Salt Solution or Warm Water

Posted by Milroc (Ny) on 10/21/2017

I couldn't believe it. My son sometimes had some earache because of congestion-cold. My son had his first earache in december 31 of 2014. I went to the pediatrician, they gave me amoxillicin, which it still on my fridge, I never used it. We used salt water, a safer solution according to my hubby, you put some salt with water in a dropper, 2 drops that you leave for 10 seconds. It worked fine, I don't remember all the details sorry, I know that I was surprised by the results. The child slept well. With years, and after another episode of earache, I started to read on this site about warm olive oil, and asking myself if it wasn't the warmth that act. So, I heated the dropper, so it was warm salt water (I didn't use olive oil). This one was quick. The pain was gone after 10-15 seconds.

I read on this site somewhere (or on another site), that earache can be because of pressure, and you need to hear a noise. So when I put the warm-salt water on my son ear, I'm asking him, if he hear 'tac-tac' and he hears this noise. I can't explain the organ or whatever process, maybe his ear opens. I have no idea.

This week, he has some ear infection, 3 times, he is a little congested too. He came from school with a an earache. I started to give him the first time, warm-salt water, it works quickly fine. But what is suprising, is once I forgot to put the salt. I heat the water, and use the dropper. As usual, he hear 'tac-tac...tac' on his ear, after less than one minute he is fine. If your child doesn't feel better, add 2 more drops. Don't forget to remove the excess of water with some paper, by tilting the head of the child. I'm so pissed off by the medical community. Warm water, and that works, you can add water to kill germs too. Try it, it's quick, take maximum 1 minute. And give your child a role to tell you if he hears a noise, he will be happy to help. I think that earache due to wax build-up won't be better with this method, it's only my guess. My son has an earache when he has a cold-congestion.

This site after my bible site is my favorite site on all the internet since 2011.

I mean, you can add some salt to kill germs, so either warm salt water or warm water too. Same results. You can use the warm water directly from faucet.

Sea Salt Sock for Earache

Salt Sock for Earache

My GF has been suffering from ear issues for a few days now so I suggested she put 1 cup fine sea salt in a thin cotton sock and place it over her ear for a few hours. She place the salt sock over her ear for 5 hours. When she woke up this morning she said the throbbing pain in her ear was gone.

Why this works? I am assuming it's because salt acts like a desiccant and dries out the ear. During an ear infection, congestion in the ear creates more problems and a breeding ground for micro-organism's causing the ear infection. Salt is also antimicrobial.

How to make it:

* 100% thin white cotton footie sock

* cloth string or thick rubber-band to secure the end of the sock so the salt does not fall out

* 1 cup fine sea salt

Directions:

Pour the sea salt into the sock and tie a knot at the end. Heat in a clean, dry
skillet, over medium-low heat for about 4-6 minutes. To heat the sock evenly, shake it around, and flip every 30-60 seconds. Heat until very warm, but not
burning to the touch—you don't want to burn your patient! Test on your hand before applying to the ear. Place the warm salt sock over the ear, and the area behind your jaw bone and relax.

*Important: Only use a white sock as dyed threads may melt when heated. Do not substitute regular table salt for the sea salt. Never microwave the salt sock.

Note: If you don't have a 100% white cotton sock like I do, I just us one of my GF black footies socks which is a synthetic blend. Fill it with sea salt. Secure the end with a rubber band. Place it over my ear and then place a hot water bottle over that for the heat. It works fine.

Sea Salt Solution

I've had a recurring ear infection (it's left a constant ringing sound), and have tried a number of oils, garlic, clove etc, and nothing has worked. This afternoon I put in some drops of sea salt solution - the right ear was fine, but after rinsing the left one, I couldn't walk straight. I was all off balance like I'd been drinking, and I felt quite nauseous. I'm worried now. Can anyone explain what may have happened? Thanks.

It's called vertigo, any time you put something in your ear this will happen. It is fine and won't hurt you, you just have to wait it out and LAY DOWN! You aren't supposed to get up and start walking around, when the room is spinning, you're gonna want to throw up! Hope this helps

Sinus Wash

My ears were plugged solid due to a head cold. I happened to watch 'Oprah' that day and saw a Dr using a 'sinus wash' to clear out sinus. He used a 'nose biday (sp?)' with warm salt water. I found in my house a sippy cup with a straw attatched. Stand over the sing. Tip your head sideways and pour the warm mixture in & up that nostril...until it starts coming out the other nostril. I found it helpful to push the back of my tongue up against the back of my throat so it wouldn't come down my throat. When the mixture starts coming out of the opposite nostil, stop. Do the other side. The blow the hell out of your nose. IT WORKS! OMG I was so happy to HEAR again after a week!!

WARNING!

I'm all for Neti pots for sinus irrigation however be very careful not to blow too hard as this is what caused my latest earache. In fact always keep this in mind when having any sinus congestion. The pressure of holding your nose and blowing pushes up the mucus into the ear canal. Remember blow gently, don't honk your brains out.

Sodium Chlorite

Sodium Chlorite for Earaches

I had an earache the day before yesterday and looked on Earth Clinic to see what I could do. I tried peroxide on a cue tip which seemed in the immediate to increase my pain. Then I tried a warmed moist towel which helped ease the pain down a bit.

I realized I was going to have to kill off this infection else resort to antibiotics which I wanted to avoid for various reasons. Then I remembered I had some Sodium Chlorite solution in which people use to combat virus' yeast, fungi, and bacteria. As suggested I had a while ago started with one drop in a glass of water and had built up to three drops. I started to increase my dosage more aggressively adding one drop for each glass I finished. I did this twice a day but I noticed by the next morning after increasing my dose my earache was gone. My sinus' were still stopped up but to this point my earache has not come back even though there is still mucus in the ear canal.

It is important to remember not to take the sodium chlorite alone but to squeeze in a fair amount of lemon or lime juice in with a full glass of water. I've been using a half a small lime for every glass and drink this twice a day. I'm up to seven drops and it is recommended you work your way up to 15 drops. I will continue this method until my sinus' clear and report back any changes.

This is an update to the previous post. As stated before the Sodium Chlorite got rid of my ear infection but not my sinus infection. After working up to over 10 drops per glass twice a day my sinus infection went away. It took some days to do this as you cannot go from zero drops to double digits overnight. If you did it might not be safe and in the least you'd experience loss bowels. Anyway for me, for this condition, Sodium Cholite is a definite yea.

Tried the mug thing, but instead of a hot wash cloth just put half a mug of boiling water, the steam from it is a miricle worker! The pain stopped instantly then just rested my head on a hot water bottle for awhile and my ear crackled for about ten mins but it 100% fine now!

A friend taught me this trick and it helps. Take two washcloths, wetting them both with warm to hot water. Then stick them in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Place a washcloth in the bottom of a coffee mug, then put a mug over each ear. The steam in the ear seems to help alot!

thank u so much! Just woke up with excrutiating earache and came online looking for something to help, did not fancy sticking ciggies or garlic in my ear an your suggestion seemed most sensible as when I was little and had earache my mum would always do me a hot water bottle to alleviate the pain. Within seconds of putting my ear over the mug I felt bubbles coming out of my ear and the pain subside. I am now happily going back to bed to finish my nights sleep before my 3 young children wake me up, I just wanted to say a huge thank you! And thank god for the internet! Lol.

I am not big on putting liquids in my ears (I've tried H2O2 with mixed results). However, I've found a simple way to unclog achey, stuffy ears...I STEAM THEM. Find a mug or cup that can withstand hot water and make sure that the mouth of the cup/mug fits around your ear without letting much air escape. Next, fold a small piece of paper towel until it can fit at the bottom of the cup/mug. Then pour steaming hot water into the cup/mug (just enough to cover and saturate the paper towel). Quickly pour the excess water out of the cup/mug and tilt your head to the side and place your ear in the cup. IF THE STEAM IS TOO HOT LIFT YOUR HEAD FROM THE CUP/MUG UNTIL IT FEELS COMFORTABLE, then lower your head back to the cup/mug. Stay that way for about a minute. You will instantly feel "popping" as the steam breaks up the gunk in your ear. Repeat with other ear by adding more hot water into the cup and pouring off excess. Repeat process throughout the day. After awhile you will be able to either irrigate our gentle scoop out yucky, waxy gunk that was causing the problem in the first place. I like to put a few drops of EUCALYPTUS oil in the cup, but experiment with Oregano oil, garlic, ACV, Tea tree oil to see what works best!

God Bless.

Hello all, I have suffered from sinus problem my whole life. This often leads to ear infections (several times a year, certain times almost constantly). This causes some discomfort and dizziness, which can lead to falls and makes it difficult to drive sometimes.

Well, my child recently had an ear infection, then a high fever, which lead to Roseola and Hand/Foot/Mouth disease. Needless to say, I am a bit overly cautious in protecting myself from communicable diseases. During this time I had been suffering from an ear infection as well, which at this point I have kind of learned to live with, since doctor antibiotics have not worked (makes worse usually), and most natural treatments have gave minimal results at best. My ears have been popping, discomfort, dizzy, and if you wiggle your scalp using your facial muscles, you head a clicking in your ears.

So, to help protect myself from the baby, I started taking "something-C" (available in most pharmacies, can't say the exact brand name). It is basically 1000 mg of Calcium Ascorbate. I have been taking two a day, one every 12 hours.

Also, I've been taking a Zinc/Copper/Iodine gel cap (zinc and copper are as "amino acid chelates", and iodine "as kelp"). Zinc content is 50 mg, Copper is 2 mg, and Iodine is 53 mcg. I have been taking two a day, one every 12 hours.

I am on no other drugs prescription or otherwise, and not taking any other vitamins or supplements at this time.

Like I said, I was taking these to up my immune system from "Typhoid Mary". But 24 hours in, I started noticing that my ears were not popping, dizziness and discomfort was minimal. Day 2 it was even better. Day 3 I forgot to take, feeling better, and by day 4 symptoms were back to a great degree. I started taking again day 5 and by day 6 they were back subsided. Day 7 and 8 have been like normal.

I believe, like anti-biotics, that this should be taken for a period of time to totally clear up, and that my lapse in memory on the one day caused my flair-up. I am thinking of continuing for a month, just to make sure.

I am unsure of this form of vitamin-c's role in the equation, since I have taken it and regular C before and did not notice an improvement. I postulate that it is either the Zinc or Copper, as both are anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal. Copper metal destroys these on contact by a currently unknown mechanism. The F. D. A. even approved its use in hospitals for these reasons.

If you have an allergy to Zinc or Copper, or disease where you can not take them, I am unaware if this would be safe for you in your particular circumstance.

But if you suffer from ear infections, I wanted to tell you what seems to be working for me that I have accidentally stumbled upon.

P.S. I have not been doing this currently, due to my experimentation, but usually, to help clean out my sinuses, I use a Neti pot, use the standard salt/baking soda solution, but I add less than 1 teaspoon of Xylitol and a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to it, sometimes a few drops of 500 ppm Colloidial Silver to it, when I have it on hand.

But, the trick I do is, using your jaw muscles, make your ears pop repeatedly as you are pouring the solution in each side. You will feel a cool sensation in each ear, this is the solution going in each Eustachian tube. This will help clean them out and coat them with the solution which helps kill off the bad things hiding in there. Just a trick I have learned I thought I would share.

Unfortuntely you can't get to the Eustachian tube through your ear. There is an eardrum blocking it. Only way is through your throat.

I think what he meant was that the liquid from the neti pot, on its travel from one nostril to the other, would (or could, depending on how it's done) pass by the entrance to the Eustachian tube, and some would go down that way. It would feel as though it's "in the ear", but it's in the middle ear. It then passes back out via the Eustachian tube into the throat. That's my approximate understanding of what's going on here.

I don't think it's all that easy to get fluid into the Eustachian tube using this method, but I believe it's possible.

Tea Tree Oil, Coconut Oil

I've been suffering with a recurring ear infection for 2 years now, had my 4th one most recently and in the past I've had to go to urgent care to get topical antibiotic ear drops to cure it. I'm out in CA for work and my insurance does not cover doctors here, and I know the garlic oil trick has never worked in the past. I came across tea tree oil being diluted in VIRGIN coconut oil as they are both, anti bacterial, anti viral and anti fungal trying to get ride of the infection. 3 days on this treatment and I can confidently say I am cured. I will keep taking the following dosage 15 drops of tea tree oil diluted in a tablespoon of coconut oil 3Xs a day for 7 days.

I saw results the first day and I was able to sleep without any pain in my ear. I'm so glad I don't have to keep going to urgent care for this, as this is a recurring problem since I produce too much wax in my ears and therefore end up getting frequent ear infections as a result.

Tiger Balm “Red”

I have chronic earaches.

I have learned that putting Tiger Balm on the outside of the ear canal with a Q-tip and on my neck just below the ear eases the pain and I don't need to take as much pain medication as I have in the past. I also put a warm, moist compress on the offending ear and go right back to sleep

Turpentine (Gum Resin) Oil for Ear-ache

Blend a spoon of clean turpentine with an equal amount of almond or olive oil and place a cotton ball squeezed in that mixture in your ear overnight. This would help alleviate the ear infection. From Article: The Sacred Heart Review, Volume 5, Number 6,3 January 1891

Deafness generally arises from deficient secretion of wax in the ear. The following remedy is in some cases useful:— Oil of turpentine, half a dram ; olive oil, two drams; mix, and insert a couple of drops in the ear at bed-time.

Urine for Earaches

I saw this page, and wondered why I didn't see this rememdy. Yes, most people I mention it to look at me like I'm crazy, and I understand that. And all I can say is that I've done this three or four times and it worked like a charm. The last time I had an ear ache, I peed in a cup and poured some in my ear, just as you would do with hydrogen peroxide. I laid on my side and let it sit for a few minutes. Within minutes, my ear ache was gone, and never returned. Like I said, I've only done this maybe four times over many years, but I would definetely do it again. I would think, of course, that if you are what you eat, and you eat terribly, then your urine may be toxic! Besides that, I may be a little crazy to do what I did, but I heard it from somewhere, and now you're hearing it from me. It was like presto fix-o!

Although it may sound gross to some, here is a remedy that's been used by my family for generations. It has worked on me, my siblings and my children. It is now known that your own urine has natural antibiotic properties unique to the individual who contributes the sample. However, your child must be old enough to urinate into a cup (with your help of course). Catch the urine in mid stream in a cup. Take 1 teaspoon and pour into the ear canal followed by a cotton ball then lay the child down for a nap. You will never spend another dime on antibiotics for ear infections if this remedy is used.

Vapor Rub

It is a common misconception that Vicks VapoRub (or its generic, which I use) is just for colds and coughs. In fact, Vicks as a topical application can be used as an effective remedy against various ailments like pain, sore throat, and for earache.

Its main ingredients menthol, camphor, thymol, turpentine and eucalyptus oil can relieve congestion in the body. It also acts as an effective topical analgesic that relieves pain.

How I use it for Earaches – In most cases, Vicks for earache relieves pain. All you need to do is rub a generous amount on a cotton ball and put it into either one or both ears overnight for relief from pain and discomfort. Also, rub it around the outside of the ear too.

If I want to put it on without wearing a cottonball in my ear during the day. I use one of those fuzzy Q-tips sold at Dollartree called a “Safty Swab”, roll it around in the Vapor Rub, wipe off any excess and swab it around inside my ear canal. Oh, it feels sooo good!
