10 Natural Stye Treatments for Fast Relief

A couple of years ago I was having a problem with styes- those annoying, painful lumps on the eyelid, on or near the lash line. My cousin told me to prepare a green tea bag, make yourself a cup of tea and while the bag is still semi-hot, squeeze out excess water (leave some), and apply to the stye for a minute or so. Be careful it's not too hot (altho I like it that way). Usually there's no sign of them the next morning. Maybe a stubborn one will take another treatment, but that's it! Kills it quickly. I don't use same bag on both eyes, in case of cross-contamination. Last night I felt a severe pain in my lower left eye, but it wasn't a sty. I took out my contacts and used a tea bag on it, and irrigated it with the tea and it began watering. Which felt greatbecause it was so dry and painful!! The pain subsided altho it still stung with whatever it was in my eye. It's fine this morning. I also cured my son's red, inflamed, crusty eyes with both green tea bags and honey a couple months ago. I made the tea, added honey to it and dipped the bags back in, didn't squeeze and used them (2 bags) on each eye. Did this about 3 times in 36 hours and they were healed.

Lavender Oil cures styes

Thank God for this website. I have been afflicted with styes every month for more than a year and have searched for a cure. Your website has been a constant source of research and inspiration for me. My doctors prescribed the usual ineffective eyedrops but nothing helped. One evening, about 6 months ago, I was using Lavender oil in my hair (in an attempt to heal some head sores I have been getting) when I accidentally rubbed my finger across my eyelids. At the time, I had a painful stye that just would not go away. Lo and behold, the very next morning, the stye reduced in size and the pain went away. By evening, the stye had disappeared! Just to make sure it would not return, I deliberately put a very light amount of Lavender oil on my finger and rubbed it over both eyelids and (yes) across my eyeball. It stung for about a minute, but since then I have not had one occurrence of styes. I told a friend about this. She had problems with her eyes becoming red and inflamed. She tried it and it cured her eye problems too! I am putting this information out so that other sufferers with styes can see if it works for them also. Please note that you do not have to put a whole drop of Lavender Oil on your finger. Wash your hands before applying. Simply touch the wet tip of the bottle to your finger and rub your eyelids. Let your finger touch your eyeball. It stings for about a minute but does not affect your vision. Close your eyes and roll them around for a minute. Then wipe away any excess (and your tears). Please post some feedback on your experience so that others can benefit.

I have used cold pressed castor oil for a sty and it works pretty good.

I just wanted to share my success with using castor oil for stys. I frequently get little bumps around my eyes that look like whiteheads, had some particularly irritating ones just on the edge of the eyelid that rubbed the eye. Ouch! I tried the baby shampoo which got rid of most, but some stubborn ones remained so I tried castor oil. First of all it's very soothing and didn't bother my eyes like the shampoo, especially since it was unavoidable to get in the eye bc of location. I just used a qtip and smoothed it over both lash lines and around the eyelid and let it sit overnight. My stys cleared up around 24-48 hours. I kept at it a little longer, it feels nice and hopefully will prevent anymore.

I just wanted to say that the baby shampoo is working for stys. I tend to get them around my eyes, look like little whiteheads about the size of a pinhead. I have a couple now...the first one has been there a lil longer, just below my lower lash line and it's improved, but the new one that just popped up directly on the edge of my eyelid, touching the eye, is very noticeably shrunken. I think it'll be gone soon. It was irritating my eye so bad because everytime I blinked it felt like grit in my eye. But I just rubbed some baby shampoo on the spots while washing my face last nite and then rinsed with water. I would recommend it's probably best to do ASAP, probably easier to get rid of the sooner you treat it, like any other problem really.

Tea bags cured my eye styes! I had a sty on my eyelid and one under my eye for over a year. One morning I woke up with another one right on the edge of my eye that was really irritating so I found this home remedy and it worked within 24 hours. I grabbed a tea bag (i think it was green tea, but it most likely doesn't matter) soaked it in warm water until it actually produced tea, then held the bag on each stye for ~15 minutes. I felt instant relief on the newest stye so I then repeated the process and held it for longer each time. 2 of the 3 styes are gone and the 3rd is definitely smaller. I'm sure if I kept at it they all would have disappeared but it is a bit awkward holding a teabag to your eye for long periods of time!

Yesterday I had a sty under my right eyelid and decided to try the Baby Shampoo by dabbing some with a q-tip to the top of my eyelid as well as on the sty. I only did this twice and to my amazement, the sty was gone and I no longer had the pain that came along with it. I wish I would have taken a picture of the before and after to show others who probably won't believe me. I am hooked on this website and am telling family and friends about it so that they may find some comfort in finding easy rememdies for their ailments. Thanks Again!

I used organic unpasteurized honey from the health food store to cure warts on my son's hands. You take a table spoon twice a day for two weeks. I recommended this to a friend who had warts and it also got rid of her sty she had for years near her eye.

I poured milk in my infected eye last night. The sty on the inside drained all night long; however, the other sty that is directly on the bottom lining of my eye lid is full force today. Big, red and sore. I will try milk on it tonight when I get home. Really wishing I had some gold to rub on it...

Wow. I was kind of skeptical about this at first but it was just a couple dollars down the drain if it doesn't. BUT IT DID WORK! I got a stye on my eye (which is caused by staph) and in 3 days of drinking 1 tsp of turmeric 2-3x a day it was gone. I'll admit warm water plus the powder isn't the best taste to have stuck in your mouth. The other day I had a pimple type thing in my nose that i could've swore was mrsa, it was hurting and red even on the outside of my nose (i know it would've got bigger, it's happened before) and in a day it was gone. I know there's some stigma over using this-but quite a lot of skin creams contain urea-one of the major components of urine. I can tell you that getting a small amount of fresh urine on a cotton wool ball and applying it to styes, works a treat-your stye will be gone in a few hours-may need a couple of applications though.

Milk is the best cure for a sty. My family has been using it for generations. Just poor milk directly in the eye and the sty will begin to drain in minutes.

Baby shampoo will cure a sty in no time. Look closely at the infected eyelash and you will see a waxy substance at the hair line. Take a Q-tip dipped in baby shampoo and simply wipe along the infected eyelash wiping at the waxy substance. The sty will not break, but will discharge the infection back out of the eyelash. The baby shampoo will not burn your eyes and cleaning both eyelids, with shampoo and water, will make yours eyes feel great. I cannot remember where I found this remedy but wanted to share.

Previously I have used a gold ring to cure my styes, usually it works right away and if not within a few hours but it does not always work sadly. I say sadly because I am often afflicted by these horrible things.

Recently I developed a large painful sty, it was causing me great discomfort and making me want to stay in the house so no one would see my inflamed eye! I hate that feeling.

Despite rubbing my gold ring on it and applying hot compresses and warm tea bags on it repeatedly plus putting castor oil on the stye at night, it was just getting worse to my horror, it was large, swollen and red.

The following day I washed my eye with a turmeric solution and also did a steam inhalation aimed to 'open' up the stye and decongest it from the pus. I did this by leaning over a bowl of freshly boiled water with a few drops of essential oils of tea tree, lavender, geranium and patchouli- these oils are used to fight staph- with a towel on my head.

The sty was still there, that horrible creature!

Finally I tried the salt remedy. This was my last resort as this is a very painful remedy.

I put a little salt in a shot glass with some warm water and bathed my eye. I opened my eye and boy did the pain kick in! I was worried in fact that I was hurting myself but I guessed if my eye can survive saltwater in the sea then it can survive this. After that I applied externally to the bump of the sty a salt and water paste which I left to dry.

Thank goodness for salt. The salt really seems to have dried up the worst of the stye and helped to purge the offending swellings....
