[YEA] 11/17/2008: CAZZA from GLASGOW, Lanarkshire, Scotland writes: "My son was driving himself (and me) mad with his itchy skin patches, for which the doctor prescribed Cannestan, which is used for treating fungal infections, but has a steroid in it so can thin the skin. I wasn't very happy about it, but I would have done anything to stop my son's irritation. However, it wasn't working very quickly and I could see his itchy area spreading and going on for weeks and weeks. It was at this point of desperation that I found this web site and was astonished at the variety of natural remedies. I had some tea tree oil (diluted) in my medicine cabinet to treat spots, so I put it on my son and within days it was gone. I just put the tea tree on a cotton bud and spread it over the affected area, which was quite large. I have now gone out and bought a new bottle of tea trea oil for any future breakouts. I would try this again and would also try garlic and the apple cider vinegar."

[YEA] 11/24/2006: Krenee from Oregon writes: "I had a very bad case of ringworm that I got from a friend's cat. I tried everything to get rid of it, baking soda, calamine lotion, ++ nothing worked and it got worse. I went to the emergency room of the hospital, because it had spread down my leg and looked terrible and the itch was driving me crazy. . They prescribed me a ointment and after spending close to $300 it did not work. I told a friend about it and she went online for me and found that pure tea tree oil extract is a homeopathic alternative. I would have tried anything to get rid of it. I ran to the store and bought the purest little bottle I could find. I rubbed a small amount of the oil on my infected skin reapplied every so often, and I kid you not, in two day it was pretty much all cleared up! It stopped the speeding and caused what was there to dry up and my skin was healing. I was hooked. I heard it is used for acne and helps mosquito bites dry up fast without drying out your skin. I now carry it when ever I travel. Please try this. It really works! I good bottle cost about $8 and will last a very long time."

[YEA] 04/02/2007: Jim from Clark, NJ writes: "TEA TREE OIL / SKIN ZINC: I had a rash on my foot on and off last summer (06) which I never worried much about. In early september, noticed a slight rash on both biceps and then a little bit on my chest. Tried Cortizone creams and stuff - nothing worked. Went for a physical and the doctor said it was a skin fungus and prescribed a cream. The first one burned and itched so bad I had to rub it off - so he changed it to another cream, which 2 weeks later did nothing. I started taking white vinegar to it and using Selsum Blue - which helped, but didn't eradicate it. Bought this stuff salusil (salusil.com), which cost a fortune for a tiny tube - helped a little bit, but didn't do much At my point of total exasperation, I bought Tea Tree Oil and Skin Zinc kit. Also used a jojoba and tea tree oil based soap in the shower. And it's finally truly clearing up. It's still there - but it's the best it's looked in 5 months. Just relieved I didn't go to the dermatologist (and hope I won't have to)!"

TURMERIC, BICARB SODA, COCONUT OIL PASTE
[YEA] 05/10/2009: Shine from Gabs, Botswana writes: "My 5 year old niece had ringworms on her knee (she had this one for a while, it just kept scabbing and growing) and thighs( this one was new) and I first rubbed both with lemon slice and then proceeded to rub with a mixture of tumeric, bicarbonate of soda and coconut oil (just form a paste no need for exact measurements). I left the paste on for about 10 min (please be careful with clothing, the paste will stain) washed it off and then applied castor oil on it. 2 days later the old one is gone just scar left and the new one is slightly visible but not itching. Am going to continue till all gone."

[YEA] 10/09/2008: Michelle from Mansfield, OH replies: "I haven't actually tried this myself but am quite sure it works, due to the fact that the fungus that causes ringworm is the same as athlete's foot. My reason for this conclusion is that my husband who was in the Marine corp from 94-98 was taught that if ever he was to get athlete's foot and could not get medical treatment to urinate on it. and he says it did work."

1 BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
[BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS] 12/08/2009: Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy from Chicago, Il writes: "Ringworm is 100% effective birth control
My nightmare started with one ******* spot on my neck that grew to cover the front portion of my neck much of my scalp, chin, ear, chest, left nipple and eventually my left foot, left leg and right butt cheek.
Needlesstosay it was the ultimate form of birth control.
I put full strength bleach on it multiple times a day. However, while bathing, the running water down my body gave baby spores a train ride to new territory on my body. So I used apple cider vinegar during my shower. Cleaned the shower with bleach afterwards.
It was a cat mouse game that lasted for damn near a month.
I washed my winter coat, bedding/linen and clothing daily. I stopped exercising daily because of the sweat.
I stopped using the bleach because I was getting an infection/fever from it. My poor liver couldn't filter it out enough.
I ended up in the ER room. The doctor recommended I take benedryl orally for the itching, and use 2% vaginal yeast infection cream.
Well I slathered it on as a full body lotion and sprayed lysol on myself
The end of their crusade came when I took benedryl orally, used 2% vaginal yeast infection cream as an all over body lotion, and sprayed lysol on myself.
The lysol increased my fever. But read the back, it says it kills ringworm.
I sat in my window starring into the clouds with a revolver close to my head, when I noticed "dead skin" falling off me.
Lo and behold, I took a piece of paper and rubbed part of the area and more skin miraculously feel off.
Lysol and vaginal yeast infection cream saved my life."

[YEA] 02/03/2009: Robert from Rocky River, Ohio writes: "I have been combating some stubborn ringworm for about 9 months - on my hip. I tried the usual over the counter (otc) anti-fungel creams and apple cider vinigar (acv). The otc creams just seemed to make it angry and more aggressive, as did the acv. Finally my doctor gave me a prescription for prednisone and that took care of it... for about 5 months. Then it appeared again in the same spot. This time I tried tea tree oil... no luck. Tried clear nail polish.. no luck. Tried absorbine Jr. - no luck. Then I read about people treating toenail fungus with Vick's VopoRub and decided to try that. I have to say I am getting results. In just a few days it seems to be clearing up. I am very pleased."

[YEA] 09/22/2008: Mark from Tulsa, OK writes: "When I was a kid and got ringworm my Grandfather told me to go get a green walnut off of the tree that we had in our back yard. He cut the walnut and told me to rub the juice on the ringworm. I did this one time and the ringworm disappeared and never came back. This is an ancient remedy that originated in the european country of wales and was passed down to my grandfather from his dad. My cat recently acquired ringworm but I no longer live in my childhood home in the country that had the walnut tree out back so I went to the health food store and got some walnut extract which is diluted with 50% alcohol. It is working, after 3 or 4 applications but it's still not as good as the green walnut juice. It cured the ringworm with one application."

[YEA] 02/21/2009: Lydia from Okemos, Michigan writes: "I have had ringworm for about 3 weeks now. I can't seem to get rid of it and have no idea where I got it from. Its absolutly disgusting. I have tried every cream possible, and nothing is working to stop the itch. I have used tea tree oil, and that seems to dry it up. I finally decided after reading many stories that vinegar helps fungus to use white vinegar. It stopped the itching, made my skin clear, and I think it killed that nasty mess on contact. I have been spraying my carpets and shower with vinegar and water mixed everyday to keep further fungus from coming near me. I hope this helps someone else with ringworm."

[YEA] 03/13/2009: Sherry from New Orleans, Louisiana writes: "My Grandmother would always cure the family's ringworm with white vinegar and a penny. She would soak the penny in a cup of vinegar over night and then place the penny on the site with a bandage. The results are amazing in that the ring worm would began drying the same day and the itching would almost cease immediately. I reminded my brother of this remedy when my niece had a ring worm. He stated that he soaked the penny over night but only applied the penny periodically ( no bandage) and it worked just like always! Thank you grandma!"
