I have been a loyal follower of ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) for 15 years or so. It is remarkably effective. I won't be without it at home! Even my once doubting husband became a believer. It's the best natural remedy going. Take 2 tsp in a glass of water (i just pour 2 capfuls). If you can't hold anything down the best way to take it is by the spoonful. Just keep sipping a spoonful every 3-5 minutes, or as often as you can handle, and it will stay down. Very quickly it will take effect. Usually in 30-60 minutes it will stop the vomitting by killing the bacteria, which causes such sickness.

A few days ago, I came down with a mild case of food poisoning- nauseous, sweaty, crampy and bad diarrhea. It had been going on for several days, forcing me to largely sit out my boyfriend's birthday dinner. I experienced no relief from Pepto, and was becoming incredibly dehydrated because of the bad heat wave going on right now.
Eventually, I remembered Earth Clinic (which I first used when looking up natural asthma remedies- go MSM! ). Anyhow, found an overwhelming positive response to ACV, so decided to get some (with the mother). Took 4 tbsp in a big glass of water. Although relief was not immediate, within an hour, the cramps were largely gone. By the next morning, although not 100% still, my symptoms had pretty much subsided- enough for me to eat something for the first time in days. Today I'm sipping on an ACV/water mix, continuing to feel better, and hoping I'll be well enough to maybe hit the pool this weekend after all. Thanks Earth Clinic for this simple, wonderful remedy!

ACV works great for food poisoning, but it can also be taken with water BEFORE you eat. This will help acid reflux, digestion, and help prevent food poisoning.

I had terrible food poisoning all night and after calling every doctor in town with no chance of getting in anywhere (apparently food poisoning isn't that big of an ailment here! ) I turned to the internet in hopes of finding something I could use that was in my house. I swallowed two undiluted tablespoons of ACV and followed with some water. Almost immediately I felt relieved, but about 10 minutes later I threw it all up (throwing up acid is terrible). I feel better, but it didn't cure me.

A miracle! My husband was sooo sick last night after food poisoning. He threw up 5 times and was miserable. I searched the web and found this site. I gave him ACV (which he said tasted horrible) but was immediately (within 15 min) feeling much better and slept through the rest of the night. Thanks! Amazing!

Thank you everyone! Apple Cider Vineagar is a miracle remedy. I had a salad and within an hour I was vomitting. I took the apple cider vinegar about ten minutes after the episode and I feel so much better, as if I can return back to normal life. This is amazing.

Hi everybody,
I've been sick since late saturday evening. Diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, the whole shabang. Called my Dr. to see what we could do about the pain. I just had a baby less than 2mos ago, and kinda experienced some of these symptoms, needless to say I was EXTREMLY nervous. Anyway I just came across this site (tues), and was happy to see a home remedy to cure this. I rushed in the kitchen and started searching throught the cabnits, I knew I had some.
As im writing this post im feeling 85% better (only been 3 mins). I mixed 2 Tbsp of ACV with half a cup of juice to help the taste. Im so happy to have found this site 2.5 days is too long to be feeling like this. Im actually starting to feel 95% better. Gonna take some more ACV in a couple of hours.
Thanks a lot for everyones post, im so glad for the internet and reputable site.

ACV is amazing. I came home from work one day and ate a ham and turkey sandwich. About an hour later i started to get really sick. I had not had any type of food sickness before so I wasn't exactly sure what was going on with me. I developed a bad fever and was getty dizzy, not to mention the stomach cramps. I do not like throwing up so I tried to hold it off for as long as I could. It was coming whethere I liked it or not. I felt o.k. after the first throw up but still felt very weak and still had a fever. I went online to see about remedies for food sickness. This site was the first one to come up. I took 1 big gulp from ACV along with some orange juice( not sure if orange juice is the best to use). I still felt some of the pains from the illness, but i did not throw up one more time. I woke up this morning a totally different person. The stomach is a bit sore from the cramping but nothing i can complain about. The fever is gone also. Thanks to all the people who posted about their experiences, it helped out immensely.

Another confirmation of ACV for food poisoning. My mother rapidly started to come down with what seemed like food poisoning after eating some spoiled curry chicken. Since EarthClinic has been a reliable source of home cures, I checked it at once and then promptly gave her 2 tbsp. of ACV in a cup of store-bought juice. I also added the juice from half of a lime, since this helped me with stomach upset in the past. Within a few minutes of drinking it, she had stopped moaning in pain, and within 15 mins. was noticeably better. Now, half an hour later and she is practically back to normal.
I have had food poisoning a few times myself and know that it is terrible and often lasts for several gruelling hours. I am quite happy to spare my mom that experience.
Thank you EarthClinic and all the posters here!

Last night I started showing the signs of food poisoning (mild)- about 6 hours after eating I got cramps and nausea. I've had this happen before and it usually means I'm in for a long night of sitting in the bathroom where I can't quite throw up, even though I want to. Miserable.
I've come to this site before and found the apple cider vinegar cure for my sinus allergies (it works!), so I was happy to read that it can also help food poisoning. I drank 1 tbsp. ACV with a little bit of fruit punch (basic kind from Whole Foods). Then I just got in bed and waited it out. In about 5-10 I was feeling much better. Wow! I love it when something natural really does the trick. I also drank water before going to bed, to keep hydrated. Thanks everyone for the tip!

I have a really bad case of food poisening from tuna going on 1week. I tryed drinking the acv but it gave me diarria just when it had started to go away. I had really bad stomach ache and drinking the acv didn't help so I poured some of it directly on my stomach I used a towel not to get it on the bedding. Believe it or not that calmed my stomach down and took away my pain. So for those who can't drink the stuff just use it externally. It really works. Good luck.

My grandma just contracted food poisioning and she is 92 and unable to drink the Apple Cider Vinegar (which we all swear by) so instead I went to the health food store and purchased the ACV capsules, I just thought that this would help anyone that is disgusted by the flavor or smell...since it is in a powdered form inside of a capsule.

I've been up since 2 am...it's now 5!...just plastered to the toilet, must have been the chicken I had for lunch. This is all very new for me, I've never had food poisoning...but this has got to be it. I have had the worse diarrhea and cramps.. oh the cramps.. you've got to be kidding me! and I cannot miss my class in the morning, so i've been curled in a ball going back and forth to the bathroom, when i jumped online to see if there was anything I could do, and i found the acv suggestion. I crawled downstairs and took 2 tbs w/ in about 5 min of eachother..in about 30 min the cramps started to ease up, my stomach is still queasy, but i can handle that, it was the gut wrenching cramps, oh thank you for the tip! Seriously...thanks!

No it won't hurt her it stop throwing up, just make her feel better. The only time it's dangerous to stop vomiting is in cases where it's caused by alcohol or a chemical poisoning. However, with food poisoning due to a bacteria or virus, the infection has already been established and the immune system will just have to fight it off. Throwing up doesn't get rid of it, it's just a symptom due to irritation in the stomach. I hope your daughter is doing better!
