Banana Peel for Plantar Wart

Plantar warts, also known as verrucas, are warts that are usually found on the bottoms of the feet. They are not generally raised as are other warts. Sometimes they have small black specks in the center.

Mosaic warts are clusters of plantar warts. While plantar warts are not a serious or dangerous health condition, they can be painful and unsightly. Because they are caused by a virus, they can be transmitted from one person to another.

Children seem to be more susceptible to plantar warts than adults.

The same type of wart found on the hand is called a Palmer Wart. While there are over-the-counter products for warts, and they can be frozen off, there are many inexpensive natural remedies that work to heal plantar warts, including castor oil, coconut oil, essential oils, duct tape, and our most popular reader cure, a banana peel!

Castor Oil or Coconut Oil

Castor Oil or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil have both been found to be helpful in healing warts.

Rub either oil into the wart once or twice a day until the warts are gone. Cinnamon Essential Oil and Oregano Essential Oil are both counted as anti-viral oils and some have found that they will heal plantar warts.

These are strong oils and should be diluted before using topically. Castor oil and coconut oil, because of their own reputation for healing warts, would be the ideal carrier oils.

Add 5 drops of cinnamon or oregano essential oil to 1 teaspoon of castor or coconut oil and rub a bit into warts twice a day.

Duct Tape Method

To use duct tape for plantar warts, cut a small piece of duct tape slightly bigger than the size of the wart you are treating. Attach it to the wart and change the duct tape daily until the wart is completely gone.

Banana Peel - Most Popular Treatment

Countless people have used the banana peel cure for regular warts and it works for plantar warts, too! This method works remarkably well and fast too, but you must keep it up for a number of days and file down the dead skin with a pumice stone to get at the core of the plantar wart. Otherwise, it will grow back in a month or two.

Instructions:

Snip a piece of peel from a ripe banana that is large enough to fit over the plantar wart with a little extra room. Cover the banana peel with duct tape and go about your day. Repeat the process daily until the wart is gone.

I came to this site hoping to find a cure for some plantar warts that I have been suffering from for sometime now. A few are clustered together close to the inside heel of each foot. After using over the counter treatments, they would kind of callus over, never really going completely away, and then reappear again, only to look and hurt worse then they did previously. I really was at my "warts" end with these things. They truly hurt! When my feet hurt - I hurt all over!!! Anyway, I decided to try the aloe vera remedy, seeing as how I had a big Aloe plant in my window. I also had some Apple Cidar Vinegar but other people on here had mentioned they tried applying it directly to the wart, and it hurt like heck!!! I didn't want any further pain on top of the pain I was already feeling!

I always knew aloe was great for burns but never heard about using it for warts. This past Friday, my feet were killing me from bearing down on these warts. I couldn't walk! They were very tender to the touch. I was walking with my heels up in the air! "High-heeled" tennis shoes! On Friday - My pain gauge (ON scale of 1 to 10)... was a "10" before using the Aloe.

Well, I cleaned up the wound, scraped off some white blistery stuff that had formed I think, from using some over the counter stuff - it looked like a blister anyways, but I scraped that off until I could see some skin underneath. I split open one of the aloe vera leaves, rubbed the inside juicy part all over the wart area; It actually felt very soothing to the touch. I even took a good-sized clump of the gel, and lay in directly on top of the wart, covered it with a bandage and left it alone uintil Saturday. It was still painful to walk on. By Saturday. Pain scale was around "7". Still hurt but much better than Fridays pain gauge! I could (almost) walk normal, putting some pressure down on my feet. Did same thing - cleaned and gelled the area of the warts. I could tell - my feet were starting to feel better already. I might add that I did have a lot of redness and a red streak around the warts when I first started. That is a sign of infection! By Saturday, the redness was almost gone, and no red streak going out the side of it.! It really looked quite better in a days time. By Saturday night, the pain scale was down to about a "5". I doctored it again, the same way, before going to bed. By Sunday - Pain scale is a BIG NUMBER "1"! Almost "0" pain, but still just a wee bit tenderness. The redness is completely gone as well! I was actually walking normal again. I was so excited that my feet didn't hurt when I walked - I started cleaning the house! I had never been so excited about doing anything in my life! My feet were pain-free! My warts are on their way out, thanks to the Aloe Vera. which I will continue to use until they are completely gone.

I did read several explanations as to why I would get plantar warts, one being that they stem from a virus, and another that I read, could be caused from low potassium levels. Not sure what the total truth is, but I lean towards the latter because I was potassium deficient. It's interesting to read how the treatments for plantar warts call for using potassium rich ingredients such as; Bananas, Apple Cidar Vinegar, and even Aloe as the cure. These are all potassium enriched! Could there be some truth in that after all?

I might add that, from Friday on, I downed half a bottle of the Apple Cidar Vinegar.... I usually just take a couple tablespoons a day (and, I hadn't even been taking the ACV on a daily basis for a while now), but thought maybe I needed more potassium in my system...(and I don't like bananas! ), soooooo now I am wonderin', was it the high dose of my ACV that cured my warts so quickly or was it the Aloe... or maybe... both??? I was really, really overdosing on the "potassium" this past week-end! It is now Monday, and as of this writing my feet are feeling/looking wonderful!!!! Thank you to everyone who posts these wonderful, natural, healthy remedies on this website! I love to brag about this website every chance I get!

I've thought about this as well (them potentially being caused by low potassium levels). Not only bananas, aloe and ACV (I didn't know the last two had a lot of potassium), but potatoes are also rubbed on them to cure them, which also contain a lot of potassium. I'm not sure if eating more potassium in your diet would help but it is an interesting idea. They are caused by a virus but some people's immune systems just get rid of them while others' don't, and maybe potassium deficiency makes the difference?

This is not a soak, but to attest to other healing benefits of ACV as an ingested first thing upon waking, 30 minute before food application.

I had a planter's wart on my right foot and one cropping up (pun intended) on my left foot that people told me to use the foot soak for, but I also heard you could drink it in the morning. I chose the ingested option for more additional benefits.

They call for a spoonful or two (buy the one with “the mother” in it) that can be diluted with water if you find the taste too harsh to deal with. I just swig mine straight and get the “WHY???” face, for the brave at stomach. In about a month all of the planter's warts had disappeared off of my feet!!!

Guys, I had a plantars wart for years that I picked up in the gym. After spending thousands on medicines, pulse dye laser and other "cures" I decided to try the Apple cider vinegar with the (mothers) brand. Now I used this brand because I heard it worked best and it was only 5 bucks. After about a month of strict use and slowly and carefully shaving it down with a razor blade the whole wart came off like a little dark nub. I have been wart free for over a year. Yes it will sting like a mother, but guys I promise if you do it add maintain a strict regimen it might work for you. It worked for me and I was desperate.

I had a large, painful wart on the bottom of my toe. I used apple cider vinegar. I placed a cotton ball with Apple Cider Vinegar on my toe and secured it with medical tape, replacing it daily. After about 3 days it turned black so I filed it down. There were dead, black veins sticking out of the wart. I did take a break for two days. The wart was very deep and it did begin to get sore. I then continued treatment and the wart was gone in 2 weeks. It has not returned and did not scar. I have tried freezing and wart removal liquids that did not work. From now on, I will only use ACV.

Can someone help me! I have plantars warts on my foot and it's underneath my pinkie toe and the one next to it! I have been doing the ACV and duct tape for two days and the wart is still hard and I'm in a lot of pain?! Is this meant to be happening? And since I'm having this stinging pain should I carry on the process?

For plantar warts, the answer is hot water. Put your feet in hot water everyday for 20 minutes. they will disappear. I read that and I did it. It worked.

So I had plantar wart on my foot for about 7 years. I spend several hundred dollars on it by going to the doctor to freeze it off six times, buying expensive essential oils, over the counter wart stuff, tried duct tape, apple cider vinegar, even used nail polish. Nothing-it would annoy my skin, but wart was happy and well...As a matter of fact it started growing babies on the sides. I decided to just live with it. Then I read about aspirin/fish oil remedy and since I had both at home, I tried it. I couldn't believe it, but I knew my warts were gone after about 3 days, however I kept taping mixture on for a week, just to be sure.

This is what I did -

I put one or two drops of water on aspirin tablet (regular, no coating) to soften it, then put a bit of fish oil - I opened capsule. Mixed it, and put some on each wart, and taped it with a bandaid, and then used medical tape on top as band aids are usually worthless on their own. Then I put sock on just to make sure it stayed on well. I kept it on day and night (and put fresh after shower), although people who used it before me did just nights. It didn't hurt, but it did itch. That was several years ago, and wart didn't come back. So after trying all those things, solution was in my cabinet all the time...

The banana peel method works amazing! My daughter had a wart on her toe. I used a salic acid wart bandaid for 2 days. This made it very sore & angry. I started adding a couple drops of Thuja occidentalis oil under a bandaid for a few days, calmed it down but small improvement and still painful. I did the banana peel & duct tape method for 2 days, applied for 24 hours then cleaned & filed lightly then reapplied banana peel & duct tape. 24hrs later the wart fell right off when I took off the duct tape. Note the banana within an hour the first day applied took all the pain away. Before that she was unable to walk without pain. I am so impressed that this method worked so well.

I had a planner's wart on my foot for about a year that only mildly bothered me. I decided one day enough is enough and I was going to take care of it before it started to hurt.

I taped a centimeter square piece of banana peel to my foot with a piece of duct tape and went to work for about 12 hours, and that's all it took! The wart completely came out that night when I went to change it!

Banana peels work! I first tried OTC freeze products and that did diddly...several brands! Tried applying those for longer periods of time/nope. Next I broke down and went to the podiatrist who over the course of three sessions used acid or later and that didn't remove it either. Then via this website I tried ACV which burned if left on too long and I need breaks in the treatment as my skin was too irritated so in the long run I gave up on that although it did get rid of some of it.

Finally via this website, I tried the banana peels because everyone seemed to say it worked. Well, it did and there was no pain. I left it on my foot overnight and reapplied as needed.

Do I use the inside of the peel, green banana, fully ripe? This one seems deep, came alive when I pulled some out. Thank you!

I had a plantar wart on the bottom of my foot for a long time. It slowly grew to be the size of a dime and started to bother me when I walked so I couldn't ignore it any longer. I first tried applying lugol's iodine to it every day, 5%. I held a soaked qtip on the wart. It seemed like it was working but very slowly. Then I read about banana peel on Earth Clinic and was very skeptical, but decided to try that next.

I cut a small piece of banana peel off and applied it to the bottom of my foot with a bandaid and a piece of duct tape over the bandaid. I did this in the morning and walked around in sandals so the banana peel was literally being smushed into the wart with all my weight. I kept it on a few hours but it disintegrates pretty fast when you apply weight and the bandaid/duct tape peels off after some time. It shrank 50% in 2 days. Every night I used a pumice stone to the area and gave it a vigorous scrub, removing as much skin as possible. By day 4, it was gone.

So easy. Who would have thought? Must be Potassium in the banana peel that kills it so fast? I think anyone who has a wart should try the banana peel remedy first and not waste time with other remedies.

The information provided on your site is unclear as to whether ripe or lesser ripe banana peel works best for warts.

EC: Ripe... as in not too green and not too ripe is best.

My 5 year old had planters warts that we picked up at a splash pad. They were painful and irritating. We tried the salicylic acid patches ( compound w) for two boxes and the warts were still holding on. After much research on natural remedies I decided to try banana peel.

Every night we cut a piece of peel to fit the warts and covered with bandaids and a sock. A couple days a week we put a drop of tea tree essential oil on the banana peel. They started dying immediately and are now completely gone and healed, as if nothing ever happened. Seriously, Banana peel cures warts. It's amazing.

I was horrified last week to find a plantar wart on my foot. Rather than resorting to some scary surgical procedure, I bought a bulk box of bandaids and resigned myself to spending months, taping pieces of banana skin to the wart every night.

After just 3 nights, I was cleaning off black banana goo from the wart area with a cotton swab, and a chunk of the wart dropped out. It may even be the whole thing. I cleaned with peroxide the crater it left and smeared some more banana around for good measure, before taping on 2 more bandaids from my huge supply.

Banana peel works best for plantar warts. I had a wart that kept coming back despite continuous painful freezing, cortisone shots, surgery, etc., and I could not wear regular shoes or sandals. I don't even like bananas, but the peel has medicinal properties. Cut a piece of the peel and place it over the wart and secure with bandaids or stretchy medical tape. Leave it on overnight or wear it during the day. It is painless and the wart will shrink and disappear!

Well, I finally got around to treating a plantar wart on the side of my heel that has not been annoying enough to tackle until I had a little time on my hands to devote to some detox protocols and cleanses. The wart has been out of sight out of mind kind of thing, and its not massive but its pretty well entrenched put it that way like a hard white bump. I was going to go the ACV route as - thanks to Earthclinic- this is a staple in the house for some time and I'm convinced of its great therapeutic qualities. Burn that sucker out the natural way.

But after reading the banana peel reviews I thought I would try it first. Give it a week or two and if not just switch to ACV. But my 3rd day in and I can say that the banana peel method is ...miraculous, I'm just not sure how else to describe it!

Based on the reviews, after washing the wart and a quick rinse of hydrogen peroxide, I have been cutting a small square of fresh banana peel and taping it onto the wart with a regular bandaid and then covered the whole thing with a 4" x 4" waterproof plaster to hold in place. Once in morning and once in evening.

The first night I could actually feel it tingling, drawing the wart out! And after just ONE night the wart was brought out of hiding it all its hideous spidery gunky blackness. Unbelievable. 3rd day on and I have filed the wart down with an emory board and got rid of a lot of black crap encircling the "black hole".

So I can add to the treasure trove of reviews and maybe one point that might be helpful is how the process makes you realize that while even just wart may seem "dormant" and maybe not even that bothersome, the underlying reality that the banana peel brings out really makes one think how it must be affecting one's general health and vitality? The only way I can compare it is to a root canal. The immune system is constantly having to contain it. There is probably the virus elsewhere in the body but is a wart "ground zero"?. Also, the process has really renewed my faith in a spiritual way, funny as it sounds. There is really nothing to fear as we are provided with so many methods of natural healing. I look at the humble banana in a new light. What other qualities does it have in that peel...how is it working...sure it is the potassium or whatever, but I am contemplating it more in terms of something like an essence, a flower essence of the plant's devic properties. In the banana's case, we have a tough fibrous outer skin with an inner transition layer that is designed to protect and develop the inner fruit against all invaders until the fruit is ready to serve its purpose....reminds me of placenta and how it can be placed over burn victims. Well as you can tell it has really made me think about far more than just a "wart".

And this is just ONE plant!! Here in Maui there is a big push for replacing all the sugar cane with legalized hemp production and we are all starting to realize the great benefits of that plant...thanks Earthclinic and I hope to see the legal non-psychadelic hemp products featured more and more along with other remedies not yet fully remembered or realized.

Amazing! My 5 year old son was suffering from a wart on his big toe & after trying several other things it started to get infected so I tried the banana peel remedy & it worked!

I left it on for 2 days (infection healed) & then took it off & left it alone for about a week hoping it would fall off. After 7 days it was still there (black & looked dead) so as I shaved it down a little to put another banana peel on, it fell off! Perfect pink skin underneath!

Hope this helps someone! Especially children! A simple banana could save the child & parent so much trouble! Thank you all for posting!

I got this painful plantar wart on the sole of my left foot last Nov 2015. The first dermatologist thought it was just a corn and treated it in a wrong way which it gotten worse. I consulted different dermatologist and told me that it was an infected viral plantar wart so he did a cryocautery procedure and salicylic acid but nothing happened for almost 2 months and it gotten worse and became more painful. He told me the root of the wart should be removed so he did an electrocautery procedure where the anesthesia injection is the most painful injection I have ever experienced. It became better for 2 months but I can still feel some pain when walking.

I came back to the doctor for followup checkup and he told me it is getting better but needs to cryocautery again which is really painful. On the 2nd day the wart became swollen and painful again so I decided to look for alternative remedies on the net and I found this site.

I tried the Banana Peel procedure mentioned here. Every night I will clean the surface of the wart then will rub the inside of banana peel on the infected wart. I took a small piece, stuck it over the wart and covered it with a bandage tape. The next day is like a miracle the swollen and the pain of the wart have lessen. I continued using banana peel even on the day while at work. In just a week the pain is completely disappeared. I can walk better now. I should have known this procedure before.

I spent more than 300 dollars on the Doctors and wart treatment is not covered in my health insurance even if it is infected and painful.

I want to thank God for helping me to find this site and thanks to all of you.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone with warts.
