Cayenne Pepper Cures

Updated: 07/01/2009

Cayenne Pepper is an herb made from the dried pods of chili peppers. Besides being a very popular spice in cooking, cayenne has also been used medicinally for thousands of years. High in Vitamins A, C, B complex, calcium and potassium, cayenne is a wonderful healing aid for the digestive system since it acts as a catalyst and increases the effectiveness of other foods and herbs when used with them. It is also very healing for the heart and circulatory system. Studies have shown that Cayenne can rebuild the tissue in the stomach and the peristaltic action in the intestines.

Cayenne is traditionally used by herbalists to cure stomach aches, cramping, gas, varicose veins, allergies, and constipation. One of the most amazing healing properties of cayenne is that it has been used successfully time and time again to relieve heart attacks:

From the healing text of Dr. Christopher:
"In 35 years of practice, and working with the people and teaching, I have never on house calls lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in--if they are still breathing--I pour down them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water, and within minutes they are up and around). This is one of the fastest acting aids we could ever give for the heart, because it feeds that heart immediately. Most hearts are suffering from malnutrition because of processed food we are eating, but here it gets a good powerful dose of real food and it's something that has brought people in time after time. This is something that everyone should know how great it is, because a heart attack can come to your friends or loved ones any time. And even yourself. The warm tea is faster working than tablets, capsules, cold tea, because the warm tea opens up the cell structure--makes it expand and accept the cayenne that much faster, and it goes directly to the heart, through the artery system, and feeds it in powerful food."

ARRHYTHMIA, RACING HEART

[YEA]  06/21/2009: Geri from Dothan, Alabama writes: "Cayenne pepper effects on heart racing and arrythmia...

I have been using cayenne pepper for several months for racing heart and arrythmia. Within less than a minute my heart is back to normal!! I use 1/2 teaspoon in warm water, less than a cup, one teaspoon in 8oz is recommended, but I get the results from 1/2 tsp., also I use cayenne pepper liberally on most of my food, like salads, baked potato, omlets, etc.. I have tried MANY natural cures, but never had one work so fast. The Phamaceutical companies will probably try to get this miracle cure declared illegal! If people could try it, doctors and drugs would lose billions! I don't mind the heat at all for the results I get. It IS a good idea to have some food in your stomach, though. Wonderful site, Earth Clinic!!"

[YEA]  08/07/2008: Trina (ilovebugs69@yahoo.com) from St.Helens, Oregon writes: "Rheumatoid/Osteo Arthritis: So update, I have done oil pulling and still have twice everyday. My Arthritis is not completely gone. I think it's because i aint using the right oil. But i still sleep well and no more chocolate addiction. And branded scar is completly GONE Due to the Organic Sufflower oil that i pulled with. Anyways i wanna loose weight to help my arthritis because my doctor says i have both.((RA/OA)) So i try the recommended Master Cleanse Diet (from this site by a person). After day one i felt really Pain free. in that diet all you drink is Cayenne pepper in filtered water with Grade A/B Organic Maple syrup and organic lemon. Oh and diet tea and salt laxitive. I did that diet for 2 and half days without eating.

Anyways it was the cayenne pepper that made me pain free. I researched cayenne pepper online and bought the pills. It works great. I take more then it says too. it takes about 6 Cayenne fruit pills. it cost less the 3 dollars at Wal-mart. And Well worth it!! - u know that diet i was supposed to have min. Look up Cayenne pepper it does much more then just for pain oh and weight loss. 3 thumbs way up."

ATHLETE'S FOOT

09/21/2006: Vince from Philadelphia, PA writes: "I had Athletes' Foot between 2 toes that sit against each other. I had it off and on for years. It was hard to dry them after a shower, and when in a rush, I don't think I did it that well, and then sitting against each other, I would probably really have to, and sweating probably cause it also. I only applied cayenne in salt water one time, and it has been gone for years. Usually it has to stay in place for a while on skin surfaces, so I soak the gauze on a bandaid, but since my toes touch, I didn't have to."

BLEEDING

[YEA]  10/06/2008: Rocky from Hayden Lake, Idaho writes: "A horse pushed me against my horse trailer a few years back & the aluminium sticking out cut me to the bone over the eye. I put cayenne in the wound & wraped a battle dressing around my head to keep it from dripping into my eye. From that moment there was no pain nor was there pain again through the healing...6 to 10 days.

As a point, a friend came to me with a cut deep into her knuckle. I have her cayenne & told her to change it every 3 days. Her pain went away during the healing (6 to 10 days) also there is no scar. The 1st year when her hand got cold you could see a blue mark. Now nothing. Rocky"

My friend purchased some 90,000hu cayenne pepper. I started taking it also for health benefits and will be ordering my own supply soon. However I have a question. Why does everyone say put in in "warm" water before drinking? I think I'd prefer cold water, but please explain.
Thanks,
Doug"

[YEA]  04/16/2009: Dan Rodriguez from Clarksville, TN writes: "Cayenne Pepper is the man!!!!!!!!! I love it. I drink it as a tea on a daily basis. When I have sore throat, I mixed it with H2O2 and salt and gargle with it. It kills anything that is not supposed to be there. I've got so used to it that I can actually placed it on my tongue and swallow it like candy powder. ( Don't try this with large amounts at first, you'll get a good burn) It is awesome."

04/30/2009: Eric from Boston, MASS replies: "how do you guys drink it its hot as hell i couldnt drink a glass of it some stuff added helped initially but the heat was still there any suggestions would be great hot hot hot i used 1 tsp in 10 oz of water"

06/09/2009: The Hawk from DeKalb, Il. replies: "I actually take 1/8th teaspoon of 250,000 heat units with my breakfast almost every morning. What I do is take a small glass and just fill the bottom with white grape juice then put the pepper in. I have cheerios every morning and love thick cream, so I use that instead of milk. Here's what I do. I take a couple of spoonfuls making sure I have more cream than cereal then I tip the glass up and drink the pepper and white grape juice and immediately take another spoonful of cream and cereal. Milk products tame the heat from the pepper. What you have to watch for is that you don't have so much liquid that you choke and it goes up your nose. OUCH!!!!"

[YEA]  02/15/2009: Chris (crisbynt@gmail.com) from Kodiak, Alaska, USA writes: "I bought Cayenne Pepper because I read in a health magizene that peppers when heating up the body, will help the body to burn fat. So I thought i'd try it. I took 3 capsules of it. Now, I was tired because I didn't get any sleep that day, but after the pepper started to digest, I noticed my engery levels went up. I felt clean inside, like I washed myself out with a hose. On the drive to work tonight, I noticed my night vision was clearer, my brain was more alert, though I was tired and my sight, to brain, to react responces were more alert and quick I actually suprised myself. I can only contribute this to the pepper as it never happened before, and the day I take the pepper, BAM! I feel clean, full of engery, life, I feel good, my mental mood is good, as if the pepper blocks bad emotions. When flossing my teeth, I noticed my body was numb, as if I had taken pain killers. I didn't take any medications, just the pepper, and some zinc. And it felt like I was on some serious asprin or something. I've only been using on it for less then 12 hours now and I can see a serious differance in my body for the better. I can't wait to see what this wonder plant has in store for me."

[YEA]  01/11/2009: Mak from Perth, Australia writes: "Dear All,

Most of us only believe something if it's happened to us or we 'saw' it with our own eyes. Cayenne Pepper helps me with my neutropenia condition (low white cell count) in that, it doesn't raise the count but keeps bacteria away and stops food bacteria from making me sick. I got those empty gel capsules from most health shops and shake a small amount in a dish and then fill about 1/2 the capsule with it and then close capsule and swallow with juice. Always after eating a meal, and it never burns and stops your food bacteria in it's tracks if you have been out for a meal and come home and your tummy is churning and you know whats going to happen!! Take a capsule as above and it won't get to the vomit stage if you take within 1/2 hour of feeling unwell. Only make as you need not storing them. Keep cayenne in it's packet till you need to make up a capsule.(Caps size vary, get small ones).

Also my husband cut himself deep on his hand and was bleeding bad, I said "at last we can see if that cayenne works"!

Wow we covered it and it was all red and like a crust, left it on for about 1/2 hour then cleaned and re-applied then covered with bandaid and within a few weeks he just has a thin line like a faint scratch. I swear by cayenne but even that amazed me, he said it didn't hurt but just felt warm.

Famous saying: Above many graves grow the herbs that could have cured those that lay below them.

How true.
Mak "

[YEA]  11/21/2008: Katherine Lobendahn from Honolulu, HI writes: "Aloha! It doesn't seem to matter what ailment my body is going through (arthritic pain, 'acid reflux,' idegestion, stomach ache, back ache, fatigue, etc.), a shot of Cayenne Pepper in some water never ceases to relieve me of the pain, discomfort, etc. You name it, Cayenne does the work. When I was consistent earlier this year, my blood sugar and blood pressure were normalized. I am now purposed to take my daily dosage of Cayenne tea more consistently now to keep the annoying and hindering sypmtoms of sickness & disease away. It also got rid of psoriasis I had in my scalp and thigh."

[YEA]  10/31/2008: Jessica Collins from Barnegat, NJ, USA writes: "I have had a sore throat every two months for the last year, I have a thyroid condition and am sick all the time. I am getting a sore throat again and decided to try cayenne. It works for a lot of things like constipation and it helps your body get rid of all foreign germs in your body. I believe in earth friendly products to cure your colds.
Antibiotics can help when really needed so don't rule out it fully and do what you thinks is right for you. If colds last more then a week then see your Doc because your body may not be able to fight it off on it's own. Good luck

P.S. You can take a pill form of cayenne pepper so you don't to deal with the burning and bad taste it leaves behind. It still works the same and it's just easier. Good luck"

[YEA]  10/21/2008: Gary from Mobile, AL writes: "I have been using cayenne pepper for years on food since I love spicy foods. Since I have been taking it as a tea my sinus issues have finished! However, I have found one side-effect that may not be a bad thing; at times about 30 minutes after drinking the tea I get a Viagra effect. Must be increased circulation? I am a believer and always take it with me when traveling."

[YEA]  09/11/2008: Alice from New Fairfield, Connecticut writes: "Cayenne pepper really does work for sore throats! I have been using this remedy for quite a few months now and it works everytime. It does require doses throughout the day but stick with it. My suggestion is to put 1/8 teaspoon of it into a shot glass (2tbsp) of water and down the hatch...it is not going to taste great so get it down as quickly as possible and be done with it is my motto. My 8 year old daughter can down it like a pro and after a few times could even gargle a little in the throat. Have a glass of something (gingerale takes the heat right off for us) to chase it with and be amazed. Cayenne is also a miracle for cuts that won't stop bleeding. It had worked several times for us. Just wash the cut out in water and put a thick paste of it over the wound and cover with a bandage. It does not burn the cut!!! In fact the first time I tried it the wound hurt after I washed it off too soon. Back to sore throats...Apple Cider vinegar works also but my daughter can't tolerate that so we stick to this one...I do both for good meaasure."

After noticing a massive amount of blood on the seat of my bike, I discovered a severe laceration on my right elbow. I wrapped it up with handkerchief and the ride was over. Still bleeding, deciding whether to go to the clinic I recalled an Earth Clinic article about cayenne pepper so I poured some on the cut, it pretty much stopped the bleeding. I latter cleaned the cut and put a second application and bandaged it. The next day I was amazed that it was healed."

I cooked some plain white rice, sprinkled a small bit of cayenne pepper on it, and fed it to my 120 pound dog. He normally eats 2 cups of food twice daily. I started with one cup of rice at breakfast and one at supper the first day. Then 2 cups at each meal the second day. [YEA]  06/01/2007: Karenna from SF, CA writes: "Cayenne is NOT unsafe per one of your feedback customers. I recently found your website in some research I am doing on Cayenne and Lymph, but was a little disconcerted to see that you published someone's testimonial warning others not to use cayenne if they do not want their blood thinned.

Cayenne is used in midwifery and in other instances when needed to stop hemorrhaging, and has the ability to correct and balance both ends of many circulation issues. It will assist in dissolving clots as well as stopping bleeding, and it will -- over time -- correct both high and low blood pressure.

I suggest to all readers that when it comes to benefits and contraindications of herbs and medications, that they exhaustive research, or at least more than they think is necessary, to discover what they need to know for their particular situation or those for whom they are caring. [EC: Thanks, Karenna. We appreciate your clarification!]"
