I dont know if this is true about Apple Cider Vinegar but I just drank 2 tablespoons of it in water after having food poisoning since yesterday. The cramps are the worst I have ever had in my life ( and I have had bad ones). After drinking it my cramps seem to have calmed a bit but still feel the pain somewhat in my stomach. Hope this works and thank you for all the info on this site. It is so useful!

Apple cider vinegar works. I had a severe case of food poison lasting 2 1/2 weeks. Severe stomach pain, fever, chills, body aches severe diarrhea and I went to a medical doctor and a digestive disease specialist both confirming food poison one prescribed high dose of antibiotics the other saying to stop antibiotics and let it run its course. After 2 weeks of on and off illness I decided to try the apple cider vinegar by taking 2 tbsp straight undiluted . Later on I had a horrible bowel movement but I felt like it was the bacteria coming out. The next day I took another dose but diluted with warm water and honey. And the sickness disappeared!!

Does it have to be organic apple cider vinegar??
EC: Hi Tami,
From our experience over the years, any kind of ACV works very well for food poisoning and does NOT have to be organic.

Yes, apple cider vinegar helps ease the stomach. At first, when I searched for food poisoning remedies on earth clinic and I read ACV as the top remedy, I thought, "no way! " How could an ACID help your stomach?! But, it does. I mixed 2 tablespoons in water, and just a few minutes later the cramping, bloating and nausea slowly disappeared. Give it a try! You have nothing to lose!

Lisa;
So sorry about your food poisoning! I've had a few bouts also and many stomach / intestinal infections. ACV has worked ... oh, 95 percent of the time. May I ask... how did you take it? I have a friend that takes it Straight! If I did that, I'd convulse for sure. I put a tablespoon in a glass of water and drink and usually add a third teaspoon of baking soda to the ACV. I think that makes for a better stomach healer.

Not so, food poisionomg last many days, depending on the strain of bacteria and the physical condition of the sufferer.

Ensure your food is cooked.
So there I was made some AHI Tuna first time and had it marinating for two days in the fridge or it in the grill for 2 1/2 minutes on each side and then after I ate some of it not even an hour later it hit me like brick. I started looking online for symptoms and found this site still going through the motions, instead of 2-3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar I took it like Will Smith did on Hitched saying come on work already.

Last night I came down with a horrendous case of food poisoning. Your suggestion to use apple cider vinegar saved me. I wish I had seen it earlier. I'm still down and achy with diarrhea, but the vomiting has stopped. All night those two things happened simultaneously every time ugh Thank you for your site.

Wow! Woke up with stomach cramps. 3 hours later discovered the apple cider suggestion. Drank about 2-3 oz diluted by about 6oz of water (Diluted until it was just tolerable to drink). Within 10 minutes cramps were gone and was able to sleep. Woke up feel pretty good, just a little tightness, or more accurately stomach muscle fatigue from all the cramping. Great home remedy! Makes complete sense when you think about it!

Vinegar has helped so many. I thank you, Gary.
Just want to mention to those who might also dose their fellow animals with ACV -- be careful to alkalize the little ones'mouths afterwards as the vinegar remaining in their mouths will soften/rot their teeth. Myself, I would add baking soda to the vinegar until the mix quit fizzing; then dose with that.
That said, perhaps the best way to supply adjuncts to a critter's diet is to add a bit to their drinking water.

I had food poisoning symptoms for roughly 48 hours (initial nausea, diarrhea) and while it was not getting worse, it was not getting better. I finally stumbled on this website, took 2 tablespoon of organic ACV w honey and am starting to feel the tide turn already (2 hours later). I will update to the extent this trajectory changes, but thank you SO much all for the tip...I was starting to go a bit nutty!

I've just taken my second dose of apple cider vinegar for food poisoning in an hour and I don't mind telling u that I wish I found this site 12 hours ago. If this don't work for u just go to this hospital because nothing will.. First time trying it and so far it's a 9 out of 10. The only way it would be a 10 out of 10 is if it could uncancel my birthday party that should have occurred last night but I was too ill.. I'm just glad the nausea has stopped and the gagging is over. It works.

ACV worked! Both my boyfriend and I got food poisoning, my lymph glands were very swollen so I started the apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons 3 times a day. Not only did it help the swollen glands my stomach issues and all that comes with food poisoning went away as well. Now the boyfriend 3 days later has just given in and said I'll try anything give me some, as he never would try it before. Maybe now he will believe!

It worked! My husband came back from a dinner at a friend's house and arriving after 40 min at home started with stomach pains, then he threw up, however at first we thought it was because of the too many martinis. Anyway, in the middle of the night he got up vomiting again and also had diarrhea and stomach cramping. I thought oh oh this is looking like food poisoning, he got up couple more times vomiting and in the morning still cramping and vomiting.
I went to look for natural remedies on my favorite site Earth Clinic and found that the same remedy I am taking for my sinus was good for food poisoning.... And maybe that is why he got sick and I did not despite eating same food. the minute he wasn't throwing up I gave him 2 TBSP ACV in 1/2 cup warm water, added 1 TSP manuka honey for better tasting, he took 1/2 and then shortly after he threw up again, but even like that cramping subsided inmediately. I made him drink the other half and he kept it down and he felt so much better almost inmediately and felt asleep like a baby. Thank you earth clinic and all of you who have contributed with their experiences, thank you!!!

I ate just one Taco Bell burrito on Sunday evening and was driving home when my tummy began making noises and cramping about half hour later. I had another hour to go so I prayed and kept going (a little faster than speed limit), and kept myself occupied talking with my grandchild. I literally had to run into my home when we arrived feeling like I was going to collapse and puke or worse. Immediately I took 2 tbsp AVC in 1/2 glass water. The diarrhea-cramping and nausea lasted five days but I tool ACV with raw honey every morning and afternoon in water and now all symptoms are gone. I ate a hearty dinner last night and am good to go. I have used ACV and charcoal on a previous occasion of deliberate food poisoning by someone from my-in laws. I was given this remedy by a 93 year old American lady at that time in 1993. One must be diligent to take it like medicine and see the amazing results. I keep a gallon of ACV in my kitchen at all times. Organic ACV with Mother works best!

I can assure you that water and vinegar are excellent at knocking out food poisoning, one of the fastest remedies around. I use 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup apple vinegar (usually stronger than most) if available or any vinegar if not. The ascetic acid in the vinegar kills the pathogens that are making you sick in a very short time period, faster than antibiotics for me. Usually witin 2 hrs you are good to go. I always use vinegar and oil on salads when traveling in developing nations, and eat the salad last so the vingar has time to penetrate the lettuce and veges and it will knock out Ecoli, Salmonella, etc., within 20 min and you will not get sick.

I love my ACV. I started using it for my menstrual migraines which were usually twice a month- very short episodes of aura followed by a couple hour long medium sized headache. Occasionally, I would get a real bad one, or one from the weather. About two months ago, they had evolved to week long episodes of migraines with aura. Anyway, I saw the ACV cure, and started taking the ACV every day, and if I felt one coming on. I just keep mine cold, and take a couple of spoonfuls of it when I need to. I like the taste, so, straight works fine for me.
Anyway, I had a gall bladder attack a couple weeks ago, and took a couple spoons. Ten minutes, pain gone. Then I had a really gassy day- took a couple spoons- gas gone in ten minutes. I'm loving it, right?
Well, today I went to Subway and got a Spicy Italian sub. Ate it at 2, and by 6 I'm suffering from a case of screaming runs. Stomach was cramping, bloated with gas, nausea but no vomiting. I'm miserable. Thank god for phone games is all I have to say. I sat there for about an hour. Anyway, I decide to take some ACV. Two spoonfuls, the runs slowed then stopped. Couple hours later, I'm still feeling bloated and gassy so I take two more- now my belly no longer feels swollen like it's gonna pop and the gas and cramps are gone. This is the second time I have gotten sick from Subway- first time was about six years ago, and it was ten times as bad as this. Anyway, not the point. There is lots of conflicting info about the ACV- but all I can tell you is that
1) Migraines are significantly reduced- and one started the other day and I took some ACV and it aborted.
2) Worked for the gallbladder attack.
3) Worked for gas and food poisoning. It may not work for everyone, but for me, all I can say is I will never ever ever not have a couple of bottles in the house. Oh- additionally- I have used both the ACV with and without the mother, and have not noticed a difference in what kind I use.

The last time I had an upset stomach and couldn't take the nausea anymore, I swallowed a mouthful of organic vinegar and within 15 minutes I didn't feel sick anymore. Hate the taste, love the results.

Hi, I just came back from India where I ate whatever I decided. I had TWO food poisoning back to back. The second one gave me a worst ever diarrhea, the first one was bearable. After coming back from the trip I found earth clinic on the net, and gave a try to apple cider vinegar asap. I was cured almost immediately, after drinking a glass of water with half vinegar in it, I never had the symptoms again. Thank you for the help.
Regards, Charlie

Anytime I feel the stomach flu coming on or just feeling nauseas I take a shot of Organic ACV in water and whatever was coming on goes away. My husband got food poisoning from a bad turkey and when I felt it coming on I took the vinegar; he got very ill but I only had a minor stomachache. I have no idea if other vinegars will work as I have only used the organic ACV; it only costs about 5.00 for 32 oz. so well worth having it on hand forever.
