[NAY] 12/27/2007: Beth from Phx, AZ writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar (mole removal) I've been using apple cider vinegar to try and removal a mole and the skin surrounding it has become very red, raw and slightly swollen. I hate to stop the treatment as it's not complete, but I think the reaction is actually the ACV rather than the bandaid. Is there some way to avoid this? Also, Ted's Mole Theory link on the website does not connect. Can you refer me to where I can read this? Thanks. Please post this on the website."

[YEA] 12/27/2007: Vicki from Mcminnville, TN writes: "I was searching this sight on how to get rid of moles. I had a pink,' pea sized mole on my face. I was very self concious of it and didn't have the money to pay a dermatologist to remove it. I came across the apple cider vinegar remedy so I decided to try it. I soaked a cotton ball in ACV and put it on the mole with a bandaid each night at bed time. The mole started to turn black like a scab and by the 7th day (Christmas)it completely fell off. Of course I have a pink scar in its place but that will fade in time. I am putting vitamin E oil on it now. I am very happy with the results. Thank you!!!!"

[NAY] 12/08/2007: Ann from Winnipeg, Canada writes: "After reading the many testimonies of how the application of ACV on moles removes them I decided to try it. I followed the directions as follows. Before going to bed for the night I put ACV on a little piece of cotton, put it over the mole, and then put a bandage over it to hold it in place. I did this several nights in a row. My understanding is that the mole(s) will shrink, may darken, and eventually fall off within a week or so. Well, not the case with me. Yes, my mole did flatten down, but instead of the mole falling off it has buried itself so deep into my skin that once the mole / scab-like formation came off it left a pit in my skin that looks like a cigarette burn only smaller in dimension as the moles that I treated were smaller than the dimension of a cigarette. It also left the surrounding skin burnt looking and very red. One of the moles that I treated with the ACV was about the size of a pinhead, however the pitted scar that I now have is 5mm in diameter. My regret is that I treated all three of the moles I had at the same time instead of testing it with just one. Unfortunately, two of them are in places that are visible at all times (on my neck and the other on my face). I would NEVER suggested anyone doing this unless they would rather have a deep pit in their skin and larger in diameter than the mole they have right now."

[YEA] 09/16/2007: Lotta from New York, New York writes: "I had a raised mole and one on my tummy that just did not look healthy. I have not been a big fan of doctors,(sorry all you doctors out there you are good to have around if one needs) but did not feel I needed one for this and what I have heard did not sound to appealing. Thought it got to be a better way. And then a came across this website just down my ally. So I read about the ACV could remove moles so I tried it. Took a little bit of cotton soaked it ACV and put a band aid over the moles. Did this twice a day, and within a week I would say it dried up turned black and fell off under was new pink skin. AMAZING! What else can you say!!"

On impulse I peeled it, revealing a dark spot underneath that looks it was going to turn into a mole or that this method didn't remove my mole successfully. I was very disappointed."

[NAY] 05/27/2007: Tyler from Springfield, USA writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar (remedy): This thing did NOT work. I used it on a mole and it came off... yea... and it CAME BACK!!! The only thing worse than having a mole is removing it, having everyone say things like, "remember that ugly mole," and than have it COME BACK!!! I need this thing gone!!! I'm young still, so I'm not open to many resources. When I found this stuff in the cabinet I was jumping for joy. I applied it like crazy, peeled of the mole, and it CAME BACK. Well, I have to be fair, it's not exactly "Back" yet, but it left a same-size dark red mark that looks like its turning back into the mole. Please guys, this really means a lot to me. Other than this mole, I look really good. I LOVED my few weeks without it. All the girls were hitting on me and more people were hanging out with me. And now this? Come on seriously... please someone E-mail me with the solution to my problems... Sincerely, unlucky"

[YEA] 03/21/2007: Anne from Manassas, VA writes: "Apple cider vinegar cured my diarrhea caused by milk and other foods. I switched to Lactose Free Milk while taking ACV and eventually the diarrhea was gone. I continued to take ACV 3x/day (2 tsp in 8 oz of water before each meal) for 2 months when I decided to see if drinking regular skim milk (as I used to) would cause the diarrhea again. To my surprise, I no longer get diarrhea to any foods, not even to milk. So thank you God for ACV. Another good effect I had as a result of taking ACV is the disappearance of a couple of moles."

[YEA] 03/10/2007: Emily from Saylorsburg, PA writes: "(Apple Cider Vinegar & Garlic, Alternating)' I'm new to this whole home remedy thing and was overjoyed when I immediately got results. I'm 13 years old with fair skin and am suffering from a small mole on my face. My family doesnt have all the money in the world and when the dermetologist said I would have to have plastic surgery to get it removed (and the price was a good $500-$600 bucks) I thought my mole would be with me forver. I've been on the Apple Cider Vinegar/Garlic (I alternate) for only a day but immediately I've noticed a difference. For one, the color (light brown) of the mole has nearly disappeared and the vinegar seems to be eating away at it. I was so exciting, if that happens in only a day what'll happen in a week? <3 I feel like theres finally hope to get this awful thing off my face. But if you're going to try this remedy be sure not to get it on any skin surrounding it or it will be red and swell. Other than that this has worked great! Thanks so much and for all you reading this. goodluck!"

[YEA] 03/03/2007: Sally from Sydney, Australia writes: "hi, I just bought some 'double strength 8 % acidity' ACV ( organic, with the mother) Is the double strength ok to drink? Do you only use half the amount you usually would? Do you add double the baking soda or double the water? Also, would all unpasturized organic acv have the mother, or should you look for the ones that say 'contains the mother'? would it be ok to use non organic acv as general toner on face and body? as I can't afford to do this with the organic stuff. Also : feedback- mole cure I used 'normal strength' acv for about 4 days on a mole, the mole turned into a scab and I forcably (gently) peeled it off The mole is gone, but (a small) scab formed where it was-I only did it less than a week ago, It is healing well, but looks like it may scar alittle, would letting the mole fall of by itself mabey stop it from scarring, or if you didnt peel it off would it re-attatch itself?
p.s. I got a bit of a rash from the band aid- switched to medical tape ( on a role) which is much better for my sensitive skin-I also stuck it to the back of my hand first-to absorb some of the glue. This is my favorite site online thanx -sorry for rambling on & on"

[YEA] 02/01/2007: Amy from Richmond, VA writes: "I have very fair skin and have been plagued with moles most of my life. I have them all over my face and the rest of my body. The cost for getting them surgically removed is ridiculous and I decided to search the internet for 'home cures. I tried ACV on a mole on my side and after about 4 days, it scabbed over and fell off. The only bad thing is that the ACV dripped off of the cotton ball and onto healthy skin, causing a reaction. I've started using the small, round band-aids and they are easier for spot treatment. All that is left of the mole on my side is a pink circle that will probably go away soon. I'm treating 5 more now. The 2 on my chest fell off after 3 days and I'm now trying one on my face (yikes!). I can't wait for them all to heal! Thanks!"
Replies08/15/2008: Amy from Richmond, VA replies: "I just wanted to update on treating my moles with ACV. I've gotten rid of at least 7 moles now with this method (2 of which were on my face). None have grown back and it's been a year and a half! All that's left are some light pink, slightly raised scars that are hardly noticeable (much better than a big brown mole anyway). I've gotten a few emails regarding the method I used to get rid of my moles and I thought I should post it.
First of all, I can't stress enough that I would use the small, round band-aids. They help to keep the acv contained without letting it drip and "burn" healthy skin.
I get those round (or square) cotton pads from the q-tip aisle and I tear off a small piece of that. The size should be able to fit on the small white square in the middle of the circle band-aid.
Let the cotton piece soak up acv and fold if necessary to fit it within the square on the band-aid (make sure the cotton piece is saturated but not actually dripping). The purpose of the extra cotton is to get more acv to the mole, making the process much quicker than just putting acv directly on the band-aid.
Put the band-aid on the mole. Some acv is sure to escape on your skin so it'll feel wet but I wouldn't worry about it. Lay a regular size band-aid over top if you are having difficulty getting the round one to stay in place. I usually it in place overnight and let it air dry during the day (especially if it is in a noticeable place like on your face. I did this method on one I had right between my eyes if you can imagine).
If the mole is somewhere that it's not going to be visible (or if you don't care) you can change the band-aid and wear the new one all day. This just speeds up the process. It usually takes about 3 days to a week for it to disappear.
I only used Vaseline if it was necessary. For most of the moles, it wasn't. However, if the surrounding area starts looking really red or dry, I'd smother it pretty good with Vaseline (or the whatever you use: Neosporin, aloe, certain essential oils) just to keep it moisturized. That is the reason I stress using the round band-aids though. They really keep the surrounding skin from getting bad. I didn't really have any problems after I switched to them.
Just so you know though, when the moles start to die they do get a reddish ring around them sometimes. That seems to be normal. Also, if the moles start to swell within the first or second application, that means it's working. The moles should flatten and harden soon after (they might turn dark brown or white like dead skin). I wouldn't pick at them since that'll probably irritate the healthy skin growing underneath the dead mole. You can probably stop applying the acv once the mole hardens and turns into a scab although you should use your own judgment. Every body is different!
Any problems or questions, don't hesitate to email me.

[YEA] 07/09/2010: Dee from West Hartford, Ct writes: "Apple cider vinegar/garlic paste worked in eliminating my flat mole the size of a pencil eraser!!! After trying horseradish for two weeks, and apple cider vinegar alone for two weeks, I was frustrated and worried. The mole changed and a red circle surrounded it (I didn't use vaseline but should have in hindsight). It looked worse than ever! I decided my last attempt would be the acv/garlic paste which I applied 3-4 times a day (just applied it with a q-tip and let it dry on). At night I soaked cotton pulled off a q-tip and rolled it into a tiny ball the size of the mole and covered it with a bandaid. In the morning I removed it with cotton soaked in peroxide. A scab started forming by the second day and the whole thing fell off in two weeks. Once I was sure it was fully scabbed, I stopped the acv/garlic paste and just waited patiently for it to fall off. I've since applied coconut oil everynight and the red circle is completely gone, All that is left is now is a tiny little line that is fading each day. I am so happy and relieved!!! Thank you all for sharing!!!!"

[YEA] 01/01/2010: Paintinpastel from Penticton, British Columbia, Canada writes: "Apple Cider Vinegar and Garlic combined cured my mole.
I had an mole which resembled a pimple, flesh colored, raised, not to big.so I decided to try the method of removal with garlic, I taped garlic on the mole for 1 hour in total, then removed and let the mole air out for a while, then I cut the mole with scissors (it didn't hurt, just bled a little) waited for the bleeding to stop, than held organic apple cider vinegar on the mole for 20 minute intervals about 4 times,
Day 1
mole first swells, turns black
Day 2
Mole is black and hard, skin around mole is irritated
mole falls off during sleep
Day 3
Skin is healing, a tiny scab, flat,
the skin around the mole was very burned and irritated it looked discusting, but it's healing really fast by constant cleaning, and application of vitamin e (from first aid kit), triple antibiotic ointment(polysporin or neosporin will do), white and black spruce pitch salve (which is proven to have healing, antimicrobial and anti-cancerous properties) and healing oils seems to be healing quite fast, but not yet healed, this is my 4th day."

[YEA] 11/29/2007: Robyn from London, UK writes: "I was sceptical but desperate to get rid of a large mole just below my collar bone. I googled and found this site and decided to give it a try. I used a mixture of garlic and ACV (slicing the garlic and leaving the slices in the ACV and changing the garlic twice a day). It took four days to dry out the mole, which I then picked off (a little too early perhaps). The skin around the mole did get burnt and I dont think this can really be helped, but I healed the area using Vit E oil and antiseptic cream. There is now only a small scar, but my parter also has a scar after having a mole surgically removed some years ago so I think that is invitable and I would rather the scar then the mole. I am working on a second one now! Thanks so much for this site and your suggestions!"

BLOODROOT PASTE

[YEA] 07/31/2009: Lisa from Mabou, Nova Scotia writes: "Bloodroot, grown often as an ornamental in gardens has proven to be an amazing remedy for the removal of facial moles!!! I had on, dark brown mole on my chin that grew darker and larger over the years. I stumbled upon this remedy and decided to try it. Absolutely amazing! The pulverized root mixed with a little cayenne pepper and a drop of grapefuit seed extract was applied to the lightly scratched surface of the mole. This was covered with a bandaid and left overnight. In the morning I applied a hot compress for 1 minute. Then the bandaid was removed. A scab had formed over the surface of the mole. I applied an antibiotic ointment over this. It is important to let the scab fall of in it's own time! After three (!) days the scab fell off and my mole I had lived with for 15 years is COMPLETELY gone!!!"

While the process is not for the faint of heart, it really does work. The whole process took approx. 1 month, but if you follow the instructions, it is pretty amazing. Now, all I have is a little pink spot where the mole was and this is only after 1 week. I would not, however, recommend using it on your face. In the beginning, it is alittle painful. I think this area would be too sensitive."

[WARNING!] 05/09/2008: Donna from Washington, DC writes: "I used the bloodroot salve almost three weeks ago. I only used a little bit on four small moles, probably the size of a pin head and covered the area with a bandaid. The next morning I had redenss and swelling under my eyes and scabs where the moles were. It looked like I was in a fight! I called the company and was very frustrated. The guy told me that the reaction was normal, and that it would heal. Within the next two days the scab came off of one which is healed, but light in color. On the left side of my face was the bigger mole. It was a little bigger than a pin head, but once the mole fell off the area was bigger. That area has also healed, but is white in color with some darkness around the circled area. Once again I contacted the company and the guy stated that the skin would repigment over time. The problem that I am experiencing now is on my left cheek where I removed three small moles. My excema has flared up, which is making my skin look terrible. I am trying to be patient with this process but it is very frustating. I would not advise using the cream on your face."
Replies[WARNING!] 05/10/2008: Anonymous from Edmond, OK replies: "WARNING! Used Bloodroot Paste combined with Zinc Oxide 7 days again. It has been a nightmare and I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this. Especially, if you are like me and had a few small facial moles that really weren't even noticable. They are now. One eschar has fallen out onto a cotton ball but left behind some white matter. The others are still attached and one is swollen and looks infected. One in sunken into the side of my nose and I imagine I'll have a crater once it falls out. The surrounding area that I applied the Bloodroot paste turned into a mess of pustules and spots of dying skin. So, far, they have started to dry up a bit but I've been unable to leave the house due to the redness, swelling and unsightly mess all over my face. I have broken out on my neck and my entire face with red bumps. Obviously, I am either allergic or the formula was very strong ( Ebay). I am now waiting to see how severe the damage will be and it is a waiting game to find out how badly I am scarred. I feel stupid and so angry at myself that I attempted this on my face. All the glowing reports are so misleading. Nothing could have prepared me for the way this product affected my skin. It literally appeared that my skin was being eaten away by acid~ Don't do this."
05/13/2008: Joyce from Joelton, Tn replies: "Moles and Bloodroot: Sorry you having trouble with Cansema (bloodroot). I have used black salve off and on for about l0 years or more; mostly on actinic keratosis on my back. I never found it to be as painful as many of those who write in have. It is just every once in awhile (for the first few days) it feels like someone has yanked a string, controlling a bunch more strings under the area where you apply it. The itching from the bandaid used to cover it is as bad or worse for me because I have a problem with adhesive tape. About 3 or 4 days after initial application, the surface area scab was ready to come off leaving an shallow ulcer behind. I never had any problem with it healing or discoloration, but then I don't see my back as easily as you do your face. Your loss of pigment is probably not a lasting problem and will correct itself. Personally I would consider a small sunken area a blessing and much less of a problem than the results of a lot of post surgical patients I have seen!"
07/05/2010: Gail from Sacramento, California replies: "Sorry to hear some are having bad experiences with bloodroot salve. The best black salve I've used for years contains bloodroot, galangal, sheep sorrel and red clover. It works on surface skin moles and warts as well as tumors beneath the skin because it kills the growth and it's roots underneath the skin. ESSENTIAL to know however, is that the user should leave the paste ONLY 12 hours. Then the paste should be thoroughly washed off removing every particle of the salve, preferably with peroxide. Vitamin E should then be applied to the wound itself, and vaseline to the bandage to prevent sticking. The wound should be redressed the same way, vitamin E on the wound and vaseline on a clean bandage 2-4 times per day. It is ESSENTIAL the user understand that to remove moles with roots or tumors beneath the skin, that the area must be kept very moist and completely covered. The growth will return ONLY if you have not killed the roots. Be prepared to witness the mini "volcano" reaction as your body pushes bits of the growth right through the skin, bit by bit. Resist the temptation to pull or prod anything off. Allow your body to push out the debris on it's own time. Just keep the area clean, moist and covered and your body will do the rest. If you've had the misfortune of harming or burning facial skin, vitamin E will help repair skin damage at the cellular level. Be sure to use natural vitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) liberally on those areas at night. If facial growths or moles are small and appear to be without roots, a good alternative to black salve that isn't as strong is ACV or Logol's iodine. But again, apply vitamin E to surrounding skin as they can also burn skin. Many health experts also recommend taking vitamin A internally to protect the skin from further unwanted skin growths. I hope this helps!"
EC: Thanks, Gail! Your feedback is being cross-posted to the Bloodroot page under "Application Tips".

[YEA] 04/17/2008: Peggy from Gulf Breeze, FL writes: "About a year ago, I decided to use bloodroot to remove a pencil- eraser-sized mole on the left side of my chin close to the jaw line just below my mouth. I chose the bloodroot/DMSO combination since I understood that the DMSO would speed the process through the skin. I have to say that I was not prepared for what happened. Once I had started the process, though, there was no turning back. I covered just the mole with the bloodroot paste and kept it covered. I reapplied the paste for about a week. First, the mole turned a cheesy looking white. Then, it scabbed over and had a white ring completely around the edge of it. By this time, the whole thing was about the size of a dime. My jaw swelled up and there were shooting pains in it that kept me from sleeping. This really scared me and I contacted someone for advice. I was advised after about six days of applying the salve to stop applying it, just keep the scab area covered, swab around the OUTSIDE of it with peroxide and it would loosen and fall off. This seemed to take a little longer than I anticipated, but when I added a little warm compress, it truly did pop right out. You certainly don't want to rush this - it has to fall out on its own. The back of the "mole" was grayish and smoothe with little dots on it that I assume were the tiny blood vessels that had supplied blood to it. The spot where the mole had been looked like I had taken a paper punch and punched out a circle of skin. I thought I was in for a bad scar, but I started putting vitamin E on it and organic coconut oil. It's been a year now and the spot is not very noticable to anyone but me, and that's because I know its there. I continue to keep it oiled and also use anti-scar products just for good measure. The faint of heart should NOT use bloodroot, especially on their face. Using it on a floppy mole in some inconspicious place covered by clothing would probably be a lot less scary. My mole was fairly large and well anchored, and on my face - not the floppy kind on a stalk. I do think it is amazing stuff, BUT extreme care needs to be taken when using it."

[WARNING!] 04/15/2008: Alex from London, United Kingdom writes: "I tried bloodroot bought off ebay last autum (2007) I do like herbal alternate remedies and was quite excited when reading about bloodroot. Looking at my moles for years (and being vain) I rejoiced at the possibility of having them vanish in an easy and scarless fashion (as proclaimed) Got a bit carried away though and decided to eradicate all about 30-40 off them on front and back of torso at once. Thought if they do take a few weeks to heal and might be unseemly in the mean time (plus I won't be able to use the sunbed to avoid pigment scarring) it would be better to do them all at once, rather than one after the other (which would have taken month and month...) The result was major discomfort - after 2-3 applications my body seemed to turn into a sea of skin irritaion and itching!!! It really did drive me up the wall and since there was no position in which I could lie painless and itchfree (forget Paracetamol - won't help a bit), I did not really sleep for 2 weeks.
Now for the benefit of the procedure. Some moles fell off pretty soon (especially the more raised ones) and have vanished hence. Mostly though - especially the smaller ones were still there when the scabs came off and I still have slight reddening around them. For the bigger flat ones - one fell off (with about 5mm of underneath skin tissue leaving a 8mm itching crater in the skin - took about another 10 days to close up and the result is a reddish smoth round scar as big as the mole there used to be. Several other bigger moles did prevail as well and are now suspiciouse looking, i.e. they are now multicoloured and less regular shaped. It does also seem a bit as if I have a few more tiny moles in vicinity to where treated mole on my abdomen. (cannot swear on that though). The post-bloodroot look of the multicolored moles did get me worried and my GP had two biopsised. Fortunately the biopsies were benign. They will still cut them both out completly to make sure though(ergo in the end the bloodroot did help me get rid of two more big moles, by causing the NHS to pay for their excision). If someone were to ask me - don't use bloodroot for the heck of it. Make sure that the moles you treat are really draining your self worth and not just little beauty spots. Consider the options - when I had the biopsis done the process was much more 'comfortable' that the bloodroot procedure, it did not hurt, did not itch and left less scarring yet."
