I rubbed coconut oil once daily on the skin fungal infection that had spread from my upper thighs to my neck, back and arms. In under a week I noticed the rash lessen in intensity, by the third week it had completely disappeared. I thoroughly recommend this cure.

It occurs to me that we had a dry powdered hand cleaner in the shop in a dispenser when I was a kid that was called Boraxo. I don't recall it seeming harsh but it was powder soap which was weird to a kid so I may not have noticed. Seems like it might be a good way to get some boron in the system, washing one's hands with it...I don't know. Your hands made me think of it...

Boric Acid for Ear Fungus

Have had a fungal infection for over 10 years that was given 4-5 different diagnoses. Finally found an ENT who tried boric acid “kills everything” and a week later follow up appointment no more fungus. He gave the name of a tool to use called Sheehy-house Powder Insufflator and it blows the powder into the ear. He did it once and said I can do it once a week as needed and just use regular boric acid!

I have never used comfrey that way, but will keep it in mind for future! I do love comfrey, my plant is thriving this summer. I use the leaf in smoothies and to make a salve.

I used to get that under the breasts and don't recall what was either petroleum jelly (which the body won't take which is why you use it for cats with hairballs) for smothering and soothing it or a paper towel twisted into like a rope with ACV on it and place it in the fold. I did both. The ACV stung like the dickens at first but then felt SO much better and just as soon as it stopped hurting, I kept it wiped with baby wipes. The first pack I bought was, in itself, irritating so I had to go back and get "unscented" baby wipes.

Since I've been rid of the problem, I keep it at bay in summer by applying a stripe of coconut oil and wiping with a baby wipe. I think it's bacterial and fed by sweat. I don't know that but it's the first thought that occurred to me when I started having the problem.

Tea tree oil was too harsh. Ouch! You can also tuck a wide piece of t-shirt material under the band of your bra. Make several because you don't want to leave sweat dampened cotton on your skin so you'll want to change it a couple times per day in summer. Bacteria loves cotton for some reason and nobody boils their underclothes anymore. Linen would be better but might be too rough, initially.

The best material I've found is Nike's performance fabrics. 4 way stretch, wicking and antimicrobial. SUPER soft and comfortable! I hated to do it but couldn't find that material back then so made shorts of a pair of Nike yoga pants and used the material from the legs. I don't often need them except in summer, these days, but the strips of fabric have lasted for years. They must be 20 years old now. And they hand-wash like a dream. I put them in a big plastic jar with a couple drops of dish soap, a little splash of 3% hydrogen peroxide and one of those rubber dryer balls and shake the heck out of it. Rinse and toss them over the shower curtain rod. That high performance fabric dries very quickly. It also keeps the area cooler somehow, when you're "wearing" one so there's less sweating to start with.

If you use the ACV, be prepared to grit your teeth, at first.

If it were mine I would probably use coconut oil, it's anti fungal, anti bacterial, anti viral and anti microbial. I would try to sunbathe those spots 15 minutes each day if possible, the sun heals skin issues and increases hormone . D is hormone . Dhea helps my muscle and fights cortisol overload . My dose is 10 mg every 4 days .I would also try to balance minerals and water for my body to calm down . I also like GABA and occasionally use ashwaganda peaceful. Usually when one gets weighted down, and skin sags into folds it is not necessarily from eating too much but from stress and dehydration which includes mineral balance. The body produces histamine in response to mineral and water imbalance, then all hell breaks loose and you feel awful. Increase MSM and vitamin C for collagen production and also Magnesium for muscle tone. Borax does miracles for all these areas but add stuff slowly.Read a lot before starting any borax. Apple cider vinegar with the mother or veil in it 1 tsp in 12 oz water drink through a straw in morning to improve gut health for digestion . You can't absorb minerals when your gut is out of balance. Most people crave stuff because they are dehydrated or have a mineral imbalance that makes them tired so they run for a lift with coffee cola sugar or choc to make them feel better but none help in the long run. Been there done that.

Go watch Eric Berg on youtube and you will learn lots of insights. I have not done the keto diet and don't recommend it even though he does. It's extreme, and hard to keep it up and most people end up gaining back more than they lose . Moderation is key to joy. I use a large appliance box cut in half on back porch to sunbathe in so no one sees me ....tiny swimsuit and pull up swim top so lower part of breast gets sun and also under the arms and in the pits. This is where most cancers in women begin. If this does not work for you go to the messy stuff, castor oil ( the palm of christ).

One last thing could be diaper rash zinc vitamin D cream or fungal creams for women near pads at walmart. Whatever works for you .Blessings, Charity.

I can relate to the "rash" on the perineal area. Also, it was itchy! My Gyn was no help. But, I discovered organic Apple Cider Vinegar (the brand with "the mother"). Within a couple of weeks of drinking the ACV/Baking Soda recipe (, stopping ALL sugar, including white carbs (white rice, white bread), it totally cleared up. Sugar feeds fungus.

In short, take a look at what you're eating that could be contributing to this fungal infection.

Along with drinking the ACV/Baking Soda mixture daily, you could also dilute the ACV with distilled water (easily found in any drug store). In a clean, small container, combine 1 teaspoon of ACV with 3-4 teaspoons of the distilled water. Using a cotton ball or a wadded up piece of toilet paper, moisten the paper with the mixture, then gently apply it to the perineal area. Obviously, if you use a cotton ball, don't flush it, or it will clog your toilet!

NOTE: this might sting; if so, use less ACV or more water. The sting will go away once it starts to heal.

The comfrey plant has leaves atop long stalks ranging from 6 inches to over a foot. I would find a comfrey plant, tear off a stalk, chew it lightly to break and release the slippery sap therein; then apply the wet ruptured stalk to the rash, giving it a thorough coating. It only takes a minute. Do this twice a day, morning and before bed. You should see an improvement in a day or two.

Continue for a couple of weeks. I once had a pernicious damp-loving rash behind one knee and nothing I tried through many months would rid it. This insidious rash only got worse ...until I tried the comfrey juice. I hope you have some nearby.

Fungal Skin Infection:

I have had a horrible rash in the fold of my skin in my belly for months now.Intially I had it under my breasts too. I went to a dermatologist, who gave me diflucan and ketoconazole. After several months it did go away. Then it came back, but just on my belly fat and around my perineal area. I don't have insurance so I tried many "natural" cures. But nothing is working. My skin is raw, if there is any help anybody can give, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have had sporotrichosis for a few months now. It started with a pronounced bump on the top of my head. Some time after that I was breaking out in sores around my mouth and chin. Next it came out in tracks down my arms.

I started taking liquid potassium iodide over a year ago and it seemed to be working but very slowly. A person in a health food and vitamin store introduced me to a supplement that made from an ingredient from garlic called allicin. It is really working well for me and almost all of my sporotrichosis sores are gone. I take about 10 capsules a day.

Carmel, I had terrible symptoms with horrific sinus problems for 10 years and doctors could not seem to help me. With me it was like an acid coming down from my head into my sinuses, down into my throat burning me as it trickled down, Acid burning all the way down into my upper chest. It was a 10 year nightmare! I finally gave up with doctors. I was totally miserable! With me the real problem was a little past the crown of the back of my head, just below the crown. For some reason when that part of my head was COLD this acid type liquid would come down causing the burn symptoms! Put a warm cap on or use the blow dryer or heating pad on your head when you are ill and see if this stops the problem. If not it's something else. But this worked for me! I am fine now. If it starts up on goes a warm cap.

I'm 46 and have suffered with various fungal issues for at least 30 years. Since I was a teenager I remember fighting toenail fungus (which continues to this day). I also had a "polished" circle about 1 inch diameter on my face where the skin was shinier than normal and my beard didn't grow right. The circle on my face was just a birth mark, so we were told. I struggled with recurring athlete's foot through the years as well. Seemingly, I got that to go away a few years ago by soaking my feet in ACV daily for several weeks.

For at least the past 20 years I've struggled with an itchy scalp, initially localized to one area on the side of my head. Over time I developed a swollen lymph node in my neck underneath the itchy area. An ENT doctor ruled out lymphoma and other issues then treated it as a bacterial infection with repeated rounds of different antibiotics over the course of many months. Antibiotics helped with the inflammation and itching, but the problem would return stronger than ever each time I stopped. I was referred to a dermatologist, who again repeated various rounds of antibiotics, but they also didn't resolve anything permanently. She never made any formal diagnosis but prescribed a steroid cream to help with the itching, but told me to limit its use because it would thin the skin, and so I eventually quit using it.

I've tried every sort of dandruff shampoo out there; internal treatments like Lugol's iodine, oregano oil and eating lots of garlic; even many topical treatments including colorless iodine, coconut oil, all types of essential oils including tea tree, oregano and thyme, ACV rinses, etc. About a year back I even tried using borax as a shampoo, which helped some. However nothing provided any lasting relief from the itching or allowed my scalp to heal. The itchy area grew larger and the affected areas became covered with scaly patches (scales as big around as a pencil, not small dandruff flakes). I could wash the scales off with aggressive scrubbing during a shampoo but they would return within 6-8 hours. The area continued to worsen, becoming red and inflamed until I started losing hair.

Not wanting to take any prescription antifungals due to their liver toxicity, I finally decided to give internal borax a try about 6 weeks ago. I initially wet the very tip of my finger, dipped my finger in the borax and then swallowed that (I understand this gives you about 3 mg of boron per finger dip). Within a few days, I noticed a dramatic reduction of the swelling in my lymph node. Itchiness did not reduce--I think it actually got more intense. But it seemed that I was seeing some progress in the appearance of my scalp, although it was very slow.

After 3 weeks of just dipping my finger in the borax I switched to dissolving 1/8 tsp in a quart of water and sipping the quart of water through the day. I saw immediate changes, starting with the skin between my toes cracking open as if I was getting athlete's foot again. Unlike past athlete's foot infections, the skin didn't crack deep enough to bleed, and over the past few weeks the skin simply peeled off and the area is healing without any topical treatments. Thick callouses on the bottom of my feet are also peeling off, revealing healthy skin underneath. The large scales have stopped forming on my scalp, and the skin is slowly changing to a more natural pink color instead of red. Even the circular spot on my face has started to lose its polished appearance and normal beard is starting to grow again. Additionally, the swelling in my lymph node has continued to go down, with it approaching normal size for the first time in probably 15 years.

It is too soon for me to know whether this will also kill the toenail fungus. My scalp still itches more than normal but certainly less than it used to, and all signs point to the borax finally killing this stuff. I'm optimistic that given more time I will finally eliminate these fungi which have plagued me for so many years. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that this is working!!

For my body weight, the recommended Earthclinic protocol calls for me to use 1/4 tsp borax. I found that with the larger dose I experienced headaches and other die off symptoms. When I backed off to the lower 1/8 tsp dose the die off symptoms abated. So I'm taking 1/8 tsp in a quart of water for 5 days followed by two days off. When I'm taking the borax I drink two additional quarts of water to help flush out my system.

About a year ago, after learning how repeated antibiotics can worsen fungal infections, I started drinking about 1/2 cup of homemade milk kefir each day to help replenish the good bacteria/probiotics in my system, which I am continuing as well.

Reading all the above - you are all suffering from mold, mold exposure that's why all the fungal infections. Cut out Wheat, Sugar, stay away from antibiotics and pharmacutical medication. Change your diet, get tested for mold exposure, check your homes for any mold, even that so called innocent staining round your sink and bath. Mold is a silent killer.

I am dealing with Sporotrichosis as we speak, symptoms started around May 6th. I have had to do my own research as the local doctors don't seem to know much, only about 250 people in the US get it per year, mostly Men over 50. I'm a 30 year old female, and my case is even more rare as it is throughout my body.

In my research generally if it is localized your son may get away with applying topical Terbinafine Hydrochloride cream. Unfortunately if that doesn't work he will need to insist on a FUNGAL culture as a routine culture will not work for diagnosis, and if positive he will need a regimen of Itraconazole for anywhere from 1-6 months.

ACV vs Fungal Infection

One day while at work I started feeling an itchy sweaty feeling on my abdomen. I looked in a mirror to find a red and inflamed patch of skin. I had never had anything like that. It smelled like belly button wax. I started with some Colloidal Silver on gauze to the area, and later added a few.drops of 3% food grade Hydrogen peroxide and against the area for a few more hours - and these easily took care of half of it. I could feel that inflamed patch every minute of that day. Then when I got home I decided to try the ACV, as it is a truly miraculous substance. Within 30 minutes the patch was pink and healing. I put some soothing castor oil on it at that point and that "difficult-to-treat" fungal infection was banished within 12 hrs. Just because "they" can't come up with a cure in a lab somewhere, doesn't mean it's impossible to beat.

Ted here says he read somewhere that fungal infections can lead to cancer. I, too, have read the same thing. I will now alkalize myself with 3 drops of HP in a bottle of water every morning (best on an empty stomach), and then ACV in water later in the day. Forewarned is forearmed, they say, and I plan on doing everything Ted advises to get rid of this thing and he was suggesting the HP. Thanks to Heaven, the stuff is dirt cheap. You could find it at a health food store.

Best of health, everybody!

Hello, I used iodine on a bad skin fungus infection I had on my right arm. I tried alot of natural remedies...Aloe Vera, Coconut oil, Castor oil, ACV, Tea Tree oil but all seem not to be working as when applied, the virus would just explode and spread further or would scale back in size for a minute but then grow. I tried different things for around 3 months. I then read online - a different website - about iodine and a testimonial, purchased some from Amazon and applied it. It hurt when I applied it, subsided in pain for a while but fluctuated in intensity for a while then ceased. I noticed the infection looked dried and did not explode.

In 3 days I was cured and the infection was healing over. I then continued to apply Castor oil to heal the mark the infection left.

Definitely use iodine if possible to kill a fungus skin infection - avoid the doctor visit and co-payment. Not sure how to use this for a yeast vaginal infection as iodine stains and can be sensitive to a open sore like Tea Tree oil. Great Stuff, I recommend.

My sister had a resistant eye infection with similar symptoms to yours & tried many natural things but it did not resolve, then she spoke to a person who told her he used cellfood drops very diluted with distilled water in his eye & it cleared up the stubborn infection & took away the deposits in his eye. He also took the drops internally too. She tried it, began very diluted, then a bit stronger, must be distilled water with no impurities in it. She got it at a health food shop or online. It causes apoptosis to infected cells so your immune system can destroy what's hiding in the cells. It worked for her too, really well. Look it up, great on skin rashes like eczema, psoriasis etc, dilute it then increase strength as it begins to heal. Good for fungal infections in the body too.

Fungal infection on the scalp:

I have had extremely itchy scalp since being diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis two years ago. It began with taking amoxicillan. The dermatologist prescribed an elocon steroid lotion which I used but it actually didn't help and the side effects worried me. This summer I had the most unbearable itch that would spread to my face. I finally found a cure when I read that applying honey on the scalp will alleviate the fungal infection. After using that method for the three months, the itch has gone and I now just apply coconut oil with vinegar. I urge anyone to try honey as the results are remarkable.

Mix two tablespoons of honey with one spoon of water.

I was experiencing several skin funguses all at once. I got the DMSO - 99.98% PURE DMSO 8 OZ SPRAY BOTTLE PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE from Amazon. The experts say dilute this with distilled water - 75% DMSO to 25% distilled water, or more water depending on how much your skin can tolerate (Do a test first). If you do not dilute it could cause slight irritation or burn.

I was so upset with my skin problems that I did not dilute but went full strength with the first 3-4 applications. I was so shocked at how fast my skin problems started to heal after just 3 applications; the pain, irritations and swellings all disappeared. After the 4th application full strength I did start to see slight burns in the area so I decided to continue but with the diluted application.

This is how I applied it:

Once a day after shower or bath, make sure that your skin is clean and that the water you rinse off with is clean enough to drink, as the DMSO will carry any chemical or other contaminant on your skin directly into the bloodstream and cells all over your body. So I handle the DMSO carefully, I make that the towel I use to dry off my shin is also super clean. I towel dry my skin and then immediately (while my skin is still damp), I spray a light mist of the diluted DMSO all over (except for areas with hair). I spray a direct blast on the areas where the fungus has settled, concentrated or take root.

Do not touch your skin after this, wait for about 15 minutes for the DMSO to dry. I wipe off any excess DMSO from my hands with a super clean damp rag/towel. I stand in front of a fan to assist the drying process. After about 15 minutes I wipe off any excess DMSO with a super clean damp rag/towel. I then apply moisturizer to my skin with clean hands; during this process I decided to switch to virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil mixed with t-tree oil as moisturizers for face and body.

The result - miraculous! I have been praying to God and I believe I have received my answer! Thanks be to God!

I watched this video series on youtube and this gives more information on how to use DMSO. The gentleman in this video says he also takes it internally, and this is the next step that I will do following his steps. Do your own research on "DMSO internally" (best on youtube).

Yes! I had all the same symptoms and have been struggling for years with it. The only way is to stop eating sugars and carbs. Yes it is hard, I tried and tried and failed and finally grew fed up with blocked nasal passages, excess phlegm, feeling tired all the time and wanting to be lazy, brain fog. Isn't it the worst?! You will have to grow completely tired of it if you are going to succeed. Just these last couple of weeks I firmly decided I was going to change my life, and it is a lifestyle change not a diet manipulation.

Your grocery list today should include all these natural antifungals: *Fresh garlic (put in most of your food, I peel a clove and put it in water and drink it) your relief and this fungus is at war... who will win? *Lemons organic (drink in your water, if it's too sour it's bc your body isn't use to it, get it use to it. Remember, all these foods are not for taste, they are for healing you by killing the fungus, this fungus will not go away without a fight. look up die of symptoms and start all these healing foods in moderation) *Apple cider vinegar with "the mother" (without the mother is useless) *Probiotics (start with 30 to 35 billion units) *Unrefined organic coconut oil (eat a teaspoon in morning and night) *Fresh local honey(i drink it in morning or night with fresh lemon as a hot tea) *Plain yogurt with live cultures (eat for breakfast with honey and lemon, eat with nuts to keep you full, also use it as your sour cream or whatever. *nite the most potent ass kicker of fungus that will save your life. Tea tree oil. Bathe in it, apply it to rashes. Read about it and how it has healed others. It got rid of all my rashes, my yeast infections, my respiratory infection and ear infection. Do steam inhalations. Like I said read all about it

Good luck and if you have questions or just want to talk about anything, e-mail me. I hope you find relief and I know you will when you get totally Fed up with feeling badly:) All the best, and remember, when you're feeling weak, tell yourself you can eat this stuff later, it's always going to be there, choose the healthy option and your choices will get easier. The yeast always wins by getting the sugar it wants, fight back!!!

Here is a little information I've learned from my alternative medicine doctor, Nystatin is for the great for fungal infections and it remains in digestive system and Diflucan is more effective for systemic fungal infection. I believe for acute fungal infection you need medication for over a month.

My doctor gave me choice garlic tablets, Allimax 100% Allicin Powder to begin with later on oregano oil pill 2 three times a day from more of broad spectrum attack, and I also took probiotics with this since oregano upsets the flora balance

Please be careful, using coconut oil if it is made from dried coconut it has mycotoxins (fungal/mold) Call the companies, and be sure coconut oil is made from fresh coconut oil.

REMEDY: 1) Wash and exfoliate (gently scrub) the affected area daily during every shower with a hand full of Epsom Salt. Repeat the scrub as many times as you like with more or less Epsom Salt during the shower.

2) Exfoliate your entire body with Epsom Salt (hair, face, hands, body, etc.)

3) After shower, pat dry. Use a separate towel for affected area. Don't use the same towel from affected area on non-affected areas to prevent spread.

4) Generously slather Extra Virgin Coconut Oil directly on the area (rubbing it in) and on surrounding areas.

5) Generously slather Extra Virgin Coconut Oil all over your body if you like.

6) Change and wash linen, clothing, and towels in bleach or detergent daily to prevent spread / reactivation.

7) Continue this process until the fungus is completely cleared. After it is cleared, continue using Coconut Oil and Epsom Salt regularly as an excellent health source and preventative.

MY EXPERIENCE: I developed a persistent rash on my hands which remained for nearly a year since doctors would not test it, only visually "assessed it (guessed it)" and threw the prescription pad at it. They assumed it was either: cellulitus, eczema, dermatitis, etc.

I tried many natural remedies (Vicks, Essential oils: Lavender, Peppermint, etc.) and prescribed (eConozole, mConozole, antibiotics, cortizone, steroids, etc.).

The prescribed caused heart palpitations, constrictions, skin thinning, and under eye black circles after 1-month of use -- so obviously I ceased them and refused to take anymore steroids, cortizones, conozoles, etc.). But the hand rash was still there advancing from at the webbing of my fingers to covering both hands, and advancing five inches up my right arm.

I prayed to God to help me and to clear it. Since rash is a form of (skin) corruption, I prayed Jesus remove all corruption from me in act, deed, or otherwise (broken promises, unpaid bills, etc.).

Afterwards, I decided to take an Epsom Salt bath / scrub since I hadn't in a while. During the shower I noticed the Epsom lightened and cleared large parts of the rash remaining only where the rash was more pronounced.

Then, while shopping I saw Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and decided to buy some knowing it to be an excellent skin conditioner. In both cases, I did not expect either would help the rash since I'd already tried so many other remedies. In fact, I didn't buy them for the rash, but simply because they're great anytime.

During showers I continued exfoliating with Epsom Salt, afterwards, slathering Extra Virgin Coconut Oil all over my hands and arms rubbing and massaging it in.

In the first 1 to 2 days on waking each morning I was AMAZED! Seeing the rash was lightening and clearing. It WORKS!

It's been about a week now and the rash is nearly 100% clear. I can see the true color of my hand after nearly a year of not. A doctor recently (finally) tested the rash and confirmed it is fungal. He precribed another "conozole" something, but I'm in no rush to pick it up since the Epsom scrubs and Coconut Oil have nearly cleared it entirely without one negative side effect -- and only positives (fungus cure, increased magnesium, vitamins, minerals, tone, etc.).

This is in response to Carmel:

I don't know if you have had success, it looks like you got a lot of good advice.

Years ago, I researched for Candida cure. I found information by a chiropractor (saved the info, then lost everything saved in a computer crash, so I don't have his name or site); he stated:

Focus on not trying to kill off the fungus overgrowth in your body at first, but to reduce. The fungus had the ability to "hide" itself once it detected an environment that it could not sustain itself in, and then it would just return later.

He did recommend many of the points above, reduce or eliminate sugar intake, etc. He offered a capsule type product to take internally, but it was very expensive, and I was suspicious if it actually worked. Then he stated if you couldn't purchase his product to look for a product that contained a list of herbs. I wrote the list of herbs, and started looking with no success. I decided to purchase the dried herbs or powder form, and take in a capsule myself, but didn't have much luck finding what I needed.

By chance, I found a product in the health food store, that had many of the herbs he listed. Without listing the actual product brand name, it was called "Candida cleanse". There are lots of products that have the title "Candida Cleanse", but this one had nearly every one of the herbs.

The herbs that I remember:

Black Walnut (green hulls), Indian barberry berberine, pau d' arco inner bark, garlic, ginger, cinnamon bark, genitian root, fennel seed, bladderwack, stinging nettle, marshmallow; the top 3 or 4 are the most important ones that I remember.

He also recommended a quality probiotic, but I don't recall those specifications. The product I found had the herbs and a probiotic in the tablet form. It recommended to take on an empty stomach half hour before meals 2 or 3 times a day.

I can tell you this, the first day, the itching stopped, so I knew I was on to something, but I had tried so many things with no real success, that I was only a little excited.

I added taking molybdenum with the herbal tablets at some point, but don't remember specifically, but I had read where Ted recommended it.

It was a slow process, but very successful. It might have been faster, but I was unable to stick to all of the recommendations like those above; I couldn't remove the grains, sugar, etc., but I did my best to cut those things down. I also dropped down to taking the herbal tablet to only twice a day. Still, I had great success. From day one I felt results, and it continued to improve slowly. I really don't remember specifically how long it took. I think I took the herbal tablets for 5 or 7 months. I stopped at some point during that time, and felt it was returning, so I continued again.

Finding a tablet form was great because then I didn't have to guess at the dosage of those herbs, but if I could only find the herbs, then that is what I would do. I wish I remembered the chiropractor's name or website, I would have thanked him.

I will add, the things that didn't work for me: VCO only made me gain weight, it was terrible. I loved VCO until I tried it for this. There might have been a bit of relief, but not really. And, please people don't tell me all the reasons why this couldn't have happened because 'VCO won't cause weight gain', because that is simply not true.

Borax, although it seemed to give some relief, I just couldn't stay with it systematically, and found it difficult to drink at work.

I know I tried other things, just don't remember now. It's been 7 or 8 years, and it hasn't returned so I'm all for the herbs. Good luck. :-)

Xylitol and Borax
Posted by Mhikl (Alberta, CA) on 10/08/2014
5 out of 5 stars

I have been using Xylitol in both my neti bottle and my spray bottle in all head orifices for five years. It has cleared itch from my eyebrows (one application seemed to do that), and continuously in my ears, eyes and nose. Itch is gone, sinuses relieved (though not extinguished without out use) and I have not had a cold or flue since beginning the practice.

About six months ago I began also spraying with a borax solution. I tried mixing it with my Xylitol & sodium buffer but the taste turned to sour and did not seem to work at all. Then I tried doing each job separately; first the Xylitol spray until my nostrils opened and all passages where cleared of phlegm and particles. Then I 'snort' water to further clear out the sinus cavities. Lastly I spray with my borax solution three or so times. My theory is that it may help with eventually extinguishing my sinus infection.

To make my borax solution I simmer a litre of water with about 2-3 Tbsp borax. When it seems dissolved (no particles evident) I let it cool and then save in a glass jar. When it cools over night there are clear crystals of borax at the bottom of the jar. I then pour the clear liquid into my dollar store 250 ml spray bottle and that becomes my borax spray. When the glass bottle is nearly empty, with new distilled water I wash the clear crystals into a pan and re-simmer, cool and return the liquid to the glass container. And the process begins again.

Here is the naughty. I recently had begun to smoke cigarettes again after about five years using electric cigarettes. The Xylitol was then not having the effect it did before and my nose stayed stuffed up which led me to experiment with the borax (I use borax in everything and every way I can possibly think up). That did the trick. (I am returning to electric nicotine as it does seem to have health benefits for me whist the 'smoke' variety does not.)

One possible warning with the salt in your nose. Use as little as possible. I have read that a strong solution can actually harm the lining of the nasal cavities. The little packets that come with neti pots and bottles is about the right amount to use as a buffer.

I also use borax and powdered Himalayan salt as my toothpaste and body soap. I leave the solution on my skin for about four minutes whilst I gently brush my teeth. This I have read, does rejuvenates the skin and cleans it without stripping the oils.

Note also that Dr Mercola says that vitamin D from noon time sun (10am~2pm) is in the oil on your skin and that it takes 48 hours to be absorbed. The borax/sodium soak on the skin (no cloth used) does not seem to strip the oils from my skin. I only pour it on the skin and gently smooth it around.

Namaste and care,

For chronic fungal best advice is BUY A BLACK LIGHT and use it to clean yourself and your environment very well. These are extremely cheap online. Fungus will glow green in the black light. Once you have your black light, look carefully at your surroundings- at your bathroom, where you sleep, your clothes, etc. (but keep in mind that it's much easier to see the glowing fungus on a black background than on a white background, so you may not be able to see it on white sheets and towels). Bleach your bathroom, wash your clothes, etc. to kill the fungus. Use a new towel each time, and change your sheets every day (especially your pillowcase if your infection is in/on your head), at least until the infection is gone and preferably a little beyond. Wash sheets in hot water, preferably with bleach. When you shower, soap up your entire body and wash your hair to remove all fungal spores.

For Carmel, if the infection is in your sinuses, use a neti pot to clean your sinuses, and add a little apple cider vinegar. Use 1 cup distilled water with 1/2 tsp sea salt and mix well. Now add a few drops of Apple Cider Vinegar (organic with the mother is preferable). You want to add just enough Apple Cider Vinegar so that it stings a little, but doesn't burn. Keep adding apple cider vinegar, a few drops at a time, until you find the right amount. Your tolerance for the apple cider vinegar should increase over time as the infection clears. Use this nasal rinse, one cup for each nostril, in the morning and at night.

I also want to mention that you may have what is called a "fungal ball". You might want to go to an ENT (ear nose throat) doctor and have them image your sinuses to see if this is the case. If it is, they can do an inpatient treatment where they basically vacuum out the fungal ball. Even if you do this, however, you want to clean the fungus from your home so that it does not reoccur.

For chronic skin fungal infections, use apple cider vinegar and a zinc oxide diaper creme (do online searches to find those with the highest amount of zinc). Swab the infected area with apple cider vinegar (diluted with water if the infection is bad, it will burn-- again you are looking for a ratio that will cause a little sting, not a burn as you do not want to unnecessarily degrade the skin with the Apple Cider Vinegar) and then apply the diaper creme over the area. The apple cider vinegar kills the fungus, and the diaper creme acts as a barrier for the skin that has been damaged by the fungus, to help the skin heal and to prevent re-infection with the fungus. If you can, stay at home and keep a thin layer of the barrier creme on your skin at all times until skin's own barrier regrows.

And I think it goes without not use corticosteroids on your skin!!! Hydrocortisone creme that you buy over the counter is a corticosteroid. These suppress your immune system and can thin the skin and cause permanent changes that degrade the skin's natural barriers.

I hope this can help someone...I suffered with fungal infections on my face, including my eyes, for years before I figured this all out.

Hi Meah...Using a GAPS diet with probiotics will certainly help to manage your candida problem but will not cure it. By manage I mean only attempting to manage and lessen symptoms.

Personally I would never be satisfied with just managing candida symptoms, I would always go for an outright cure no matter what it takes. Managing symptoms from serious autoimmune or iodiopathic diseases is also the allopathic medical way which pays the drugs companies so well when you have to take their drugs for life. The same applies to GAPS and probiotics. These will help manage and perhaps lessen the candida symptoms but, with a serious systemic candida infection that has been inside you for over a decade, those protocols will never actually cure or eradicate the candida fully from your body.

I know all this because I work with an autistic group where every single child or baby has serious systemic candida and parasite issues. Many parents admit to trying probiotics and many are on the GAPS diet. But they use other more focused protocols to actually kill the candida and parasites throughout the body as well because they want their children to be cured of candida and parasites -- that's the only way to cure autism.

Using probiotics will only ever act to perhaps improve conditions in just the intestines only. Probiotics will not act throughout the body -- throughtout the blood, tissues and organs -- to get rid of the systemic candida there. It only acts within the intestines.

It's also been my experience that just using a diet alone will never fully cure serious systemic candida issues either. Many people in the autistic group use the GAPS diet, but they all use many other protocols as well to kill the candida, remove poisons, remove parasites and remove heavy metals.

What will probably happen when you go on the GAPS diet is that you may well feel better. But the minute you stray off the diet, eat some grains or eat or drink something you shouldn't -- then the candida symptoms come roaring back and that means that you still have systemic candida inside you. So this is really why I regard that sort of approach as solely symptom management and not a cure.

I cured myself of serious systemic candida issues 8 years ago. It took a while but all my symptoms eventually disappeared and I can now eat any form of food that I like in reasonable amounts with no adverse reactions. So I regard that result as a cure and not just due to successful symptom management because I have no symptoms now.

You can find my own anti-candida protocol here on EC.

I've been struggling with this for over a decade now, and recently discovered the GAPS diet, which addresses these physical symptoms as a side effect of horrible imbalance of gut bacteria. There's a website and a book by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride that deals with how to heal this systemically, and she's quite thorough, I think. I've only been on the diet for a few weeks now but feeling very good. There are several levels to the diet, but it is essentially a grain-free diet with lots of probiotics as supplements and fermented foods. I would recommend trying it!

RH: Did those body cleanses include anti-parasite? This is very important.

To treat the fungus, you can take any of these 3 remedies (rotation is best), orally or topically or both ---Borax, ACV, Hydrogen Peroxide. The H2O2 will temporarily remove the color from your hair.

I reading with great interest because I have had fungus on my scalp for almost 30 yrs. I first got it during a very difficult pregnancy when I was very very acidic. The doc gave me some kind of cream... don't remember what... I used it.. the fungus went away and came right back. The he told me that it was in the roots of my hair and would keep coming back. He also said that it would go away when my hormones changed when I was 55. That seemed forever but I was looking forward to that day... it came and went.

The fungus is worse than ever. I have tried putting these things on my scalp ..coconut oil (makes it better but it comes back in a couple of days, neem oil... same thing.... neem oil with pau d' arco.. same thing... colloidal silver cream.. this one didn't work at all... glover's sarcoptic mange medicine... the ingredient list would make your blood run cold and they don't sell it any more.. you have to buy it as an antique. It works the best, but only for about 3 days. I've also tried coconut oil with oregano oil... not sure how it's going to work because I haven't tried it long enough.

I've also done 3 full body cleanses from baseline nutritionals which includes a heavy metal cleanse. It may be worse now than ever. I feel part of that was because I had to take an antibiotic for 9 months because I was exposed to TB. I'm really about at my wits end with it. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Gymnema Slyvestre

Science Daily article:

From Kansas State University

Treat the fungus among us with nontoxic medicinal compound

"Taking the medicine could potentially help patients control the invasive growth of the fungus and also help bring their sugar levels down." – Govindsamy Vediyappan, assistant professor of biology Govindsamy Vediyappan, assistant professor of biology, noticed that diabetic people in developing countries use a medicinal herb called Gymnema slyvestre to help control sugar levels. He decided to study the microbiological use of Gymnema slyvestre -- a tropical vine plant found in India, China and Australia -- to see if it could treat a common human fungal pathogen called Candida albicans.

The investigation was successful on two levels: Vediyappan's research team found the medicinal compound is both nontoxic and blocks the virulence properties of the fungus so that it is more treatable.

The results are important for human health, biomedical applications and potential drug development. "We have shown that this compound is safe to use because it doesn't hurt our body cells, yet it blocks the virulence of this fungus under in vitro conditions, " Vediyappan said. "Taking the medicine could potentially help patients control the invasive growth of the fungus and also help bring their sugar levels down."

Candida albicans is one of the major fungal pathogens in humans because it lives in oral and intestinal areas as a normal flora, Vediyappan said. But the fungus can overgrow and can cause oral, intestinal and genital infections.

The mortality rates for those with candidemia and invasive candidiasis has been reported to be quite high, and it is a concern among cancer patients -- especially patients with neck or oral cancer -- HIV patients, organ transplant patients and other people with compromised immune systems.

The fungus can grow in two forms: a treatable yeast and a difficult-to-treat hyphal form. Once the fungus transforms from a yeast to a hyphal growth it becomes difficult to treat because the hyphal growth has long filament-like structures that can spread into various organs.

Vediyappan's study aimed to block the hyphal growth form. "Once it gets into the tissue, it spreads like roots and is difficult to contain by our immune system, " Vediyappan said. If the fungus remains in yeast form, it is easy to manage and does not invade tissues. Vediyappan's research team purified gymnemic acid compounds that prevented the transition stage from occurring and stopped the fungus spread. The gymnemic acids come from the leaves of Gymnema sylvestre, a traditional medicinal plant. The research appears in the peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE in an article titled "Gymnemic acids inhibit hyphal growth and virulence in Candida albicans." Gymnema extract is commonly used to treat diabetes and other ailments because it is a cost-effective treatment, Vediyappan said.

Often, people drink the extract to control their sugar levels or to lose weight. Although Vediyappan's research team is not the first to discover gymnemic acid compounds, the team is the first to discover that the compounds block the fungal transition.

The researchers found that the compounds work quickly, too, which was an important characteristic. The treatable fungal yeast can transition to a hyphal growth within 30 minutes of an infection. When the hyphal transition has occurred, it will grow into branched filaments.

The gymnemic acid compounds are nontoxic, which is especially important for cancer patients and other immunocompromised patients. The gymnemic acids can stop the unwanted invasive infection while preserving important healthy cells. The Candida albicans fungus also makes a biofilm, which is a fungal cell collection that can be difficult to treat. The researchers found that the gymnemic acid compounds converted the biofilm back to treatable yeast cells. "This compound prevents the biofilm formation because hyphae are the major builders of biofilms and biofilms are resistant to antifungals, " Vediyappan said. "Yeast cells by themselves cannot make biofilms and are sensitive to antifungal treatments."

Another interesting aspect: The gymnemic acid compounds also stopped the growth of Aspergillus, another fungal pathogen that can affect heart transplant patients and leukemia patients. Vediyappan plans future studies to research mode of action, potential drug development, diabetes applications and other ways to improve treatment for Candida albicans and other fungal pathogens.

Dear Om,

Thank you for thinking of me!

I am not having ear pain any more. I am treating my ear with Colloidal Silver.

A friend of mine who is an RN looked in my ear for me earlier this week. The ear was very red, though it didn't exactly look like an infection. She couldn't see a perforation, but apparently you can't always see them. She suggested treating it as if it were a perforation (sounds much less dramatic than rupture! ) since I could taste what I put in my ear. So, that is what I am doing. She said she would look at it again in a few days and see how it is progressing.

I wil keep you posted...

Dear Ladybug,

I am not the original poster of this thread, but we do use apple cider vinegar topically. I use it straight on the skin sometimes (for bug bites.) But if using on sensitive skin areas or young children, I use 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. I knew a lady who cured a fungal infection in a sensitive area and she diluted it by putting 2 T. vinegar into a cup of water and applying with a cottonball.

Let us know if it works for you!

Hi Jim...The alkalizing protocols can be found here on EC:

Several versions of the Carbicarb remedy are described here by Ted:

Here is another very powerful alkalizing drink that you could use:

What would also help you is if you had a hair analysis. This will tell you exactly what heavy metals and other poisons(like fluorine and bromine) you have in your body in excess. Similarly, a hair analysis will also tell you what essential minerals and nutrients you are lacking in your diet. Once you have this information -- then you can act on it to regain the health of you immune system.

The at-a-glance activity of the full anti-candida protocol is shown in tabulated format here:

Your reaction to just bicarb was unusual but could have been due to a die-off. Have you been checked for parasites? There are many bacteria as well as parasites that can also be associated with candida infections. If you have parasites, then Turpentine will also get rid of parasites efficiently or, if you prefer, you can use Hulda Clark's Parasite Cleanse(best to Google it).

The MSDS(Material safety Data Sheet), which is the bible for chemical toxicity and handling, in a comparison, shows that borax has about the same toxicity level as common table salt. However, borax is an efficient and renowned fungal killer.

Turpentine has a toxicity(LD50) of about 5000 mgs/kg as explained in this link. Therefore, to kill a man weighing 100 kgs would take about 500 mls -- that's approx 2 glassfuls of turpentine -- to kill him. I'm asking you to take just a one teaspoon dose a day.

For the turpentine, start out with 1/4 tspn dose taken twice a week. Increase the dosage to one teaspoon using drop increments. Then increase the the frequency to once every day if you can. Take this for about one month then stop the turps for about a week. Then restart the turps protocol again. You will have to find the dose and frequency that suits you best.

Also be aware that the most likely reasons for heavy die-off or a healing crisis will come from either the candida-kill remedies(ie Iodine, borax, turpentine, alkalizing) and detox remedies eg sodium thiosulphate, chlorella etc. If this happens then either reduce the dosage or frequency of these particular remedies accordingly.

Unfortunately, in the more serious cases of systemic candida, these Herx or Detox -- healing crisis reactions -- are fairly typical and unavoidable. If nothing happens when you first start taking an anti-candida protocol -- then its probably not working very well.

Hi there, I'm new to all this. I am writing to mainly ask Bill from San Fernando in the Phillipines about his post on this page, and of course I welcome help from all.

Well, I have had a severe problem with my scalp for years. Having had private testing I have become aware that I have candida and also klebsiella. My naturapath put me on various things to kill off both over a long period of time but nothing she tried got rid of the scalp problem. I have a long history of poor digestion, I don't assimilate my food and so am very thin and have chronic diarrhea. I use kefir as a means to slow my digestion and keep intestinal flora up and I use wild oregano oil to keep my bacteria/yeast problems down. The oregano oil doesn't help with my scalp though. One problem I gain from the oregano oil is that is causes me hip pain.

I have read Bill's suggestions and have bought Bicarb of soda (one with no aluminium), borax, lugols iodine and also essential oil of turpentine.

Well, I started on the bicarb as it was the first to arrive. What happened was that it immediately caused me to have diarrhea. This may be fine in a relatively health individual but not in me.

It is obvious to me that I have a very severe case of candida that is probably causing me to have leaky gut syndrome. It requires a hardcore approach. I know that as a child I had an enormous amount of antibiotics as a result of various health issues. I know to keep the probiotics up and I have got the anti-candida diet sorted too. What I want to know is what should I take to kill the candida (and anything else that I didn't kill yet! ) without causing my weakened body more problems?

Bill, you mention Ted's alkalizing remedies but you don't say what they actually are. You mention also Ted's Carbibarb remedy, what is that? I'm scoured the whole of the listing and can't find it. I can't cope with bicarb so how can I alkalize? To me lemon/lime alone is childsplay and alkalizing water doesn't work either.

I'm a bit worried about taking borax and the turp oil but I have to end my problems with candid asap. Having read alot about the biofilm theory of candida I see that I have much work to do. I have tried using the enzyme approach to remove the biofilm but it didn't produce results. When I was on the kill off I took great care of my liver for processing and my digestion was pretty normal, as soon as I stop the problems recur.

I will try with the borax, lugol's and turp oil, and anti-candida diet I shall continue. Please let me know if I'm on the right track.

I appreciate your help in advance.

I have been drinking 1/4 tsp. Borax with 1 litre water for the last 6 months. After about 2 weeks I felt really bad for a few days but continued drinking it. Those symtoms went away and I feel better than I have in years. I talked to my Doctor and he said it is fine to drink. Borax is a mineral and healthier than using salt. I have what I assume to be morgellons (no Doctor will diagnose it). Borax was the only thing that took away the bugs. My environment still has them, I have found nothing that got rid of them. I now have bug zappers in my home and am making some progress. Sometimes the government while trying to keep us safe overstates the side effects. In the 1800's people drank borax water for a multitude of health issues. Sometimes there is truth to Old Wive's Tales.

Hi Carmel.... I also had the systemic or disseminated form of candida(both the yeast and fungal forms) and managed to get rid of it completely with no further recurrence of candida in the last 7 years. I also had similar problems to you -- brain fog, lethargy, low energy, low thyroid, skin problems, arryhmias, constipation, etc.

Essentially the Anti-Candida Protocols shown here does much more than just kill candida. The strategy comprises:

Wide Spectrum Anti-Candida and Anti-Pathogen Protocols

Anti-Biofilm Protocols(Lugols Iodine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Borax, Alkalizing)

Body Alkalizing Protocols

Essential Detox Protocols

Liver Support Protocols

Vitamin and Nutrient Support (Immune System Support)

The Health Defence Diet

I simply used this multi-protocol approach based on Ted from Bangkok's remedies against fungus and a strict diet which is all shown below:

Anti-Candida Protocol

Remedies that Directly Attack Candida(Mandatory)
I must stress here -- to avoid any confusion -- that not all of the attack remedies below need to be used. These are just options for you. Furthermore, if recommendations are needed for clarity's sake -- I have also personally found that using Ted's Alkalizing Remedies, Lugol's Iodine and Borax in combination to be very useful at curing candida problems. But if these nutrients are hard to get -- just use another combination from below of your own choice.

* Take Ted's Lime/Lemon baking soda water alkalizing remedy at least 2 times a day as recommended. I used mainly the ACV, lemon or lime as well as just the sodium bicarb with water alkalizing remedies which also act to kill candida. These alkalizing remedies create the worst possible environment for the candida while simultaneously creating a healthy body terrain. Also take the Baking Soda with waterremedy on it's own throughout the day and one hour before bed - this will help you get a good nights sleep. If you have problems with this remedy, then use Ted's Carbicarb remedy -- this is more balanced and incorporates potassium to balance any sodium issues. Potassium citrate can be taken to more directly aid intracellular alkalization. See this link for the alkalizing remedies:

* Supplementing with at least 50 mgs to 100 mgs of 5% Lugols Iodine per day - 8 to 16 drops a day(or as much as you can stand without problems) in split doses taken four times a day(not at mealtimes) in a glass of water. Iodine will also help to balance your hormones because it supports the thyroid and is also able to remove dangerous halogens like fluorine and bromine from your body. Lugol's Iodine also chelates heavy metals like aluminium, cadmium, lead and mercury from your body and this is very beneficial. LI also kills 90% -- 95% of all known pathogens - including candida. You can also use Kelp as the iodine source - but this does not really give sufficiently high amounts of iodine/iodide needed to kill the candida in my opinion.

* Drink 1/4 teaspoon of Tetrasodium Borate or Borax(1/8 tspn for women) in a litre of water throughout the day. Take this protocol for 5 days on then rest for 2 days. So, 5 days on, 2 days off with the Borax. Borax is the ultimate anti-fungal, also good for bones and helps to balance the hormones as well as chelates and removes fluoride from the body. Borax affects your male hormones or androgens in a viagra-like manner, which is why you must rest for 2 days -- to avoid gland over-stimulation.

* Sodium Molybdate or Molybdenum. Take at least 900 mcg Molybdenum a day. Sodium Molybdate kills candida and also removes the debilitating candida alcohol and aldehyde poisons from the body via the aldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme pathway(needs molybdenum) in the body -- this will help to remove symptoms like nausea, flu-like symptoms, aches and pains, brain fog and lethargy problems. Ted recommends supplementing between 10 mg and 25 mgs sodium molybdate a day taken for only two weeks to quickly kill off the candida -- but I've found Sodium Molybdate or Molybdenum difficult to purchase in amounts greater than 900 mcgs(the highest allowed RDA dosage).

* Hydrogen peroxide (food grade) I just use a capful of 3% HP in one litre of water a day when I need it. HP kills bacteria, viruses and fungi and it also helps greatly to clear and unblock the lymph glands. Sometimes I splash 3% HP all over my body, this kills everything bad topically as well as being absorbed quite well transdermally into my body by this method. Very potent against all forms of bacteria, viruses and fungus. Do not use Lugol's Iodine together with Hydrogen Peroxide in the daily protocol - because they tend to neutralize and cancel each other out - so just use one or the other in your protocol. See this link:

Caveat: Although Hydrogen Peroxide is highly useful -- it does have its downside. Some people get nausea, migraine headaches etc when they supplement HP. HP also inactivates or neutralizes and depletes antioxidants in the body because of its pro-oxidant effects. I always prefer to use lugol's iodine against candida because it isn't as complicated to use as HP. But if lugol's iodine cannot be found or used -- use HP as recommended and increase anti-oxidant intake at the same time.

* Methylene Blue(MB). You can buy this at any aquatics or fish supply store. It is used to get rid of fungal and bacterial infections on fish. Also used throughout the last century as a successful anti-malarial. Taking MB on its own will turn your urine green and the whites of your eyes blue, but if you take at least 1000 mgs Vitamin C with the MB, these side-effects will not occur. Dosage: 4 - 6 drops of a 0. 1% solution of MB in a full glass of water once or twice a day. Do not take MB after 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon - it gives you alot of energy so you will not be able to sleep, MB is a deep acting anti-fungal that is able to penetrate the blood/brain and blood/bone barriers of the body. MB is also a marvellous mitochondrial super anti-oxidant for your brain -- gives you lots of energy.

* Pau D'Arco(Tabebuia impetiganosa). This is a very effective herb against candida with a solid and useful reputation as an effective anti-fungal. This is best taken as a tea or capsule(1000 mgs twice a day).

Body Detox(Mandatory)
* Detox and get rid of heavy metals from your body. Due to diet and if you've taken medicinal drugs for any length of time your body will have an accumulation of heavy metals. To get rid of these problems just drink green tea 2 or 3 times a day and eat Cilantro 3 times a week in salads. You can also use Sodium Thiosulphate to get rid of heavy metals, arsenic, cyanide and chlorine. ST will get rid of heavy metals over time. Use 6-10 drops of 10% ST solution in a full glass of water daily. Heavy metals create an ideal acidic environment for candida as well as for nanobacteria.

* Chlorella - Also for detoxing heavy metals and for mineral support.

* Using Lugol's Iodine in the protocols is also the best way to detox fluoride and bromide from the body and will also help to remove heavy metals like aluminium, lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic from the body.

Additional Support with Vitamin and Mineral Supplements(Optional)

* Vitamin C - Taken in the more alkaline form of Sodium Ascorbate -- at least 1000 mgs three times a day. Vit C is an anti-oxidant and also chelates heavy metals from the body as well.

* Magnesium - Taken as Mag Chloride, Mag Citrate or Mag Gluconate. Dosage: 250 mgs twice a day. Magnesium Oil(40% water 60% magnesium chloride) cab also be used transdermally. Magnesium is involved in over 300 major enzyme and coenzyme body processes and also gets rid of any staph or strep bacteria quite well. Magnesium Chloride is the best form of magnesium to take in my opinion.

* Take at least 2 tablespoons of Virgin Coconut Oil(VCO) per day with meals to help constipation and intestinal issues. VCO contains mainly medium chain saturated acids, very protective for the intestines, liver and blood. Contains lauric acid, caproic acid, capric acid, caprylic acid and myristic acid -- these act as anti-microbials helping to destroy the candida as well as protecting the intestines from any further external microbial invasion. I don't use vegetable oils anymore, I cook only with VCO now.

* Zinc gluconate or zinc acetate - Helps to support the immune system. 25mgs - 50mgs taken for one week, then take this dose once a week thereafter.

* Natural Sea Salt or Fulvic/Humic Acid. Both of these will act in the same way as absorption synergists as well as helping to create a healthy intestine and help to supply other important and much needed micro-minerals to your body.

* Selenium - 200 mcg twice a day at mealtimes. Selenium helps remove mercury and supports the liver and thyroid. There is no need to take this dose if you are also already tking the recommended liver support(which includes selenium).

* Vitamin B3 - as niacin or niacinamide. Dosage: 500 mgs twice a day. Be aware of the "niacin flush" effect if you take the niacin form. Niacin is anti-candida and supports the liver, digestion and is relaxing for the body.

* Take B50 Complex three times a week - this is beneficial for digestion and will also help fight candida. It also acts synergistically when higher dose B3 is also supplemented.

Liver and Kidney Support(Optional)
* Take herb supplements like Chanca Piedra, Milk Thistle or Dandylion because the candida die-off will create a big strain on both your immune system and the liver/kidneys which will have to clear the dead candida debris and toxins from your blood. Think of this as taking out the candida trash. This die-off will give you flu-like or liverish symptoms and perhaps some diarrhea. You will probably feel much worse before you feel better. Accept this and work your way through it as this should disappear once your body gains control again. If you have actual liver damage then taking Milk Thistle(1000 mgs twice a day at lunch and dinner) in combination with Alpha Lipoic Acid(300 mgs twice a day at lunch and dinner) and Selenium(200 micrograms twice a day at lunch and dinner) will help to support the liver and kidneys. See this research here -

Candida Protocol Guidelines
At the barest minimum, candida sufferers should essentially use the following strategies in their protocols:

* Use at least two or three of the remedies that directly attack and kill the candida if you can. Alkalizing, Lugol's Iodine and borax in combination are my own unquestioned favourites for killing off candida because this combo has worked so well for me in the past.

* Always use the alkalizing remedies.

* Use protocols that remove and detox all heavy metals, halogens (fluoride, bromide, chorine) and other chemical poisons from the body. Poisons drag down the body's immune system, they acidify the body and create the perfect environment for candida.

* It is also strongly advised that all the vitamin and mineral support nutrients be taken in their proper orthomolecular dosages as stated above. These nutrients help to address other metabolic issues that may also contribute to and exacerbate candida problems. I also tend, whenever possible, to buy the pure powder forms of vitamins and minerals because these forms are pure and contain no fillers, additives or caking agents.

* Liver and kidney anti-oxidant support is also advised in cases where there is a heavy or severe die-off or detox effect, which tends to stress the liver and kidneys thus causing nausea and flu-like symptoms.

* Stop taking antibiotics!! Antibiotics will kill all the beneficial bacteria in the gut and helps to create acid intestines and dysbiosis via a condition called the Antibiotic Syndrome. This is highly beneficial to the spread of candida.

* The Anti-Candida Diet is a no-brainer when you ask yourself, "How did I get candida in the first place?"

Understanding Detox or Die-off Reactions(The Jarisch-Herxheimer Effect)
It has been my own experience that people will always get an initial die-off reaction when moving onto an anti-candida protocol such as this one. A die-off or a detox reaction is due to either large amounts of candida debris or mycotoxins and/or heavy metals or halogens being released into the blood which will cause particular stress on the immune system, liver and kidneys. So liver/kidney and immune support may well be necessary to help reduce or alleviate the die-off/detox symptoms(which is included in the protocol). A reduction in anti-candida dosages may also be required for a while to make the die-off or detox bearable for the user during the healing crisis as well. When people are infected with systemic candida and attempt a cure - they should always expect an initial period of time during which they may feel considerably worse due to these die-off and detox reactions. This die-off reaction is actually a good sign and proves that the protocol is working against the candida. This die-off or Herx reaction will vary from person to person and its duration will completely depend on the extent of the candida infection and will also depend on the current health state of each individual at the time. This detox or Herx reaction is completely normal and is medically recognized and will last until the candida debris and poisons are reduced and removed from the body and will also depend on when the immune system once more is able to dominate and control the body's health again.

Essential Anti-Candida Diet(Mandatory)
1. NO SUGAR. No means NONE -- no ifs or buts!! Candida, viruses, bacteria and all pathogens all feed off sugar, which promotes their rapid growth and spread. When too much sugar is eaten constantly everyday, this habit also works to greatly lower the immune system's capability to fight disease. Cancers grow in the presence of fructose found it fruits and to survive they need glucose.

2. Greatly reduced Carbohydrate intake. The Western diet is effectively an energy dense but nutrient deficient diet in terms of minerals and vitamins. Therefore for sugar-loving diseases like cancer and candida, carbohydrates are banned because they so easily convert to sugar in the body. If you can, eat carbohydrates that have a low glycaemic index, which are digested and absorbed slowly in the body and which do not cause high sugar spikes in the body which tends to brings down the immune system and feed the invading pathogens as well. Also beware that Glycemic Index doesn't measure the type of sugar so is not a perfect measure or guide to go by.

2. No junk food allowed. Contains way too much refined salt, MSG, vegetable oils and other additives. All bad.

3. No vegetable oils in the diet. Vegetable oil oxidizes fairly quickly on the shelf from sunlight and very rapidly at high heat because they are polyunsaturated (weak chemical bonds) fats. Most RBD vegetable oils nowadays are also now made from an unnatural chemical process. As far back as 1962, Dr Denham Harman, a Nobel Prize winner who discovered the anti-oxidant nature of vitamins, proved and concluded in his famous experiments feeding mice vegetable oils with their food, that chemically processed vegetable oils or polyunsaturated oils significantly contribute to causing cancer. So, better to use a saturated fat like virgin coconut oil(VCO) or even grass-fed lard for cooking -- saturated fats are more stable oils that do not oxidize easily and are also good for you. Many vegetarian websites quote The Okinawan Diet as their reason for just vegetables being good for you -- which is inaccurate. If you read the book, The Okinawan Diet -- which carefully defines this diet through their research -- the Okinawans generally used pork offal and pork fat in all their healthy cooking -- and, in their pre-WW2 diet they never used whole grain bread, olive oil, soy milk, apples, and yogurt as many articles suggest. When I had systemic candida and started taking coconut oil, my bad constipation and bloating issues disappeared in about two weeks and my bowels became regular again. VCO is very healthy for your body and intestines. I only ever cook with VCO now and VCO has actually helped me to lose weight. Since the 1960s, baby-foods have been using only coconut oil in their cooked products and those in hospital with intestinal trauma are usually always fed with food cooked in coconut oil now. VCO helps to protect the intestines and the body and is also anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal. The reason for avoiding vegetable oils is because most contain hydrogenated fats or trans fatty acids and these should instead be replaced and supplemented in the form of Omega 3 fish oil or hemp oil which is not chemically processed or heated.

4. No soda pop. Apart from containing sugar, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) fructose and aspartame, sweet soda drinks also contain carbonic and phosphoric acids as well as halogens like fluorides in their mix -- all of which only works to greatly acidify your body. HFCS also contains mercury and also contains poisonous chemicals like glutaraldehyde -- which is normally used as a poisonous industrial cleaner.

5. No Sweeteners allowed -- no aspartame, sucralose or saccharine. These are excitotoxins (aspartame) which helps to destroy your CNS. In our bodies, aspartame metabolizes to formaldehyde and methanol which is also a poison. In the old days people used stills to make their own illicit distilled alcoholic beverages and if they were not careful in their process methanol would form. It is also well known that wood alcohol or methanol is poisonous and that as little as 10 ml would be enough to cause permanent blindness in humans. Aspartame is also acidifying. Sucralose is chlorinated hydrocarbons and, in tests, it causes shrunken thymus, enlarged kidneys, abortion, low fetal weights, as these areas are all sensitive to chlorine compounds in hydrocarbon forms. Saccharine, even a moderate dose, can increase significant incidence of tumors in people with cancer.

6. Eat chicken, fish and meat in small amounts. Proteins -- meats -- eaten in excessive quantities are acidifying and, as we get older, our body has difficulty digesting them. It should preferably be partially cooked to ease the breaking down of proteins.

7. No baking products like bread, cakes, pastries, etc. In the 70s the FDA, in their wisdom, allowed the use of bromide and bromates in bread-making instead of iodine. Bromine weakens the immune system and encourages acid body. Wheat also contains alloxan, a poison which can help to destroy the pancreas and cause diabetes over time. Wheat also contains gluten.

8. In your diet, include using a handful of raw, chopped coriander leaf or cilantro in a salad three times a week and drink green tea 2-3 times a day. Maintaining this regimen for a month will remove most heavy metals successfully from your body.

9. No canned products in the diet. Bisphenol A -- or BPA -- is contained in all plastic linings of canned products and is very bad for you. It acts as a psuedo-estrogen -- a female hormone -- and upsets hormone balance, therefore weakening the immune system.

10. No Calcium which means no dairy products -- no milk, no cheese, no yoghurt etc. Avoid all calcium fortified foods. Excess calcium encourages acidity throughout the body and particularly in the tissue cells where it tends to cause myalgia pain. In 1970 the recommended calcium to magnesium ratio was 4:1. Then it became 2:1 in the 1990s. I'm guessing that, probably in another 10 years, these same RDA experts will recommend a calcium to magnesium ratio of 1:1. Ted recommends taking no Calcium supplementation in your diet because western foods are all over-fortified with calcium now. Calcium causes acidity inside the cells when taken in excess and when magnesium is lacking in the diet. Magnesium regulates Calcium in the body.

11. No Fruits. In general most fruits contain citric acid and sugar -- especially the citrus fruits. In a healthy body that can cope with the acid and sugars from fruits it is fine to eat fruits in moderation. But if you are ill with an acid-loving and sugar-loving disease like candida or cancer then any acid or sugar food like fruits will actually promote spread because eating fruits uses up your alkaline body bicarbonates during digestion. This further weakens the immune system, increases blood acidity and helps diseases like cancer to dominate the body. You can eat fruit extracts that don't contain fructose, such as red wine extract, grape seed extract, etc.

12. No Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) allowed for the same reasons as aspartame. The antidote to MSG is taurine amino acid which is mainly found in fish. See this link on MSG.

13. Avoid GMO foods. The most common GMO food is actually wheat. But there is also soy GMO. All soy products which are made from a chemical process -- including soy sauce, tofu etc. Are not allowed. But any soy products made from a natural and organic fermentation process are allowed. If you buy soya products like soya milk, make sure it is organic and contains soya flour. But if it contains soya protein then it has been made from a chemical process and also might be GMO (especially in the US).

14. Avoid distilled water and tap-water. Distilled water is "dead water" -- it completely lacks any important body minerals that natural spring-water contains. If you drink distilled water, this will actually act to pull important minerals out of your body during digestion. Tap-water nowadays -- due to water shortages -- is now re-cycled and chemically processed from sewage (especially in cities) and stored in reservoirs that are fed with water tables polluted with agricultural fertilizers and pesticides, so goodness knows what evil goodies tap-water contains. Enough said I think. Drink fresh mineral or spring water or create your own mineral water instead. You should always drink 1 -- 2 glasses of water at mealtimes. This helps digestion and will improve your urine conductivity reading, provided your body minerals are in balance.

15. Use Sea Salt rather than refined table salt for all your cooking and eating needs. Sea salt contains many beneficial natural minerals, is alkaline, and also aids nutrient absorption and acts like a protective anti-biotic in the body which helps to protect the intestines and liver. Sea salt is also far more alkaline than refined table salt which is normally acid.

16. Try and avoid all (chemically) processed food if you can. Try and eat foods that are made from natural processes without excess heating or use of chemicals. Read food labels carefully before you buy.

17. Whenever you eat your meals, it is always best to eat bigger meals at breakfast and lunch. Your evening dinner should be eaten early at about 5:00 pm because shortly after this time, your body goes into another mode. This mode slows down digestion, making it inefficient, which actually impairs digestion, such that large amounts of food can end up sitting and stagnating in your intestines for anything up to twelve12 hours. This encourages and results in acidity, pathogen growth and poisons being absorbed into the body from the intestines. So, better as a habit, to eat a much smaller quantity of food at dinner in the evening to ensure healthy and complete digestion of food before sleep.

If you are not allergic to it, try coconut oil. I take a teaspoon every morning in a 32oz jar of warmed water with 1-2 drops of iodine, 3 times a day. The coconut oil alliviates my brain fog, the idodine helps kill candida, and the jars of water helps flush the candida out of my system. At first, when your body is riddled with candida and the the coconut oil begins rooting it out, my body manifested detox symptoms before I felt better. I also cleaned out with a good paleo/candida diet of no grains, sodas, milk, potatoes (bain of diabetics), and absolutely no sugar. This works for me (unless I backslide, which, being human I occasionally do). Now, when talking about skin rashes, I'm the queen, but, I now clean my face with nothing but a warm, wet cotton round with coconut oil and a dash of cayenne pepper. Occasionally when my rash gets out of control (when I've eaten a candida no-no) I use Balmex (a diaper rash formula) or a yeast/fungus tube on candida's fungus spots on my face. It took soooo many months of experimenting to get what works for me right. When I eat sugars or high carb/grain, milk foods (candida's ambrosias) my problems flare up again, like clockwork. I believe wholeheartedly that if one is serious about getting rid of candida and ALL its symptoms, one must look at the diet that feeds it. I've found, when I flareup, that sticking with veggies and protein the first 2 weeks; then, if I crave something yummy, adding low sugar fruits like frozen, raw blueberries or 1/4 tart apple or 1/4 pear per a day keeps candida in check. Go online and check out the Paleo websites and receipes. A paleo way of eating, along with coconut oil, ACV, and LOTS OF WATER have given me a great boost in my health, particularly with MY candida issues.

Kater, he can dunk his wet finger into green clay or any kind of clay or activated charcoal. These things "pull out" junk. Just don't leave it on for too long at a time as it will be too strong for the finger.
