the nerves.

Regarding your more recent post, it is unfortunate that you have had such a reaction to the turpentine from taking such small drop dosages. Turpentine also has mild diuretic action, which means that it expels water and minerals from the body. Normally this does not cause problems(from my own experience), but if your main electrolytes(calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium) are out of balance then cramping in the body will occur. Lack of magnesium and/or potassium in the body are favourites for causing cramp.

Turpentine is also a wide-action pathogen killer. When pathogens are killed in high numbers then poisons will be released from the destroyed pathogens that can also give added or increased symptoms which can be severe. This is called the Herx effect. Furthermore, if your liver is weak or insufficient and has difficulty clearing these poisons then this may also give other added symptoms.

I must also add that turpentine acts to expel xenobiotics -- it will remove any synthetic drug or poison which the body does not recognize. This would also put a strain on the liver. I have no idea whether you are taking synthetic ribovarin or interferon, but turpentine may well act to also expel them from the body. So, if you are also taking these drugs, then you should not be taking the turpentine.

Perhaps you should investigate Oscar's BHT Remedy or Ted's Lysine, Threonine and Vitamin C remedies for Hepatitis C. These options should not generally give you such severe problems.

Hi Tony....Turpentine/Kerosene both act as a diuretic and they expel xenobiotics. They generally function to cleanse the intestines and purify the blood.

Here are some testimonials from Eastern Europe on the use of Kerosene and what it helps to cure (including high blood pressure):

Kerosene Testimonials

Contra-indications between natural nutrients and drugs is always a problem. But whereas natural remedies tend to treat the core reasons for disease, drugs for chronic diseases are generally always palliative -- they only ever treat the symptoms.

What I'm saying here is that although these medical drugs might make you feel better, they do not treat the core reasons for you problems -- especially for heart disease and depression. So, if you continue to use these drugs, then further down the timeline these conditions are bound to get worse(because drugs do not treat the core reason -- they do not cure) and you will have to buy more and more drugs which fits the business profit model of the drugs companies perfectly.

In terms of drugs for serious chronic diseases, since a cure is generally out of the picture, we are not really patients -- we are just consumers.

Hi Josh1875...A burning sensation when peeing indicates acid blood. Turpentine also acts as a diuretic -- it clears excess water(and minerals) from the blood. I never have a burning sensation when peeing after I take Turpentine. So the answer to this problem is simply to alkalize the blood by taking either the sodium bicarbonate(baking soda) with water remedy or by taking the ACV, bicarbonate and water remedy as shown here on EC. This should help to reduce the burning.

Being unable to pee is also indicative of either an infection in the bladder or prostatitis so I would get your bladder checked to be safe. Nutrients that will help with bladder infections are cranberry juice and/or D-Mannose. Larger dose Lugol's iodine (at least 8 drops or 50 mgs a day in split doses) will help both against bladder infections and help against prostatitis.

Research evidence has shown that Iodine prevents and reduces cysts in fibrocystic breast disease, uterine fibroid and prostate cyst formation (prostatitis). See this research.

Turpentine in the Nose   1  0

Posted by Lori (America) on 01/15/2015

[YEA]  A doctor for NASA sent me a product. He said when they send astronauts into space they can't have them get sick. He said the germs that make people sick first incubate in the back of the throat where the nose and ears meet, where you can't reach gargling. His product was a small tincture, the instructions were to put drops in your nose so it will reach the place in the back of the throat. That was the best product. It cleared that space of mucus instantly. It wasn't for sale after I ran out I couldn't get any more.

After I started turpentine, I tried it in my nose. Now I know what the secret ingredient was that the product the NASA Dr used: turpentine, not even diluted. It works great.

Dear Denise, it sounds to me like the turpentine altered your brain chemistry and pulled out essential minerals like magnesium and potassium. Perhaps it even depleted your serotonin levels. I would take potassium and mag asap and also an electrolyte drink. If that doesn't help, try omega 3 oils. Of course, don't take any more turpentine. What as the brand you were taking? That might be helpful to know too. Hope you feel better soon!

From my experience, the negative effects are mostly die-off from herx effets and chage significantly with time. I am 10 months in with avg-. 14+ net grams of VitC in ascorpbic acid/soy lecithin /water mix 40/60/1000 grams aa/lec/water - I take a water bottle full to work each day, and drink it out of the fridge while at home.

My cleansing program is augmented by essential oils - oregano/lavendar/eucolyptus and occasional tbsp of turpentine.

The symptomas continue to change with time. And last week it was open sores with yellow scabs on my eyel lids as stuff leaches from the eye area. I suspect I had systemic candida and a healthy latent herpes, but the full bloom of crap comes out. For a few days last August, my TB Scrub mark on my right shoulder bloomed, then receded, and that must go back to 3rd grade or so in 1967....

My sense of urgency for finding a solution came from early 50's return to long distance sports, aqnd a resultant problem with recurrring attacks of stuff after 5 hours of biking coupled with triathalon gels (high sugar intake) and occasional wierd stuff like a salad triggering 3 days of skin hives. Having suffered off and on from eczema all my life, but ditchig the cortizone in my 20's, and coping well 30-48 ba avoiding certain foods, my decline seemed rto come from travellig in Africa in 2010 - or more precisely the batch of shorts that I had to get. Eversince - a sence of fatigue, exhaustion, one triathlon I did I could hardly keep my head lifted up on the vbike from muscle aoureness and fatigue- as if my body was just saturated with lactic acid.

Fancy Nutritrionists and other allergist tests found nothing conclusive; the head of dermatology told me that they just don't know, but only know how to suppress the symtoms so peopole can cope.

SO I said to myself, after seeing the speel on High Dose VIt C and reearching Dr Klemmmer etc, that I would do vit C high dose for a while, which has now become a commitment for one year----- Inititially I lost my voice for 2 weeks and watched crap climb out my throat, 2 months in it was the jaw dental area, and for months now it seems to be a never ending story with the CSF zone (brain salid). Further desperation leads to new things..... with TURP taken orally, oe of the furst times, I had a sensation of a school of stuff rapidly migrating down my inner left crotch ind ito my thigh... alll in the sub skin fat tissue..... Other things are seemingly residual continuation of stuff leacing out of the joint areas (biofilms in the joints) and now with turpentine the sensation that nerve ends come alive with crawlies when I antagonize the system with lavendar oil or turp taken orally or under the tongue....

All col stuff...... and so far my health has no serious problems from attacking the pasasitick world from within..... force the demons out I presume is better than driving them deep with superficial symptom supression.

Keep on keepin on. Fight the fight and grow stronger. I always have to go back and remind myself that in the beginning the status quo was no longer surcivable and I had to do something. Today I sleep better and have a whole slew of tools to find relief ( hot salt baths, hot showers, topical coconut oil with oregano oil. topical turpentine on crazy itch symtpms works like a charm)

Go for it. After months of severe plaque head psoriasis, my head scratching continues, but the plaque is completely gone. I think my one year of cleaning 54 years of life out of the system will indeed pay off.

I have candida & parasite problems. Instead of starting at 1/4 tsp of turp could I start at an amount of DROPS & take it each day? Or is twice a week the only recommendation? Thank you for this site.

I've tried turp before, taking only about 7 drops each day. It seemed my heart rate and blood pressure would go crazy! Any ideas on that? Thank you

Hi Lorik...If you have serious systemic candida and other pathogenic infections in your body and if you take turpentine for the first time, you will usually always get a Herx reaction which is caused by heavy die-off of pathogens with release of poisons.

Turpentine also removes biofilms with consequent large release of stored heavy metals into the body also causing other strange symptoms. When candida in particular is killed in large numbers by the turps, there is an even heavier release of candida poisons into the body. So, for a little while, you will feel worse -- with heart palpitations, higher BP and other strange symptoms, until your body has had time to clear these poisons from the body.

So the least you should do is to incorporate additional protocols like molybdenum to neutralize the candida poisons as well as use chlorella or kelp or spirulina to help detox and transport the heavy metals out of you body safely.

I don't really think that you will get very far in you candida remedy if you just use candida-kill remedies on their own. Not enough. You will need to do much more than that and use a much wider and more focused protocol to cure serious systemic candida issues which is why I always favour a multi-protocol approach. My full anti-candida protocol is shown about a quarter way down on this EC page:

Hello Bill,

You seem to be the expert in this group, so I will address this email to you.

I have candida and parasite (and lyme w/ co-infections) and I would like to use turpentine to address these. I have read Dr. Daniels' protocol but I don't like the idea to ingesting all that sugar. I have hyperinsulinemia and Diabetes type 2 from the lyme, so a lot of sugar consumption is not good.

I started my first dose of turpentine this AM -source from Georgia- and only took 1/4 tsp with 1 tsp coconut syrup (lower glycemic index) and 1 tsp avocado oil, chased it down with some liquid. I did not eat any food. I immediately became dizzy.

According to Dr. Daniels, becoming dizzy means that the turpentine went into the system too quickly and that not enough stayed in the gut. This defeats the very purpose that I'm trying to accomplish, namely keeping it in the gut to kill candida/parasites. I bought your book the other day so I can't use it as a resource for the moment. What am I doing wrong and what would you recommend?

Thank you.

Hi Emma...The reason you become drunk or dizzy when you took the turpentine is not directly because of the turpentine itself but because of its rapid-kill effect on large numbers of parasites, candida, viruses and bacteria in your body. And when killed in such large numbers, candida releases aldehydes and alcohol poisons into the blood that will mentally and physically affect you.

I've been working with autistic children who are also taking turpentine and this has more extreme behavioural effects on a child's mind and body like stimming, aggression, repetitive behaviours, not speaking, wild behaviour etc. This is due to the effects of these alcohols and aldehydes on their developing brains. By the way, these children get exactly the same mental symptoms if they take MMS -- so these mental effects are actually caused by the pathogen die-off(Herx effect). This Herx or die-off effect is fairly prominent and should always be expected when you are initially killing such a wide range of pathogens as occurs in Lyme disease.

The effect of supplementing turpentine(or MMS) is necessarily different in an adult because adult brains are fully developed whereas a young child's brain is still developing. So, in an adult, the symptoms will manifest as feeling dizzy or drunk because of the aldehydes and alcohols released by the dead candida. Mood(depression) may also be affected.

If you wish to keep most of the turps to act in the gut then take the turps with castor oil. All the reasons for this are given in detail here.

The Turpentine Protocol is shown here. Take turpentine/CO three times a week(on a day on, day off basis) -- take it twice at the maintainance dose(1 tspn turps + 1 tablespoon CO) and once at the full laxative dose(1 tspn turps + 3 to 4 tablespoons CO) every week.

CO is a laxative and helps to disperse the turps rapidly throughout the whole intestines. The CO also inhibits the turpentine being absorbed into the blood -- so the turps mainly acts throughout the intestines.

So perhaps you should try taking the turpentine/CO protocol as advised above.

I bought the turpentine labeled Pure Gum Spirits... I saw the one that said 100% tree resin also. I decided that I would try a little bit in my bath water before I tried to ingest it. WHEEW~ the smell was pretty strong and it somehow did not strike me as a "natural smell" I changed my mind to even bathe in a little bit. I emptied the tub and noticed that my 100 year old cast iron porcelain clawfoot tub with some pretty awful mineral build up seemed to be looking a little better where I had splashed the turpentine.I grabbed some plain steel wool and went to work. I had tried all the stuff advertised for rust and stains and soap scum etc... etc.. and a whole bunch of home cleaners...including our friend vinegar.....but nothing worked like that straight up turpentine! ( Had to rinse it pretty good) BUT -- My tub looks fabulous!

It is a solvent so that makes sense! Thank you for helping me stumble onto this use for the turpentine. I still am going to wait for awhile before imbibing on it, and maybe I will order that organic brand from Georgia!
