Mite Infestation Cures
"Mites, along with ticks, belong to the subclass Acarina (also known as Acari) and the class Arachnida. Mites are among the most diverse and successful of all the invertebrate groups. They have exploited an incredible array of habitats, and because of their small size (most are microscopic) most go totally unnoticed. Many live freely in the soil or water, but there are also a large number of species that live as parasites on plants or animals and even some that feed on mold.
Some of the plant pests include the so called spider mites (family Tetranychidae), thread-footed mites (family Tarsonemidae), and the gall mites (family Eriophyidae). Among the species that attack animals are members of the Sarcoptic Mange mites (family Sarcoptidae), which burrow under the skin. Demodex mites (family Demodicidae) are parasites that live in or near the hair follicles of mammals, including humans. Perhaps the best-known mite, though, is the house dust mite (family Pyroglyphidae)." (Wikipedia)

TED'S REMEDIES
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "I am currently looking into herbs and other supplements such as black hull walnut tinctures and other natural herbal supplements that have insecticidal properties too.
However, the two things that are most important that is proven, at least with me, is 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 glass of water twice a day plus the borax. However borax is important, the baking soda comes in a second of importance.
In general, those two remedies are by far the most important.
p.s. I am following up some eccentric nuns who are using some herbal extracts and cereals that along with borax and baking soda completely got rid of the problem However, I suspect their remedies were mostly plant based insecticidals in alcoholic tincture which killed them. A simple safe insecticidal remedies might be neem oil mixed with some small amount of vodka, along with borax and baking soda. Of course, I can't confirm this, but I am looking into this. In case you are wondering what I am doing!"

01/03/2012: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "I would deeply appreciate if the contents of this post could be sent to Ted in Bangkok as soon as possible because I believe it contains the single most important discovery about demodex mite infestation made in the last 50 years. Please read on:How long does it take a kill a demodex mite?
According to this medical article (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1772908/?tool=pmcentrez&rendertype=abstract), 100% strength tea tree oil, alcohol, caraway oil, or dill weed oil will do it in 15 minutes. I've seen other estimates as low as five minutes for tea tree oil, but 15 minutes seems to be the generally accepted figure among medical researchers.
Yet an extraordinary woman named Toni, who lives in Las Vegas, can kill a demodex mite instantly, using a 100% natural product you can find on any supermarket shelf. In fact, you may even have this in your kitchen cupboard already.
Toni has suffered with serious illnesses, including demodex infestation, for the last seven years. Over that time, she has tried most of the usual treatments, without success. So she started her own tireless experiments, using natural substances and testing them on herself, to see if she could find something that eradicates demodex.
Toni doesn't give up easily. And she eventually found it - a simple compound that will turn an active demodex mite into a corpse on contact.
Hard to believe? This video shows an early version of her experiment where the substance wasn't mixed thoroughly enough - the mite was still killed in 50 seconds:
http://www.delusionalinsects.com/styled-17/qt-2/index.html
The video first shows an active demodex mite taken from her face on a microscope slide. She then adds a clear liquid containing blobs of whitish material - and 50 seconds later the mite is dead.
So what kills these mites quicker than any other known substance on earth?
The pharmaceutical companies are gonna love this - it's a very small amount of dry mustard powder well mixed into a little water.
Please note that pre-mixed mustard paste in tubes and jars won't work because of the preservatives and stabilisers in it. You must use dry mustard powder, also sometimes referred to as mustard flour.
After six weeks of using it topically, Toni hasn't found a single mite, and is tickle-free.
I've edited Toni's own words to cut down on the length of this post. Here's her list of ways to use it:
CAUTION: When using mustard on your skin, remember that MORE IS NOT BETTER. If you use more mustard than you should, YOU WILL BLISTER AND BURN YOUR SKIN, and this will leave a scab which will take at least a week to heal. I know this because it happened to me. If in doubt, leave some out.
Before applying any of the following mixtures, test them out on a very small and unobtrusive area of your skin first by using a matchstick or toothpick to apply a tiny dot. If you feel it warming uncomfortably after a couple of minutes, you need to dilute your mixture more.
And DON'T GET IT IN YOUR EYES - be very careful in this area.
1. I take about one teaspoon of mustard powder, mix it with an equal or lesser amount of water, and combine both well to make a smooth paste with no lumps or clumps. Add this to anything like body wash and/or shampoo and use it daily. Let it sit on your skin for about five minutes, then rinse off. This is safe to use on private parts.
2. If you mix it with body lotion, you can apply it after your mustard shower/shampoo, and leave it on all day if you like. You can also filter the mustard and water mix through a coffee filter before adding it to your body lotion if you prefer.
3. It's important to note that once the mustard dries, it stops working. For all-day protection, you need to use something that will keep it hydrated. The lotion I'm using, which works best for this, is called Swanson's Brand Pycnogenol Cream. You can also try using glycerine as a carrier instead. Or try it with an oil like sweet almond or extra virgin olive oil with a few drops of lavender essential oil mixed in.
4. I like to take about one heaping teaspoon of mustard powder and mix it with about one ounce of hair conditioner, leave it on for a couple of hours, or until it starts to dry, then I rinse it out.
5. In a spritzer or spray bottle, I mix the dry mustard with Infusium hair treatment and use it on my scalp and hair during the daytime and before I go to bed - don't rinse this out.
6. For something that will help the mustard penetrate the skin, I have used a topical glycolic. Forget the liquid ones and get MD Forte Hand and Body Cream. But if you decide you want to try this out, YOU MUST CONSIDERABLY REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF MUSTARD USED OR YOU WILL BURN. This is because glycolics enhance the effect of the mustard. In this case, less is definitely more.
7. Of all the ways I've tried so far, just washing head to toe daily for the past six weeks with a tiny amount of dry mustard mixed with my soaps and applied after showers by mixing a tiny amount with my lotions has made me almost feel like I don't have anything going on anymore.
TONI'S TIPS:
1. You can make your own body scrub using baking soda, dry mustard, aloe gel, and antibacterial soap.
2. Use an empty bottle to mix a single body wash, shampoo, or body lotion "dose" to avoid mucking up an entire bottle. That way you'll have a fresh application every time.
3. For body lotion, if you don't want to make up a fresh batch daily, you can make up no more than a week's worth in an empty bottle, then keep it in the refrigerator. These lotions have preservatives to allow them to be kept unrefrigerated, but if you add anything to them, it changes them, so altering their shelf life.
HOW TED COULD HELP:
1. I believe (and Toni agrees) that this treatment would be a lot quicker and more efficient in mite eradication if an effective carrier method could be devised to take the mustard (or its anti-mite component) directly into infested hair follicles and sebaceous plugs. I'm not sure about using 1% hydrogen peroxide for this purpose.
One suggestion is to use Castor Oil which is highly penetrative due to its low molecular weight - and also has ricin, a poison which may work in tandem with the mustard. Ted's expertise is needed here.
2. Could an internal mustard remedy be devised or would it be neutralised by stomach acid? Ted's expertise is needed again.
3. Dosage refinement research for simple topical, skin penetration, and internal applications is needed to ensure utmost safety. Again, Ted's expertise is required for this.
4. Could this mustard formula be used on animals safely or is mustard an allergenic for them? Ted would know this.
5. Anything else Ted can turn his amazing intelligence to in order to make this more efficient, safer, and easier.
That's all I can think of for the moment (as I hear you breathe a sigh of relief). But I can't tell you all how excited I am by Toni's discovery. An instant kill for demodex is something that's unheard of in medical and veterinary research. It took an extraordinary woman with extraordinary courage and persistence to find it.
I'm proud to know her."
01/04/2012: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Toni never stops experimenting and trying to refine the dosages of mustard powder she uses and recommends. In the post above, she says:"4. I like to take about one heaping teaspoon of mustard powder and mix it with about one ounce of hair conditioner, leave it on for a couple of hours, or until it starts to dry, then I rinse it out."
She has now emailed me to say she believes that 1/2 teaspoon of mustard powder with one ounce of of hair conditioner is actually better for leaving on the scalp like a conditioning pack/treatment.
She's also asked me to emphasize that when using mustard, you should never feel burning or even warming sensations. If you do, you're using too much and you need to further dilute whatever you're putting on your skin. Remember: a little goes a long way.
Finally, you need to do the mustard regimen consistently (daily) if you are to successfully deal with the problem. Since we don't yet know what effect mustard has on demodex eggs, it's safest to assume that they're all going to hatch.
Most of those hatchlings will emerge onto the surface of the skin and be killed by the mustard as long as it's hydrated. This will prevent vast quantities of new eggs from being laid since those new hatchlings are either virgin females in search of a new home, or males looking for a female to impregnate.
As I've written elsewhere here, the safest strategy is to kill all the females. Most "research" websites agree that males only live for 15 days, but give different figures for female lifespans, varying from 15 to 24 to 60 days. So I would err on the side of caution and keep doing this 90 days.
You'll want to anyway, since the mustard will leave your skin and hair feeling more alive and cleaner than it's ever been. Plus, it kills fungi and bacteria.
And get adventurous - try using it in cooking and as a condiment.
I've specifically requested the Administrators here to forward the post above to Ted to see if he can refine and improve what Toni has discovered because I don't know his email address. So watch this space for his response..."
01/06/2012: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Since I put up my website (http://www.delusionalinsects.com) I now get lots of email from people asking for help and advice (I advise most of them to come here for additional expert asistance). As a result, I wasn't able to do my first mustard treatment yesterday as planned because I was replying to emails until almost 3am. So I just went to bed.
But as usual, my tickles started up and I couldn't get to sleep. So I decided to get out of bed, make my mustard mixes, and take the first treatment.
I'm six feet tall, pretty slim (about 160lb). My skin has always been super-sensitive such that I've never been able to take daily showers without it screaming blue murder. My normal routine, before all my insect mayhem, was to take a shower once a week.
Body wash: I mixed one level teaspoon of mustard powder using a measuring spoon with another of cold water, mixed well into a runny paste, and allowed it to stand for 10 minutes to allow the mustard to develop its full potency. To this, I added four ounces of body wash and mixed it thoroughly to ensure a homogenous result.
Body lotion: I used the same amount of mustard powder and water, mixed it well with three ounces of hydrating body lotion, and added five drops of glycerine, then mixed again thoroughly.
In the shower, I massaged the body wash mix well into my skin and experienced slight warming on my forehead, eyebrows, and high on my cheekbones, all of which are mite hotspots and all of which had incurred severe drying and peeling effects from both the topical and internal borax treatments.
Before I could even apply some more raw body wash to dilute it, it quickly faded with no ill effects. I left my skin coated with this for five minutes before rinsing and towelling off. I managed to do my the upper halves of both eyelids (another hotspot area) by dipping my finger into the mix, removing any excess, closing my eyes tightly, and carefully massaging it in, staying well away from my eyelashes. Once dry, I started to get some crawling sensations that would stop almost immediately.
After doing my entire body, I still had half the mix left over, which I'll use tonight. So, for me, I think a fresh single application of body wash will from now on consist of half a teaspoon of mustard powder with two ounces of body wash. As Toni says, more mustard is not better, everyone's skin is different, and you should only use the amount of mustard you feel comfortable with.
I then applied the lotion mix and massaged it in well. This, too, produced slightly warmer effects in the above areas, as well as on some parts of my neck and jaw. Again, I chose not to dilute and had no ill effects after it soon faded. This was enough to do my entire body with very little left over. But I will slightly lessen the amount of mustard powder from now on to about 3/4 of a teaspoon. This is what I feel is most suitable for my super-sensitive skin.
After the lotion had been massaged well into my skin, I had no crawling or tickles and I found thousands of sticky gel-like blobs all over my body, particularly in areas with hair growth. These could be any of the following:
1. Dead dry skin broken down by the mustard and formed into globules by my massaging.
2. An unwanted reaction between something in my body lotion and the thick glycerine.
3. Masses of dead demodex congealed into blobs by my massaging.
Tonight, I intend to omit the glycerine and see what happens.
The results: I finally got to bed just after 5am and fell asleep straight away with no tickles. I slept until 9am when I woke to visit the bathroom. No tickles started up as they normally do when this happens. But, as usual, my mind started racing thanks to the tardive akathisia, so I took 10mg of Valium and fell back asleep again until 1pm and woke with no tickles - again, a first for me. And eight hours' sleep - pure bliss!
My skin still feels soft and moist. At 4.30pm (dusk - when the mites always start going to town on me) the only place I had a few tickles was the one part of my body I forgot to do last night (well, two actually) - my ears.
It's now 11. 30pm and I've had about 25 tickles in my eyebrows, cheeks, and along my jawline for the whole day. None in my groin, anus, trunk, and just one on my thigh.
This is unquestionably the most amazing result I've ever had with these pests, but I intend to continue the internal borax in tandem with it to attack them from inside as well as out. Payback for all the torment they've given me. Give them nowhere to run.
I have a friend with a bad collembola infestation and accompanying lesions. He, too, tried Toni's mustard remedy last night.
He didn't do the shower but made up the lotion mix and applied it. He also mixed some mustard powder with Vaseline to make a balm and applied it to a few trouble spots before sleeping. He had one single bite at 5am which was stopped immediately using the Vaseline balm.
This morning, he reported finding more than the usual number of dead ejected plugs on his skin and bedding. More important, he feels, is that he found hundreds of little "floaters" in the toilet after voiding his bowels, many of them plugs and bugs.
He's very excited by the possibility that topical mustard applications might also have a systemic effect that flushes the collembola from his gut. I believe it's very possible (think nicotine and lidocaine skin patches). :)Since receiving his report, I, too, have visited the bathroom and found that my stools are now dark green (my plugs are almost overwhelmingly pale green). Plus, I, too, found many plugs floating on the surface of the water. This is the first time this has ever happened.
Well, good night all. I'm off now to do my mustard shower and lotion application."
01/06/2012: Ted from Bangkok, Thailand replies: "Well I will look into that, but is harder to find here, but what I found is an equivalent d limonene (lemon oil), a known contact insecticide is a lot easier to handle, and also kills in seconds, as well as clove oil, cinnamon oil, pepper oil, etc. Also mustard powder in Thailand I cannot get hold of in Thailand, so I have tried wasabi (which may be harder to find in the States but easier to find here). Wasabi and mustard powder contains thiocyanates, which has anti cancer properties and may be responsible for some of the effects on demodex mites also as it is the least toxic of the cyanides in humans also.
They are also listed in U.S. patents as a contact insecticide (red pepper, mustard, clove, cinnamon, etc), but the most well known is d limonene, because it is the major component of lemon oil and orange oil, and using lemon oil or orange oil would do the job if mustard can't be found. The one thing is both are known skin irritants, that's why I don't post them, but I will if there is the understanding of them.
However, if killing them is desired combined with the use or skin irritants, you need to top out these with lavender oil, liberally to overtake the feelings of skin irritants, so it doesn't get to you. The other thing that is required is DMSO, so you can use the skin irritants (mustard or d limonene) to less then 3%, otherwise it may hurt you.
The reason I didn't pursue these areas of research is the precise measurements needed to kill it so that it doesn't irritate the skin. I have all of them for tests, but I will do it. What I am certain is d limonene will kill any insects no matter what they are and they are contact insecticide. So getting the time down to seconds is really not necessary the problem is getting the use of these remedies that doesn't irritate becomes paramount. The key factor is DMSO which is a known carrier that can penetrate the skin can bring any contact insecticide such as demodex mites killed is the real answer. Because these are known it becomes important that the anti inflammatory oils such as camphor, or lavender oils be used. I will try to get mustard powder in Thailand (I have for some time now) but is not available right now, but will pursue that, in the meantime, will try to make at least a working prototype of d limonene, lavender oil and DMSO in proper combinations. However I must say that DMSO 70% is disinformation, DMSO 100% works a lot better if you talk about deep tissue penetrant.
Once this working formula is in effect (structure), then you can replace the irritant with mustard oil (instead of d limonene) in similar proportion or at least half of the proportion then compare the results. The problem about Thailand is I don't have demodex mites around in my neighborhood, but I will try to get one!
All oils are carrier oils, but their penetrant ability is limited, except DMSO. As far as castor oil is concerned they are not good carrier oils, but I have found castor oil mixed with DMSO to be good and castor oil is needed only 25% and 75% DMSO, then you can mixed with mustard powder, mustard oil, or d limonene at say 2.5%. That will take care of killing then you add say 4% or 5% lavender oil on top of that. That's the approximate number I can calculate.
The big problem is most demodex mites lives outside the body and can stay outside for a very very long time so the chances of reinfections are very high, and much of it directly is in sanitizing the house with a concoction of spray that prevents their egg laying ability. That's why the borax and H2O2 is used around the house, at the very least.
Ted"
01/08/2012: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Ted, thank you so much for your wonderfully informative and extremely promising response.I have replied by private email to some of the points you raise and will await your response.
I've suffered with generalised democidosis diagnosed as delusional for almost three years now thanks to medical ignorance, arrogance, and intransigence, and your borax water remedy literally saved my life - for which I will be eternally grateful.
However, some people - and I'm referring specifically to the disabled, the elderly, and the infirm - can have difficulties either ingesting borax or applying it topically several times a day. I know this because I'm one.
And this is why I'm so excited by Toni's mustard discovery which only requires one daily shower and two topical applications. It's still tough and enormously time-consuming for me, but I can manage it.
Ted, thank you so much for all the good you do in the world. You are in my prayers.
With you now on board, I believe we'll beat these demons.
PS - this may be a duplicate post because this board's software keeps logging me out before I've had a chance to finish writing. Then, when I log in again, it deletes everything I've written so I have to start all over again."
01/19/2012: Brenda from Fayetteville, North Carolina replies: "I would like to know where I can buy the cream or where Toni bought her Pycnogenol cream. Checked cvs, they don't carry it. Also does it say MD FORTE on the jar?"
01/29/2012: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "@Brenda - Toni DID say that the Swanson Pycnogenol Cream was the one that worked best "for her. " But she also states that ANY decent hydrating body lotion will do just fine as a mustard carrier. And if you wish to prolong its hydrating time, add five or so drops of pharmacy-grade glycerine to the mix and stir it in well. However, if you insist on using what Toni used, remember she lives in Las Vegas. Your best bet is to enter "Swanson Pycnogenol Cream" into Google and you'll get pointers on where it's available.
MD Forte Hand and Body Cream is a completely different type of product to body lotion - it's a topical glycolic. This means it penetrates the skin, bringing the mustard with it.
PLEASE NOTE: glycolics potentiate the effect of the mustard. So if you wish to try this out, you MUST considerably reduce the amount of mustard powder used or YOU WILL BURN YOUR SKIN.
My advice is to stick with the mustard body wash and the ordinary hydrating body lotion. That's what I'm doing because I can't get Swanson Pycnogenol Cream here in Ireland. It's working fine for me."

I had written before about my ordeal with these terrible bugs. About 3 months ago I noticed that there was some kind of bug getting under my skin. I somehow ended up on this site. I read every posting and tried everything. I mean everything! The first time I used cocunut oil, I saw the bugs shed off my skin, however they did not die. I soaked in borax and baking soda, proxide, ACV, you name it I did it. I bombed my house many times, but they would not go away. It was better, but not gone.
I started to drink ACV, and I saw a great improvemenet. I have been doing this daily 2 to 3 times a day. I take at least 3 tsps a day. Well I am happy to say, they are almost gone.
I spent over $3,000.00 on medicine, which I knew was very poisenous, but I was desperate. I have learned a lot since. Other than the ACV, I washed everything almost daily in hot hot water. Covered matress and pillows with plastic. I can finally feel like I can be at home and feel much better....hey and on top of all, I seem to be loosing lots of weight too. Good luck to you and hope this helps.

Not that I like any of this stuff.
But a few drops in a couple tsps of water cured earmites in one of our indoor-outdoor hunting cats after olive oil failed to do the job.
An hour or so later I rinsed his ears with OTC sterile ear cleaner.
The mites have not returned in over a year.
Cat insecticide products are said to be safe for dogs but not the other way around. I'd keep the snakes off the rugs for a few days."

None of the posts I read, mentions anything about this important step. Some were coming out of my left tear duct yesterday - what a weird sensation. I didn't know what to do: leave them alone & try not to itch; wipe with some solution; rinse with water, what? I also have some coming out in various areas on my face as boils. It can be purchased at graineries in 50lb bags for only 50c lb usually but it must be the type used in grains to kill insects -otherwise it may have arsenic in it. It may help your problem.
One tlbs per 125 lb of body wt is a measure given. It can be taken with foods or juices every day. I take it once a week or so."
10/01/2011: Kelly from Catawissa, Mo, Usa replies: "Great question. I think this one is for Ted. I personally keep his borax solution in a spray bottle, and when I feel the itching or crawling or feel the sandy feeling, I spray the area thoroughly!"
12/09/2011: Veronica H from New York, Ny replies: "Hi I wouldn't drink that thing.... THIS IS WHAT HAS WORKED SO FAR FOR ME.... AND IN ONE DAY ONE CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE ALREADY.My case: infestation of the whole apartment and clothing, including shoes and bath tub ( believe or not). My dog got canine mites, and I am super allergic to their bites ( note: there is a difference btw canine mites and human mites do research yourself)... and the worst is that I was sleeping with the dog so it got very very ugly.
1) Isolate the dog: do not let the dog sleep in your bed ever again.
do not let the dog sleep on sofas etc ever again.... dog has to be trained to his bed and his place in the house.
Bathe the dog with shampoo for mites ( 10 minutes) then apply tea tree oil and also apply revolution once every tree weeks for 6 weeks and then once a month for life as a prevention... a dog that dont have good immune system to keep his mites under control is very likely to get reinfected again and again.
2) research, research and research ( doctors and veterinary wont tell you the whole truth.. Bc they want you to be back and back... they will give you remedies but NO ONE WILL TELL YOU THAT IF YOU DO A EXTENSIVE CLEANING YOU WON'T BE EVER CURED OR IT WILL TAKE FOREVER AND A LOT OF MONEY.
In my special case I cured the dog first and then house and then shoes, clothing and also got rid of the mattress ( what a big difference that made... mattress are very hard to clean and even w/ a mite cover depending on the numbers that would not be enough.)
Meanwhile you are getting rid of mites buy yourself an air mattress they are much better to clean as the mite cannot hide in plastic.
3) SPRAY EVERYTHING WITH WINDEX ( you will need tons of this)
4) For awhile do not sit in the sofa.. Put the sofa up and spray the hell of it with a combination of windex and guess what... spider poison.
MITES ARE FROM THE FAMILY OF SPIDERS.. SO ANYTHING THAT KILL SPIDERS WILL KILL MITE.
eat and seat in places that can be easier to clean like a wood table or plastic, and plastic chair... Forget to be seated in sofas or anything w fabric... Anything like this should be put apart in one room and sprayed w windex and lysol if you want and plus the spider killer spray... Leave everything that is made of fabric apart.. Do not seat on it until is past 3 weeks.. so the bastards will be dead dead!!!
Everytime you're gonna seat on a chair, spray windex, eat on table spray windex BEFORE AND AFTER SEATING.
3)THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT... CLEAN FLOORS WITH A MIX OF WATER, BORAX, SPIDER KILLER AND BLEACH. DO THIS ONCE A WEEK. BUT ONE HAVE TO CLEAN THE FLOORS ONCE A DAY WITH BLEACH AND WATER...EVERYDAY.
CLEAN BATHROOM WITH SAME MIX ABOVE ONCE A WEEK INCLUDING BATHTUB... EVERYTIME YOU SHOWER SPRAY WINDEX, BEFORE LEAVING SPRAY WINDEX ON YOUR FEETS AND AFTER LEAVING SPRAY IT AGAIN.
4) CLOTHING:
CLOTHING SHOULD BE WEAR ONCE...
so put in plastic bags, one for white clothing and other for color.
bedding should be washed daily also... If you have airbed spray it windex before and after going to bed and in the morning when you wake up
wash the clothing with hot water and a mix with borax, bleach and soap. let it act 15 minutes in water before washing and also dry it hot for an hour or more.
5) PERSONAL CLEANING:
take shower twice a day: morning and night.
-if your head itches buy shampoo for lice that will kill them.
- buy soap for acne and take shower with it.
- When you are done... spray with lysol or windex your feet.
-I spray my body with alcohol and it kill them all...
acetone too is good.. That kills them very good on the skin.. for real nothing like acetone.
and then put tea tree oil all over you so run away!!!
then you can put permedrin that is what the doctor will prescribe you and some cream for the itching and take benedryl to help u to sleep at night.
IF YOU DONT CLEAN YOUR HOUSE , CLOTHING AND SOFAS ETC THIS WAY I AM TELLING YOU YOU WONT BE HEALED EVER. BC YOU WILL REINFECT YOURSELF ALL OVER AGAIN...
1st step: house, sofas dont seat on them, seat in easy to clean chair and eat in easy to clean tables..
2nd: get a airmatress if you feel you cannot clean your matress... clean the floor very well before using the new mattress.
3rd: I would get rid of bedding if the intensive cleaning is not working... Get new sheets and also new pillows... but first clean the room very well.
4th: clean yourself and desinfect yourself as many times a day as possible... I am carrying with me alcohol and spray on me everytime I feel something and it works wonders.
5th: whatever you cant clean sent it to dry cleaner and tell them to put poison on it, bc you have an infestation in the house... they know what to do.
clean wardrobes with windex and spider killer spray.
clean whatever place you are putting the clothing and spray the hell of it w windex and spider killer spray...
I DID ALL THIS IN ONE DAY AND FEELING A BIG DIFFERENCE.. MY GOAL IS TO GET RID OF THIS IN A WEEK!!!! I WILL I WILL FIGHT THIS BASTARDS!!!!!!! I HATE THEM!!!
Doctors or vets don't tell you this...RESEARCH!!!!!

12/12/2010: Brendan from Adelaide, South Australia writes: "Hi Guys, I started taking 1/8 teaspoon of borax in one litre of water to try to cure my skin problem which someone suggested might be caused by demodex mites. I had red, flaky, and sometimes stinging, and itchy skin on my forehead, cheeks below my eyes, and around my ears. When I started taking the borax it seemed that the redness of my skin calmed down on about the second day and so I continued even though it felt to be a bit dry.
Its now day 5 and I have stopped taking it. Yesterday it had become so dry and felt really raw so that I couldn't stand it. It stung like I had sunburn. Im wondering if anyone has any idea what could be going on. Also how can I direct a question directly to ted, he seems to have helped a lot of people. I was hoping I could send him a photo and some background info and see if he can shed some light on whats going on. I cant say how much it would mean to me to get this problem under control. Thanks everyone and I wish you all good luck in treating your conditions."
Replies12/12/2010: Self from Ny replies: "Until Ted can get back to you personally:
Borax can dry the skin out, that's part of what may kill the mites. Ted did also recommend this on the rosacea thread (which also deals with mites) that if the skin gets too dry, apply jojoba oil or aloe vera or lavender oil.
Source: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/rosacea.html
Perhaps you need to lessen the borax to 1/16 a teaspoon or less and take it less frequently as well. Some people are more sensitive than others. If it is still too much, stop. This website will tell of some of borax side effects. Most people who take the borax in the small doses listed in E.C. Seem to tolerate them well. But some sensitive people may experience the side effects listed here. Sometimes doses on E.C. have to be tinkered with as we all react differently to different things.

12/11/2010: Kate from Dublin, Ireland writes: "I bought borax in the chemist to see if it would help me to kill the demodex mite. I haven't taken it yet because on the container it states that its only for external use. Is it okay to use, say small amounts-a quarter teaspoon to a litre of water or do I need to get a special type of borax powder? Also would it work on its own or do I need to mix hydrogen peroxide with it? I could only get 6% hydrogen peroxide. Unfortunately I couldn't source the food grade type. Please help as I'm going insane with skin and eye problems. Tea tree has made a small difference with my skin but not my eyes :( Any advice on eliminating this horrible condition would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Kate"
Replies12/11/2010: Self from Ny replies: "Yes, the container does say that but in small amounts, it is ok. As long as it is borax and not boric acid. Well with 6% H2O2, you can dilute it down to 3% by mixing equal parts of each H2O2 and water (half each). Yes, you can mix the borax with H2O2 to make it even more effective (men can take 1/4 teaspoon and women can take 1/8 teaspoon of borax and one cap (use the H2O2 bottle cap) of 3% H2O2 in one liter of drinking water and drink a cup every hour. When it runs out, drink regular water. Also take 1, 000 mg of vitamin C (sodium ascorbate) a day to counteract H2O2 oxidation (e.g. Helps prevent detox headaches)
You can also wet some borax in 1% H2O2 and apply the paste to the area and leave it on, don't rinse. If the skin gets dry, use aloe vera or some natural oil to moisturize it. To dilute H2O2 down to 1.5%, just mix one part 6% H2O2 and 4 parts water (e.g. 1 oz H2O2 and 4 oz water)."

07/15/2010: Fran from Atlanta, Ga, Usa writes: "I recently stumbled across this site, and I know it was a blessing from above. A few months back I started an internal parasite cleanse with wormwood, black walnut hull tincture and cloves also using cascara sagrada and probiotics because of anemia and fatigue. Think something went wrong. Seems at the end of the cleanse, I ended up with these bites from the "inside" of my skin. May have stirred up something. They were really itchy at first. They started on my left arm and center of my chest and seemed to come two marks at a time. My left upper arm was/is covered with bite marks (now slowly disappearing). The bites slowly made it to other parts of my body, but they are random, not everywhere. The bites have gotten to my legs pretty well, though. The itching, for the most part, had stopped. The bites have turned to sores with a black ring around them. When I pick the "strange looking" scab, it leaves a "crater" in my skin. I do see what appears to be "tracks". I thought at first it was scabies, but the doctor assured me it wasn't. I did notice however, two "raised" bumps on my back. Being naturally prone to pick, I picked one of them and it was dry and squeaky. No blood or fluid. I was able to pick out some little black dots. Seems as though something may have been "nesting" in my skin! I am beginning day three of the borax in water. I do feel better, and it appears as though the scarring and sores are improving. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Any other advice?"
Replies07/15/2010: Diane from Berkeley, Ca replies: "Fran: Those sound very much like bed bug bites. They typically come in groups of 2's to 4's, and when irritated can have a "ring" around them like you mention. You may have an infestation. I don't have advice as to a cure, but it's worth looking into this as a possible cause, because if so you will need to treat the home to remove them, and any internal treatments, while soothing may not be sufficient."
07/16/2010: Bill from San Fernando, Luzon, Philippines replies: "Hi Fran. . . I live in the tropics and I had the same problem as you, bites and sores all over mainly my back and lower body. I had a favourite couch that I used to sleep and doze on regularly which had mites in it. This is what I had to do.
* I used a simple combination of 1%-3% hydrogen peroxide and a tablespoon of borax (20 Mule Team is fine) in an ordinary 8 oz flower garden sprayer. Also add one tablespoon of Milk of Magnesia. All I did was to spray my body (particularly the bitten areas) after my shower and before bed with this mix and then wash it off the next morning. I found that, next day, I hadn't been bitten anymore and my bites had actually gone down and didn't itch so much. I still use this mix if some critter bites me, it's very effective. Only use this mix topically and avoid use near the eyes.
* Take your couch/bed mattress and put it outside in the sun and heat for the day. The mites and bugs will hate the sun, they will run away and leave the couch/bed mattress.
* Also make sure you clothes are not infested by washing your clothes with generous amounts of borax.
The borax will kill the mites directly as will the hydrogen peroxide which will also kill any other associative bacteria and viruses as well.
The Milk of Magnesia (MoM) will kill the bugs and anything else in 2 other ways. First the MoM is so alkaline -- pH 10 -- that it will kill any bacteria, virus, fungus or bug easily. As well, MoM contains mainly Magnesium Hydroxide, which is highly hydrohobic (drives water out). So using MoM will also dehydrate the bugs or mites and kill them that way too."

Hello, im new to all this but im so glad i found this site. I found it through searchs at curezone.com i knew i was dealin with nanoinsects and iv been using the exact measurements of borax and alittle Hydrogen Peroxide with a liter of water that Ted says to do. Iv been on it for about 5 days now and many many of the dermodex mites came to the surface of my skin. Its really gross, its all over my arms, shoulders and back. All over my stomach and legs. I dont know how i got it but i know i had it for many years since iv suffered from eczema all my life, im 27 yrs old now.
I really hope this stuff works quickly because as of right now i dont even want to go to the store. I got long sleeves but its really bad. I took a few baths with borax and i know its working. I always wanted to get to the source of the problem and attack it but i never found out how till now. No matter how long it takes i hope to be cleansed of all these nasty bugs. I also wanted to write and thank you for leading people to the truth and what most doctors wont tell us. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
sincerly,

ON A ROLL, this is my third input today. This is not my procedure as I got it off this site, but I have refined it. I now only put the borax, tee tree oil and hydrogen peroxide solution in my nose where the hair follicles are. Also I have added Vitamin E for the oil. This is more effective and I have been doing this for several years. I have concluded that you never get rid of these buggers, you just control them."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 10/15/2009: Izzy3 from Sebastian, Florida writes: "I am a sufferer for 1 year now of some invisible biting mite, or so I thought, now I feel it might be the Sticktight Flea which also can't be seen without magnification, I noticed the things coming off my body are things exactly like the 3 stages of this biting Burrowing blood sucking creature, it also loves to live in peoples ears ! Which has been my distress for 9 months now in the left ear, however by chance I stumbled upon a site staing that fleas do not like Brewers Yeast, it's used for fleas and other bugs on dogs cats and livstock, so I'm giving it a try, you can find the tablets in grocery stores usually in vitamin section, don't take more than reccomended doseage, especially if on other meds. If you walk in a room and suddenly feel them on your calves or upper body, think about it, fleas are able to jump, mites can't ! we might have some of them too but I am getting reaction from the yeast with the ones in my ears, they are not happy . I'm also on ph drops to build my alkaline and immune booster caps.Good Luck to all fellow sufferers."

Two days ago, I noticed that two of them had problems with their faces - almost raw flesh exposed and red bumps everywhere. Even the nose up to the nostrils were exposed flesh. I realized it was a bad case of mites, as the two cats were always nuzzling each other. I figured that the raw flesh was due to them scratching from the mites.I left the scene and went home and opened a fresh can (I use a Non GMO brand from sugar beets grown in Europe, as pretty much all un-organic sugar beets in USA are GMO) and went back to the cat colony and sprinkled it generously on their wet and dry food. The next day when I returned, the two kitties faces were almost completely normal - with only a tiny scab here and there. I was absolutely thrilled and amazed. I am now going to use it regularly as I think it will help them with their fleas. I remember years ago, one of my uncles said it cured him from "itchy butt"(anus) so I thought I would try it for the kitties mites, and it worked."

DIAGNOSING MITES

[QUESTION] 11/19/2009: Eve K from Houston, Tx, Usa writes: "Hi all, I am wondering if I may have some type of mite infestation? How does one determine what type of mite it is? I notice the remedies are quite varied but seem to be directed at specific type of mites...
This summer, in the evenings, we usually sit on the patio for a little happy hour after work. This is between 6-7 pm. Summers (well, ALL seasons, actually) are very HUMID.
I noticed on several evenings that my right occipital orbit bone would become quite itchy and irritated but there was no obvious bite. I thought it was some kind of tiny mosquito, biting gnat or something like that, but it made no sense that it would always be in the exact same place. Occasionally there is a similar itchy spot along my right temple at the hairline.
Tonight, it is too cold to be outdoors, but the itching started in the same old place. The orbit bone is quite puffy and red, my whole right cheek is flushed red (no alcohol tonight so that is not the reason!) and there are two little bloody spots like pin pricks.
The left cheek was a little flushed but not itchy and no obvious bites. I really don't want this thing to spread, it would be a nightmare.
Any thoughts?
Two other things--I have an inside dog but have had him for 11 years. He doesn't seem any itchier than normal...
Also, this year, we started using a clothesline to dry our clothes and towels, especially during the drought when it was pretty hot and sunny all day, really saved on our electric bill. The line runs from the house to a big pecan tree that is heavily inhabited by squirrels and we also have a lot of birds in our yard (all kinds from sparrows to cardinals to hummers to owls). On at least one occasion, I had to rewash towels that had been hanging on the line due to being soiled with some kind of animal droppings...
I just washed all my towels and pillow cases in super hot water and washed my face with ACV followed with a layer of coconut oil.
This is a long post but I would appreciate any input.
Thanks and thanks, Earth Clinic, for this amazing site!!"
11/21/2009: Gaynor from Manaton, Devon Uk replies: "Eve,You should try Ted's remedy below for dermodex mites borax and hydrogen peroxide- this works well for killing these nano- insects. I am in the process of treating myself presently. Best of luck.
TED'S REMEDIES
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Consider taking borax. Some people believed the demodex mites are responsible for rosacea. They may be right. But, there are others too that are not yet identified. I prefer to lump all these insect issues to just one category: nanoinsects. These insects have several weakness that you can kill them, or at least weaken them. One obvious ones is borax. The treatment can be broken down to two things;
1. Taken internally: Try 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 teaspoon of borax in one liter of water/day. You just drink this water throughout the day. If it runs out then drink just normal water, with some magnesium added if possible. Magnesium is found in certain seeds such as sunflower. They seem to be synergistic with the vitamin D as vitamin D promotes calcium and the body needs to balance both magnesium and calcium to an ideal amount.
2. Used externally: Dog mange is confirmed demodex mites and the only treatment that effectively cured of dog mange is 1% hydrogen peroxide and borax saturated solution applied topically. Many people believe the demodex mites is the cause of rosacea. What I am sure about is it is an insect issue. The method of killing them is external application of 1% hydrogen peroxide with borax saturated solution to the face, unrinsed. It tends to cause drying. So you can apply appropriate lotions to prevent drying, such as jojoba oil, aloe vera or lavender oil."
01/14/2010: Ruth from Hobart, Tasmania replies: "Oh this is the remedy including borax, didnt see it earlier, thank you!"
01/17/2010: Ruth from Hobart, Tasmania replies: "How long do you keep the saturated solution with 1% peroxide on face for please Ted? I have had worsening roseacea since mite insect population exploded. Maybe I have the Demodex mites but how come none of the 12 medical people I saw suggested that? I understand that chinese medics say sugar is red on skin (dairy is white patches) I love sweet foods as much as I try not to I feel it' s a sugar issue, myself -the rosecea I mean but this is all interesting-well not that interesting-I could be doing alot of other things! Thank you, Ruth"
01/18/2010: Tricia from Ireland replies: "Ted's recomendation is to leave it on the skin but because it made my skin look dry I put it on at night and washed it off in the morning. I kept up the regime nightly for 1 month the went to every second night for 2 weeks, every third night for 2 weeks and tapered off.I don't believe mine was a sugar issue and mites will attach to easy healthy option before they'll go for hard to grip damaged or oily skin that they find difficult to latch onto.
Also, use and change your pillowcases, i.e use 1 side tonight other tomorrow then change to prevent reinfection. Your pillowcases may lighten from the concoction so use old ones."
01/19/2010: Ruth from Hobart, Tasmania replies: "Thanks Tricia, I'm concerned at ingesting Borax after pharmacist warning that it accumulates as poison in body?"
01/19/2010: Tricia from Ireland replies: "I honestly can't say whether the borax was dangerous or not. I'd love to have the chemical background that some of the other posters have to be able to know for certain but I can tell you that it didn't adversely affect me. I still continue to use it 2 days a week in a litre of water. Somewhere on this site a poster mentions the LD50(the amount it will take to kill you) of borax but I can't remember where it is.My worry at the start was "did the borax or peroxide have stabilisers added that would be harmful". So I rang the company and said I was doing an educational project to find out what was added. The answer was nothing so I guessed that with the amount of posters that had successfully ingested and knowing what to watch out for thanks to the warnings pages I would jump in with both feet.
I imagine that most people start a borax regime with trepidation."
05/04/2010: Eden from Mesa, Az replies: "What about the hair?"
10/14/2011: Anne from Amsterdam, Ny Usa replies: "Again, has anyone had success treating bird mites that have gone internal? I have altered my diet, gone more alkaline, no red meat, very little animal protein, MSM, vitamin c, cal/mag/zinc supplement, vitamin D, good yogurt, flaxseed oil and a multi-vitamin supplement. I am still infested, and want to begin the borax treatment, but am not sure what to expect..."
12/16/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "In keeping with EC guidelines I've not been posting my progress here daily. However, I'm now on Day 7 of Ted's remedy and I feel I should report my experience so far:The remedy: I dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of pharmaceutical-grade borax in one litre of water and sip it throughout the day. Additionally, I drink 1/2 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in 1/2 glass of water twice daily.
I also drink unpasteurised ACV "with mother" in a glass of warm water three times daily with meals, two tablespoons of food-grade diatomaceous earth in water daily, one high quality multi-nutrient capsule daily (contains all the vitamins, minerals, and trace elements), two cups of green tea daily, two chewable calcium tablets for my osteoporosis (I think it's inorganic but I can't find the organic variety in Ireland), and a clove of raw garlic every second day. Lunch is a heap of cucumber, an apple, a clementine, and a banana. I also eat dark chocolate every now and again. Daily, I drink yoghurt with plant sterols (for my high cholesterol).
I've cut out coffee (which I really, really miss), sugar, bread, and cheese (which I also miss badly) and the only milk I consume is on my breakfast bran flakes. I don't eat butter.
Day 1: I had a dramatic drop in the number of tickles - down to less than 100 from well over 1, 000.
Day 2: Was not as good as Day 1 but I believe more insects are being driven out onto the surface of my skin and of course a new clutch of eggs "comes online" every day. I also noticed that urinating created lots of bubbly suds in the toilet bowl.
Day 3: Was the same as Day 2 except that the timings of my tickle onslaughts changed. Mornings were now much busier while afternoons were relatively peaceful until dusk. At full nightfall they quietened again until 8. 30, then got busy again till midnight when they started to taper off.
Day 4: Was the same as Day 3 except the suds disappeared from the toilet bowl and my urine was now pale green, the exact same colour as my sebaceous plugs.
Day 5: The suds returned with urine still green. But something happened that's never happened before: normally, I've always been able to halt a tickle onslaught on my scalp and face during the day by going outdoors into the light. At night, going outside into the cold air also stopped them (they love heat and relative dark - a demodex mite trait). The day was sunny but freezing cold with a high wind chill when I went out for my afternoon walk. The tickles continued unabated.
Day 6: I didn't go outdoors (rain) but the timings remained the same. Less suds and urine not so green. Tickles seem less intense and plugs that were hard and solidly embedded in my skin were now softer and could be fairly easily removed with a fingernail. The objects they contain are blackened and seem malformed. Fewer trips to the bathroom to brush wandering mites off my abdomen, groin, scrotum, perineum, and buttocks, and remove them from my anus. Almost all the astonishing amounts of scurf that used to coat the wash-basin when I washed my face and scalp (I shave my head nightly) has disappeared. My skin feels much softer and the orange-peel texture is fading.
Day 7 (today): Same timings but tickle numbers slightly reduced so far. Less suds and urine less green.I seem to have plateau'd at a better but still unacceptable level and it's unclear how long I should continue with Ted's remedy. But since demodex females can live for up to 60 days, three months would seem a good idea.
Some people here reported adding a capful of hydrogen peroxide to the borax mix so I googled it and found nothing but warnings. Until I found this astonishing website:
http://www.foodgrade-hydrogenperoxide.com/id31.html
Don't bother reading the site or viewing the video but download the PDF file from the Free eBook link - it contains more information. Apparently, since 1888, doctors (and even some hospitals) all over the world have been using H2O2 (reagent or food-grade) orally, topically - and now via intravenous or intra-arterial infusions - to successfully cure (yes, cure) all sorts of serious conditions including cancers and heart disease that don't respond to radiation or drugs. Illnesses cured also include parasitic infestations.
The PDF contains a long list of American doctors (with telephone numbers) who regularly use H2O2 therapy with astonishing success rates. It even includes instructions on how doctors should proceed with this infusion treatment. The PDF is free, the website sells nothing, and carries no ads.
I've ordered 35% food-grade H2O2 from the UK (http://bobbys-healthy-shop.co.uk/) as well as a countertop water distiller. I also emailed the site owner (James Roguski, who seems to be a scientist) to find out how best I should proceed. I'm still awaiting a reply.
Things are definitely better than they were before I started Ted's remedy but I propose to try the oral H2O2 as an adjunctive therapy to speed things up. If Mr. Roguski tells me that the oral route won't work optimally, I'm prepared to travel to the ends of the earth to find a doctor who will do this infusion technique. I've now been trying to deal with this 24/7 torture for two and half years, and thanks to the wonderful Ted, I've made significant progress. But I want these pests gone NOW so I can start trying to get my life back.I've read Ted's warnings about drinking distilled water and they directly contradict the advice given by Vivian Goldschmidt MA (in Nutritional Sciences and Biochemistry) who runs a marvellous site for osteoporosis sufferers (http://saveourbones.com/) who advises us to drink only distilled water.
I'm taking my health back out of the hands of the quacks (doctors) who did so much damage to my health permanently and, to that end, I intend to drink food-grade hydrogen peroxide as well as baking soda for the rest of my life.
Now I just need to find a remedy for the chronic insomnia and tardive akathisia (inability to be still and constantly racing thoughts) due to brain chemistry damage inflicted by a year of Risperidone injections by the dermatologist who diagnosed delusional parasitosis. H2O2 is supposed to help rebalance brain chemistry. We'll see.
So that's where I am at the moment, still awaiting the delivery from the UK of my FG-H2O2 and my water distiller. I can't wait to get started...
Will keep you posted on progress."
12/19/2011: Dud from The Woods Of, Wv, Usa replies: "David from Dublin,[this is a re-post, the 1st post got into the wrong thread]
You're doin good.
I downloaded the peroxide book, thanks for the tip.
Here is another easy protocol to add to your regimen, that may help your skin itches immensely:
Use the borax powder in a hot tub of water to soak in for 30 to 60 minutes. Soak in it every day, or every othe day. Use the time to relax. Most people get the bathtub water comfortably hot. The hot water alone helps the fibromyalgia symptoms [soreness]. The borax in the water will kill the mites externally, and under the skin. It is a fungicide & a bacteria-cide. Some people report seeing black specs, etc. , floating in the bath tub, coming out of their skin. Also add epsom salts [magnesium sulphate] to the soak water, to get it's benefits also. It has a drawing power to it. It is used by sports teams for sore mucles and bruises. Bangkok Ted recommends using the borax externally for mites in this manner. You should feel much better for a couple of hours after soaking in this. You mite kill off the biotics crawling on your skin.
possible amounts: borax: 4 tablesoons epsom salts: 1 quart
cost: about 50 cents U. S. For the borax, about $2 U. S. Dollars for the epsom salts. [in the USA]
Also; You may want to change the way you are using the vinegar internally. Do some Research on earhclinic.com on how to use it. Maybe switch to taking it 1 hour away from meals, instead of with meals. In general; taking it with meals is usually not recommended, because of it interfering with your food digestion. Mix it with about 6 ounces of water, adding 1/4 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate to it, to reduce the acidity of the vinegar, and to improve it's ability to alkalize the blood. Take this mixture about 1 hour away from meals.
However, if taking it with meals seems to help you, then go ahead and continue taking it that way.
Read more about the why & how of it by searching the earhclinic website for older messages. Bangkok Ted has explained this alkalizing method in great detail in past messages.
good luck.""
12/22/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Many thanks for the tips, Dud. Unfortunately, I don't have a tub in my bathroom, just a shower stall. This has been a major hassle throughout this experience. Now a tip for you and everyone else here ingesting hydrogen peroxide and baking soda at the same time.
Don't. Sodium bicarbonate acts as a powerful antacid. This means there will still be undigested food in your stomach for longer than is normal and when the H2O2 hits it, if there's iron, manganese, copper, zinc, fats, or Vitamin C present in it, it will create very dangerous free radicals which can severely damage the lining of your stomach.
You also need to carefully examine the list of ingredients of any supplement you may be taking for the things mentioned above and if it's the "slow-release" type, stop taking it as well while on H2O2.
I can say this with certainty because it happened to me yesterday.
Full story is here: Hydrogen Peroxide Cures
I find this website very confusing. Information on a subject seems to be spread out all over the place. For instance, on the above-linked thread, Bill from the Phillipines says you should only take borax water for five consecutive days, then take a two-day break. That information is nowhere to be found in this thread on Ted's Remedies. Nor does Ted say how long you should take it for.
And I've been unable to find the proportions I should use of 1% H202 to saturated solution of borax for topical use. Nor how to make a saturated solution (we're not all science grads! ). Ted doesn't give that information here. Nor does he mention how many times it should be done, how frequently, or for how long.
Very confusing.
Stay well and take care."
12/25/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "OK, I found out the exact mix for dog mange using borax and hydrogen peroxide on a blog-site whose owner used it on her own animals. I've been unable to find it again today to provide a link here but the gist of it is this:1. Make up a 1% dilution of hydrogen peroxide either by adding two parts distilled water to one part 3% hydrogen peroxide (five parts water if using 6% HP, and 33 parts water if using 35% food-grade HP).
2. Measure out 48 fluid ounces of this and slowly add to it 8 ounces of borax powder. This should be enough to give you a saturated solution (there will be undissolved borax left in the bottom of the container - this means that the mixture is saturated). If you halve both of the above quantities, you can get enough to fill a 32-ounce spray bottle to about three-quarters. However, my spray bottle refused to work because of clogging caused by the undissolved borax powder, so you may have to remove the spray cap and pour it carefully into your cupped hand when applying.
Note: you do not need to use the entire bottle, just enough so you can thoroughly wet the skin and massage it in. I'm over six feet tall and fairly slim and I still have half a bottle left over after doing myself from head to foot.
3. Shower with tea tree shampoo all over and rinse off thoroughly but do not dry yourself.
4. Apply the mixture to your body starting with the neck, rubbing it in well, and work your way down to the soles of your feet. DO NOT RINSE. Be aware that if you apply this to your anus IT WILL STING - but this will pass in a minute or so. I did this as well as my scrotum because both these areas are considerably infested.
5. If you need to treat your scalp and face then YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST wear a good tightly-fitting and waterproof pair of swim goggles to prevent any of the mixture entering your eyes. The rubber-bodied ones are best because you can wet the insides before putting them on - then press on them when they're comfortable to create a suction effect around the eyes. Only do fairly small patches of your scalp and forehead at a time using small amounts to help prevent liquid runoff. BUT BE VERY CAREFUL - if you do get some in your eyes, IMMEDIATELY rinse them out with running warm (not hot) water for 15 minutes.
6. Leave the goggles on and air-dry for 5-10 minutes. When you remove the goggles, you can then apply small amounts with your fingers to those areas on both sides and the back of your head that were covered by the goggle strap.
I did this last night because nausea has prevented me from ingesting borax water for the past four days and my mites were making a substantial resurgence which was preventing me from sleeping. I applied it into both ear canals and just inside each nostril entrance without any problems.
I'm not recommending the following to anyone but I also managed to do my eyebrows (which are very infested - I now only have half-eyebrows left due to their follicle destruction) and areas reasonably close to my eyes by bending over at 90 degrees from the waist, wetting my finger with the mix and thoroughly shaking off any excess drops so my finger was just damp, then massaging it very carefully into those areas as many times as necessary.
My results were that all mite activity stopped, enabling me to sleep.
Today has been very good. I have had only two groin tickles and about 50 on my scalp and face. I intend to treat only those areas again tonight before bedtime because I'm still too nauseous to resume the internal borax remedy (my Christmas "dinner" today was two slices of dry bread, a yoghurt drink, and a glass of milk). Plus, my sensitive skin has always rebelled against daily showering.
For dogs, the blogger recommends all-over application every second day. Ted recommends that for humans, application should be done "several" times a day. I think I'll pass on that because of my sensitive skin and the extreme drying effect that this remedy has.
For this drying, Ted recommends topical oils, particularly lavender oil because demodex mites apparently hate the smell of it. My own past experience with oil-based topicals has been that demodex mites just love it, including neem oil - besides your sebaceous glands, they also feed on your sebaceous oil. So I'm now looking for a non-oil based moisturising/soothing compound with which to mix the lavender oil. (Remember that lavender oil is an essential oil and so must be well diluted before application). I don't know what proportions to use because, again, Ted doesn't mention them, but I'm sure I'll find them on the internet.
I hope this information is useful to someone. If you decide to do this, please remember to BE VERY CAREFUL OF YOUR EYES because hydrogen peroxide - even a 1% dilution - can damage them irreparably. So stay in the shower stall until you're air-dried. That way, you'll have immediate access to fast-running warm water should you need it. I sincerely hope you don't.
Take care and stay well."

1. sleeping problems
2. mind racing, & brain fog
3. nervous system problems, anxiety, being hyper-active, etc.
4. immune system destruction and all the symptoms that follow that
5. headaches , etc etc
The causation maybe radio-frequency emmissions from inside and outside your home. Microwaves from cell phone towers, etc etc etc. Read the full report at: http://www.keephopealive.org/j2009v7n4.html"
12/26/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Thanks for the link to this, Dud. It's fascinating stuff. About two years ago, a telecom tried to build a new tower about 1, 000 yards from my home but the local residents mounted a campaign to have them stopped. They succeeded. The nearest tower to me now is about a 20-minute walk away.Having said that, this tower was present before my insect invasions started and I had no problem in sleeping for nine hours each night and no problem in going back to sleep after getting up to visit the bathroom. My problem started with the nighttime activities of the bedbugs and fleas, then the scabies, then the demodex. And they segued into the sleep disturbance caused by the anti-psychotic Risperidone.
I've saved this article as a PDF though and will try some of the tips outlined.
You've reminded me though that I tried an experiment early on in the demodex infestation. I bought an emergency sleeping bag, rather than a flat emergency blanket, and slept naked in it to see if it would have any effect. Back then I was getting what I called "swarms" every third or fourth night. This was a deeply unpleasant and intense body-wide sensation of fizzing and popping which would wake me up immediately. (I subsequently discovered that this was a large number of insects either hatching or crawling out onto the surface of my skin at the same time).
When I started sleeping in the emergency bag, all mite activity on my body stopped immediately, but my head (which, naturally, was exposed) became the target for these "swarms" instead. I remember waking up one night in a fit of sneezing with this going on - some of the mites had crawled really far up inside my nostrils and caused it.
As well as this problem, these bags are not designed for sleeping but for a fully-clothed person to remain awake and warm in life-threatening weather conditions. As such, when you sleep naked in one, your perspiration and water vapour which is output via the skin is not wicked away as it would be with fabric, but pools instead and cools in the bag next to your skin. So you wake up cold and wet. Consequently, I stopped using it.
Thanks again, Dud, and Happy New Year!"
12/28/2011: Linda from San Francisco, Ca, Usa replies: "To Dave from Dublin,Sorry to hear of your trouble, I have an idea which may help with the skin drying and mite problem.
If you were to use Castor Oil as a moisturizer, I am thinking that the natural Ricin in it may help to kill off those mites, as well as to moisturize your skin and prevent them from having a field day crawling around on you.
I don't know how your grocery markets are in Ireland, but here there are varying thicknesses of Castor oil available in grocery and health food stores, some are very thin in consistency which would be easy to spread onto your skin, and some are very thick and sticky like runny tar. For this, if it were me, I'd try the thin stuff first. The people who sell Edgar Cayce products also have it for sale on the web. They call it Palma Cristi.
I am wondering if it might not be a good idea to mix in a small amount of Borax into the Castor oil, if you can get any there. Only a small amount I am thinking, not enough to be unsightly on your skin.
If it were me, I'd also study other *nontoxic and natural* miticides, like the folks would use who have birds or other mite-challenged pets, to see which of them, if any, are safe for human topical use.
And set out Borax all over the floors, under mattresses, etc to kill off any adventurers.
My belief is that for every problem lifeform on earth, there is a naturally-occurring herb or substance which is safe, and which they will want to get away from. IMO you now get to create an environment on yourself where they would rather be somewhere else.
Might even be good to trap some of the mites off your skin, if that is possible, to test which human-safe substance might be of use in wiping them out.
I hope this helps.
Linda"
12/29/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "@Linda from San Francisco: many thanks for the castor oil idea. I haven't heard of that dreaded stuff since I was a child a hundred years ago! But I've just done some preliminary research and it seems that castor oil is unusual in that it's able to readily penetrate the outer layer of skin due to its low molecular mass (whatever that means).I'm not sure that adding borax would work since I don't know if there would be any molecular binding with the oil in order to carry it into the skin.
Hydrogen peroxide does this readily since the extra oxygen atom in it reacts with almost anything and brings it into your skin. The whitening of your skin when splashed with 3% hydrogen peroxide is due to those extra oxygen atoms that have just been delivered under the skin. It disappears in about 20 minutes or less as the oxygen is absorbed by the cells.
An unusual idea to use a powerful laxative on your skin, but I'll try anything within reason to be rid of these mites as quickly as possible. You can't buy stuff like this in Irish supermarkets but I'll ask my pharmacist about its availability and report back.
I've also found what seems to be a brand new way to kill these mites instantly apparently discovered by a member at the Lymebusters forum. It involves making a topical solution using dried mustard powder. I have more research to do before I try putting a known irritant like this into the skin all over my body.
Thank you again for the tip."
12/30/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "OK, the proportions of borax to water for the topical mange remedy I wrote above is wrong. I originally took it from a dog owner's blog who found most of it here but couldn't find the correct proportions as recommended by Ted, so she made up her own. After searching this site for almost a week, I finally found Ted's recipe buried somewhere obscure here.
According to this, you use between 2-4 tablespoons of borax powder in one litre of 1% hydrogen peroxide solution made using distilled water (1 litre is almost 34 US fluid ounces or slightly more than 35 UK fluid ounces). According to Ted, "the borax need not be precise, it is always a saturated amount of borax until it no longer dissolves itself."
Using 8oz of borax, as I originally wrote, won't do any harm - it's just wasteful and the large amount of undissolved powder clogs up the spray bottle."

My doctor had prescribed medication that I had read on Earth Clinic was very toxic and didn't work that well. I didn't want any part of this if I could avoid it. I also read someone on Earth Clinic recommended Diatomaceous Earth which I have used for years for internal parsites with great success. I decided to try the diatomaceous earth first. Wasn't real sure it would work because the mites are in my skin not inside of me. Since diatomaceous earth is non toxic I wanted to try it first. Have to interject I did try other topical remedies - different essential oils and others things with no relieve. I am amazed in 3 days of diatomaceous earth no mites. I took 1 heaping teaspoon in a half of glass of water a day. I did have trouble with the mites remaining in my hands. I read in the Young Living desk reference book that equal amounts of peppermint oil and oregano oil would kill chiggers or ticks. I mix these two together and experienced lots of itching for about 30 seconds and then they died. Thanks Earth Clinic and all of those who post here."

I also recommend using some eucalyptus, tea tree, or pennyroyal oil (toxic use with caution) along with a half a cup of vinegar in the bath as the bugs are not fond of the smell. Always wash your sheets and clothing frequently, and spray rugs and furniture with a mixture of rubbing alcohol, vinegar, tea tree, and either eucalyptus or pennyroyal oil. [YEA] 12/23/2011: G from Sydney, Nsw Australia writes: "Topical Garlic for Mites
Recipe:
Crush 4 large cloves of garlic & macerate with mineral oil(baby oil) or bath oil(bath oil is a soluble mineral oil, & for this application, worth the cost)
Let the mix steep for several hours, then crush through a fine sieve.
For mineral oil, add a little liquid soap or bath wash, to emulsify with water.
Add enough water to make the mix liquid, especially if you want to spray it on. Add some lemon juice to reduce the smell ( it does smell! The active part is apparently the smelly part, so no luck there). It may burn, so add as much water as you need.
Rub the mix wherever the mites are. They hate it & it kills them. They seem not to come back. Any further bites just rub with the oil, or hold them down with a garlicky finger. Mine would attach to the skin so I needed to scrape them back with a fingernail.
My infestation is probably bird mites & is highly resistant to permethrin products (applied in concentrations both absurdly high & totally irresponsible) & slightly deterred by tea tree oil but the garlic mix gets a whopping 9 dead bugs out of 10 for stopping power & revenge value.
Keep away from eyes!
The is adapted from a Depression era insecticide recipe which works really well.
Garlic stores it's winter food just above the ground, where all the bugs & bacteria live, so it's chemical protection needs to be good. The mite family has 50 000 species & pre-dates insects, so they know a thing or two about adapting to local conditions.
Hope this helps you murder those suckers."

GENERAL FEEDBACK
12/09/2011: David from Dublin, Ireland writes: "In May, 2009, my mother died in the hospice ward of a decrepit hospital that allows and encourages wild animals into its grounds right up to the building itself.
When they returned her clothing, I found three neatly-folded hospital blankets at the bottom of the bag. They were caked with mud, animal droppings, bloodstains, and unknown debris.
From that bag, my home was infested with bedbugs and permethrin-resistant fleas, and I was infested with scabies. For almost a year, two pest control companies couldn't eliminate the fleas. I finally imported diatomaceous earth from the US and they all died in four days.
The scabies were also permethrin-resistant (Lyclear Dermal Cream and Derbac M all failed) so I tried Kleen Green. Inside a month I was clear.
But I was left with incessant tickles, "stinging, " and crawling sensations, as well as a little itching.
Two dermatologists and a psychiatrist diagnosed delusional parasitosis. None followed the protocols for making such a diagnosis, none would examine my photographic images, and I was given anti-psychotic injections (Risperidone) for a year without my knowledge or informed consent and instructed to ignore the sensations as they were just "transient itches."
For the full horror story, as well as many images of insects in hair follicles and sebaceous plugs, damaged and discoloured skin, please visit my website:
http://www.delusionalinsects.com
Thanks to a kind commenter on my site, I found Earth Clinic and all these possible remedies from kind and helpful people.
Thanks to the ludicrous delusional diagnosis, these insects have now had two and half years to spread over my entire body, from scalp to soles of feet. The only areas they haven't populated are the palms of my hands and my penis. I even have them in my anus, up my nostrils, and in my ear canals. My skin everywhere is dry, flakey, and itching has increased. Life is hell.
I've been drinking unpasteurised ACV "with mother" for over a month (three tablespoons in warm water taken with food three times daily) and have noticed only a very slight improvement.
I also take two heaped tablespoons of food-grade diatomaceous earth in a half-pint of water at about 7:30 each evening.
I shave my head and face every night before bed with shaving oil, then apply a moisturiser with aloe vera.
I was about to start spraying my body with a 50/50 dilution of the ACV when I found Ted's internal borax and baking soda remedy. I'm about to go mix up my first batch now but I'm a bit confused.
My questions:
1. How do you measure 1/4 of a teaspoon?
2. Another post here mentions adding a capful of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the water as well. Ted doesn't say to do this, so is it correct?
3. Ted's remedy on the Rosacea thread only mentions adding borax to the water - no baking soda. Why the difference?
4. In Ted's external borax remedy, he mentions using a "borax saturated solution" (what's that?) with 1% hydrogen peroxide but doesn't say what proportions of each to use. Anyone know the answer to this?
5. I'm 60 years old, osteoporotic, and partially disabled due to a spinal injury so there are parts of my body I can't reach. Consequently, I have to use a spray bottle or a long-handled applicator for my back. How important is it to massage this mixture into the skin? And how often should this external treatment be done?
Well, that's it for the moment. Thank you for your time, attention, and patience. I wish you all the very best of luck with these demons. And if you want to see the images the dermatologists turned their backs on, please check out my site."
Replies12/09/2011: Anon from Anon, Usa replies: "Hi. Very sorry to hear of this. I believe I have something like this also. I have drank Borax in a liter of water as well as bathed in it. It has seemed to help, but my most success came from putting Hairever scalp treatment on infested areas, this can be purchased from Puritan's Pride. I also have been washing with a lye soap called grandmas lye soap and it seems to help. I have heard that you can lather yourself from head to toe with vaseline for several hours and it will smother these critters. When I use the scalp treatment I seem to have these black specks come out of my skin. I also have the white pimple like bumps that looks like larva.About the borax- 1/4 tsp. It is simple. Just get some measuring spoons ( like the ones used for cooking ) And get the one that says 1/4 tsp, dip it in the borax and get a level scoop and add this to a liter of water and drink throughout the day. The spoons are called measuring spoons. ( availiable where you get kitchen supplies like cookware )
I would like to mention that I would do everything I could to get my ph alkiline. This can be accomplished with baking soda taken interally. Read this site for now on. I have been studing on Earthclinic.com now for several years and have barely scratched the surface of what all is availiable here. There is so much on here, I could not even begin to tell you.
The vaseline petroleum jelly would be worth a shot and I would most certainly use the scalp treatment on the infected spots. If you have black specks come out of your skin, then we are dealing with the same critters. The scalp treatment penetrates the hair follicles and gets deep into the pores. Rub it in the skin for several minutesand then let it sit on the skin for about five minutes and wash off with some lye soap and a wash cloth or something to wash away the dry skin.
On this site if you study, you will find that disease, parasites and sickness cannot live in an alkaline body. Tons of info here. Learn to navigate this website.

12/10/2011: Susan from San Francisco, Usa replies: "I used the Borax water (1/2) and ACV (1/2) to get rid of the eggs under the skin. The ACV is the carrier and the Borax washes the protective coating off of the eggs and they die. I would shower every day (sometimes twice) and rinse off with the above mentioned solution. Bathe, towel dry off and then rub the solution all over (including your scalp and hair) and DO NOT rinse. Stand around for about 5-10 minutes and air dry). I stopped itching in a couple of weeks. I don't remember how long the adult mites live, but I put all of my consentration into getting rid of and keeping rid of the eggs. Put 1/8 cup of Borax in a gallon jug of water, give it a good hard shake and let it sit for about half an hour. The water will absorb all of the Borax that it can and you needn't worry about the little bit of risidual Broax at the bottom of the container. Good Luck!"
12/12/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "Many thanks to Anon from Anon and to Susan from San Francisco for your responses and your very helpful tips.I'm taking 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a half glass of water twice a day as well as the borax water. I'm going to try adding a capful of food-grade hydrogen peroxide to the borax water tomorrow.
This is now Day 3 and it's all definitely doing something. Day 1 was almost miraculous - tickles down from about 1, 000 a day to less than 100. Day 2 was not as good and I think I know why - this treatment seems to drive more mites out onto the surface of my skin. And of course every day sees a new clutch of eggs hatching.
I've been doing some more research on demodex and found out that while the males only live for 15 days, the females can live for up to 60 days. Which means I'll have to do this borax and baking soda regimen daily for at least three months to be sure of getting them all.
Also, I don't understand why so many posters here emphasise incessant cleaning of the environment when the demodex mite can only survive 24-38 hours if dislodged from the host. Plus, they can't fly or jump and they move very slowly (though they can speed up a bit in warm temperatures). Plus, you don't have to worry about eggs because they only lay them inside you.
For two years, I washed my clothes and bedding daily at 60 degrees Celsius (and sometimes 90) and dried them on high heat and it made absolutely zero difference to these mites because they can only live in your skin - all you'll kill with this regimen is any surface wanderers that get caught up in your clothes or bedding. All it did was destroy my stuff and cost me a fortune on electricity bills (money I don't have to spare). I also used to vacuum the entire house every day (and sometimes twice a day).
So now I sleep (or semi-sleep) on a rubber air-bed on top of a diatomaceous-earth-dusted latex mattress in a non-woven nylon-shelled sleeping bag (my pillow is a non-woven nylon bag stuffed with an old sweater). Every morning, I shake the sleeping bag and "pillow" out thoroughly in the garden and hang them on the wash line to air for a few hours (on wet days, I run them through the dryer on high heat for 40 minutes).
When I undress for bed, I shake out my clothes thoroughly, turn them inside out and do it again, then pack them into a double-sealed vacuum-pack plastic bag. Next morning I shake them out again before getting dressed. I only vacuum the rooms I actually use now once a week.
The only things I wipe daily are those I touch with bare skin - door and faucet handles, light and electricity switches, toilet seat and flush handle, computer keyboards and mice. Also, I never let my bare feet touch the floor and keep my fingernails as short as possible. And that's it - I don't have the time, energy, or ability to do any more because of my constant pain and the fact that virtually all of my life is now taken up with brushing these things off me.
Things are now no better nor no worse than they were before.
Specifics for Anon:
Vaseline: During my research, I read a post (can't remember where) from someone who had done this and it didn't work. But I came across another which recommended Vicks Vapor Rub on the most affected areas (which would be my entire skin). So I may give that a try.
Friends Help: When it became apparent that my home was infested and I had scabies, I told all my friends I wouldn't be seeing them for some time and informed them why. Two and a half years of solitude later, I have no friends. My brothers and sisters all believe I'm delusional because doctors are always right. And I can't afford to pay a nurse out of my pittance of a pension.
Since my first post, I've given this problem a lot of thought and what I do now is use the long-handled lotion applicator to get at just about all areas of my back, then wash as far down as my knees. (I've also ordered an exfoliation strap from the UK so I can get at ALL of my back). I dry off, then sit on a chair and wash my calves and use the lotion applicator for my feet in a plastic basin. I've superglued an old toothbrush to a plastic ruler and use that to do between my toes. It's a struggle but I can now just about manage to wash all areas of my body OK. It just takes me forever to clean myself like this (an hour and a half). Having to massage stuff into my skin for any length of time would be very problematic indeed though.
Specifics for Susan:
ACV plus borax water: I've ordered another five litres of ACV with mother so I'll have to wait till it arrives from the UK to try your recipe. The ACV is have left at the moment is only enough for internal use.
I've never been able to shower every day because I've always had extremely sensitive skin, even using Simple Soap (but I did it for a month twice a day when I had scabies and it almost killed me).
So what I would propose is to put your mix into a spray bottle and spray myself down nightly before bed.
Will this nightmare ever end?
Finally, a tip:
I've been in contact with the UK administrator of the Morgellons organisation (who has been an absolute angel for me) to see if they keep a list of sympathetic dermatologists and doctors for Ireland. They don't. But she gave me a recipe for exfoliation:
Mix plain green Fairy Liquid (dish soap - US equivalent would be Dawn) with fine table salt 50/50 and rub it into and over your skin. Leave it on for about five minutes, then rinse off.
When I came to rinse off, I initially thought that the soap must have penetrated my skin because it felt so slippery. Then I realised that this WAS my skin - all the dead stuff had sloughed off and it was like having brand new skin. I've now thrown out my exfoliation gloves (after immersion in boiling water of course).
Many thanks again to both of you. I'm exhausted. Bye for now."
12/23/2011: G from Sydney, Nsw Australia replies: "I am experiencing an infestation of what I believe are bird mites. The critters are perhaps 1/2 mm long & bite. I am now using a garlic preparation that works well, killing the bugs & keeping them away:1. Crush several cloves of garlic and let them steep in about 1/4 cup of mineral oil or bath oil for some hours (Baby oil is a mineral oil, Bath oil is a soluble mineral oil & worth the cost). Add some lemon juice to reduce the smell. Push the mix firmly through a fine strainer.
2. Add some liquid soap to mineral oil to emulsify then thin with a quantity of water suitable for rubbing on your skin.
It works really well. The recipe is based on a home insecticide recipe I found, modified for topical use. The only down side is the pervasive smell, but frankly I just really need the sleep. The quantities are rough: you are looking for a fairly pungent mix that does not irritate your skin.
My particular critters are only slightly deterred by tea tree oil, now they're running scared. I have tried permethrin based surface sprays & bombs which have had no effect whatever. Since permethrin is (supposedly) non/low toxic I even sprayed my hat to sleep in. The bugs just laughed.
Garlic & onions store their winter food just above the soil, where most of the bugs & bacteria live. So it's not surprising they have developed effective & general defenses against animals & bacteria.
The mite family has 50,000 species & of course they pre-date insects. They are top survivors. That species number also indicates they are masters of evolution & adaptation, quickly adapting to local food source & conditions.
Before I tried the garlic I thought I was screwed, completely. There are a number of other things to try: oregano oil is a top contender. I am also looking at rosemary oil & citronella oil. I intend to emulsify these for a surface spray. Steam cleaners are a known winner. Some people recommend Windex, which just sounds like a death wish.
Good luck, you can do it."
12/27/2011: Faith from Forest Park, Ohio replies: "Diatomaceous Earth is used for this, make sure you get FOOD GRADE!"
12/29/2011: David from Dublin, Co. Dublin, Ireland replies: "@G from Sydney, Nsw Australia: Many thanks for the topical garlic recipe which I've only just seen now, thanks to the way this site is (dis)organised.I see you're using it for bird mites. Humans are secondary hosts for these whereas we're primary hosts for human demodex mites which live in follicles and sebaceous glands, so I'm not sure it would work.
But nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I'll also see if I can get oregano oil (not guaranteed here in backward Ireland).
Many thanks for the tips.
@Faith from Forest Park, Ohio: I do use food-grade diatomaceous earth which I take internally every evening after dinner (2 heaped tablespoons in half a pint of water). I'm not sure about putting in on my skin though because it's a powerful dessicant. It also has almost diamond-hard sharp edges (which cut through hard insect exoskeletons like butter) so I'd imagine it could do fairly radical structural damage to the outer skin layer.
I'll research it. Many thanks for the tip."

Please somebody respond soon. I have posted three times in the past two days, and would love some feedback."

My question is that in order to increase alkalinity in my system, I have been drinking multiple cups of green tea per day for a few weeks now. In view of the flouride issue, should I stop doing this while taking the borax? Will it be counterproductive? I am also taking 300 mg of MSM per day. Will this do anything either beneficial or counterproductive?"

03/04/2011: Brandy from Denham Springs, Louisiana writes: "I went through a horrific experience with bird mites. At first, I was the only sufferer since females are usually attacked prior to anyone else in the home. I felt alone since no one believed me and started to think I was going insane. I lost sleep every-night and became delusional, enough to where I lost my job. My intense research brought me to birdmites.org where I finally had an answer. I went to the local pest store, bought residual indoor and outdoor products, fumigated the attic and also sprayed the yard and trees. A few months later did the same thing to kill the rest that hatched. It worked!!
Finally figured out that they came from a dead bird that was found in the attic after a hurricane. Also noticed it got worse when it rained or was humid outside (which is common in the south). If it would have gone on any longer, I probably would have taken my life -- that's how severe it became and I'm not a suicidal or depressed person. I am still angry that I was so alone and want to help anyone suffering from it. It can be defeated!!!"
Replies03/29/2011: Misdiagnosed from Dayton, Oh/usa replies: "Hi there, I was glad to read your post, because I too became suicidal and delusional. I ALMOST lost my job too. This condition is awful, isn't it? I am near the end; only have a few bites a day, but there was a time a few months ago, when I was getting bit 100x per hour. Couldn't focus, couldn't concentrate. My house was a mess and I'm typically a neat freak! I started spraying the furniture, clothes, car, and office with a mixture of about 12 drops of peppermint oil to a large spray bottle of water. This helped tremendously. I now know if I can just get this spray in contact with them, they die. The trick is they hide in crevices and tiny cracks. I took apart my office chair and sprayed it this morning - HUGE relief!"

I have tryed it all to kill these things they said to do on birdmites.com and none worked for me. I have suffered for seven years with theses things."

(4 other people managed to get rid of them as I was able to get them to act fast-but with greaaat difficulty. And they dont live/ bed with a small child!)I' ve lived with the mitets 4 years now! No medical people can find anything or believe me. They live in my ears as well as head/face mostly-travel over my body, bite like a sand fly armpits groin too, arms, legs! I feel them hatching and the larvae stage is different in crawling sensation to the adult. They mostly lay eggs behind ears but elsewhere on top. I know this as I spent months shaving our heads and the popping sounds behind my ears and crawling around from there(!)-they like to run for cover when so exposed-or after treatment they move around to get away-hence migration into ears.A night I distinctly feel them crawl over my face into eyelashes and eyes brows cheeks. from within ears and nearby external ears. Yes I have gone completely insane, washing and poisoning us and avoiding others. Ive tried a huge range of natural products of course. Mega bucks. I will look into the baking soda and borax mix thank you. You dont say how to have it, please? And I' ll try the ACV. Ive begun using 5% Coal tar shampoo, some relief but just read it's banned in higher doses as coal tar is a well known carcenogenic. Sigh!"

10/11/2009: Izzy from Vero Beach, Florida U.s.a writes: "Maybe a flea ?
I have discovered after a year of battleing these invisible biting creatures, that there also is a flea called the Sticktight Flea, which is just as small as the bird-rat mites, and it loves humans, likes to live in crotch area, scalp, face and ears, and i do mean it lives in the ears, and burrows into the flesh there, when you use remedies in your ears it goes under the flesh, very hard to kill, I got suspicious when I saw one I got from between my cats toes, and they cause dogs- cats to do the head shaking also, I have been pulling stuff off my body for a year now, and they have been things that are the same as all 3 stages of this creature, they come off wildlife, including wild birds !! I am going to start battleing with products for fleas and see what happens, along with my zapper which helps."
RepliesEC: Another name for a sticktight flea is Echidnophaga gallinacea: http://course1.winona.edu/kbates/_private/Echidnophaga gallinacea.htm
11/01/2009: Izzy from Vero Beach, Florida replies: "Invisible biting mites?I have posted here before, but just want to add a couple tips to help in this ongoing battle against these Mites? Using sprinkled talc with Menthol in it on your sheets keeps them off you so you can sleep, not allowed to say the name of product but it's in a green shaker bottle with holes in the cap, has Zinc Oxide and Menthol as ingredients, also get Pets on a topical, that covers mites & fleas, this stopped the misery my pets were going through.Dealing with the ones in my ears is a different story though, have thrown everything safe at them but can't kill them there, keep using borax in wash ,and I add 1 teaspoon of Euclyptus Oil to each load, if you have pets it's a good idea to wash the oil out of the clothes after soaking them in the borax & Euc. Be careful with essential oils of any kind around pets, I research any new remedies I try first due to my pets. An Immune booster supplement is a must ! And if your a long time remedy user it's a real good idea to buy a Liver Detoxifier from your health food store, trust me you will feel a lot better once your liver starts to rejuvinate itself. If you want to make your blood more Alkaline you can buy PH drops to make it more alkaline than acidic, this helps in the battle also, I am a senior citizen and am in pretty good shape due to following my tips, however until the CDC stops dragging their feet we'll never get to the bottom of this, my bugs are able to burrow under the flesh, hence I can't kill them in my ears but any feedback will be appreciated!"
11/02/2009: K from Sacramento, Ca replies: "I had a bad case of mites this summer. I used neem oil - three or four large dropperfuls in about a cup of olive oil, added some oil of orange. Put all over head, face, ears, neck down to shoulders.
Then soak in a tub of water - add hydrogen peroxide, one large bottle, about 1/2 cup borax and a cup or so of salt, oil up down to the water level. Soak for an hour if you can.
Then wash your hair with Dawn dish soap.
This causes a rush to your eyes as they try to get away, but using drops and resting in a dark room will get you thru it.
Do it once a week until they are gone.
I saw an article that recommended using lysol, the kind you dilute. Pour it on your scalp, ears, etc and let it dry. Leaving it on do it again and let dry. Leave on for all day or night if you can before you wash it out. Have not tried it as mine are gone or reduced so as not to be bothersome.
Good luck."
01/27/2010: Gaynor from Manaton, Uk replies: "Antonio,For 9 days I have been using my saliva to clear the last of the dermodex mites causing my rosacea- and it has worked! All clear no more spots or redness, calm pale smooth skin- I can hardly believe it. I stopped doing the borax and H202 remedy as I realised that the saliva was making such a difference. Quite remarkable for something so simple a remedy as applying your own saliva to your skin.
Thank you Antonio and Earth Clinic!"
