Hi. I recently had a bad case of conjunctivitis which was not going away and lasted about two weeks. I purchased colloidal silver, sprayed it into my eyes two to three times in one day and it was gone the next!!! Great stuff and so is your site----thank you so much

My guess is that you did too many doses in one day at too high of a ppm strength. Most people here are using it only one to two times a day, one or two drops in the eye, at a strength of 10-15 ppm (not 50 ppm as you have - that's 4 or 5 times as concentrated). I would dilute it with 4 or 5 parts water to 1 part of your 50ppm CS and wait a full day to do another dose.

There are two days, I went down with a nasty conjunctivitis accompanied by a migraine, I consulted earthclinic and tried the remedy of black tea, with no visible result, I spent the application of coconut oil, although I felt a little calm but sensation fat bother my vision.

A lady at home I recommend using holy basil leaves, eye drops. I picked 8 sheets and I crushed with a pestle, then I squeeze the crushed leaves in drops in my eyes. The relief was instantaneous, green liquid swept all landfills and was very soothing as for conjunctivitis for migraine. I reapplied the preparation 3 times a day and also the next day and the results are impressive. Thank you for all your contributions ..vives remedies of nature.

Thank you1 Ran to Rite Aid to purchase homeopathic remedy. Once aplied, did not seem to help but aggregated my swollen under eye and began turning black and blue. Remembered I had colloidal silver, applied but after a few application new pain developed and oozing. Finally I remembered EARTH CLINIC...great advise.

Used both the Apple cider vinegar with mother as often as possible with the green tea bag soak for pain. This came on by Christmas Dinner and ended by Day after Christmas lunch. Truly great....keep up the authentic healing!

I'm so thankful for this site. Last night at 1:30am, I woke up with a sharp stinging inner eyelid and large globs of yellow mucous seeping out of my eye. I found a couple of websites that stated natural remedies, so I combined them all. I boiled a cup of filtered water, steeped loose green tea leaves for 3 minutes, strained it, added about 2 tablespoons of organic ACV with mother, and constantly applied it to my eyes with cotton pads and swabs until I felt like it was a complete rinse. After the rinse, I applied organic coconut oil with a clean cotton swab to both eyes as a moisturizer and a salve. I went to bed at 3:30 with no more sharp pain in my eyes. In the morning, I woke up with very little yellow mucous. I am will repeat this rinse again because I'm only about 90% better, but one of those 3 cures (green tea, ACV, and organic coconut oil), if not all, began the healing of my eye pretty immediately.

Keratoconjunctivitis Remedies

Jaynemim, I would try Activated Charcoal. it is very effective against conjunctivitis. It is also good for inflammation (which is what the keratitis is.) Mix 1 t. activated charcoal powder (from your health food store.) with 4 oz. water. Strain out the charcoal with a coffee filter. Put a drop or two of the strained charcoal water into your eye 3 times a day. (Right before bed as one of the times.) You can do this indefinitely.

Chamomile is also great for conjuntivitis and inflammation. You can just get the tea bags at the grocery store and health food store. Pour hot water over two tea bags in a cup, just to moisten them. When they are a comfortable warm temperature, put a tea bag over each (closed) eye. Keep the tea bags on for 5-15 minutes. Do this 2-4 times a day.

Both remedies could be safely done together.

Let us know how you are doing!

Miracle Cure! After using antibiotic eye drops and my infection getting worse, I came here and combined your top two remedies. I had some old 18 ppm collodial silver and I added a bit of isotonic saline solution to fill my bottle and just enough organic Apple Cider Vinegar to give the solution a slight burn when dropped in my eyes. I put the drops in hourly while awake. One day later, and no green gunk, the itching, reddness and pain is almost completely gone. I will continue for a few more days just to make sure the infection is gone.

What strength, 10mmp or different? Thank you.

Elderflower

Elderflower or Sambucus nigra.

Collect the flower in early summer (May and June flowering). Cover the freshly picked flower heads with boiling water and leave to cool. Take the solution and use a dropper or cotton bud to apply to your eyes. I used this 2 days ago, it works and is an old and I thought well known remedy. Also for cats and dogs with conjunctivitis. Putting vinegar in your eyes just sounds silly. Sambus flowers are very antiseptic. The same thing with a cooled solution of sugar and water poured over the flowers and left for 48 hours makes a wonderful cordial. This eventually will form a alchoholic drink if left to ferment as the flowers supply their own favourable yeasts.

I was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and was not responding to antibiotics. I read the post and Black teabags made my eye worse. I actually ended up developing an ulcer on my cornea and I am now using vigamox. Vigamox works.

I had what I suspect is a mild case of pink eye in both eyes (uurrg), as I have been getting over a chest cold (double uurrgg! ). I am not 100% sure it was pink eye but I woke up for the past couple days with crusty, slightly goopy eyes that were bloodshot soooo... I'm guessing that's what it is. I am so happy I found this remedy.

I used white tea bags first because that's all I had. Brewed 2 together for about 15 minutes, cooled it down then used the bags as compresses and smooshed them around my eye lids gently and dripped some tea in there, as suggested. I felt the soothing effect immediately and the redness went down a bit. I found some black tea and have now twice dripped some of that (after brewing and cooling a bit) into my eye over the course of the day, and it's really working! My eyes feel calmer and more lubricated, and the redness has gone down. Yay. Still a bit itchy but I will keep doing this until they heal. It obviously helps. THANKS!

Castor Oil
Posted by Francisca (Zug, Switzerland) on 03/02/2012

Jennywren, I have the same problem with Castor Oil and won't be trying it again on my eyes. I rub it on my eyebrows though and I am going to try it on the bags under the eyes together with ACV like Bill suggested. Not on the eyes again though!

Castor Oil
Posted by Samantha (New York, Ny) on 10/28/2016

Jennywren, it's possible the castor oil actually drew out the symptoms from a virus or bacteria that was already in your eye, but luckily, there are many, other natural solutions here for you to try so that you don't have to use the castor oil again.

Green Tea Bags

I had an eye infection over the course of a week. I put some antibiotic drops in my eye a couple times and it started to get better, so naturally I went out of town that weekend and didn't think about bringing more drops. When I woke up the next day with my entire eyelid swollen and red, I decided to try washing with green tea. I steeped the tea in a mug and then cooled the water til it didn't burn. I washed all around my eye (lid, corners, creases) and then turned my head slightly to the side to let the warm tea get inside my eye (this doesn't hurt, the heat actually takes away some of the soreness! ) I washed my eye out this way every two to three hours and before I went to bed. At first, I thought this was making it worse, but after a solid 24 hours, I started to see results. Now after a few days, my eye is pretty much back to normal, although I'm going to continue with the washing until I'm sure the infection is gone. This remedy was great, although it took a little time.

Adaj40, it sounds very likely an heat/cool air unit issue. It could be something as typical and remedial as replacing an old, dirty filter with a new, clean one; or it could be mold in the duct work or anywhere throughout the building.

Hope this helps and report changes, results.

Cautions and Tips

Please be very careful about conjuctivitis issues! My young daughter woke up with pink eye once and we thought it was only pink eye! Wrong! Her system was attacking her eyes! She could have went blind!

To save her eyesite the doctors used steroid shots in the whites of her eyes to save her sight! The doctors never knew what this problem was but it finally went into remission and my daughter is now an adult and works in courtrooms as a court Stenographer!

The ophthalmologists were from Loma Linda hospital in the United States and they couldn't pinpoint her problem. We now wonder if it was pesticides in the dirt of our property as our land was once an alfalfa field.

But we never officially found out what caused this problem.

Don't take pink eye lightly.

This really works. My 7yo woke up with crusty itchy eyes. At first we were going to take her to the dr, but I decided to check Earthclinic first. I'm glad I did. I put one drop of colloidal silver in each eye twice a day and it cleared up in about 3 days. Also, I made sure I washed and changed her bedding before starting the treatment.

Raw Milk

There seems to be several different natural cures for pink eye, but I would like to add what we use to the list. We raise dairy and meat goats. We have four bucklings kept together in an area just for them. One came down with pink eye this past winter, and one by one they all got it. Most people that have goats knows that just a 1/2 of a dropper full of fresh, raw milk will cure pink eye in just a couple days. After milking my does I would immediatley put some milk in a dropper and squeeze that into my bucklings eye. Twice a day is good, but even just once a day will cure it fast. I have read if you don't have fresh milk, you also can even used evaporated milk. So it doesn't have to be raw or fresh, although I think it would be better. This also works on humans. It's so easy and simple and almost everyone has some milk in the refrigerator. Hope this helps someone.

Neosporin works for eye mucus. Been struggling with mucus at the edges on my eyes. Smeared regular old neosporin from dollartree at the corners of my eyes and under and over the eye lids 2x daily and in 3 days I am good.

Just be sure you are not allergic to neosporin or it will make your situation worse.

I've had pink eye 3 times in my life. What worked the best was colloidal silver. One drop in each eye every 4-6 hours; no touching or rubbing the eye(s); washing hands and washing anything that had touched my face (towels, pillow case, etc. ), and depending on the severity, the pink eye cleared up within 24 hours to 3-4 days. It's also important to be sure and sleep on your back. If you lie on the side that is not infected and a tear travels from the infected eye, over the bridge of your nose, and some how makes contact with your good eye, then you'll wake up with 2 pink eyes. I know, since it happened to me. : (

Now if I feel any discomfort in my eyes and suspect pink eye, I'll quickly use the silver. The Santa Ana winds in So California is the worst time for pink eye. Wear sunglasses if the winds are blowing.

Black Tea Bag

I woke up with a itchy red eye. It was leaking a clear fluid. It was also hard for me to open the eye. It was only in my left eye. After visiting this site. I read about using tea (either black or green) as a remedy. Well I used black tea because it was the cheapest. I just made my tea like normal and took the tea bag out of the water after I let it seep for a few minutes and applied it to my eye. The warmth of the tea bag was so relaxing and soothing. I felt an immediate difference in about 15 minutes. I was able to go to work that day and by the end of the day the irritation was gone. Works great for me. Thanks to this website and all who posted.

Saliva
Posted by Truthseeker (Woonsocket, Ri) on 04/05/2010

Ok, so here we are day 2. So my eyes are FOR SURE getting better. But to be honest by about 9pm last night I didn't feel that my eyes had KEPT progressing like they did for the first 30 minutes of applying the saliva. So I put more saliva in my eyes at 9pm last night... only, I used my hubby's (disgusting!) I did so because I know full well that different people have different levels of good bacteria and health. And he has a very stong constatution. So I woke up this morning with almost no discharge (just a little) and haven't had any discharge all day. My eye is not 100% cured but it is MUCH better. Still, I want to move this along ASAP. So I figured I'd do some raw milk in my eye.... you see I know that breastmilk is the #1 natural cure for pink eye, but a friend of mine (who is big on natural cures) said that breastmilk needs to be applied right away for it to be effective, I don't so much buy that... breastmilk has loads of good things (like beneficial bacteria) in it AT ALL times and I think that should help when used at any point. Alas I have no breastmilk. What I do have however is some pasture fed, organic, raw milk. I put 2-3 drops of the raw milk in my eyes 4 times day. I did a bit more research and here is what I found:

Mother's milk is abundant in natural substances called lysosomes, which can also be found in saliva and tears.

Amazing! I think that the saliva would have cleared up my pink eye faster and better if it were viral. And just for the record, with other members of my family who have caught pink eye, we have used manuka honey with a 3 day cure rate. That being said we have only had pink eye (in our family) a total of 3 times.

I am going to add mega doses of vit. C to my regimen tonight. I'll report back tomorrow. For now, this is day 2 using natural methods and I am about 40%-50% better.

Saliva in my eyes would be the kiss of death as I have Sjogren's or dry eye. Must always use sterile things as eyes too dry to fight any bacteria especially that found in a dry mouth.
