I have to give credit where credit is due! I began having hot flashes and night sweats and it was miserable! Not exaggerating, every 1 1/2 hours around the clock! I always visit this website before I do anything else and found fellow sufferers talking about ACV. One in particular talked about ACV tablets. What a miracle! Again, not exaggerating.....within 2 days of taking the tablets every single hot flash and night sweat was gone!

I bought Apple Cider Vinegar 625 mg. tablets and I took 2 tablets in the morning, 2 in the afternoon and 2 about an hour before bed. I don't know how it works, but I don't care! It's been 6 months and I now tell everyone that I know about this! They are large and I have always had trouble with pills, but I find taking it with juice or soda followed by a glass of water works well. My coworker and sister in law are now true believers also! Thank you to all who take the time to post to this site!

I suffer from headaches and hot flashes due to fluctuating hormones (I'm 50). Tonight my headache had been particularly bad and I was thinking that I would not be getting very much sleep. After reading your post, I jumped up and made myself a drink of 2 TBS of organic apple cider vinegar, 1/4 tsp of baking soda and a small amount of agave nectar for taste. I then added a cup of purified water to it and drank. Almost instantly (literally ~30 seconds later) my headache was (and still is) gone. I don't even want to talk about it for fear it's all "in my head." But there you go. I feel awfully better!!!

re: Fountain of Youth-- I am 58 years old and I am still asked for an age ID when going into clubs. I have always looked much younger than I am - Here is what I have always done:

* Never take drugs of any kind - no aspirin, no antibiotics, no alcohol, no smoking, This is most important. *

I eat raw salads daily and use generous quantities of Apple Cider Vinegar - Organic - and Organic Olive Oil. Most of the food I consume is raw and occasionally I add a little cottage cheese or organic cheese in small amounts and about one time per month, I eat organic kefir or yogurt - The only cooked food I have is vegetable soup that I make from organic vegetables. I do NOT eat any grains, rice, beans etc. Everyone asks me where I get my protein. Apparently I don't need it.

* Still have not gone through menopause, my hair has no gray, my teeth are just like when I was young - I do yoga daily and callanetics and am very active physically. Most people I know are sick with all kinds of things and they run for a prescription immediately - this, I believe, was the biggest factor for me. Oh one more thing - I also use lots of fresh garlic daily in salads. This may sound difficult, but I find it extremely easy to live like this and cook so minimally. No grease in the kitchen!

8/21/08 Aging thru Menopause

People always thought my father was our brother because he was blessed with great genetics, looking 10 - 15 years younger than his age and for many years I was the same.

However, when I turned 50, all sorts of aging began to happen. Menopause brought 30 lbs of extra weight, dry, flaky rashy skin, under-active thyroid and bloated stomach, itchy-smelly-flaky scalp, weak tearing nails, diabetes, tinitis, skin rashes, weeping eyes, joint pain, gingivitis with 2 deep gum pockets, hair falling out and not growing, losing hair and eyebrows, lethargy, moodiness, unexplained anger, dark eye circles, insomnia, night sweats, smelly body and breath and the list goes on... Needless to say people were calling me MAAAM and treating me like I was an unattractive old lady. I'm not so vain that I want to be noticed all the time but I certainly did not want to be ignored. Looking for natural skin cleansing remedies, I found your site. Whoa, what a FIND. I have stayed up late almost every night just reading all the testimonials. I have so far tried: VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil), Oil Pulling, and ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar). The results are fantastic: Silky skin, stronger teeth, hair, nails. No joint pain, lessening of tinnitis, no skin rashes, increased energy, body and breath smells great, blood suger stabilizing, losing goiter/thyroid neck, stomach is going down (my husband says), dark spots and eye circles gone, no mood swings, feel happier, lost 3 pounds, teeth whiter and firmer with pink gums (still working on the 2 pockets), scalp itch is receding and my skin looks AMAZINGLY young!--- all of this has happened within these first 10 days! I asked my husband to check out my skin because he knows I constantly battle face rashes and he said, "It looks wonderful with that makeup you have on". I was not wearing any! And guess what? I feel attractive, never mind what others feel, I'm not ignoring ME! 10 days I tell you!

Even as things are getting better, my eyes still weeped and were glazy and itched like the dickins, I didn't want to put anything on them except eye drops which only brought relief for about 30 minutes. So, today I applied ACV onto a cotton ball and lightly swiped my closed eyelids. Instant relief! I could even see better; things were not so fuzzy and the constant redness started disappearing; so, this is a work in progress.

Here's what I do internally: I oil-pull 10-15 minutes every morning and evening. I drink 2 TABLSP of ACV in a mug (8oz) of water morning and evening (thru a straw). Around noon, when my energy usually lags, I take 1 tablspoon of VCO. Interestingly, it cuts my appetite and I find myself eating out of habit, not hunger.

Here's what I do externally: After shower, I spray ACV and water onto my skin, let dry, then apply coconut oil lightly all over, then use a light cologne. I apply ACV with a cotton ball onto my face, let it dry, then dab and rub VCO with water on it. I wear no makeup except filling in my eyebrows (until they grow back), and apply lipstick on top of VCO. Each morning I wake up expecting to see a change-back and I don't. Thanks a whole bunch!

I stopped my menstruation a year ago. I started black strap, and apple cider vinegar 1 month ago because my ankles were swollen, and redness was going up my legs. The apple cider and blackstrap did get rid of my swollen legs. I started a light period after 1 year of not having one. I said ''well hello''. I came to the conclusion that my body was so depleted of minerals that my body quit bleeding because it had nothing to give. I guess it will quit when it is ready to quit, I am not worried about it. I feel better than I have felt in years. If black strap was doing something to hurt me, then i would be feeling sickly. I feel young again. I don't suffer hot flashes anymore, my bones don't hurt, I am finaly able to loose weight. I have lost 25 pounds since I started blackstrap almost 2 months ago.i take it with apple cider vinegar, and warm water. Thank God for his wisdom of what is good for us.

I suffer from what I consider extreme hot flashes and night sweats. I don't sleep because of night sweats, so I get headaches its a vicious circle..... Until I started taking 2 tablespoons of ACV before bed and it's freaking amazing! The flashes are still there but have decreased by 95%. I wish I would have known about this 3 years ago. Thank you ACV you have given me back my life.

I'm so glad I found your website. I am 50 and going through SEVERE menopause. Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, hair loss, loss of memory etc. etc. I started the ACV about 5 weeks ago. I used a splash of ACV in ice water and drink glasses of it all day. By the 3rd week no more hot flashes. Then in my 5th week they came back almost as strong as before I started using the ACV. I couldn't figure it out. What had I done wrong? Went back to your website and I realized that I had not exercised the 4th week (I always exercise at least 2x a week). Too busy. I added baking soda (1/4 tsp)to the ACV water today and I love it. The salt in baking soda improves the taste of the ACV water. I'm back on track with the exercise. I've increased the splashes of ACV (approx. 2-3 Tbsp) I am a little worried about the amount of sodium in baking soda. My BP is perfect thank goodness. I also suffer from Allergy induced Asthma. I have not used an inhaler or taken a pill for that in 5 weeks. It's spring time here and everyone around me is suffering with allergies, but not me. Little aches and pains that I had are gone. I think that just as exercise helped us with PMS, exercise will help us with Menopause. My body might be fighting 3 things, Allergies, Asthma and Menopause. So I need to increase my fight. Exerecise, yes. Increase ACV, yes. Baking soda, yes but in limited amounts. I will keep you posted. Abby

Hemp Oil and Headstands

I am 52. In early Sep I was starting to have hot flashes. They lasted for only 3 minutes at a time, but I was concerned that they might get worse. I refuse to take HMT. ' I started standing on my head yoga-style. That seemed to rebalance my metabolism, as my weight normalized. (I looked on the web to find out how to do them. As long as the arms and hands are positioned right, yogic headstands are surprisingly easy to do. I had to start out with my knees bent, but after 2 weeks, I could straighten my legs and maintain the position for 2 minutes. It's now been a month, and I can do a headstand for 12 minutes.) I am now convinced that headstands are great for weight loss, as well as overall circulation. On 20 Sep I started oil pulling. That made my lips fuller and redder, and my eyes seemed less dry. Still I was having hot flashes. I tried one cold shower, but I just couldn't do it again. I stopped taking hot showers, adjusting the temperature to warm instead. In doing a web search on menopause, I realized that I probably was short of vitamin E in my diet. In searching the aisles of the health food section of the grocery store, I noticed that hemp oil was high in vitamin E. On 3 Oct I took a tablespoon of hemp oil. On 4 Oct I realized that I had not had a hot flash. On 5 Oct I realized that the sheets were dry all night and when I woke up. It seems that the nutrients found in hemp oil have cured me of hot flashes. I should mention that I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian, but I eat little dairy and am closer to a vegan. I avoid wheat. I take a capful of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water in the morning and at night. Sometimes I have more ACV and water throughout the day. Since I eat no fish, I take an iodine supplement. I also take a calcium supplement. I eat plenty of nuts a soynut butter. Apparently various things combine to help me through menopause, but the 2 most important things I've added seem to be hemp oil and headstands. Hope this info helps someone.

I first read about acv here when I had peri-menopause and that was a few years ago! Now I am entering menopause with fun(!) symptoms all ladies report. I started taking 1 teaspoon of acv first thing in the am before breakfast and within a week all symptoms dissipated. Besides that, I feel great with loads of energy. Very pleased.

For the past year, I have been a wreck! I am post-menopausal and the hot flashes and emotional ups and downs were making me feel like I was losing it. I wanted to edure this and go all natural, figuring this was a natural part of my body's process...I could not take this one more second. I went to see my Dr. and begged her for HRT's...anything to give me relief. She is a huge pill pusher so I was rather shocked when she told me to dring soy milk. I asked her about bioidentical therapy and her reply was, "drinking soy milk is bioidentical"... I know there will be those who disagree, I can only speak for myself. I started drinking about 8 oz of soy milk right away. For me, it has been nothing short of a miracle. I feel like a human being againl. The depression is gone and so are the hot flashes. If I do feel one coming on, I run and get about 4 oz in me and they immediately subside. I cannot tell you what a blessing this has been. I have not experienced one negative side effect. If this helps just one person who is suffering like I was, please give it a try.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking Soda

I was feeling very bad in many different ways (mostly from anemia) when I found your site. The most pressing problem I was having was high blood pressure and water retention that had come on quite suddenly and was making me feel like I might explode. The DR gave me meds, of course, they really weren't working (avg BP 160/95 with meds)and I thought I should try other methods rather than have him raise the dosage, and besides, why was I suddenly having this problem?

I had tried ACV along with my mother many years ago when I was a teenager to help with winter athritis and sore throats, but I had forgotten about it. So after reading about it on your site, I immediately started by having 2tbls ACV +1/4tsp baking soda and a little agave nectar for sweetner in a mug of hot water. Within a couple hours of my first mug I was up and about feeling better. My grown son could not believe the transformation. He happened to come by for a visit right when I was drinking that first dose and I changed right before our eyes. I'm so glad he was here to see it so I know I'm not imagining things. I continued using it at least twice a day. The first night I felt so good in my skin, it was wonderful. It took several weeks to get off the BP meds, I had only been on them several weeks before starting ACV so I think I had not become dependent on them. Other people should be very careful about changing their BP meds, DR should monitor this. The water retention problem got better and better each day and finally disappeared after a couple weeks. Last BP check at DRs was 135/85, not bad.

Amazingly, and without me expecting it, my hot flashes that had appeared with a vengence at the same time as the high BP, completely disappeared at that first mugful. It took me a couple days to realize it, but I have not had one since, not ONE hot flash since, and they were rolling in just about one an hour, and believe me they were very thoroughly HOT.

I very patiently waited before writing in to you, and it is over 5 months later now, and I have my mug once a day or more, even while staying away from home (I have been sad to leave organic ACV behind in hotel rooms because I don't know of a good way to travel with it by air). I believe my digestion is better and elimination more regular though I would not have said before that I was particularly troubled in that area. It helps my overall sense of well-being. I can certainly tell if I haven't had some for a day-- I just feel off without it.

I have to add, though, sometimes my ACV doesn't sound good, it kind of hits my stomach funny, gives me a hollow feeling, and sometimes I feel like it heats me up, not quite a hot flash, but not desirable for someone who's had too many hot flashes. I don't know what this aversion is all about, but I manage to make myself have some, even if just a more diluted version of it and in cooler water. I am always glad that I did. After reading more, I think I will try the baking soda in water alone, or the lemon juice with baking soda in water next time the ACV just doesn't sound good.

Thank you so much for this site. I am determined to continue trying things until I feel like I remember I once felt--really well and useful.

I have been suffering from hormone disruption that I believe was caused by exposure to environmental toxins. I started having hot flashes 2 1/2 years ago. It took me a while to make the connection between toxins and my body because of my age (in 40's). Anyway, always an advocate of natural remedies, I tried maca. It worked like a dream and my hot flashes disappeared for a few months. Then they returned and the maca no longer worked. To make a long story short, I've tried many different herbs and natural formulas, nothing has worked. I found this site and eagerly tried drinking organic ACV twice daily. I can't remember the amount, I think 1 or 2 tablespoons in water. It worked for one day. What's worse is that it had a HORRIBLE effect on my teeth. Plaque and sensitivity increased. (I have now started oil pulling organic unrefined coconut oil and even after the first time, the plaque on the my teeth that I used to feel with my tongue, has disappeared. What a God-send! I thought that it was downhill all the way, concerning my teeth).

Anyway, after a week of still having hot flashes and feeling my teeth degrade (even after brushing my teeth after drinking the ACV AND also using a straw), I gave up on it. Maybe because the root of my issue is toxins and not a natural reproductive process, the ACV and other remedies are not working. What I have found is that some things work for one day. It's like my body would be curious about the new substance and take a break from producing hot flashes to spend time dealing with the new substance, then, once it figured it out, go back to making the hot flashes. In doing research, I've discovered that my liver has probably been overworked. I now eat a very plain cleaning diet of veggies, fruits, nuts and beans. I think I am overly yang and need to become more yin. I also plan to renew my yoga practice because I know that yoga is SUPER for the liver (especially any forward bend). I can't do a stronger cleanse because it over works my liver causes a greater hormonal imbalance. I also started drinking a quart of sage and milk thistle tea a day. After 2 months of this diet and tea, my hot flashes have been reduced. Now it just seems like I have "heat sensitivity" where if it's hot (and it's been over 90) I get a flash. But if I feel cool, I'm fine. Lastly, along with the hot flashes, the sweating odor was a nightmare. I learned here about using 1/2 of a fresh organic lime to rub over my body (where it was sweating), wait 10 minutes and shower. This has been FANTASTIC! I also use an all natural organic lemongrass soap or the popular peppermint castille soap. But even if I run out of the soap and use another, the lime has performed a miracle. Limes have antibacterial properties that prep my body so that the sweating doesn't create funk.

I became aware of high blood pressure about a month ago and at that time realised it may have been running high for many months. I had had a high reading twice at the dentist but didn't realise it was of concern. My husband monitors his BP so I had him take mine and it was 132/95. That was exactly four weeks ago. I immediately cut salt out of my diet and probably get less than 500 mg of sodium all day. I cut out sugar in most all forms and began eating lots of veg and fruit, I try to swim and do yoga most days or workout at the gym. I started drinking 2 tsp ACV with honey and distilled water 2 - 3 times a day. Initially with the honey my BP spiked high again and I had a day of feeling really bad. I switched to sweetening the vinegar with stevia and after four weeks my bp reading today was 104/68 - it has been steadily decreasing since the first day of altering my lifestyle. It has read as low as 98 /64. The biggest reductions seem to come from the ACV and from hot yoga. I do feel wonderful, best I've felt in years . The ACV has cleared up an annoying allergy that I have had for at least two years now. I have been doing oil pulling too for the past couple weeks and it also seems to help. Not quite sure which is doing which but I know I have more energy , better focus in addition to the bp reduction. I am 51 and have fewer symptoms from menopause as well.

I was having insomnia, dry eyes, liver pain, bloated, rash, weight gain of eight pounds hot flashes, cholesterol was high 250, uneasy feeling brain fog, and all of this was which was triggered from hormones, I hired two doctor, ND /MD and a nutritionist. My estrogen was really low. All my hormones were low . My doctor put me on plant-based hormones. Levels were checked a couple times to be sure my hormones were balanced. This stopped the hot flashed in it's tracks.

I started taking flax seed oil, sprinkled milled flax seed sprinkled on my food. I found a good quality multi-vitamin, mineral supplement, a bone, collagen supplements and good probiotics. With probiotics it is good a take a few different kinds. My doctor told me to get blue light filter computer glasses because the computer blue light messes with the body's internal clock the body thinks it is day instead of night which sets off a chemicals in the body.

I stopped eating after dark, because stress hormones are secreted causing blood pressure to not decrease during sleep which should normally happen, but body remains on high alert like it is during the day time instead of relaxing I used to stay up late which messes up your cortisol and hormones and this is what causes weight gain, Now I go to bed at 9:30pm on the dot, this is so important for the body to get adequate deep sleep.

I dropped the eight pounds plus two more pounds so ten pounds altogether. I'm a vegetarian, found that eating more of 85-90% raw vegan diet helped me so much I feel so much better, lighter and more aware. I eat Non Gmo organic foods. I realize everyone is different but for me it is perfect fit. My yoga practice is better, my mind is super clear, feel a deep inner peace. I do rebound 10 minutes. I also do an inversion board ten minutes a day it keeps me young and fresh looking, help my back stay aligned. We all age, it is important to really understand what is happening to the body and give it all the things it needs to stay healthy, and vital
