Hello All....I just wanted to share my experience with using ACV.I was told about the remedy a few years ago but I didnt take it seriously. I'm 23 and my weight was 269 on July 9th(the day I started). Today I weigh 255. Awesome. I have noticed the cravings for sugary foods has diminished and all i want to eat is salad. Im graduating from college in 3 weeks so I hope to lose another 15-20lbs by then.I take 2 tablespoons of ACV, 1 Tblspoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, 3 times a day:sometimes 4 if Im up very late. The question I have is, Is the weight going to continue to come off or will I hit a plateau( similiar to other diets)? And also if I stop taking the ACV will the weight come back? If I put the 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, can it still damage my teeth? or gums?

I stumbled across this website about 3 days ago and began taking 2 tblspoons of ACV in 8 oz. of water before each at that time. What I have immediately noticed is that I am *not* having to deal with "the munchies" in between meals, and I am satisfied with smaller portions and healthier options at meal time. This is coming from someone who *always* has enjoyed high-calorie, high-fat-content, high-carb foods.

In the past 3 days, I haven't *ONCE* craved anything sweet. Incredible!! Yesterday (about 2 full days in), I couldn't believe how much energy I had--I was the energizer bunny all the way up until midnight last night. I only went to bed because I knew I shouldn't stay up any longer! The only downside I have noticed so far is that I have had diarrhea several times today. Also, although my hunger has been curbed, it feels more like I have NO appetite. It's almost like I have an intense distaste for food.

Should I be concerned about this? I'm thinking it's a result of the ACV. Should I decrease the amount of ACV or is this something that will subside (the diarrhea)?

This is a great site! I just want to tell you that the apple cider vinegar and baking soda really works great! I have lost 20 pounds in a little over two months! My mother runs an herbal store and constantly has to order_____ Apple Cider Vinegar! My father-in-law, could hardly get out of bed, and when he did he was in a wheel chair most of the time, but he started the ACV and baking soda and has lost 2 shirt sizes, out mowing grass, and his diabetes is getting under contro! Had a lady today tell me that she is feeling so much better as far as energy and that she is losing weight in abdominal area. Will keep you posted. Dee (sicknessanddisease.blogspot.com)

I like the A.C.V. it does work great external and can help you lose weight, but I don't think it is the miracle cure for weight loss. I still have to eat healthier and get active or the weight will remain the same or I will gain. Pretty much everything I have tried so far on this site I have had great results with. Be healthy and God Bless.

You need to use an organic, raw brand of ACV, or it will not work as well. I use 2 Teaspoons, in about 8oz of water two times a day (some use it three times a day). I've been doing it for 2 months now and feel so great! Have also lost most of the baby weight and will soon be at the size I was pre-kids! Awesome, awesome stuff!

It sounds likely that the weight you've gained may be muscle weight due to exercising,.. havn't you noticed any toning? Try noting your measurements for progress instead. Hope it's working for you!

I have stuck with the various recipes over the past three weeks. I even walk 3-4 miles a day, 4 times a week! Well, whoa and behold I have gained 6 pounds! I am so sad and heart broken!. I must admit the apple cider vinegar has made me feel so energetic and full of energy. Unfortunately,I must admit that mentally, I'd rather be thin and depressed then fat and happy. Best wishes to you all. Apple cider vinegar has its advantages...suppose it just wasn't meant for me!

Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat. You are probably losing fat and gaining muscle. This will balance itself off and after you reach your activity muscle tone then you will lose more weight. Keep it up!

Yes, I agree with Mark. I was going to say the same thing, that when you are working out you will lose body fat and gain muscle tone. Just keep in mind that if you are lifting weights, to modify your reps (repititions) and always stretch before and after each session, to even out the toning of your muscles. Stretching and light weightlifting, small weights, will stretch out your muscles and assist in lean muscle - body mass.
I hope this helps.

hey, i am guessing that your body was building muscle and that is why you were gaining weight.

Hi maybe I'm not doing this right, I have organic acv,,and was taking 2 teaspoons alone before meals, didn't lose weight. But I don't do it faithfully. My question is this ??? there's a few recipes here, what's the best most effective one? Is it best to make a large amount, like a quart and 1 cup of acv and drink throughout the day or to take 1/2 acv in 1/2 cup, and is honey necessary or just for taste? PLEASE HELP ME HERE. I WANT TO TRY IT FAITHFULLY AND SEE RESULTS LIKE YOU ALL DID.. WHAT SHOULD I DO, WANT TO LOSE THE 20 LBS I GAINED,,,, AS FAST AS POSSIBE. THANKS

ACV for weight loss: I have been drinking apple cider vinegar (1/2 cup in quart water and honey) for a fortnight now. I am 47 and would like to shift 3 or 4 pounds. Nothing has happened, not an ounce of difference. I am watching what I eat, have cut out carbonated drinks and am exercising (zen chi machine). Sorry folks, not a success story but I have acquired a taste for ACV and honey.

I notice that many of the naysayers are drinking their ACV with HONEY and I'm wondering if this SUGAR is keeping them from losing the weight due to SUGAR'S deleterious affect on glucose utilization for some people. Most people think sugars such as honey and even pure maple syrup are okay because they're natural sugars. The first time I tried the acv with 1 tsp of honey I got extremely dizzy - way too much sugar. I would suggust that those who use honey with ACV, and show no weight loss, stop using it.

I tried ACV, 2 Tbl in juice, plus 1 Tbl honey. I did this 3X a day. I did it for a whole month. It didn't help allergies, overall energy or weight loss. It also did nothing for my kids' health. It may have improved my complexion. I do use it externally on my face as well, and that does seem to help some. It may help keep me somewhat healthier as far as communicable diseases go. I haven't caught the kids' myriad colds, flu, etc. But that may be due to echinacea, oil pulling, cold showers, or healthier eating!

Many years ago there was a diet group called the Diet Center. My mother was on their diet and lost several pounds. The main part of the program was to drink 1Tbl acv with a glass of water each day. I cant remember if it was more then once a day but it worked well. Just a side note. A few years later, I got married and found out that my husband's uncle had written the diet program for the Diet Center. He was a prominent doctor in the community. So there are doctors that know about apple cider vinegar and its benefits.

fatigue--I struggle daily with lupus and fibromyalgia. Both these things come with a host of problems--IBS, migraines, fatigue, UTI, blah, blah, blah. One of my biggest problems is weight gain (every time I'm on antibiotics I gain and losing it is like climbing Everest). I can take no pain medications because of allergies and nothing for lupus because my liver is not healthy (though I'm not a drinker). I also stay sick to my stomach. Wake up sick every day. Just before Thanksgiving, I started drinking vinegar at night before bed (I've tried all kinds of diets and supplements but thought something had to work). I was only having one dose (tastes good to me), lost five pounds, felt like a real person. and wasn't sick. I got a UTI but the pain was minimal (the dr. said the acid was helping to kill the bacteria). I gained no weight taking the meds or over Christmas. Forgot to buy more and after three days feel absolutely awful. Now I know to increase my intake and I have hope. Thank you.

I'm one of those people who believe that drug companies are not out to cure diseases but to come up with drugs to ONLY control them so we're stuck buying them for a lifetime. After my doctor had me wear a blood pressure device for 24 hours I was told my blood pressure was high and he put me on (Micardis?). 2 months later on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 5-06 I had a stroke. I wish I could give you numbers and readings but I don't have them. 14 years ago I was told I was a diabetic and needed to control it with diet which I never really did. Anyway after the stroke my doctor had me go get my blood tested for almost everything sugarwise. He told me of bad numbers on most everything. Then a friend told me about Apple Cider Vinegar and although it's not the tastiest thing I started taking a drink of Heinz ACV every morning. That started about 6 months ago. On my last Dr. appointment going over another blood sugar test he wanted to know how much I was exercising because my blood pressure was good and so were all my sugar numbers plus I'm almost under 200 pounds for the first time in ??? I'm at 203 with a high of 232 and haven't changed a thing in my lifestyle. I haven't exercised on a regular basis since giving up softball at the age of 46 four years ago. ACV has made a believer of me. Now if I could just pour it on my head and regrow my hair.

I take one tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar mix with a glass of lukewarm water to be taken before or after a meal twice or once daily preferably after lunch and dinner. I used to have a gastric problem but believe me after i started taking the ACV my gastric just disappeared. My body feel lighter. I also loose my weight. I tried to convince my family member with the same problem but the word vinegar seems to scare them. Until one day my mother tried my ACV recipe and she was amazed! Her gastric which she was having for almost half of her age (she is 52) is no longer there. For all readers of this column who wants to lose weight please try my recipe plus a minimum of 3 times a week of exercise will see an amazing result within 3-4 weeks.
