Green Tea Cured Pink Eye

I awakened on Wednesday of last week with a crusty, gooey, left eye that was very red and felt as though my pupil was dilated. I boiled water and steeped a bag of green tea in a 1/2 cup of water for 20 minutes. Once the tea bag was at a comfortable temperature, I put on my eyelid and allowed some tea to drizzle into the eye. I kept the tea bag there for approximately 10 minutes and then repeated the procedure several more times throughout the day. Within 24 hours my eye was completely back to normal. Thanks Earth Clinic for the remedy!

Doctors Agatha and Calvin Thrash in their book "Natural Remedies"

1. Charcoal poultices should be applied overnight. Mix powdered charcoal with water sufficient to make a thick paste and spread it over a piece of flannel or muslin larger than the inflamed area of the eye. Place this over the eye. Cover with a piece of plastic or similar material and hold in place with an ace bandage wrapped lightly around the head. The bandage should not be so tight that it puts pressure on the eyeballs, but it must be snug enough to hold the compress in place overnight. Remove it in the morning, and dispose of the compress in a manner to avoid spreading the infection.

2. Charcoal slurry water eye drops may be used during the day. To make the drops boil one cup of water with one-fourth teaspoon salt (suggest Real Salt, celtic, sea salt as better than table salt) and one teaspoon powdered charcoal. When cool, strain through several layers of cheesecloth. Using a dropper, put four or five drops of the clear fluid in the affected eye every two hours.

An village with 1,000 people in Papua New Guinea had members in most families infected. They found this remedy 10 times more effective than antibiotics. A relative registered nurse suggests this to us family members.

Pink Eye - My Remedy

Hi there. I saw a section concerning pink eye and just wanted to throw in something I learnt a little while ago. I work in a medical facility and conjunctivitis comes around every so often.

I have had this a few times before and they always send you home for it. Well one day I made a mixture:
* About a cup of warm water
* 2 Table spoons of locally procured honey
* A dropper full of Comfrey Extract
* A dropper full of Olive Leaf Extract
* About a teaspoon of salt

I mixed it all together very well and used a dropper to place a few drops into the infected eye as often as I thought about it. All together probably around 10 times or more that day. By the next morning it was all over with.

What I had done was went and got a note and a prescription and decided that if the above had not improved anything within a day or two I would start taking the RX, but that was not necessary.

I've had to do it a second time, but did not add the salt or Comfrey and it still worked. I think it's the honey to be honest. Comfrey is said not to be safe internally, so perhaps not a good idea to squirt into the eye.

Anyway, thought I'd share and hope this is a help to someone.

Colloidal Silver

When my eyes get itchy and icky, colloidal silver (CS) works fast. I accidentally left the CS batch brewing for several hours and since the solution was bit yellow I don't ingest but works great topically.

Don't ever put 3% Hydrogen Peroxide in the eyes, I did that by accident. Contact lense used to have a cleaner called AOSEPT (you use with neutralizing disc) and I mistakened it for saline. Aosept was basically 3% H202. It burned so bad and turned eye so red and I kept flushing with water for like 1/2 an hour but no damage. Had it been 35% H202, it probably would have burned the corneal tissue!

But CS in eye is soothing provided you make it right, distilled water, pure silver (at least .999), no salt.

Green Tea Bags

I just wanted everyone to know that #1 this site is great! i first found this site looking for a pink eye cure for my two daughters (ages 2 and 3) well i tried the green tea remedy on each of them and within a few days (i think it was 3days) their pink eye was gone! never had to go to the doctor or anything. I did however change up the process a little.(they had a pretty severe case of pink eye)

So what i did was i put about 3 drops of colloidal silver in each eye then i placed a warm tea bag over each eye and left it on for about 15-20 minutes (i steeped the tea just as if i were making a cup of tea)and at first when i removed the tea bag i could see the green mucousy stuff floating around in the eyes like it was being pulled out of the crevices or something. it was nasty. but by the 2nd day it had pretty much cleared up. i followed that same procedure-silver then warm green tea bag-about 2-3x a day for 3days and it has not come back! that was almost a month ago. p.s. the secret to getting the tea bags on the eyes of people so young is to wait until nap time or bed time (in case anyone was wondering how i managed to do that). so anyway-thanks for the help! God bless.

I tried soaking my eye in green tea to cure my pink eye several hours after I realized I had it. It worked great! Within 24 hours my eye was no longer ichy and a lot less red! I used two tea bags in cup hot water, let it cool down, spooned some up and held the full spoon up to my eye for a minute several times throughout the day. The next morning it was notably better and I didn't have to spend any extra money or see a doctor. Thanks!

Sea Salt

I have had a very mild on again off again case of Conjuctivitis for about three years. In the last three months with the cold it had gotten worse. (I moved from southern California to a state that experienced real winters). I hate over the counter medication or chemicals of any kind so I came to my favorite website and read a few of the remedies. I decided on a Sea Salt remedy. I got a 16 oz bottle of spring water, warmed it then added 2 tablespoons of Sea Salt and shook it up. I place a soft folded towel on the bathroom sink slightly over the edge and laid my head on the towel. I slowly poured the mixture into the corner of my eye until I instinctively knew to stop then I did the other eye for good measure. Once I rinsed my face I could feel my sinues very clearly! I was breathing and could FEEL it like I have not in a long while. I felt some drainage in the sinues and I guess that is way, not sure but what I do know is that my eye feels better than it has in two months! The thin skin around the eye was breaking. I intend on applying my solution on the hour and the same for the next day if needed but I do not think I will need to. Thanks Earthclinic!

ACV, Green Tea Bags, Honey

I've gotten this condition more times than I can count. Before EC the treatment was going to the eye doctor, getting tubes of salve or eye drops and salve too. Now I make green tea, add ACV and honey, cut a makeup remover pad in half, soak the pad and apply to the eyelid. I do the application every hour until it's gone which is usually in about 6-8hrs. Works every time with no doctor visits thanks to EC!!!

Colloidal Silver

My guess is that you did too many doses in one day at too high of a ppm strength. Most people here are using it only one to two times a day, one or two drops in the eye, at a strength of 10-15 ppm (not 50 ppm as you have - that's 4 or 5 times as concentrated). I would dilute it with 4 or 5 parts water to 1 part of your 50ppm CS and wait a full day to do another dose.

There are two days, I went down with a nasty conjunctivitis accompanied by a migraine, I consulted earthclinic and tried the remedy of black tea, with no visible result, I spent the application of coconut oil, although I felt a little calm but sensation fat bother my vision.

A lady at home I recommend using holy basil leaves, eye drops. I picked 8 sheets and I crushed with a pestle, then I squeeze the crushed leaves in drops in my eyes. The relief was instantaneous, green liquid swept all landfills and was very soothing as for conjunctivitis for migraine. I reapplied the preparation 3 times a day and also the next day and the results are impressive. Thank you for all your contributions ..vives remedies of nature.
