Pickle Juice for Acid Reflux

Home Remedy Ingredients

  • Pickle Juice (straight from the jar!)
  • A glass

Stop a bad attack of acid reflux by drinking up to half a cup of pickle juice.

[YEA]  03/11/2006: Nicole from North Lake, WI: "I'can't believe it. I've been suffering for years from Acid Reflux and ulcers. I've been on Protonix for months and it hasn't been working lately. I found this site and tried the Apple Cider Vinegar and it didn't work. It made me worse but I think I took too much or something. I had a few slices of dill pickles last night (yum-I forgot how much I missed them) sure enough- it was gone just like that. It's 24 hours later and the choking burning feeling started coming back (while on the Protonix) and I just raided the fridge for some Milwaukee Midget Dills and sure enough it's going away again. I'm just amazed! I'm really hoping to be in well enough shape to have some margaritas in Mexico next month. Thank you so much to the creators of this site and the others out there providing feedback."

[YEA]  01/11/2006: Joey from CA: "I tried Prilosec Pepcid ac .. but Dill pickles seemed to help my acid reflux feel better ..I haven't tried the apple cider vinegar yet but I will get back to you on that experiment... Pickles who would of ever thought:)"

[YEA]  11/21/2005: Heidi from Gakona, Alaska: "I have to admit I was very skeptical when I first started reading all of these comments. I was in the middle of going crazy with a bad case of acid reflux which I have suffered from since I was a teenager. I am now 33 and have still not found anything that works as fast as the pickle juice did. In the middle of reading through this site I got up and looked for some apple cider vinegar....didnt have any, so I went for the dill pickle juice. It has only been about 15 minutes and I am already experiencing relief. This is amazing to me and I will be picking up some ACV tomorrow to give that a try. I am so excited about this. I cant believe what I have been paying for my Prevacid when I could have been using a natural cure the whole time. Thank you to whoever runs this site. I am eternally grateful."

[YEA]  11/12/2005: Linda from Atlanta, GA: "i was in so much pain with acid reflux, tried the pickle juice and it worked quick...i was able to lay down and not have the burning in my throat. Also, my throat had been sore for weeks, after drinking some pickle juice it felt much better... thank God for this website.. I do not want to be dependant on pills with side effects..."

[YEA]  09/03/2005: David from Roanoke, Virginia: "What I am about to tell you is almost incredible. Too simple and too illogical. Too simple making it easily overlooked. Illogical, I guess, in the same way that fighting fire with fire makes sense. I have had Acid Reflux for over 30 years. Rolaids had been my main source of relief. I just found out that drinking approx. 2 oz. of Claussen Dill Pickle juice at bedtime actually prevents my heartburn from occurring. The juice is mostly vinegar with a little garlic added which gives it a very good taste. Other pickle juice or vinegars may also work well too. I know that vinegar is an acid, but it apparently balances the chemistry of the stomach in some way. If you like the taste of pickles you have to try it. Also, I am told that will stop muscle cramps almost immediately upon swallowed. I am now stocking up on Claussens Pickles instead of Rolaids!!"

[YEA]  11/04/2009: Raffy from Makati City, Philippines replies: "My prayer has been answered. It works wonders just taking the Dill pickle juice as well eating the pickle. God is good!!"

[YEA]  Joe from Minneapolis, MN: "I'was taking all kinds of acid reducers and a friend said that pickle juice had helped him. I looked online and saw the acv and tried that too. They both seem to work for me along with just a couple of pickles a day."

[YEA]  D Wager : "I cannot stand vinegar but I will eat pickles (made with vinegar) and that has worked."

[YEA]  Dennis from Georgia: "Pickle lovers can try a little pickle juice. It works!"

[YEA]  Chris from Trenton, OH: "I have tried everything under the sun for my acid reflux nothing was working, so i got online and tried to find natural ways to help with acid reflux and i found this site, i tried the pickle juice and it worked, thanks so much!!!"

[YEA]  Diane from Charlottesville, VA: "I've found just eating 3-4 slices of pickles will knock it out immediately! My doctor recommended I take Pepcid but I didn't want to take "medicine" if there was a natural cure. I'd heard about pickles/vinegar being effective so I tried it... and it WORKS!"

04/16/2012: Ric from Gold Coast, Qld Australia replies: "Like a couple of previous posters, my GERD manifests itself as a sore throat if I talk a lot and also chest pain. I've done the emergency trip to the hospital, thinking I was having a heart attack, to be told after an ECG that my heart seemed perfectly healthy. My chest pain also occurs during the day after eating when I exercise. Unfortunately, as I'm a PE teacher, this is frequent and I've just sort of learned to live with it. I've identified the main foods that trigger it and bread is a major culprit here.

I love pickles but stopped eating them a few years ago (pre GERD) because I was told that the pickle juice was bad for me. So now I have an excuse to go back to something I love eating and possibly get relief for this debilitating condition. I'll tell you if it works."

Pickled Okra

09/30/2011: Larry from Newnan, Ga: "I have suffered from ocasional acid reflux for years but have never been treated by a physician for this illness. I love all kinds of pickles and sometime about a year ago I just happened to start eating a pickled okra just before bedtime and have noticed that since that time I have never once had acid reflux bother me. Just today I found this website and was happy to find out why the pickled okra seems to work. Thanks. Larry"

[YEA]  05/25/2006: Sherri from OK: "My husband has suffered from acid reflux for years, and has tried just about every treatment from prescription meds to ACV. He has gotten temporary relief from ACV, and several others, but the thing that seems to help him the most is PINE NEEDLES! A friend told him about knowing an old timer who had used the remedy with excellent results, so, living in an area with abundant pine trees, he gave it a try. He pulled off a cluster of needles, and just chewed on the ends of them enough to release the "juice". It sounds crazy, but it has helped him tremendously. Don't know if I would try it if I were allergic to pine trees, though!"

[YEA]  03/13/2007: Amy from Sevierville, TN: "Hello Everyone, I just had to post this ASAP!! If you have tummy troubles this is a must read for you. My husband has acid reflux, and suffers terribly, and our daughter has been through many "treatments" for H Pylori. (H pylori causes stomach ulcers) The other day I bought some pine nuts to go in our salad, and low and behold, my husband about 15 minutes after eating dinner, says " my stomach doesn't hurt." Sure enough even Audrey said "my tummy feels better". I began researching pine nuts, and found that they have been popular for many ailments, including H pylori, and acid reflux. It has been a few days now, and Kevin eats about a 1/4 a cup a day, and Audrey eats more, about 1/2 a cup a day. Her stomach hasn't bothered her in days, and Kevin is doing great. We have supported the anti acid industry for years now, and I am so glad to stop! The pine nuts can be found everywhere, even Wal-Mart. This is just a miracle. I hope this helps everyone as much as it has us. Amy, Sevierville, TN"

Potato Juice

07/04/2009: Terezia from Dallas, Tx: "Remedy for Acid Reflux and Constipation is the raw potato juice. I juice 2 potatoes and one lemon in the morning and drink it at once. It instantly diminishes acids and hunger also. I suffered from acid reflux for a long time, nothing worked permanently. Potato juice did, and now I take it for it's great inner cleansing and healing properties.

Potato juice is also a great refresher of tired skin.

For a toxin-purging, sugar free tea, I simply blend a big piece of raw ginger in a bit of water, pour it into a big pitcher of hot water with lemon juice. It tastes like ginger tea, but it works like a miracle infusion. It instantly energizes and purges the body.

When I have stiffness in my bowels before going to bed, I do a iodine enema. I use two ___ bottles, one with a squirt of iodine in it, the other with a squirt of coconut oil with some essential oils. The coconut oil protects the the bowels, by conditioning. Does wonders.

The olive oil, lemon or grapefruit stone cleanse was also life changing to me. After pregnancy my body went down...thyroid, varicose veins... stones, pain and toxicity... inability to lose weight.... even though I was always athletic.

I had to go on a low sugar diet, with parasite and stone cleansings, doing yoga-like workouts instead of the fast paced ones and praying whenever fear is trying to get me. We can find ourselves restless for no appearant reasons, and fear always drives to the wrong direction, like overeating and organ dysfunctions."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED]  03/25/2009: Chris from Jacksonville, Fl: "I'm new to this site, it's awesome... I have been suffering from what the M.D. calls acid reflux and given the prilosec routine, however I was just given info from my acupuncturist that LACK OF ACID in the stomach doesn't allow the stomache valve to dump the acid, therefore whatever acid you have have ingested just comes right the prilosec makes it even worse....her suggestions-massive doses of probiotics along with increasing my acid with HCL with pepsin. So far it's helping. I am going to start the ACV tonight."
