07/16/2008: Kathy from Atlantic County, New Jersey writes: "I've been giving my mother (who has diabetes 2) apple cider vinegar whenever she will agree to take it in hopes of lowering her blood sugar. When she does take it her sugar readings go down (sorry, but I don't have the exact numbers.) The only problem is she hates the taste of it so much it's hard to get her to drink it!! I've come up with a much better tasting recipe; I put about 5 drops of the liquid stevia (might need to try a few different brands - I hate to say it, but the more expensive brands do taste better) in with 2 T. of the vinegar & about 6 - 8 ounces of water & a couple of ice cubes. She doesn't love it (I do!) but she can handle it much better. Cheers!"

07/15/2008: Lana from Somewhere, Israel writes: "I have overcome the problem of not liking the tasts of my ACV/baking soda combination by adding as many drops of Tabasco sauce as I can take. (That little bottle lasts a surprisingly long time...) I think that also takes care of my cayenne pepper requirements. Could someone either confirm or deny that Tabasco sauce is the same as cayenne? Thanks, and health and happiness to all!"

Maple Vinaigrette Dressing

* 1/2 cup Pure Maple Syrup
* 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* 1 cup olive oil
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
Preparation:
Combine mustard and basil in a small bowl. With a whisk, add vinegar, maple syrup, lemon juice and garlic. Add olive oil and continue whisking until ingredients are well combined. Season with sea salt and pepper. Refrigerated, the dressing will keep for several weeks.

[YEA] 04/11/2008: Martha from Ontario, Canada writes: "I have just started ACV for weight loss support and blackstrap molasses in hopes of reversing advancing gray hair.
This recipe made both products more palatable for me:
2tbsp ACV
2tbsp BSM
Mix in a tall glass until the BSM is dissolved. Add a full can of club soda or mineral water - be careful, it really fizzes. Stir lightly, add ice if desired, and enjoy. Sorta sweet, sorta tangy, nicely fizzy, dark brown. It's a taste that grows on you, sort of like Coke does."

[YEA] 02/27/2008: Anna from Los Angeles, California writes: "I just tried AVC for the first time and it actually is quite the miracle... I feel lots of energy just from the first drink! And I actually think it tastes pretty good... 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar 1/2 tspn of cayenne pepper 1/2 lemon juice 2 tspns of maple syrup I was not actually expecting to find this today or this website... while I couldn't go to school today from horrible heartburn and this remedy actually helps if you ever get heartburn!"

[YEA] 02/22/2008: Lacie from Weston, Idaho writes: "Recipe
3 TB Apple Cider Vinegar
3 TB lime juice, fresh squeezed if possible
2 TB honey sprinkle of cinnamon
Boil 8 oz of water, and add the ingredients. Stir until honey is dissolved.
It tastes like a christmas wassail recipe that my family makes, but much healthier. Even my cousins who hate the vinegar loved it when they added a little more honey to make a sweet drink."

[YEA] 02/09/2008: Decolia from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma writes: "The best way that I've found to drink ACV is like this.. boil water like you're making tea, to your cup add 2 Tablespoons ACV 1 Tablespoon Lemon juice and add honey to taste. It works great for a sore throat and helped treat my strep throat as a kid. I just love the stuff! I've begun drinking it again recently and haven't felt this good in ages! I'm also overweight and have PCOS, so I'm excited to see if there are any benefits there as well. I hope you enjoy this mix, it seems to make it a bit more appetizing. Enjoy!"

[YEA] 12/22/2007: Selah from Winamac, Indiana writes: "I recently found this and am trying it and I love it! I plan to start a second batch soon because the first batch will be gone very quickly! It's called Fire Cider. It is effective, easy to make and tasty, though not for the weak of heart. Make a batch before the cold season starts.
FIRE CIDER!
1 Quart AC vinegar
1/4 cup grated fresh horseradish
1 onion, chopped
1 head garlic, peeled & chopped
2 tablespoons powdered turmeric
1 cup honey
cayenne pepper, to taste
1. In a glass or stainless steel sauce pan heat vinegar on the stove to where it is warm, but not boiling.
2. Fill a clean glass jar with horseradish, onion, garlic, turmeric, and a pinch or two of Cayenne pepper.
3. Pour in the warmed vinegar and cap with an acid-proof lid.
4. Store in a warm place 3 to 4 weeks; shaking a few times a week.
5. Strain mixture and add enough honey to suit your taste.
6. Rebottle fire cider and refrigerate.
7. At the first sign of a cold take 1 to 2 tablespoons every 2 to 3 hours until your symptoms subside.
I use a mason jar and put wax paper on top before putting the lid on."

[YEA] 12/07/2007: Renee from Tucson, Arizona writes: "With ACV, taking 6 tablespoons a day, 3 in the morning, 3 in the evening, it cleared my skin up completely within less than a few days, but the smell of it makes me so woozy, and it burns my throat and stomach. I take it anyway, but I just add a little bit of orange juice and take it like a shot of alchohol, and quickly drink more orange juice. I just wanted to know it thats an acceptable way to take my ACV."

[YEA] 12/05/2007: Clayton from Willamina, Oregon, USA writes: "I have been using ACV for a couple of months now. I started off with one Tbls in a glass of cold water. Now I am using 2 Tbls of ACV, 2Tbls Raw Honey, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, 1/2 tsp of Cayenne Pepper. I mix the ingrediants in a large mug, add hot water from a tea pot. This concoction tastes pretty good, is not very spicy (the pepper is hardly noticable). I have had more energy, felt better, sleep MUCH better. And like others I have noticed my dreams to be very vivid & clear."

[YEA] 12/05/2007: Carlos Suarez from Jacksonville, USA writes: "I have also been taking acv (apple cider vinegar) and discovered if I put 1 Tblspn in 4oz water and put in a dropper full of stevia extract, it is much easier to drink. In 2 weeks my fasting glucose went from 115 to 92 and after meals from 163 to <120."

[YEA] 11/25/2007: Estherrene from Wichita, Kansas writes: "I only drink Organic ACV because it is raw and unfiltered. It has a recipe on the bottle for ACV Bracer to start the day with a wake -up vinegar bracer. 1-2tsp of ACV, 1tsp of honey, water' but never hot water because hot water de-activates enzymes. Some one posted a recipe using ACV with warm water. Who is correct "Solana Gold posted oVirtues of Vinegar or the reader feedback posted on 08/30/2007? I personally takes the Bracer recipe with no water, and it is truly a pick-me-upper with no jitters. ERC of Wichta, Kansas."
05/07/2008: Rachel from Ferndale, MI replies: "I think ACV could do just as well in iced tea. Maybe after your tea (and raspberry, cinnamon apple, and many other herbal teas taste good iced) can be cooled in the fridge, and then the ACV can be added before drinking. That way the enzymes aren't killed."

Even if you go with "lite", which has splenda added, uh oh.. thats not good either. Soo...I buy Gerber's Baby Apple Juice which has only 13 g of sugar. This is the best route so far!"

[YEA] 05/22/2007: Pamela from Granite Falls, WA writes: "I take apple cider vinegar as a digestive aid (with EXCELLENT results). I mix 2 TBLS of Raw Organic ACV with 4oz of Unfiltered Organic Apple Juice and 4 oz of pure bottled water. To avoid DENTAL problems, I simply drink the ACV with a STRAW. To restore the ph in my mouth, I rinse and/or brush with baking soda and water."

[YEA] 04/20/2007: Stella from Walnut Creek, CA writes: "I have been doing this for about a month now and I love it. It has increased my energy and helped my mood. I feel much more pep when I use it. I have found the perfect formula for me:, it tastes like an apple soda.
Stella's Formula
8oz Water
2 Tbsp ACV
1/4 Tsp baking soda
1 Pack stevia
In case you are not familiar with stevia, it is a natural herb sweetner. It makes the Apple Cider Vinegar taste delicous and it does not add any calories! It readily dissolves in water and is much more healthy then chemical sweetners, you know the ones.. We are not allowed to market stevia as a sweetner in this country because the power that be would prefer us to keep using those chemical sweetners that are so profitable for them. But it can be sold as a supplement. You will find it in health food stores. It does not work great for coffee but works wonderfully for cold drinks and tea."

[YEA] 04/13/2007: Anna from Ottawa, Canada writes: "I just wanted to comment that if you take 4 tablespoons for honey on a daily basis, you may end up with a candida overgrowth (especially considering that most of us have a yeast overgrowth in the first place, at least to some extent). Candida overgrowth is a serious problem and will be exceptionally hard to rid off. The same is true about molases and apple juice. I think it is safer to stick with water when mixing ACV."
05/07/2008: Rachel from Ferndale, MI replies: "I was wondering if ACV is a good remedy for people who already have a candida overgrowth. I would like to have the health benefits of it, but I've heard vinegar is bad for candida."
