09/05/2010: Linda from Palm Springs, Ca writes: "Hi and Thank you for having this posting. I recently had my plugged ears cleaned. Have had some adrenal issues and am taking naturopathic minerals for this condition. I also have experienced "inner ear ringing", or tinnitus, if you so choose. I try not to label ailments. Do you know if ACV is helpful for this condition? Ringing is usually at night. Should I take it right before bed time? How many times per day can I do so? Thank you,
Linda"
09/05/2010: Lisa from Lafayette, La replies: "Linda, are you of the premenopausal or perimenopausal age group? I am reading an awesome book on women in this age range and tinnitus is often caused by hormone fluctuations associated with such. Try over the counter progesterone cream, USP bioidentical, NOT yam extract. Research a little on it. It makes a lot of things right again with women around general age of 30 and beyond."
01/22/2011: Kristy from Sugar Land, Tx replies: "Have you tried taking the faucet test?
The faucet test involves the following. You stand near the sink and turn the water faucet on fully. Many people with tinnitus are unable to hear tinnitus sounds while standing near or close to running or falling water. One other way is to perform this test while in the shower. If either of these provide some relief then you would likely benefit from technique known as masking.
Many trust a technique known as masking that uses white noise to silence or make the ringing less noticeable or transparent.
This is treatment option is commonly used while undergoing other treatment options."

[YEA] 11/01/2009: Betty from Scottsdale, Arizona, Usa writes: "I was going to visit my doctor about tinnitis..a whorling sound in my right ear that didn't go away in over a week. I tried 1 tbl spoon of apple cider vinegar mixed half with water and viola! I awoke this morning normal again. No more phantom sounds in my ear. AMAZING!"

I put 2 tbl of acv in 8oz of water and 1tbls of honey...I'm not noticing any progress at all. So want to know if I'm doing anything wrong or should I try it differently. Please help! I'm frustrated with my ear!"

04/14/2010: Heather from Ortonville, Michigan, Usa replies: "I have been a Tinitis sufferer for a few years now and only realized that is what I had after researching here. I had only heard of the ringing symptom and the loud noise cause. I have a a very unnerving vibration that feels like it is going through the base of my skull and I am pretty sure mine is caused from combination of too many prescription drugs. I was prescribed Topomax, Soma, and Klonopin at the same time. My left ear is already compromised from a lifetime of chronic ear infections and have had the ear drum blow out at least three times, so lots of damage and scar tissue. I do not believe there is a cure for it, however I have found you can relieve it temporarily with some of the "cures" on this site and I am here today to tell you one of my own I have stumbled upon. If you suffer from this you know how desperate one becomes. Simply sticking your finger in your ear helps and stuffing it with cotton can help to sleep, or laying on the side that is the worst if you have it in one ear like me. The biggest relief for me though that surprised me is tucking your head in towards your chest. Makes sense if you think of basic anatomy and where your eustacian tube is etc that this helps. Keep your back kind of straight as possible and tuck your chin in toward your chest and see what happens. I hope it gives some relief to someone else if only for a short time, and for some rest! Blessings to you all!"
05/25/2010: Squiqwe from Cortland, Oh replies: "have you tried zinc? It has cut down my ringing 80%."
[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 08/22/2010: Cat from Austin, Tx replies: "Hi Heather: I tried the head to the chest method and it brought the loud tinitis ringing I woke up with went down to a very low buzz. THANKS! I have come to the conclusion that tinitis is a direct result of what we put into our mouths that we are allergic to. Yesterday afternoon I had sour cream and eggs, two things I am allergic to. Before bed, my ears began ringing. I woke up to a loud, persistent ring and a swollen neck with lots of mucus. I immediately did your head to chest solution and ringing eased CONSIDERABLY. Took two straight TBLsp of ACV and wiped my neck with ACV and my swollen neck is going down. Later today I will take a tsp of VCO & 1/4 tsp cayenne for further aid."
08/26/2010: Cb from Crescent City, Ca replies: "I just wanted to say that the ear ringing must not all be from the same cause. My husband and I were both in the same room together both on our computers when BAM both of us said wow my ears are ringing, that was like 6 months ago and the combination of weird ringing hissing and swooshing has gotten louder and louder! What ever caused this hit both at the same time! BTW apple cider vinegar totally cured my acid reflux I had for years! I took it in water after every meal and at night now I don't need it took about 6 weeks been cured for a year!"
[YEA] 07/10/2011: Priya from Oroville, Wa replies: "I came to this site just last night. I have been experiencing ringing in my ear for 2 days. Started with a sore throat then went to my right ear. Prior to this I was having a low in and out humming happening for months. Went to get my hearing checked and all was good. I'm 58 and in good health I keep active. Last night I took my first dose of ACV in water 2 Tblsp with 8 oz of water, Organic Braggs brand. It help some the noise isn't as loud. I took my second dose this morning and going for my 3rd. I also did a ear coning to help pull the ear wax out. I did this this morning. It's easy with help and feels fine. My right ear had 2X's as much wax in as my left. Hears to hearing better, even if I still am a bit off centered. I'll continue to do this along with taking Tumeric with black pepper it helps to assimulate the tumeric. I didn't measure the tumeric I put some in water and on my food last night. I'll let you know the results thanks for having this site."

[YEA] 03/17/2009: J Pan from Langhorne, PA/ USA writes: "Apple Vinegar Cider
Directions: 8 oz apple vinegar cider , microwave 1 min, mix honey, drink all.
Did it for 3 nights, ringing greatly reduced, nearly gone (keeping fingers crossed). Love this site, love the people, more people should post feedback after using it because for me it was a life saver.
Hope I never have to drink this stuff again tho, it almost made me vomit. But would go through the experience 1 million times to be done with the buzzing."
03/22/2009: MARGIE from WIGAN, ENGLAND replies: "COULD SOMEONE TELL ME THE MEASUREMENTS FOR THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR RECIPE FOR TINNITUS. CONFUSED ABOUT WHETHER ITS 8OZ OF WATER OR 80Z OF ACV. THANKS"
EC: You are right! No, 8 OZ of apple cider vinegar would be crazy. Typically one would take either 2 teaspoons or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water...
04/29/2009: J Pan from Langhorne, PA replies: "Oh, I used 8 oz of straight apple vinegar cider. I didn't dilute with any water. As I said, tasted awful, but I was desperate."
05/13/2009: Just Toni from Tempe, AZ replies: "J Pan, could you please say how long you had the ringing in your ears before trying this recipe? Days, months, or years? Did you have a recent exposure to a load noise, concert or guns? Or a cold, some kind of flu? Your further input could be helpful to many suffering souls. By the way is it still almost gone?"
08/14/2009: J. Madrigal from Edinburg, Tx replies: "What are the exact measurements for the acv remedy? Is it 8 oz. of apple cider vinegar or 8 oz. of water and 2 tbsps of acv plus the honey? Please respond. Please tell me that this actually works for the tinnitus, I'm really desperate."
09/22/2009: Trinity from Spokane, Wa replies: "Ok, so Im now as we speak trying the apple cidar vinegar for this ringing in my ears. Ringing started last night, usually goes away, but has not this time. i am also trying garlic willow oil in my ear, (only left ear) i have heard the ringing can be caused by bacteria or virus, or biotics being unbalanced after taking antibiotics. I will keep posted on if any of these worked for me. And yes, the 8oz of acv, is by far the most uncomfortable, and unpleasant taste ever!!!!!! the burn, and taste could make you pass out, but if it works, itll be worth it."
[NAY] 09/22/2009: Trinity from Spokane, Wa replies: "UPDATE ON ACV--------NAY. WILL NOT TAKE AGAIN. SPENT THE LAST HOUR NAUSEATED, AND FINALLY SPENT SOME TIME THROWING UP!!! RINGING NOT GONE, NOT EVEN DIMINISHED. IF ANYTHING MORE IRRITATED FROM THE VOMITING!!!WILL KEEP SEARCHING FOR CAUSE AND CURE I GUESS. AM LOOKING INTO CANDIDA CAUSES. ONLY TRY THE ACV IF YOU HAVE A VERY VERY TOUGH STOMACH TOLERANCE... TAKE WITH CAUTION."
09/22/2009: Tricia from Ireland replies: "Trinity - I sincerely hope you are diluting the acv and that it is not neat. If you aren't it won't be the ringing in your ears that will cause you concern."
09/23/2009: Tricia from Ireland replies: "Hi Trinity - my last reply was to your first post. When your throat, stomach and bum (I imagine thats suffering too) has settled and you will need to give it a few days. Try again. This time use only 2 tablespoons of the acv in a full (8oz preferably) glass of water. At the most this should be taken 3 times per day. Vinegar of any kind is exceptionally acidic so you may also need to take some acidophilus to balance your insides again. The more water you drink the faster you will recover from what must have been a pretty horrible couple of hours."

[YEA] 06/25/2007: Dan from New York, New York writes: "I got a really bad cold a few days ago, and I could hardly stand not being able to breathe through my nose. Not only that, but the coughing, especially on the second and third days, was unbelievable. Finally my dad told me that he couldn't listen to my cough any more, but I didn't want to take any drugs/medicine. I found this site on Google and, of course, the first thing I saw was to drink Apple Cider Vinegar. I finally found some in the back of a cabinet and put some in a glass with honey. In less than ten minutes my cough had subsided to barely a tickle every five minutes and my nose cleared up so fast I could actually feel it loosening up. Not only that, but ACV also reduced the weird ringing in my ears and helped my upset stomach. I'm not saying that my cold is completely gone, but I'm easily 99% better than I have been in the last month. ACV is definitely the only thing for any kind of illness."

[YEA] 07/01/2006: Gary from O\'Fallon, MO writes: "I bought some pills that were supposed to increase blood circulation to the inner ear. In the meantime, I started drinking Apple Cider & Honey (which I did years ago) OK. Here's the deal. Still taking the pills. Ringing is back in my ears. BUT, I haven't drank any ACV & Honey for a couple of days. Drank a big glass full this morning & am waiting for that damn noise to go away. Anyone who has never had this can't imagine how irrating it is. A constant squeeling in the ears. Sometimes it changes tones & have had it sound like someone was crushing Acorn Shells. Now U get the idea. I wasn't even aware I fixed it till I noticed "What's Happening" no noise. I have no doubt in my mind this is what made it go away.(ACV) What I do is put a glass of water in the Microwave for 1 minute & then add a teaspoon of honey. WARNING... That combination can take your breath away so go slow with it. After one drinks it for a while, it sort of tastes like a mixed drink. But, as I said"Sip it at first " or a lot of coughing will result. Hope it helps U if U have this problem. GARY. Oh ya, all the Ear Docs say is "That's a tough one to cure" Guess that's why all the Doc's are practicing Medicine. One more.. Thanks for the information on brushing one's teeth as I didn't even think of that."
Replies12/25/2009: Comlexion90309 from Ft. Worth, Texas replies: "Ok, so my son seems to have this sickness. I do believe in Apple Cider Vinegar to death. This was medicine before medicine. Now getting my 20 year old son to believe that we can overcome this illness. Tomorrow 12/25/2009 will be the first day he will try ACV, I will wake up and give him two tablespoons to one teaspoon of honey preferably both the oldest raw acv and honey I can find. I promise to give results on his condition asap. My son is in college and we refuse to give up."
06/15/2010: Lisa from Brandon, Florida, Usa replies: "Be careful of the dose. Taking so much all at once before testing on his body to see his tolerance level could undo all that good work you have done. I start with low dose and lots and lots of water. Sometimes detoxing so fast and hard can be painful especially if not used to it."

B-12
09/15/2011: Connie from Slc, Ut writes: "Hi Remmo ; B12 deficiency is associated with the conditions of , vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Though nerve damage can be permanent, B12 can at least stop some of its progression by helping to produce myelin to recoat the axons. I had mild hearing loss, mild tinnitus, and severe vertigo. They are now gone. My husband has familial hearing loss and moderate tinnitus. He hasn't worsened, but he hasn't noticed improvement yet after 5 mnths. of B12 supplementation. I recommend a trial of methylcobalamin, an active form of B12, between 1000 mcg. - 5000 mcg. daily, available in sublingual lozenges. My husband takes 2500 mcg. daily, and I now take 5000 mcg. daily. With these high dosages, we find that we need extra potassium in our diets, but that side effect is what I would rather tolerate than the vertigo, nerve damage, etc. Some people have also found that supplementation with zinc, CoQ10, and vitamin E have been helpful, along with a reasonable amount of B-complex."

BLACKSTRAP MOLASSES

[YEA] 09/21/2007: Tammy from St. Louis, MO writes: "Hi. I have been diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer (spread to the bones). I have become anemic. Dr. said to take in more iron. I bought blackstrap molasses unsulphured. Took a tablespoon Tuesday evening, a tablespoon Wednesday morning. Noticed Wednesday afternoon I "had energy" & then realized that after a 4 block walk at a fast pace did not leave me winded and fatigue my legs (the Saturday before I became winded and fatigued after only 1 block). Went home from work, took another tablespoon, did heavy gardening until 10:00 that night. Was still feeling energized! Took the same amount of blackstrap Thurday and Friday (today). Here is the amazing part: when I am anemic, I get tinnitus - sound in my ears. It is a pulsating sound like I can hear my blood pulsating through my veins. The more anemic I am, the louder the tinnitus. I've been through this before. Took blood transfusions and the tinnitus went away. My last treatment regimen for the cancer worked (for awhile) and as I got better from the medication, my blood got better, and the tinnitus gradually went away. Now, since taking the blackstrap (starting three days ago), each night I notice the tinnitus is lessened. Last night it was BARELY audible and was not constant. I expect tonight it will not be there at all. (Night time is when I notice it when all is very quiet). I would bet were I to have my blood tested today, my red blood cell and platelet counts would be either normal or just about normal. OK, I am truly amazed. Is it the blackstrap? Ok, next thing to try: hydrogen peroxide. Then apple cider vinegar! God bless you all for sharing!"
Replies10/06/2010: Litsa from Fairbanks, Alaska replies: "I just want you to know for people who suffer for anemia I use chlorophyl-1 tsp full in the morning mixing with water and drink it everyday you will see fast results. I hope this help"

[YEA] 7/26/2007 from Los Angeles writes: "I bought a cell phone recently and adjusted the volume on both the earpiece and phone to high. Within a day I started to get intense ringing in my ears, mostly in my left ear, which is the one I hold the phone up to when I can't find my earpiece. I decided after a few days of the high pitched eeeeeeee that the only thing that was different in my life was the new cell phone. I turned down the volume and the ringing stopped. What a no brainer! Heh heh."

CHELATED MAGNESIUM

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 08/23/2007: Kelly from Charlotte, Nc writes: "I wrote in a few weeks ago about my whirring right ear. I can only lay on one side without hearing it. I think my back or neck may need to be adjusted. This is my 3rd day taking the magnesium and it may be working. I've tried the peroxide and my ear is very tender on the inside. Do you have any other suggestions? I really don't want to go have a doctor dig in it if there's something i can do. I found a link from your site (i think) about chinese herbs for tinnitus and ear problems. do you recommend this? Please let me know asap. Thanks for the site!!"
Replies03/19/2011: Pam from Millstone, Nre Jersey replies: "check to see if you clench your teeth at night. I had the same thing with my left ear. Alot of pressure like an inside earache. The doctor said it could be the jaw bone pushing up on the ear canal. Suggested I go to dentist and get plastic teeth guards to prevent me from clenching and grinding teeth at night. Also wants me to get an MRI. Going to wait and see first and do alot of praying that it goes away first. The doctor put me on steroids for a week for the imflamation, even though anti inflamitory drugs can make it worse, same as alcohol, salt and caffeine. Still have the ringing but noticed the pressure is lightening up. Hopefully the ringing will reduce but for now it's still there- not as bad as 5 days ago when it first started. I am going to try the Apple Cider Vinegar tonight! I feel for everyone here. I know what you're going through! "

[YEA] 05/15/2007: Tom from Melbourne, Australia writes: "I trawled the net in search of a remedy for my sudden onset tinnitus (noise induced trauma). Reading between the lines of some medical sites I noticed that trials were being undertaken to test the efficacy of chelated magnesium and the role of beta and anti histamines to alleviate the symptoms.
Figuring I had nothing to lose, I bought some chelated magnesium and started taking the maximum recommended dose. I also took some Polarimine (old style anti-histamine which can cause drowsiness...)according to the recommended dose. Within 2 days my tinnitus symptoms improved remarkably during quiet periods. It is still loud in areas of high background noise but even that seems to be reducing somewhat. My hearing also seems to be returning to reasonable normalcy after the initial trauma. I hope this anecdote helps others."
Replies06/04/2008: Sen from San Jose, CA replies: "Hi, Tom. Could you kindly let me know if the chelated magnesium worked? I have been having noise induced tinnitus for over 6 years now. Thanks."

CHUG WATER

[YEA] 02/20/2011: Jen from Alexandria, Va writes: "I've had ringing in my ears for about 4 or 5 days. This my first experience with Tinnitus other than hearing feedback from concerts every now and again. I just leaned my head back and drank a 16 ounce bottle of water. I could hear the ringing reduce as I drank. When I finished, the ringing was almost gone.
I discovered this as a fluke by following up on suggestions from other EC posts. One said to put your head on your chest, another said the ringing may come from allergies. My allergic reactions are reduced when I drink water so as I chugged a bottle, the sound faded. I guess leaning your head back works as well as leaning it forward.
Off to drink some ACV as a back-up! Thanks for the great remedies!!! "

COLLOIDAL SILVER

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 11/21/2011: Patti from Toledo, Ohio/usa writes: "I used Similisan Homeopathic drops for ear wax removal in the morning. In the evening, before bed, with a rubber ear syringe, I gently squirted Colloidal silver in one ear, laid on the other side for 5 minutes, then absorbed the colloidal silver with a clean wash cloth as it drained out when I sat up. Then did the same to the other ear. The next morning, I used the same treatment with just the colloidal silver but leaving it in each ear for approximately 30 minutes per ear. This has reduced the loud ringing/tinnitus approximately 90%."

DMSO
05/22/2009: Luis from Cali, Colombia writes: "Tinnitus and DMSO:
DMSO used together with vasoactive drugs was administered by injection, and DMSO in combination with anti-inflamatory preparations was applied externally.
The treatment consisted of one daily intramuscular injection of Ipran (a Chilean drug), a preparation based on DMSO in combination with buphenine and aminoacids. The investigator was in this Chilean study was Dr.Aristides Zuniga. In addition to the injections, the external ear canal of the particular ear hearing the irritating sound was treated with 2 ml. of a medicinal spray containing DMSO and anti-inflammatory drugs described as Plus-Par (a Chilean Drug. The spray applications were made every four days during the entire period of treatment. In nine of the fifteen patients, the subjective discomfort and head noise disappeared completely after one month of treatment. In two others the noise diminished considerably in intensity but did not totally disappear. Four patients retained tinnitus but described it as changed and sporadic, especially when they were exposed to the cold in the morning. Patients who had complained of nausea and positional dizzinesss from the condition before treatment didn't have these sensations after it. They also lost their persistent insomnia, as well as headache, neurotic anguish, and ear pain."

GARLIC

[YEA] 04/08/2008: Molly from Madison, USA writes: "I had severe tinnitus for almost a decade. 24/7, there was a constant high frequency screech in my ears. Initially, I'd thought that I had become sensitive to noise, that I was hearing some type of generator or air conditioner in the far distance.
Anyway, I searched the Net in the 90s for a tinnitus cure, but nothing I tried had any impact.
I did become very interested in herbs, though, and in one book containing a chapter about garlic, the author mentioned that to get rid of an earache, simple get a bottle of cheap garlic oil pearls at the drug store, and at bedtime, pierce one of the pearls with a STERILE pin, and then squeeze the contents in the ear.
Months later, when it felt like I was on the verge of an earache, I decided to see if I could avoid one by using one garlic oil capsule.
The following morning, the longterm severe tinnitus was absent from that ear, and even greatly reduced in the other ear --- which that night I treated with ONE garlic oil pearl.
That was it - severe, persistent, LOUD screeching tinnutus of a decade's length was gone - and it has never once returned ever since.
Also, each morning, I'd notice that the ear treated with the garlic oil had drained out onto the pillow case overnight, and the discharge was totally deep dark black.
Obviously, I'd had an infection in my ears, but there was never any sensation of an earache or physical discomfort typical of an infection, simply the loud high frequency screech."
Replies04/16/2010: Dee from Central Texas, Tx replies: "Perhaps the garlic soaked into the jaw area and killed microbes. Many people have undetected infections in their teeth/jaws. A biologic dentist told me of a patient who was suddenly freed from long term tinnitus as he cleaned out a back molar."
01/05/2011: Elyza from Stevens Point, Wi replies: "Molly, do use the garlic oil every night, now, or just when you feel an ear infection coming on?"
10/01/2011: David T from Greenville, Sc replies: "There are different types of tinnitis and the causation will differ also. The garlic solution worked because that tinnitis problem was probably virally induced and garlic is an anti-viral. But notice the residue came out also. That means a wax buildup is there so anyone with ear problems first make sure the ear canal is cleaned... But main issue of tinnitis for many people could be an infection. Infection could cause tinnitis or equilibrium problems. If one has on-going tinnitis at least try colloidal silver gently shot up both ear with an ear syringe. Again, make sure the canal is clear of wax. The reason some people get water "stuck" in the ear canal is usually because of wax buildup issues."

08/02/2011: Jeannine from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl writes: "Hi, I just read something about someone needing a neck adjustment so I want to warn that is how I got my immediate onset of tinnitus. My husband just found this site for me so I'll try the ACV as well as other things. Acupuncture btw changed the pitch from a horribly high sound to something a little more acceptable. At least I can sleep now :) Stress really affects it but it anyone knows how to rid one's life of that, I'd love to know! ;) When this first happened to me back last October of 2010 and especially by January, I thought I "could not" live with the condition. [BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 05/19/2011: Josh from Philadelphia, Pa writes: "I developed tinnitus suddenly after a 15 minute cell phone call on speakerphone, during which the sound quality was very rattly and metallic, with the high points sounding something like breaking glass. The volume wasn't very loud or next to my ear - it was just a very cacophonous rattly pitch. Right afterwards my ears were ringing and my left ear continued to ring for over a week, at which time I visited an ear doctor who pulled out a large hunk of earwax and the ringing abated while in the office, but soon started up after I left (or maybe the white noise of air conditioning in the office disguised the ringing).
After a week of continuous ringing I theorized that the wild frequencies during the phone call screwed up my ears' micro-hairs, and that perhaps coaxing them back to harmony would take the opposite kind of sound frequency - a single balanced continuous tone (along with self-healing affirmations and a belief that my ear was healing). On youtube I found a 528 hz solfeggio frequency tone (just a single continuous tone) and played it over and over via good Bose headphones. After two days my tinnitus abated considerably. I have to mention at the same time I started listening to the tones, my devout grandmother prayed for my hearing, so whether it was the 528 hz tone, the prayers or some other factor (additional vitamins, garlic oil in the ear a few times, and CoQ10 supplements), I do not know. My ear is still sensitive to high pitched squeaky sounds and I wear an earplug to give my ear a rest, but the ringing is probably only 5-10% of what it was two weeks ago and I can live with it, whereas I could not before. I think the first step is believing you can be cured, rather than listening to doctors who say it cannot be cured. If a cut or broken bone heals, so can your ears."

I've narrowed the cause down to his SCM's, levator scap and I have to assume the scalenes. My question is, has anybody helped their tinnitus (which was due to a physical injury) with massage or some other modality to the neck muscle? I'm using very light pressure and still causing much pain. How long did it take to see results? How often were you getting treated? Was it light or deep pressure? I really would like to help this person. A chiropractor is now involved also so hoping the combo will help. Any advice will be much appreciated!!
Thank you!"

12/07/2009: Just A Guy from Stevens Point, Wi writes: "For years I have had a high ringing going on. Lately I started to listen to it, as the ringing won't stop. The sound I was hearing split into three tones, each higher then the last one. These three tones split into three tones each. Each of these triads forms a triangle of sound. So I now have three triangles of sound created out of nine tones filin my head.
I have a feeling that as I listen to all nine, I just might burst into pure knowledge and finally learn how to heal others with just thoughts alone. I am now questioning doctors because this explanation isn't very rational to them, it would mean we are made out of sound. Yet, there is something to this tone split.
And you guys think you are having issues."

01/04/2009: Thomas Yates from Rhodes, Greece writes: "TINNITUS
THE CURSE OF THE GODS.
First of all I would like to state that I'm not religious so why did I title this 'The curse of the gods'?
The best way to explain is to start at the beginning, I was one of nine children although one of my brothers died at a very early age. I didn't know him as I was born afterwards. I had five brothers and two sisters and my earliest thoughts were making sure I took care of myself, No one else seemed to care. We had a mother that didn't give a damn except that she had a good time so taking care of ourselves while she was out boozing seemed the norm. We never seemed to get on in the early days and fighting with each other was the course of a normal day, Stealing a slice of bread and putting dripping on it then swearing to god it wasn't you who stole it. I learnt very early to finish any food that was given had to be eaten very quickly before my brothers finished theirs and decided they were still hungry and steal mine.
If mother ever came in and caught us being naughty she would demand we line up then she would use the buckle side of a belt on us all. It didn't matter how you protested your innocence or the fact that you were genuinely innocent. I still have scars on my left shin where I had to go the hospital for stitches.
My father or who I thought to be my true father at the time was totally opposite I can never remember him actually raising his hand to any of us. I do remember running home from school and arriving home early, to see mother all flustered on the settee and up popped this guy from the back saying to me that he was my uncle Jim and it was a surprise. I was to tell no one of our little secret. (Later I found out through one of my brothers that Jim was my true father) He could never replace my father who died twenty-eight years ago. I was very sad and distraught and remember the man was too good to go, he worked all his life and fought gallantly in the Second World War. He took early retirement from the mine at the age of sixty-two and never saw sixty-three. Why oh why did he have to go and the witch I knew as mother had the right to live. We have never spoken to each other ever since the funeral and I'm not sure if she's still alive.
My life began when I was nineteen and met my current wife Carole (Caz). We were married in 1975 and had a child named Shawn. Unfortunately he was born with a hole in his heart and died at the tender age of four months we were both totally devastated but luckily she caught on again very early and gave birth to another son called Tommie in 1977.
We both worked hard and after doing without luxuries for a long time we finally saved enough money to buy our council house. We stayed there for three years before we were able to sell it. We had decided a long time ago that we would live abroad and decided on Greece. After asking Tommie at the age of fifteen if he would like to move to Rhodes he jumped at the chance. We are a very close family and Tommie has all his good manners without me having to raise a finger on him. We lived in Rhodes for five years when Tommie suggested we get an Internet bar, our money from the house sale was dwindling quickly and we decided to go for it.
All was going well, money was coming in, instead of out and we started to save again. The weather over here is glorious in the summer without a cloud in the sky for months.
All went well for the next ten years. We had a house designed and built with a big garden for my new grandsons, Sean and Benjamin (Tommie married an Irish girl called Helen)
Then it all started to go wrong I seemed to get tired easily and had heartburn a lot when I ate. I asked my sister to fetch over some Gaviscon from England (There are still a lot of things you can't get over here). I took these on a regular basis for a couple of months and it seemed to ease the pain in my chest until November 2006. I awoke with the same feeling of indigestion so got dressed and went for a long walk. When I got back home I told Caz that I still felt like I wanted a big 'burp'. I jumped up and down and touched my toes a few times and then 'wow' my chest tightened so much. I told Caz I think I'm having a heart attack. She said don't be silly your right arm hurts and no sooner had she said it I got a pain in my hand. (Don't forget I'm not religious so why were the first words out of my mouth, 'Jesus Christ') After running around like a headless chicken thinking I am going to drop dead any moment we went to our local GP. Thankfully it was close by and went straight through his surgery into the doctors office and ignoring his patient he was dealing with went and lay on his bed. He knew immediately what was wrong with me and put a couple of tablets under my tongue. Which after a couple of moments eased the pain, he asked if my son drove when I said yes. He asked Caz to phone him up and to come and take me to the hospital, which of course he did. On our way we were saying I couldn't have had a heart attack or he would have got an ambulance for me. When we arrived at the Hospital (in the town centre about a twenty-minute drive away). I went into the accident and emergency department and within no time at all they had me connected to a E.C.G machine and started to take blood when I had my second heart attack which was much stronger than the first one. They trollied me to the intensive care unit with my son and wife in tow. I was crying and thought they would never see me again when I went inside. After what seemed ages (probably ten minutes) they had got me settled and said they didn't want me to have visitors but because they were so upset they allowed Caz and Tommie to see me for a minute. The relief I had to see them again was short lived when I asked my son to lift the bed higher so I could see them properly. 'Bang'. At this point I would like to say I am no coward to pain. I once had ingrowing toenails that were giving me gyp for several months so I nicked my big toenails on either side with clippers to form a wick. I then gritted my teeth took the pliers and yanked the nail out on both sides but after the bleeding stopped they were cured. I added this for you to understand that third attack was ten times more painful. Everyone was ushered out of the intensive care unit and I was told later that my heart had stopped for seven seconds. I remember asking if I was going to die and the doctor told me that if I hadn't been where I was I would have. Now I know why my local GP told me to take me by car it saved twenty minutes, which would have meant I would not be here typing my experiences down for you to read. I made a mental note to thank my GP for saving my life the next time I saw him.
Lying in my ward recouping from my experience and waiting to go to Athens for an operation. I noticed a little humming noise in my head. It wasn't loud and was easy to ignore it, so I let it go without saying anything to the doctors. After ten days I was flown to Athens for an angiograph which revealed I had a blocked artery and a stent was fitted.
After coming back home just over two years ago I have had no problems with my heart so far. And on the tread mill all seemed fine. Although there is a downside, I have to take medication for the rest of my life. I have never been one for taking pills. I hit fifty years of age in October 2006 and by December 2006 I had recovered from three heart attacks and I felt fine except for the annoying hum had turned into a buzzing noise. Over the months it got louder and louder. I asked my doctor if there were any side effects with the tablets I was taking that could cause a buzzing noise in my head. He replied 'no'. I was dumbstruck because it only started when I came around in the ward and was sure it was a trivial matter of just adjusting the medication. Now I was worried what it could be, I asked my local GP what could be wrong with me. I described it was like standing underneath an electric pylon and the sound it gives out is the sort of frequency as what was in my head. He told me it could be Tinnitus, which I immediately looked up on the Internet. I discovered that it was a problem with the ears that can be caused by a severe trauma. Only my noise was in my head not my ears. The only way I can explain this is if the problem is in both ears then it's like when you put good music and headphones on you hear the music in the middle. Everything I read was very interesting. Buzzzzz. Try and put yourself in My Buzzzzzz place and imagine that there is no Buzzzzzz cure for this Buzzzzz annoying noise. I Buzzzzzz went to Buzzzzz a ear specialist and Buzzzzz had my ears syringed. It did no-Buzzzzz-thing to stop the buzzing sound. Buzzzzzzzz now that you have got irritated of all the Buzzes I have put in these last few lines, imagine. You can put this down and walk away. I unfortunately can't walk away from it. I scale it from a one to a ten. One being very low and ten unbearable. I'm typing at the moment at about a six. It does go as low as a four but very rarely less. When I am tired or fatigued it does go up to an eight or nine. I had it on a ten for about three days on a trot and I went to a neurologist. I broke down and cried for help to get rid of this noise that had by this time got very frustrating. He told me that antidepressants sometimes works in lowering the noise but I had to take them for six months for them to be effective that was three months ago and all the tablets have done for me is to make me feel constantly lethargic and tired. The buzzing has not lowered in the least. They say that suicide is a coward's way out. That can never be so far from the truth. I have two grandsons, a daughter, son and wife I dearly love, but I don't know how long I can live with this constant noise that's starting to send me crazy. 'NO CURE' In this day and age when almost the impossible can be done medical wise and they can't cure a little noise in the ears? I know I'm not the only one out there with this problem but I feel so lonely not being able to explain the frustrating condition to a total stranger that sees you look ok from the outside and doesn't understand the torture I am going through. I don't know how long I can put this act on without screaming aloud to the world STOP this buzzzzzing.
I don't think I have done anything wrong to deserve this torture so you try to put blame on anyone and anything. When it's bad the words that come to mind is 'good God please stop this torment' Just for ten minutes of peace and quiet. It's got so bad it wakes me up from my sleep at night. It can only be a curse of the Gods. If there is anyone out there that can genuinely help me please get in contact through my e-mail. Before I pluck up enough courage to end the Buzzzzzing noise for good. Thanks for reading this. Tom@tommiesbar.com"

I emailed you but got no response, so I don't know if that address link is still active. So I am posting the info that I came across that might benefit you & other Tinnitus sufferers. The bottom line is that Dr. Shemesh studies the "Metabolic Imbalance" in each individual rather than give a "one pill fits all" treatment. It's worth researching his methods for those of us that cannot afford to travel to Israel for a cure. Here are some links to start you on your research path.

Read the letters: http://tinnitus.itgo.com/RayEnnis/ray.htm
More info: http://tinnitus.itgo.com/Mike/mikecohen.htm
I did see some info suggesting that Vitamin B-12 deficiency might be the culprit. So please, do your homework & see your doctor about deficiencies......"Metabolic Imbalance".
I hope this helps."
06/16/2009: Catlin from Austin, TX replies: "Hi Tom - My tinnitus is so linked to what I am taking into my body, it is uncanny. A Neanderthal diet of limited meat, berries, and veggies will make it go completely away. I thank my husband for this because he thoroughly researched ways to help me; even did most of the cooking. I am allergic to EVERYTHING and tinnitus can be a direct result of allergies to food or medication. I stopped taking over-the-counter meds some years ago so I realized my diet was the culprit. I did find relief with a diluted borax (1T) and water (8oz-no lumps) solution sprayed into the ear and drained out. But this is only temporary. A permanent solution was getting rid of the allergies I have always had since I was fed grains, milk, and beans to early on an immature baby gut. The moms of the 50s didn't believe in breastfeeding. Tinnitus, stomach problems, frozen shoulder, teeth problems, and more, all disappeared when I went Neanderthal I initially lost 20 (hubby-30) pounds without even exercising. And my energy is way better. You are not finished here, so don't give up. Your answer is out there. CAT"
06/17/2009: Okay from Miami, Florida replies: "Dear earth clinic, with all due respect please don't publish such long posts where people ramble on. This reminded me of something you would find on curezone and that has to be the most negative energy site ever made. Just a tip as I love this site because it lacks all the complaining gets to the point and discusses CURES and REMEDIES!
thank you"
EC: Thanks for the feedback! These types of posts are few are far between... and most get deleted immediately!
06/17/2009: Gean from Salina, KS replies: "If I had a mysterious illness that was "incurable", I would go on a whole food diet, no refined stuff, pure water between meals, daily exercise, set schedule for meals and sleep, never over-eat, light suppers, fast 1-2 days a week, and MMS (miracle mineral supplement). I don't believe there are many conditions that will not improve with this regiment. It might not completely cure everything, but any improvement is worth the effort, besides the fact that it would improve health in many more ways than eliminate the "buzzing"."
06/08/2010: Marquis from Scottsdale, Az, Usa replies: "I agree about curezone with a bunch of complaining and i feel like on that site that im not getting the help that i am asking even though i find it to be very informative with a lot of forums."
