Hi I have been oilpulling for over a week now, and can feel the benefits of this, clearer head and sleeping better. My question is, even tho you recommend pulling for 10 - 20 mins, I have noticed that the oil in my mouth turns white really quickly, sometimes after just a few mins. Does this mean i have high levels of toxins?? I was wondering if I should spit it out after 5 mins and start again and repeating the process to reap the full benefits, as I seem just to be swishing the toxic substance around in my mouth!! I use unrefined sesame oil, do you think repaeting the process within the 20 mins would be of more benefit to me??

I have been doing oil pulling for 2 weeks now. I use sesame or almond oil. The first time I did it at night before bed. In the morning, My dry chapped hands were noticeably smoother and more supple. My face has also become smoother. After 4 days, I noticed that a cronic pain that I had in my right side upper back and neck were diminished considerably and I could move my head from side to side without any pain.I originally tried it to relieve my nasal congestion which it does temporarly. I have also seen marked improvement in knee and other joint pain. I will continue to do it daily. I take vitamins and supplements, and see my chiropractor, but nothing has helped as much as oil pulling for my pain.

I have terrible dryness as if the cells of my body are not assimilating water, and have suffered from terrible congestion, resulting in lack of sleep; literally pacing the floor all night when my sinuses are really bad. I found this site and immediately started pulling with organic cold-pressed sesame oil. I did this faithfully for a week, with no difference. What am I doing wrong? I read the testimonials and had such hope. Perhaps for a chronic condition it takes much longer? Please advise, I am desperately trying to cure this.

I have been oil pulling for 13 months now. I went from being very ill, enough so I was too ill to get out of bed some days, to feeling like my old strong healthy self again.

You must Oil Pull every day like a habit. I do it in the mornings, I've used other oils but sesame is the only one I found that works... I usually pull for about 30 to 45 minutes... So many things have been healed on me that I can't even begin to list them all... I did have a healing crises that lasted about a week the first month I started. I have got so many people to try this because of my success with it. So many things for so many people have been cured... Just try it, and use Sesame and do it daily... Some times I will do it twice a day if I have been around someone with a cold... Ohh, I use to keep colds, it was rare that I didn't have one. I am proud to say I have not had a cold for over a year now because of the oil pulling... Its an easy thing to do to get healthy and stay that way... Just remember its not a temporary fix... You stop pulling, and the results will stop too and you will go back to how things were before you pulled... So keep up with it... You will be glad you did... And you have to do it more than a few days a week... Do it daily...

This is an addendum to my previous post. When you practice oil pulling you might want to, also, run your tongue around your mouth in a circular fashion so that it glides across and lightly touches the front of all your teeth. Five circuits of your mouth is about right. This is best done shortly after beginning a session and again right at the end, while looking down. Sometimes rotate your tongue to the right - sometimes to the left. There is no particular rule to it. Experiment. Tongue rotation is beneficial with or without oil pulling. One of my teachers pointed this technique out to me awhile back. She said this motion cleans and balances the electrical aspects of a person's mouth and, because of the connections between our mouth and the rest of our body, benefits everything else, too. For those of you who find oil pulling somewhat difficult, you might want to just let the oil sit in your mouth for a minute or so before beginning pulling, swishing and so forth. This gives your body a chance to get used to the oil, making it easier to relax into the experience. Also, I am still offering the directions for Ujjayi Pranayama breathing. I have been oil pulling with sesame seed oil for about two weeks. Within two days I noticed my teeth were brighter and gums no longer bleeding when I brush. After a week I noticed my redness in my skin was almost completely gone. I was suffering from Chronic Hives and now my skin isn't blotchy red after two weeks. I also started my cycle, which has been extremely painful the last 8 months. I had no warning! Not one cramp! This is amazing! So I'm hooked! FYI- before I started using Sesame Seed Oil I was using VCO for oil pulling .My teeth were brighter after 1 day and no morning bad breath. I had to stop after 3 days due to mixing too many things in my system. Once I got the clear from my dermotologist on my chronic hives I decided to try SSO because of what I read on this site. If anyone knows that VCO works the same as sesame seed oil please let me know.

I tried OP for some days a few weeks ago with Virgin Light Olive Oil, but did not experience any positive results. Changed to Sesame oil about 10 days ago, and can feel its effect in a good way. Little shine on gums and teeth and skin feels better, too. Will keep this updated as it continues:).

I was curious about trying this oil pulling that everyone was talking about on the website. So, I went to the store and bought Organic Unrefined Sesame Oil (cold pressed). I oil pulled today. I wanted to spit it out after a minute or two. I don't know why! I hung in for just barely ten minutes and spit it out. I was rinsing out my mouth with water when all of a sudden, I felt sick. I started coughing and gagging a little bit. I then spit out a tiny gob of gray phlegm. Ugh!! Where did that come from?? I feel a little tiny ache in my stomache and throat and, I have a bad headache now. But, my mouth feels clean like I just brushed my teeth. My nose was stuffed up before and, I felt a little congested. BUT, now, I don't feel like that. I can breath fine. Maybe that was what that gray gunk was!! I'm definitely going to keep trying this out to see what else happens. I'll keep you updated. : )

Hi I've started OP 6 days ago and am pulling twice a day with sesame seed oil. I just lost a filling in my tooth 5 days into the oilpulling. I was not familiar with your site and just discovered it today. And there is the evidence with amalgam fillings. I had no idea. I do have some more fillings, but would hate to stop OP as I have noticed a difference in my energy level, my mood seems to be more consistent and steady and my feeling achy in my body, is starting to diminish. My mouth feels cleaner, my tongue looks pinker, my teeth look whiter and stronger. My gums are not as sensitive. I think I just convinced myself, that I will keep on with the OP as I really like the way it makes me feel. I think the visit to the dentist will be unavoidable, but perhaps a blessing to replace amalgam fillings anyways. Thank you for such a wonderful and informative site.Keep up the good deed. Maria

maybe i am doing this wrong (oil pulling) but for over a month i would swish seseame oil in my mouth for 20 minutes in the morning, made sure to brush my teeth before and afterwards too... the reason? i have a tooth abscess in the top right side... did my teeth get whiter? no. did the abscess go away? no. did my skin become less dry? no. did anything other than nothing happen? no. so i am confused... is all of this bullcrap? should i continue oil pulling longer, for a year perhaps, but people make it sound like it works overnight, you know miracle cure! now i am a believer in alternative medicine... but ones that work... so what i would like to know is if everyone on this is just crazy gullable, or am i just the only freak that oil pulling does not work work wonders on? what would really be interesting is if this is actually put up, considering this is not a favorable testimony.

I have been oil pulling for about 4 months and have noticed results. Just this week I started to get a metal taste in my mouth and it takes a great deal of water to get rid of it. The oil is not turning white like it always has. I'm not doing anything different. I use Sesame oil - somethimes olive and coconut but mostly sesame. Any ideas what the problem is? I'm going to eat seaweed all week to get rid of toxic metal but why all of a sudden is this happening?

Angie from Sparta, MO, your post is giving me hope. I have suffered from acne all of my life (I'm 40). From time to time I would go on oral birth control to diminish the acne but did not like being on more prescriptions than I had to be and also did not like the side effects. I even use the famous skin care products (begins with a P) that you see advertised on TV, but around certain times of the month, nothing helps. I just started OPing three days ago and am optimistic. Good to know that this is a condition that may be helped!

I am using organic coco oil on a 3 month excrutiating abcess that resulted in losing a filling while unemployed. It has escalated to a full abscess that has receeded into my sinus and behind my eye. I am waiting on insurance to kick in. Looked on line and found organic coco oil.

Results from day 1... Pain that I thought I was to pass out from is reduced to nothing. Abscess has shrunk... Able to push on it and clean it a bit... Went to urgent care and paid 290. 0 plus prescriptions... Antibiotics so strong made my stomach hurt, and I have a steel stomach... Got vicodin, which does help with pain management, but I was a club kid in my 20's and am not looking to develop any addictions... So I search for homeopathic remedies.... The coco oil has been an AMAZING alternative to cleaning my mouth, pain management and actually having a cleaner mouth... Something definitely worth checking into :) good luck:)

Hi, I've been oil pulling with sesame oil for over 2 months and it has helped me with my sinus condition, energy level, and to get past the flu season while everyone else got it. (Which is a surprise because I'm the first to catch a bug). But the thing is I stopped a few weeks ago, and I've developed allergies, itchy skin with welts and now I have discovered a swelling, in my breast. While my doctor says it can wait for 2 weeks before getting checked, I was wondering if there's any connection between my new conditions and the oil pulling. I am a little concerned, I'm not sure if I should continue or stop. I have mercury filling that actually chipped soon after I got it done (over 5 years ago)

To Liz from Bangalore: I've read that many side effects can take place once you stop oil pulling. Oil pulling "cleans" out your insides completely. You are even more prone to infections once you've stopped because your body has become dependent on OP to clean it and does not know what to do with all this "dirt" that suddenly seems to be entering your body. I have also read that because OP brings all infections/dirt to the surface, many people have gotten sick. But they continued OP and found that their body was now officially rid of the hidden sicknesses. I can't say if that's the case with you but I would suggest you continue with OP unless you have a legitimate reason to quit. It's not hurting you in any way so why stop? Hope this helps!

I read about oil pulling on your site, we were looking up benefits of drinking apple cider vinegar, tried the pulling two days ago because everyone at work is getting sick. The first morning I did it, I could tell immediately during and after it was really helping to bring up the phlegm, I was alot more clear. Today was the second day and I am 100% clear and feel somewhat more energetic. I am using expeller pressed organic sesame seed oil for 15-20 mins each morning while bathing. I think its going to be great -- I will let you all know.

Sesame oil 20 minute pulling with a teaspoon has cured headaches, and raised energy levels. I had OP sent to me in an email and gave it to my mom who is in her early 60's. She called me one morning and said that she woke up with a terrible headache, as she was going to the medicine cabinet she stopped and thought about trying the OP, she said that she sat down and swished for 20 min and before the time was up her headache was completely gone. Also she lives a ways out of town and rarely comes down without goog reason, she has been useing OP for over a week and has gone out with friends and made shopping trips. This may not sound like much, but to me I have my mom back, she is happier and more youthful than she has been in years. It is also helping with age spots she has recently gotten, they are fading at a visual rate. I highly recommend this to anyone who has tried healing on the outside, but may have negleted the inside. She also has said that her mouth feels fresher than ever. I started yesturday and look forward to any results as they seem to differ with different people.

After more than 2 months of oil pulling, I am ready to comment. I wanted to make sure I gave it enough time to see what would happen.

First, do NOT use unrefined oil! That was a big mistake! I spent the whole day trying not to barf. I used refined sesame oil after that. I swish for 10 mins, rinse, and swish for another 10 mins, then rinse with baking soda and salt in water (about a half tsp each in a few ounces), then rinse with just water. I only have the patience to do it once a day.

Within a few days, my teeth were white! This is amazing, because despite not drinking coffee, tea, cola, etc, my teeth stain very easily. They are also mostly plaque-free. My mouth is very healthy overall. Gums look healthier. I haven't had any canker sores either. I can't say that this has helped any other problems though. Still tired and have bags under my eyes. Still had an outbreak of cold sores. Still have psoriasis. Still have terrible periods. Still have dry feet! It has possibly kept me from catching my kids' myraid colds, etc. But that could also be due to cold(ish showers), echinacea, apple cider vinegar, or any other healthy thing I have started recently! I would recommend oil pulling though, just for mouth health alone.

Dear EARTH CLINIC, Thank you for the information you share on your site. THANK YOU! I have been annoyed with acne for over 5 years. I will be 24 this month. It is most frustrating when I try everything (with caution) that others recommend that has worked to reduce acne for them, but no positive results for me. October 14, 2006 I did a search online for a "natural acne cure". I was amazed at all the natural remedies on your site. I was eating while reading about Oil Pulling, and felt an urgency to try it. I anxiously awaited a 5-hour period and finallly tried Oil Pulling for the first time, with the Sesame Oil from the kitchen. Needless to say, not a morning passes without me working this remedy. The first thing I noticed was the lack of a morning breath, and a continuous fresh breath throughout the day :-) Next, people started commenting on my 'bright smile'. I live in Trinidad (republic of Trinidad & Tobago) and usually have the worst sinus problems in November & December, yet the dreaded period passed without a sneeze or sniffle! I have more energy throughout the day, and it seems as though each day has an extra 2 hours or so. Last but not least, I still have new acne popping up, however, strangely, my face is noticeably smoother and cleaner, despite the marks from years of acne war. I have been visiting this site ever since October last, and have been recommending others to do the same. Oh, and my entire family and some friends have also started; I will let you know how it works for them. Thank you. **Sweet**

Today is Tuesday. Last Friday night and Saturday morning I had increasing pain at the root of tooth #12, upper behind canine tooth. It was getting worse. I found your web page and read about oil pulling with sesame or sunflower seed oil. Saturday morning I bought 8 ounces of sesame oil and started pulling 1 table spoon in the morning and 1 tablespoon at night. Same on Sunday, and Monday. The result was immediate. The first result cut the pain in half, the in half again, and now I can feel only a little discomfort at the root of the tooth. I do not know how this works, but am grateful that it does!

Please post this where asthma sufferers can view it, this is important because I had a hard time finding a cure for asthma on your site but thank God I did. I began a regimen of oil pulling shortly after a lingering cold went to my lungs, I just couldn't get rid of the mucus. I prayed for relief. It got even worse after a chemical pesticide was sprayed in my home for pest control. The next day after the extermination I had the worst attack of my life, I couldn't stand it anymore, so after 10 years of not having to put any poison into my lungs I had to once again use an inhaler to control the attacks. After the second night of waking up feeling side effects of nervousness anxiety and panic I decided enough was enough. I went to the computer in the middle of the night and began hours of research to find a natural cure. That's how I found this miracle of a web site. The next day I went out a purchased some sesame oil and took one table spoon 3x a day at the onset of my asthma attack and Immediately after the very first dose the mucus expelled out of my longs, and within 10 minutes what had plagued me for over 10 years was no more. Since then If I have any tightening in my chest or shortness of breath I IMMEDIATELY do the oil pulling and the problem subsides in 10 minutes or less. ~~~Oh I'd be remiss if I did not mention the side effect, I took oil pulling for Bronchial Asthma but as a result I got a dazzling white smile, sinus relief, not to mention it remarkably helped to subside my symptoms PMS all unexpected but welcomed side effects. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! P.S. thanks my husband thanks you too, lol.

I thought I'd post a comment after my first day's experience with oil pulling, for all of you fellow novices out there who are thinking about trying it. I used sesame oil because I couldn't find sunflower oil (which I had decided, before going shopping for oil, that I'd probably prefer). I was afraid that the taste of ANY of the oils would make me want to gag, but it didn't -- although I do find the warm, greasy feel of it in my mouth somewhat disgusting, and I wonder if it matters if I refrigerate the oil. My first session was soon after rising, on an empty stomach. After one whole minute of vigorous swishing/pulling, I was ready to spit -- and what I spat out was thin and white. I can hardly believe that it takes most folks 15-20 minutes for the oil to change consistency -- and I find it even harder to believe that most people are actually spending this long at it. If that is truly what is required for me to experience any real benefit, then it looks like I'm out of luck -- and my hat is off to those of you who can and do keep at the pulling for this long; you are hardier souls than I. Immediately after spitting out all that I could, I spent a few seconds swishing & pulling with hydrogen peroxide (which I do every day after brushing), and then I looked at my teeth in the mirror - as if one oily minute would have brightened the appearance of my tooth enamel! I drink both coffee and red wine every day, though, and despite brushing, flossing, and rinsing with peroxide daily, my teeth are on the dingy side, but did seem ever so slightly brighter after the oil pulling -- or was it my imagination, and/or wishful thinking? I did a second session later this same day not quite two hours after a meal, and found it much more difficult to keep the oil in my mouth for even the one full minute without gagging, but I managed, and again what I spat was thin and white. Hereafter I plan to try to do at least the one minute every morning for a while, and will post again if I have any interesting results to report.

Try using less oil. I could not use 1 TBLS. I use about half. If I start to gag then I stop swishing and just held it until the sensation passed.

Oil pulling has stabilized my overeating, reduced the itching due to eczema. I have also released 5 pounds in 10 days. I started pulling in mid July during a power failure that lasted 9 days. I started with roasted sesame oil which I loved but switched to cold pressed after reading a lot of testimonials on curezone. I pulled in the morning on an empty stomach and my mouth would fill with saliva after 15 minutes. I have since started pulling after 2 pm and after 5minutes the saliva is flowing. I then spit it out and do the pulling for another 15 minutes. I feel energetic. I haven't noticed my teeth getting any whiter. My face has lost its puffiness. There are some pimples that broke out since I began but their time on my face is short lived. I will write an update when new healings come to light. Peace, Patricia

I've been oil pulling for 2 weeks and the first few days I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels and my sinuses cleared up a lot. But ever since, I've been extremely tired and there has been no difference in the color of my teeth (they have not become whiter). I've been using organic, unrefined sesame oil, pulling for 20 minutes. Also, I swish and pull thru teeth the whole time, but when I spit, the oil is never white, it's always still a bit yellow. How long does it take to feel great and your teeth to become whiter? How long does the healing crisis last normally?

Emaya77: What you are experiencing is very common. You are experiencing the yoyo effect and also the Albert Einstein Theory Of Relativity Effect. You are taking a folk remedy because you feel bad. Let's say you feel 50% good. Oil pulling did some detoxing so you felt better let's say 70% good. This folk remedy does not nourish, does not do everything you need, so you fell back to say 60% good. You are measuring the way you feel now with the way you felt after oil pulling and you forgot the way you used to feel. This is relative. Your goal is to function at 100% good. Going on a complete raw whole food program accomplishes this, not eating cooked conventionally grown food and then oil pulling.

Sesame Oil
Posted by Leo (Florida, US) on 05/16/2014

A completely raw food diet is not good for many people. Asian countries, which have some of the best health statistics, cook their foods beyond reason (especially vegetables).

Oil pulling significantly clears up the sinuses in some people, as is my personal experience, and is not a relative feeling.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hello friends, I started OP with Sesame Oil from 01.09.2013 morning. The first day, I experienced too much activeness, clear mind. I am enjoing my bath. After three days, Good sleep. Sleeping, unknowingly falling into deep sleep. My skin is clear and fresh. Normal and more free motions but no tight motions. From, 8.09.2013, I started OP two times a day i.e before breakfast and dinner, again no tight motion. But, from 13.09.2013, I have been pulling three times a day, i.e., before breakfast, lunch and dinner. From this day onwards until typing like this at this minute, I feeling much difficult to go motion which turned tight. Before motion, I experience a light pain at my stomach and release of litttle gas inducing me to go motion. I use much force to release motion, but release nothing. But, after this type of difficult motion, I feel free of the that little inducing pain eventhough I did not go freemotion as ever before. There is no any severe stomach pain which is generally felt by some to some or more extent while they are not going free motions. After this type of tight motion and releasing of too little or drop-like amount, sensation to go motion vanishes. But, again someother time it starts. From 13.09.2013, I have been drinking 1 and 1/2 litre water immediately after OP. I give minimum gap of 3 hours gap before the lunch OP and 4 hours before the dinner OP. I don't want to take any medicine to make tight motion lose since I want this to happen naturally. I understand that this one of the side effect of OP but for good. I do not know how many more days would my problem continue. Can any one comment on this please.

Dear friends, I am again Ramakrishna posting my experience through ‘reply' to my post.

On 15, Sept 2013. I posted that I started my 3 times OP from 13. 09. 2013 and got tight motion and did not like to use any medicine and expressed that I did not know how many days my problem would continue. Now, I got relived of my tight motion problem on 18. 09. 2013. It is exactly 5 days I.E. from 13.09.2013 to 17.09.2013 that I faced this problem. In fact, I do not like to call it a problem, since this problem did not pose any problem or irritation for me during these 5 days, I.E. from 13.09.2013 to 17.09.2013, except that a little pain in my stomach inducing me to go motion. With confidence, I have waited for the natural results. Finally on 18.09.2013, I got free motions and I am still continuing my 3 times OP. In fact, on 17.09.2013, fearing that eating normally but not going motion, may lead to stagnation or accumulation of unreleased motion in the stomach and hence to some other problems, I bought ayurvedic tablets to make my tight motion lose. But, I did not use them at all. The next day I.E. on 18.09.2013, my problem has gone. Now I am going free motions. But, I should tell that at the last 1 day of above mentioned 5 days I.E. on 17.09.2013 after my dinner OP, I did vajrasana for 15 minutes which I think might have given a way for free motions. But, afterwards I.E. after 18.09.2013, I did not do vajrasana since the problem started declining. Now, I am very happy and relaxed with my OP being on continuous practice.

Mmsg (from Europe): You advised to cut down my 3 times OP but did not tell exactly why? Many are doing 2 times OP and some 3 times OP. I preferred 3 times OP up to one year so as to get faster benefits. After being relieved of some problems which I will later share with you all, I will lessen as you advised. But please tell me why not 2 or 3 times OP or why should it be only 1 time OP. Does doing 3 times OP is equal to doing 1 time OP in respect of the influence and results of oil ? Please reply.

Ramakrishna, any remedy that has undesireable results (as you wrote that you were having trouble with the oil pulling) should be reduced or stopped.

But I have now read that your constipation has been resolved, so you can oil pull to your heart's content now!!

I am again Ramakrishna. Posting my response again through my Update section.Thank you "Mmsg from Somewhere, Europe" for your advising me on 09/28/2013 to stop any remedy that has undesirable results. Really I accept. But you also expressed agreement to my practice and I can oil pull to my heart's content now. But, "Ed2010 from Canada" replied to me on 27/09/2013as "One time OP in the morning is enough. Doing OP removes toxins, parasites through mucus memberanes. When you remove toxins and other elements give your body 24 hours to rest and heal. And ofcourse there will be detox symptoms initially." This Sir/Madam did not advise me to do OP at least 2 times. I am a bit confused whether to continue 3 times OP or not. But feel that this Sir/Madam's telling right. I think we should give our body 24 hours to rest and heal. But, still I expect some more replies from some more friends like you two, as to how many times an OP should be done. Why not 2 times, obviously if not 3 times.I shall be continuing my 3 times. But I would be happy if someone who experimented OP for 3 times like me and advise me to continue 3 times OP, instead just advising me without experimenting so, of course, any kind of advise is really nice and good and I shall always be thankful for any kind of advise.I am expecting advises from friends as to, 1). 3 times OP is no harm or better than 1 time OP, 2). 2 times OP is also no harm and better than 1 and 2 times Op, 3). 1 time OP is better than 2 and 3 times OP.

I request every OP-doing friends to advise me accordingly for which I and many others like me would be thankful and be benefited

Ramakrishna, personally I have done oil pulling more than once a day, and have done it only once a day or once in two days. No reactions. I think the real test to go by is how it makes you feel.

Again I am Ramakrishna: 10/03/2013: Mr./Mrs./Ms. "Mmsg from Somewhere, Europe" Thank you for responding immediately to my comments. You have responded that you had done oil pulling more than once a day, and have done it only once a day or once in two days. No reactions and added that the real test to go by is how it makes you feel. " I am happy to listen to hear this response. You have responded not just with ideas and guessings but with experience. That is good. But, I still need some more men to say so. Though I quoted by latest that I would continue my 3 times OP until 1 year, yet, before seeing your response as this I have already stopped my 3 times OP and reduced it to 2 times OP I.E. Morning OP and Night OP. I would observe the difference between 3 times OP and this 2 times OP. Then I will again reply through my update section.

I want to add that in the website of "oilpulling.com" I have read some quotings as to do more than 1 time OP. I request every oil pulling friend to kindly watch this website and get knowledge of details of OP and come to this section and respond.

Dear friends, I am again Ramakrishna want to share a new experience that I have been undergoing as a side effect of sesame oil pulling. Please read.

From 03.10.2013 onwards, I have been OP only for 2 times I.E. During breakfast and dinner instead of 3 times including lunch. From 07.10.2013, my lower back I.E. middle of two hips, my back at this point is aching I.E. I am getting pain while leaning down, and could not lean down completely. Such pain I used to get in the past when I dont sleep properly on the bed. Such pain will disappear the next day when I sleep properly. But, this time it is not due to my improper sleep and inadequate sleep. To confirm that this is not due to improper sleep, I slept adequately continuously for two to three days. Still the pain is not disappearing.

Moreover, the back pain that I feel as said above being sleeplessness, is also felt at my neck and other joints to a little extent. But this time, this pain is only at the point of place as I said above I.E. middle of two hips, I.E. lower part of backbone. There is at no other place I experience pain. To-day also, at the time of typing like this too I am experiencing pain at that point of place. But, I could walk and run also but cannot lean down front I. E. Front side of my face, not leaning leaning backside of my face. I can sit down but cannot lean front in sitting position. I do not know how many days this will continue.

I will again come to you with updates of my further experiences.

Dear friends, Again I am Ramakrishna posting my updates through the 'reply' link.

I said (on 10.10.2013) that from 7.10.20132 (when I was on my continuation of my 2 times OP which I started on 3.10.2013), I got pain at the middle of my two hips. This pain is still continuing even at this point of time. One more important information I forgotten to add on 10.10.2013 is that this pain and the point of place where this pain occurs had already occured at my 21 years of age (i.e. 23 years back) very severely and my family members used to rub at that place with 'amruthanjan' and 'zandubalm'. We all wrongly thought that this pain occurred at that time for the reason of my bed-ridden position. Yes, we were all wrong, whybecause, had this been really for my bed-ridden position, why should it come now, when I was not at all in bed-ridden position ? The same kind of pain at the same place repeated now. Why? That is, the root cause for that pain might not have completely disappeared from my body and might have again affected that point of place where I am feeling pain. But this time, only after starting my oilpulling only, this pain emerged again which I can bear somewhat. My OP is started fighting with this root-cause and may be fighting until this cause completely disappears from my body but donot know when this fighting will end for my betterment.

Friends, now from 13.10.2013, I have been doing OP (oil pulling) only for once I.e. at morning only. This 1 time OP is also giving me all the benefits I have enjoyed out of my 3 times and 2 tiimes OP. I am feeling too happy and alert and energetic out of this 1 time OP. Now, again to know clearly the difference between 2 times OP and 1 time OP, I am starting my 2 times OP again from today I.e. 21.10.2013. But, my 1 tiime OP is excellent and gives me all the benefits that I enjoyed out of my 3 and 2 times OP. But to know clearly the difference, I want to once again do my 2 time OP from to day. see you all again with my further updates with expectation of your comments and suggestions. Thank you.

Hello Ramakrishna,

You must have gotten GAS SPASM. This can occur when the body trying to heal after prolonged illness, physical inacitivity. This spasm can either be cause of GAS or Clogged Energies. Once your body is starts to heal, this pain will vanish. GAS SPASM similar to Gall bladder Attack, Kidney Stone movement Pain but occurs in the muscle.

One of the folk remedy for spasm is Heat Rice Bran and tie in a thin cloth like a sack and press it on the affected area something like how you use the heat pad. Good health.

Hi! I am ramakrishna, on 21.10.2013, I posted that from 7.10.2013, (when I was on my continuation of my 2 times OP which I started on 3.10.2013) I got pain at the middle of my two hips and I also added that is the problem which recurred after 23 years back. I also added on the same day I.e on 21.10.2013, that from 13.10.2013, I had been pulling only once per day which is also equally benefit compared to 2 times OP and also added that I will again continue my 2 times OP from that day I.e. 21.10.2013 to know the clear difference between 1 time and 2 times OP. As said, I started 2 times OP from 21.10.2013 and doing this 2 times OP even on this updating day I.e. 27.10.2013.

Now, on this day I.e. on 27.10.2013, I would like to add that the pain (as I added above) at the middle of my two hips is slowly decreasing but still I am experienceing pain at that place.

The second experience is an important one which I should tell. From 23.10.2013, I have been experiencing a kind of pain at the backside of my neck. On 22.10.2013 night, I remember well, I slept facing my right side for long until I wake up. I thought that this would be the reason for that pain. But such pain should have vanished and set right after my sleeping right ways the next 2 or 3 days. But, this pain is not declining despite my sleeping rightways and is in the same intense level even on this day I.e. 27.10.2013. One more thing I should connect here is that from 23.10.2013, I am oil pulling somewhat and comparatively slowly. That is raising my chin for only 1 time for every 2 seconds as against raising 3 or 4 times for each and every second. I think this should have been the proper speed how the OP should be done. within 2 to 3 days of starting OP in this speed I.e 1 pull for every 2 seconds, this pain at the back of my neck started, and astonishingly my teeth become more white. Actually as I already stated, I started OP from 01.09.2013 from which day, I have been OPing raising my chin 3 or 4 time per second, my teeth started to become whiter and better. But, after I started OPing in the ratio of 1:2, my teeth became still more white and better. Note that, I said "raising chin" for the sake of making the speed of OP clearer to you all. But apart from raising chin other ways also I used to OP so that the oil is spread and swished at every nook and corner of our mouth. I will continue this speed of OP and like the readers to comment on this. I will again come with my updates and relievings of my pains, if so, again at my next updatiing.

Hello Oilpullers, again I am ramakrishna. I wish you all a very happy new year 2014. please read the following bracketed lines which I added on my last updating I.e. on 27.10.2013 : -

(...... from 23.10.2013, I am oil pulling somewhat and comparatively slowly. I am really feel sorry for adding in the above as "....I am oil pulling somewhat and comparatively slowly. That is raising my chin for only 1 time for every 2 seconds as against raising 3 or 4 times for each and every second. I think this should have been the proper speed how the OP should be done......Note that, I said "raising chin" for the sake of making the speed of OP clearer to you all.".

I should not have done as above. why because the speed that I mentioned may be wrong one. That is raising the chin only 1 time for every 2 seconds instead of 3 or 4 time for every second may be wrong. In fact, moving or raising chin or mouth 3 or 4 time per second may or may not be correct. but 1 time for every 2 seconds is really wrong as it is too slow since there should be some force for the oil to pull out the toxins from inner parts of our body. It is the rule that oilpulling should not done vigorously. this means it should not be done more speedily.

Now, I don't again mislead anyone with my own varying experiences with regard to the speed of oilpulling. I leave the decision to be taken by you all on your own with your own experience. Experience will definitely tell every oilpuller to do it in right way provided they should update their knowledge by reading the experiences of various oil pullers from various countries all over the world.

Henceforth, I just add my own experience as it is. Coming to my experience as I added in the above updating and in the earlier updating that I got pain at the middle of my two hips and also at my neck. I have been continuously doing OP 2 times per day I.e. morning and night. Why I continued my 2 times OP is that the hidden problems in my body are not more adequately influenced by 1 time OP. When I started OP for 2 times, these problems are more influenced by the OP. Therefore, I continued my 2 times OP.

The pain at my hip and neck are continuing still. Now I want to ask one question all of you. Please answer.

Is it right to do OP 2 times, one immediately after another. That is after finishing OP for 20 minutes and washing our mouth, can we immediately start doing OP another time ? Can anyone answer this question correctly with their experience. ?

My own answer to my question is that since OP should be done on an empty stomach even without drinking water, we can do it successively 2 times, onetime after another time. Out of 1st time OP and washing/cleaning/brushing/rinsing our mouth, the toxins will be expelled out by the oil. After that, when again starting to do OP second time immediately, some more toxins will be pulled out by the oil, I think. It is not mentioned anywhere or by anyone that in a day, 1 time OP at morning, will pull out all the toxins/bacteria that present/accumulated before doing that OP. Still some more toxins would be there in our body on that day, I think. Therefore, when again starting to do OilPulling (OP) immediately after the 1st time, will again work out and pull out some more toxins though not all of them present at that point of time in our body.

During my last updating, I was advised by one friend that doing OP for 1 time I.e. at morning is enough instead of doing OP for 2 times I.e. both at morning and night, since our body requires some time to be healed. I agree to their advise. though I am following 2 times OP which benefits me somewhat more than 1 time OP.

Now, I ask the same friend the above question i.e. "Is it right to do OP 2 times, one immediately after another. That is after finishing OP for 20 minutes and washing our mouth, can we immediately start doing OP another time? Can anyone answer this question correctly with their experience. ?"

I am eagerly awaiting for the answer for this question from all the oilpullers. please oblige.

Ramakrishna: I do O.P. almost daily as the back-to-back method, that is one followed by another. This seems to be the best detox compared to pulling in morning then evening. Only problem I have encountered is esophagus irritation which can be somewhat problematic. Today I did not pull because my esophagus needed a break.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Thank you Mr.Timh from Ky, Usa for responding quickly and timely. You added in your answer to my question that you followed the back-toback method and appreciated it. Very good. And you also added that you faced the problem of "esophagus". You see Mr.Timh, you just mentioned the name of the problem. But, it would be more beneficial for others if you include your facing of the problem in detail, its nature and the course etc. More over this "esophagus" is not a usual word or vocabulary that we often come across. Therefore it would be better to include our experience in detail so that others also identify their problem, if any, with this. Now, Mr. Timh, I would like to ask you that why did you stop doing back-to-back method of oilpulling for this reason of esaphagus. Why don't you think as it is one of the side effects of this back-toback OP method. It should be born in my mind that whatever the side effects that we face in the course of our Oilpulling, we should not stop doing oilpulling. we should keep on doing. Instead we can seek some medicine for the relief of such side effects, without stopping OP (oilpulling). This is my personal belief only. Not any confirmed belief. In the next inclusion, please explain in detail when did your problem start?, how it influenced you?, what are the problems and how you faced them? Which made you stop doing so?. Did you think that oilpulling should not be done at the point of our sudden facing of any side effects like that of yours.? Please respond accordingly.

One oil puller namely "Mmsg from Somewhere, Europe" advised me to do OP only for 1 time and then later agreed to my 2 times OP and asked to do OP to my hearts' content. While I thank this oil-puller, I would like to ask Mr. "Ed2010 from Canada " who also advised me that One time OP in the morning is enough. Now I am asking this canada friend also that " Is it right to do OP 2 times, one immediately after another. That is after finishing OP for 20 minutes and washing our mouth, can we immediately start doing OP another time ? Can anyone answer this question correctly with their experience. ? I think this type of back-to-back OP is also equal to do only 1 time OP (oilpulling). Whybecasue, 2 tiimes OP as objected by this fried is having a break between each time. 2 times of morning and evening OP is having the break of 10 to 15 hours between them. And, 3 tiimes OP I.e. morning, afternoon and night, is having break between each of them atleast 4 to 5 hours break or gap between them. But the back-to-back OP, I.e. doing one OP after another immediately totally 2 times, does not have gap or break between them. Break or gap here means that break of filling our stomach with some solid or liquid food. But this back-to-back OP is not having any gap I.e we are not eating or drinking anything. With the same empty stomach we are continuously doing OP for 2 or 3 times, immediately one after another, of course, after cleaning our mouth and teeth after each time of this back-to-back OP.

I believe that not only this canada friend who advised me but also other Oilpullers also would respond to my above question, but in detail. if possible after experimenting this back-to-back method.

Ramakrishna: Sorry but I am not able to go into the extended details you ask, but I will try to further clarify to some degree.

First, I am suffering from a chronic and severe environmental illness leaving my body very toxic at all times. O.P. has helped to a noticeable degree. I use OTC vegetable oil w/ added grapefruitseed oil concentrate to help kill the pathogens. At least once and about 2 times per month my esophagus gets irritated so I skip O.P. until it heals (which is usually a day or two). So I did not stop O.P. altogether; I pulled today back-to-back and that second pull does seem to bring about better results. I always rince my mouth w/ OTC mouthwash to kill the germs. I have also experienced some tooth darkening. For this I am getting good results w/ toothpaste w/ sodium bicarbonate plus sodium percarbonate (peroxide).

Hope this helps.

Thank you Mr. Timh from Ky, Usa for according a kind reply. Thank you very much. I am really dissatisfied for not getting advises from adequate number of OIlpullers as regards the back-to-back method of oilpulling. But, still been in anticipation.

Now, again I want to ask another question. That is, is it right for the High blood pressure + blood sugar oilpullers to wash their mouth with salt water. ? I firmly aver that salt water swishing for cleaning our mouth after oilpulling, on daily basis, will definitely raise their blood pressure. and may lead to some unwanted repercussions. Expecting all the oilpullers of all kinds of oil to respond accordingly.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

Hi! OP doers, wish you all & our beloved earth clinic a very happy new year. I have stopped writing on this nice site but actually did not stop my OP at all. As continuation to my last addition, I would like to tell that I dare not stop OP after having experienced benefits from my Sesame-OP. Going on doing at all times 2 times both in the morning and night.

As already missed to tell as to why I was doing OP, I have been doing it mainly for the problem of indigestion & swollen nodes of my throat. It is 1 year + 3 months since I had started doing OP in Sep' 2013 in which duration my problem is addressed by OP. The pain at my hip and neck have reduced to some more extent.

I have to add here that from 12/1/2015, I started doing OP 3 consequent and continuous times, one after another in the early morning and 1 time in the night with empty stomach. I noticed on 14/1/2015 that I lost my audible voice, as if for shouting/talking/singing too much & too long. I have to try hard to talk loud but sound is very less and not so audible. On doing 3rd consequent time of OP, a lot of mucus/phlegm is coming out on spitting with coughing. On 16/1/15 I am slowly getting back my audible voice. even at this moment of writing like this also, my voice is not completely clear and audible. Again in the night if I try to do 2 consequent times instead of 1 time, the swollen nodes are found still visibly swollen in the morning. then I stopped doing 2 times in the night and doing only 1 time along with 3 consequent times of OP in the morning.

One important and great effect that I got out of this 3 consequent times of OP in the morning is that my mind is terribly fresh and clear. remembrance power is also improved much better. digestion power also improved better.

Recently, in one site I read that many are doing urine therapy (drinking urine daily in the early morning, also massaging their body). Is it right to do Urine therapy along with OP. After reading a lot on Urine therapy, I found this one to be better than OP. But I could not and dare not stop my 1year+3months-old OP at all. Can any one comment on this and advise?

Can any one clarify whether a High Blood Pressure (BP) persons can clean their mouth with salt water after OP or not. On doing so, will there be any chance for their BP to rise high and affect their brain nerves to blast which results in death. Also please clarify the same for persons with Blood Pressure + Blood Sugar, since my brother has both BP and Blood sugar/Urine sugar? Early Clarification is solicited.

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

It is six months since I have oil pulling with sesame oil moving my mouth in various shapes, raising my teeth up and down and allowing the oil to move all the corners of the mouth. On this, the oil becomes watery only after 20 or 25 minutes or sometimes after 30 minutes. But, from 1st February 2014 I.e. on 6th month, seeing some oil pulling video, I have been pulling the oil keeping my lips in round shape so that my teeth will leave some gap to allow the oil forwards, backwards and sideways. On doing so it is surprising to see that the oil becomes watery correctly on 15th minute. It is also surprising to see recently that the oil becomes watery completely after 10 minutes. again continuing for another 5 minutes, I spit out the oil since the oil should not be kept for more time in mouth not allowing the accumulated bacteria or viruses to re-enter into the mouth. Now, I have the doubt that whether the previous pulling is better one or not I.e. keeping our mouth in various shapes and allowing the oil to move all the corners of our mouth or that whether the later type of pulling, I.e. pulling oil keeping our lips in round shape and allowing the oil to move all the corners of the mouth or that whether such early becoming of oil to be watery is normal in course of the days irrespective of type of movement of our mouth ?. I request the readers not to think that this is a silly doubt. But I want to get clarification from the oil pullers as every simple and silly matter pertaining to oil pulling is very important for me.

Hi Tbs from London! Your writing indicates that you are very cautious about what you use and what you ingest, so I'm positive you're using Organic Sesame oil. Have you tried other oils? Is it possible you're allergic to the sesame oil?

I've only just begun my OP-ing (my first 'swish' today! ) so I am by no means an expert on this topic, "I'm just it out there."

I hope you're doing better!

I started oil pulling about 6 months ago due to some health issues and wanted to give it time to see how it went before I posted my results. I used Unrefined Organic Sesame Oil and oil pulled every morning for 20 minutes.

Immediately I noticed that my teeth felt 'fresh from the dentist clean', my breath also seemed fresher and my teeth were whiter. This hasn't seemed to reduce any in the past 6 months, my teeth still feel & look good, in fact I just had my 6 month check-up and my dentist said "everything looks great, keep doing what you're doing" -- mind you, last time I had 4 cavities that had to be filled! Speaking of cavities, I have a lot of fillings in my mouth and have not noticed any problems with them coming loose.

The other thing I noticed is the actual act of oil pulling makes my sinuses drain like crazy which is inconvenient since my mouth is full but I make it work.

As for noticing any reduction with the health issues that I've had, I honestly can't say that I have noticed any improvement -- or any unimprovement -- either.

I've read different theories for why oil pulling works from it 'pulling nasty bugs from your body', to 'massaging acupressure points on your tongue' to simply 'swishing out the the mouth bacteria'. Personally, I think the swishing of bacteria out of your mouth makes the most sense, why it works, I don't know, maybe having your own saliva mixed in there with the oil helps break stuff down. I did find out that if you put a small amount of oil in a bowl and whisk it, it will turn white so I don't think waiting until the oil turns white to spit it out has any credence, I think some people are probably just better swishers than others .

As for me, I will continue to oil pull because I enjoy the routine and it seems to have some benefits and no detriments thus far.

Hi Priyanka, I know oil pulling can really help the gums and teeth and even detox. I would suggest, in addition, making sure you get plenty of vitamin c. Recently, I had posted about alternative tooth/ gum mouth health. I study Nadine Artemis' work and most recently bought Ramiel Nagel's book called "Cure Tooth Decay". It is truly an amazing book with information on restoring tooth enamel, reversing cavities, restoring gum health and much more. One of the things he talks about is that many people with gum issues have a low level of scurvy. That made so much sense to me! One of the points he brought up is that scurvy is brought on by a whole, dry grain diet. So, that would be something to be aware of too. If you can get this book, it is a God send!

Dr. Hal Huggins says sea salt water rinses will kill bacteria causing the problematic gums and then rinsing with sodium ascorbate vitamin c powder which will create electrons which healthy tissue is saturated with.

Anyway, I find the whole alternative mouth health subject fascinating and have learned so much which we are never told by the mainstream dentists. People to listen to are Dr. Weston Price, Dr. Hal Huggins, Ramiel Nagel, Nadine Artemis and Dr. Victor Zeines who will teach you ways we were never taught! Actually, I will give you a link to an incredible seminar which I listened to and learned from. Interviews include all these people and more! I promise you will learn so much.

I'm not sure how long these will continue to be available to all so try to listen soon. Hope this information helps you keep those gums and teeth healthy! Lisa

Hi Priyanka. I began oil pulling with coconut oil this summer and everything inside my mouth improved. I aslo did it this fall when I noticed some gum recession. After about 1 week of oil pulling with organic coconut oil, there were visible improvements in my gum line. OP, especially with coconut oil, offers lots of other benefits too. Give it a try, there's nothing to lose. You can always take any leftover coconut oil and use it for your hair, skin or cooking. Start out with 1 teaspoon and work up to 1 tablespoon, for anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. It is tricky at first but becomes easier as you do it. I am sure you will be happy with what you see.

Hi Hope, I'm so happy someone listened to this valuable summit! So far, no one else has given any feedback on it. I have listened to a couple of them more than once because there's so much information. Since listening, I have incorporated quite a few protocols. I have even managed to turn one of my daughter's cavities around. It is no longer active. It is my instinct to find a way around the mainstream medical/ dental community as they tend to jump the gun and hand out antibiotics, drill and believe in invasive procedures too readily. After listening to David Wolfe choose to not listen to the dentist telling him to remove his tooth and 10 years later, not only does he still have it but it's absolutely fine, I sat quietly while the dental assistant insisted that I needed to get her small cavity filled immediately neither agreeing or disagreeing. I then went home and we went to work on de-activating it and healing it. The following day she said she couldn't feel it any more.

I am eating foods with K-2 in them, now have all of us taking fermented cod liver oil/ butter oil having learned this from Ramiel Nagel and Weston Price and have returned to making bone broths which I got away from over the summer. In two weeks time, I can feel how firm my teeth are in my gums and how firm my bite is now with absolutely no tenderness.

I am going to post an audio interview of Ramiel Nagel and also you'll see his book which I just ordered and have been reading with great interest.

One final note- did you notice that you can download all the interviews to mp3? It was just pointed out to me so I wanted to pass that on since at some point these will no longer be available for free. Anyway, so happy you listened! Best of health to you, Lisa

Thank you again Lisa!

I have been listening to the one with Dr Lina Garcia for the past hour - she is simply amazing! I will proceed to download all of the interviews as MP3s, as they are to be treasured. I have also thought it would be a very good idea to listen to several of these twice (or more), including Nigel's, as there is so much valuable information. How wonderful that we have all been given the opportunity to hear these interviews for free and to make them into MP3s for our personal use!

Much appreciation to you, Lisa, for your valuable posts on this glorious website!

I did my first oil pulling this morning. My hope is for it to help me joint pain. But I also woke up with a toothache and I am hoping this can be resolved as well. I used Sesame Oil. After finishing, I immediately am experiencing some nasal stuffiness and mild drainage. The taste wasn't bad. Once I spit it out the taste reminded me of peanut butter.

I plan to use other remedies posted here and will report back my results.

Have been OP with sesame for about a week now. It was tough at first, as I have a strong reflex to swallow. If I couldnt make it the full 15 minutes, I did it for 10 minutes twice that day spaced out. So far I have noticed good and bad properties. The good ones are that I don't seem to be getting the regular corner of the mouth cold sores I used to get on a very regular basis. I notice the stains on my teeth seem to be lessening. The bad is minor and is also attributed to being severely anemic and struggling with depression and unhealthy habits in general, however I am finding myself very tired A LOT.

Another thing to mention is that since the birth of my daughter 11 months ago I have had severe painful acne (and I have always been blessed with beautiful skin). I have started proactive recently, so it may be a combination of things (however I am more consistant with the oil pulling than I am with the proactive system), and I have noticed less large painful deep cystic type blemishes and an overall less red appearance to my face and neck.

I struggle with an addiction to cigarettes right now so I'm not sure how much the oil pulling will have a chance to work with such an addiction but I'm already noticing differences. Also reading about "health crisis" situations I don't feel really uneasy about that... I have been sick most of my life with any number of respiratory and throat issues so I rather welcome a full body purge!

I find that with OP if you just decide you are going to do it and stick with it, it gets easier. I try to distract myself with chores or email checking or read a good article about something that intrigues you... It starts to go faster than you realize!

Sounds like there are lots of toxins in you, wanting to get out. (At least your body wants them out. ) So you are helping release them through oil pulling. Having a baby is a very cleansing even. And pimples and other outbreaks are just another way for the body to release some disgusting toxin. So keep oil pulling, juicing, fasting, and attending stop smoking classes (or use patches) and enjoy a longer, healthier life!! Good luck! Arla

Hey Joy! Just wanted to say that you could replace the Proactive System with apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil. I would suggest organic either way, and unrefined virgin coconut oil. I have had severe acne for over ten years and have been recently using these products. I have noticed a dramatic change in just the first week! First, bring 1 cup of purified water to a warm temp, but not boiling, using a small pot. ( no microwave) Then pour water into heat-safe glass cup. Add 1-2 Tbsp of ACV and then use a cotton swab to dab affected areas. Second, after ACV has dried completely, apply the coco oil to the same affected areas.

I do this process myself and cover my entire body! Its absolutely refreshing!

I noticed an increase in hot/cold sensitivity when I began oil pulling, too. I use organic, extra virgin coconut oil. I'm not sure why the pulling increased the sensitivity, but after switching to a non-flouride toothpaste I longer have a problem.

I keep reading that you must wait four hours after eating and one hour after drinking to oil pull. My mouth and teeth were improved after oil pulling for ten minutes each morning for six months with sesame oil. For instance, a tooth that had been slightly loose is now fine and my dentist complimented me on my dental hygiene. But he still found problems under the gums and I want to oil pull twice a day to see if it causes further improvement.

Waiting four hours after eating is hard for me and I can't see why two hours wouldn't be enough. What harm would there be in that? Has anyone tried it?

Sesame Oil
Posted by Gtcharlie (Los Angeles, Ca, Usa) on 06/26/2011

I o/p with cold-pressed sesame seed oil every morning, then brush teeth with baking soda powder added to the low chlorine tooth paste. I then would sit down and browse the new posts on EC while eating my breakfast.

I am aware of the X hours before and after suggestion but decided not to follow based on my belief that any remedy that interferes with one's daily routine cannot be a long lasting remedy. I can see most of the benefits of o/p I gained. But I doubt anyone who separate their meals and o/p can tell you the difference in its effectiveness.

It is your choice, I think. I'd rather keep doing it everyday then skipping it for any reason.

I am new to this site -- have been reading it non-stop over the last several days, so perhaps someone who is more seasoned than I will comment. But, it sounds like you have quite a few things going on there and would benefit from implementing more than just OPing. I would highly recommend switching your oil to Extra Virgin Coconut Oil for OPing, perhaps even taking a tablespoon or two a day for good measure. Also, read the section on Apple Cider Vinegar and its amazing effects. The last thing, and probably the most important, would be to take a good hard look at what kind of food you're consuming -- cut out all breads and sugars for a while. Have you done the Candida test where you spit into a glass of water and see if your spit is stringy? If it is, you need to go to the Candida section and plan your attack for defeating it. Hope this helps.

I know that I'm replying late, but your severe stomach pain was alarming to me. Did you stop OP? Was this a problem when you switched oils? Did you see a doctor? Did you pass stones? My mother-in-law has severe pains as well; she found that taking 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil stops her stomach pains which helps her sleep at night. At 77, she has diverticulosis, hiatia hernia, chrionically loose stools, cysts, collasped colon... you name it (except for cancer), she's had it within her stomach. Also, her weak stomach (and age) has made her more prone to food poisoning sypmtoms if she eats ANY foods that are even slightly off at a restaurant. Now, whenever she eats out, she takes a garlic capsule after her meal and has eliminated that problem. But, she says that coconut oil ihas brought her the most relief she's had in years.

Nay for sasame oil pulling.

I have eczema on my scalp and gave sesame oil pulling a shot for a whole single week. Nothing's changed on my scalp at all. No signs of any healing. No signs of anything.

I also dislike oil pulling because it's such a time waster. I have to block out 20 minutes in the morning to swish oil around. And it makes my mouth tired doing so. I don't really see any difference is in actually taking a dose of sesame oil over just swishing it around, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, for 20-minutes.

I've started Mother ACV on my scalp and am seeing results. But that's another review for another time.

Hi, I have been oil pulling with sesame oil for a week and I have noticed that all my symptoms are much worse, almost exagerated to the point of not being to handle the pain! Everything I have read about oil pulling says that this probably is a "healing crisis" and I should continue with the oil pulling so that I can get better BUT I have to admit that I didn't think I would feel this bad!

I have the following symptoms: dizziness, pain in my neck, upper back and arms (which I have had some neck problems in the past), also the dark circles underneath my eyes are actually darker, I feel exhausted and my anxiety is through very high... Basically I feel and look like a mess!! I pull oil for 20 minutes every morning. Has anyone else had a healing crisis as bad as mine? I hope these symptoms will lessen soon. This site has been a HUGE inspiration for me! Thank you for all the information and personal stories! Therese

Hi Theresa, My understanding of a healing crisis is that it only lasts a few days (like no more than 3). If it lasts longer than that it is not a healing crisis- it means that your body isn't in need of that particular treatment at this time. I started oil pulling with coconut oil and my skin broke out and stayed broken out for a couple weeks while oil pulling and everytime I tried after that. I stopped. Got some energy healing work done and then tried again a month later and it helped. Another thing is maybe sesame oil is not the best oil for you. You might want to try a different oil.

Hi Billy, In my experience you might not notice any changes for a while. I started oil pulling a while ago and did it for several weeks and then gave up because I didn't notice any differences, but I resumed oil pulling recently and have been doing it for the last month or so and I have to say, I have turned from a sceptic into a believer as it has gotten rid of my sensitive teeth. I used to get tooth pain when I drank cold water or went from cold to hot too quickly but one day while rinsing my mouth after oil pulling I noticed something, when I felt the usual sensation of the pain coming I noticed as that sensation built it got to a point when I expected a pain to kick in but then it suddenly stopped and I felt the sensation subside, it was quite an odd feeling but it made me think, maybe this stuff does work. I've continued oil pulling and I am now convinced it has even further fixed the problem as I get no pain or sensitivity any more. It's crazy to think something that sounds so silly and simple at first, actually works. It has really made me think about what is possible. I think you should give it a fair go as four days is way too short to tell. I know its time consuming and a bit uncomfortable but you do get used to it and I find now I can just tune out and go about doing whatever I need to do in the morning without it bothering me. I use sesame oil and ive just started using hemp oil too, I do one of each now for 20 mins for each every morning and then rinse thoroughly and drink half a litre of water before breaky. Also I'm interested to know how iodine helped your dermatitis, could you write a bit about how you used it as I have dermatitis on my face which is a massive problem for me. Thanks mate, Brendan.

I typically take about 1 tblsp in the morning (not consitently) but before I consume anything. so far my results have been, My Breast are fuller and perkier, better sleep, wake refresh, amazing energy, discharge decreased but not gone, so far I have lost 3 1/2 pounds, appitite totally supressed! and a major thing, my depression systoms are pretty much gone ( im Happy). My only question is, is it safe for my little brother to use it? he is 13 and he notices the change with me and is eager to try some!

Sesame Oil Pulling Reversed My Periodontal Disease

I have always brushed my teeth regularly but I have not been so good at flossing. A year and a half ago I went to the dentist for a usual check up and cleaning. My gums had started bleeding when I was brushing my teeth so I wanted to get them checked. I was especially worried about my 2 front teeth which are implants I got after an accident years ago.

I was told I had gingivitis and pockets in my gums indicating the onset of periodontal disease. They gave me a dental rinse to use at home and had me come back in 3 months. After 3 months the bleeding gums cleared up some but not much. After that, I did not go back to the dentist for a year. Of course my teeth and gums continued to grow worse, bleeding and causing me problems.

Then about 8 months ago I was searching online about bleeding gums and discovered oil pulling. I became curious and figured it was worth a try. I bought some organic refined sesame oil. Within about 2 weeks I noticed a remarkable improvement in my oral health. My gums stopped bleeding and my front teeth quit bothering me.

I stopped oil pulling as an experiment just to make sure it was indeed the oil pulling that was causing the improvement. When I stopped for a few days my front teeth started bothering me and my gums got red and puffy, looking like they were going to bleed again. I resumed the oil pulling and noticed immediate relief and improvement.

I just went back to the dentist last week (this would be a year between visits). They took xrays and did the cleaning. They discovered that my gingivitis/periodontal disease was almost completely gone! No cavities either. The cleaning was a breeze. They were surprised. The dentist verified that my oral health has greatly improved. I am delighted!

I am convinced it is the oil pulling that improved my oral health since I did not change anything else in my lifestyle or hygiene habits. I will continue to oil pull for the rest of my life. I am using refined Sesame Oil every morning before breakfast.

I have had a chronic case of breathlessness for about 2 years. I also feel like I have Chronic Fatigue, I'm always tired. I used numerous treatments including acupuncture, exercising daily, all raw food, and juice therapy. They all seemed to help, but for a limited time only and I would fall back into my tired state, gasping for air. I saw that oil pulling benefits the entire body, so I thought "Why not?". Three weeks into oil pulling, I am getting oxygen once again. The fatigue is not as debilitating as it was, and I am able to function a lot better. I am a 24 year old college student, so I need all the energy I can get. Oil pulling works, and it may be your cure. I used Sesame Oil. Taste was pleasant and had no complications. Hi Kathy: thank you so much for your wonderful reply. I am so grateful that you took the time to send me a detailed reply. God bless you always for being so caring. Just so you know, i am on thyroid meds for two months now but prior to that before my diagonosis, i felt like i was going to die. I never felt so horrible all my life especially when my heart would start racing for no reason. The sad part was that i looked normal on the outside so no one not even my doctor seemed to care. Did you have similar symptoms when you were off your meds and if so, how did you function all those years without meds? I would like to know because i dont ever want to feel the way i felt when i was undiagnosed. Thats why i am scared to go off meds even though i hate being a patient like you said. If you can give me some helpful hints on how to wean off, and what supplements besides idoral i can use to help i would be willing to try it. As for the books, i would definitely buy them. Thank you so very much.

Sesame Oil

Hi, Loren. Well, I really wasn't on thyroid hormone for that long...only three or four months, maybe...and I just stopped taking them because I got so angry at the doctor for being such an uncaring jerk. I was miserable, too. My TSA was 7.5, and to the doctor, that was no big deal (although I learned later on that a TSA of 7.5 is VERY high) but by all the CLINICAL signs, I was extremely hypothyroid...the whole laundry list of signs and symptoms. So as I said, I got really p----d off at the doctor and told him to go jump in the lake. In all seriousness, I don't know how I got through all those years of hypothroidism...just endured, I guess.

As for how you should go about getting off the thyroid meds, I'm not sure what to say. The way I did it (going cold turkey) probably isn't the best way to do it, and I wonder if you could find a naturopathic physician, or even a well-educated chiropracter, to help you figure out a weaning-off schedule, because you'll want to slowly add the iodine as you slowly cut down on the meds...doing both at the same time...cutting down meds WHILE AT THE SAME TIME adding iodine. And if your doctor is as uncaring as you say, then you might want to give him the boot anyway. The doctor that I had was the same way...when thyroid hormone didn't work for me, and I was so miserable that I broke down crying in his office, he said I needed Prozac...I said something like, "I don't think so, Scooter."

As for other sources of iodine...bladderwrack, kelp, dulse, nori and all other seaweeds are high in iodine. Artichokes can be a good source because they are grown near the ocean, and sea food can be a good source, as is Celtic Sea Salt (but NOT refined sea salt...the sea salt has to be grey in color to contain iodine). Kelp capsules might help, or you can get kelp powder for about $6.00 per pound and put it in capsules yourself. And there are many kinds of iodine supplements besides Iodoral...your health-food store people ought to be able to help you find something that is both inexpensive and effective. But one thing you might also want to do is remove all the ANTI-thyroid factors from your life. Remove all soy, eat only limited amounts of unfermented cabbage-family veggies. Remove all...and I mean ALL...bromated products from your diet: no bromated flour, no chocolate, no bottled ice teas. And remove as much fluoride from your life as possible: no fluoride toothpaste, no orange juice from concentrate, etc. If your water is fluorodated, there probably isn't much you can do about it, because it is very hard to filter out...but take the fluoride in your life down to an absolute minimum.

p.s. I think just having other people to talk to about these things helps alot. Feeling like you are not alone is some of the best medicine there is, and I am grateful to Earth Clinic for providing this forum.

p.p.s. I am taking one Iodoral tablet a day these now...that is my maintainance dose.

For Loren from Queens:

Hello Loren,

Weaning yourself off medicines is fairly easy if they are not slow release tablets, capsules or other hard to evenly divide forms when wanting to wean oneself off, (some heart mecications taken once a day are slow release). For a medication taken once a day, if not a slow release, break tablets taken into halves and take that 1/2 dosage at scheduled times for 2-3 days, then break those l/2 tablets into halves again and take l/2 at scheduled times for 2 or 3 days(you are now down to taking l/4 of original dosage). Next you can start decreasing the number of doses every 2-3 days until you quit them completely. If this is confusing, EC can give you my e-mail address or if EC has your telephone number and it is ok with you for them to share it, I can call you.

There is a couple of things I recommend that you start before or at least at the same time you start weaning off the medicine. Your thyroid gland cannot function properly if you don't give it the nutrients it needs. So get yourself a good stress tablet and take 1 tablet at meal times and at bedtime. This is just a B complex vitamins C & E, neither of which should harm you or interfere with other medications (one patient did have to halve her thyroid replacement and another patient's bijeminy pulse converted to a perfectly normal rhythm with this regimen). Another mineral that helps regulate the heart rate (and a does a lot of other things in the body) is magnesium. For rapid replacement and results go to EC's "transdermal magnesium chloride" and start it at the same time.

If you aren't already hep on excitotoxins, research these on line, and try to eliminate all monosodium glutamate (MSG) and aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal), the 2 major excitotoxins from your foods and drinks. When you look at all the names MSG is hidden under in the ingredients lists, you will find one or both of them in most every processed foods. Keep an eye on Washington and let your Washington legislators know that you want them to vote against Codex Alimentarius, which would let the FDA drop ingredient lists from all our foods, remove identification of GMO fruits and vegetables and make record keeping for organic farmers and small family farms as to put them out of business, among other things undesireable concerning our access to vitamins, minerals, nutritional information, supplements and herbals.

Hi Kathy: thank you so much for all the wonderful advice. I am so grateful for all the caring people on this site. Who needs therapy when you have earth clinic(smile). Dear Joyce: thank you so much for yr response. I am so amazed at all the caring people at Ec. God bless you guys always. In regards to weaning off my meds - i am currently on T3/T4 but a very small dose. However, these are in capsule form and they are slow release. I do understand the whole weaning process the way you explained it but since my case is different how do i go about doing it? Also, i am currently on vit E(800iu) b12 injections ( once weekly) vit c(2000mg) daily. Also i rarely eat anything packaged and i try to eat organic when i can afford to. The strange thing though is that even though i am on meds for my thyroid, try to eat healthy and take my supplements , i still don't have any stamina. For example i can't do even a little gardening without feeling as though i am going to pass out. I was always a high energy person so this is so frustrating and scary. Also, i have done every test possible and everything is normal. My doc did mentioned that my adrenals were stressed. Do you think this could cause all these strange symptoms? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much.

I have been wondering about that...about your adrenals, that is...because low adrenal function and hypothyroidism often go together. I cured myself of low adrenal function by taking high doses of Vitamin C (6,000mg per day), Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5) and drinking salted water. It is my belief that the salted water is what did the trick, though. Sodium is critical for adrenal health, and the "healthy" low-salt diet fad (along with stress and drinking too much water) is causing an epidemic of hypo-adrenalism, as well as...I believe...the epidemic of GERD, because without enough Chloride (from SodiumChloride...SALT) in their diet, how are people supposed to makE enough hydrochloride acid?

At any rate, when I was hypoadrenal, I couldn't drink water...drinking water made me feel like I had to vomit, and I would always pee it all out within 5 minutes or so. I began to suspect that I had low adrenal function because I would get lightheaded if I stood up suddenly, and I happened to read somewhere about drinking salted water to improve adrenal function, so I decided to give it a try. The article said to put enough salt in the water so that it tastes good...to let your taste buds be your guide...so that is what I did, and it really helped. I did that for quite a while, while taking lots of Vitamin C and Pantothenic Acid, and I have been feeling normal for a couple of years now. Long story short, I treated my hypothyroidism and hypoadrenalism at the same time and am much better for it. I think that alot of modern health advice (that low-salt diets are good for everyone, for instance) is simply wrong.

p.s. about 6 months ago I tapered off the 6,000mg/day of Vitamin C and now take 2,000mg/day, and I also no longer need to salt my water every day. I am also now on a maintainance dose of Pantothenic Acid.

I take one Iodoral tablet per day now.

One Iodoral tablet contains 5mg of Iodine plus 7.5mg of Iodide (as Potassium Iodide), for a total of 12.5mg Iodine/Iodide combination per tablet.

Kathy, thank you for your great post! I think your information will be very helpful for healing people the natural way. Would you mind posting how you healed your hypothyroidism too. Thank you! Also, what kind of vitamin C did you take? How much B-5 and could you give a hint of where you purchased your B-5 or the brand. And what type of salt did you use. Again, thank you so much for your wonderful help it is very appreciated!

Sesame Oil
Posted by Kathy (Dubois, Pa) on 09/22/2009

Well, I already made several posts on how I healed myself from hypothyroidism, which you can find if you go back through the older posts in this thread. As for the amount of B-5, at first I took 500mg 3 times per day. After I got to feeling better I cut back to 500mg twice per day, and now I take 500mg once per day. As far as the kind of salt, any kind of unrefined salt will do...either Celtic Sea Salt or that pink salt from Utah (sorry, its a brand name). I also think any kind of buffered Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate, Sodium Ascorbate, etc) will work. But don't forget, you have to work out your own dosages, which will be according to your own situation.

p.s. One really inexpensive way to get Sodium Ascorbate is to buy Ascorbic Acid Powder and mix it with Baking Soda (NOT baking powder). Put 1/2 teaspoonful of Ascorbic Acid Powder and 1/4 teaspoonful of Baking Soda in a cup. Add water and stir until it stops foaming. The Ascorbic Acid reacts with the Baking Soda to form Sodium Ascorbate, a buffered, highly absorbable form of Vitamin C.

I had posted a previous testimony about oil pulling. I had been told by a health practitioner that I probably had a low thyroid about 2 years ago. He gave me some detoxified iodine and said take it for a year until I felt better. I slowly forgot to take it and haven't for about a year and a half. I feel like I should of kept up with the iodine because over the past month I have taken seaweed every day for the iodine content. I can truly say I feel 100% better. Thank you for mentioning that low thyroid could be the cause of my problems. I'll definitely continue with the iodine.

What you're describing is an onset of intense detox. This is not unusual for many of the natural remedies here on this site hence why so many people caution to go slowly. I eat very healthily, try to stick to organic for the most part, eat close to the earth and don't use any drugs or medication. Still, upon taking apple cider vinegar last December without much thought after purchasing the one with the mother from Whole Foods, I went home after work with it and took a capful in water. That night I woke up with a raging headache, chills and fever throbbing neck pain and immediately I knew that what I was experiencing was a major detox. Basically, it is best to try to let the detox occur instead of masking it with other drugs, etc. That's why it's best to move slowly. By going back on medications you are creating more toxins in the body. Also, be aware that they are finding a lot of connection between candida and chronic fatigue. Do research and learn how to move through the symptoms (lots of water, rest, alkaline foods, etc.) The phlegm that comes out is poison trying to get out of the body and is what causes much havoc through the body. Chinese medicine has lot to say about phlegm and what it can do to the body. You really want to encourage that to come out. When I worked with H2O2, the amounts of mucus that exited my body- well, you don't even want to go there! I cannot believe how great I feel though since that detox. I have loads of energy, my skin is clear and I don't have to constantly clear my throat as I used to. Now, I'm on oil pulling and that is miraculous in and of itself. I wish you the best in your exploration and research.

Try saving plastic bags from your grocery store. You simply spit into them, tie them up and toss into the trash. You can also place a cheap box of dollar-store zip lock sandwich bags in the bathroom. I so enjoy doing it, 1-2 times a day, mostly 1 with sesame oil. I have not noticed much of anything. NO mucus which i thought i would have noticed since I quit smoking 5 weeks ago. I have arthritis and do not want to go on medication. How long before I start to notice changes and also- what is the importance of pulling on an empty stomach. I started oil pulling about 3 weeks ago (sesame seed oil) for a severe sinus infection that was effecting my upper teeth on the left side. The first 2 weeks I did it 3 times a day, but then I cut back to twice a day, morning and night. At first, it really seemed to help with the sinus and tooth pain, but now, not so much. I still have the sinus and tooth pain but I feel just awful, I have nausea, feel very weak and tired , a bit of anxiety,,,no appetite...today I have pains in the upper back, on both sides... is this from the oil pulling? I wanted to continue it, because it does seem to be improving the sinus, tooth pain, but I don't know if this is detox effects or something else... anyone else have these symptoms when first starting, Thanks, Redd78

Currently, I take Armour thyroid (for hypothyroidism) every morning after oil pulling. I have had no adverse effects. I have more energy and better skin (I think that deep line between my eyes is lessening). I am still waiting to see my teeth get whiter. Overall, I am happy so far with the results.

I hope this remark doesn't mean that my response isn't "fit to print" but honestly, doctors and dentists are such morons! Tooth pain is often caused by sinus problems, and that foamy white color IS a sign of infection...from the color, it sounds like a yeast over-growth. If you got relief with the neti pot, keep using it on a regular, frequent basis and I bet your tooth pain will be permanently gone before too long.

Wanda, My husband and I have been oil pulling for several months with fantastic results i.e. improved gums, sensitivity, etc.. We use 1 TBL per day for 5 to 7 days per week. I think 3 X per day may be too much for you as the OP is detoxing and my guess is that the symptoms you are experiencing may be from the detox. I would drop down to 1 X per day to slow down the detox.

I did oil pulling - and still am continuing to do it - for the past month now. At first I used el cheapo sesame oil, which was gross, and then changed to organic olive oil, which was even more unpleasant. Now i have organic sesame oil and I use 1 tablespoon every morning. I havent been sick in the past month, even in the middle of a very cold winter for New Zealand. I havent noticed any other huge differences, but I follow an organic vegan diet normally and dont think my body has many toxins to get rid of! I like to also use positive visualization of toxins and bugs entering the oil as I am pulling it, which is just a nice way to stay the day! I would definately recommend people to try this and become the evidence in its favour!

Chrissy, try using half a teaspoon of oil and pull for about 5 minutes at first. Eventually, you will get used to the oil doubling with saliva in your mouth. Try using sesame oil and coconut together. Then build up to a T. I have used olive oil but I prefer the lightness of the other two. Once you get used to it your mouth will feel like velvet. Don't forget to rinse and gargle with salt water to remove toxins still remaining in your mouth. The benefits are many.

1. Lower the number of bellies.
2. Lower water drinking during the day (less saliva).

Absolutely try the sesame oil, cold pressed or otherwise. Then next time try to find a lighter oil and try that to see the difference. I have found that warm sesame oil is one of the best things for a toothache too. Better yet, boil sesame seeds in water until the water is reduced to half, then apply the sesame seed mixture to the toothache area and you will experience no pain for up to 6 hours

I am amazed by op i can lay on my left side and my heart feels like its brand new!! BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS

I have been oil pulling for seven days now (first 3 days with EVOO, and the last 4 days with cold pressed sesame oil). Today, after oil pulling, washing my mouth out the with baking soad, sea salt, and warm water combintion, I immediately brushed my teeth with olive oil soap and flossed. In addition, I scraped my tongue (with a metal scrapper) which I don't do too often. Well, after I had done all that I blew my nose and was shocked to see blood coming out of my left nostril! I have never experienced a nose bleed in my entire life (40 years old). Do you think I just blew too hard or is this a cleansing reaction from the oil pulling?

I too have experienced some positive results ever since oil pulling: my chronic bad breath is much improved; my arm pits don't stink anymore; and an old injury in my left arm resurfaced (with pain for 2 days) only to be now healed hopefully for good. I know I have a long way to go to cleanse my entire body. I always thought that the only true way to remove toxins quickly was by fasting, but I am so happy to have now found another way of doing it (while still enjoying food)! Thank you so much Earth Clinic and a big thank you to all of the people who have posted their feedbacks, as I found their comments enlightening. Best wishes to everyone on this site.

I started oil pulling 3 weeks ago with Sesame Oil. At first I was absolutely disgusted by the consistency and could barely keep it in my mouth for 3 minutes. The next day I tried again and was able to swish for about 7 minutes. Everyday the process became easier and easier and now I'm up to 15 minutes. It has not taken away the dark circles under my eyes, my allergies are the worst they've ever been, and my energy has not improved BUT I have definitely noticed that my teeth are extremely clean and feel absolutely amazing. The horribly bad breath (which I attribute to several years on antibiotics) that plagued me has completely disappeared. Clean teeth and fresh breath are reasons enough for me to continue oil pulling and hopefully after a few months I will reap the benefits that others speak of.

Yes! it worked for me. 1 tbsp of sesame oil each morning. It absolutely clears all cravings for things you don't want to do, except spurred on by bad choice of food, hence watch your food at least for two weeks, that is if you really want to/ (just) 'want' to quit smoking/ addiction. Because oil pulling does 3/4 of the work. The only problem i encountered was the thought of cigarettes, especially when i see others smoke. In my thinking thats an iota of the real struggle people lament about in dealing with old habits.

You see this was even the first time i tried to quit and it made it feel so easy. In short, i think oil pulling corrects abnormalities in your body and makes you normal. Big two thumbs! up to Earth clinic. I don't know what the big companies are really doing, when the amazing medications lie in the very simple things of life. Thank you for your service on behalf of the world.

Just a note myself to say that I have started trying the oil pulling myself today..with organic sesame oil..I have already experienced some relief from sore tongue due to biting my tongue in my sleep (waking up with a start and biting my tongue so bad it bleeds.) I know that's crazy ! ! Anyway after just one use my tongue is not so sore anymore..I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't experienced it..Have deep amalgum filings, however, that are probably 25 years old...guess if they come out, I'll have to deal with that...maybe i can get less toxic filings then.. I know i have tasted periodically that metallic taste in my mouth and couldn't figure out the cause..finally read here that it may be the mercury in my filings.

Also I have tried the Turmeric for boils and that has worked great for me. It starts to subside after taking just one dose and continues to dry up..

I love this web site..I know there are better cures than what our doctors try to give us..it's medicate or cut...don't like that.. God bless to all out there trying to find help ! ! !

I just discovered this site today, but wanted to share my experience. I read about oil pulling two months ago and thought it would be good to try for painful tooth that 3 dentists gave me 3 different diagnoses on. Bought a large bottle of pure sesame oil and pulled three mornings in a row with one tablespoon of oil. On the third day I noticed I had a slight sore throat. Two days later that was followed by what appeared to be the flu for four days (I now know that was the Herkximer reaction). The curious thing is I had no fever or digestive compliants the entire time of said "flu" - bad nasal congestion, eyes hurt like a headache and horrible coughing. When it was over I noticed that I was able to chew on the left side of my mouth which I had not been able to do for a few months! Was it the oil pulling? I seriously suspect so. If you were a bad microbe and could not produce your own food, where would you choose to live in the human body? Close to where the food comes in, right?

First, I am so glad I found Earth Clinic and read all your posts. I am so grateful with the person who shared the oil pulling technique with me and told me to google. All my life, I asked dentists why they didn't help us with something that help prevent having cavities and root canals. I have already shared the info with my family and friends as this is a valuable health protecting method.

I have been oil pulling for the last 4-5 days with Sesame oil and I believe it is working. For the first couple of days, I would spit all white mix with the saliva but now, it has become yellow and I wonder why. I think someone else had the same feedback.
I am learning so much on oils that I didn't know and I don't want to get side-tracked and confused with all the different oils. I will stay on my sesame oil as i love the taste.

Also, I would like to ask Ted this question. I have some oral cleansing products to cleanse heavy metal they're from a well known online company (I had them for over a year and I am worried they might expire) is there a problem if I start using them while oil pulling?

Today was the first day I felt side effects: noise bothered me and I feel very stressed out and maybe it is just my work but I wonder if the results of the oil pulling aren't showing up.

I have sinus issues, I am better with a diet without wheat and have at time used Adamo blood type diet but I always get back eating food with gluten. I hope oil pulling will help sucking some of the mucus created by gluten. Also, honey this product known healthy has bothered my stomach made me sick often and I wonder if oil pulling will cure my allergy to honey.

I'm not sure what effect sesame oil gives when you take it (swallow it- Is that what you mean by taking it?).

Try Oil Pulling- but don't swallow it- it's pulling the toxins out your body..

Here is how it's done:

Step1:
First thing in the morning on an empty stomach and before drinking any liquids (including water), pour exactly one tablespoon of sunflower or sesame oil (or whatever oil you have chosen) into your mouth.
Step 2:
Swish the oil around in your mouth without swallowing it. Move it around in your mouth and through your teeth, as if it was mouthwash (don't tilt your head back to gargle though). You'll find that the oil will start to get watery as your saliva mixes with it. Keep swishing. If your jaw muscles get sore while swishing, you're putting too much into it. Relax your jaw muscles and use your tongue to help move the liquid around the inside of your mouth. When you do this correctly, you'll feel very comfortable. Pretty soon, it will become second nature.
Step3:
As the end of the oil pulling session approaches, you may notice the oil/saliva mixture in your mouth has become thicker. This is quite normal, since it is pulling out toxins from your body. When 20 minutes is up, spit out the oil into the toilet. Don't be alarmed if it looks yellowish--this is also normal.
Step4:
Rinse out your mouth a couple of times with warm water and spit into the toilet. Rinse and spit with a good mouthwash. I prefer to dilute with water (or use full strength), regular hydrogen peroxide and I rinse and spit with that. The hydrogen peroxide is very effective in rinsing out any toxins which may be left in the mouth.

I have a bad tooth and it was swollen and painful. I did a search and came across the oil pulling site. I began at once with sesame oil. My tooth resolved immediately. But I continued. I got so sick I thought I was going to die. Thank God I was off of work for 2 1/2 weeks but my kids came to visit. I had an incredibly high fever, and turned very pale and so sick I should have not been out of bed. I could not even dress. My head had never hurt so horribly bad. I continued with the oil pulling for 3 times per day. Then as I was getting well, after about 7 days, it was really odd that I began expelling from my mouth in the form of mucous, but not ordinary mucous. It was light, airy, and foamy as I had never experienced before. I expelled this nasty stuff by the kleenex fulls. I continued and got better, my color came back to my face and I felt extremely better. My friend commented that my back by my lungs looked a lot smaller as though I had lost a lot of weight. I now can breathe and seem to be very healthy. I continue to use the oil pulling but only sesame about 3 to 4 times per week but only one time per day. I have wonderful skin and no more nasty dry cracked heels. Thank you for supplying this secret that has helped me regain my health. God Bless You!!!

Oil-Pulling (remedy) for allergies (ailment):

I started oil-pulling with Sesame oil about 3 months ago. It took a little while to get used to 1 whole Tablespoon of oil for 15-20 minutes, but I just did my normal morning routine while oil-pulling. I have not had to take any prescription allergy medications that I usually took at least a few times per month or when pollen counts were very high in my area. I oil-pull every morning when I wake up without fail and find that I have increased energy and no allergies.

I have noticed my facial pores have become smaller and my skin looks clearer than before and I don't feel very tired which I usually do. I have not dared step on the weighing machine as I would like to continue all this for another three months and then check my weight. I am on the higher side. My query is I am living in India and I got of apple cider vinegar by some company called American Garden, U.S.A. It is not organic. I would like to know whether it has to be organic or any natural one will do. I have found this website to be truly enlightening and useful. Keep up the good work!!!!

Sandhya, you can also order it from bragg.com. It is a great organic, raw, unfiltered ACV. I'm not sure what the shipping is but I'm sure you'll be ordering enough to make it worth it.

I've been Oil Pulling for 3 days now. I use unrefined sesame oil for 20 minutes each evening (I cant stomach it in the mornings). First and foremost I noticed my my teeth are several shades whiter already. My energy increased for the first 2 days, however today I am feeling slight nausea, however I understand this might be due to the cleansing. NOW, the most amazing thing I noticed today was that the glands at the base of my neck which have been swollen for approx 9 mos have completely disappeared!! I was recenlty diagnosed HIV+ and was told the glands would pretty much always be swollen for the rest of my life...however today they are gone at the base of my neck and the ones under my chin are about half as big as they were over the previous 9 months. I AM AMAZED! I HAVE NO REASON TO MAKE THIS UP! Do I think it will cure HIV? NO. However something big is happening here. My next appointment to check my HIV viral load is in about 30 days, I will let you know the results!!!

I was reading about home remedies for a nasty sinus infection from CPAP machine I use for my sleep apnea. I read about the Apple Cider Vinegar and then about oil pulling. I just finished going to the store and getting both. I did the sesame oil and my non-stop nasel dripping ceased before my 15 minutes were up. Coincidence? I'm pretty excited. Also, I couldn't even breath through my nose because it was too painful, and that dissappeared at all. So cool. Thanks! (I have some ACV with tea coming up next. :)

Steve from Tacoma, WA, my husband has very bad sinus/allergy problems and I am hoping to get him to try ACV and OPing. I hope that he will see the positive results I am having, but I will definitely share your post with him as well. As long as I've known him (7 years) he has had difficulty breathing through his nose, especially at night, and has snoring issues as well. Thanks for sharing!

I have been anemic for 2 and half years now. I was told to take Iron pills. Well they didnt work one bit. Luckily I found this website while trying to find a natural cure for kydney damage and pancreatitis and came across the oil pulling. I read about it and even went to different sites to find out if it was true. Well everything I found sounded amazing so I went out and bought the sesame oil. The first day I took it I felt just a little better. The second day I felt 95% better than i've felt in a long time. I also had blood work done a few days ago and found out I am no longer anemic and not only that but my lipase enzyme levels were back to normal. All this change within a month. I absolutely swear by the oil pulling.

I have practised oil pulling for about 6 months. I did this only once a day: in the morning before brushing my teeth.

The immediate benefit I enjoyed was that the bloating of my stomach stopped. My teeth has not become whiter as many people on this website reported. But my breath has become very pleasant in the morning. When I ran out of sesame oil and did not do my oil pulling, I did notice my breath becoming slightly smelly in the morning. This condition instantly reversed itself as soon as I started oil pulling in the morning again.

I use only 3/4 tbsp. of organic sesame oil and brush my teeth afterwards.

After reading Ted's and other people's entries. I will now definitely try brushing my teeth first BEFORE oil pulling. I find the reasons given totally credible.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Deirdre, Ted in Bangkok and all those who write in for this website! I will report back.

oil pulling sesame oil. after reading on your site about oil pulling March 2008; I tried it and it worked wonders for my fibromyalgia pain. I used the recommened amount 2 tblsp; swissed it around in my mouth for 15 minutes, spit it out, brushed my teeth and drank two glasses of water. I have tmj--i did not think i would be able to do this for 15 minutes due to jaw pain but after 2 1/2 minutes my jaw pain left. The stiffness, pain and soreness in my body was gone before the 15 minutes was up. I have been suffering from fibromyalgia since 1991 and this is the only thing I have tried that gave me immediately relief. Today I sent my sister-in-law who lives in Louisiana a large bottle of sesame oil. Bless you and I thank you and your readers so much. willia

I have been OP for 1 month,1 tab of sesame oil daily, with great success. My teeth are white and my chronic sore tongue is no longer sore, my gums and teeth are pink not white any longer. My Question concerns a tooth extraction I will be having in 2 days. Is OP a good idea after this extraction or should I wait for it to heal over about a week? Carol

I've done OP for only a week, each morning with sesame oil, and I was surprised to see that the little bit of eczema on my hand which included an open cut has been disappearing as if I was using a prescription cream which I haven't. The cut has closed over and all that's left is some dry skin, it's not red like it was. I've also noticed, my skin in general, ie. on my face is more soft and moisturized and my hands and face are less pale. Also, I would my mentality feels more alert.

I have been Oil Pulling for 3 weeks now with no noticable changes except for shiny teeth when I am done. I have KP on my upper arms and it is still there. I am using expelled sesame oil. Since I have been doing it this long, I will continue for a few months. I am trying to decide if I should change the oil I am using after a full month. Possibly coconut oil..

I did the oil pooling therapy with a top quality organic sesame oil last year for about 8 weeks, all I gaind was a very bad acid refulx, which I never ever had in my life. It took me half a year to cure it, I will never do pooling again

First of all, it's pulling, not pooling. Secondly, you shouldn't have stopped doing it. Obviously your body was detoxifying and getting rid of disease you didn't know you had (yet). Had you continued, eventually your body would have healed with the oil pulling.

I was like you in the beginning, my gag reflex wouldn't allow me to keep the oil in my mouth for longer than 5 min. But after about 2 months of no oil pulling and watching my boyfriend continue his routine of it, i started it again. Make sure you are using cold pressed organic sesame oil refined. It does make a difference. Also slowly work your way up to 15-20 min. It also helps to do something while you are swishing... like watch tv or check your email.
