"Colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. A colloid is technically defined as particles which remain suspended without forming an ionic, or dissolved solution. The broader commercial definition of "colloidal silver" includes products that contain various concentrations of ionic silver, silver colloids, ionic silver compounds or silver proteins in purified water...
Concentrations of colloidal silver at 5 parts per million or higher have been found to kill numerous infectious bacteria. Prior to 1938, colloidal silver was widely used by physicians as a mainstream antibiotic. It was produced by pharmaceutical companies under various names, including Protargol and Argyrol. But the material was costly and the pharmaceutical industry developed fast-acting, less-expensive sulfa drugs and penicillin. Colloidal silver has been approved by the EPA as a disinfectant for hospitals and medical centers.
Compounds of silver also have a long history in medicine. Silver nitrate solutions were introduced by Crede in 1880 to protect newborn infants' eyes from infection, but have largely been replaced by antibiotic ointments since 1978. (Silver nitrate solutions are not the same thing as a suspension of colloidal silver.) Silver-containing cremes such as silver sulfadiazine have been used in burn centers for more than 100 years." The paper discusses the possible toxicity of silver, and appears to indicate that argyria is the first observable undesirable consequence of silver ingestion, and that an individual would have to ingest much more silver than the amount that causes argyria in order to achieve the next undesireable consequences: "In laboratory species, the effects of silver toxicity have been reported to involve pathology to the liver (necrosis) and kidney (thickening of the basement membranes of the glomeruli), and, at elevated levels, death." The paper indicates animals do not appear to react to silver the way people do, and therefor make poor test subjects.
The paper states:
"3. Aggregate cancer risk for U.S. population. Available animal and
human experience through occupational and medicinal exposure scenarios
have not indicated a carcinogenic potential for silver. Therefore,
silver is not expected to be carcinogenic to humans particularly in
light of its low systemic toxicity potential and our understanding of
its metabolism.
4. Determination of safety. Based on these risk assessments, EPA
concludes that there is reasonable certainty that no harm will result
to the general population or to infants and children from aggregate
exposure to silver residues."

Then in January of this year I was took I had MRSA and then a month later my 20 year old daughter found out she had it.She had a boil in the front between her legs and and on the sids of her finger nails. We both have trouble with bandaid. They leave marks on the skin, but not on the bottom. In March I went to a Health Food Store to buy something I read about and a clerk told me about his staph he had and what he used. I bought hight potent Colloidal Silver (500ppm) and MSM lotion. He told me to take a MSM lotion in my hand and a drop of Colloidal Silver, mix it together and rub it on my boil. It worked on my side boil, but not on my bottom because anything I put on my bottom will be saoked up and the boil gets bigger. I put a drop of the Colloidal silver on my finger and rub it in and it works. I only use it when the boil is small. I even take 3 drops by mouth 2-3 times a day all the time and my boils are geting smaller.
I was told by a doctor not to soak in a hot bath because you can reinfect the boil and that is true. I stoped going that and my boils don't get as big. I even found out by using a hot compress it does the same thing(boil gets bigger) Now I jut use Colloidal Silver, cover it and forget about it and it goes away faster."

After 1-2 hr it stops hurting, stops "growing". Up to 3 days it subsides to red spot. You can use small hair spry bottle (with very fine mist like spry). If you have acne or boils more then one and you expect more to show up spray it on your skin just once and let it dry. Nothing will break out! I suffered for almost 30 years from something what doctor called "diaper rush" (!). The pic of my "diaper rush" was always during summer months. I was suffering from monthly (sometimes twice monthly) chest infections, and had to take antibiotics for every outbreak and becoming more and more resistant and sensitive to the drugs. I started using Colloidal Silver in my nebuliser about a year ago now and have not had a chest infection since. As soon as I feel my sputum changing (from clear to yellow) I use the colloidal silver and the infection does not develop any further. My doctor offered to give me an injection containing a steroid (I believe she said), but I told her I preferred not to have that and I'd see how it went. The next day my ears felt full and plugged up, with mild pain. I imagine they were infected. I sprayed Colloidial Silver in each ear - about 3 sprays in each ear and allowed it to get inside, tilting my head to each side for a few minutes. I lived alone with no real friends in Reno so I read up and selected Colloidal Silver as the best bet. I went and picked up some high quality Colloidal Silver. Within a few hours the flu symptoms were gone. I tend to be minimal with medicine so I only used the silver when I felt bad. No flu yet this season.
I used a teaspoon several times a day of a top rated brand. I also could not afford to keep buying it so I bought 2 Canadian silver dollars and made my own machine. I am an electronics tech and did well in my college chemistry so it seemed obvious how to build a device that would yield a higher percentage of true colloidal over an ionic solution. You MUST use distilled water and shiny clean electrodes. I heated my water and drove off the dissolved gasses. I used a 30V square wave at about 50kHz to theoretically dislodge microscopic particals of silver into the solution. After about 4-6 hours the electrodes start showing some corrosion and have used that as my finish point. It has worked as well as the store bought solution at a fraction of the cost. I have been giving out bottles to people I'm starting to know and to date, none of them have gotten sick from the flu this year."

For those of you suffering from spasms and muscle aches I found that Magnesium 400 mg and Malic Acid 600 mg 3x per day last dose before bed is most beneficial.
I am in the belief that my FMS symptoms and the chronic fatigue were a combination brought on by a severe systemic candidiasis condition. Suppliments along with the diet really made a difference for me.

However, whenever possible, topical application is much safer than ingestion, and 1 tsp 5 times per day for 3 months can be toxic rather than beneficial. The build-up of silver in the blood has been known to turn the skin a very un-becoming shade of blue-gray that is IRREVERSIBLE. With this product, as in all aspects of life, use in moderation, and with caution to be safe."

I had some kind of terrible itching "down there" which I think first started out as the result of an abrasion that wasn't healing properly, and then got worse because of a reaction to the ultra cheap toilet paper at work. This was getting worse over the course of several weeks.
I got some relief from colloidal silver applied topically. I did that for a couple of days and it was helping. Then I mixed some colloidal silver and some tea tree oil with some aloe vera gel, and applied that, it was way too strong, but even though it had a warm sensation and I wanted to rinse most of it off right away it gave immediate and lasting relief from the itching. The next day I took some of the too-strong mixture and diluted it in some unscented lotion (Nature's Gate brand, very mild). I have been using that for a couple of days after showering and it is amazing how effective it is. No more itching and everything is healing nicely. Worked great. Could you please give any specific info on the practical application aspects of using the colloidal silver externally: Did your friend mix it with some lotion or aloe vera and what ratio, how often she use it, what things worked or didn't work,etc? All details welcome no matter how trivial they may seem. Also have you compared the quality of the brands (do you know anything about that)? I don't yet have enough money to buy the machine. There are different types of machines too and I wasn't sure about the quality of colloidal silver they produce, though I know some are definitely better than others. The best, most effective CS will have on the label 99.99% Pure Silver (not 99.9% but 99.99%)Sovereign Silver is the brand name we used initially, but my husband actually put together a machine that makes colloidal silver and we've kept the flu at bay very well this year. We take about a teaspoon under the tongue, once a day generally, and more often if we are around sick people, or beginning to feel unwell ourselves.
Topically, just put it on wherever needed. You can mix it with something, but not necessary. Pour it into a cotton ball and dab on the place where you need it. Or take it by mouth, which will get into your system and help whatever is affecting your skin."

It cures any infection I've tried it on. Things I have cured with it are, tooth or gum infections, ingrown toe nails, flu, food poisoning, ear, eye, sinus infections. I use it on everything. I find it much better than any antibiotic with few reactions. The only bad reaction I notice is when taken internally. It slows the bowl action due to killing bacteria internally. The way I start a treatment? If it's an internal problem drink about 8oz of colloidal silver.Then about every hour drink about four ozs during the waking hours.You will see a difference soon. While silver's a great antibiotic, it's also a metal and something we don't flush back out of our systems very easily; it will accumulate, like lead, mercury and several other metals, within our tissues. The reason we don't have silver warnings written all over everything is it's rare and hard enough that it doesn't typically enter the system in such concentrations as to be damaging; however, to use it internally, or to use it on membranous tissues, makes it possible for it to concentrate to such a degree as to do more harm than help. Thus I wouldn't advocate the use of colloidal silver except in topical conditions, such as a surface skin infection, away from eyes, nose, mouth and any similar mucus membranes.
Remember, just because something occurs in nature doesn't mean it can't be bad for you. The trick is finding what would occur in a human body in nature, and with metals that usually means exceedingly small amounts."

The discomfort is almost gone. I also feel calmer and more sure of myself. Have less mental fog. Correct me if I'm wrong, aren't zinc, copper, magnesium, and chromium also metals that our bodies need? We know that there are ways of removing heavy metals from our systems; there must be a way to remove unnecessary silver as well."

[SIDE EFFECTS] 07/13/2009: Julles from Portsmouth, England writes: "First I took hydrogen peroxide for 3 weeks, for what seemed like flu, and candida, and I have hypothothyroidism and I get very cold on public transport, the windows being wide open in all weathers , and I also live in a draughty and cold house, the hydrogen peroxide didnt seem to be working fast enough, or the cider vinegar or the cayenne - so I got some collidal silver, as I suffered from these conditions for way too long now, and take 1 teaspoon of colloidal silver twice a day, as I catch cold easily, probably due to faulty amalgums.
I did not expect to experience very bad cold sweats, and nausea, this coldness and sweat will not go away, and is very debilitating resulting in many changes of clothes, also aching gums, and tiredness, is this a continuing herxeimer effect, or am I not doing something right? I have a healthy diet with lots of fruit and veg, and have lately started taking live yogurt, and also lemon juice."

It would be wise to take just one for awhile and wait for its results and then change to another. When I started taking Colloidal Silver I stopped taking the apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. Before taking the CS I had a unusual pain in my chest area behind my left breast. When I started taking the CS the pain started moving until it was over my right breast. I pondered what to do, stop taking or keep taking the silver. In the meantime, I always developed this belching problem when I started on the CS. I decided to keep taking it b/c I felt strongly it was doing my body some good. After 2 weeks the pain that I had been experiencing in my chest for several yrs now is completelt GONE!!! And the belching has decreased quite a bit. I believe CS is good for human comsumption, but one much use good common sense and use it wisely. If the pain in my chest had increased after 2 wks I would have stopped taking the silver. Personally, I feel it cleaned out my arteries. Oh, I use to get mouth cankers that last at least 3 miserible weeks. I got one last one that never fully developed and it is totally gone! And a big bottle of colloidal minerals with humic acid. I asked the clerk if they sold humic acid and she said no, but when I read the ingredients in the colloidal minerals it was on the list. I took a teaspoon of silver the first day and felt my sinus and sore throat getting better soon afterward. One more dose yesterday, plus two tablespoons of colloidal minerals, in water, and an iodine pill (5 mg as molecular iodine, 5 mg as sodium iodide, and 2.5 mg as potassium iodide = 8,333% of US daily value), and a half teaspoon of ascorbic acid. One teaspoon magnesium sulfate before bed. The same today minus the ascorbic acid and magnesium sulfate. The nagging sore throat and sinus infection that I've been battling for about a year feels like it's finally going away.
It feels sometimes like the bones in my jaw and sinus ache though. But not at the moment, so maybe it hurt like that because of the ascorbic acid. The 3,000 mg of ascorbic acid didn't help my mood like the 3,000 mg of pills with the rose hips do. And both give me a little bladder/urinary tract pain. So maybe it's too acidic. I was trying to avoid the additives by using ascorbic acid powder. My midsection is visibly slimmer this morning, yay!"

I have used it topically to treat skin infections, ear infections, and conjunctivitis. But it is very effective at treating stomach viruses too. At the first sign of upset, I can drink about an ounce and be "cured." If I don't catch it early, I sometimes I will still feel ill 3 hours later and need to repeat the dose, but then all is better. :)"
