Cure H. Pylori
Source: http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/hpylori/
"Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria. Researchers believe that H. pylori is responsible for the majority of peptic ulcers.
H. pylori infection is common in the United States. About 20 percent of people under 40 years old and half of those over 60 years have it. Most infected people, however, do not develop ulcers. Why H. pylori does not cause ulcers in every infected person is not known. Most likely, infection depends on characteristics of the infected person, the type of H. pylori, and other factors yet to be discovered.
Researchers are not certain how people contract H. pylori, but they think it may be through food or water.
Researchers have found H. pylori in the saliva of some infected people, so the bacteria may also spread through mouth-to-mouth contact such as kissing."

Pylori section here under ailments includes about every treatment I've seen, that's been used effectively against this parasite, which also robs us of vital nutrients, B12 being one of them. (low stomach acid often allows pathogens to invade, and low stomach acid makes it difficult to absorb nutrients. ) Sometimes weight loss in general, and muscle loss in particular may be a sign of B12 deficiency. A sublingual lozenge of methylcobalamin, at about 1000 mcg. or so is fairly easy for most people to absorb."

10/02/2011: Lucy from Brisbane, Australia writes: "Hi Teammon38, replying to your questions re: the I... H... it is a brand of Probiotics, VCO is Virgin Coconut Oil (Unrefined)and the ACV is the Apple Cider Vinegar.
And yes I do believe it will help your daughter I got the 3 x teaspoons of VCO a day from something I read on the internet written by a Natural Medical Practioner for treating Helicobacter Pylori, I think that if anything I would definitely use the VCO and the Probotics (good bacteria to fight the infection) every day without a doubt. If your daughter is very young I would start very small and build up the dosages and just use common sense after that. Even with myself I just played with the dosages daily and as I said I do believe it is the consistancy of taking them everyday no matter what the dosage is. And with the ACV also start very small but in hind sight I feel even if you do not use the ACV it will still work with the Probotics and the VCO. (these are the important ones).
I also tried Manuka Honey, high Vitamin C, Olive Leaf, silver and a lot of other vitamins and the only thing I got was out of pocket expenses.. One other thing I would suggest though is to pay attention to her diet make it as healthy as possible try and cut down on the sugar and too much dairy and drink water.
I really hope this helps and makes sense (my first posts) good luck."

10/22/2011: Audrey from St. Petersburg, Florida replies: "Hi, I cannot find the "recipe" or order in which to take this combination. Will someone please help me? This is my 3rd time to have this, and I ended up very sick from the antibiotics and never want to have that experience again. Thanks!"
11/01/2011: Abbie from Nashville, Tennessee replies: "My husband has had H. Pylori for at least 3 years. The doctors seem to give him a different combination of antibiotics everytime he goes and sees them. Just recently checked his blood work and still has the bacteria. How do you get rid of it!?"
11/01/2011: Debbie from Melbourne, Australia replies: "Abbie, I came across a very interesting article yesterday. It talks about antibiotics and its effects on the body. Everytime you take antibiotics unless you take probiotics and even garlic you are going to be left with a yeast/fungal candida problem. This will wreak havoc on your body.Dr. Orian Truss had HUGE success with treating people with an iodine protocol. Once he fixed the candida problems he was amazed at how many other problems vanished.
11/01/2011: Bess from Calgary, Alberta, Canada replies: "Hi Abbie - Probiotics are incredibly important for anyone suffering from H. Pylori but especially for someone, like your husband, who has been given many rounds of antibiotics. According to Dr. Mercola, the best time to take probiotics is first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, with 8 ounces of pure water one hour before breakfast. In a book I'm reading, Digestive Wellness, the author suggested: DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice) 760 mg, three times daily; mastic gum, 1 gram daily; aloe vera juice, taken after each meal; oil of oregano, 200 mg three times daily.
Also, I think someone else mentioned taking coconut oil for its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties. Good luck! Bess"

[YEA] 09/29/2011: Lucy from Brisbane, Qld, Australia writes: "I hope my post helps someone. I had Helicobacter Pylori for almost 2years, I am not sure how I picked up although I do suspect it may have been at the nursing home where I spent many days with my mother before she passed. Anyway after 3 failed rounds of antibiotics I resorted to antibiotics which they used to give H, Pylori patients back in the late 70's made up at a compound chemist, you take 17 antibiotics and acid lowering drugs per day. I made it through one day and had a bad reaction which resulted in a migraine for 1 week. After I recovered, I tried to accept there was nothing I could do and live with it (as one doctor told me), so I went home depressed and feeling sorry for myself.
Then I thought I don't have to accept this I wasn't born with it so I can get rid of it. Long story short I started taking Acidophilus "I.... H..... " sold here in Australia the dosage is 1 per day but I took 5 - 6 per day for the first week then alternated between 1 - 4 after that (Please note this is the dosage I took I am not suggesting that you take that many) its what you feel comfortable with. Then I took VCO, the dosage varied from 1 teaspoon 3 x times a day to sometimes just 1 or 2 tablespoons the trick is to be consistant and take it every day no matter what dosage. I also took ACV with the mother regulary at first then every other day. And I am happy to say I cured it I no longer have Helicobacter Pylori, I have been tested and it came back negative and you couldn't wipe the smile off my face. If you have had no luck with antibiotics don't give up- this way may take a little longer but it was worth it. PS. I still take Acidophilus every day (1per day) and the occaional VCO & ACV."
Replies09/30/2011: Teammom38 from King William, Va replies: "What is Acidophilus "I.... H..... "? Where can I find it?What is VCO & ACV? Apple Cider Vinegar and what else? What were your exact dosages, if you remember? Do you think that would work for my daughter? At this point I am willing to try almost anything to make my daughter feel better. She has been taking the silver for almost 2 weeks and says she still hurts. We stopped the vitamin c tabs, they seemed to make it worse. Has anyone heard of manuka honey?"
10/15/2011: Jagmara from Glendale, California replies: "This message is to Yea, I was just diagnosed with H. Pylori, and after 2 rounds of anitibiotics, I developed allergies to them and stopped taking it, I went and bought what you said the VCO and I also bought Manuka honey, and probiotic supplements, can you give me some more information on how you took it and what you ate as your meals, I'm afraid to eat anything now and don't know what to aviod except the obvious, sugar and dairy, PLEASE I'm desperate, I've had this for about 3 years and just got diagnosed after all this time, please help, thanks. P. S. Feel free to email me :0)"
12/04/2011: Katie from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "For twelve weeks transient fever, nausea, pressure, heat and tenderness in my abdomen and chills. I put on five days of Cipro then later prescribed Erthomycin for ten days. Then one day I had uncontrollable chills pressure in my abdomen my weight had fallen to 105 The dr really concerned he ran all the tests CAT Ultrasound for every organ, uterus, appendix, liver, kidney uterus colon all fine. As well as my bloodwork was perfect. So he suggested a food diary and liquid fast. And going to GI specialist. First I did the a self test which is 1 tablesoon each of Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey in 1/4 water if your stomach calms down they you have low stomach acid and need to take Hydrochloric Acid with meals. So I believe I have H. Pylori and will need to be verified by GI specialist currently I'm getting relief from acidophilus pills, plain yogurt, I'm taking 1 tablespoon of Organic virgin coconut oil four times a day. I'm also drinking coconut milk and coconut water they have both been helpful in calming my stomach."
12/12/2011: Angela from Jacksonville, Elkins, Damoh, Fl, Wv Usa And M.p. I replies: "How long before you were cured? Am treating my daughter with kefir (raw milk), raw eggs, tumeric, grapefruit seed extract, VCO, Lugol's, chicken broth (homemade), DGL, zinc and our usual supplements of E, K, C, liver, fermented cod liver oil, magnesium, D, and B12. She has active Eptein Barr at the same time, so a double whammy. Chest pains led us down a path of investigating heart issues for a few months. Finally at my prompting a stool test for parasites revealed H Pylori... The cause of chest pains and constant headaches. I've only been treating for a week. Mood seems to have improved as well as lessening of burning sensation. Nothing concrete yet. That's why I'm wondering how long it might be before she's rid of the bug (or, it's brought into balance.)"
01/10/2012: Ppat from New York, Ny, Usa replies: "Hi, Your story is inspirational. I was recently diagnosed with H Pylori and didn't want to try triple therapy rightaway. I wanted to try natural remedies first and that's how I came across this post. I am going to start eating VCO everyday. I have started drinking Kefir which contains L. Acidophilus and other good bacteria. I have also ordered Manuka Honey. I am going to start eating that as well. How long did you take all of these for? I have read that it takes a bit long somewhere between 3-4 months. Is that right? Did you get tested after 3-4 months or before?Any help is appreciated!"

[YEA] 01/02/2010: Linda from Cocoa, Florida writes: "H pylori - I suffered with this for twenty plus years. My weight was under 100 pounds and I could not keep a meal down. In the beginning no one knew what it was...then in 1983 my doctor did put me on an antibiotic and bismuth tablet three times a day for 30 days, after doing an endoscopy. It worked and I have never had it return. All tests have confirm that it has never returned."
Replies11/02/2010: Tommy from North York, On, Canada replies: "Hi Linda,
Could you please give me your email or just give me the name of your doctor so I can reach him? Because I think that 1 week treatment is not enough to get rid of the bacteria. Thanks a lot."
01/14/2011: Diane from Cleveland, Oh replies: "Linda:Please let me know what antibiotic you took for 30 days and how often you took it to rid yourself of H pylori. I was on an antibiotic but had a reaction and had to be taken off of it.
Thanks for the information.......Diane"
04/20/2011: Amanda from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire Uk replies: "Hi LindaCould you please tell me which antibiotic you were given. I have had pylori in the past and it is recurrent. I suffer from chronic asthma and when the pylori returns, which it has at the moment, I feel so ill and just feel I don't want to live any more and am trying to eradicate this awful bacteria for good. Does anybody know if you can get the stool antigen test done by your own doctor as I have asked my GP and they will only carry out the UREA breath test, but only through a consultant, which then takes weeks to organise and I can't wait that long as I am so desperate. The pylori was better for a time and I felt better, not 100%, but better than I had been, then it returned. HELP!!!
Regards, Amanda"
06/03/2011: Erin from Lincolnton, Nc replies: "Hi Amanda,I'm sorry to hear about your condition. Unfortunately, I have been told that the breath test is the only accurate test for H. Pylori. The other tests are only a waste of time and money. I've had some weird symptoms in the last year and have felt awful so I am thinking about going for a test myself. My dad swears up and down that I have H. Pylori but we will see. I hope you feel better soon. Try to hang in there. You are not alone! Erin"
07/01/2011: Bill from Hartford, Ct, Usa replies: "Hi Linda,Please tell me what antibotic did you take for 30 days?? how much peptol per/day? I had reactions to the heavy barrage of multipal antibiotics. Need to try a new regiment.
-Bill"
07/05/2011: Sarah Usa-italy from Pozzuoli, Naples, Usa-italy replies: "Hi, I discovered I have H Pylori about 21 days ago from meeting a friend's friend at dinner, with whom we both identified with each other's stomach ailments--she told me she had H. Pylori and suggested I get tested for it. The doctor ordered a stool sample test--yes, it was very embarrassing, but a few weeks later it came back positive for HP. I was on 14 days of: 4 Amoxycillin/day; 2 Biaxin/day; and 2 Nexiums/day (I'm still taking 2 Nexiums/day) even though I've been off the antibiotics now for about 7 days.My symptoms have been persistent bloating, fullness (even first thing in the AM when I get out of bed), Nausea--before I did antibiotics I was having some pretty severe stomach pains. Also, I'd get a burning sensation/tightness in my upper abdomen (above belly button under breastbone), besides feeling so much discomfort.
It's been 21 days, and although I have good days, I will get extremely bloated and nausea. I've read a lot about Peptol Bismol, so picked up some tablets. I don't take them consistenly daily, but am willing to try anything to speed the cure. I don't want to OD on them, but I may take 3 in a day, but not sure how much of the chewable tablet reaches deep within my stomach.
I've read that it's not easy to cure--before my doctor left back to the states, she put an order in for a retest in about a month after the antibiotics.
I hope and pray I'm cured of this parasite, because it's made my life so uncomfortable. I've read that Bismuth can kill the virus, so the fact that I took 14-days of antiobiotics, I'm hoping this is true, and I should probably double up on teh Peptol Bismol.
Gosh, I wonder HOW in the WORLD I came down with this parasite! I have lived overseas (2 years in Japan, and now in Italy for about 2-3 years).
Does anybody know if this HP also causes halitosis (or halatosis?). Also, I'm wondering if my husband should get tested because his breath stinks, but he doesn't have stomach issues like me, but I've read this is contagious.
Your thoughts, input and advice, and help are greatly appreciated!"
07/06/2011: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Oh Sarah, a big yes, it can cause very bad halitosis. Check the h. Pylori ailments page here on EC as there are some remedies that people have had success with. My husband had success with colloidal silver. Also have a look at turmeric. If you take a couple of remedies as well as your currant treatment you may have much better results in the long run. All the best."
07/09/2011: Matt from San Diego, Ca, Usa replies: "Within the last 2 years I have had H. Pylori my doctor for a year told me I had acid reflux and was on omeprazole which for a little bit I thought it was helping me and later found out it became worse. I changed doctors and ended up getting an endoscopy which proved my problem. April 2011 my doctor put me on omeprazole amoxicillin clarithromycin for 2 weeks and the symptoms went away. I did a stool sample after my 2 week treatment and didn't hear anything back, meaning I was fine right ? A week ago I started feeling the same problems as before, stomach pain, fatigue ect. I need to schedule another appointment and go back but I don't want to take meds if it doesn't help me. I read some natural remedies people have posted but not sure which ones are effective.. Any answers ?
Warm lemon water in the AM
2 oz's of aloe vera juice throughout day
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar before bedMastic Gum
3 1/2 ounces of broccoli sprouts a day for at
least 8 weeks to kill off the H. Pyloriepazote tea 1 fourth cup of a day for 3 days and make sure you do it a second time
Manuka Honey UMF 10 or highersuper neti juice
What has been proven effective ?
email sdguy2202@yahoo.com Thanks!"
07/26/2011: Andrew from Aberdeen, Uk replies: "Hey Amanda, Try Metametrix an American company for stool sample. U can order their Gastric Microbiology 2105 test for £145 through nutrition geeks in the uk and they will send the results to your gp. Tests are dna based and therfore supposed to be very sensitive and accurate. it takes around 3weeks all in."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 03/04/2008: Donna from Jamaica, NY writes: "I was recently diagnosed with gastritis with the H. Pylori bacteria. The gas is dreadful, as you may already know. GI put me on the dreaded triple threat of Plyera and Protonix. I have not taken drugs in quite some time but was so desperate for relief i tried it. I have since stopped taking the pump inhibitor. My question is that I have tried the ACV and it seems to work quite well. But i realized that I have to take 4 to 5 teaspoons several times a day for true relief. Is this too much? And how long should it take for permanent relief, if you know? I'm dying here. Thanks, any response would be appreciated."
Replies02/12/2009: Cristina from Makati, Metro Manila replies: "may i ask if there has been an answer to the question on how long will taking 4-5 tbsp of acv take before it cures the h-pylori permanently? thanks"
[NAY] 04/28/2010: Ahmed from Dubai, Uae replies: "am sorry but what u r doing is totally wrong, am having H.pylori for a year now, last year when i started to have heart burn thought its acid reflux so used apple cider, not after a year went again for endoscopy and guess what severe gastritis, because the apple cider produce more stomach acid which will harm ur stomach, so stop it otherwise when u do ur next endoscopy u'll regret what ur doing, try other methods if u want, i didnt try anything else will go for antibiotics all my friends who did it are recovered except me"
04/28/2010: Simon from London, England replies: "Hi, i was hospitalised with inflamation of the gullet which had started to bleed (probably alcohol related). Anyway, when i got out i started to look around for natural ways to reduce inflamation and stumbled on virgin coconut oil. It not only helps the inflamation but apparently kills the H.pylori bacteria. It also has a multitude of other uses. It may be worth checking out. Hope this helps."
11/23/2010: Lauralight from Portland, Or replies: "She's describing low stomach acid production, not high, you're describing that wrong too. SHe has achlorhydia and need betain HCL instead of apple cidar vinegar for her GERD, or she will keep losing weight and get multiple mineral and vitamin deficeincies from malabsorption syndrome."
05/28/2011: Jeff from Tulsa, Ok Usa replies: "Im sorry for ahmed from dubai but iv'e been taking raw apple cider vinegar as well as probiotic multi enzymes (Spring valley from Wal-mart) I used to live on tums and rolaids but not anymore. Not only has it cured my heartburn but my arthritus is gone. Ive been doing this for 3 years. Listen if you dont believe me do some research. Natural cures are the best they just take a little longer and sometimes you have to ingest more than just one type, my wife just found out she has h pylori and is doing the same with great results. This is what I do.. 2 tblsp of ACV w/ 8 oz's of water first thing in the AM and again right before bed, enzymes - 2 pills 3 or 4 times a day or as needed along with vitamins, minerals trace minerals."
[NAY] 06/21/2011: Jed from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "ACV is in no way recommended for advanced cases of H. Pylori, at least for those of us with peptic ulcers. Using ACV, regardless of dilution, only enflames the symptoms further and is actually quite painful to swallow. The only relief I've found so far, even after trying acupuncture, ACV, various probiotics, and of course dietary changes, has been from Entocort/Budesonide and Nexium/Omeprazole."
[NAY] 11/03/2011: Autumn from San Antonio, Tx replies: "H. Pylori releases urease as a byproduct. Urease cuts the mucous in your stomach. This allows your stomach acid and the bacteria itself to burrow into your tissue. Vinegar is an astringent. It wastes mucous. ACV will only exacerbate symptoms of h. pylori, and may even make it worse."
11/29/2011: Milia from Madrid, Spain replies: "You need to understand one thing: We all have stomach acid, it is the one thing that kills the bacteria in the stomach, every one of them apart from HP which emanates an alcaline cloud to protect itself, and burrows down into the stomach lining. The only way to kill it off is to have enough stomach acid, which also helps during digestion and to absorb vitamins from food.
If you have a bleeding ulcer, then of course this has to be dealt with first, and if you are taking a lot of antibiotics, the doc will always prescribe something to protect the stomach from the pills, but at the same time, if the HP is not killed off by the antibiotics, the antiacid will make their life and survival so much easier for those that survived the antibiotics.
Bismuth is a better choice, proton pump inhibitor is a thing that _stops_ the natural creation of stomach acid in your stomach, (Omeprazole) and I find that very drastic. But at any rate they should only be taken as a help towards the onslaught of antibiotics.
In order to get _more_ stomach acid, (if you don´t have a bleeding ulcer... ) it is a good thing to take a glass of water with 1 pressed lemon and a soupspoon full of virgin olive oil every morning before anything else. It will help you in the long run. (I haven´t had an HP attack for years..)
Also you have to kill off the HP that gets up into your mouth (often via reflux) and starts living under the gums of your teeth.
I recommend any mouthwash containing hexidine chloride.
HP can travel anywhere, even up your nose or down to your bronchial tubes. It might also provoke vesicular stones.
Eat healthy and make your body a difficult place for it to habitate in."

Recently I had some lab work done and discovered that I have h.pylori. The doctor immediately prescribed me antibiotics. I have never been a pill popper,so I investigated other natural remedies thanks to my chemistry professor. He suggested ACV 2tbsp. before bed, 2 ozs. of aloe vera juice throughout the day & fresh warm lemon water in the am. After 1 day I saw the change in my bowel movements and my over all well being. I have noticed that I have shed 3lbs, but i know that was most of the toxins and impurities. I feel alot better overall. This is an amazing informative website."
Replies[YEA] 08/08/2009: John from Denver, Co replies: "This remedy worked well! I have been using it for 2 weeks and continue to feel the improvements in overall digestive health. Most days, it has completely stopped my gas problem, bloating is gone, and bowel movements are frequent and healthy. I was a practicing alcoholic who had not gone more than a week without drinking for 3 years, so my digestive system was under a lot of stress, and this rebalancing remedy helped me along tremendously during my path to recovery. I drink up to 4 oz of Aloe Vera Juice, and just pay attention to bowel movements as a que to the right consumption levels. My diet is high in lean protein, fiber, greens, and essential fatty acids to combat inflamation. People say I look ten years younger since I started, and I am only 27."

[YEA] 07/16/2008: Adil from New York, USA writes: "I've been diagnosed with H.Pylori a while ago and refused to see the doctor after one round of unhelpful antibiotics. My stomach would sometimes bleed a little. I could detect it from my saliva and stools. But it wasn't a big deal. Last week, I was trying to finish my dissertation and was really stressed. My stomach started bleeding constantly so I figured it probably turned into an ulcer, though I don't know the exact diagnosis. I started using ACV+baking soda (which had cured my acid reflux and stomach problems previously for 8 months but had then stopped working) along with Cayenne Pepper. I mix all of them in a bit of water and take it on an empty stomach. Within a day or two my bleeding stopped and I generally feel an increased sense of well-being. Thank you EC, and thank God for natural remedies."

12/04/2009: Joe from Columbia, Md, Usa writes: "I have been having heartburn and abdominal pain almost every day for the past 6 years. I have tried Prilosec/tums/mylanta etc but they provide only temporary relief. I have mostly stopped all that especially prilosec. I have been reading the posts from this site. And I decided to take matters into my hands with some decent success.
1) Water : I started drinking around 8 glasses of water per day. A couple of days later, I can observe a significant improvement. Except for frequenting the bathroom, this is a must for everyone who is concerned about digestive health.
2) ACV: I take a tablespoon of Organic ACV with the mother before going to bed. This mostly took care of all my sleep issues.
Besides the above, I have cut my coffee and limited spicy food intake and added yoghurt to my lunch which also helps.
Now I am not saying my ulcer/h.pylori has been cured. But the associated symptoms/pain have been vastly reduced just from the above two solutions alone."
10/26/2010: John from Atlanta, Georgia replies: "Joe Did this cure H. Pylori? I am currently doing this now and want to make sure this is the right thing to do. Please email me at http://mr.hospitable@gmail.com if anyone has any proven methods."
11/03/2010: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Hi, My husband had this many years ago. The antibiotic treatment did not work. What did was homemade (strong) colloidal silver. I'm sorry but I do not remember quantities and as it was homemade I have no strength measurement either. He did have to take it for quite a while though."
11/04/2010: Tommy from North York, On, Canada replies: "Hi Maria,
Thanks a lot for the tip. Do you know how much your husband take? 1 oz or more? Thank you very much."
11/04/2010: Maria from Gippsland, Australia replies: "Hi Tommy, My husband made our machine and the silver rods are long enough to fit into a tall jam jar. We would make it using filtered water & it would take up to 20 mins to get the mix cloudy. You give the rods a stir or it sinks. He was taking 2-3 glasses a day. He did this for about 6 weeks, then 1-2 glasses a day for the next 2 - 3 months. We have no idea what strength it was. We learnt how to make the colloidal silver from a very healthy couple in their late 80's who had been drinking 1 glass most mornings for some years. While eating it, she felt the pain just gone almost instantly! After eating the broccoli for the rest of the day, she was cured within that day itself!!!! Our entire family have been eating more broccoli since then to kill all bacteria in the stomach and body. Now even scientists say broccoli can cure cancer, not just prevent it. So guys, please eat more broccoli.

BROCCOLI SPROUTS FOR H. PYLORI

A study was done at Johns Hopkins saying it even eradicated H. pylori that was antibiotic resistant? I have been putting it in the blender with fresh carrot juice, fresh cabbage and drinking it twice a day..I am also taking NAC twice a day..Anybody else tried this?"

12/11/2007: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "To the person inquiring re broccoli sprouts for H pylori (which supposedly causes peptic ulcer disease) - broccoli makes for healthy eating, no doubt, but I stumbled on the cure for all my stomach problems (constant heartburn, indigestion, nausea, and outright pain from ulcers several times a year before they got around to discovering H pylori as the cause. They were still calling peptic ulcer disease psychosomatic at that time (l968). I remember the lecture on PUD being psychomatic when I was working on my RN later. One of my instructors asking what I thought about the lecture as I was leaving the room. Being polite, I replied that it was obvious that our instructor who gave this lecture had fallen off the fence on the psychosomatic side. She then asked me if I agreed, to which I replied that I didn't and she asked me why. My reply was that my entire family had PUD problems and I thought that it was more likely an allergy or food intolerance. When she asked for my rationale, I asked her if she knew what test they did to see if you were secreting hydrochloric acid. She said she didn't. I then then explained my rationale by saying "OK, we both agree that the basic problem in PUD is an excess of hydrochloric acid in the stomach which eats a hole in its own lining. OK, when the doctor wants to see if your stomach is secreting hydrochloric acid (lack of it is diagnostic of pernicious anemia), he puts you in a hospital bed, starts an IV, hangs a histamine drip which makes your stomach kick out hydrochloric acid, if your body can produce it. Your body throws out histamine causing an allergic reaction when you come into contact with something you are allergic to. It seemss rational to me that if you constantly come into contact with something that causes your body to kick out histamine, your body is going to respond by kicking out excess hydrchloric acid which causes PUD! Do you still think it's psychosomatic? Her reply, "Hmmm, I'll have to tell Dick about that". Dick, her husband, was an intern at Vanderbilt. My cure was eliminating all bleached flour from my food. I later researched PUD for a final paper at Vanderbilt and discovered that PUD arose several years after they started bleaching flour. "
01/21/2012: Jchilliwack from Abottsford, Bc, Canada replies: "The only time I had trouble with my stomach is when I eat bread.. Any kind & sugar (any kind).. Burns like crazy & gas is awful. I can eat honey though no problem... Even maple syrup. I'm starting to think GMO's also set things off. I agree bleached anything causes extreme response....For the person with pos blood test for H. Pylorri.... It tests antibodies.. Once you've had it the antibodies will always show up.... Even if you no longer have the infection... you need the breath test."

A few years ago, I heard of using it as a remedy for so many things, but when I tried it, my face broke out, so I stopped using it. I quit smoking (YAY!) almost 4 months ago, and not only gained weight but was told by a doctor that my distended belly was the result of h.pylori bacteria. I can't believe I aquiessed, but took the prescription for double dose antibiotics I was given. I have rarely taken any antibiotics, and don't like them at all. They caused a Candida imbalance, and a return of intestinal parasites. Then I came across a jar of organic VCO in my fridge, and figured it was worth a try. Amazing results; my energy level rose immediately, my belly started disappearing after a week, and I seem to crave "good" food, while being relatively uninterested in unhealthy food. An unexpected benefit was how clear my sinuses became; even 2 months after stopping smoking, my head and ears were stopped up. I am now experiencing some minor break out on my face, but am beginning to suspect this is a cleansing reaction from candida die-off, parasite die off and tobacco cessation. I think it is important that the VCO be ORGANIC. Thanks for the site!"

COLLOIDAL SILVER

[YEA] 06/23/2011: Steve from Niwot, Co, Usa writes: "I actually spent 12 years in the laboratory researching the uses of colloidal silver. One of the more difficult projects was the effect on H. Pylori since it is an anaerobe (doesn't like oxygen) so we had to culture in a CO2 environment. However... We were testing a product called Super Neti Juice (which is a powerful colloidal silver) and found that it worked very well on H. Pylori even down to a stomach pH of about 3.0.
The trick is to take about 1 ounce on and empty stomach three times per day for about a week. If you take it with anything else... It will bond with that and not work. If you add sugar... It will not work. If you take it once a day it will not work. But when we tested just this simple product by itself, on an empty stomach, three times per day, it dropped the H. Pylori titer down to un-measurable. Even months later.
Hope this helps you. I have since used it on a few friends with ulcers and it has dumb-founded hte folks at the hospital because when they use the endoscope and see the ulcer and then the titer comes back for negative H. Pylori, they just shake their heads. Then... of course, the ulcers heal very quickly and everyone is happy."

[YEA] 11/21/2008: Max from Los Angeles, CA writes: "Hi Guys,
I have gotten relief from d-mannose, particularly for the cramping. For me, the cramping stops immediately. And Omega 3 Fatty Acids seem to be very beneficial in a general sense.
Here's something I just found on-line and decided to come back here to let everyone know in case you're interested.
From cancertutor.com, a very reliable website:
Ellagic acid is anti-bacterial, [it] destroys the H. pylori bacteria responsible for stomach ulcers. Ellagic acid is a naturally occurring polyphenolic constituent found in 46 different fruits and nuts, like grapes, pomegranate, red raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and walnuts.
This non-profit site: http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer/EllagicAcid.html discusses ellagic acid and has links to other sites that discuss it. Linked vendors are identified as such, but tend to be reputable.
I'm going to try it and get back.

[YEA] 06/06/2011: Miles from Janesville, Wisconsin writes: "ive been battleing pylori for along time and ive been ill for many years. I have ulcers for many years and I couldnt even function, but now im rebuilding my stomach. First you need to get rid of the pylori and parasites, yes parasites.
Im married to a latin fellow, and ive been sick most of our marriage. I tried one herb to take out the parasites first. The name is epazote, tribal people from the rainforest and people in mexico use it to take out parasites, of every kind. Ive never felt better, once I took the plant which is sold in any mexican grocery strore, I made a tea, but only drink 1 quarter cup in the morning on an empty stomach for 3 days and on the fourth day they will die and exit in your feces, do again in 2 weeks to get any eggs that are left, you must do it a second time.
Then I took probiotics to put the good bacteria back and changed my diet, I also drink apple cider vinager in a glass of water before bed, I was amazed all acne is gone and my skin is soft as a babys bottem, now its time to heal it, im about to drink the cabbage juice, what I have is sort of a leaky gut syndrome, that is caused by to much over the counter pain aids and it wore the stomach lining down and thats when the stomach lining was damaged, then that gives the parasites and pylori the greenlight to take over, I was to the point where the toxins went into my blood stream and caused alot of pain and sickness, do not exceed 1 fourth cup of epazote tea a day for 3 days and make sure you do it a second time. This is the only way to really rid yourself of this nasty sickness, I also eat enzymes with every meal. goodluck my life made a total turn around."

God bless."
Replies05/11/2009: Tony from New York, NY replies: "Hi Cristina, in your case, the most important thing to do FIRST is to treat that duodenitis ulcer. In this case, I would advise you to take Manuka Honey, this is good for healing the ulcer and also helps to kill the h pylori in the stomach. You can type in Manuka Honey in the search engine and you will see where you can buy a jar. On the label or website, it explains how you should take the honey. The ones from New Zealand are real good.
Their are many ways to treat your problem, but the solution that comes to mind is the one I described for you above. Good Luck."

Garlic is an anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungus remedy. Natures own antibiotic! After I chew and crush and eat the garlic, I swallow it and leave it there for atleast 2 hours to work. After the 2 hours, I usually wash down some spring water. Garlic is a blood thinner, so be careful if you are taking a blood thinning drug. Talk to your doctor first if you are taking a blood thinner and plan on taking this regimen. Good luck folks!"

GET TESTED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE INDEED CURED

[YEA] 01/04/2008: JH from Trying to Feel Better, USA writes: "Hi- A multitude of stomach issue has recently sent me in search of info on H. Pylori.
Now, I have always preferred to handle all health issues homeopathically, and am familiar with most of the remedies listed here on your pages.
One thing that concerned me deeply is this - I recognized a large number of these treatments to be great for addressing the actual digestive symptoms said to be caused by HP. HOWEVER - Did any of these actually CURE HP? Did anyone do a urea breath test after the treatment to make sure it tested negative for H. Pylori? Or are all of these folks assuming that since thier symptoms are gone, the bacteria has been killed?
If the latter is the case, then folks, you will most likely suffer these same symptoms again in the future, because the bacteria is not actually dead. either the bacteria's activity has just been suppressed, or your SYMPTOMS have been suppressed.
Since all of this H. Pylori business is relatively new, (2005 Nobel Prize) there's a lot of room for new findings, and for false claims.
Example- there is an article out there stating that the comsupmtion of broccolli and broccolli sprouts will cure HP. But the people conducting the study sell broccolli sprouts! It would be great if the study is true, but folks- use your head!
I understand wanting to find natural ways to rid yourself of this, which is how I ended up here.
But - Use common sense. Make sure you test NEGATIVE before assuming that you've been cured.
Good luck!"
01/10/2009: Rich from Boca Raton, Fl replies: "Effects of high dose vitamin C treatment on Helicobacter pylori infection and total vitamin C concentration in gastric juice
http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1690250
It would appear that Mega-C (5 grams Vitamin C for 4 weeks), has a 30% cure rate for H Pylori. My suggestion is to use a buffered form of C, so as not to upset your ph balance. Sodium Ascorbate is my preferred form. You can easily mix 5 grams of Sodium Ascorbate with a glass of milk, without upsetting your stomach. And/or 2 grams with Orange Juice. You can't taste this stuff.
Certainly getting tested is a good idea, as this is a very serious condition."
11/11/2009: Jabbar from Manchester, Uk replies: "Hi,
I just wanted to say, I fully agree with your comments. The testing afterwards is so vital to confirm or negate the continued presence of h.pylori. cheers."
12/09/2009: Jdallaris from Hamilton, Nj replies: "From reading newsletters from alternative doctors it is my understanding that h-pylori bacteria are always present in our digestive tract, but when the numbers get too high they cause gastritis. In our family foreign travel seems to trigger it. Excess stomach acid is not the culprit but rather too little stomach acid. Taking anything that relaxes the muscle that guards the stomach can aggravate this condition. NSAIDS (ibuprofen and co.) also make it worse. I also took an acidic remedy like ACV and routinely take Vitamin D3 7,000-9,000 units. This has a natural antibiotic, cathelicidin. Since it is an antibiotic take extra probiotics to prevent yeast infection. Above all get tested for food sensitivities. I discovered I was a celiac at 64. I also take D-mannose for infections a few times a year. Find a good alternative doctor by checking ACAM and follow his advice."

GOOD NUTRITION

Whilst I understand that this is the standed regime in the conventional medical community it does not follow that is the only regime that works. There are many people who have treated themselves succcessfully with the use of natural products that do not have the side effects of standed medicine. The medical proffession does not have all the answers and are often lead by drug companies that are in it for the money. My own experience with conventional is that if they can not identiy your symptoms then you are on your own."

He actually had a Near Death Experience (NDE) during this episode. The MD's post is certainly gracious in light of the history of said conditions."
