Natural Remedies for Lyme Disease

Bee Venom
Posted by Tommy (North York, On, Canada) on 09/10/2010

Hi everyone, I just want to share with you an information about the bee venom and Lyme disease. The Bee venom contains a peptide called Melittin and this peptide has shown to have a very potent antimicrobial activity against Borrelia. spp as well as Candida spp and mycobacteria spp. I don't know if there is a remedy using the bee venom but it seems promising as an alternative for the sufferer with Lyme disease.

It is estimated that as much as 80% of people diagnosed with fibromyalgia have Lyme disease. This is a bacterial infection caused by the bite of a deer tick. Also there are secondary infections that go along with it as well. Finding a doctor that can correctly diagnose you is a problem however. I was chronically ill for 14 years before I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. I currently drink Goji Juice. Diet and nutrition are very important. Foods such as dairy and wheat can contribute to inflammation. I also found that nightshades like tomatoes, potatoes, red and green peppers affect my joints.

It's very likely both you and your son have Lyme. I have it and my son has it who also is on the autism spectrum. I suspect all of his symptoms are caused by Lyme. Please find an ILADS doctor to test and treat.

I've had lyme 16 months that I know of. Been on doxycycline 6 months...helped but still sick. Started Biaxin and Plaquinil on the 16th of December and I feel soooo much better already. I hope it knocks it out all the way...

Lyme Disease-Ted do you have a remedy for Lyme Disease? I suspect that this maybe what I have. Pain in my shoulder blade-Pain in my hip- Knee- and ankle with some swelling and it's all on my left side. I have taken Organic ACV and it has relieved the pain and I am functional again. I do not want to go through a series of antibiotics that is recommended.

Sadly Lyme tests even Igenex are not accurate. I tested with Igenex but too soon, so nothing showed on tests or subsequent tests. Did doxy for 6 weeks, then another round after short break for three weeks and it did not knock lyme out. Went back and did ceftin, azithromycin with flagyl pulsed for six weeks. It was rough out stomach which emptied 8 times every morning, but it was worth it. Lyme was in knee, shoulder, neck, hands and chest and heart. Not to be messed around with. Get antibiotics.

I have had twice. The first doxy worked then I used Buhners herbs to get rid of residual. Doxy did not work second time because what I thought was sciatica was not and lyme progressed. The second time left me with the inability to lift my leg and arm, and excruciating pain in the knee and horrible pins and needle in hand and arms. Also numb arms at night to the point I would have to punch them to get feeling.

Herbs are fine for some things, but get antibiotics.

Hi,

I have lyme and my neck really hurts, it feels gravelly neath the skin crusty under the skin and painful, my neck jerks at times. I am also super tired and not sleeping well. I feel kind of achey and almost virusy, no fever or coughing.

My head droops, I don't use recreational drugs or booze ever and have not for a gazillion years. I do take gabapenitin, 150 mg for mood problems and 87.5 of trazodone both before bed, and deep sleep 2 -3 caplets with passion flower, valerian, etc and sleep thru 1-2 capsules.

I also have poor digestion, lots of loose very stinky stools big dumps of poop, mostly loose occas actual diahreah, a little constipation at times, reflux, occas heart burn, bloating, belching bad breath ibs. I am pretty sure I have parasites, itchy anus, feel hungry after I eat, I eat zero sugar ( I do eat fruit, or honey etc, no flour no wheat almost no soy, no corn, no junk food.

I have neuropathy in legs lower part, not from diabetis, very itch scalp, skin is too pale, dont feel I get much nutrtion from my food, tend to feel resentful and angry and loads of anxiiety that is always there, have lots of mercury fillings, trying to get money to have a holistic dr remove them.

I have long term vaginal infection, not sexually active with others for many years, mostly the pain and diges problems and exhaustion is wearing on me.

I have tried salt and vit c, does it need to be a certain kind of vit c, or do you have other suggestion, I feel so tired and scared. I don't have alot of money and taking loads of supplements has not helped. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Lilah

So it took another year to get antibiotics. I couldn't find a Dr. that would treat me or a company that would ship them into this country. My neck & knee pain is very severe. I know I have osteoarthritus in both so I get confused & think that's what it is but I have pain ALL over & extreme + the food allergies, & allergies to everything in the air & the digestion, & the addisons, & the thyroid problems, & the IBS, & the can't sleep, & the extreme fatigue, + the diagnosis of viruses, the lyme, cysts, biofilm, molds, h pylori, 3 forms of mycoplasma. I can't take the herbs. I react to nearly everything. I've been on antibiotics for 6 mths with no herx & no sense it is making any difference. I got some dapsome which is being used for lyme. Now there's a reaction!!! I only take 1/4 tab but I don't know if I can keep this up. I want to die everyday as it is. When you've been sick for 1/2 your life it's not that unusual to get dropped by everybody. But although I am too sick to take care of myself I am caring for someone who is being treated for cancer, caught early & his chances are good. It is very confronting when for 25 yrs you are told there is nothing wrong with you, you are left without a home or treatment, locked up in a psyche ward and now I'm watching someone with no less than 6 docs & an IV bag of antibiotics (that I can't get).

Hydrogen Peroxide
Posted by Michael M (Jupiter, Florida, USA) on 02/28/2012

Hi Peggy, I have Lyme and live in Jupiter. I have used H2O2 with some immediate success for neurological issues of Lyme and seemingly helping with some of the co-infection. However, I am not sure it helps with parasites, such as Babesia (biting and throbbing symptoms for me). Some say they Babesia likes oxygen, therefore it could possibly make Babesia worse with H2O2 or ozone (O3). Although I worry about its oxidative side effects, I have dripped store bought 3% peroxide down my spine and rubbed it on my back, arms, legs and joints when I was scared I could lose my nerves and body parts to Lyme. Peroxide did help.

I also took 35% food grade peroxide, diluted it 10/1 with distilled water, and take 5-8 drops of that in 8oz of distilled water over the course of a day, and that too seems to help with brain fog. I am worried about taking it often, so I use it only a few times a week, as needed.

Essential oils, such as Lemon Grass may have been just as good lately (just started them 10 days ago). My oil specialist is Eileen "Connie" Linne, [email protected]. She is knowledgeable about alternatives and beauty (has an ozone machine) and also uses and sells various health products like super strong essential oils (not in stores, that I have seen) and Jusuru, both of which I am preferring for the time being.

I can tell you all I've done and what works and doesn't if interested. I have a RIFE machine which I think everyone with Lyme or any chronic condition needs because it works fast for acute symptoms, if not yet a cure. You just have to stay at every few days. But you can have big die offs from it and you can certainly get frequency stress which can wire you out for a day or two if you do the treatment for many hours at a time as I do once or time a week.

I am currently planning on trying "Advanced Cell Training" (see YouTube or Google), which many people with Lyme have apparently been cured by. It's cheap in comparison to many other protocols and totally natural.

There is a Acupuncturist, Ward Hale, A. P. In Down Town, Palm Beach Gardens (in back of Whole foods) who has some great testing equipment called ZYTO and advanced many diode laser treatment device that are also very strong. I do those treatments once or twice a week. They are amazing if you have very strong localized symptoms in specific organs or areas, and it stops those roaming issues almost immediately. Ward's prices are very reasonable, and he and his wife or partners, Lourdes, are both warm and knowledgeable. Their number is 561-337-9439, website is www.IPlanetHealth.com. Tell them Michael sent you. If you wish to talk to me, ask them to contact me.

Hello Whiskers:

Thank you for your excellent and "packed with info" post on Lyme disease.

Of special interest to me is the fact that there are so many "co-infections" with Lyme. Does your research reveal if there are so many co-infections because the Lyme bacteria facilated them (weakened immune system?) or perhaps the original infestation from the bite brought them like a spider bite, for instance, brings not only the poison but accompanying pathogens too.

And could you explain what "zyto" is.

I've come across a few suspected Lyme cases. One after a friend and his wife went hiking and he immediately developed a rash on the back of his shoulder. The stiffness moved into the neck and he lost most energy. He became unable to work. He went to 4 specialists (over three or four months) but no one could conclusively prove Lyme. It is ellusive.

He could barely exert himself and he'd have to go to bed for a long rest if he even walked down the street. I suggested colloidal silver to him and he got on an extensive program of morning and evening consumption of CS. In his case the results were dramatic; in five days his energy was returning and in a months he'd gone back to work and in three months he was asymptomatic.

He attributed the CS to his recovery.

Have you tried CS? You listed a number of helps but I didn't see CS. I always warn, by the way, that at least in my experience the CS products are NOT alike and one must have sufficient PPM to work correctly. I usually test them when there is a sinus infection. If sniffing into the sinus a teaspoon of the CS causes the sinuses to sting a bit and then drain, you know the CS you have is potent enough to work elsewhere in the system.

Please re post and give more details about your battle with CS. Your are quite knowledgable and I would appreciate your contribution to the readers who are interested in Lyme.

Orange and Lemon Diet
Posted by Lisa (Spokane, Wa) on 05/16/2010

the skins of lemons, lines & oranges have an essential oil that is toxic to heaps of micorganisms & parasites and largely non toxic to mammals. the citric acid stimulates the citric acid cycle to detox. sounds like a great combination. it is also alkalizing as the acids when metabolized have a net result in increased alkalininty.

raw & organic are the two considerations, chemicals from herbacides, pesticides, etc that might be on the skin could be a problem - so use organic only.

Orange and Lemon Diet
Posted by Paul (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) on 07/30/2012

I essentially did the same thing only with lemons. But first, over 3 days, I did the vitamin C, salt and water cure for Lyme. I was roughly 150 pounds so I injested throughout the day, 8 grams (that's right, grams. ) of vitamin C, 8 grams of salt, and 8-10 glasses of water. Over the course of 3 days I 'diarehead' it out. My symptoms fell away like butter. I essemtially stick to a gluten free, whole foods diet, with very limited grains and potatoes, always careful to keep my body as alkaline as possible, eating apples or slices of apples throughout the day. A year later, I did the lemon cure with apples and mastic gum for my decades old stomach condition. My stomach has never been better. I essentially stick to a blood type diet (O positive in my case) which is essentially paleo. Although I prefer to think of it as more neo-lithic. Fruits, veggies, meat and fish with limited grains. In fact, for my grains, I am still eating the odd Kamut bread but am hoping to go more raw food and sprouted grains. I try to limit my eggs to once or twice a week and goat's milk 2-3 times max per week, with goats yogurt for smoothies. But whole foods and keeping alkaline and eating an anti-inflamatory diet is the key for me. Since I am not completly raw foods I enjoy curry and the wonders of turmeric, etc. My 'indian dosha' is pitta-vatta. The links between different healing systems are like connecting the dots. Neverthless, it was the vitamin C, Salt and water cure over 3-4 days that saved me from my Lyme disease which had reached the point of encaphlitis. Now, I just have a very lingering tinnitus, which generally regular apple consumption and the occassional lemon peel help from time to time. Best of luck.

That's so interesting that you found orange and lemon diet worked. About 10 years ago, I came across some information that the peel of calamansi oranges was a cure. I just tried to google search it and can't find it anywhere on the internet except for your post here. I believe it must work. Also, I did find that orange is used as a repellant for ticks, so the ticks must not like orange/lemon for a reason.

If you even think that you have lyme disease, make sure you see a doctor. This disease is not treatable with any natural or herbal remedy. You need serious antibiotics and a lot of them. Even if you do go see a doctor, they are not always up to date with this disease. YOU have to do a lot of research for yourself and MAKE the doctor listen to you. If that doctor won't listen, find a new one. I developed lyme in 2009. The symptoms started showing up months after I had been bitten. When it got to the point when I knew something was seriously wrong I went to the Dr. The first appointment she ran blood work and showed that my white blood cell count was a little elevated and I had a fever. She said it was just a light grade infection and would go away on it's own. I went 2 weeks and of course no improvement. I went back to the Dr. I complained of no energy, aching body, mental fatigue. She had the audacity to refer me to a mental health specialist. I went home angry. There was no way in heck this was a mental health issue. I got on google and started looking for my symptoms and came across lyme disease. I also remember getting bitten by a tick earlier in the year. I did not have the bullseye rash. By this time I was in pretty rough shape. I stayed in bed most of the time and I could hardly come up with the proper words to even form a sentence. I made another appointment with the doctor. I insisted that she test me for lyme disease. Reluctantly, after informing me that lyme does not exist in the Memphis, TN area she drew the blood and sent the sample off to the lab. She also, wisely prescribed Doxycycline. 2 weeks later lab results confirmed lyme disease. By then I had done TONS of research. When I went back in for the follow up she still had no clue on the proper treatment. I had reems of paper with me with information on treatments and other peoples experiences. Luckily she took that into consideration and WE laid out a good course of treatment. I also made an appointment with an infectios disease specialist and honestly I had the same results with that Dr. "I've never really seen anyone with lyme" type of thing.

When taking antibiotics you're going to have a reaction to it. You're going to feel like you are 2 breaths from death. They call it herxing. It's a reaction of the dying bacteria giving off a toxic substance that you won't tolerate well. Truthfully, It just sucks!! You'll have to power through the 2-3 weeks of hell to get better. It's been 2 years since this has happened to me and honestly I'm still not 100%. The biggest complaint that I have is anxiety. I NEVER had anxiety problems before this. Now it's a constant problem. I believe this disease can do damage to areas of your brain or at least change the way some things work. I do feel a lot better though and am thankful for the antibiotics.

So, if you're just finding out that you have Lyme disease or you think you have lyme disease, Make sure you do your research and make sure you are firm with your doctors. This disease is not a joke. I wish you the best of luck and remember, this thing will change your life. Just try to stay in control and remember that things will get better.

Brian.

hi, Is the salt c safe to take? I just took 1 tsp vit c, and 1tsp pink salt and the pain in my neck and back got worse. I have lymes and am treating it with herbs. I don't want to stop the herbs as the virus is going down steadily, but am utterly exhausted and in great pain.

Under the skin of my neck shoulders it's all gravelly and stringy/ropey. It feels kind of lumpy, like its not smoothe under the skin. The skin looks ok, but it feels bad. I got some acupunture yesterday and guasha- and a reg massage the day before, however it feels worse not better, more irrititated lumpy etc.

I also have a bad malevolent kind of feeling. Any ideas?

Thanks serach

This sounds very positive and hopeful! I have also been battling with systemic candida and parasites for quite some time now and sometimes have wondered if it would ever get back into balance, as I have tried so many things. I have recently started taking the MP regularly. Can you tell me what dosage you were taking? Also, my sister is currently battling with Lymes - can you give me the name of the company and website you mentioned? I am in the UK but my sister lives in the USA, so could probably order them from there. Oh, and what was in your green juice? Hope you don't mind all the questions!

So happy for you to have successfully healed after all those years - it's very inspiring for me! 👍😃🙏

I believe I have had lyme disease (ld) for 4 years. The test from Igenex said I came in contact with the disease although I can't get a firm diagnosis, at least not from any doctor here. I never had the rash but I have a bruise on my back that I've had for at least two and a half years now. I had a lot of the symptoms attributed to ld following a night where I woke up with flu like symtoms. Since then I've been to Jamaica and was bit by sand fleas. These bites come and go. I don't know if that's because of the lyme or not. I am currently taking pre and probiotics, enzyme supplements, omega 3, b12, d3, and I recently started sarsapirilla, cat's claw and lysine. If anyone has any other suggestions I would really appreciate them. The biggest problem I have right now is inflammation in my joints.

I have been battling inflammation in my joints, especially my spine and ribs, since the birth of my son 9 years ago. I have tried many things, with moderate improvement, but once I started taking Apple Cider Vinegar and Baking soda I noticed an immediate and noticeable improvement. I'm still taking my other stuff ... curcumin (good for lyme), minerals, especially Magnesium and boron (good for arthritis). I take gelatin (building block of joints and tendons) in my green tea (antioxidant) so there could be a cumulative affect.

However, I noticed the biggest improvement after adding ACV and BS. Oh, I recently ordered some liposomal vit C, after seeing the segment on 60 minutes about the guy from New Zealand who they wanted to unplug life support and vit C brought him back from the dead. I haven't gotten it yet, but want it to combat that new respiratory virus that is so bad. Let me see if I can find the link. here it is.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrhkoFcOMII

Thank you for the info here. I'm trying to research all I can. I do have olive colored skin (bruise on my back). After waking up in the middle of the night with flu-like symptons, the next morning I couldn't pick up a cup of coffee with my right wrist (pain). I also had the following symptons, stiff neck, sore jaw {right side}, ringing in my ear, both knees were swollen, a zapping pain in my left ankle that would shoot up my leg, and a burning sensation in my right elbow.

I couldn't stand for the pain in my feet. (just listing some of my symptons) This went on for months. Tests for rheumatoid arthritis were negative. Neurological tests showed an irritation in my right elbow. I can't even tell you how many tests I had all showing everything to be normal.

The only thing that's ever shown in blood test is the contact with lyme diseaseI started seeing a chiropractor and he has helped me a great deal. I have also seen three naturopathic doctors. Everything the last ND gave me made me worse. He was treating me for thyroid disease. And now I'm on my own. I no longer have the pain I initially had, although it occasionally comes back. Medical doctors tell me I have rheumatoid arthritis. (Even though tests showed negative) Although they can't explain my other symptons. I still have the ringing in my ear and inflammation in my knees. Bee pollen has really helped with the inflammation. But it doesn't get rid of it.

Multiple Remedies

You have some infections of some kind. You may never know definitively what that infection is. You didn't mention cognitive symptoms so I don't think it is lyme disease. The symptoms wouldn't seem like a thyroid thing either.

The inflammation in knees could be rheumatoid arthritis. Your feet could hurt too. Mycoplasma infection has been associated with that. Try the borax protocol. Minocin (not generic minocycline) would be the next thing.

The shocks in legs and burning would be a type of peripheral neuropathy. Look into benfotiamine, sublingual b12, stabilized R alpha lipoic acid.

The way you go about improving your health is by hypothesizing something and trying an antidote.

Inflammation from all causes involves certain cytokines (chemical messengers). Some simple herbal blockades of inflammation I have found very useful are Nettle, Frankincense, Chinese Skullcap, Safflower petals, ginger root, Turmeric with a little black pepper, celery seed extract (homemade with Vodka) and borage oil with either wild fish oil or grass-fed beef fat (can be kept frozen). Hope this helps, Love in Jesus!

Hello Yochana,

Have you ever tried candida/parasite remedies? My son was very ill. By 8th grade he missed 14 weeks of school. He had a lot of what you have and more. So much pain in his neck and shoulders and all over really, but started in his neck and shoulders. Diagnosed with severe sinus disease, asthma, it was suggested he had chronic fatigue syndrome then diagnosed with fibromyalgia. He had extreme headaches, severe insomnia, dizziness, extreme fatigue always getting canker sores in his mouth, swollen bottom lip, brain fog and the list goes on. We had every blood test that exists and no one could say what was wrong with him. The doctor's would just diagnose each symptom as a separate issue.

A client of mine told me about someone his friend went to that he thought was amazing. He was an acupuncturist that practiced Chinese medicine. After just a few minutes with him, he diagnosed him with systemic candida. He put him on a strict diet along with some herbs. After all we went through we were a little doubtful about what would happen. But that was really it. It took about 3 weeks for him to start feeling better. But we stuck to the diet to the letter. And my son was desperate enough to stick to it too. It took about 5 mos. for him to feel healed, but he is now a sophomore has only missed a couple of days of school, takes a strength and conditioning class, can blow 450 in a spirimitor (if you know what that is in the asthma world) when he used to barely make 325 and each additional blow would drop from there, he sleeps like a teen should(like a rock and for 9-10 hours on weekends), he is full of energy and is a different person. It was a nightmare that is finally over for us. If this sounds like anything you are going through, I would be happy to tell you more.

Wishing you the best, Grateful Mother

Hello Yochana,

About the Lyme possibility ... I've had a few experiences with Lyme; two very successful and one questionable.

Colloidal Silver is worth of trying for two weeks. If the CS is "on" you'll fee the difference in seven days or less. The energy will come back fast...you'll feel like yourself again...BUT be careful, you are on thin ice.

CS irrigations ... sinus and ears. Three tablespoons am and pm on empty stomach orally.

Post back if you need details.

Probiotics

Anyone here with lymes disease? I am wondering about use of the probiotic streptococcus thermophilus that is in most yogurts. I've heard that it shouldn't be taken if you have a immune suppressant illness. I don't eat yogurt (dairy sensitive) but the streptococcus thermophilus is in some probiotics. Help? Thanks so much for this fabulous site/everyone's help.

Don't have lyme disease that I know of, but if you can't tolerate dairy, you could try water kefir maybe for the probiotic benefit.

I have done a lot of research on Lyme. I was so sure I had it I had four different tests all negative. But I want to say it is crucial that you get the right doctor and right medication early before it is deeply embedded in the body, tissues etc. because it is harder to eradicate later on.. So I think natural stuff combined with western medicine is the only way to go, but act quickly. The problem with lymes is the waiting for the antibodies to build.

Lyme Disease: I was tested 7 times by my general practitioner. It was not until I found a Lyme specialist that I was tested by Igenex and it came in positive but by then it was 2 years and I was in a chronic state. 2 years of antibiotics and naturopathic and I'm finally able to function.

Hi, I wonder if I have lymes.. Around my shoulder and neck, it hurts like crazy, also on the sides of my stomach, it feels gravelly under the skin and also almost hard and crunchy, the pain feel kind of electric, I am also very exhusted, cant sleep well, digest problems and neurological problems-neuropathy in legs and feet, not from diabetes, tremor in my hands and I feel off balance, its not visible, but feel like I could almost fall. I also have mood swings.

Does that sound like lymes or something else? Thanks.

Good Lyme advice. As for Immunity Building, if I might add, the Thymus Gland is also very important. The Thymus gland is like the brain of the immune system as it is involved in both production and regulation of immune or white blood cells. Thymus function decreases significantly w/ age so any method to augment it is definitely recommended especially those suffering chronic infections.

To boost the Thymus do these little exercises on a daily basis and significantly boost your immune power. First, use some type negative pole magnet (the side that sticks to metal) over the Thymus, which is directly between the lower neck and heart area; a common refrigerator magnet will do just fine; do this for approx 15 minutes. Second, do the "Thymus Tapp" by making a fist and gently bump the T area a few times and wait a little then bump again several times daily. Thirdly, supplement Raw Thymus Glandular as recommended on label.

Should I take antibiotics? If so, what kind and dose? Is there a clinic in Mexico you would recommend. Due to a deathly mould allergy, I'm afraid to travel almost anywhere humid, but I'm terrified this bug will be horrendous. I battled morgellons a few years ago and won with borax thanks to ted.... seemed like a bad science fiction novel but nothing compared to this pain.... and it's only just begun. I'm alone and terrified.

Nystatin
Posted by Believe (Houston, Texas) on 03/15/2011

Hello,
I would like to let you know of a treatment I went on for a systemic yeast infection. I used essential oils in a double 00 capsule: 10 drops of thieves oil, 4 drops of frankincense, 4 drops of oregano oil. WOW what a difference a few days makes. I have been dealing with this for 6 yes and I think I am finally turning the corner. I had a major detox reaction that kicked my "---" for three days, but I am getting stronger every day. I am also mixing these oils with jojoba carrier oil and I am rubbing my skin down daily. Also using thieves and rubbing directly on spine 2 times per day. I feel like I am among the living once again!!!! Obviously, diet is critical, NO SUGAR!! Oh yea Probiotics, Probiotics!! I think the safety profile for the oils is safer than Nystatin, anyway perhaps this is another option for you. I hope this helps anyone like it did me!! As with any treatment check for allergies and make sure you are strong enough to handle the detox, if you are too weak it can seriously harm you, so adjust your internal dose accordingly (I did every 4 hrs, but again this really knocked me down with the detox reaction).

Nystatin
Posted by Aneta (Murrieta, Ca) on 12/01/2011

Interesting information on Nystatin. I was googling Nystatin and ran across this post. I stopped antibiotic treatment recently because they were killing me and have started herbal treatments along with antifungals. My LLMD suggested we kill the fungal before we attact the Lyme. I started nystating today after 7 days of just herbal and I feel awful. The nystatin is killing something and I feel achy, twitching, headache and lethargic. Is it killing the lyme or is this just a die off of fungal giving me this reaction? I was on nystatin with all the antibiotics and feeling terrible. After reading this post I wonder if it was the nystatin killing Lyme all along.

Nystatin
Posted by A_glade (New York, Ny) on 05/08/2012

Please stop spreading disinformation. Nystatin is an antifungal compound from bacteria, not a "yeast". I do not know where you get your information, but if you don't even know the basics (which you could find out in 2 seconds by reading Wikipedia), you are definitely not qualified to give out medical advice and I fear the disservice you are doing to others. I am frightened by this growing trend of medically illiterate people spreading myths and lies. You're as bad as the snake oil salesmen who are profiting from inventing things like "systemic yeast."

Nystatin
Posted by Ali (Wales, Uk) on 11/23/2013

If someone has been taking Nystatin for over 30 years then at best it is only ever a temporary relief. It doesn't kill the microbes, it just knocks them back a bit.

Changing the diet has the biggest effect. Within 18 months on a gluten-free, low carb all natural unprocessed diet I was no longer a walking fungus-factory. Having enough good sea salt and vitamin C in the diet makes a big difference too. Changing the environment within the body has the greatest effect on the outcome.

Dietary Changes

Goji berries are increasingly popular because of their high antioxidant content. However, this fruit is part of the nightshade family of plants. Other berries, such as ashwagandha, an herb used in Ayurvedic medicine, Cape gooseberries, but not normal gooseberries, ground cherries and garden huckleberries, but not blueberries, are also considered nightshades.

I think diet may be the key to it all. Glad you mentioned such. I have been dx with Tourestte's (from very early childhood), and SLE (lupus). A firend of mine thinks it's all Lyme disease. My son has Tourette's too. I was actually bitten by deer ticks in the Blue Ridge mountains years ago, as was my dog. For years we had the same symptoms, and were on the same meds! Finally, a vet tested her, and she was positive for Lyme's disease. I don't remember being tested, but have been on very long courses of abx over the years for different things. It's all about inflammation with me. If I could take away the inflammation, everything would be fine. Many food, and so many enviro toxins make me sick. My joints ache just thinking about bread. My sweet little boy tics like a clock, and has depression adn emotional problems. He also has learning/cognitive issues, and poor muscle tone. My friend who is involved with Lyme research says that I probably passed it to him when I was pregnant. Is there anything I can do to help him? I am resigned to my disablility, but he is so young and suffering.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Lugol's Iodine
Posted by Linzie B. (Myrtle Creek ,or) on 01/28/2014

Ok, I re-read what was said about having Lyme their WHOLE life, and again , if you had it your whole life , swollen gums would be the least of your worries!!! And a dose of Iodine and some ACV is not going to do anything for you, may help for that day to relieve symptoms. But people do die every day from Lyme. You should be scared of this enough to tell every person you care about more than once ...People cannot get rid of this disease now. I've seen people "Think" they've rid their body of it, only to have it return with a vengeance, also it can lay dormant in some for years. But to not take it very seriously is a huge mistake.

I like it. Cut to the chase- is there any treatment? For those caught early antibiotics work. 25 yrs without a diagnosis I've watched a woman my age who has had it same time as me go to another country to get hyperthermia only for it to return with a vengeance, IV antibiotics for 2 yrs, an LLMD through a uni were trialling a very expensive tea tree oil, made her very sick, me suicidal. I was ready to jump off the 8th floor balcony. I am so scared this is it.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Lugol's Iodine
Posted by Fred (Canada) on 06/19/2018

No need to be scared, just some common sense. If you are seriously ill you can start with amoxicillin for 2 or 3 weeks. no need to take longer abx treatment because it is quite damaging to liver and kidneys. After the amoxil treatment you can use ciprofloxacin for 1 week. probably with the cipro you will have quite a herx reaction(s), it means the abx kills the nasty bacteria. first you should address babesia problem with zithromax, after that bartonella with ciprofloxacin and later borrelia with minocycline. the borrelia replication cycles are quite slow, thus need to use pulse abx treatment for quite longer periods in order to eradicate the pathogen 100%. MBC are different for different antibiotics, for borrelia abx gemifloxacin is quite good and ceftriaxone IV too. for cystic forms grape seed extract or grapefruit seed extract plus kelp, monolaurin and royal Jelly.

If you think you have Lyme you need treatment. I don't have it but I've researched this. Please consider getting the RIGHT tests that are crucial in identification and treatment. The test your MD orders is not right. The one you need Igenex labs test it is accurate test. The reason you want to move quickly with Lyme is that you want to kill this thing early on before it gets a foothold into your system. Unfortunately ACV is not going to cut it with something like this. My friend had early detection took antibiotics was cured.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Robyn (Melbourne) on 09/28/2015

Totally understand. 23 yrs of unfathomable pain. Supplements didn't help me. Vit c may have helped my adrenals a little, liposomal is the best but expensive, synthetic ones are made from corn often, I found a whole food one. It won't be enough to kill lyme. Are you looking at an antibiotic protocol?

Sea Salt
Posted by Teresa (Tahlequah, Oklahoma) on 12/21/2011

Hi, has anyone ever tried this sea salt remedy for lyme disease? It definitely sounds too good to be true, but of course, I'm always open to anything that will heal this horrible lyme illness. Wouldn't this remedy be hard on the kidneys? I have medullary sponge kidneys (I chronically form kidney stones & follow a low sodium/low oxalate diet), so I'm concerned about consuming so much salt.

What is the difference between "raw" unrefined sea salt, & regular or Kosher sea salt you buy at most grocery stores?

Please advise if anyone has any links or articles where I can read more about this remedy.

Thanks,

Teresa

Hi Susan,

I have two sister's who were bitten by ticks just three days ago. While I'm praying that they don't develop this debilitating disease, I want to be prepared with as many natural treatments as possible.

Thus, I have several questions.

1) The 1 gram of unrefined sea salt every hour or 1 tbsp total seems like quite a lot to consume each day. How many total glasses of water did you drink each day?

2) Did you have to consume high potassium foods, probiotics, avoid wheat/sugar/MSG, etc. to offset the higher salt intake and symptoms?

3) How often did you take 1 gram of Vitamin C? Three times a day? Every hour?

4) What is Herx? Is it very painful?

Thank you for your story and feedback!

Yvette

Borax
Posted by Greg (Hackettstown, NJ) on 07/19/2009

HI....... I wanted to start taking Borax to help eradicate my Lyme symptoms but of course I am concerned about it's safety. I have a box of 20 Mule Team on hand and am fully prepared to give it a go using Ted's measurings. But first I found an MRSD on Borax that said once ingested Borax becomes Boric Acid in the body. Clearly this would be a problem. The MRSD goes on to state that the effects would cause a myriad of problems including the testicular pain that another poster described at an earlier date and time. Ted....your response to him (Dave I believe his name was) was that he didn't take the Borax correctly but after re-reading his post it looked as if he did follow the recipe. As I said I am more than willing to give the Borax a shot at the Lyme but I don't want my being desperate to cause me to do something that will worsen my health. Ted, can you please clarify your response to Dave and/or answer the question about the MRSD claim of Borax becoming Boric Acis upon ingestion? Also can you please clarify your response to Dave regarding his experience. Thank you so much.

Greg

Posted by Diana (Toronto) on 10/15/2018

Ted saved my life with Borax a few years ago with Morgellons...I bathed with a cup of borax in the water and drank 1/8 teaspoon in a bottle of water every day except weekends.....hundreds of black specks came out of me in the tub. I also used a diluted borax water for my cat and he was cured. Just sip it gradually, not all at once.

Now I have new lyme and have been taking hydrogen peroxide 35% food grade and Himalayan salt and mimosa pudica. I am better than a few weeks ago but the twitching makes me crazy...usually after I take the peroxide or the salt water...I am so scared. I had forgotten about borax but will resume asap.

God bless

I agree with the things in this post and have a few helpful ideas. The zyto was crucial for me to discover that I had lyme and 18 additional coinfections. Mostly of the bartonellas. There is candida and aspergillis too. If I had not done the zyto I think I would have spent years trying to discover all the additional coinfections and maybe the lyme too since it can be elusive to diagnose. In addition to the essential oils of GSE, OO, cinnamon, thyme, peppermint and lemon twice a day. Neem leaf tea is something I can feel break up the mucous and NEBULIZING buffered reduced glutathione and baking soda to buffer and separately nebulizing H2o2. The nebulizing has allowed my lungs to release the mucous that has been trapped for 20 yrs. Another critical thing one MUST do is to nourish the methylation cycle with hcl, methionine and trimethylglycine. For me the worst thing to deal with has been the brainfog. I have recently discovered that msg and its many names its hidden by is a major problem. Being a good diet detective is another notch in the key that cannot be neglected. Get tested for test for chlamidia, Dr Klinghardt reports 86% of worldwide Lyme patients are infected with Chlamydia pneumoniae in his experience. Another thing to watch out for is magnesium stearate which is found in MANY supplements at the health food store. Magnesium stearate is an ideal food for biofilms. One of the only companies that doesnt use it premier research labs. To heal we must support phase 1 AND phase 2 liver detox. Phase 1 requires oxygen and heat. Phase 2 requires glutathione.
