[YEA]  I have been on your site for the last 3 hours and wish to congratulate Ted and the people participating in the interesting web site. I have learned a great deal reading the questions and answers. I remember my grand-father taking one cup of hot water with a little soda every night before going to bed. My mother told me it was for to help his digestion. Did not know about mixing with ACV. Again thank you for this web site. Sue, Montreal

GERD   5  0

Question about long term use and hiatal hernia: I am ready to start trying Ted's formula (but using sodium free baking soda) for my severe GERD (hiatal hernia/Barrett's). What I'd like to hear from anyone is, will using the ACV and baking soda keep any further damage from occuring in the esophagus? I want to get off Protonix as it has caused a Vit B12 deficiency and the side effects are awful. Has anyone actually been scoped after using this formula? What were the results? Any info on the long-term use and help is greatly appreciated!

[WORKED TEMPORARILY]  I've been on 30mg Prevacid for almost ten years and suffer from severe GERD. If I forget a dose of Prevacid, I know it by 10am.

I started on the ACV regimen two days ago and have noticed immediate results. I and my wife are both thrilled about it. I am using Ted's version of the recipe (2T of ACV and 1/4t of baking soda).

I note that the effects of the ACV wear off in about 3-4 hours and I need to redose, but since I'm supposed to be taking the concoction three times a day, I'm not surprised.

However, I'm wondering if you have any advice for dosage with someone whose GERD is as severe as mine is. Will the effects last longer if I take 3T of ACV? Or is the regular alkalization of the body throughout the day the goal? And finally, can I make a preparation of ACV and BS first thing in the morning (6T ACV and 3/4t of BS) and drink it throughout the day, or will the BS degrade or fizz away and lose potency?

Thanks.

[YEA]   "Yes, it works!!! I discovered a "tweak" I am adding at the end of my little blurb. My reflux problem was fairly severe and had plagued me for about 15 years. The ACV keeps it in check and I consider myself lucky to have found this site. I started taking it about 6 months ago after reading the information on this site. I followed Ted's protocol of 5 days on; 2 days off. It took about 2 weeks to really make a difference and when I stopped taking it again, foolish thinking I was cured, it started gradually coming back. I took it regularly for several months and then tended to forget to take the regular dose.

What I found works well for me is to simply take it when I remember to without serious regard to the protcol. Sometimes it is 3 times in a day, sometimes once or twice in a day - sometimes it is every day, other times there are a few days between my doses. I went on a 2 week road trip in this summer and was not able to take any for those 2 weeks. Apparently as long as I take it reasonably regularly, it works despite my not following the protocol religiously. I would highly recommend starting Ted's protocol, then adjusting it to your body's needs. I suspect there will be variations in how it works for each individual according to age, gender, weight, metabolism and so on. Mixing the ACV 1 glass at a time is a bit of a pain, so I got myself a 1 litre jug and marked off the 75 ml (or 1/3 cup) then put 1 tsp ACV in a filled with 750 ml (3 cups) water. This way I don't have to mix so often. I found I prefer it slightly acidic as opposed to tasting the baking soda.

Now for my "tweak": I found if I pour the water in with the ACV, then add the baking soda last and slap a tight-fitting cap on before the baking soda starts to foam up. What happens is you have now created a carbonized beverage that almost (emphasis on almost) tastes good. Hope this helps you as much as it did me. My sincere Thanks to Ted. Steener from QB, Canada

I'm surprised that the glass that you put the ACV and BS in and put a tightly closed lid on hasn't exploded yet, IMO that could prove to be dangerous due to the pressure build up in the glass!

[YEA]  I'm Boy Fekiciano jr. from San Rafael, Bulacan. I was diagnosed of having GERD by my gastro, n was treated with that purple pill . At first , it was working but because of using it everytime i have reflux, my condition WAS' getting worse. i can't eat the food i like anymore especially if it was fried or oily food because these food should be avoided by peole with GERD, and so i have on the table with me a cup of hot water to wash my food to lessen the oil so i can eat it. despite doing this i still experience reflux. taking too much of that purple pill over the long term had a very serious side effect. it returns with a vengeance, somewhat a rebound effect. I was almost desperate what to do because everytime i complained of gerd to my doctor, the medication was always proton pump inhibitor or that purple pill. with so much desperation , i search the web about acid reflux and gerd n accidentally i saw this write up with testimonials about taking 2tbsp of acv and 1/4 tsp of baking soda mix in a half of glass of water from ted's . actually i just took a gamble by trying it, and when i tried it my energy was and in fact is strong and my acid reflux was gone. thank you so much you wonderful people, i appreciate your contributions to humanity. and of course all the GLORY TO GOD ALMIGHTY!

[YEA]  I have a lung disease (sarcoid) which makes it easy for me to get every bug going around. I had bronchitis and pnemonia for three months. I took various antibiotics for those three months. I got better but I had a raging case of GERD from then on. The purple pill and others did not work. I tried ACV and soda, it works for me. I know that antibiotics are going to be a part of my life, but at least I don't have GERD any longer.

[YEA]  There were a lot of postings so I wasn't able to read through all of them. I may be retouching on something that someone else has already said, so I'm sorry for that. But this remedy is great. I'm only 26 years old and I started getting GERD at 17. After finally stopping drinking and smoking the doctor finally put me on a PPI. They really have worked great. I rarely have any flare ups, but I was having constant stomach gas and bloating. It was almost embarrassing no to mention uncomfortable. I found this site and wanted to try something more natural. So I stupidly quit the pills right away and tried this remedy. I ended up with far worse acid pain than I had ever had before. It almost made me sick one night to the point that I was laying on the floor ready to cry. Then I read about adding the baking soda. Thank God for that. It instantly calmed everything down. I think it took a total of a week for the PPI withdrawl to go away. Now, I kind of carry around a water bottle of the mix and use less and less of it every day. So for those using PPI's looking for something else, this does work. THe PPI withdrawl is intense, but I think it is worth it.

[YEA]  I was diagnosed with GERD 2 years ago and have been on Aciphex. I recently was told my iron has very low saturation and was put on iron supplements. I am very upset about this and hate taking meds, therefore I found this site by serious research. I went off the Aciphex and tool 2 tbls of Organic ACV and within MINUTES I FELT BETTER!! Being off the Aciphex made my heartburn awful, and this remedy really helped, and right away. I have been taking the ACV with 1/4 teas of baking soda and 4 oz. of water for the past 4 weeks now and I am happy to say that not only has my GERD cleared up, but my sinus allergies are completely GONE and I am also off of Flonase, which I have been on for 10 years. I can't tell you how happy this has made me!!!!

NOW: My question to Ted is that is taking baking soda safe on a daily basis? My niece is an Acupuncturist and I have sent her some of your emails and she is disagreeing with you on this point. She believe it will increase my blood pressure by taking BS. Can you please respond to this? I really feel much better and don't want to hurt my Esophagus more by not neutralizing the acid in the ACV. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Kathi

Gout   2  0

Posted by JJ (Wichita, KS/USA) on 11/13/2008

[YEA]  ACV & baking soda: I woke up one morning with an ache in my thumb and by the next day I had my first attack of Gout. A friend, who is an MD gave me a script for colchozine and I got absolutely no relief from taking that, prednizone and large amounts of ibuprophen. It hurt so badly for four days, I was starting to freak out! I went to our local health food store and bought $100 worth of supplements and began taking things like cherry, celery seed, alfalfa and fatty acids. Then that night I found a web site that told me to take ACV & baking soda in 6 - 8 oz. of water. I did it that night and thought I felt some relief but didn't want to be too hopeful. In the night I woke up and took more water and baking soda only. (I understood the chemistry behind the soda offsetting the acid) I woke up disappointed that it was not better at all. I found this web site and I decided to try the ACV & Baking soda again and amazingly withing 20 minutes I began feeling a lot of relief. I kept up the same regiment of supplements but with the ACV & baking soda twice a day. After 4 days I'd say I'm 90% recovered. The pain was much reduced after 1 1/2 days. I still have a small knot and some tenderness in one spot! Thanks so much!!!

I don't use the baking soda but I have been using ACV religiously for a year now and zero gout attacks. I was getting them about once every 2 months and they are so painful. Now, I just take two tablespoons of ACV with water before I eat. I only eat twice a day, morning and evening. It also helps my blood sugar and blood pressure.

I tell my daughter and son in law to start taking it but they think it's some voo doo cure. They are in the medical field.

I should say that I don't take the baking soda because I don't want the additional sodium. I also do oil pulling which the benefits can be found on this website.

[YEA]   "I can concur. I've been drinking 2T vinegar in one qt water twice daily and adding once daily 1/8t baking soda the past two days for my uric acid kidney stones and within one day from beginning the vinegar, my gouty feet were healed and I've been able to put my feet flat on the floor for the first time in years. I didn't even realize the amount of pain I had been in. It's truly amazing.

Heartburn   1  0

[YEA]  Hi Everyone, I am glad to say that I have finally found the remedy for curing my heartburn which I have been coping with for the last three years. The apple cider vinegar and baking soda with acidophilus is the remedy that seems to work for me. I use the straw to drink the apple cider vinegar. However, I don't seem to tolerate the 1 cup, so I only drink 1/2 cup and it seems to do magic. Thank You so much for posting the recipe and giving people hope to cure heart burn which can absolutely ruin every day of your life. thanks again.

I CAME ACROSS THIS WEBSITE IN MY SEARCH FOR NATURAL CURES FOR HBP AND YES I SEE ALL THE VARIOUS FEEDBACK ON THIS CURE. BUT I NEED TO ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE I TRY THIS AS I SEEMTO REACT OF ALMOST EVERYTHING I TAKE IN AN ADVERSE WAY. HOW LONG DOES ONE HAVE TO TAKE THIS MIX TO BE FULY CURED?OR DOES ONE HAVE TO TAKE ON A REGULAR BASIS IN ORDER TO KEEP THE LEVELS BALANCED? IF REGUARLY, WHAT OTHER EFFECT WOULD THIS MIX HAVE ON MY BODY? I ASK BECAUSE TOO MUCH APV CAN AFFECT THE LIVER AND TOO MUCH BICARB CAN CAUSE WHAT??? HAVE NOT RESEARCHED THIS AS YET BUT ????

I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE WITH THE MEDICATION I AM BEING GIVEN HERE IN MY COUNTRY WHICH ARE PURELY EXPERIMENTAL FOR PHARMACEUTICALS AND DOCTORS HERE DO NOT REALLY CAREIF YOU ARE HEALED ONLY THAT YOU ARE A REGULAR PATIENT BEING ATTENDED BY THEM FOR YEARS UNTIL YOUR DEATH WITH NO IMPROVEMENT OF HEALTH. THAT MUCH I KNOW.

I WOULD APPRECIARE SOME FEEDBACK THANK YOU.

Hives   1  0

Posted by Kenny (Strathclyde, Scotland) on 02/20/2008

[YEA]  I have suffered from Cholinergic Urticaria or Hives as it's more commonly known, for the past 15 years. I have attended Dermatologists galore, tried anti-histamines and all sorts! To no avail. So... I did some research and tried a number of things, natural and herbal, like Quercetin tabs (found in red onions) which is natures anti-histamine, with mixed success. Interestingly though, my ailment appears when stressed, hot - in warm weather or artificial heat, like a sauna, sweating or excercising vigorously and is manifest with red bumps all over my arms, legs, neck and torso which can become itchy - not to mention unsightly. I found the best treatment is an Air Bath - cool or cold air outdoors, minus the clothes, not always possible though!! ;-)I've been on ACV for a while (read my last post on 2/19/08) and decided to manipulate the system I had adopted and over-and-above my two cups of ACV/water solution a day, I decided to try the ACV/bicarb of soda (2tablespns to 1/4teaspn mix in water) about half an hour before vigorous excercise. The red bumps were hardly noticeable, I was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt for the first time in ages, and when I finished, I went for my usual 'sauna, cold shower, steam bath then another cold shower' routine to finish off. Normally,I'd look like I had been stung by a thousand bees! Literally. However, on this occassion, my skin was pretty clear, not red and inflamed looking - very few small red bumps but hardly noticeable, I felt fantastic!! No skin experts, doctors or snake oil salesmen could break the code, but I think I may have. Interestingly though, I beleive wholeheartedly that part of the problem is acid/alkali PH balance in the body and crucially, when out of kilter, renders the body susceptible to all-sorts of conditions. Thanks to Ted for the tip!!!

Indigestion   0  1

[NAY]  i' have tried apple cider vinegar...and baking soda for the indigestion i told my doctor about it....he told me that the apple cider vinegar was good to take...but the baking soda is not good for me, and i should stop taking it immediately. the reason is because the baking soda throws your body off balance causing major problems. that why i wouldnt...my opinion, mix apple cidar vinegar and baking soda together for indigestion again....just sound like a bad combination. i was also told not to before mixing it with the apple cidar vinegar....that is my opinion....

Your doctor is making a common mistake based in his lack of knowledge and training in biochemistry...He is probably just trying to protect you...the remedy is safe.

[YEA]  I am 48 yrs old and have suffered from severe insomnia for 9 years. I have taken ambien sleeping pills for the last 5 years just to get a good night sleep. It also lowered my cholesterol 30 points, and I no longer have acid reflux. Thank you for your website. Its been such a blessing.

Kidney Infection   2  0

Posted by Aim (Louisville, Ky) on 08/20/2008

[YEA]  I got an e coli infection from eating at a local fast food joint. After the five days of diarrhea I then had a kidney/bladder infection from it.

My blood pressure on tuesday was 149/94. I read on here about the ACV and baking soda. I put two tablespoons acv with with a 1/4 tablespoon baking soda in a full glass of water. About three hours later I took my blood pressure; it was 124/79. Wow, and I feel so much better too!

I had to force myself to drink it, but it was definently worth it.
