Apple Cider Vinegar for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

What a blessing!!!! I promised God if this worked for me I would write a review so here is my story, I always had somewhat heavy periods but, as I got older around the age of 43 I started getting heavier periods with flooding and huge blood clots . Here I am at age 45 and didn't want to have the heavy bleeding and clots because I was on a cruise last year that kept me basically in my cabin bc of heavy period . I am about to go on a cruise in three weeks and didn't want the same experience ( my period is due two days before I come home ) so I decided to experiment on this period some holistic cures. I stumbled across this thread and read that Apple Cider Vinegar would help me. I was skeptical but, said to myself what do you have to lose? So I started the regime on the second day of my period I took 1 tablespoon 3 times a day in water. My period was almost non existent I only had to change my pad once!!!! ( I usually use ten pads a day sometimes double up ), last night I was waiting to wake up from "flooding " nope!!!!! What a blessing!! Thank u God for this miracle and this news thread!!!!!!

First of all I must tell you that I am 44 and in peri-menopause. Which, has been horrible for me. First, my periods I noticed were heavier. I was told because I no longer take the pill and my tubes are tied was the reason. Then, my cycle was lasting 10 days, then 15 and so on. Finally after five half month period heavy non stop bleeding, seeing Drs, trying depo. Shot, hormones and whatever as ginnie pig they wanted to give me. Anything but actualily taking care of the problem. I have no health insurance just basic Medicaid. Which I believe they don't want to cover surgery if at all possible not too. So, I got send for an ultra sound and they found cysts, tumors, fibroids. When I got the results my MD. Doctor said I needed emergency D&C. Which to this day I have not got ton. Finally the doctor agreed to schedule surgery for Summer. Yes, you heard my right Summer 2015. This problem started 2014. Months on end with on going cycle. So, as I was headed to my GYN appt. To finally get surgery scheduled my phone rang, it was the Gyn office calling to cancel my appt. Due to fact one doctor was hurt and other had to cover hospital patients. That was in Dec2014 it's now Feb13th and no call to set surgery for D&C and cervical ablation. So, my period started back up few days ago after being gone for six weeks. After my 5 half month period. Which I am at my wits end. So, I decided to search internet for home remedies. I came across this web site. Believe I am willing to try about anything.

So, day one in the evening I did 3 tbsp of ACV. With the Mothers on it. Made sure it was this kind only! Second day, 3 tbsp of ACV. With splash of apple juice. Drank quickly followed with 8 oz water. I noticed my cycle was getting lighter. I could hardly believe my eyes! I figured it couldn't hurt to keep drinking away. Day three period almost gone and only spotting. Can't believe this has actually worked!! I want to yell from ROOF top to all women suffering. This is hands down the best thing ever.

What is the science behind using Apple Cider Vinegar to reduce and even stop heavy menstrual bleeding? I am currently using this home remedy with success, but I can't seem to find the science behind this remedy and I am extremely curious! I also want to know if this is an "every day for the rest of my life" thing or only on the days that I would be menstruating, etc...Thank you in advance and really hope I get some answers!! :-)

I was starting to have flooding issues during my period. It was just awful and I had serious concerns about losing too much iron. I couldn't be too far from the bathroom! I had always had heavy periods but this was ridiculous. I tried so many doctors for help and even tried balancing my hormones using bioidentical progesterone. I tried chastberry for 6 months. Nothing worked! I wanted to run a long run that was timed the following month during my period. I wasn't going to be able to do the run and so I was desperately searching for a solution. Then I came across this site.

I realized I had some of that unfiltered, organic ACV in my cupboard. I've heard the filtered/clear stuff doesn't work and that it has to say "with mother" on the front. I pulled some out and mixed 2 tbsp with a Hot Toddy in the evening. I know, I know, evil... but I was miserable and a little cognac helped too. It worked within a few hours. It's freakin' amazing! I can't believe all the years of heavy periods and all the money on doctors. This allows you to control how heavy your periods are.

I've learned for me that 2 Tbsps of ACV (the unfiltered kind) three times a day eliminated my period all together. Adding a little liquid stevia with some water helps the taste. So now I'm going to reduce the amount of ACV I'm taking until I have a reasonable period. I am just thrilled to have control of such a scary situation - and such an inexpensive, easy solution!

I read about ACV here last month. I was suffering from flooding. I had some capsules of ACV in my kitchen. I took two capsules three times a day and after the first day the period almost completely stopped. This month I took same dosage as soon as cycle started and continued every day. Light period. No clots. All I can say is Wow!

Apple Cider Vinegar and nightmare period issues!! Oh my goodness! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! After three years of continuous bleeding and hellish, frightening pain I find this fantastic site, Earth Clinic. I have been to hell and back since all this period saga started [ I'm 45 by the way].

Doctors find it easy to shove pills in your face and send you away. I was put on norethisterone for 21 days and off for 7 days which turned out to only make the matter worse plus awful side effects. Anyway, I decided to take myself off these horrendous pills which made the bleeding a hundred times worse, the clots remained the size of mobile phones and the cramps remained the same as those I experienced during childbirth, yowser - not to mention the flooding and not being able to leave the home, shop, drive or be Mum! [ having to use 19 pads and tampons in less than 24hrs for days! ] Absolute nightmare - infact at my worst I thought I may die - really - it was that bad. I was fainting, needing a chair to sit at the cooker to try and cook for my family as I was so weak. I could hardly wash myself as I was pooped all the time. I was having to crawl up the stairs. Our bed had to have plastic sheeting on it, not that I slept as I was up every 20 mins changing. I had to sit on rolled up bath sheets on the sofa and at one stage I had to sit on my kitchen floor as I could wipe away spilage, oh goodness I'm getting rather teary, whoops.

My poor husband and son were worried to death.

BUT NOW AFTER TAKING ACV I'VE GOT MY LIFE BACK. I've been swilling ACV for a month [ 1 tbls in 1 tabls of water 2 or 3 times a day using a straw to look after ones teeth ] and it took effect almost immediately. The bleeding became lighter and lighter and then stopped for a whole 11 days - that was fantastic for me. I then had what appears to have been a normal period with no pain, no flooding and no need to take spare knickers and clothing when I left the house. This period has lasted 8 days and stopped [Been great to sleep too]! Before I was bleeding for 45 days stopping for 1 - 16 days with constant spotting and then heavy again for days. In one year I only had 29 days WITHOUT bleeding. Did the Doc care much? NO!

I have stocked up on ACV and I am so positive it's gonna keep on working - it's truly amazing. I even look like my old self again - HURAH! I've been out shopping, walking and enjoying myself I even went to my friends house this week, before I was too scared I would bleed on her furniture or be in a mess on the street.

THANK YOU ALL so much! I read thru every comment last night. I couldn't sleep a wink, 45 yrs old and my period started after nearly 10 weeks of heaven (no periods) I knew I was in trouble because my last flows have been horribly heavy but last night was the worst ever. I could go about an hour between changing tampons and pads! NOT fun, it was a nightmare. Just 2 weeks ago I read about the benefits of ACV for skin care. I thought well if its good for Scarlett then I can give it a go. I love it. My skin is soft, no blackheads and now I'm working on a couple of dark spots that are forming. So... I actually had ACV in my kitchen! Yay me! After I read a few experiences I thought my gosh go try it, what can it hurt.

I ran and measured 2 T. ACV and added about 8 oz of water. I took a straw from the cupboard and sipped in all down rather fast. I didn't care about the taste, I needed help.

Its been about 8 hours and guess what!!!!! It has slowed. I'm in total heaven. I've been so scared. I have started consuming Apple Cider Vinegar since 30 days ago (so happened one day before my menstrual started). Did not consume it at first due to heavy menstrual flow but just for the overall benefits of it.

To my surprise during my last menstrual which always have been crazy with heavy flow on second day (10-15 pads/day), my second day flow reduced by 70-80%. Menstrual was more constant in flow and ended in 5 days (which was my norm). Since then I have been consuming Apple Cider Vinegar approx. 2 teaspoon wt 150ml water in the morning on empty stomach and 2 tablespoons wt 200ml water half an hour before dinner. Now came the second month exactly 29 days since my first day of my previous menstrual. I always have 25 or 26 days of menstrual cycle but this is my first time to have it after 29 days. Throughout my menstrual I did noticed that I did not have my regular premenstrual headaches and bloatedness. I did not have my regular lower back pain which travels down to my feet during the second day. Due to the much lesser flow, I slept better. There was also no discharge before and after menstrual. Btw, I am 45 years old and have been having heavy flow for about 4-5 years. For the past 3 years I have been diagnosed with very low red blood count due to very low iron. Have been taking iron tablets but to no avail. Have taken my full blood test 45 days ago and will have it check again after this month's menstrual cycle. Curious to know if Apple Cider Vinegar helps in the aspect of my red blood count as I am not losing so much blood now. But definitely it has helped with menstrual flow and all the achy stuff that comes with it. So far happy bout it.

First if you have the ablation they are pretty easy, office procedure, I had one and it helped.

I also started bleeding terribly again (several years after the ablation). I found ACV and tried it. In 2-3 days all bleeding stopped. I put 3 TBLS in a 32oz. water jug and add a water flavoring I like to mask the taste. I drink it through out the morning and it has stopped the bleeding completely. I have also lost 7 pounds in just a couple of weeks. I generally feel better than I have in almost a year. It is worth a try. No doctor is going to tell you they agree on natural solutions, they want your money. But you know these are things ladies were doing back when there wasn't a wide knowledge of medical information especially for women issues.

I was suffering from menorrhagia as I am perimenopause at age 47 and had an IUD inserted to stop the bleeding in the moment. I was getting chest pains, shortness of breath and heart palpitations with this IUD and recently read that this IUD causes breast cancer and decided to have it removed and opted for bioidentical progesterone. When the IUD was removed I immediately started bleeding which became heavier and heavier. I searched and then came here to Earth Clinic and decided to try organic ACV since it had gotten such rave reviews from other women with a similar condition. I literally went from heavy clotted flow to light then nothing in 2 days! I was floored! It really does work and I am so grateful to all of the women that commented here.

I would also recommend bioidentical progesterone replacement as that has heart protective benefits. I am taking 50mg CMP progesterone and drinking 2 tbsp ACV 2x per day. I feel amazing!

My doctor explained that we are subjected to xenoestrogens in just about every processed product we consume (including bottled water made with BPH) and touch in our lives. These xenoestrogens cause hormonal imbalance in the form of estrogen dominance and that can cause heavy menstruation. The ACV helps to eliminate these xenoestrogens, thus restoring balance along with the bioidentical hormone replacement. LOVE IT!!!!

I found this website and read the posts here. I was very eager to stop my heavy period because I don't want to loose so much blood. I took ACV right a way and after 2-3 days my heavy bleeding stops. I still take it twice a day half teaspoon in a cup for more than a week now. Hope others will find this helpful.

It worked for me!

Woke up in a panic over menopausal "floods" this morning, jumped on my phone, looked up natural remedies and came across ACV. Took 2 teaspoons in a glass of water and flow was almost instantly ceased.

Whatnot had I tried! I had been facing a problem of heavy bleeding for 3 years, restricting me to home for most times. I was struggling with very low hb, taking IV, iron supplements and then many ways to manage the trouble my fibroids were causing.

When I bled, it bled like it's never gonna stop. I took all sorts of medicines.. mainstream, alternate but with very limited success.
And then as luck would have it as with so many others, I stumbled upon this site vouching for ACV. I religiously took 1 tablespoon everyday for a month and here I am. On the fifth day with very much regulated cycle when I was expecting it to be a big pain.

Minimal pain and no restriction at home. It was a bit heavy on the second day where I exerted a bit too much. Once I relaxed and resumed my daily routine, I was able to set out for grocery et al shopping and spent a few hours outdoors without any hassle. I did take it slow but no fear the way I dreaded leaving home in the past even for a couple of minutes.

Am so emotional that I can't even believe that it is working for me!! Go for it ladies!

The sole caution..please make sure you start slow with ACV and then increase dosage gradually especially if you get acidity and take care to drink lots of water with it to protect enamel.

You have no idea how much this post and comments from others helped me this week. I am 45 and this is the first time in a year that I have not had heavy bleeding and clotting after drinking the AVC.

I had a cup days before my period as I was clearing mucus from a cold.

On my 1st day of heavy bleeding this month, I found this article.

The following day, I had training for a new job and was having anxiety over having to keep getting up or possibly having a leak through accident. Needless to say, I was "normal" this first week of training with no heavy bleeding and not going through extra pads and tampons each hour! Saving me money as well. I have had such a pleasant experience this time, if that makes sense LOL..

Hi, this is my first time posting, but I just had to because of this change I've noticed. I've been drinking ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) and lemon mixture, for the last couple of weeks now for an diet experiment. And I've noticed that when my cycle came around, that it was VERY light. I'm usually a heavy bleeder, so I was shocked. That's why I'm here, looking for information about it. I wasn't sure if it's the lemon's or the ACV, but either way, I am happy to have some relief with it.

Due to irregular bleeding and prolong spotting I had two hysteroscopies (June 2010 and June 2013). Just a few weeks ago the spotting came back right after my monthly period. not wanting to go through any more procedures I did research and came across the ACV on this site. I tried the raw apple cider vinegar and water and the next day the spotting has completed stopped. I was in shock because I thought it wouldn't work for me. The only question I have is how long do I have to drink the ACV? Does anyone know?
