Vibration for Sinus Drainage

I discovered this by accident…washing my face in the shower with an oscillating face brush. I had a terrible sinus infection, nothing was helping. I tried almost all of the other things posted here…2 weeks flat on my back. So after running hot water over my face, used the face brush, and accidentally crushed the bristles so that the backer was against the corner of my nose and felt the urge to sneeze as it vibrated. Interesting. So I crushed the bristles under my cheekbones and just let it vibrate. Moved it around..a little at a time, letting it vibrate each time for maybe 30 seconds. Didn't realize it because I was already wet, but my nose started running. When I discovered it, I reached out of shower for a Kleenex, and blew….infection.

Oh my gosh it was finally moving. And my head no longer felt like it was ready to explode. So after that every few hours, I wrapped the bristles in a cloth so as not to scratch, and after heating my face with a warm rice pack, I would vibrate my sinus cavities. Every time I was able to blow out infection.

Now, I am still using the neti pot also with povidone iodine, Grapefruit seed extract and xylitol and now that is helping to rinse out mucous (hadn't touched it before). Still draining a few days later, but I am not coughing after sleeping where the drainage settles in my airway, and am feeling almost human again. Will be ordering a silicone face cleaner/massager that vibrates so the bristles wont be an issue.

I have tried almost everything, including pressure points and massage, cayenne pepper drinks, honey, cider vinegar, sage tea, peroxide, povidone iodine, GSE, xylitol in the neti pot, etc. with no success. I used to be able to forestall an infection if I used the neti pot as soon as I could feel one coming on, but that no longer stops an infection for me. I don't see a lot of research out there….wondering if I do this on a regular basis will it keep sinuses open?

I hope this helps someone out there..

Actually, I went back to just saline in neti pot after noting some other contributors saying some of the other additions can slow down the action of the cilia…so 5 days later I am still feeling much better and still getting mucous out after doing the Heat/Vibration/Blow/Neti pot routine. Each day has become less “infected” and more clear.

Vitamins C and B

Sinus infection

Yes, I have a burning nose problem too. I have been taking 3 Vitamin C pills and 3 Vitamin B100 pills daily. I always remember Jack LaLane, and he was surely right about advocating exercise and vitamins. Now I am experimenting with nasal lavage, and I found that cold solutions introduced into the nasal cavity can cause a bad reaction. I put my nose squirter in hot water to warm up the solution, and it seemed like it worked better, and less burning too!

White Grape Vinegar

Okay this all started about 2 years ago. I had a very painful sinus infection that eventually dried up and left pressure in my sinuses but after a while I hardly noticed it. Then After almost 2 years of being pain free it started again but this time it was different. It started & the pressure that was there went away but my sinuses won't stop draining. it's horrible. however, I found relief using white grape Vinegar. I put it in a sauce pan and boiled it (smell is awful)and then I inhale it through my nostrils. work's almost instantly. Burns a little but its re-leaving at the same time. Do it twice a day for the first 3 days and once a day aftawards and you should be okay.

I just don't like doing it after day 2 but I think If I keep at it I could be looking at a total cure if I could just stick to the regiment.

Also: swallowing a shallow capfull instantly relieves any throat pains.

I think the biggest problem for me is inhaling when my nose for the most part is clear by day 3 since this stuff smells so bad. But I must say after day 2 I had no sinus problems until day 3 late at night. then i did it again and the next day I was cured for two days.

now its back but nothing like before. I think if I sniff this disgusting smelling stuff maybe 4 more times in a row (once in the morning and again at night before bed for the next two days) I could be looking at a cure.

Xlear Nasal Spray

Use Xlear. It works. It is a premixed combination of xylitol and grapefruit seed extract. If you have dogs, never cuddle them after using it because xylitol, while safe for humans, is toxic to dogs. It may take a few days, but it will work. Start three times a day then do once a day after you are healed.

Xylitol and Sea Salt Rinse

I thought I would share some very good information and my experience regarding sinus infections or sinusitis.

I had been diagnosed with severe sinusitis after I had an MRI for something else. I've tried many things over the years and had suffered constant congestion/swelling and loss of taste and smell.

The neti pot was helping with salt, but I discovered some huge results after much research. Using DISTILLED water, not spring water in the neti pot with a half teaspoon of all natural sea salt and a half tablespoon of Xylitol. Both disolved in warm distilled water. Spring water can irritate the sinus membranes. Xylitol has been proven to kill and fight bacteria and really helps flush out mucus!

After flushing my sinuses with this sea salt/Xylitol neti pot mix, I then drink a glass of my favorite juice with my Spirulina Powder that has CHLOROPHYLL. Chlorophyll also is great for killing bacteria in the sinuses. As soon as I drink a glass of this, my sense of taste and smell come back within a half hour at 100%!

The powder I have been using is expensive and I don't feel everyone has to buy this exact brand, only the ingredients are important. The brand I've tried is contains: Spirulina Powder, Beta-Carotene, B-1, B-2, B-12, Calcium, Iron, Gamma Linolenic Acid and Chlorophyll.

If I do those two things as much as possible, I never have infections. There is also a saline/Xylitol spray. Anyone with sinusitis or chronic issues should really try these two things!
