[YEA] 05/11/2009: David from New York, New York writes: "Used a banana peel/acv "one two" combo with duct tape for a wart. Here's the story. I've had a wart on my forehead for maybe a year and a half. In the beginning i just thought it was a pimple i couldn't get rid of. And because it grew so slowly i was adjusting psychologically to its presence and not doing anything, but finally, i'm like, it's huge and ugly, it's on my forehead, it's a WART, and i'm getting rid of it, somehow. Didn't want to spend a lot of money, so went on the net, found you guys. I went with the ripe banana peel inverted, pressed and sealed over the wart with duct type. I'd rub the peel liberally on it first. Did that for a night and a day, not removing the duct tape except once to put in a new peel. Then browsing around on your site, got curious about apple cider vinegar as cure-all ingestant, so went and out got that (along with some OP sesame oil just for giggles). So then, changing the banana dressing, knowing that ACV was the other popular wart cure and that i had some right in front of me, i took a q-tip, dipped it in the ACV, then jammed it at the wart, for a few minutes (By the way, I wasn't positive that the peel had done much by this point but thought not to judge from the short amount of time). Felt a nice burn, which i enjoyed. If there's pain, there's death. Cause the thing's gotta die, right? But anyway... Then i rubbed a new banana peel on it, and put the duct tape on, and went to bed. Next morning, i noticed the thing was irritated, red and uglier than usual. I put another banana peel with duct tape on. In the afternoon, i'm like, "you know... i liked that BURN from the ACV. Let's do that now." So i repeated my q-tip ACV application for a few minutes. Then i dipped another q-tip in the ACV, this time cut the end of it with scissors, cut it small enough for it to just cover the wart area, placed it on the wart and duct taped it over. Going to bed, vigorously rubbed banana peel on wart, then duct taped wart over ACV'd q-tip (no peel). Waking up, I did banana peel. [SORRY THIS IS BORING BUT IT'S ALMOST OVER]. Evening, I looked at thing, it had shrunk, was red and black. Decided to hit it with ACV. Tested it with my fingernail to see if there was any dead stuff to slough off, and then the thing started bleeding, slowly but non-stop. So for like a half-hour, i q-tipped it with ACV until it stopped bleeding, then duct taped it over another ACV'd cut q-tip for the night. I'd planned to see some friends, but not happening! Next morning (yesterday, actually), I looked at it, knew I'd won. It was black and laying flat just below surface skin level, like a mesa, unlike the protrusive mass it was before. Pressing on it, I felt a soreness, but in the healthy normal skin encasing it, not the wart itself. It was dead. I decided to just slap some duct tape on it without anything for the rest of the day and night. Now it's today, the next day, and I've removed the duct tape, so the area will dry out and hopefully the wart will fall out, no reason why it shouldn't, it's not living after all! heheh :)
Some thoughts: Obviously, i just followed my whims with this treatment, using what i read here as a guide. The banana peel definitely had a less aggressive feel. Don't know if it would have worked on its own. One thing I notice is that the immediately surrounding skin looks great. Really pink, plump and healthy. Maybe there's a facial in it for the girls out there (and boys ;p)
Finally: The site is very cool. Thanks a lot to you people for making it happen. One problem or question: People here really seem to be into "oil-pulling". I'm now in the process of trying it from having visited here. Thing is, i've looked all over the web including on this site to find any rational explanation of how it works, and have just drawn blanks from my perspective. How does it detoxify? HOW? All you see written is that it "pulls" toxins out. Okay, how does "that" work? Or that a doctor from India told some Ukrainian doctors that it works and if they don't believe him, try it for themselves. I understand fasting for detox. Makes perfect sense: Body gets overloaded with toxins, can't process them out of the system, meaning they stay in. Stop food intake, body gets a break to process out the toxins. But "oil-pulling"? Well, i'm trying it, but without a better explanation i'm skeptical it's not just placebo. Would be interested in anyone's thoughts on the subject."
07/23/2009: Kathy from Reading, Berkshire, UK replies: "I have read the remedy for banana peel with interest, my 10 year old daughter had one recently removed from her thumb using Bazooka, but two have now appeared on her face, one on her lower lip a nasty tiny cauliflower devil about the size of a pea, and the other just below her eye. At first we thought it was a calcium spot but it has grown slightly and the GP confirmed they were different types of wart. She bravely agreed to have them frozen, but when the time came, she just couldn't bring herself to keep still and we agreed it would be too dangerous to continue. Does anyone have any advice on how to apply the banana peel to these facial warts? I suppose I could duct tape them on at night, but any other suggestions would be most helpful. Many thanks"
07/23/2009: Alex from Boston, MA replies: "I am replying to Kathy from Reading, Berkshire's posting. For wart problems, consider trying Manuka honey, Manuka oil or a mixture of Manuka honey and turmeric. Just put it over the wart and cover it with a bandage. I have personally had great results using Manuka honey and recommend it to anyone. I had warts on my hands for which I used a number of different remedies in addition to freezing and other over the counter medications, I used vinegar, copper pennies soaked in vinegar, banana peel, a variety of oils (clove, tea tree, etc) vitamin E, etc. Nothing really worked until I tried Manuka. I believe that these microorganisms that cause warts and other skin conditions adapt/mutate, and that is why many remedies work well for some and not at all for others, the little creature become somewhat unique to that person's body. While I am not sure if this will work for everyone, I really think that it is worth a try. The treatment is painless and you can find Manuka at most grocery stores."
07/24/2009: Tricia from Ireland replies: "many years ago while studiying reflexology I managed to contract a wart on the bag area under my eye. At tht time the only over the counter remedies were based on salicylic acds which seemed to strong for such a delicate area. The course tutor told me to use clear nail polish on it to stop it from getting contact with oxygen. Well it worked. I put it on morning and evening and the wart completely dissappeared in about 3 days. He explained that all warts need oxygen to survive and if they are deprived they will die off. The sooner it is treated the less time needed on the remedy. BTW this won't work on verrucae cos they get their oxygen fron a blood vessel in the skin hence the red dot in the middle of them."

I found information on the internet about using iodine on warts. since I take lugols solution(iodine/iodide) I started applying the lugols to the wart. within a week a large portion of the wart fell off. It took about 4 weeks for the whole thing to dissappear, but the iodine worked. From everything I have read and from my alternative doc, warts on the face should not be frozen."

It really is that easy, just get mediplast and tape, you don't even need to use nearly as much tape as in that picture or really even use a pumice stone, scissors will work."

You don't have to use oil specifically - any fat will do like full fat milk (but that leaves a gross taste in my mouth). [YEA] 04/01/2010: Megan from Long Beach, Ca writes: "I used Apple Cider Vinegar and banana peels to get rid of what seemed to be small flat warts on my face. They were small, round, slightly raised, and skin colored and appeared around my mouth, eyebrows, eyes, and neckline. The skin would get slightly thick and would slough off with a facial scrub, but would just grow back. Well, I looked for a treatment and found this site and decided to combine them. I first started taping small pieces of well-ripened banana peel (not too brown though) to those areas for about a week without any real progress. While keeping up with this routine I learned about ACV and tea tree oil. So, I combined about 2 cups of purified water with 1/4 or so of ACV and about 8 drops of tea tree oil. Shake very well to combine all ingredients and use as a toner after washing your face. I used the toner and then kept using the banana peels on my face over night (but did NOT use duck tape because it caused some warts on my neckline to spread adn turn light brown!) They cleared up in about 3 weeks. Just be careful - tea tree oil is potent. I wouldn't put it directly on my face. Diluting it, as in the toner above, if you are going to use it at all, especially on your face, is highly recommended."

A small piece of a leaf cut off the plant will be enough to last for several days if you keep it in the refrigerator.
This worked for my daughter. Out of 20 of our doctors patients, this worked for 19. He had a patient with planters warts that kept returning after being removed. The patients grandmother had the remedy!"

[YEA] 07/17/2008: Erin from Cconcord, NC writes: "Just wanted to let you know that I have tried everything to get rid of a painful plantars wart that was on the bottom of my foot. I tried duct tape, ate tons of bananas, tried every OTC thing possible, even Tagament. I could hardly walk because the foot would hurt so bad. It would be red and painful by the end of the day. Finally tried aloe vera gel. I put it on one night and within two days, I noticed it did not hurt as bad. About a week later, I noticed I could walk without any pain and the wart had turned black. Almost two weeks later, the wart had dried up and I was able to take a pair of tweezers and pull it completely out. The wart is gone and my foot feels and looks normal except a little dry rough spot where the wart was, a small crater like hole where the wart was that is closing in. I am so happy and relieved as I had the wart for about four months."

[YEA] 05/08/2011: J Girl from Tampa, Fl replies: "My son had at least 6 planters warts on his one foot which were painful and seemed to be multiplying in spite of all our efforts. Got some pure aloe vera gel (the whole plant not simply the inner milk/juice) at the health food store for about $12 for a small bottle and started putting that on his foot at night while he slept (no covering, just open to the air). Within 6 days they started to turn black as I read. After about 2 1/2 weeks they are all gone. Looks like a brand new foot. No pain involved in the whole process."

[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 12/12/2011: Jennifer from Hickory Hills, Illinois, United States writes: "Hi, I recently used ACV for a wart (about pea sized) the heel of my palm. I soaked the tip of a cotton swab, put it on the wart and covered it with tape. To keep it secured I had to pretty much tape my whole hand. On the second day (today) I just had paper tape on over the wart (no acv) and when I took the tape off, I noticed the wart and the surrounding area (nickel size) was "loose" and the good skin and the wart just peeled off. There does feel like there's still wart there, but the surrounding skin looks as if I was burned. So I guess I'm wondering if this is normal and continue treatment or should I discontinue and try something else? Thanks so much for this site and everyones input!"

Is it supposed to be like this in some cases? The thing is I am affraid that they will just keep growing and they will not go away :(. Please somebody answer. Thank you!"

After having a plantar wart on my foot for several years it began to spread. I tried everything under the sun from Dr's visits to banana peels & duct tape but NOTHING worked. That was until I began treating the infected area with ACV. The entire process took approximately 2 weeks & was beyond simple! Every night I would take a cotton ball soaked in ACV & tape it down across the warts surface-keeping it covered only when I slept. In the AM I would thoroughly wash my feet & make sure they were 100% dry before putting on my socks & shoes. Every couple of days I would file down the wart with an emery board & cut away the "dead" skin with a razor blade. I repeated this process for two weeks & to my surprise the nasty little buggers disappeared before my eyes. Since my treatment I have been plantar wart free with no signs of any new ones on the horizon!!!"

[YEA] 11/15/2011: Annon from Texas, Houston writes: "WOW.. I have had a verruca on my big toe for about 7 years.. It then grew into 20 all round my foot!!! I managed to get rid of all the small ones with duct tape but 2 remained! :( I have been applying ACV on my massive one for about a month now and I can say its almost gone!! The only downside is that its painful and I couldnt sleep because of it!
My advice is be patient because my one on my big toe is very deep but the vinegar seems to be taking all the roots to the surface, I would highly recomend ACV to everyone!
And by the way I know how embarassing these verrucas are! I use to cry almost every day and my poor mum felt helpless, plus I could never wear high heels with bare feet because I was scared they would spread! My doctor said " its only a verruca for god sake " I honestly just about punched him in the face!!!! if only he knew how much it brings down my confidence :( :(

Doctors tried everything to get rid of it short of cutting my hand because it's on my right hand and I was afraid of needing to much help. It's smack dead in the center of my palm. Since the thing never went away I just learned to live with it as a child totally ignoring & telling other kids it was a weird Birthmark. Well I want you to know that I started using ACV on Wednesday and it has opened up and I see the yukky inside of it. Which is something it has never done before with any other treatment. So I pray this is the miracle I have been looking for concerning my hand. I will keep you posted... BTW this thing burns and stings like a Bon of a sitch (dyslexic cursing) lol! Unfortunately I grew one on my middle finger of my right hand my freshman year of college. I tried EVERYTHING, at home freezing, Dr. Freezing, wart creams, duct tape... Yeah, everything. Sometimes it would look like it would shrink a little just to come back bigger the next week. Then I read about ACV for warts. Let me tell you when nothing else works this stuff does! Just dampen a piece of a cotton ball with the ACV and put a bandage on to keep it there and continue as usual.
The downsides, it hurts like the dickens! Not at first or always, but it started to burn. After a few days my wart started to peel a little and shed a "layer". When I reapplied the ACV to the wart after taking the layer off, it burned a little all night. Then the next layer of the wart would get tough and it wouldn't hurt so bad. This happened repeatedly. Each time another layer would come off the ACV burned even more. I consider myself to be decent with pain, but there were nights I absolutely could not get to sleep because it burned so bad. It really felt like I was holding my finger up to a lighter.
Now, almost as soon as I took the ACV off at night, the pain eased - so if it becomes there's quick relief. Eventually I had a little crater in my finger where the wart had been. I probably kept the ACV up longer than I needed (about 2 weeks for the darn thing), but with all I had tried I was scared to stop.
But that was it, it was gone and it's been 5 years now."

[NAY] 09/17/2011: Mandy from Houston, Texas writes: "I have a nasty wart on the end of my ring finger, right on the tip and a little under the nail. Well, I cut the nail back as short as possible and have been soaking it in ACV for the past 2 days and then I have been using a piece of cotton ball absorbed in ACV, covering it with bandaids and leaving it overnight. Well this evening I decided to go ahead and do this earlier and leave it on a while longer.. The pain was horrible!! Throbbing pain.. and made even my pinky hurt, just pain coming hard and barely letting up.. Finally, right now I couldn't take it anymore (had it with ACV and bandaids for 6 hours) and went in the bathroom to take off the bandaids...
What a mess I have :( it hurts so BAD.. And well the wart is blackish brown and a tint of yellow and the skin hurts so bad around it.. I dont know if I can continue.. But, I don't know at this point what else to do. I have already had the wart burned twice and it is going nowhere.. So I think for the night I will leave it alone.. It hurts too much and feels raw.. And looks so deformed, the skin and the wart is so big, bigger than it was.. Goodness, I wanted this to work. I would love feedback from anyone.. I am thinking, should I try the banana peel?.. maybe it would be less painful? Thank you."
Replies09/17/2011: Oscar from Syracuse, New York, Usa replies: "Dear Mandy, There is BHT [ butylated hydroxytoluene ]. From what I have come across on the web it seems to work well for some people for warts of different types. Most of these reports disuss BHT as a treatment for genital warts. I don`t know if it will help you or not but it is worth a try. Though most people have no problem taking the 350mg capsules BHT is most often sold in some do have problems including dizzyness and hives. I suggest doing a simple sensitivity test by opening up a capsule and empty the contents onto a small plate. Then licking your finger and daubing it onto the crystals and licking the crystals off your finger and waiting a few hours to see if you have any negative response.There has been a lot of research that shows an average lifespan increase for mice dosed with BHT over thier entire lifetimes of as much as 45%. My point being that BHT in theraputic dosages has been proven to be benificial and seems to work well for some people with warts. You can do your own research about this by doing a web search using: BHT and warts. BHT is very inexpensive also. It costs between 10 and 15 dollars for 100 capsules. I hope this works for you if you decide to give it a try....Oscar"

So I plan on NOT dipping it anymore in ACV but, doing the bandaid with cotton ball. I think it is going to work. I do see a difference. I have sensitive skin and I think the dipping into the ACV was a little too extreme for me. I will update in a week. I love this site. I can spend TOO much time here reading! For 2 and a half years I tried all the over the counter remedies out there. I even took her to the doctor and had him "freeze" it. Nothing worked. All that happened was that the skin around the wart got raw and sore. I eventually stumbled across this remedy on the internet. I soaked a small piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar and put it on top of her wart covering the whole thing with a bandaid every night for just over a month. The wart turned black and eventually peeled off revealing beautiful clear pink skin underneath. This definitely works!"

She has a huge wart on the thumb of her right hand just to the side of the finger nail. Another on the outside knuckle of her left thumb and yet another on the inside of her left thumb. Last week I tried the Apple Cider Vinegar. I had to stop treatment after three days on her left thumb because the vinegar is eating her flesh, but it has developed a black scab that has yet to fall off.
The huge one has turned black and I see a seperation line forming at the base of the wart. The vinegar is also starting to eat the flesh of this thumb, so I wrap the non affected area with cotton and a band aid, then apply the ACV soaked cotton ball and more band aids. She reported no pain last night. I am anxious to see this thing disappear! "

I looked up home remedies and tried ducktape first, with no luck after about 2 weeks I wanted to kick it up with the APC. It worked great the first week, I noticed the wart became flat and was looking great. Then it all went down hill, I have a pretty big pain tolerance so at first the trobbing/beginning pain was ok but by the end of the second week this was too much. It was killing the wart but with such pain walking on that foot became impossible, then putting on a shoe was too painful. I cant even manage my sandles right now, let alone a pair of socks. I was wearing the APC soaked in a cotton swab 24hrs/day. Took it down to only at night but it was still compleatly awful, the blanket was too much weight on my foot. It's been just over 3 weeks with APC and today I'm stopping compleatly. Im going on vacation in a week and would really like to be able to wear shoes and perhaps if I'm lucky WALK!
So yes, acp works but its PAINFUL. I imagine it would have worked a lot better if my wart wasn't so deep. A new wart that's still pretty small would have probibly given up by now, but if you have a deep one that wants to hold on with all its got this may not be whats right for you. All I can say is, OUCH!"

08/17/2011: Annette from Bryan, Ohio writes: "I have seen 2 doctors about a painful small bump under the skin of my foot heel. It does seem to have a pinpoint center, but is flush with the skin. One Dr said it was a plugged sweat gland, and clipped skin away and prescribed cream. The other doctor (podiatrist)said it was a wart. He used a scapel on it too and put acid on it. One day later after seeing the podiatrist, there is no change. I would like to try the apple cider vinegar on it but it does not stick up above the surface. It is painful and I have to use pads around the bump so as to not put pressure on it.

I have read over and over again on this site how it worked for them. Absorb cotton ball in ACV and apply to the wart, then tape it on the wart. Try to use tape. I believe it will work! I am working on killing a wart at this time that is on my finger tip and it is shrinking, and has turned black. I hope you try this! Good luck to you!!"

I went to the dermatologist and she applied liquid nitrogen on two or three separate occasions and it did not work. I read about applying ACV to the wart and this is what I did: I took the cotton end of a Q-tip swab and soaked it in ACV that I purchased at Target for less than $1. With the ACV soaked cotton pressed to the wart, I secured it with a band aid. I did this for about a week, applying a fresh piece morning then again at night. Eventually I just kept the wart covered with the ACV/band aid overnight.After about two weeks later I noticed the wart turning dark and eventually it dried. I was able to remove what was left of the wart with cuticle nippers. The skin where the wart once was is perfectly smooth and the wart has not grown back. I swear by this remedy and will now use organic ACV (Bragg's) for solar keratosis that I have on my back and chest. My dermatologist prescribed imiquimod but the lesions look worse now than before. After the course of treatment I will try the ACV if the imiquimod does not work. I will keep everyone posted!"

So I waited for an hour or two then I put a little pad on him then sealed it with duck tape. Waited for 12 to 24 hours but the longer I waited the better they went away but the more the skin was getting scabbed but I am worryed about my son he is four and I would like to see him not grow up with them it would hurt me more then the dumest thing I could ever do and now he went from having 12 to 8 really small ones also I was reading just some of your stuff and think you are comming up with something it is there but now I will take a bit every week to see what it could do"

It was looking good so I decided to do it one last time during the night to be sure the wart was gone. My leg got very sore and it hurt a lot. When it healed I had a big brown mark, many times bigger than the wart so I really regretted it but now, almost a year later the mark is a lot lighter and actualy doesn't bother me anymore. It is near my ankle so no one is going to look down there and I think that it will still get lighter. As yours is white I really don't know. I have a lot of white spots all over my body and I have never found anything to give them some color."

Found this site, did ACV on it for about 3 weeks, on a cotton ball taped to my foot every night. It got swollen, turned white, hurt sometimes. Then about 2 weeks in I noticed it was turning black. A week more and it practically fell out. I still had some black dots, but there was a small crater where the wart used to be. To make sure it was gone I used a salycilic acid liquid on it for about 4 days. Today I scrubbed the acid off and everyhting is completely gone. Just some dead skin and a hole where the bugger used to be! No dots, nuthin! I am very happy! After all this all it took was a 2 dollar bottle of ACV, some bandages and tape and a wee bit of patience. Saved me another 150 bucks and my knees from hurting because I was walking funny! ACV is now a part of my daily life!"

It took two months because I took my time, allowing healing time and stopping treatment while on my periods. Also, because I had more than a few warts the ACV hurt after a while, and some days I chose not to deal with the darn things. But today I have no warts and it feels good to be freed from them. It has been over two months without them."
