A daily dose of bicarbonate soda could stop kidney disease and dialysis. I was told that I was at stage 3 in my kidney disease and eventually I would have to go on dialysis. The University Hospital in London had done some trial tests whereby taking a daily dose of bicarbonate soda could prevent the development of the disease. So, I had nothing to lose and took a teaspoon of bicarbonate soda with a glass of water twice a day. My tests came back and there has been no progression of the disease - hopefully it is in check, but the results look good.

On a second note, I have taken coca-cola with asparagus and on the last two occasions my kidney stones have disappeared. So, when it comes to my kidneys - the future is looking a little brignter. Cheers, Ian

I have had kidney infection in both kidneys for at least 6 months. I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of - except cranberry - I am allergic to that. But I have been doing blueberry. I have been on multiple rounds of different antibiotics - which worked while I was on them but the infection would always return within two days to a week after I finished the antibiotic. Two nights ago, I had the worst kidney pain yet. I had read on EC about using baking soda for kidney infection but was always afraid to try. But in the wee hours of the morning, I finally gave in and mixed 1/2 tsp. Baking soda in 8 oz. of water. I did not like the taste. The pain did not go away but I went to bed and slept very well. The kidney pain was still there in the morning and I did a dipstick test and sure enough, the infection was pretty bad - the urine looked the worst I have ever seen it, although there were no nitrites.

However, there was something in that urine I had never seen before - a small amount of sediment! I booked an appt. for a urine test at the dr's a few hours later. To my utter amazement, the dr's test came back negative! I still had the pain, but I attribute it to the fact that I am pretty sure I have yeast that affects my kidneys and this was detox. I have had that before when I soak my feet in hydrogen peroxide and water (1 cup H2O2 to a gal. of water).

As I write, it is the next morning and I still have mild but decreasing kidney pain, but the best part is, my urine is clear as can be and I have not seen such a good dipstick test when not on antibiotics, since I started the dipstick tests 6 months ago. I only took one drink of baking soda and water.

For kidney infections use colloidal silver. Fifty drops on empty stomach three times daily. Do this for at least a week.

Hello, I am a twice a week dialysis patient due to Iga-Nephropathy. I've read articles about bicarbonate or baking soda being used for renal failure. I desperately need to know exactly how this works, and how it could help me. I still urinate, but I also retain fluids. I (do not)want a transplant and all its damaging medicines. I want to cure or at least improve myself dramatically. please let me know how to take the bicarbonate, or any other herb or treatment to improve my kidneys. Ill await your responce, thank you.

Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) helps by bonding to phosphurus acid in your stomach. its helps with eliminating too much acidity, but doesnt help rejenerate kidney function.

I've had Diabetes since 1999. I was controlling it with meds in 2012. I had 2 strokes. I went into Rehab for 6 months. Christmas 2013, I had an unexpected Heart Attack, Coded, had Open Heart Surgery, 3-way Bypass. I had 2 more strokes and severe reaction to all the meds, especially from Anesthesia. I had severe Dementia for months. I have not been well since that time. I am in End Stage Renal Failure, functioning at 10%. My Doctor is forcing me into Dialysis. I had Dialysis after my surgery because they used contrast, which I am allergic to. My kidneys failed then. But 2/3 the way into 2014, my kidneys came back at 30% and I stopped Dialysis. I was in Rehab for a year this time. I got Pancreatitis May 2015 and found out my kidneys were failing.

I am looking to get off most or all my meds, avoiding Dialysis and finally getting well, after being ill since 2012. I would like any help you can give me. I see my Doctor soon and I hope what I am doing will change my lab results enough that my Doctor will waive Dialysis. Thank you.

R: It seems a miracle you are here and posting your condition. And yes, there are valuable natural remedies that can help you recover substantial instead of going near dead with palliative-at-best treatments.

Recently many folks have been cured of diabetes from eating Kefir daily, suggesting a pathological organism or infection as the cause of loss of pancreas beta cells. Going back a few years and the now renowned Hulda Clark discovered that many cases of diabetes were caused from parasite infestation, notably flukes.

In your case, I would not rule out any of the forgoing, as the level of involvement is extensive occurring also in the kidneys. Gallstones are also common in pancreas & kidney infections. So you will want to read on the "gallbladder flush" diet that removes gallstones.

First item in natural remedies is alkalizing (which is what the dialysis does). Read the E.C. pages under "remedies" for alkalizing.

Next, is to clean the kidneys by taking Cranberry softgels or D-Mannose, followed an hour or two later with Dr.Christopher's "Kidney/Bladder" herbal formula. After a week or two of this take Raw Bovine Kidney capsules to rebuild those organs.

Next is treating likely parasite infestation with a broad spectrum herbal formula specifically Kroger Herb "Wormwood Combination". In addition to this product I like to add Garlic Oil and Oregano Oil softgels for best effect. Dr. Christopher also developed an herbal formula specifically for the pancreas called P-14 which I have used with very good effect. There are many different manufactures of the Christopher formulas so there will be different names so if you want to try this you must research a little, but it may not be necessary as the Kidney/Bladder formula contains about half of what is found in the pancreas formula, plus the anti-parasite formula I suggested will likely be sufficient. After a few weeks of this treatment take Raw Bovine Pancreas to rebuild that organ.

Lastly, buy yourself some Kefir grains and make your own for daily use. And to help clean your colon take a spoon of Milled Flax Seed daily (can add to the Kefir).

Hope you can follow these suggestion and get better, but please feel free to come back for additional help or update your progress.

I saw this in the DMSO page and thought it should be posted here too. It seems DMSO can open blockages related to liver and renal failure.

[YEA] 08/24/2012: Geralyn_d from Atlanta, Ga: "When I went into acute liver failure 4 years ago I was not told about ascites, they didn't really expect me to live and I turned down a place on the transplant list. I started eating raw vegan as it was the least reactive food I could stomach. One day I was dressing and noticed I looked like a water barrel! I weighed myself and had gained 8 pounds in a couple of days... I was going out of town the next day and used the only thing I know of that quickly removes excess water... DMSO.

I spread 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of 99% DMSO on a baby wipe... Then wiped from breast line to just past the groin where lymph glands are (front and back)and over the next 12 hours I peed like a racehorse! It took 2 days but all the water build up disappeared. It has come back 5 times and I used it each time to success. I also added tissue salts for control of water in the body and liver support (nat mur /nat sulph).

Recently my sister was in the hospital when her chemo almost killed her (heart and liver issues). She gained 24 pounds in 5 days. I advised the DMSO cautiously thinking at least there they could deal with any reaction. Instead of a problem, she ended up flooding the measuring container a few times and lost the 24 pounds in a week. The Drs were very happy that the liver numbers quickly dropped to the normal range. We didn't share our diuretic free solution though. DMSO is a cheap and pretty safe way to get rid up water build up."

Ironically, only moments prior to reading this post, I had been smelling a DMSO odor in my bed but I only use DMSO in the bath (and not so much as to cause body odor). When I closely investigated the situation, I found a large spot on my bed-sheet where the odor was emanating. I had (some time prior) accidentally dropped a Garlic Oil soft-gel in the bed and it burst. Which brings the conversation to this.

In his research for cancer cure, David W. Gregg, Ph. D. Found an erry resemblance of Garlic to DMSO (the odor is remarkably similar). "I find it very interesting to note the similarity between Diallyl Sulfide (Garlic ingredient) and Dimethylsulfide (DMSO)."

So, for those who find the DMSO route a little out-of-the-way or inconvenient, I would recommend triple strength Garlic Oil soft-gels. Gavin of New Zealand expressed the blood-thinning properties of Garlic, which coincides with the same reported for DMSO.

Also, do supplement MSM with the DMSO as they are redox partners (they interchange from one back to the other). As a side-note, I find Alpha Lipoic Acid also potentates the DMSO/MSM.

i gave a kidney in 2005 and the skin dehisced. the intestine protrudes and after 2 years i started having focused pain in that area i could feel it doctors can't even tell me for now. well the pain expanded from that part of the colon towards the sigmoid area and boy does that pain gyrate. so get this friend of mine sez i'm the key to a new prespective. his curiousity erked him. i became a guinea pig. through his studies he determined baking soda helps the digestive tract but to what extent. thats where i came in. my pain so chronic for the last three consecutive months. he sez take it it accordingly and see what happens. well i did and in 15 minutes all my pain was going away in 1 hour all gone. but that determined that i have an infection. now he sez if i get myself on a regime i can eradicate the vermin in due time and get back to normal. i tell you this much. bacteria can really screw you up bad. hit me up if you wanna know how im doing in the future.

Normally, you take baking soda as follows: 1/4 teaspoon or up to 1/2 teaspoon in cup of water. Stir until liquid is clear and drink over a few minutes. Best on empty stomach if you are trying to alkalize your body versus just dealing with digestive issues.

Also can be taken with Apple Cider Vinegar. One tablespoon of ACV in half glass of water and then 1/4 to 1/2 in the water... Big fizz... after fizzing stops drink.

Anyhow it had progressed into kidney infection. They prescribed antibiotics , and I started drinking 1/4 tsp in half glass of water every other hour... and the pain was disapperaing! Plus a taking hot bath in 1 capful each of Eucalyptus and Sandlewood oil helped a lot too.

My friend who is a diabetes type 2 was having problem with kidneys. His doctor advised him to take 500 mg baking soda tablet one in the morning and another in the evening. His kidney is working correctly. But if he stop taking baking soda tablets, his kidney is not functioning properly. Baking soda will keep the body alkaline. You may try this technique.

There has been tenderness in my lower back in the area of my kidneys for months. Fresh aloe vera gel, whole lemons in smoothies, and high dose ascorbic acid w/wo baking soda seem to have been the cause. I tried fresh lemon juice, Ted's lemon alkalizing remedy, baking soda in water, and raw apple cider vinegar with no improvement. At times it felt like a small stone may have moved.

Fresh raw purple cabbage (with fresh lemon juice and miso dressing) eliminated the discomfort the same day I ate it. About two cups of cabbage. It also increased urine output.

Castor Oil

I have always used Castor Oil Packs to strengthen my liver and kidneys. The liver can grow itself back if you take the time to do it.

You get cold pressed castor oil, wool flannel, a heating pad and a piece of plastic - I use a garbage bag. There are sites online that will explain it in details.

I put the castor oil into a sealed container with the wool flannel and shake it up. You want the castor oil to be dripping from it slowly. I then put the container into the microwave for about 15 or 20 seconds - just to get it heated up. I then put a couple of towels onto my bed or couch and lay down on them. Then I take the wool flannel and put it on my stomach. If you are trying to heal the liver, put it a little bit more over your liver, if you are trying to heal the kidneys, put it over that area. Then I put the garbage bag onto the flannel and then the heating pad - all the way on high (or as high as you can handle). Leave it on for at least one hour and meditate on what you are trying to achieve. After you are finished, wipe yourself off with a mixture of Baking soda and water to get your skin back to the proper ph.

Do this for 4-5 days on and then leave off for the remaining days.

The is a good book called Edgar Cayce and the Palma Christi. It tells of all the wonderful things that Castor Oil (the Palma Christi) does!

I have never had a problem with my kidneys, so I am hopefully thinking this is due to my using the Castor Oil packs! However, I use to treat a woman in Houston and she was going to dialysis, I did a few different treatments on her, and one of them was Castor Oil packs. Her numbers were dramatically decreased. I had her change her diet, use the Castor oil packs and I did Body Alignment Technique. Her numbers decreased by the third time.

Kidney help

Years ago, in 1998 my son was sent home from the hospital, on a friday, after one week, with a very swollen abdomen and swelling in his ankles. He has had a disease called Nephrotic Syndrome since he was fifteen, and he was then twenty-four. At that time he had been hospitalized over forty times for this awful disease. This hospital that had had him for a patient for nearly ten years, lost his medical file! So my son told this new doctor that when he is in a swollen state that Lasix in pill form will not make him urinate. He told him that the only treatment that would get the fluid off of him at that point was lasix given intraveinously. Well, the doctor refused and kept on trying to give him pills. When I told the patient advocate about the problem the doctor sent my son home the next day with about two gallons of excess water still inside him. He was unable to urinate more than an inch of urine that contained blood and pus. Well, I made him a bed on my couch and tried to make him as comfortable as I could. I knew that it would be nearly impossible to find a kidney specialist
on the week-end. So I went in my bedroom and closed the door and laid across my bed and cried and cried. And then I remembered something I had read in a little book titled: '10 Top Herbs to cure big diseases' It said that cayenne pepper unblocks any blockage! So I thought to myself it is worth a try. I looked in my kitchen cabinet and I had it in my spices. I thought I would put some in soup, and then I told myself 'No' because that is just more liquid in him he doesn't need right now. So I dumped out some big capsules and filled up four or five of them. I gave them to my son and within a four hour period he urinated three long times! After that his pills kicked in and began working! He remained in remission for about eight years but it always flares up when he gets a cold or flu, or under to much stress.

I hope this helps.

Replied by Dave
(Fountain Inn, Sc)

Your last statement about his situation when he gets a cold or under stress tells me that he could have an infection in the kidney area and when he gets a cold then the immune system that is producing antibodies is diverted; hence the kidney infection re asserts itself. Try colloidal silver.. The kind with high silver to water ratio. Find someone who makes it by the simple 27 volt method. Sometimes you get a very diluted kind in the health food stores. I have been given "specialty" silvers and tried it on sinus infection only to see the special silver did nothing to help me. When I reverted to the old stand by type of silver made with 27 volts, infection killed immediately. For your son, use the silver on empty stomach, for a week at least. A long standing infection might take even longer to knock out.

Hi, from Tx. My husband has been on diaylsis for @ 5 years. IF YOU CAN STILL URINE, AND YOUR POTESSIUM is ok--try drinking coconut water after treatment. It will strengthen your blood, and give you energy. AS far as the Apple Cider Vinager--use an organic brand, not store brands. It has "mother's wort" and is brown in color. You can look up all its usages on the web. It's good for high blood, acid reflux, arthrtis, and weight loss. I also have recently began juicing--"celery and cucumbers w/apple"--it states "assists with kidney functions! " At this point--what can it hurt! I do know that his blood pressure has been normal 120/80 for 4 months! So something is working! Mostly, we pray and believe that God's word is true, and healing is available for all that can believe! God bless each of you is my prayer!

Cornsilk is a miracle worker. If you catch a bladder infection early enough and use enough it will fix it, but not if you let it get a hold.. For kidneys its usefulness cannot be overstated. I have kidney pain from time to time - I think never having drunk enough water could be the cause, but my right kidney is sensitive and gives me pain at times. Cornsilk tincture, anything from a teaspoonful to 2 tablespoons, will stop it in anything from 10 mins to an hour. If it isn't better in half an hour I just take more.

My father had only one kidney, after cancer/chemo that one had 30 percent function. He took cornsilk tablets daily and never had a problem unless he skipped them for a couple of days. I can't buy the tablets any more because cranberry got fashionable and the compny that used to make them here ditched them in favour of cranberry (useless for kidneys) but I can get cornsilk tincture from a variety of homoeopathic/compounding chemists and on line. Never be without it! (I've never heard of contra-indications with it though my mother in law was a bit concerned about my using it during pregnancy)

Hello Cyml:

You say your niece's kidneys are shrinking. My first guess when I see something that the doctors can't explain is to think "infection" either virus, bacteria or fungus....and don't forget parasite. I use colloidal silver which is atoms of silver in water. You have plenty of silver in India. Colloidal silver is a very small amount of silver derived from electrolysis diluted in water. If me having such symptoms I'd drink two tablespoons of colloidal silver three times a day for a month and retest. Her symptoms might also begin improving. Ask your niece to think back before the onset of her kidney problem...ask her if she had a serious infection. Many times the patient can recall a serious infection before another later onset of a "mystery" illness. No mystery: it's the infection (virus, bacteria etc) at work. If she improves, she likely will have to keep up the protocol for many months to make sure the infection is destroyed.

Corn Silk

Wonderful Corn Silk For Kidney Problems:

Corn silk has been used to treat various urinary disorders and is a diuretic.
It is effective in treating acute and chronic inflammation of the urinary system.
In Chinese medicine it is used as a treatment for water retention.

A sweet, soothing and cooling herb with diuretic properties, stimulates bile, helps prostatitis, enuresis in children, prevents the formation of stones in the kidneys, clears bladder and urinary tract infection, and lowers blood sugar levels.

Corn silk tea has a soothing effect on kidney, bladder and urinary problems, and can clear up pus, infection, burning or scalding urine. It will also soothe inflammation of the urinary passages due to gravel or kidney stones, and regulate the flow of urine (whether too much or too little), in cases of bladder drip and incontinence -inability of the bladder to hold urine-and urine retention or stoppage of urine. It seems to heal diseased areas of the kidneys, bladder and urinary passages and flush out uric acid, toxins and other poisons.

A simple way to prepare corn silk.Wash corn silk and put it in a cup, pour in boiling water and cover the lid. Wait for 15 minutes before drinking. Corn silk can be reused many times. Do not throw corn silk away after your first drink.

For those who can afford the time to cook herbs. Corn silk plus China barley would be more effective for kidney problems!

Benefits of BARLEY-dysuria,hydrops,whites,ascariasis,beriberi,abscess,mouth ulcer!China barley

Important: Use only China barley! Holland barley is not so useful

Direction for use

Use 2 litres of water and bring it to a boil, put in corn silk and China barley.Switch to low flame and cook for 1 hour. This herb is suitable for everybody young and old to detox their body of toxins! To be taken on empty stomach for best results or 2 hour to 3 hour after food for better absorption.Drink these herbs regularly for good results.Take your time and consume the solution slowly sips by sips throughout the day.

Do not use aluminum pot to cook herb, cooking herbs in aluminum pot will cause a chemical reaction resulting in a slow form of poisoning!

This formula is suitable for kidney dialysis patients.

To the blissful dyalisis nurse in australia, being as you are faced with troubles of your own kidneys I would imagine that you could admit never witnessing a person on dyalisis getting off. Most people choose a field, hopefully passionately. I have been in the mix of these centers for only about 7 years and it seems to me that there are simply those who believe they must believe what they are told- and those who begin to question everything they have been taught. Thats a hard thing to do.

I have sucsessfully gotten my grandmother off of dyalisis after 4 years- stage four, then stage 5. Every doctor said it could not be done. We did it. One day at a time. Absolutely beginning with nutrition. All of those renal diet musts" are contributing to the fact that these people continue to lose there ability to allow there bodies to strive. White breads only? and dont forget to start taking away the okay to eat fresh fruit, or many veggies, or nuts, or grains, musnt forget legumes... Instead lets make them believe that they need to overload on protien-and glue (white starch?) dont drink water! It will kill ya. I mean, do you honestly feel what you posted? just keep your body from real nutrition and when you come in to get your blood cleansed.. We'll reward you with fake sweetners atop of jello and send you home with more destructive recipes. Its the least to be done, considering, these peoples continued demise pays the bills.

Please -do your research, its "high school stuff". Please search your soul. And to any patients out there.. , . Please start by learning about alkalized water and maybe some stabilized oxygen- totally non toxic!! Make your low fluid allowance count! Enzymes! We were supposed to have them thank goodness for health food stores and natural advocates-protease is a good enzyme to start with, if you are a kidney patient with "high urine protien" (urine ph level under 6.0) and on the other hand , if you are a patient with a urine ph balance above 7.5 you are in need of bringing some acidity to your body to help neutralize things. Try sodium ascorbate( vitamin C -no clacium) purchase ph urine strips, on the internet, healthfood stores and test daily to see if your ph level is getting closer to 7.0. That is the number both sides of the ph levels want to try and focus on.

Try these things for awhile if you like and see how you feel about "the side effects" vs "dyalisis effects" oh! Two more things, see if the stabilized oxygen doesnt help make a difference with blood sugar and maybe blood pressure because as much as they tried to give my nani more diabetic meds and blood pressure meds when not really needed, I know that they were inhibiting her own body from performing its own tasks. Those things are imortant to try and defeat- we did. Remember, what we speak, shall be what is. the power of thought!!! I am on a mission!! Much love and Health. Melanie

Have been on dialysis for 4 years now. Last year I bought and saw the movie by Joe Cross called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. I began juicing once a day and eating all natural foods. The renal diet will kill you. My doctor took me off insulin in 2 months and my A1C went down to 5.2. (was insulin diabetic for over 30 years) I went from 245 to 167 lbs. I can walk for miles now and even run when playing with my grandson. My blood work is always great. Never any swelling and I have more energy t hen when I was 30. I will be 63 yrs young Friday the 24th of April. I am not cured yet but I will do all I can. Doctors only treat the symptoms. Good luck to you all and do all you can for yourself.

I have kidney infection for about 1,5 year. For me most usefull were not many water - only 0,5-0,8 litre per day, no garlic, no onion, no radish, no broccoli and all cabage family in raw, only very well cooked, because they irritate kidney. No orange, no lemon, grapefruit and all citrus fruits and NO VITAMIN C and multivitamins with vitamin C!!!! because vitamin C irritates kidney!!!

You can try to eat only buckwheat all day, 2-3 days per week with 0,5 l parsley or horsetail tea, and after this day you will notice that your kidney responsive to food and some supplements ... so don't use in this buckwheat days even all supplements, except vitamin D because maybe some of them irritate kidney.

Also essential vitamin D (if your situations worsen, try larger doses - 10000 vitamin D per day), NAC (2*600 mg per day) (for my kidneys it's a miracle), necessary to stengthen immunity (one month echinacea, other month astragalus, siberian ginseng etc.) Q10

I don't eat meat and dairy, so I don't know if my kidney liked them or not, but sometimes I eat fish and eggs and my kidney like them. Also my kidney like apples.

My kidney didn't liked Pau'd'arco. I tried it for immunity, but two times after taking one capsule 500 mg, my kidney were in pain. Also be very careful with species - turmeric OK, but black pepper NO. Cloves - OK, ginger - OK.

For my very useful site for supplements is

In this site I learnt about NAC and tried it. For my kidney NAC was very very useful - like miracle cure. Thanks to God. I bought the cheapest NAC from iherb.

I would go to Distilled Water for Kidney Failure, Get him to drink a Gallon a day. No Less, and more would actually work better. Distilled Water is what must be used to perform Kidney Dialysis. Big Pharma knows this... Kidneys are clogged and have been slowly dying off for years thus failing, this is Kidney Failure. Supplementation with Borax likely wouldn't have any deleterious effects.
