[YEA] 08/10/2007: Natalia from London, UK writes: "I use baking soda from childhood and specially as exfoliation for face even if it hurts its worth it and always add to my sponge to rub my body all over as it best cleans than anything else, and if half a cup of soda added to a cool bath(submerge with a head) it removes negativity and balances electromagnetic field of the body.My skin is very good i think as a result."
09/30/2009: Strat64 from San Bernardino, CA replies: "I have never tried baking soda for bathing or to wash my face but it sounds good. I have been using 1/2 teaspoon with 1/4 cup of water for upset stomach lately. I have been taking this for about one week whether or not I have an upset stomach. My question is---will it hurt the stomach lining of my stomach??? I have never taken this solution before for upset stomach but it sure works for me. I know baking soda has other helpful uses---thanks."

[YEA] 04/27/2007: Linda from Denver, Colorado writes: "{Ladies, please note the caveat} For me and my family and friends, baking soda has cured all kinds of microbial infections, probably due to the regulation of pH balance.
For at least 12 years now I've relied on drinking baking soda in water whenever I would come down with some sort of viral or bacterial infection, whether it is a cold, flu, stomach bug, or respiratory illness. I am convinced this method can kill any kind of infection.
When the West Nile virus was prevalent here in Colorado a few years ago, I became infected with it. I was skeptical that my baking soda cure would work, but gave it a try anyway since I was so utterly miserable. But, sure enough, later that evening the symptoms started to subside and I was nearly recovered by the next day.
Every time I have used the baking soda method it has worked. And everyone I have suggested it to and tried it has had it work for them, too.
The remedy is 1/2 teaspoon in a cup of water 2 to 3 times each day, sipping throughout the day. Take it for approximately 2 to 3 days. If symptoms do not resolve by the end of the third day then perhaps it will not be helped by baking soda; I have not found this to ever be the case though. It works no matter what stage a person is in their infection. For stomach bugs I will also add 10-15 drops of grapefruit seed extract.
Being female, however, I have noticed that I will get a vaginal yeast infection shortly after a course of baking soda. Because I believe it affects the pH, I treat myself with an apple cider vinegar/garlic rinse (1/4 cup of ACV and one clove of garlic, quartered, in 1 cup of water). I've wondered if the baking soda also kills the good bacteria in the body so afterward I supplement myself with probiotics (specifically Lactobacillus GG, the only known beneficial bacteria to survive stomach acid).
I know people who take Airborne to fight off colds. I looked at the label one day when my friend showed me the bottle, and sodium bicarbonate is one of the main ingredients. Perhaps this is the reason it works.
I believe that if there is ever a severe viral outbreak, such as SARS or H5N1, then this remedy would be worth a try. It seems I've always relied on home remedies to successfully treat myself and your site just adds to my collection of simple therapies!"
03/29/2009: DrJ from Bombay, India replies: "Dear Linda, the reason for the genital yeast infection is because your urine become too alkaline, above 7, try taking 1/4 teaspoon instead and mix in lemon juice also it will still do the job but wont give you the infection afterward. Bicarb will not harm your good bacteria, as this is anerobic, and bicarb increases oxygen due to its base action."
07/03/2009: Linda from Denver, CO replies: "Dear DrJ - I am grateful for your very specific and helpful feedback, and I'm sure it is very useful to others who wish to use the same remedy. Recently (before reading your reply) I tried cutting back on the amount of baking soda and you are right -- it does prevent getting a vaginal infection. I haven't tried it with the lemon juice, but I believe that would be a beneficial addition to my remedy and will give it a try. Thanks!"

[YEA] 02/08/2008: Elizabeth from Memphis, TN writes: "I have chronic bladder problems (Interstitial Cystitis) and am always looking for something to make it better. I drank 1/2 tsp of baking soda in some water during the worst possible bladder pain ever. In 15 minutes the pain was gone. I feel that the baking soda made the urine less acidic and that let my bladder be less irritated. Anyway, baking soda did what hundreds of dollars of meds could not do--make me feel better! Elizabeth"
06/27/2008: Deb from Akron, Ohio replies: "I am so glad to read that baking soda helps IC pain......I just started suffering with this and am so glad to find a natural remedy before i have to go thru invasive tests/treatments! Thanks for sharing, can't wait to try the baking soda! Will advise of results."
06/28/2008: Bret from Phoenix, Arizona replies: "You know, DMSO is approved by FDA for treatment of hemorragic cystitis. I about died when I confirmed this, as DMSO has be characterized as quackery by the medical powers that be. I don't understand why lesser forms of cystitis are not being catagorized as treatable with DMSO. My suspicion is that the hemoragic cystitis is so crippling and so evil that somebody with a heart at the FDA couldn't igonore the clinical research suggesting efficacy for this horrific illness. Cystitis has been called "autoimmune," naturally! By now many people reading this can predict that I will associate it with a virus or elusive infection.
How does DMSO work? Many, many theories but very few pertaining to viruses. It would be too simple and easy to say that DMSO best known as oxygen donor, attacks anaerobic viruses by depriving them of their anaerobic environment. This would be too easy! Too cheap!
Baking soda, I was skeptical at first about this broad range therapy. But, after reading so many, many testimonials from people not promoting themselves or selling anything, hell, I am about to write something about this cheap, simple remedy on my own research website. I will of course try it myself as I too am battling a chronic illness, a confirmed infection of the prostate.
Ted, in this regard has been benificial by taking the time a providing the chemistry to me which explains Baking soda's relationship to CO2.
More on that later. Baking soda, higher urine ph, is in fact anti viral as viruses just love slightly acidic environments. Alkaline ph actually prevents viral transcription of RNA for replication. Base pair matching cannot happen at certain ph levels. Even in cancer. Whatever we believe causes cystitis one thing is for certain, once again, higher oxygen and higher ph are god sent remedies."
08/02/2008: Deborah from Riverview, Fl replies: "Deb for your IC please get some Ph paper and test your urine. You want it alkaline, not acidic. Check it all day long. I think you might have a fungal growth. To kill it and get alkaline take 400mg of potassium citrate 3 times a day. Also take 1/4 tsp. borax, 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. baking soda and 1 to 2 tbls apple cider vinegar in a little water. Take it 3 times a day. You can drink some plain water after it to wash it down. The fungus won't like this and you may feel worse, before you get better, please stick with it and stay away from all sugars. I can now go 2 to 3 hours without going to the bathroom and only get up 3 times at night, it use to be every 20 minutes. Good luck and I will pray for you."

[YEA] 08/22/2007: Jackie from Chicago, IL writes: "OK guys, you have to try the baking soda remedy! It's awesome!! I have been wetting and then patting some baking soda under my arms after a shower and then going to the office. No b.o. all day -- amazing! One thing I suggest -- if you do wet the baking soda down before application, just make sure it dries before you put on a shirt. I didn't wait one day, put on a tee-shirt and hit the town. Later I looked in the mirror and discovered HUGE whitish stain rings around my pits. It looked terrible! I had a good laugh and then got mortified that I'd been out all day with pit rings. Ha ha."

[YEA] 05/25/2008: Jasmine from Chicago, IL writes: "I saw that many had mentioned that baking soda when mixed into a paste (using water) relieves and sometimes eliminates burns. This is true, however, in my own experimentation, I no longer retain burns if I have baking soda on hand.
Apply the paste thickly over the burned area. The thicker the better. I leave it on until it dries, then rinse it off with water and reapply. Continue doing this until you have no pain. This completely takes the pain and redness out of 1st and 2nd degree burns. You won't even know you were burned! The first time you apply it, it will relieve the pain, but it may return. I've never had to apply it more than 4 times but trust me, taking the time to do this remedy will save you blistering, pain, and irritation later on!
There is one other remedy for burns. I once burned my hand on a very hot light bulb. My skin turned white on one site of the burn, indicating a 3rd degree condition. I didn't have any feeling in the area, the skin was completely dead. The other parts were red and sore, indicating a 2nd degree burn. A day past and I had no relief. The burn started looking worse. I tried honey, it only made me sticky but the heat was still there.
I knew that tea was an astingent, so I took a normal lipton black tea bag and dunked it in hot water twice, then I allowed the bag to cool. I placed the wet bag over the burn and wrapped my hand to keep it in place. I fell asleep for 2 hours and when I woke up the burn no longer hurt and was beginning to heal! I changed bags and rewrapped it for a few hours. My skin turned temporarily a little orange/brown but the burn gave me no problems afterward, healed perfectly and didn't scar at all."

04/27/2008: roseroberta from Roseville, MN writes: "I suggest that your readers go here: www.curenaturalicancro.com. Here you will find that doctors have been finding and ignoring that surrounding every cancer is fungus. Baking soda kills the fungus in the body. If some are getting a yeast infection which is a fungus. I find that interesting. This site uses straight Baking Soda with no ACV and does so both by mouth, intravenously and injected into cancer sites. It may be that acid reflux is also a symptom of candida. Those who find relief from bread....may and I am not sure....may be getting relief due to the fact that the bread feeds the yeast and gets it to shut up.
I have a cat who has incurable cancer. We are going to inject it into the site. I will print here how it goes.I myself have just started doing the ACV and honey with Baking Soda I may try also adding the Coconut oil. I would be interested in hearing from others, but don't want my email address hooked to a spider. Cheers."

[YEA] Marla from Santa Barbara, CA writes: "I just recently read about a Dr in Italy using Baking soda to cure cancer here is his site curenaturalicancro.com so this protocol is very timely Marla"
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "After looking at the details, it appears they go to the extreme to claim the using of just baking soda alone would work. Citrates are actually more effective, e.g. baking soda and lemon (e.g. citrates in form of sodium & potassium). Metabolism needed to be raised to fight against sickness, e.g. acv baking soda (it's the acetate and malates)The problem is the issue is about balance where the body's sodium: potassium ratio is held in balance.
Also the most effective form of alkalizing is actually the citrates, which is actually found as a reaction from the baking soda and citric acid (sodium bicarbonate citric acid = sodium citrate), that effectively raises the pH with any degree enough to kill of fungus or infection. This is why the lemon bicarbonate formula is recommended for cancer (prostrate, leukemia, etc. that I got a good feedback).
An ideal alkalization is whatever you are taking should be in a proper portion to the body's fluids, much like Ringer's solution or Mammalian solution. It is not just the use of baking soda, more importantly it is also citrate, malates, acetates, that the website completely misses on."
03/29/2009: DrJ from Bombay, India replies: "I totally agree! Lemon (citric acid) are vital for the Krebs cycle and oxygenation as well as oxygenation. Lemon/Bicarb formula seems to be more affective than Bicarb alone!"
06/28/2009: Rene from Palmdale, California replies: "For DrJ, India My friend is poor. She has basosquamous CA, left cheek area. Already had a 10 hour surgery. 08/22/2009: Gemma from Sidney, British Columbia, Canada replies: "I came across Dr. Tullio Simoncini's website http://www.curenaturalicancro.com/index.php that espouses the use of baking soda or sodium bicarbonate to treat various cases/forms of cancer, which to him is a fungus. It hurt to even swallow and actually woke me up at 2:00 am in the morning last night. Apparently the Zilactin-B I put on it was not working! I stumbled upon your website and decided to try the only 2 things I could get my hands on at that time of night: salt and baking soda. First I removed all of the Zilactin and rinsed my mouth with warm salt water. Then, I made a paste with baking soda and a few drops of water and placed it on the canker and let it sit for about a mintue. Then I rinsed my mouth with plain warm water. I also took 2 tylenol to help get back to sleep. I still had some pain when trying to get back to sleep, but just woke up completely pain free!! I can swallow without pain and actually enjoyed my breakfast! I can't believe it! I plan to put another "paste" on today just to make sure, but will attest that this remedy really works!"

[YEA] 01/04/2009: T3 from Chicago, IL writes: "No cure for my cysts all of them, with different names in different places. Well, one day my white shirt had blood under the arm from the cyst, must have busted while at work, lucky to have my required black jacket and I took baking soda and vinegar and water, it bubbled and then I put the part of the shirt in it and wet it, took it out, and started rubbing vigorously a couple of times. But I then just used the baking soda and water and it worked better, I made another concoction and with a paper towel wet it and put it under my arm pits, it burned the one cyst that didn't burst and relived the one that did. Strange. Just when you thought vinegar was the ultimate cure, so is baking soda. For upset stomach, mix with water and you'll will burp like when you were in high school trying to win a contest. My cat even looked at me with surprise and I turned red. Stomachache gone."

[YEA] 09/10/2007: Shirley from Midwest, USA writes: "Borax Bath, ACV remedies -- I have two dogs; both are less than 5 lbs. One has itchy skin so I started using the borax solution bath on both dogs. In about 3 hours after the bath, the one with itchy skin was scratching again. I didn't know what to do at that point so I rubbed dry baking soda over her whole body. While I had her on her back applying the soda under her legs, she went to sleep. It was that comforting to her. Anytime she starts scratching and it seems it won't quit and I don't have time to do a bath, I have been using the baking soda. She seems to love it and her skin stops itching for at least 3 days.
While she was in her comfort zone of no itching, she was walking better, running and playing and wasn't so scared all the time. So the itching was causing some social behavior problems too. I have tried both recipes of borax and peroxide and then I've done borax and ACV, Her skin still itches after each but she does seem a lot better then before, not quite as much scratching going on. One question though.
Do you think if I added some baking soda to the solution that would help her since the dry soda does wonders for her? They do not have mange or fleas. Also I have been putting a teaspoon of ACV in their drinking water all summer. Their water bowl holds 2 & 3/4 cups water. I do add about 1/16 teaspoon of baking soda to the vinegar. For a couple years I was putting the medicine on their backs for fleas and ticks. Ticks are the worst problem here. I decided to put the ACV in their water and I then stopped the spot on- medicine. They have gone the whole summer without getting one tick on them. We live in a heavily wooded area with lots of tall grasses where ticks love to wait for a host to walk by so they can latch onto them. Both dogs play in the woods a lot because they are always looking for something to chase Using the ACV water instead of the medicine has saved me a bunch of money and made both dogs a lot healthier."

[YEA] 07/10/2009: Kristinad from West Valley City, Utah writes: "I got a case of ring worm that seemed to appear out of no where. The area felt itchy for several days and then a patch a bit smaller than a dime appeared. It was a very classic circle with little mounded dots around the edge and red in the whole circle and it itched like crazy. I looked on your sight for a cure and tried several including the penny-in-vinegar etc. Some helped a little others made it worse.
When it first appeared I had tried plain Baking Soda which definitely calmed it down but it did not disappear. I decided to try it again with a little vaper rub like Vicks from the dollar store, to hold it in place. It worked immediately and in two days was totally gone. I was very happy!
Baking soda has worked miracles for me in many ways, including getting rid of mouth infections and a patch of eczema on my elbow that had been there for years.
It is the first thing I turn to for a sugar reaction. Just a tiny amount on the tip of my finger clears up all kinds of problems. For skin surface problems, mostly I have just made a paste of BS and water and allowed it to dry but now I have tried it with the Vicks like product and with Triple Antibiotic that works better as it holds it at the sight. I do not know what would work in the mouth, not that of course!
I believe we are all different and the differences in our natural body chemistry makes things react differently for all of us so we have to find what is right for us. I love this sight as it has so many wonderful ideas and I've had a lot of success with different cures. Thanks so much!
One more thought I have, is I feel it is important to not over do on natural remedies. When I see people saying they take something everyday after it first worked it makes me wonder. If you do it too often and too much when you do not really need it, then where are you going to get the lift you need when you have another problem. Moderation, I believe, is a wise course, but everyone is different and has to find what works for them."
