Gallbladder Flush

I had my first gall bladder attack in November 2009. I knew what it was because all the women in my family have had their gall bladders removed. Ultrasound revealed that my gall bladder was completely filled with sludge and stones, but it was not enlarged or inflamed. I was told by two doctors that surgery was my only option. I refused and went the natural route. I went on a strict low fat diet, lots of fruits and veggies, veggie juices, chicken, turkey and fish. My only fat was olive oil. This helped a lot but I still had occasional colic attacks in the middle of the night and belching after eating. I went through a period of acid reflux (2 tbs. ACV and honey in warm water took care of it). Then I shifted to not digesting my food at all and throwing it up 6 hours after eating. That was awful. It prompted me to visit a chiropractor/nutritionist who was very into herbal treatment for health conditions. He has been a God send. He gave me digestive enzymes which immediately took care of the problem. He started me on liquid herbs (Milk Thistle, Stone Root, and Fringe Tree) 30 drops each, 3x/day to start dissolving the stones and thinning out the sludge. I also took spirulina, and aloe vera. After six weeks on this regimen, I did my first liver/gall bladder flush (Dr. Clarke's) and passed about 40 bright green stones, most were pea sized, a few were larger. However, I didn't notice much improvement in the way I felt. I took a break for a week then went back on the herbs and did another flush about three weeks later. I passed another 15 or so green stones, same size range. Then, I passed what I can only describe as rocks. Smaller, beige colored, calcified stones (about 20 or so). It was unbelievable. After this flush, the belching and the night attacks went away, except for two nights when I felt pressure (not pain) just enough to wake me, but didn't last long. I just completed my third flush today and passed 43 more stones. I will continue to flush until all the stones are out. I truly believe that you can cleanse and heal your gall bladder, but you have to be diligent through the process and willing to make long term changes in your diet. I have also lost weight, which is a nice benefit to my new healthy diet. FYI - The flush is easy and painless. You just have to set aside an entire day for it. Another tip for gall bladder attacks- a glass of organic apple juice and a heating pad usually relieves an attack within an hour.

I had my gallbladder removed in 1997 - full of stones including some that looked like "tater tots" (no kidding)
My question(s): does the body still produce these in the absence of the gallbladder? if so how and where? How are these things best eliminated? What benefits might I see if I were to follow such a cleanse? (if neede due to not having the gallbladder in the 1st place)What would be the best of the kazillion cleanses out there for such a situation (IF needed). I'm doing the ACV with baking soda, blackstrap molasses, and coconut oil already - only recently however (about a week or so now).

Thanks,
Pat

Thanks for the post...

Gallstones Pain Nausea = Nightmare!

My first gallbladder attack came on abruptly in my early twenties. I had just started school at San Diego State University. I was running to class, dodging gi-normous sheets of rain (this was in the late 90s during the infamous El Niño storms). Out of nowhere, a flood of nausea welled up from my solar plexus and I found myself doubled over. The pain was so sharp and sudden that it practically knocked the wind out of me. My boyfriend just stared at me wide-eyed and panic-stricken. After about 5 minutes, I recovered enough to make it to class, but afterward I was totally freaked out, because... I mean, what the heck WAS that?

The bouts of pain and nausea continued over the next week, and by then I was seriously tripping. All I could think was that 1. something was really, really wrong...like on an internal-organ-level, which was not something I'd ever imagined or had to deal with before, and 2. I didn't have health insurance.

So, I did the only thing I could think of at the time that my starving-student-budget would allow: I went to an urgent care center. The doctor there looked me over in hurried-urgent-care-doctor fashion and asked me 20 (or more) questions. He had the nurse give me a cup of what he called a "G.I. cocktail" which was some gooey white stuff that seemed to sort of numb my insides in a way that felt as weird as it tasted. Then he told me that, from what I'd just described, although he couldn't properly diagnose it without an ultrasound, he guessed that I had gallstones. He said that once you have them, the only way to get rid of them is by having your gallbladder surgically removed. He gave me prescriptions for an ultrasound and some Vicodin, neither of which I got filled because I couldn't afford to.

As soon as I got home, I started researching my condition on the internet. Surprisingly, I discovered that there were alternative perspectives of the disease ("I have a disease?"), its origins and how to treat it. It was pretty fascinating stuff, actually. My looming despair began to lighten to cautious optimism. Thus was my first foray into the world of alternative/holistic medicine and philosophy, where I still live to this day.

One remedy I discovered online at the time was Hulda Clark's olive oil/lemon gallbladder cleanse. I decided to go for it. I had no insurance and no money for conventional medical treatment, so why the ~hail~ not (sorry for the obscure El Niño joke :).

I followed the cleanse instructions as precisely as I could. I downed my olive oil/orange juice mixture and went straight to bed (per the instructions), overwhelmed by the competing emotions I was feeling all at once:

*** Scared ***
"What if this makes things worse and I end up in the emergency room?"

*** Skeptical ***
"It's probably a bunch of BS. Who am I to question the medical establishment's prognosis of a serious medical condition by attempting to cure it with some back alley remedy that uses $8 worth of items you can buy at a corner store."

*** Excited/Hopeful ***
"What if it works? I know it's gross, but I kinda can't wait to see what comes out."

Fast-forward to the following morning: O . M . G.

I could hardly believe it. That morning, nature called me out of bed before the sun came up, and I was stunned to see that I had just passed hundreds, I'm talking HUNDREDS of stones... and they were all BLACK. It was one of the grossest things I'd ever encountered. And the coolest. Though the quantity decreased with each round, I continued to pass more stones throughout the morning that averaged about the size of a pea. What a relief it was to know the this cr@p was no longer IN my body. It took a good deal of effort to refrain from broadcasting my experience to everyone I knew, as if they just couldn't wait to hear about the contents of my toilet.

My perspective of the Western Medical establishment was permanently altered that day. Basically, this inexpensive grocery store remedy had done what the urgent care doctor had said was not possible. I do accept that Western Medicine is necessary in some situations, but I generally find it unnecessarily invasive, as well as inadequate in its ability to treat root causes and address the whole person. As a result of my first experience with this liver cleanse home remedy, in addition to the pain and nausea subsiding, my skin cleared up and I began to lose some of the weight I had gained over the previous year. Also, during the several months following I was able to work through a LOT of emotional baggage that I had been mired in for years. From a Holistic point of view this is a perfectly reasonable and complementary side-effect of such a release.

MY LIVER CLEANSE, circa 1997:

* fruit and apple juice for breakfast

* baked potato w/ a little salt only for lunch

* no water or food after 2pm

* that afternoon, prepared solution of 3 Tbs Epsom salt & 3 cups water, stored in a container for later use

* 6pm - drank 3/4 cup of the Epsom salt water and immediately thought, "OMG...this stuff is actually considered fit for human consumption?"

* 8pm - drank 3/4 cup more of epsom salt water, "Yecht!"

* 10pm - juiced 3 medium sized oranges & combined with 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil. Took it to my bedside in a plastic lidded container. Shook it several times and then drank it fairly quickly, as I expected it to be disgusting. Actually, it wasn't so bad... the Epsom salt was way worse!

* proceeded to lie completely still face up on my bed for 30 minutes and then somehow allowed myself to drift off to sleep

* the instructions say to take another 3/4 cup dose of Epsom salt when you wake up the next morning, but NOT before 6am, then take the remainder 2 hours later. That morning I woke up before 6am and started passing stones right away. A little later, I tried to take another dose of Epsom salt water, but I only ended up drinking about 1/2 of it until I convinced myself that the cleanse was already working and, therefore, that was a good enough excuse to avoid drinking the rest of that nasty concoction. I should mention, however, that in subsequent cleanses, I have followed the instructions more thoroughly, and the results are worth enduring the taste in the end.

The instructions I've seen for this same cleanse have been slightly modified since then, and these days can be found @ http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp

I've tried variations of the cleanse with varying degrees of success.

In conclusion, YEA for me.

Gallstones - Liver / Gallbladder Flush

If you have gallstones, this WORKS! Absolutely. Follow the protocol and you will get relief and be stronger afterwards. I had to go to the ER at 4AM several months ago because of a gallstone attack. Dr. recommended surgery. I tried this instead and DANG if it didn't flush out over 400 stones and MAN I feel better. No more food allergies, breathing better no more reflux. It's a blessing =)!

Used the following protocol:

*Over 4 days, Consumed 1 gallon of organic, cold pressed Apple Juice (in a glass bottle).
*Ate 1 organic apple each day of the cleanse, between breakfast and lunch
*Day of cleanse (5th day) --- Fresh, organic fruit for breakfast (Watermelon, Figs, Kiwi, Papaya OR grapefruit.. Choose ONE, but eat as much as you want.
*Vegetable soup for lunch with beets, carrots, garlic, onion, turmeric, pinch of sea salt and oregano (liver and gallbladder supporting vegetables)
*3 PM -- 6-8 ounces of walnuts
*5PM & 7PM -- Epsom salt -- one and a half level tablespoons of Epsom salt in 8 ounces of warm, purified water.
*Between 9-10PM -- Olive Oil & Juice -- Drink ¾ cup (6 ounces) of organic cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. A small amount (2 tablespoons) of freshly squeezed orange, grapefruit, or lemon juice may be added to improve the taste (optional). Immediately after drinking the oil, go to bed and lie on your right side with your knees drawn up to your stomach for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, you can stretch out and go to sleep. If you experience cramping, walk around for ten minutes or so and then go back to bed. You may also feel nauseated during the night. This is due to the release of stored toxins from the gallbladder and liver. This is normal and a sign the Liver Gallbladder Cleanse is working.

Works like a blessing =)!! Best of luck to all

I also have done this cleanse and had no ill effects what so ever. Each time I passed 150 - 200 stones of various sizes and colors. It was very easy to do and the one thing I varied slightly....I used about 3/4 of a cup of olive oil and the same of fresh pink grapefruit juice.

WARNING!

I would just like to ad a WARNING. I have read alot about gallbladder cleanses and some insist that you must drink apple juice for a few days before the cleanse and also use epsom salt the day of the cleanse. The reasons for this is the apple juice seems to make the stones soft and mushy and the epsom salt opens up or expands the BILE DUCTS so that the stones don't get stuck.

Research this very GOOD, before making that choice. I don't doubt that you or your family has had sucess doing it your way, but just think everyone should really put alot of thought and planning into doing a gallbladder cleanse. So GOOGLE and research several articles, PLEASE! I wouldn't want someone to be rushed to the emergency room, in pain and a hard stone stuck in their bile duct and have to have an emergency surgery. Again, I do believe you, it's just a personal choice of mine.

Removing gallstones:

Removing gallstones recipe-
3/4 cup virgin olive oil
1/4 cup pure lemon juice

Here is what you do.

Pick a day that you want to do this cleanse. On this day eat and drink anything up until noon only. Do not eat anything after 12 oclock noon, can drink water only. At bedtime, mix together your olive oil and lemon juice, drink it all down. Go right to bed. Lay on your right side with your right knee bent towards
your chest as high as comfortable.T his procedure will cause your gallbladder to contract and expel your gallstones. Your gallstones will start coming out with your next bowel movement. This has helped my aunt and my step father remove gallstones. This mixture doesn't taste real good but it can and probably will work for you.

My disclaimer is that I am not a doctor and I am not prescribing medicine but only sharing the benefits of healthy foods. I am 60 years old and I have done this cleanse myself. Its easy, inexpensive, quick and simple.

My step father experienced a side effect of diarrhea with this but myself and my aunt did not.The diarrhea could happen but not neccessarily, so just be prepared just in case.

4tablespoon Epsom is safe. I'm 62 and one of 8 kids in my family. Any time one of us felt sick or moody my parents would give us at least 4 tablespoon of epsom salt in warm water and then a glass of clean water ( to clean our system out ) we never stayed home from school pretending we were sick. My oldies sister is 68 and my youngest brother is 50 years old and we're still alive, all 8 of us. I hope this help you. Mrs Perry

P.S. Just make sure the stones aren't too big.

Hi Sherry,

I had collated info for my father on the flush from different sources after reading up - there's different protocols out there but they are pretty similar overall. If I recall correctly, the one he followed was this: He drank a lot of apple juice the day before and day of the flush (it's supposed to help soften stones). On the day of the flush he ate light and healthy foods (no fats), and didn't eat anything after about 1 or 2 pm. About 6 pm he drank Epsom salts in distilled water - you mix up about 2-3 tablespoons in 3 cups of water, and drink half that at 6 pm, and the other half at 8 pm. The Epsom salts are to dilate the ducts for easier passage of stones. Sounds really gross but he said it wasn't as bad to drink as you'd figure. You can add some citrus juice to help if the taste is really that bad for you.

At about 10 pm, he drank 2 ounces of olive oil mixed with 2 ounces of FRESHLY SQUEEZED lemon juice (don't use bottled). You need to mix those 2 together very thoroughly - shaking well in a jar with a lid works well - and drink it all down quickly. Go immediately to bed and stay there, and lay on your right side for awhile. At about 6 am, drink some more Epsom salts in water if you can. A couple of hours later you can start taking in some fruit juice, and awhile after you can start to eat again - eat lightly.

You want to take it easy for a day or two and you'll want to be near a bathroom, so do this on a weekend or whenever you have a couple of days off work. I've read that you can repeat it if necessary, but don't do it a third time without waiting a couple of weeks in between. He only did it the one time and has had no problems since, but if he felt any discomfort he'd do it again. As maintenance, he drinks some apple juice regularly and also sips some fresh lemon juice in water. He now takes milk thistle and dandelion root as well, and has cut down on fatty foods.

I'm no doctor and the usual caveats apply here - ask your own doctor about your health concerns, especially if you're on meds or have pre-existing conditions. My dad has serious ones and this didn't harm him a bit (on the contrary, it kept him out of the hospital!), but everyone is different and you need to learn as best you can what is right for you.

I'll add that some protocols I've read have people taking a lot more of the lemon juice and olive oil, repeatedly over a short time. That protocol seems to have more reports of making people vomit (little wonder!). At no time did my dad feel nauseous on the one he did, which uses much less oil/juice. We figured that if it didn't do the whole trick, he could just repeat it. I'd personally rather do it that way than take so much in at once.

My father had his gallbladder removed, but subsequently had incidents requiring hospitalization to remove stones from the bile duct. He has serious heart problems (congestive heart failure, a-fib, majorly blocked arteries) and also takes a ton of meds including blood thinners, which makes things tricky when you need surgical procedures on short notice. Months ago the symptoms began yet again. This time I printed out info on the lemon juice/olive oil flush and he decided to do it. Given his existing health problems I was very guarded, so I kept careful watch, ready to whisk him straight to the hospital if needed. The cleanse went off without incident; he passed some stuff and has not had a symptom since! Did he pass "real" stones? I have no idea. All I know is that he definitely was in the same boat he'd been in several times already and was on course for yet another hospital stay - the flush put a fast and clear stop to it, sparing him another dangerous hospitalization and the painful stomach needles he always has to take for days afterwards to thin the blood back out in a hurry.

That cheap and easy remedy spared him a LOT of pain and trouble and potentially dangerous complications. So say what you will - I know for a fact that IT WORKS. And I (and he) have Earth Clinic to thank, as this is the place I learned about it. This site is so truly a blessing, I could never praise it enough :)

There are stones in the liver as well, maybe you need to do more clenses to remove all the stones. When the liver is purging stones they end up in the gall bladder and then they have to leave the gall bladder.

I have suffered from gallstones and attacks for a couple of years. A friend of mine brought me the gall stone flush recipe 3 days before I was scheduled to have my gallbladder taken out. I figured it was worth a try. I cancelled my appt to have surgery and did the flush instead (epsom salts, apple juice, olive oil and grapefruit juice). The flush worked. I passed hundreds of green stones from lima bean size to small gravel/sand sized. I felt no pain, or nausea at all. The epsom salts (mag. sulfate) do cause diarrea and a cleanse of the system. There was no discomfort in this, just time spent in the bathroom. The cleanse has had no bad side effects at all with me...and I repeat it every 4-6 mos as needed. It does not taste good and swallowing the cocktails is the hardest part. But the flush does work and I recommend it to anyone with gallstone issues.

Now I am reading and understanding that a maint. level of magnesium should be taken daily as that could be the cause for my constant need to re-flush...that along with my diet.

Try the natural methods...it works! Doctors do not know how to make people well...that is not their job, they only treat symptoms to make people feel better. My doctors (other than my naturopath) were baffled that these natural flushes have worked. I don't think they believe me. They keep telling me eventually I will have to take my gallbladder out. My answer is I will do what I can to avoid that as God put my gallbladder in my body for a reason! Doctor's also don't tell you that when your gallbladder is removed, you have a much higher chance of getting intestinal cancer due to the bile dripping constantly into your intestines.

My wife and I do 3 liver and lymph detox's a year at the direction of our anti-aging doctor. It is a 10 day limited fast will lots of minerals and vitimins. I think it is the 3 days of only crucifers that does the detoxing. However, we always end this fast with Hulda Clark's liver flush using epsom salt, olive oil and lemon juice. After several years, we do not get stones, just a little gravel. I presume if we had kidney stones, they too would pass. Lots of apple juice is a player in cleaning up your liver and kidneys.

At church this morning, it was announced that an older lady friend had been taken to a Knoxville hospital last night and sent home with the prognosis of kidney stones. I gave her son in law Earth Clinic's web site, but am not optomestic that she will use the lemon juice and olive oil cure. It's too cheap and simple. I could expound for hours on how this site had helped us . Especially in addressing Demodex mites and sinus congestion. That story also repulses most folks. The solution must come from Big Pharma.

... To the person who might be breaking up gall stones in the liver and being in a lot of pain passing those stones, it is a good thing to pass those stones. I passed a lot of them at once, and immediately my energy level increased. Now I understand what is meant by a sluggish liver. But I passed all those stones, hundreds of them in one evening, by using a liver cleanse. There are many of them described on the internet. I found one that used lemon juice, olive oil, grapefruit juice and Epsom salt. I took this at night, woke up in the morning and passed all those stones painlessly, and lost about 3" on my waist overnight. I know that because I had to tighten my belt. The Epsom salt (food-grade) apparently relaxes the muscles enough to open the ducts to allow the stones to pass out easily. I was amazed at their size...

My son was involved in a road accident about 7 years ago, was in coma for months and like a vegetable thereafter. After prologned physio, family efforts and God's will, he is today about 85 to 90% recovered. However, probably due to a PEG in his stomach (through which we use to feed him mashed food as he could not respond at that time), he seems to have developed gallstones. Four months ago he had severe gallstone pain (attack?) and later was diagnosed for pancreatitis also, hospitalised, and after stabilising, an ERCP performed on him. Now the doctors want to remove his gall bladder.

I read about the Liver cleanse and would like him to try it. What stops me is the Epsom salts - they are magnesium sulphate. Four tablespoon Epsom would be 40gm or nearabouts (at-least 10gm of magnesium) while our daily recommended magnesium is about 250-400 milligram. Can anybody tell me if it is safe to take internally such a large dose of magnesium sulphate over a couple of hours, and if anyone has had any side effects (hypermagnesium or some such thing)?
Thanks for the help.

The Dr. said my gallbladder was packed full of gallstones and I would need surgery to remove it. I have really gotten into herbal remedies and so I started look for an alternative. I found Dr. Clark's book, THE CURE FOR ALL DISEASES and it was a Godsend. Dr. Clark says the stones come from the liver and settle in the gallbladder. Her book gives 4 major cleanses that she says are the best things you can do for your body. The 3d one is the liver cleanse which starts with the gallbladder. She says to do the parasite and kidney cleanse first to keep it from affecting the liver cleanse. Dr Clark says the liver manufactures bile which we need to properly digest our food and acts as a filter to remove toxins from our body. She says when the gallbladder is full, so is the liver. Dr. Clark recommends doing the liver cleanse every two weeks for up to a year to get all the stones out. On the third cleanse I realized every two weeks was too much for me so (I'm 58) I am now cleansing once a month. But, I am getting excellent results! With every cleanse (I've done 7 so far) I'm passing over 100 stones about the size of a BB on average and hundreds more tiny stones about the size of grains of sand AND the bile is starting to flow again, digesting my food much better! I have pics I've taken of the gallstones if anyone wants me to email them. I am also keeping a diary of my cleanses too. I go to an herb store for the ingredients for the cleanses.

A friend's wife did this cleanse and passed over 200 gallstones. He gave it to his father in law in Orlando and he is 72 years old. He passed a bunch and went to his doctor and his gallbladder was perfectly clear. He had another doctor to examine him with the same results. Me, I am using Apple Cider Vinegar the name is _______ and it is organic. This is suppose to soften the stones and dissolve them down so they will not get caught in the bile or pancreatic duct. If they do it can be fatal. My dad had pancreatitis from a blocked pancreatic duct and bile duct. It was discovered so late that he later chose hospice. A stroke was involved also. He would have been a diabetic because the pancreas formed necrosis, and was cut three times which released enzymes that are digestive and they go to the internal organs and start digesting them. Be careful with gallstones. Some are pea size some are marble and some form together and will not go through the ducts.

Tried the modified olive oil flush by taking 2 tablespoons olive oil daily with lemon juice. Don't bother! Sure it may get rid of some stones. And they come right back. That's the problem with the olive oil flush. If you do not address the underlying condition, you are stuck.

The underlying condition can be allergies, which can be caused by systemic candidiasis. Also, the Bircher-Benner Clinic of Switzerland believed gallstones to be caused by chronic infections that the gallbladder attempts to encapsulate with gallstones.

Many people struggle with systemic candidiasis which can be caused by living in a home with airborne mold. Constantly breathing in mold will give you a killer fungal infection that you won't be able to beat unless you move.

Apple cider vinegar, marshmallow root tea (made by soaking the cut root overnight in cold water), and horsetail tea can help dissolve the stones. Also, kombucha is said to be a cure for them if you live in a non-moldy environment - it won't brew in a moldy environment.

This cleanse had worked for me by eliminating intermittant gall bladder pain. On my third cleanse, I did pass human liver flukes which filled the entire commode! These were identified and confirmed. Hulda Clark said that when you are clean enough and have killed parasites that this would happen. It did. The same thing happened to my daughter.
