Natural Remedies for Endometriosis: Herbs, Supplements & Home Tips

LDN

I cured my endometriosis.

I had endometriosis for over 10 years.

For over 2 years I tried all sorts of alternative therapies with little or no relief, these included a parasite cleanse, as sometimes parasites can be what is causing the endometriosis. I also used acupuncture and Chinese herbs for over 2 years to manage my pain but unfortunately for me it could not stop the progression of the endo. 5 months before I considered myself cured, I started taking (LDN) Low dose naltrexone which really helped with general pain relief, depression, ME and fibromyalgia. It was challenging to get a prescription. LDN is a medication that works with your body's immune system through its interactions with your body's endorphins. Endorphins play a role in pain relief, immune system regulation, growth of cells and angiogenesis (the growth of blood vessels that feed a tumor). It is also sometimes used to improve fertility in endo patients.

Hey Marina,

TVCO can mean Tropical Virgin Coconut Oil and

EVCO can mean Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Does that fit the context?

If anyone had the worst endomertriosis ever it was my daughter. Since early teens her life was hell. The things that were happening to her you would only read in medical encyclopedia with an annotation "very rarely", and no doctors ever heard about it. She almost died from birthcontrol pills, slowly deteorating to the point that she had to walk with someone s help and looked like the last stage cancer patient. She was 19 at that time and running out of diagnoses; her doctor said it was all in her head. She run out of birth control pills one day and immediately felt better and better with each day with no birthcontrol pills.

She married her bf and they had a baby girl right after that as she was afraid she won't have children as doctors said. But the life of hell continued and all her doctors were saying that she had the worst endo ever. And there is nothing they could do but remove her organs. She did not want to live her life like that and was depressed. Fast forward, she went on a one full year of raw food only diet, no meat, gluten, etc. Her endo is a history now. She is not on a 100% raw diet anymore, but pretty strict on what she eats. No gluten for sure. One more note, she always had breast lumps, just like I did, and there is one supplement that really worked for us, especially for me-Bupleurum Entangled by Health COncerns. After one bottle course I was free of lumps for a year or two.

I as well was lucky enough to come across the sensible health website which explains endometriosis to the T! After becoming fed up with the conventional way of treating my endometriosis stage 4, meaning doctors wanted to place me on lupron to cease my menses or birth control to cease my menses. That was a no no I did not want to go through menopause at 23, also these meds do not even cure the disease just make you stop producing your own hormones therefore putting endometriosis to "sleep". I searched natural remedies for endometriosis and my life was changed ever since.

In addition to refraining from soy (MAJOR CULPRIT TO HORMONAL IMBALANCES) AND SWITCHING TO ORGANIC MEAT AND DAIRY and taking the recommended chinese herbs on the site which are buplerum and gentian (in order to detox the bad hormones accumulated in the liver), I can officially say that I have conquered my life again. I no longer feel the daily deliberating pain I once felt prior to getting on this regimen. I have completely forgotten that I dealt with this dreadful problem and instead of taking a hefty amount of pain killers during the time of the month, I now knock out the mild pain which I experience the first hour of starting my period with 1 advil. 1 advil a month VS 10 advils a day in the past. The sensible health author literally saved my life bc nothing else has worked

serrapeptase

★★★★★

I used this for a couple months prior to endo surgery. I had the surgery a few years back and had severe endometriosis and all my sx had returned so I was expecting another big removal. This time- nothing! No endometriosis at all. I think this may be the reason. I also use iodine, coconut oil, and acv, all only occasionally over the past 3 years. The serrapeptase was the only treatment I did daily.

However, I am still having heavy, painful periods. Cayenne, coconut oil, acv, mag oil, castor oil packs have not helped. Haven't found a solution yet. Also, I think I may have overdone the iodine because now I sweat massively at night, a sign of hyperthyroidism. I still use 4 drops of lugol's into my farm milk to sterilize each half gallon when I get it home.

I plan to continue using the iodine for my milk because the farm has campylobacter, but I won't but pasteurized milk and I have to drink milk to help with kidney stones. The iodine has defintely helped my interstitial cystitis dramatically, though. Borax helped that also, fyi, but again, that's not a super safe sounding cure to me, although I do use it on a rare occasion.

Yes iodine deficiency could definitely be the cause or part of the cause of your endometriosis.42% of women with endometriosis have thyroid problems.1 woman cured her endo by taking iodine http://www.topix.com/forum/health/endometriosis/TUA0R4LDRL0G919BH and quite a few women have cured their PCOS by following the iodine protocol.

If you are taking IC3...change over to the stabilized version called DIM as soon as possible. It is the derivative of IC3 without the volatile molecules contained in IC3. My doctor put me on this 14 years ago. It does elimate cysts and calcium deposits.

Please read the book what your doctor may not tell you about menopause by John Lee, he has two pages in his book on how those cysts come about and how to deal with them....

Don't worry if you are not in menopause, he is a specialist in Ob/gyn for his life work, many women have looked to him for answers.

I read that the consumption of milk thistle plant extract with enhanced effects of estrogen in the body. As you digest the milk thistle, certain plant compounds in it begin to mimic the physiological functions of estrogen. As a result, hormone-sensitive conditions such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, endometriosis or uterine fibroids may be worsened.

It may be a better alternative to take chinese bitters (bupleurum root).

This is very interesting. I've had ovarian cysts for almost 30 years, but this last year, they have become painful. It use to be that I would have pain at my right ovary, only when ovulating and only for part of a day. Last month, it bothered me the entire week of ovulation and again for the week of my period. Now, it is staying sore all the time. The link with the liver is interesting, because since having my gallbladder out and being on some strong IV antibiotics, my liver does not tolerate caffeine very well and I've been drinking quite a bit of it lately. I will go back to following a mostly vegetarian diet, with no caffeine and see if it helps. I had thought my liver was flaring up, because I tend to get cysts on my skin when this happens and I have them. Thanks for making the connection!

I use serrapeptase especially when I wake up in the night from pain in my uterus or ovaries due to endo and fibroids. Serrapeptase always seems to really help with the pain and really seems to clear any congestion or heaviness from that area. You must take it on an empty stomach though.

Apart from the home remedies you can try a combination of ayurvedic and homoeopathic remedies which are 100% safe and natural, free from side effects. Remedies such as OM24 ENDOmetease formula and C46 ENDOmetease formula gives good results. They work on our body by correcting the hormonal imbalances that cause the endometrial tissue to implant in places other than the uterine cavity;restoring the female reproductive endocrine axis to normalcy;providing relief from symptoms like abdominal pain and strengthening the immune system so that it may clear the retrograde menstruation properly thus preventing abnormal implantation. Along with this you also need to do some relaxation exercises with meditation and yoga.

It's a miracle! I've taken ACV & coconut oil for many years, herbs from an amazing Chinese herbalist who's healed me for many ailments and nothing has worked. Endometriosis has been a persistent problem. I've eaten a quater of a watermelon a day for the past 2 weeks for no other reason than I was craving it. I'm on the second day of my period - NO PAIN and NO CLOTS!!!!!!! I just googled the two together, apparently it's the Lycopene in watermelon, it contains more than tomato's. I can't quite believe it!

Have you tried using serrapeptase? It is a miracle enzyme that eats all the dead tissue and helps descrease inflammation and pain. It is very good for endometriosis as it will not only alleviate pain but would also eat the scar tissue or any cysts you have. Just make sure you take high potency (at least 90 000 IU) and also it should be enteric coated capsules. Best of luck, Linda

How does one "clean" their body of endo? I believe I have some creating a blockage in my colon as my digestive system shuts down and behaves as if it is compacted (only the clear mucus comes out) during my period. Right now I am taking bioidentical progesterone, Mg, and have eliminated many chemicals. Idk what else to do other than eliminate wheat (so what that be a paleo diet???) and my mercury fillings and maybe go back to getting Apple Cider Vinegar every day (I did this up until a couple of yrs ago). (I recently go kicked off of birth control after being on it for 15yrs fro endo due to a blood clot and now, I am having to try to deal with this naturally). Oh, I have also been taking Fibrovan and am going to also try Indole-3-carbinol (I3C). I have also been taking Iodine. Thanks, Lahoma

Hi, I had endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Went on the medical roundabout, medication - side effects - more medication. Took myself off them, and put up with it. My cycle if you can call it that was 1 - 12 months apart. I came across the herb Yarrow and took (sipped) 1 cup first thing in morning on an empty stomache and 1 cup in the afternoon. My cycle then became 1 - 2 months apart and some years later I conceived. It is also good to take at menopause. I would try and buy a good quality organic one that has not been irradiated. All the best.

Chantel, don't let anyone tell you it's impossible. I had a fertility specialist tell me it was impossible. I had endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and a blocked fallopian tube. My eggs also dropped down before optimal time to get fertilized. I can't remember the name of this condition. There was also at least three other problems. Long story short, I gave up, and after two years of no drugs, and no doctors. I got pregnant. Suprise suprise... Doctors don't know everything. They only know what they've learned in a book. Do what you need to to clean your body of the endometriosis. But, give your body the time it needs to heal, the less you focus on getting pregnant, the more relaxed you'll be to get pregnant. Good luck to you.

I would try Lugol's solution; Potassium Iodine/Iodide solution in water; available since 1829 and prescribed by every physician prior to the 1940's & 50's. Since Iodine is stored for our health in our brain, thyroid gland, breasts, ovaries and prostate and utilized by every cell in the body it can do no harm. In fact doctors used to learn a rhyme about it that goes like this; 'If ye don't know what when or why, prescribe ye then K and I. ' Which is Potassium Iodide. Since Fluorine, Chlorine & Bromine is used in our water supply, pesticides, hot tubs etc, these halogens compete for storage in the body with Iodine and flush it out of our system and block it's return. High levels B vitamins, Selenium, Vit. C is required to re-absorb iodine into the body. Have a look for a book by Dr. Brownstein called Iodine; why you need it, why you can't live without it.

I found out in February that I had endometriosis. After refusing to be thrown into menopause, which was suggested by my gyno, I decided to do lots of research. So far I have found out that you have to avoid soy and wheat products completely. I have been trying at this for quite awhile. It is hard to avoid foods I love, but it is worth it. Anytime I make a mistake the pain comes back within 20 min, but as long as I avoid it, I have no pain. Other things I found online to avoid is dairy, bad fats, and artificial sweeteners. The point of all of this is to avoid inflammation which causes the pain to worsen. The soy and wheat is avoided because they help your body produce the bad estrogen. I am now trying MSM to keep inflammation down. I am starting slowly at 500mg and upping that each week by 500mg till I find a level that helps the best. (on a side note the MSM got rid of my acid reflux two days after starting this). Another thing I read online through my researching is if you have metal fillings you need to get rid of them. I do not have the money yet to do this, but I have several and the endo came within 3 years after getting them. There are a lot of articles online that focus on how the mercury throws a lot of things out of wack in the body and can be the environmental factor that triggers a lot of diseases. I plan on doing this ASAP and the MSM also helps to detox the heavy metals, that is why I am slowly building on the MSM, to not get too many toxins at once. I read that sweating helps to release the mercury through the skin after the MSM releases the toxins from the fat and such. So exercising or using a sauna or something will help to sweat out the toxins. Hope this helps. Endo was very hard to accept for me and I know when I go to a restaurant or a party it is hard to avoid the temptation of foods with soy or wheat, so I eat before going to these things. Restaurants sometimes have allergy lists that you can ask for to find out which foods don't have soy or wheat in them. Look at the ingredients list on everything. Soy hides everywhere. If you need support with this please email. Figuring this out alone has been hard so I get it and am willing to help others.

I'd like to add my qualified 'yea' to this method. Eating Jalfrezi Curry which contains these two ingredients makes me feel much better, for a little while. When I'm suffering pain from a cyst it's hard to find foods that won't increase my discomfort, so it's nice to know there's a food that will ease it a bit.

I've got endometriosis which has blocked both my tubes.

I've been trying bee pollen, royal jelly, and bee propolis. I mixed these with honey and take one tablespoon first thing in the morning and one before going to bed. I have been off wheat for 2 weeks now and feel a lot better in regards to my endometriosis. I actually feel GOOD after eating a meal now rather than tired. I tried for years to just cut out refined wheat but after reading about the wheat-endometriosis connection I decided to try it for 2 weeks, I'm off it for good now. I am also going through acupuncture treatments for my endo. This helps tremendously with my energy levels and pain. I truly feel like my body is gaining better balance to heal itself through these two therapies. Hopefully by next year I'll be pregnant, or at least endo-free!

Hello Kanena,

I can answer a couple of those questions. First off niacin is one of the many B complex vitamins which stimulates the circulation which causes the tingling, itching & flushing some people mistake for an allergic reaction. Niacinamide is another form of niacin that does not cause the flushing. My recommendation is to stick with the niacin and let your body adjust to the flushing, but also stay away from the time release niacin. I am finding it harder to find niacin which is not time release, but I keep looking until I find it.

On the magnesium supplement, take one or the other but not several different forms of magnesium. Another form of magnesium that works well and is easily found is magnesium sulfate which is sold under the name of Epsom salts and can be found in most drug stores, grocery stores, & department stores. The nice thing about magnesium is that when you get too much it lets you know by causing diarrhea.

One way some people cope with taking all the supplements during the day is to get a good multivitamin/mineral supplement that contains all those that you want and then take 1 twice a day. You are not likely to harm yourself because you are not going to much above the RDA of each, if above at all. Remember the RDA is the minimum recommended to prevent clinical symptoms of deficiency, and in many cases much lower than needed for optimum health. I think the RDA for Vitamin C is either 250 or may have been raised to 500mgm per day. Linus Pauling recommended 6 to 8 grams (6000 to 8000mgm) of both l-lysine and vitamin C daily to keep our cardiovascular systems healthy. As you can see there is a vast difference between the RDA (minimum required) and the maximum recommended for optimum health. If you research the niacin, you will find that it also has a lot to do with our cardiovascular system, including lowering the cholesterol.

You need to eliminate ALL wheat. Its in everything, so it will be pretty hard to do for the first few months, but you will feel better. I eliminated wheat, rye, corn and oats. Wheat is the main one to get rid of. But i developed an allergy to corn, so i went on a body detox. And never felt better. Now i can eat corn, oats and rye again, but NO wheat ever again. The pain was to much, to many hospital visits, to many surgeries. Wheat isnt worth it!

I've purchased most of the supplements/vitamins recommended for the reduction of cysts & for treating endometriosis, however have run into a view obstacles. i just need clarification on a few matters.

my first question is on alkalization. if i have a water ionizer which produces alkaline water at selected ph levels, could that be used instead of the baking soda & water combination or in conjunction with it?

i also noticed that among the list of supplements are magnesium & magnesium citrate or magnesium chloride. does this mean that both magnesium & citrate or chloride needs to be taken? would it be enough to take the magnesium citrate or chloride?

how about niacin? is it the same as niacinamide or is it a form of niacinamide?

I'm somewhat of a novice at this so i'm trying to educate myself in this whole process, which at times can be a bit overwhelming.

i've had little or no success in finding a couple of things on the list, such as tungsten, disodium edta, molybdenum & molybdenum. any suggestions on where to look for them?

last question - any suggestion on how to take all of these in a day without upsetting your system.

please respond in a timely fashion, as time is of the essence for me.

mahalo for your cooperation

Editor's Choice

In August 2008, I was diagnosed with endometriosis after I was awakened at 3:00 A.M with very severe abdominal pain. Two weeks and three tests later, while still in pain my doctor told me 'when' the pain becomes severe for 'most of the month' and is 'unbearable' there were surgical options. At this time although I was still in pain all the time, the pain was much duller but it never went away. I tried ACV w/Baking Soda (2 Tbs. ACV w/ 1/4 tsp baking soda) mixed with a tall glass of water every morning and evening. After the 1st dose, the pain lessened in a matter of hours (after being constant for 3 weeks!). I started this regime on a Saturday, by Monday I was at work pain-free. I have had no problems at all since then. I did stop taking it for a month or so, but whenever I felt a 'pinch' or 'twitch' right around the time of my cycle, I'd start it back up. Now, I take two glasses every day to help with my fibroid, I'll never stop taking it again AND my cycles are not only regular, but pain-free also. BTW.. lost a few pounds too... a bonus!

Endometriosis: A remedy that will actually stop the swelling in your stomach, and make the pain dull so much you can barely tell you have it. And help your chances of getting pregnant. Simple, don't eat wheat. Wheat makes endometriosis in your stomach swell. There is a hormone in there. Don't eat it, feel great. Don't believe me, look it up. There has been a lot of research on it now. 95% of people with endometriosis are irritated by wheat. It worked for me. My doctor said when i had surgery a few years ago, i would never have kids, and i had over 40 endometriosis "seeds" in my stomach. He opened me up a few months ago. NOTHING. And i was no longer in pain. I also add a lot of ginger to my food. If your tummy hurts, get a towel, soak it in ginger, and put it against your stomach. The ginger helps. dull the pain for a little bit anyways.
