Devil's Claw

I can recommend Devil's Claw for osteoarthritis. I was using tart cherry concentrate with some success but when I switched to Devil's Claw, I suddenly realized the pain I often experienced when hiking or climbing stairs was gone... And I only take half the recommended daily dosage of 2 capsules per day. Each capsule has 500 mgs. I did stop for a while when I ran out and the pain returned so now I wouldn't be without it.

Dave - Happy to read of your great results with honey and cinnamon. I want to give it a try and hope I am as fortunate.

Could you please share the amounts of honey/cinnamon that you took, and how often each day you took it?

Thanks so much.

Dear readers,
No other site can be better than earthclinic. Osteo-Arthritis is a disease where apart from pain relief a lot many factors should be considered. First of all it is a degenerative disorder where cartilage is damaged, spurs may be formed, space between the bones forming knee joints may be reduced. Patient suffers excruciating pain, stiffness and disability. As the diseases advances locking, unlocking and rotational movements are also lost. Structures which hold the knee joints also lose their competence. Tendons become less flexible, muscles harden. There are so many options which may temporarily reduce the knee pain. Until structural correction is achieved one cannot get permanent relief in knee joint Osteo-Arthritis.

Manipulative therapy aims at-
Release of chronic tension of muscles, ligaments and tendons forming knees, ankle joints and hip joints. Recalibration of muscles with their relationship, and
Realignment of bones. The following goals are achieved-
Relief in pain
Disability and
Stiffness. Patient may lead healthy life. After the structural correction patient is advised for exercises which may strengthen the muscles. During treatment patient may take pain relief support. In correction very simple tools like straps and ropes are used.

I suffered from osteoarthritis years ago. First only in Spring and Autumn and only on my right knee. The pain would go away with some supplements like shark's cartilage or berry supplements. After a few years nothing was helping and I had difficulty going down stairs, also up but less. Other than that I could walk normally and even run. The doctors all told me that there was nothing to be done, I would have to be on medication for a number of years and then have an operation.

I am 53 years old now and have been pain free for 5 1/2 years. How? Someone told me about a health store in Portugal which had a doctor. I went there and he advised me to use hot sand on my knee which was quite troublesome because I never went to the beach. Then he tried some electrodes and told me to go back a week later. Again he tried the same electrodes and after that another kind which hurt quite a bit. The next day I was almost pain free, left for France, spent quite a bit of time in the sun and the pain disappeared. Till today I have never had any knee complaints again! Maybe it comes back but well, I have gained quite a few years! By the way, I was never overweight and am an energetic person but never did too much exercise.

This is really interesting but could you please give more detail about what you did with the sand (sat on beach or heated it in oven, iron sand or silicious?). Also more about electrode treatment? I think other readers would appreciate more detail, even name of health store in Portugal.

Hi again Mesem, I never tried the sand but the doctor told me that I would have to warm it up in a pan and then put it in a cotton bag (he was going to bring me some from the beach but he never did because then he decided on the other treatment). I have no idea what electrodes he used but I know that he repeated the first ones on the second session and then used others, more painful ones. Here is the name and address of the shop: Alegria & Chaveiro Lda Avenida 25 de Abril 208c - Pontinha. Phone number: 00351 21 478 53 42. It is located near Lisbon, easy access by underground and the doctor did his studies in Cuba where he still goes from time to time.

Hi Goosebeans. Thanks so much for the information. I am suffering with arthritic pain in my knees to the point of not being able to walk much at all anymore. All activities are limited and dependent on how much walking I would have to do. Because of this, I rarely go anywhere anymore. I am do to have arthroscopic surgery in about two weeks. I don't like going to the doctors, taking pills or getting injections. So having surgery would be absolute torture for me. I am going to try your remedy and hope that it will work for me too! Thanks, again!

To Mumtaz & others, I also had arthroscopic knee surgery at the OsteoArthritic "Hospital" on Wellesley off Yonge St. in Toronto, Canada & only after the "simple, day surgery" was told later after a visit to my family doctor about osteoarthritis developing in the future as a result of the arthroscopic knee surgery! After tearing a meniscus and the leg swelling like a tree trunk down to the ankle, then scheduling the surgery after a "Doctor" at the local university sports clinic told me, literally red-faced, that I needed surgery! (which was cleverly sold to me by the operating surgeon Dr. Paul M. Toronto) which was scheduled 8-10 months after the initial injury, the knee and leg swelling went down within a few weeks, full flexibility (i. e. ankle able to touch back thigh) not yet as before the injury, but was much, much, much better by letting time and the body's own healing ability doing its job on its own, and all of this before the surgery! I should have listened to the inner voice and gotten up from the hospital bed that morning awaiting the anaesthetic before the Doc cut into me, even though as one of the hospital team informed me the procedures have become so advanced, "I would hardly see a scar on my leg".

If only I had known what I later learned from my G. P. even though I had specifically asked the operating doctor when I talked with him the one and only time before the surgery that I can expect osteo-arthritis in the knee as a result of the surgery.

I now know this case is not an isolated experience/incident and the guise of this needless procedure and its major consequences on one's life is the sole product of some professionally accredited liars.

I also, feel pain in my hip now on the same leg as the surgery (this reminded me of all of the ppl who were waiting at the hospital for hip replacements and I could not understand how the Creator would naturally make this to occur in our bodies solely on the basis of advanced years?

This I am sure is what is professionally opinioned to all seniors needing this done. Pls ppl do not believe the legalized scams of these professionally accredited con artists.

Good luck to all in your natural cures. Pls see the benefits and, yes, scientific studies done on the benefits of pimento oil (or "allspice" as many know from cooking a hearty meal) for osteo arthritic symptoms. I have not started using this yet as I have just found out about its reported benefits? Looks good, and seeming no need for worry about those pesky "side effects". Thanks.

To Toronto: "I also, feel pain in my hip now on the same leg as the surgery (this reminded me of all of the ppl who were waiting at the hospital for hip replacements and I could not understand how the Creator would naturally make this to occur in our bodies solely on the basis of advanced years?"

God did not do the above, it is our own selves that cause our problems in our bodies from all the crappy food we have been given through our young lives and then our choices when an adult. Herbs and spices are Gods healing medicine and that of ancient times. I wish I had know this long long ago, now I too suffer from OA of the spine in the form of DDD disc degenerative desease upper and lower spine. Spinal fusion does not work. I did research on it and it doesn't work. Disc replacement is new and the votes not in yet. Cherry's are very good in many ways see this site: http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/the-miraculous-properties-of-cherries-330530.html

And the one that mentioned coconut oil, yay for you a fellow believer in the powers of coconut oil, but get the good kind not the cheap stuff. And if you are in the country where they use it for fuel to replace diesel lucky you! I am in the US and no one has done it yet. I was taking 3 tbs a day of melted oil and don't worry it takes fine. I have been forgetting to do it and I feel awful... So I just started now and I am going to get some cherries no matter the cost or juice if I can find it.

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone. Lets heal ourselves and eat Gods way for good health shall we.

Walter Last provided this report on his website last year, with full information about borax (the natural, ionic form of boron), how to easily mix a diluted solution, and how much of it to take (costs pennies) - www.health-science-spirit.com/borax.htm. [Editor's Note; link no longer works]

As he advises, our soils are also depleted of magnesium. Calcium and magnesium are designed to work in partnership. Magnesium moves in and out of bones in order to hold the calcium in proper concentration. Excess calcium calcifies (ages) the joints, eyes, and organs without sufficient magnesium to calibrate it.

Dr Mark Sircus and also Dr Carolyn Dean confirm that, the best way to supplement magnesium is transdermally (through your skin). I started this 3 years ago and the changes were dramatic within a few days, because magnesium is critical for virtually every bodily function. None of my GP's ever told me!

This is very affordable. Some general practitioners use it to treat children with autism. Pharmacists know about our need for magnesium but most doctors do not (maybe because Pharmaceutical giants sponsor medical schools and influence the curriculum). Borax was removed from the EU market last year, even though it's only as toxic as table salt, so stock up now.

Hi, Cindy. Thank you very much for this information. Can you please tell me how much sea salt you add to your water and how many times you would drink this each day? Also, how would you factor in the sodium that a typical person eats on a day to day basis? Granted that the source is probably mostly iodized salt... but how often would you drink the water/sea salt? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure Cindy will respond, but in the meantime you may want to check out the water cure at http://www.watercure.com/

It gives you the ratio of sea salt (MUST be pure sea salt) and water, along with testimonials from people who have found relief from all sorts of disorders. Very interesting Web site and one of the ingredients is free (water) - the other isn't very expensive (pure sea salt - you only use a bit). Good luck!

The Water Cure

The Water Cure Recipe:
Drink 1/2 your body weight of water in ounces, daily. Example 180 lb = 90 oz. of water daily. Divide that into 8 or 10 oz. glasses and that's how many glasses you will need to drink, daily. Use 1/4 tsp. of salt for every quart of water you drink. Use salt liberally with food. As long as you drink the water, you can use the salt. Avoid caffeinated or alcoholic drinks. These are diuretics and will dehydrate you. Every 6 oz. of caffeine or alcohol requires an additional 10 to 12 oz. of water to re-hydrate you.

Organic Broccoli

I am writing a book on natural cures that the Lord has guided me to write. About 4 years ago I was watching Gary Null on P.B.S. talk about the value of eating organic foods. It seemed reasonable to do since organic foods aren't sprayed with pesticides and also, the soil is richer becuase of the rotation of crops and not using chemicals in the soil. So, I decided to start eating organic broccoli every day. Also ,at that time I had osteoarthritis in both of my knees. I was already eating regular broccoli so it was easy for me to make the switch. A month later after eating the organic broccoli daily, my two sore knees were no longer sore. Praise The Lord! I started telling everyone who had sore joints about this marvelous treatment. It didn't matter what joints were involved, the broccoli would get rid of the pain. I have a friend who told me that she had two very sore ankles for about a year for which her doctor had prescribed pain medication but the pain medication didnt work. I told her about the broccoli and before she tried it she asked her doctor what he thought about eating organic broccoli to get rid of her pain. He rediculed the idea. She decided to ignore his reaction and do the broccoli. Three days later, the pain the gone. Praise The Lord! Also, her husband had two sore shoulders and he was skeptical about the broccoli getting rid of her pain. But after he saw the quick results for her he decided to do the broccoli. Within a short time his shoulers were pain-free.

Diet and Exercise
Posted by Francisca (Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France) on 09/21/2011

Hi Hari, what I mean by electrodes are the electric wires with a plastic thing at the end that glues to your skin. Sorry if I used the wrong name..... You know, there are a lot of deviced like that, for example for muscle pain. I can't tell you what kinds they were, I know he used two different kinds, first one, then another one. I could give you his phone number in Lisbon, Portugal but I have no idea whether he speaks English. He goes a lot to Cuba for medical courses. If he doesn't speak English his assistant, a young man, might!

Posted by Sasha (Chicago, Il) on 09/21/2011

Hi Fran, if he doesn't speak English is it possible you can give him a quick call and ask what kind of electrodes they were? What exactly was he doing sending little jolts of electricity and at what frequency and can you aks him if the lay person can buy such a device and any books or website he recommends?

Diet and Exercise
Posted by Francisca (Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France) on 09/22/2011

Hi Sasha, I don't really remember whether he speaks English or not. I was there with my husband (who only speaks English) over a year ago to thank him for what he had done to me and to tell him how well it had turned out. I don't know whether he will tell you exactly what he did.... But please try to call, if you don't manage to get the information I can try but it would be better if you did because you know what questions to ask. He is called Dr. Orlando and the phone numbers are: landline - 214785342 / 214785350 and mobile: 934782606. Please take into account the differences in the hours but you can check that online. It is a shop so they will be open during normal shopping time I would say from 9am till 12 and 3pm till maybe 6pm. If you tell him that you heard from him from Francisca, who had the knee problem and later moved to France. I think that he will remember me.....

If this approach doesn't work I can try to phone him but again I can't promise he will answer my question. And if he doesn't speak English, which he might, his assistant will because he is quite young.

Dear Suzanne: Thanks for tip. I'm going to the shopping centre where the health food store is this afternoon....and I'll get some ginger root. My ankle is in bad shape. If it were a knee or a hip....I'd have a replacement.....but they can't do that very well at this point with ankles. When we return from Viet Nam I'm looking at ankle-fusion surgery. It's not quite as bad as it sounds. One still has some movement where the leg meets the foot......and the pain stops!
