First time I found the site and am very glad I did! The ACV worked like a charm. I had tried charcoal, Immodium, diet and fiber. NG. But the ACV finally calmed down my GI tract. Whew!

I've had explosive diarrhea for the last 4 days. Was going potty every 20-40 minutes all day. Could hardly sleep because I was up every hour to go to the restroom. After google led me to this site, I was excited to try the ACV - and it worked! I took 4 T in 1/2 cup of warm water, added honey to taste. It was a little nasty, but drinkable. I slept through the night last night! Had a couple more bathroom trips this morning until I drank more ACV, and have been diarrhea free for the last 5 hours!!!! It works, thank goodness!

Eating an apple has always helped my family get rid of diarrhea. It helps your body begin to have tighter stools. We used to have a 'body ailments' chart that listed foods as remedies, and that was one of them.

After reading how well Turmeric works on diarrhea from this site, I decided to use it. I have food allergies to garlic, and have found that only turmeric will stop the diarrhea reaction that I have.

I have also used it when I've eaten something bad (one night both hubby and I had steak that wasn't quite right, developed diarrhea early the next morning, took Turmeric and within 30 mins both of us were able to continue on our day) I mix between 1/2 to 1 tsp with very hot water, and let the turmeric sink to the bottom. I then drink the orange coloured water that remains, and have yet to have had this remedy NOT work. It's definitely on my list of go to remedies for intestinal ailments!!

Earthclinic has become my go to source for when I'm not feeling well!! Thanks!

I had eaten a bunch of raw celery a week ago and have had diarrhea ever since. I have IBS, and wasn't sure if it was IBS related, or some kind of bacteria thing. Yesterday morning it was horrendously bad and I was getting very dehydrated, so I had an electrolyte drink and came here to look for rememdies. I tried the turmeric, 1 teaspoon in a cup of herbal tea, and I kid you not, my stomach felt better within the first minute of drinking it, and then I was completely FINE the rest of the day. I took another dose this morning for insurance, and have been great all day. Thanks - Earthclinic to the rescue!!!

Worked for me too some while back. I took 1/2 teaspoon at 1/2 hour interval. Than prepared long grain rice leaving it a bit watery and adding a pinch of salt and pinch molasses. After any bout with diarrhea I always eat foods that are neutral that goes easy on the stomach, anything that has a bit of starch/carbs.

I have had Diarrhea almost EVERY DAY for 6 weeks! The past week it had gotten so bad that I went to the ER twice for dehydration. I couldn't stop the diarrhea. The last bout was 12 times in one day...that landed me in the ER. They were of no help on how to stop it so I did some research. (What the heck took me so long???) I tried the ACV remedy yesterday and NO MORE DIARRHEA!!! It works beautifully!!!

Sesame Seeds

I love this site where I have found many alternative cures. For diarrhea, I toast in a pan, at low heat, two tablespoons of sesame seeds, when they are lightly toasted, I add a cup of water to the seeds, let them boil for three minutes, and then let them cool. Then I put through a strainer and drink the liquid. It helps without fail to stop the diarrhea. But, if you ate something bad, let the stomach clean itself for a day, then take the sesame seeds tea. Hope it helps.

I ate something that my body didn't like and immediately got diarrhea that lasted for two weeks. I tried many other suggestions on here that didn't work including 2 Tbs ACV, even though it has worked before, but eating one radish stopped it!!!! I read that the radish is a super food and good for digestion It has so many other benefits too. It was my miracle cure! Look it up!

Parasite Cleanse for Chronic Diarrhea

In December of 2012 I suddenly began having watery, explosive diarrhea up to 30 times a day! I couldn't work, as I drive for a living. I tried almost every remedy on this site and others. The first thing my doctor did, at my request, was order a parasite test. It came back negative (which was not accurate). As the months went by and I kept losing weight, the doctor eventually had me tested for hyperthyroid. I developed extreme, forceful rapid heartbeat, anytime I ate. I would actually see the undigested food I ate in the toliet, it went through me within an hour or 2. I was then diagnosed with hyperthyroid and began seeing an endocronoligist and taking prescribed medication. After the second day on medication, something within myself said to at least try a parasite cleanse. By this time I had been off work 8 months and had lost 30 lbs. I looked like I was dying and I was actually starving to death because everything went through me so quickly. I purchased a good quality 28 day parasite cleanse and from the very first dose, something just felt different within me. By the third or fourth day, I started seeing these weird parasites in the toliet. Day after day, hundreds. Not worms, but weird bug like things called cryptosporidium. By the time the 28 day cleanse was over, I no longer had diarrhea! I went back to work, and now, a year later that nightmare is just a distant memory. I got to thinking about it later that testing for parasites is probably often not accurate because if they came out in your stool you wouldn't have parasites! A real DUH moment for me.

Absolute YEA.

I was taking the dreaded antibiotic, Clindamycin, which is legendary in it's reputation for not only horrible diarrhea, but also C. Diff as well. Anyway, I was starving becuase I basically crapped everything out all night. And, I decided to instead add 2 tablespoons of turmeric to my meal. Meal being: fried fish, collard greens, and mac and cheese... yup soul food..lol.

Ok, so I eat my meal with the turmeric added and voila! Like magic no diarrhea. And, most of all, the food tasted even better with it!

Also, for people who are having trouble drinking water with turmeric due to taste, you can also try making a wonderfully smooth and tasty turmeric drink using Almond Milk. Warm up your almond mik a little bit in the microwave first, then add 1 tablespoon of turmeric after you warmed the milk and umm hmm good! Tasty and no more diarrhea!

God Bless Earth Clinic!

It is true you are not supposed to take this medicine within a few hours of taking other medicines. I too have seizures and I make sure to take charcoal many hours before I take other medicines.

I heard there was a bit of a stomach flu going around among some friends who were stuck home with diarrhea and pains. Eventually I got the telltale head congestion and mucus running going on, and felt some sharp abdominal pains and rumbling sounds, so I could tell I caught the stomach bug myself!

I acted pre-emptively before any diarrhea started, and had about 2 tbsp. Straight ACV washed down with some water. The stomach pains and sounds stopped within 20 minutes. I haven't had any diarrhea at all, and I've been drinking fluids here and there and eating light, natural foods. So far, so good!

I have never experienced such a bad diarrhea until today.. I ate a double cheeseburger at McDon.. And I think I had food poisoning. I literally went to the bathroom every 30 min or so. I was searching online for cures for diarrhea and I found this website. After reading all the comments, to make sure no one experienced anything bad, I told my mom to go buy me Apple Cider Vinegar. I diluted 3 teaspoons of ACV into a cup of water and I drank it. After 10-20 min, my stomach hurt less and it's been 2 hours since I haven't had any bowel movements. Also, I think what helped was the fact that I ate rice and I drank peppermint tea with no sugar. But ACV definitely played the biggest part.

Aloe Vera

At the first sign of gastro-intestinal upset take 1/3 cup of aloe vera juice. Relieves diarrhea and associated cramping within 15 minutes. Better than Kaopectate or Immodium AD. It can be purchased in the Health Food section of most grocery stores. The taste is not horrible but not great either. For children the aloe vera juice can be added to orange or apple juice to disguise the taste. I have been using this remedy since 1991 and swear by it.

Turmeric for Diarrhea

Of the 2 methods recommended, I chose turmeric. This worked for me! I had 'rhea for 3 days and couldn't figure out if it was something I ate or what because otherwise I felt normal. I measured 1/8 tsp into hot water and drank as a "tea." After much rumbling and grumbling and such going on in my tummy, it settled right down. That was yesterday evening and today I am back to normal.
