I've had House of Herbs Black Strsp Molasses in my cabinet and have used it sparringly for cooking... Had no idea of its true health benefits. Hi, I'm in Accra. I purchased my black strap molasses at Dansoman. Look out for the shell filling station after the Dansoman Police station, there is a health shop just in front of the fuel station that sells some. it cost Ghc 12.

You can also try the Relish health shop at Osu, Accra inside Akai House. Ask for where the old American Embassy used to be.

Have you tried Trader Joes? I found it at Walmart in next to maple syrup. Also, try Whole Foods, if you haven't already found it.

For Blackstrap Molasses that gets you the most punch as a "super food" notice that there are different kinds of BSM. The "thick" kind that has the most nutrients is what I'm after for medicinal purposes. What I normally find at the health food stores over the years is called "Plantation" and I'm sure other good brands are available. But don't confuse that type of BSM with the lighter more refined kind that you'd typically use for deserts.

I am on the east coast and get mine from a local franchise who orders it from FL. The toll free number on the bottle is 1-800-223-2910. I don't know if this is just for the distributor, but I'm sure if you call they can advise you. GOOD LUCK!

Says it does not have any sulphate which is in everything. They say on the label that it is Black Strap Molasses. The only ingredient on the bottle is Molasses. Rhonda, the Swanson product seems to have ferrous fumerate included in its ingredient description. This form of iron may not be suitable for everyone. It may be safer to get your minerals directly from real blackstrap molasses, rather than from a pill that has ferrous fumerate added to it.

yes, but on the label of the bottle there is a warning about it having acrylic which is carcinogenic to the body. I am not sure if I should use it or not. Since it is being boiled 3 times to get consistency during extreme and long time heating, acrylic can be formed which is carcinogenic. So while I want to use it and purchased it, I am confused if I am doing good for my body by consuming it.

I had surgery on 2008 to remove multiple fibroids but it came back so fast and this time, I want to avoid surgery. I am currently taking BSM and in less than 2 weeks, I have put on so much weight around my mid section. Susana, ask in a health food store for Blackstrap Molasses from the company Horizon from the Netherlands. It's called: rietsuikermelasse.

S: The best places to look are "health food stores" and "farmers market". Is there by chance a Mennonite community in your area (I think the Mennonites originated in that region) as they are major produces of BSM.

As for Iron and energy, the health benefits of Cooked Liver (usually beef-calf or chicken from grocer) or supplemented Raw Liver Tablets are similar to BSM. Beets are a good plant source of of Iron.

You should also take Raw Kelp tablets to get natural Iodine in the Thyroid Gland which will increase your metabolism/energy.
