BORAX, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, NOXZEMA

09/20/2011: Michelle from Las Vegas, Nevada writes: "I want to start by saying I believe I got it from my dog. I have read numerous sites that say you cannot catch it from your pet but I do NOT believe it. My dog started losing its fur, and scratching herself bloody. After two trips to the vet, they said she had allergies. About two weeks after her itching began, so did mine. The vet prescribed various creams, pads, medicines, and special food to help with her "allergies. " As her itching got worse, so did mine so I began using Benedryl spray, cream and many other "itch-relief" medicines... None of which worked for very long. I was awakened every night about 2:00am with INTENSE itching. I was scratching so hard and so much, I was covered with bruises in between all of my bumps. One night I woke up with hives as well. I graduated to tea-tree oil and Noxema rubs, then after finding this site, onto Borax and Hydrogen Peroxide soaks. During this time, my dog was so miserable, she was going crazy with the itching so I took her to the NVASPCA. They diagnosed her with Mange! I went to the Dr. and got a dose of Permethrin Cream.

I did my dose of Perm a few days ago, and am now making a "scrub" on my wash rag with Lavendar soap and 1/4 Borax. Then I rinse off and squirt Hydrogen Peroxide on my wet body and dab dry. I carry Peroxide in a spray bottle and use when necessary. It does burn so I think it is working and I was at a point where burning was better than itching so I keep using it. At night, my hubby rubs me down with Noxzema, from top to bottom, with a deep massage to work it in real good. I feel I am on the road to recovery. I am sleeping through the night, and not itching as much during the day. My bumps are starting to get dry little "heads" on them. I have washed everything... HOT with Borax, and I vacuum the hell out of my carpet. I hope and pray this is it!"

Sixth Step: Set iPod to play Eminem's Recovery album.
Seventh Step: With spray bottle, liberally spray the 50/50 MIXTURE of CHLORINE FREE BLEACH and TAP WATER onto every inch of your bedroom, and other rooms on top floor of home. Continue spraying into any other areas that you may think could have had direct contact with your skin.

Eighth Step: When linens and clothing are done washing, put linens back to where they came from and spray them again with a conservative amount of spray bottle mixture.

Immediatley when we left the beach my right arm, where my elbow is or fold is, it began to burn & itch really bad. I figured I had just suffered from being sunburned. For about 2 - 3 days my arm itched like crazy and I figured it was dry/sunburned skin, so I kept putting lotion or aloe gel on the site. Until I noticed the trail inbedded under my skin. I knew it was scabies & or mites. Immediateley I changed all my bedding, clothes and made sure that I washed my hands regularly. The itching would be so bad that it would wake me every night. I couldn't stand it anymore. I dont have medical insurance to get a prescription from a doctor, so I came across this site. What a relief, I had to use household / holistic remedies to treat this. The Citrus Listerine/Mouthwash really works. I'd apply it the area, let it completly dry, then I would apply straight Orange Oil (you can get it @ health food stores for about $2-$3). I did this twice a day, if not more when needed, at night and in the morning. The itching has completley stopped, the discoloration is fading...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this home remedy, THIS ONE WORKS !!!! :)"

Of couse I have used tons of over the counter remedys to no final avail,to be honest I sent in a remedy that in the end didn't work for me,so this time I'll just say to try it,you might like it. I heard of people using listerine for scabies and Black Pepper Mites (check about them ,they mimic scabies, you might be suffering from them instead ) I went to my brothers house to borrow listerine (next door)and all they had was Equate Citrus antiseptic mouthwash, I went home put some in a small wash basin in the tub stood in it and soaked myself from top of head to soles of feet, I let it air dry on me and it is very sticky, but low and behold black dots started popping out of my flesh!! I remembered working at a hotel where they used citrus spray for fleas and mites from peoples pets, I rinsed off before going to bed, should have left it on ,but this is the best my skin has felt in 8 months, I still have itches but very few. which I dab with the mouthwash and soak my feet each night,Wal-Mart has it in big bottles and it's cheap, don't have to tell you guys to keep up with borax in the carpets and wash and cover that mattress with plastic and clean it w/ diluted clorox, hope so much this helps someone out there."

I use it as a deoderizer, but if you spray more than just a little, it makes you cough, it's very strong. The directions warn that it can burn the skin. I believe I have scabies, and thought i would try adding a little to some to olive oil. I'm not sure how it will work."

Thank you for posting the orange oil remedy. I have been battling with scabies for about one year, used different remedies and cleaning and washing. I used permethrin 5% x2, recently I did 3-day sulphur cream. It seems that I'm not cured! I ordered orange oil and mixed with aloe to 10%. May you post on how many times do you apply the orange oil a day? Do you make the lotion 10% to apply on the body? and how long did it take you or your friend to get rid of it?"

Afterwards, I dried off with towel. No rinsing needed. Then I put generous amount of perm all over my body, and left it on for 14 hours and rinsed everything off the next morning. I also washed all my sheets and comforter and towels daily in hot water, extra hot dryer. Clothes was treated in same manner, after every wear. it's worth it, even if the clothes shrinks. REPEAT for 2 days, or 3 days if still feeling creepy crawllys.

I think I am cured, I hope I am cured. This was by far the worse thing that has happened to me, and thank god for this website, or else I wouldn't know what to do."

08/15/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "Scabies are a microscopic insect that burrow into your skin and leave marks that look like flea or misquito bites. It is very diffucult to be rid of because they are micoscopic and they reproduce rapidly. It burrows into the top layer of your skin, digs a tunnel and makes a nest using the fibers of your clothes, then it lays 1-3 eggs every day which hatch in a few days. They become larvae which then travel down the tunnel to the surface of your skin and hang onto the hair on your skin until they turn into adults a few days later, then they burrow into your skin and continue this disgusting process. If you scratch your skin, the eggs get under your nails and you tranfer them to other parts of your body very quicklty. This spreads it and makes it harder to get rid of. The adults cannot live outside your body for more than 72 hours; however, the eggs can last for years in clothes, furniture, etc. You must kill the eggs left under your skin before they hatch or you could have this stuff for years!

I was fortunate to know right away that I had Scabies because someone close to me was diagnosed and was undergoing treatment when I visited him. He told me right off that he was being treated for Scabies (didn't know what that was at the time) and that his dermatologist said that he was not contagious as long as he was undergoing the treatment, but we found this to be untrue in my case! I noticed the first itchy spots the very next day and all I did was sit on his couch for a couple hours watching a movie. Most people don't find out they have Scabies for weeks and by that time they are severely infested and so his their home, car, office, or places they frequent. This makes it more difficult to rid themselves of this horrible disgusting parasite and to prevent others from catching it. Here's what I did to get rid of it in 5 days and what I passed onto my friend, who was much more infested than me, and also was able to get rid of it completely in about 2 weeks.

Here's what you need to purchase at the store:

  • Organic apple cider vinegar (ACV) not white vinegar (1 part vinegar 8 parts water) in new clean spray bottle. Used to sterilize.
  • Hydrogen peroxide.
  • Q-tips
  • Bleach (1 part bleach 4 parts water) in spray bottle. Used to sterilize.
  • 100% peppermint oil
  • 100% tea tree oil
  • Non-itch formula (1/4 cup coconut oil with 3 drops peppermint oil and 6 drops tea tree oil). Also kills adult Scabies and their larvae.
  • A box of Borax or Baking soda sanitizes the wash.
  • Plastic mattress cover and plastic bags that can be sealed or tied shut completely. Mattress cover should cover your entire mattess (like the kind that zips up).
  • Either purchase Castle peppermint liquid soap, or put a few drops of peppermint oil in your shampoo and liquid body soap.
  • Purchase a new nylon body scrubber to wash with don't use washclothes.

Antibacterial soap to wash hands throughout the day or you can use any liquid soap with a few drops of peppermint oil. Using antibacterial soap too much will dry out your hands eventually, I found out later.

You must be deligent at all times to get rid of this horrible pest, not just for yourself, but for those you care about or come in contact with throughout the day.

1. Remember at all times that you are highly contagious and infected until ALL red spots are completely gone (about 10 days since the last spot left). DON'T EVER SCRATCH IT that's how you spread it. As soon at it itches, apply the non-itch formula, even if this means you must wake up in the middle of the night to apply the formula.

2. Don't touch or hug anyone! If you come in close contact with someone while you are infected, you MUST warn them that you are infected and that they should check themselves twice daily to see if they get bite marks, which typically show up first under their arms, on their back, or inside their thighs.

3. Clean and sterilize anything that you've touched until ALL red spots are gone! Such as: bedsheets, pillows, blankets, clothes, towels, brushes, combs, door knobs, car seat, steering wheel, office chair, toilet seats (use covers). Wash everything in hot water, add ¼ cup baking soda or Borax to wash, and dry in hot dryer. If you can't wash it, spray it with the Apple Cider vinegar solution or dryclean it, or throw it out inside a plastic bag and put in trash outside the home.

4. To keep from having to wash bed pillows every day, I wrapped mine tightly with plastic trash bags.

5. Remove rugs from bathroom floor. If your bathroom is carpeted, cover the carpet with rugs that can be washed after every shower.

6. My daily routine was as follows:

  • Didn't do anything until I first stripped bed of sheets, pillow cases, blankets, pjs, underwear and put in them in washer right away (not in the laundry basket, but in the washer). But didn't turn on washer until I got out of shower. If you get up and go into kitchen and make coffee or do something before you do this, you may be spreading the pest to other places in your house without knowing it. So get in the shower first thing. They seem to reproduce more active during the night, thus they could be on the surface of your skin, so if you have any on your skin when you wake, you could easily transfer them to another location that you or someone else could pick up later.
  • Spray mattress and pillows (that are wrapped in plastic bags) with bleach formula.
  • Stand in shower and put hydrogen peroxide all over your body, especially on the sores. Wait 5 minutes, then shower with hot water as hot as you can stand it.
  • While in shower, first wash hands from hyrodgen peroxide – don't get in eyes, wash hair with peppermint soap (I used Castle peppermint liquid soap, but you can put a few drops of peppermint oil in any body wash or liquid soap and use this), then wash body with peppermint soap. If you shave, use throwaway shavers and don't use them more than once. Don't use peppermint soap on private areas and careful not to get in eyes, only because it stings. Use your regular soap on private areas and your regular shampoo and cream rinse after using the peppermint soap. Don't use regular soap on other areas of your body. You need to keep as much of the non-itch formula on your skin throughout the day as possible because when the larvae come to the surface of your skin and come in contact with the peppermint and also the tea tree oil, it kills them. It wears off after a few hours. The coconut oil is not only used to dilute the peppermint oil and tea tree oil, but the coconut oil also has natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties that help to keep the skin clean. The coconut oil also helps to smother the adult Scabies. I read that you can also use olive oil, but I used coconut oil because I already knew of its other benefits. I've used coconut oil for years to keep from catching colds, flu, etc. The peppermint and coconut oil are also natural exfolients that keep the skin moist and will help to keep the skin from drying out due to all the washings.
  • Before getting out of shower, spray shower wall, floor and everything in shower with the bleach formula. Get out of shower and towell off, then put the same towell on the floor and stand on this until you are ready to dress.
  • After towelling off and combing hair with pre-sterilized brush (soaked in bleach or ACV formula), apply the non-itch formula to each sore then rub it into the rest of your body all over, including the face.
  • Spray down sink, toilet, and bathroom floor with ACV solution and wipe up with same towel and put this towell in washer with bedding.
  • Put on clean clothes that have not not worn yet or that have been washed in hot water with Borax or bleach.
  • Turn on washer. Put everything in dryer and dry hot for 50 minutes (before you leave for work so that they are ready when you arrive home later).
  • Take ACV spray with you to work along with the non-itch formula.
  • Put a clean towell over car seat and then spray towel on seat and steering wheel each morning before getting into car with the ACV spray.
  • While at work, use caution. Do not touch anyone (shake hands) or exchange materials with others that you have touched. Do not scratch, apply non-itch formula to sores several times during the day and as as often as needed. Spray office chair with Apple cider vinegar solution before sitting on it. It's best if you can stay home and isolated if possible. However, I know that everyone can't do this.
  • When you arrive home, get clean towels and clothes (not those in the dryer these are for later) and repeat steps to take a shower BEFORE sitting down or touching anything don't take clean items out of dryer until AFTER you have showered. If you have to sit down on anything, put a clean towel down first, but recommend you shower as soon as you can. Don't forget to put the towel you sat on in the washer before someone else sits on it. Also, don't put dirty clothes in hamper, put them in a trash bag. If you did, spray hamper with bleach formula.
  • Now take clean bedding, pjs, etc. Out of dryer and make bed. You should be clean the rest of the night, but I also sprayed my feet with the Apple Cider vinegar spray each time before I put them into bed. Try to get up during the night to reapply the non-itch formula. Once it wears off, you can get bitten again very easily and this whole process has to start all over again!
  • Repeat this routine daily until ALL red spots are gone. Takes about 10 days after last bite is totally healed.
It's hard and exhausting, but you can win and get rid of these things if you are patient, deligent, and don't give up!

Day 1 - I started out with six sores the morning after I came in contact with infected person. I had five bites under my right arm, one under my left arm. These things are extremely itchy and when you scratch them, they hurt! When hot water hits them they string! I Began treatment later that evening (day 2), next morning I had 7 more (13 total) under left arm, under breast, inside left upper thigh and inside right leg by knee, and even one on the back of my neck. Day 3, no new ones and the first ones started to get lighter. Day 4, no new ones and first ones were almost gone. Day 5 all but two bites were almost gone. There were two that would not go away. Kept applying hydrogen peroxide could see welts around the bite area that were the eggs under the skin. Skin looked normal until I soaked the area with the hyrodgen peroxide. Eventually 2 days later they started to go away too. However, when I was still recovering from the last one, I was forced to take care of my quad son to feed him, because his caretaker had a death in the family. While I was feeding him dinner (darn it I should have worn latex gloves), he got three small bites on his neck. I treated it right away with hydrogen peroxide, but by the next morning his face, neck, shoulders, and scalp were covered with hundreds of bites! So, I covered myself up as much as possible, wore latex gloves and began treating him too. My last sore was nearly gone by now, so I thought I was ok, but I WAS NOT! My poor son. The only place he can feel is above his shoulders and the entire area is covered with bites. He can't stop scratching rubs his head and neck on his wheelchair headrest, so it is making it harder to get rid of. I let all his caretakers go and I stayed home from work to care for him. After putting the hyrogen peroxide all over his face and neck using a q-tip, they burn itch horibbly. Then applied the non-itch formula all over his body, did better. 2nd night he could actually sleep thru the night thank God. But, even though I covered myself all over while caring for him, I still woke up with a new bite on my arm! These things are so horrible and very hard to get rid of.

I recommend that you go online and read everything you can about what other people had to go through with this horrible parasite and what things they did that helped. Best site I found was www.earthclinic.com/CURES/scabies.html. Don't totally trust what doctors tell you (even a dematologist) and don't waste money purchasing products created to treat this pest they aren't guaranteed and the household items I used worked fine! My friend's dermatologist did not tell him that others could get infected if they sat on his infected couch like it did! If you don't follow the above instructions, you may continue to get reinfested and end of having to take some really bad stronger medicine that could cause other major health problems. Just read others' unbelieveable stories on the internet who have been through this. Some were infected for years!

Another thing to note. My friend went to his dermatologist. The standard remedy given is to prescribe Permethrin cream, which includes a toxic synthetic chemical commonly used as a pesticide! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permethrin#Stereochemistry. They tell you to cover your body with this stuff and leave it on ALL NIGHT! Are they kidding this chemical is banned in 40 countries but not in the USA. This chemical is known to cause cancer, seizures, and Parkinson's disease!

I am a Christian and I believe that the Lord helped me figure out how to get over this stuff quickly by 1) leading me to the treatment info I needed to get be rid of it, and 2) reminding me to be deligent about doing what needed to be done when it needed to be done and stick with it, even when it was in the middle of the night when I was dead tired and didn't want to get up and put the non-itch formula on my sores. It seems to itch the most at night. I was so, so tempted to just scratch it and go back to sleep. I thank God He helped me through this so that my son and I could be free of it and not infest anyone else. I pray that my journal and instructions help someone else get free from these awful things. Hang in there, pray, trust the Lord and He will get you through it!

Found out later that you DO NOT want to put the bleach on your skin. Causes the adult to burrow deeper into your skin. Use the hyrogen peroxide - works better at killing them inside their tunnels - the eggs too."

08/17/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "OMG, I'm not going to tell Bobby what I discovered this morning or he'll freak out and get more stressed out. He's doing fine and only has a few bites left, but I discovered this morning that I have literally THOUSANDS under my skin!!!! I'm trusting the Lord totally on all this as there must be a reason for it all. It's not true about what the doctors say and the stuff you read on those medical websites about Scabies - it's not that easy to cure. Even on the Mayo Clinic website. If you want to know the TRUTH about his stuff, go to http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/scabies.html and read all the horrible, disgusting stories of these poor people's experience with this. I posted my experience on there too and am continuing to update the process that I am following so that it might help others too. I don't want to talk on the phone about this as I don't want Bobby to overhear me.

Bobby initially got hundreds of bites just from those first initial 3 bites that he got from me while I was feeding him. But with the process I'm using to treat him, he was 50% better after the first day, then 75% better after the second day. Last night he only had a few spots left on his face. Thank God. I am wearing gloves at all times and long-sleeve shirt and long pants so I don't spread it to him. I was pretty confident that mine was nearly gone because I only had one bite left. Then this morning I decided to put the hydrogen peroxide all over my body just to see if there were any more hiding somewhere. My upper right leg showed thousands of little red spots, also both of my upper arms and front legs. I even had them on the tops of my hands! I freeked out. OMG. Prayed. Calmed down and just dealt with it. Now I realize that those bites that I could see on my skin where where the bugs initially burrowed into my skin. They stayed under my skin and burrowed all over like moles laying eggs everywhere!

So, I asked myself, why is Bobby doing so good and now I have this. These have probably been here all along without me knowing it becuase my process was a little different from his. The process I used was to put the hydrogen peroxide only on the bites, wait for about 5-10 mins - as long as I could stand the stinging/itching, then get in the hot shower, and clean up with peppermint soap, then cover my body with the non-itch formula (coconut mixed with tea tree oil and peppermint oil). Then resume my day and do the same thing in the evening. I wasn't putting the hydrogen peroxide on my entire body because I didn't SEE any bites. Also, I would wash off the hp in the shower. With Bobby being paralyzed, I could not wash his off, so I just left it on then put the co mixture on his entire body. THAT WAS IT!!!! I needed to keep the hp on my entire body and not wash it off. I took a video of my leg so I could show this to others who are going through this. So, I put the hp all over my body, took my shower, then put it all over my body again, then covered myself with the co mixture. This seems to be working better now, but won't know until tonight. If the red spots lesson, I'll know that I finally have the correct procedure to follow. If not, and it is worse, I'll need to call my doctor and ask her to prescribe the insecticide (Permethin) and just do it as much as I hate to have to resort to that stuff. What choice to I have. I also learned that you MUST treat your entire body, even your head, face, ears, private area - everywhere, because when you put the hp on, they freek out and look for a place to go where it is not on your skin!!!!! I'm praying that I won't have to use the Permithrin stuff, but I am getting desparate to get rid of thes awful, disgusing things. I will run out of sick time in about another week, so much find a way to get rid of these soon. Here's some good news. Yesterday I was so exhausted I didn't think I could make it through another night getting up every couple hours taking care of Bobby. Today I feel much stronger - thank the Lord. I also lost over 5 pounds so far with all the workout of taking care of B obby, constant cleaning/sanitizing everything in sight, etc. You can't beileve the toll this takes on a person. Please keep praying for us. Thanks."

[YEA]  08/18/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "Update 8/18/2011. Just discovered last night that clove oil kills the adults, larvae, AND penetrates the eggs and kills the eggs too in less than an hour. Read the latest research on this from Australia. This was just discovered last August - go here to read about the study results http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0012079. They had a serious virilent strain of scabies that was Permithrn resistant.

My husband has been under a Dermotologist's care for 3 weeks now and he was prescribed Permithrin twice and still has only killed about 10 percent of them. Me and my son are finally getting relief from these awful things. The ratio we started with is 1 part clove oil and 3 parts coconut oil. Also, put 1/2 ounce in a spray bottle filled with water and sprayed the entire house - EVERYTHING!!! We put it on us last night and didn't feel them crawling all night, plus all day today. Tonight I notice a few, but nothing compared to the night before. I've read that when the last bite is gone and there is no more itching, you must wait 10 days after this to be considered cured. But, must keep up with keeping everything clean (new sheets every day, etc. As I indicated in my process above) for at least 3 months to prevent a reinfection. I'll keep you up to date on our progress, but for now, we are feeling like we are finally out of the worst of it! I know the Lord helped me to find the info we needed to get set free from this awful stuff, also so that I could share it with so many of you who have suffered for way to long with the disgusting stuff. God Bless!"

08/19/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "Update 8/19/11. Contining to use the clove oil. Going on third day of treatment and for me they are 85% gone, for my son, 90% gone! Thank God. Will continue this treatment until gone. Read that you are still contagious up to 10 days after the last bite is gone! Be careful. If you get infested again, just hurry and apply the clove oil treatment and it will not get very far. Keep up the cleaning for at least two more months to get all the eggs out of your house becaues they can cause reinfestation even a year later! Just read all the posts from people who have been there! Thank God we finally have a way to cure these.

My son is suffering from Scabies only on his face, neck, and head, so don't believe this OLD understanding of Scabies. Scabies in the US has become more verilent and resists many of the drugs dermatologists still prescribe. My husband has been treated with Scafbies for 3 weeks with these drugs and is only 10% cured. My son and I discovered the latest research on this in Austrailia about Clove oil, w hich kills the adults, larvae and eggs in 15 mins! But takes at least two weeks of continued treatment to get them all out of your body! Mix 1 part clove oil with 3 parts extra-virgin coconut oil (or olive oil) I'm using cococut oil because it has other needed benefits to keep the bites from becoming infected. After 3 days of treatment, I'm 80% cured and my son, who is paralyzed, is 90% cured! Thank God. Also read about other's experience with using clove oil at: http://www.topix.com/forum/health/scabies/THU ..."

an Australian study conducted last year, we decided to give clove oil a go. We are having excellent results after 2 days. We are diluting 1 part clove oil to 3 parts grapeseed oil. Cover entire body including scalp. For genitals and, nose and eyelids we are using 1 part clove oil to 9 parts grapeseed oil as it can sting when applied. Well worth a try we have tried everything out there."

CLOVE OIL

11/12/2011: J. from Gold Coast, Qld, Australia writes: "I just came across the article called "Clove oil can be treatment for itchy rash" which discusses a new study from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Australia. In the article the researches discuss how they discovered clove oil is effective in killing the scabies mite.

"Researchers tested the clove oil, nutmeg oil and ylang ylang oil on two different types of mites in the laboratory to see how many died from contact with the oils.

'We tested the oils on the mites, and found that clove oil killed all the mites within 15 minutes'."

"The importance of this research is that the scabies mite has become increasingly resistant to current treatments, especially in Northern Australia where scabies is common. Our research aims to identify naturally occurring compounds that can combat scabies and prevent resistance from occurring."

In my opinion it needs to be diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut oil before applied to the body (we tried to stay at the 6% strength that was mentioned in the article to being 100% effective in killing both normal scabies as well as scabies that have built up a resistance to permethrin, within 15 minutes).

Up until now we've been using borax & hydrogen peroxide baths twice a day, neem oil and tea tree in coconut oil and applied after the baths, DE (Diatomaceous earth) and borax on the carpets and DE on the car seats, plus washing everything in borax and hot water and changing clothes after each bath, clean clothes in bags, dirty clothes in separate bags until washed (all remedies learned thanks to this site! ).

I just read about the research on Clove Oil today so that has been added to our coconut oil as of now. Not sure when we will know when the scabies are finally gone, have been at it for 9 days now, will give it a couple of days with the Clove Oil just to be sure. Does anyone know if these remedies will actually sink into the skin and kill the female mite? Or will it just kill the babies as they hatch from the eggs and come to the surface?

I hope this helps!"

12/08/2011: Njnit from Newark, Nj replies: "I think I contracted scabies from a chair that was given to me. I tossed that chair in the trash and ran to my doctor who prescribed permethrin. It seemed to work well and I was bite free for about 3 weeks and then started getting bites again, although no where near as bad as the first time. I seem to have stopped it from spreading this time by applying a mixture of coconut oil, clove oil, neem oil, and tea tree oil. Of course, I am cleaning my home thoroughly with a 50/50 bleach mixture and washing my clothing/bedding/towels with borax. I have also been using a scrub made from citrus soap and borax in the shower.

I mixed a big batch of oil and apply it two or three times daily all over my body. (My husband says I smell like a spice rack.)

I use:

8 oz coconut oil

1 oz clove oil

4 dropper fulls neem oil

.5 oz tea tree oil

I also added two heaping teaspoons of sulfur powder.

(I bought everything online.)

The oil warms the skin almost as if you applied "icy hot" or some other muscle relaxing cream. I like it but, others may find it too hot in which case you may want to lessen the amount of clove oil.

The neem oil and sulfur smell awful, but the other oils mask the smell. Based on what I have read on this site, I will probably add some orange oil to the mixture for good measure.

It's too soon to say that I'm cured, but I seem to have stopped it from spreading. Although no one else in my family has caught this, I'm going to begin treating them with a milder version of the killer oil. Better to be safe than sorry!

Good luck all!"

[YEA]  08/25/2011: Curedmyscabies from Paterson, New Jersey writes: "HELLO EVERYONE,

I have been cured of scabies for about 4 months now and feel obliged to enlighten every suffering human being of the secret. Two Words: CLOVE OIL. It can be purchased from any type of natural food store including whole foods, or online. When using it, you should probably dilute it in another type of oil, I used jojoba oil. So probably about 1 drop of clove per 2 teaspoon of jojoba. Mix it up. Rub this mixture all over the body and leave on for 15-30 minutes. Shower and make sure you have washed all of your linens and clothes beforehand with SPECIFIC DETERGENT. BORAX. ADD at least a cup and a half of borax to each load of laundry and make sure you have cleaned everything in your home or you will be reinfected. You may feel the scabies coming out or literally freaking out on your skin, like I did. They came out of tiny wholes and pretty much looked like they were suffering and eventually stopped moving after 20 minutes which is when I showered. It took me a few times to completely get rid of them, so don't feel hopeless if it doesnt work the first time. BUT IT WORKS! It took me approximately 4-5 days to completely rid them and I'm glad I did. Hopefully you guys will take my advice and no longer suffer. G-d Bless!"

08/28/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "How did you see these? I looked through a magnifying glass with a light shining on my skin and still could not see anything. I used the clove oil too, but I leave it on all day so that when they come out onto my skin they get a taste of it and die right away. Not sure about the jojoba oil, but I used coconut oil because it absorbs deeper into your skin. Most other oils only lay on the surface. Best to put it on just after the shower while your pores are open so it absorbs deeper into your skin. Also, if you are using the Permethrin cream, doctor's tell you that you are no longer contagious and then need to apply in again in a week. This was absolutely not true in my case. Got it from my husband AFTER in between his Permethrin treatments. Use the clove oil mixture even it you are taking to Permithrin just in case there are some stragglers hanging around that could reinfect you. If you are using bleach, they will kill the adults that are on your skin, but the ones that are under your skin - most of them, will be driven further into your skin to get away from it, then it is even harder to reach them AND they will be doing their burrowing deeper in your skin making more tunnels and causing more damage. I used the clove oil with much success, but wasn't sure if they were all gone, so I took the Permithrin treatment and clove oil at same time, it's almost gone now. No more itching, but they say the rash and some red spots will continue up to 3 weeks after the last treatments as your body secrete the dead mite, their larvae, eggs, and waste from your body. Hang in there. If this persists more than 6 weeks, go see an infectuous disease doctor for sure."

CONTRACTING SCABIES

05/26/2011: Anonymous from Mendota, Usa writes: "animals cannot get scabies. the mites can only live on human skin, and human skin alone. the only way to get scabies in the first place is by prolonged skin to skin contact. for example how a mother hugs her child more than once a day. shaking of the hand or one simple hug will not contract them. the scabies can only live without a host for 3 days. simply vacate your house for three days and they will be gone(from your home anyway). make sure you take treatment durring then so not to reinfest your environment."

If one can work up to a high mix of clove oil which feels like a burning sensation, and leave this on for 15 minutes and wash off after, it will promtly kill all mites."

08/25/2011: Lorisayshey from San Diego, Ca replies: "Happysoul, Good for you, you are one of the few so far that I've seen on this site that has figured out how well the clove oil works. You will soon be free from these if you keep it up, don't give up, it will take up to 2/3 weeks to get all of them out of your system, but their numbers will decrease and their bites will lesson each day. If I could offer a suggestion which I think I also recently figured out. I tried various ratios on the mix of clove oil with coconut oil/extra virgin olive oil and it seems like a 1 to 4 is tolerable and yet very potent to the pests. My son uses the olive oil because he is paralyzed and needs an oil that will stay on his skin longer since he sleeps a long time. I use the co because I can apply it throughout the day. I put it on in the morning after my shower, at around noon, then again after my shower at night. Then during the day if I even feel the slightest itch I attack it with another application.

Seems to me that what is happening is... First application killed all the adult mites and the larvae that were exposed to the clove oil mixture - this reduced the numbers significantly, but not all. Each day another set of eggs hatch and those that don't get a taste of the oil who make it to the surface seem to die when they go to burrow into my skin as they get a nice taste of clove oil. Poor guys, but good riddance I say. Then, if they are killed before they get a chance to lay their eggs, this reduces the numbers yet again. I see red spots coming to the surface every day, some itch, most don't. It seems that one that itch are the active ones because its the toxin they secrete during their burrowing that causes the itch. The other spots may just be their residue being excreted from under the skin, so don't get too freaked out thinking that you were reinfested, when the dead ones along with their larvae, eggs, and excrement are being excreted. The way you know if you still have live active ones under your skin is to douse your skin with hydrogen peroxide over your entire body - watch the eyes and private parts. This allows you to see EVERYTHING under you skin, the burrow marks, larger spots were there are adults OR eggs. The eggs sometimes appear as a white welt or pinprick red hard bump, like a grain of sand, under your skin. The first time I poured on the hp, I freaked. My upper leg was covered with a red rash and tons of bumps. I covered my leg with the co mixture, the next day 75% it was gone! I recommend that you try to keep the clove on your skin as long as you can, because if a larvae comes to the surface it will die when it hits the clove oil, or if a new adult decides to burrow into your skin and the co mixture is not there, it will lay more eggs. So, use a ratio of the oils that works for you, but don't wash it off. Clean washed skin is their favorite meal! :) The way to win this war is to REDUCE THE NUMBERS."

10/22/2011: Markx from Sgp, Singapore replies: "05/26/2011: Anonymous from Mendota, Usa

Animals do get mites - dogs have their 'own versions' of sarcopties and demodex, as do pigs, and as do many other animals. These species don't usually result in sustained infections on humans, but human infection is possible.

I believe some individuals are far more resistant to scabies than others.

I can't shake it off for months, but my wife and daughter only need one conventional treatment. After too much contact with me, even when I think I'm cured, they get itchy spots again, but one or two treatements will cure them.

On each occasion I've had it, it has taken me at least six weeks to get rid of it, with repeated rotated, conventional treatments.

Another point: While transmission is most likely by sustained skin to skin contact, a simple hand shake will do it.

I have seen that myself. I went into a boardroom whilst I had a diagnosed, (treated and almost recovered) scabies infection, I shook hands with everyone, then we sat around the table and started talking. Half an our into the meeting, one manager on the other side to the table started scratching the crease inside his elbow... on his right arm, the one I had just shaken! His scratching intensity increased to the point he took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeve to examine his arm.

I was too embarassed to say anything.

Interesting to note that he had obviously had a prior exposure to react so quickly (but then, at about 50 years of age, that is very likely to have occurred)."

DE kills mites of all kinds by acting like ground glass inside them destroying their innards, but is safe to humans and pets, make sure you get the FOOD GRADE and not the one for pool filters which is dangerous! Get a large winter type sock with loose weave, fill it w/ the fossil flour and walk your house patting it, you will see it clouding and falling to the floor, use on furniture and any places you freguent often, like your PC. I dusted my comforter on both sides good, to keep from washing it all the time! Same for pillows although mine are in sealed garbage bags. Last try to keep yourself dusted from scalp to soles of feet for at least a week,a ll crawling sensations will disappear along with biting, from here on in I'm keeping my house dusted as the fine film blends in on carpet and furniture, in case of other types of mites. Neem is still a good shampoo additive, one dropper full to your handful of regular shampoo, well Good luck to all."

You can buy it at nurseries and garden centers, too, but for far more expensive. We drink ours. I don't have hot flashes when I drink it. I took several tablespoons twice daily, and the next day the flashes quit. I vacationed in the Carribbean without air conditioning for two weeks, and the flashes still didn't happen.

I also quit having gluteal hamstring pulls--I have no idea why they quit the day after I began taking the silica. I'd had them for 5 years previously, as long as I'd been running. However, four months ago I changed my running form from heel strike to forefoot strike, and the hamstring pulls never recurred, even without my taking silica. Strange, but my knees and ankles quit hurting when I changed form, too.

When I quit taking silica, however, my hot flashes returned.

I can't tell what else silica did for me because I am not aware of having any other health problems."

Just to list a few other things it helped us with... More energy, great poops, husband has hair growing in areas that were receeding, his hair does not look as grey, He no longer has a big belly, he has lost weight, no lower back, shoulder or knee pain, have not had other pains he was taking handfuls of ibuprofen for on a daily basis, no longer taking allergy med's, no more antacids and we eat spicey foods daily, skin and nails look better and grow fast! We do not have the morning smokers cough either. Give it a try, the itching will stop and you will be soooo relieved and you'll love the other benefits too:) We are currently taking 1 to 2 Tbs of this daily and have been for 4 months now, we mix it with V8 Splash (stir well) and drink it down in a shot, rinse glass with cold water and drink what remains in the cup."

BETTER BUT NOT CURED

[YEA]  07/21/2009: Sharon from Wesley Chapel, FL writes: "scabies is cured!!

My mom and I hd been fighting these scabies mites for 4 years now. Came from chickens she bought from a farmer. We tried everything, and thank god for earthclinic and Ted's recommendations, but still no permanent cheap relief as I was unable to treat the beds and get em all killed. After spending $3000 on a sleep number bed,I couldnt just replace it. However--My mom called me up and told me that spraying hydrogen peroxide solution on herself all over killed the things. I had found it at walmart listed as non-chlorine bleach with a pink label. I tried it and was a little disapointed, maybe 70% results. I figured I had not treated everything in my house properly. Also, I was reading about DMSO. I read where the DMSO goes deep into the skin and you had better be clean where you apply it or it will take the dirt down deep with it. So, I mixed 3/4 cup DMSO, 1 cup water and 1 cup peroxide bought at wal-mart into a spray bottle. Its called non-chlorine bleach with a pink label next to the regular bleach. BINGO, instant kill rate even below the skin. I had to treat the really big spots for a couple of days until they dried up. Now I had the perfect spray for me, my bed, my car, my long haired dogs. Its a miracle. I recommend treating your whole body every day until you have no more spots as they will crawl out of a small "kill zone spray" if you dont add enough DMSO. I put in less (1/4 cup )DMSO and it didnt kill as fast, but still killed em. No smell either. Been 3 weeks now and on those in my family who used it, it works great. I have one family member in denial. however, even so, I can still treat his stuff without the big fight over the smell of the sulfur I was using."

I've used D.E. for years (11 ), to get rid of fleas on our dogs & cats, & lice on our livestock. I sprinkle it right on the animals & rub/brush it in really well - & then also sprinkle it liberally around their "loafing areas". We sprinkle it around our entire house during "flea season" & it makes a huge difference in the flea population issues that you just can't avoid during certain weather & when you have a zillion animals like we do, LOL. It does take longer than the noxious chemicals, but it does work!"

[YEA]  11/21/2007: Lynn from Kansas City, MO writes: "I having been viewing Earth Clinic for about a year now looking for more information on scabies. We have had a severe infestation for about 1 1/2 years now. My husband came home with a hunting dog a friend gave him. He told him it had red mange but it turned out to be sarcoptic mange, we were clue-less. Anyway all of our dogs caught it, we have 9. We used the borax and peroxide to start with because I never use chemicals on our dogs, even thier shampoo is all natural. As for the humans in the house, I have been covered with scabies from the start the boys and my husband have bites but nothing like me(is there a reason for this?). The guys took over all the animal care to keep me away from the bugs but I still get them off the laundry and if one of them come anywhere near me after they have been around the dogs, the bugs get on me! This has been a nightmare for over a year now. The family Doctor put us on permethrin cream and the Vet had the dogs on tac-tic (very poison!) We had been using the cream for months and the dogs had went to pro-late, sulfur dips and others, all poison. I have had dogs very sick for treatments and we have twitching eyes and just feeling ill and the last Doctor visit were givin Stromectol (thats ivomec for people). I have tried for months to figure out why we were unable to get rid of these things!!! My Vet and Dr both were treating us and the dogs but no one ever said anything about our horses and cattel!!!! Also mice rabbits and other varmints that may be here and there. My husband has been setting live traps for a week now and has caught 8 opossums just around the barn at night. We had no idea, neither have ever had mange or scabies and don't know a thing about them. Recently I found something that has worked better then anything else I have used. This is the first time in over a year that the front of my legs and thighs and my face have been clear! I would like you to check it out, I think it can help alot of people. I did have one problem with it, I was carrying a small spray bottle around with me so if I felt a bug on my face I could spray it (it would stop it dead in its tracts) but my face and other tender parts of my skin were getting a little raw, I looked sunburned. I was using it alot more then I really needed to but I could not take these bugs running across my face and getting in my ears anymore. Its a pesticide-free formula that contains enzymes from plant sources. It kills head lice too. I found it at my health food store. I don't want to give the name but I have never seen it in any of my web surfing. They do have a web sight www.s-e-a.net you can check it out and decide if you want to share this with others on your site. This stuff has been wonderful for me, its giving me my life back. I don't sell it and have no interest in it other then using it. I really hope this can help others, its been a long horrible journey for me!!!"

I've read through the various replies, and it looks as though some of the commenters do not have scabies, because animals cannot carry the parasite (from the numerous articles I've read anyway). Anyway, I've had them for a few years, and mostly used the lice poison found at the supermarket. It helped somewhat, but it's poison! So I looked and found a product called Lice R Gone that worked. It's an natural enzyme that eats away at their exo-skeleton. The only problem I am having is that I have them on my foot, and it's a bit difficult to get through some of the tough skin, and even one small missed are will cause an outbreak eventually. It was cheap, it smelled pleasant, and very effective. Once my foot is cleared up, I'm done! Hope you all find relief!"

01/25/2010: Sharon from Wesely Chapel, Florida replies: "To those of you who think mites cannot be transferred between humans and animals, I'm sorry, they can. We got our initial infection from some chickens-not a scabies mite, but a rat mite according to the lab at University of Texas who tested ours. There appears to be some mis-labeling due to the spread of different kinds of mites. Also, keep in mind that your local vets and docs do not know how to deal with the unknown mites- they are only used to what their books tell them. You cannot see them without the aid of bi-focal glasses a good magnifying glass. This type of rat mite lived in some washed blankets I had stored in my huge closet for over a year! When we got them out the next winter,we were all itching like mad in less than 30 min. and had to get up, strip everything and take a shower. They have killed my mom's parrot (ate thru his ears into his brain), and my sister's dog (infested a cat bite in his throat and the vet said it looked like a tumor, only 2 months after the bite). When my mom got tested, they sliced a piece of her infected abdomen skin. Under the microscope it only looked like many bits and pieces of mites, but mites. We infected our 4 pomeranians, even tho the vet said they could not get them as they were taking Revolution treatment once a month. We do not have scabies, according to the books, but it looks like scabies. Its itches like scabies, and it spreads rapidly. On the dogs, it looks like mange around the eyes and mouth. If I had not had two adult males in denial, I could have already rid myself of them. Ps, I am currently taking 2 tsp of curry powder each day to keep them from biting me as I am extremely allergic and break out badly. If I get into an infested area, they will get on and crawl around and itch a little until I go shower them off with borax and H Pero. At least I am sleeping nights and no more sores, boils, infected areas. I am taking curry because it has a high concentration of turmeric and was all I had around the house. Started working after the second day. One website for spices said turmeric has been used topically (on the skin) for scabies. Best Wishes, and thank you Ted for your kind advice."

ESSENTIAL OILS

[YEA]  11/13/2009: Nicki from Chalais Charente, France writes: "I am a beekeeper and treat my bees with essential oils. I thought that if the oils kill the varroah mite they might kill scabies.

In 2 tablespoons of olive oil put:

15 drops of wintergreen
15 drops of peppermint oil
15 drops of neem oil
15 drops of oregano oil
and for good measure and soothing 10 drops of lavender

I tried it on my scabies
No more itching
No more rash - within one week it seemed to have gone - I shall keep going for another week in case there are any eggs left!!"

[YEA]  03/14/2011: Marie from Knoxville , Tn replies: "I agree with the essential oils getting rid of scabies, this is the mixture that worked for me:
In a cup of olive oil mix, two teaspoons of tea tree oil, a teaspoon of clove oil, a teaspoon of neem oil, and a teaspoon of orange oil. Rub it on your whole body like you would lotion before bedtime. I would do it for at least a month just to be sure. I put it on everynight because it also makes your skin so soft. The orange and clove oil really help the smell of the tea tree oil and the neem oil smell a lot better. This is so much better than all of the chemical treatments, and it really works. Vacuum and wash everything down and you should feel a lot better in a week or two."

I just read your letter on the essential oils that helped with scabies. I just got some scabies from who knows where these are terrible. I am desperate to get rid of them.

I was wondering exactly how the oils worked for you. Did they kill the scabies of just help with the itching or what? And how long did it take for you to rid them?

Please write me back,
Thank you,

I have read it fries small insects such as fleas and head lice and so far appears to have stopped the scabies. It doesnt irritate my skin. I think essential oils work but perhaps take a bit longer than the chemical based treatments."

They did work to relieve my itching, but I still got long welts on my skin which then turned into little bumps and itched like crazy. Wednesday I did some searching and found out that garlic is anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and could cure scabies. So I ran out an purchased a bottle at the $1 store. Skeptical that it was not going to be potent enough, I decided it wouldn't hurt to try. I took the supplements twice a day once in the morning and once at night. My supplements were 400mg. Use caution because too much garlic can make you sick. I was itch free completely within 2 days with no new bumps. I was sharing the bottle with my two boys, and did not realize that there were only two pills left today on Monday. So I gave the last two pills to my children. Now I sit here itching, but not to the degree that I was, but my children are not itching at all. First thing tomorrow I am getting another bottle. When i run out again I am going to try going off the pill again, will let you all know how well it works out. I wish eveyone luck. This thing is no picnic!"

09/19/2011: Roses from Tulsa, Ok writes: "I have used all the suggested thing to cure scabies. Some helped but most did not cure. I have had allergic reaction to some of the treatments such as too much bleach.

To change the PH balance and make my body uninviting to the pests, in desperation I used bottled lemon juice. Real lemon juice undiluted, right from the bottle. To be easier to apply poured it into a covered container and keep in the refrigerator. Oh, feels so good cold to sooth the itching. Would take my shower then after drying off. Use a clean wash rag soaked in the juice to totally wet my body down then allowed to air dry. Did this morning and night for two weeks, also vacuumed and washing bedding and clothes daily. Was mostly free of pests in 3 days but continued just to be sure. I have had scabies 5 times and my Dr says it is a pH imbalance problem so now I eat very little sweets, white flour products and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Sure don't want this again."

08/31/2009: Snubian from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania writes: "Hi all, I hope this helps someone. I am tramatised in Philly and have been battling this SCABBIE mite for 3mos. I used a few things in conjunction. First know your enemy this mite likes to nest in paper, anything poreous(sp)curtains, rugs, books, unfoRtunatly humans, as we who are suffering know. So trash anyhing in your house made of these substances, it especially likes to lay eggs in your bedding. I threw out almost all of my belongings and minimized everything. I went to kmart and bought twin fold out iron bed frame(100 bucks) and a swiss blow up mattress (43 bucks) one allergy fitted mattress cover to protect against microscopic pest. I purchased xtreme clean, medicated wash and salve and pest dust from Q base solutions on line. The dust should be fine mist throughout your home, it smothers the mite and strips its skeleton and that of its eggs, I also put it on my body to smother any emerging mite. Neutrogena acne prone skin body wash and scrub has acid in it and I found that it flattens out those bumps and heals the skin. Use vitamin e oil to help repair skin. Eat as much fresh cloves of garlic as you can stand because it is a natural anti parasitic and it will also help to fight off infections. Eat alot of fruit and veggies for the vitamin c to keep your immune system up, its needed against this bug, Wash all your bedding and clothing everyday. If you can, after a bath coat yourself with petrolium jelly and add tea tree oil which kills their egg cycle to keep them from breeding in your home. Fine mist that dust in your bedding too and on all hard surfaces(not too much because you dont want them walking on it) you want to choke them out. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!!! dO NOT TRASH ITEMS UNTIL YOU GET THE DUST, if you disturb any of their nest they may come after you and you want to protect yourself. Use the dust in your car because the mite goes where you go. I hope to God that this helps someone."

One, purchase lice/egg and killer and spray down your carpets and bedding and furniture to kill scabie mite. I was told by a pharmacist that it works just as well on killing the scabbie mite. Second, if your itching like crazy and you feel them everywhere on your body but you have no new bumps on tracks then there is more than a good chance that you are suffering a form of post traumatic stress as I was. This is not far fetched because the experience of this mite is so horrific that it may take some time until you accept that its really over. It took me 3trips to the E.R. and my final trip to the dermatologist (today) to convince me that there was nothing crawling all over me. I left a inchoherent, grammatical mess of a post on this site lastnight because as I typed I felt the creepy crawlies all over me. It was all in my head. Period. I sprayed the house down with the Rid lice killer just to be on the safe side. To those who REALLY are going through it, you have my deepest sympathies and prayer. DON'T DO YOURSELF BODILY HARM!!! Keep fighting and eat plenty of garlic to fight off possible infection. I endured the anguish of this creepy critter and understand. GOD BLESS YOU."

I think my house is infected so tonight I intend to go on a cleaning mission. I have leather couches and when you sit on them you can feel the mites jumping you. What to do there? I think my mattress is infested as well. I have sprayed with bleach. Also is there anything I can put in my steam cleaner to help kill these creeps? I itch constantly at work and am afraid and embarassed that my coworkers will get it! I need to do something in my office without drawing notice. [QUESTION]  04/19/2009: Sara from Brooklyn, NY writes: "i have scabies and sometimes find white stuff- lke tiny grains of salt- on my skin and bedding- what is it?? thanks"

Replies
06/29/2009: AiBella from Mathews, Virginia replies: "In response to the question of what you may be finding on your skin and in your bed that resembles tiny white grains:

You could be finding one or both of 2 things...

skin cells: every thirty days your skin "cycles" (for lack of a better word) all skin cells are sloughed off and replaced by the cells beneath it. It takes approximately 30 days for your deepest dermal layer of cells to reach your epidermal layer to be discarded.

eggs and parasite corpses: the above mentioned cycle also effects anything IN your skin layers. If you try a treatment and the creatures and eggs are killed, they are still there... and you will still itch until the "remains" are cycled. As the the new skin cells are forming, they push the older cells toward the surface. The surface cells die and fall off, are washed of, and even scratched off (as is the case with scabies). When the dead scabies and their eggs reach that top layer, they are "exfoliated" with the dead skin cells.

That is why you will continue to itch even if your treatment DID kill the parasites.
It also could very well explain what you're finding on your bed.
Since you know you have scabies and are using treatments (I assume) your epidermal layers of skin may be reacting to the treatments by dying which would cause excess exfoliation (think dandruff).

It is unfortunate that you haven't been able to get rid of the parasites... it seems that not only are you dealing with the allergies to the presence of dead parasites, but the condition is perpetuated. I seriously think you should have EVERYTHING about your life checked. For example, I work at a nursing home.... THAT'S where I picked up MY hitchhiking vampire mites. A condition of a resident that has had scoriasis since she was 15 years old was ignored (nurses and doctors even argued with me about it) and she has passed it not only to me and nearly every other resident on the unit I work on, but my 2 year old and my 5 year old.

I had gotten rid of them, and then the resident got transferred from another unit to my unit and she brought them with her.

Please don't ignore scabies!!! If think you can live with the itch, that's all well and good but scabies can cause skin infections from the scratching and the fecal matter. Skin infections cause liver and kidney problems!!!!!"

HOMEOPATHY: PSORINUM 30

[YEA]  01/08/2011: Bangalorean from Bangalore, India writes: "yea for Psorinum 30

After trying borax for another 2 months, laundry, bathing, etc. For the outbreak of mange in my area, and finally I developed scabies myself in the first week of December. I'm glad of it because I have found a better way to heal mange and scabies (cured 1 dog that was completely blackened and hairless and myself).

I read Peter Morell's PSORINUM http://www.homeoint.org/morrell/articles/pm_psori.htm and followed his protocol of 1 dose of psorinum 30 and to wait 2 months.

The first 5 days the itching was intolerable but within 9 days the scabs dried up. I got patches of scabies around my joints throughout the first month but without much itching.

I recommend this cure since it healed me and a dog already (he's already got most of his hair back) and please read to the end about surface cures, topical creams and aggravations."

CM"

02/03/2012: Bangalorean from Bangalore, India replies: "Cm and Jo, Sorry for not replying. Yes, 2 pellets of Psorinum 30c or 30x is more than enough for 2 months. Then you can repeat it. Acts as a preventative too. I've healed about 6 dogs with scabies with Psorinum 30.

I've had a few problems with moving up to Psorinum 200 (as Peter Morell suggests) that I'll explain:

1. Psor 200 brings up very deep aggravations of hidden diseases. If they're cancerous or have a systemic infection or failing organs, you'll see their entire body throws it out onto the skin, conditions which last for months. I've come to feel a dog's life is so short that there's no justification for going deeper.

2. Psorinum has an amplified effect in the fall. It is a very powerful remedy working for months on end so be warned.

Just stick with a couple of doses of Psorinum 30 spaced 3-6 months apart and the hair should grow back easily. Don't go higher unless you have a homeopath to advice."

02/05/2012: Bangalorean from Bangalore, India replies: "[Slightly long, sorry] Cm from Wilmington, Nc asks: "Any other advice on this treatment for scabies?

Re: other advice on the treatment of scabies - as soon as Psorinum does its work, if the hair isn't back, you'll notice that another homeopathic miasm, the Syphilitic miasm, rears its ugly head. Some dogs seem to inherit it at birth which is responsible for the bone and nervous disorders (incessant biting, itching, barking, irritability, restlessness), black patches, rupia, sores and eczema that accompany scabies. You can approach a good homeopath or go very carefully through the symptoms and treat it with Kali iod 6x, Aur met 6x and Nitric Acid 6x.

The way I recognise the Syphilitic miasm is by the waxing and waning of the symptoms with the moon cycle - its at its worst on full moon and a few days before a thunderstorm.

I'm beginning to think that this syphilitic tendency is the primary cause that draws the fleas, mites and fungus to the body (parasites after all can't live on a healthy host). Removing the parasites without removing the primary destruction is pointless.

Psorinum clears the case if it is simple or else shows the way to the deeper problem.

I hope that helps.:)"

HOT CLOTHS

[YEA]  09/02/2011: Annie Mae from Waltham, Ma, Usa writes: "For years I've tried everything that I could find that was non-toxic to annihilate my scabies. I was desperate -- just as desperate as those here whose posts I've seen. I tried the peroxide with borax and it did not help. But the grains of borax helped by being abrasive. Finally found sulphur powder. Mixed it with either eucerin moisturing cream and another batch with petroleum jelly. Again only temporary relief. Okay, two days ago my inner thighs were so chafed and sore that I applied an ointment which was of a mix Vitamins A and D in petroleum jelly. Bought at CVS. Just to fight the soreness, but I reached for the Vicks. Those things must have overlapped, this was my final attack for that night. I got up and did whatever needed doing around the house, and when I began ironing and felt the itch I took a cloth, rested my iron on the cloth -- it was VERY warm (hot) and I put it against the itch. Over and over I used a supply of washcloths that way. It proved to be the final blow to this curse.

I'll never really know if the vicks, the A & D ointment that began the end of the scabies, but I have seen a straight 24 hours that increased to 48 hours with no itch. Or if I itched I hit it with yet another hot cloth --- Do I dare feel cured? Desperation will push you to do unconventional things. And yes, I did plug the iron in and had it near my bedside. And yes, when what was left of the population kicked up at 2AM, I put on my light, turned the iron up, rested it onto a cloth and hit the itch with it and the thing came to a complete stop. This has been ongoing for now two almost three days. I've put away the things set up here that made my areas look like a laboratory. The clove oil, the various mixes of sulphurs, the rubber gloves for wiping down all plastic coverings with bleach, the diatomaceous earth, the dishes with a concoction of clove oil- d. Earth - moisturizing cream. Clove oil is caustic enough to eat into any mixing dish that isn't china or stone-ware. The inner peace at seeing my house look now as normal as before is healing itself.

My prayers were (and are) aimed at St Jude, St Joseph, St Anthony (dear St Anthony please look around my health is lost and cannot be found) . You've got to pray; man and his toxic concoctions made in labs are not always --- in this highly advanced age of moon shots etc ---enough, or might do it but leave you reeling from side effects. Not for me. Natural is always the best of options, first. Okay, the 'iron' isn't purely natural, but it sure seems to have been a good last resort at least for one who was sure there was only one way to rid myself of these: my death.

Do not put anything like metal onto your body ONLY A CLOTH THAT HAS BEEN MADE VERY WARM. I only say this because the desperation can drive us to the edge of madness. Terry is appropriate; like your washcloths. Not a thin cotton fabric. God bless you, one and all."

WARNING!

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  05/01/2008: Steve from Winnipeg, Canada writes: "Hi there, I was just reading through your page and got a lot of helpful information from all of the posts. I have scabies intensely on my wrists, and a very small out-break on my netherands. Now, I had gone to see my doctor abut the condition (knowing already what it was (that's right, this isn't the first time) he prescribed me the same medication as before; NIX Topical Cream. Now, this worked absolutely wonderful the first time I came across scabies. However, it was only today (four weeks after my first application of the NIX Topical Cream) and now after applying the same cream for the fourth time/bottle/30g each) my scabies still haven't gone away, and I find out that the scabies mite just might be immune to the treatments? Well, that pissed me off as you could probably guess, and $120.00 later (not including cleaning supplies and time). After reading the posts, I immediately went (stomped) to the washroom and ran my wrists under HOT water to open up my pores and then pulled out the hydrogen peroxide, and started rubbing it around on my wrists, WOW, I'm not sure if it felt soo good or soo painful!?!? Anyway, after I applied it, there appeared to be a lot of bubbling. I waited a minute or two and then washed it off. I then applied a Zinc Oxide Cream used for diaper rash and skin irritation. The burning from the peroxide soothed away, but as I'm typing to you now (5 minutes later after all of that) I appear to have a yellow transparent discharge in the area of the rash on my wrists. I'm sure it will be okay though. The reason I used Hydrogen Peroxide is because I use every time I get cold-sores (fever-blisters) on my lips. And I found it worked the quickest and without scarring. Instead of developing a big blister on my lip, if I applied the peroxide at the first sign of the cold-sore, the swelling went down almost without even a scab. I would apply it with simply a q-tip, about 3-4, 5 times daily, for one or two days, the discomfort of having a cold-sore goes away almost after the first day, and the feeling of relief feels sooo nice. I'll write again to tell you how well this works, side-effects, and how long it takes if it does. I still have a feeling that this might have been a bad idea; I don't care anymore at this point. I can't afford it or stand it anymore. Hey! The bright side is, I haven't cut off my hands yet *laughs* Thanks, Steve."

05/05/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Hi Steve- I have had your problem before & know how intense the itching can be. I don't know the topography where you are, but if you know what poke sallet (also known as pokeweed) is, the root of this plant is boiled in water, cooled enough to apply to the affected areas for scabies. At the times I had the problem I didn't know this, so have not tried it personally. I have eaten poke sallet and have taken poke berries for arthritis problems, so I can tell you that the plant is not likely to kill you. My next younger brother (now 72 years young) did tell me about his grown daughter came to him with the same problem of scabies, asking him what to do. Since I had told him about using the root for this purpose, he dug up a root, cleaned it, boiled it and gave her the water it was boiled in to lavishly apply it to the affected areas. He laughed as he told me about how it worked. She told him that "it set me on fire" but got rid of the scabies in one application."
[WARNING!]  07/18/2008: Nancy from Lakeland, Florida replies: "Do NOT try this treatment! I did and ended up with bad chemical burns on my arms from the hydrogen peroxide! I do not know at this point whether I will be permanently scarred by these burns as they are still very bad over a week after trying this approach."
07/18/2008: Nancy from Tarpon Springs, FL replies: "Reponse to Nancy: Hydrogen Peroxide is a TOPICAL (to be used on the skin) antiseptic. You can use a diluted solution of it to rinse your MOUTH. You shouldn't have gotten a chemical burn from it. Perhaps you are allergic or hypersensitive or perhaps it was something else."
[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS]  06/06/2011: Mary from Yonkers, Ny replies: "I was using the HP and get "burned" so stopped. Start using the ACV and "burn". start Borax, burn part of my face, neck and chest but I did not stop the borax treatment.

After 2 months I tried the h2o2 and the Apple Cider Vinegar again just to see what happen. Surprise, didnt burn anymore. For me the burn was the killing of some fungus. In a normal healthy skin I guess dont do that. I am free to use it again."

INDIGO'S SCABIES REMEDIES

YEA

[YEA]  09/05/2008: Indigo from Sacramento, California writes: "For the person being plagued by SCABIES - I had something like scabies (never did figure out exactly what, the doctor was useless on this). I can suggest a few things that worked for me. Get some green plastic garbage bags and white plastic garbage bags. The clothing that comes off of your body goes directly into the green garbage bag to be washed after one wearing, likewise your towel after one use. Store clean clothing out of the dryer in the white garbage bags until you put them on. Keep the bags sealed and separated. Wash your body and hair with Meat Tenderizer mixed in your water and shampoo (you can just mix in your hand before soaping up). Get the unseasoned meat tenderizer so you don't end up smelling like garlic. The papain in the meat tenderizer dissolves the exoskeleton of the bugs and they die. This also works for fleas for animals. Rinse thoroughly - it will leave your skin and hair nice and soft. You can get a large (almost 3 pound) dispenser of tenderizer online for around 20 bucks from Spice Place. Cheaper on the whole than small containers from the grocery store. Also change sheets and pillow cases every night. Wash clothes and linens in hot water and 1/2 cup bleach. Borax is also good - 1/2 cup for each load. Vacuum carpets and mattresses like crazy. Put your pillow through a hot dryer cycle. And this is very important - you need to change the internal terrain of your body, then parasites will not be attracted to you. Stop eating all forms of sugar and refined products, msg, artificial sweeteners and all junk food. Take a high potency multi and B vitamin complex. Drink hot water and lemon juice first thing every morning and a few more times during the day and before bed. Eat fresh food - lots of veggies. Coconut oil is also a great remedy for scabies. You can coat your skin before bed, even massage into your hair at night and shampoo in the morning. You'll be healthier in the long run and parasites will completely lose interest in you. Read the posts here on coconut oil - it seems like there are posts regarding scabies.

You can get rid of them. Best of luck."

[YEA]  01/29/2012: Njnit from Newark, Nj writes: "I am fully cured now! Here's an update on how I did it. I found that using sulfur daily decimated my skin. So, I mixed sulfur powder with vaseline and applied it from the neck down and then hung out, on a sheet, in front of the tv for an afternoon. I probably left the sulfur mix on for 4 hours or so.

I bought some diatemaceous earth which is a natural insecticide. I dusted my mattress, area rugs, couch, and my car with that.

I washed my linens daily and placed all of my dirty laundry in a plastic garbage bag to keep it seperate from everything else. I washed my clothing in hot water, adding borax to the wash.

I showered or bathed daily. I used Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Oil liquid soap. I kept a small container of a mix of borax and sulfur next to the shower. I mixed it with the liquid soap and used it as a scrub.

After showering I would use an oil mixture of clove, neem, orange, and tea tree. I used vitamin e oil as the carrier oil and found that it worked better than coconut oil because it is thicker and therefore coated my skin better.

I took a hot bath in salted water every other day instead of a shower. I noticed that the salt water bath did wonders for any bites I had. I used sea salt. The improvment over the course of a week was dramatic!

I have not had any new bites in over a month. I will continue with the oil treatments and the tea tree oil soap, but have stopped using sulfur and borax as a scrub.

It is such a relief that I am cured. However, my skin is scarred and ruined from their bites. This has been such an awful experience, but I wanted to let everyone suffering know that there is light at the end of the tunnel! You can beat this!

Good luck and keep at it."

The silica powder, DE, just cannot accomplish the job, yet I go back to it over and over. Bleach has dessicated my skin... so there's that right along with the burrowing itch! Torment, torment, driving me to the edge.

Shocking to read of bleach or clove oil working for some and yet not for me.

It breaks my heart to think of children itching that bad.... if adults are unable to stand it - nearly going mad, ohhhh the children.

I'd like to read up on its life cycle: if we walk here, there in the house would it be their eggs we pick up on shoes/feet? How long can an egg on floor survive? Does the adult fall from our bedding and stay alive without me, the host, for days, weeks?

The Lab People who have had to get so up-close to do the studying - didn't they get the heebeejeebies figuring there's no way they're not going to get infected? Brave souls..."
