[YEA] 05/15/2009: Dordor from Singapore: "I had a very bad case of swollen lymph node near my cheek bone probably also due to 2 mouth ulcers, it was so painful even after 1 course of antibiotics did not ease my discomfort. I decided to try Apple Cider Vinegar after reading much about this miracle drink from earthclinic, it's no brainer to guess what happened next, my lymph node shrunk to the size that i did not even feel its existence. My ulcers healed on the 2nd days i used the ACV."
[YEA] 04/06/2009: Aarina from Seattle, WA: "Amazing! On Thursday evening I noticed pain on both sides of my neck, and began worrying about all the possibilities. By Saturday, I'd realized I was suffering from continually swelling lymph nodes. After reading through the info on this site, I took one shot glass of ACV every four hours throughout the day, along with lots of fresh filtered water. I'm shocked at how quickly the swelling subsided!!!"Replies
[YEA] 01/06/2012: Blondetwit from Kelso, Wa, Usa replies: "Suffering from a bad cold that turned to pneumonia, the glands on the left side of my neck, getting horribly bad to the point of concern of needing to go to the emergency room, I found this site, drank the ACV in water, and ohmygosh! At about 15 minutes the pain had abated about 50%, now, at about 45 minutes, it's abated about 75%!!! I'm sure now I'll asleep tonight and continue to get well. Thanks for all the posts on this!!!"
10/10/2013: Susanna from Jacksonville, Fl replies: "A week ago I was tested positive for strep. I took a zpack, which did nothing but made it worse. After a trip to the ER, pinicillin shot, steroids, another zpack, and 1 week later, my lymph node on my left side is still SO SWOLLEN and tender. It's making everything around it swollen too. To the point where when I try to swallow water, it goes into my nose. Will ACV work to reduce this swelling? I've tried salt water gargles to no avail."
10/11/2013: Mama To Many from Tennessee, Usa replies: "Dear Susanna,
It wouldn't hurt to try the Apple Cider Vinegar for your swollen lymph node, and might help! You can try 1 Tablespon of the vinegar and 1 Tablespoon of honey in a mug of hot water, 2-3 times a day.
If you still have some strep infection, you could try some things for that too. Even if you don't test positive for strep, these things may be helpful. You can add some cayenne pepper to your salt water gargle. (1/4 cup water, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon cayenne. ) Do this every other hour. Put some lip balm on before hand so the cayenne doesn't bother your lips. It is very spicy, but very helpful! Also, raw garlic, one clove, minced, 4x a day. (You can put it on toast or in honey. )
Castor oil and or peppermint essential oil often help relieve swollen lymph nodes.
I hope you feel better soon. Let us know what helps!

[YEA] 07/14/2008: Donna from Dallas, TX: "I woke up and I could literally feel my right lymph gland swelling - within 15 minutes it got about the size of a lemon and was starting to hurt and I couldn't move my neck. Not knowing what to do I happened to see some ACV staring me in the face in my fridge and knowing it was good for anything, I took 2 Tbsp. in water. Within 5 minutes the swelling went down and by 15 minutes the pain and most of the swelling was gone. 2 days later, I am continuing to take it 3 times a day and it is much better. I suspect my body is still fighting off the infection. I was amazed."Replies
08/01/2008: Pat from Madison, Al replies: "I am a bit confused. If it is better to have your system alkaline, wouldn'r lemon or ACV make it more acidic? I have a dog with Lymphoma. I am using castor oil on his nodes, but need something to get his nodes reduced further. I have an herbal formula for lymph imporvement, but have seen no change in him. Would appreciate any additional information on the use of lemon and ACV. Again, worried it will make his system more acidic. Thanks."
10/27/2008: Dan from Buffalo, NY replies: "Apple Cider Vinegar, while acidic, signals for your body to make ph buffers to counteract the acidity. This has an outstanding alkalizing effect on the body. Another thing i have found that does this is spirulina, a blue/green freshwater algae, which also has many other nutritious qualities and health benefits.
I just got a swollen lymph node for the first time and I'm gonna have to go get some acv and spirulina. I happen to be out of both....and im fairly confident I wouldn't be in this predicament if I had been taking both regularly. I can only hope as it is extremely uncomfortable."
03/25/2012: Lebrown from Sealy, Tx replies: "This is for Pat from Madison regarding lemons Acid vs alkaline.
I just found this website years after these posts, but just in case you never got an answer Pat and still read this, I wanted to answer your question. Though lemon juice is of acidic nature, (citrus is a weak acid) when it is metabolized in the body it turns alkaline. Lemon and lime juice promote the release of sodium bicarbonate from the pancreas to support enzyme activity. As well as this, lemon is converted to potassium citrate in the intestine which is also alkaline."
[YEA] 11/15/2006: Tracee from Boise, Idaho: "I was wondering if there is anybody who might be able to answer a question for me..I am a 30 year old female.. About 3 months ago I went to the doctor because I have extremely swollen lymph nodes and was in pain every day because of it..I have been put on all sorts of antibiotics, and nothing has worked.. I am getting very worried its cancer.. They have run at least 10 tests, and the lymph nodes haven't decreased, even after quitting smoking and being on all of these antibiotics.. Do you know of anything at all that I might be able to take the swelling down and get rid of the infection? Thank you for your time,Tracee"Replies
[YEA] 07/11/2007: Cherie from Brockville, Ontario, canada replies: "This is to 11/15/2006: Tracee from Boise, Idaho who is inquiring about remedies to help with her swollen lymph nodes.
This of course is just my experience but wanted to share it since it was pretty profound for me and am still amazed.
Tracee you could try using the Apple Cider Vinegar for your swollen lymph nodes. I originally started to take it for my sinuses and by the next day of using it my lymph nodes were smaller by far. I have had swollen lymph nodes for as long as I can remember and have just come to be used to it so when I noticed them shrunk it was kinda weird. I cant believe that this ACV worked just from one day!! You have nothing to lose by trying it so all I can say is good luck if you decide to. Oh and as a side note my lymph nodes would swell any time I was doing some kind of detoxing. And like you they got worse when I stopped putting unhealthy things in my body mine being certain foods and alcohol. I believe that this is due to the extra toxins and things coming out at a faster rate and the lymph nodes job being one of filtering. When you detox and eat smarter it gives your body more power to do its job of riding itself of these toxins and unfortunately it works the lymph nodes extra hard. If you want to know how much of the ACV I was using it was only a table spoon for the first day then I decided to take about 3 by putting it in my water that I take to work which is about 3 or so liters. It actual quenches my thirst better and don't need to drink as much water as I used too. I think my problem was dry mouth that made me drink more and I think that was due to yeast. I'm still working on riding my body of yeast and parasites. This weekend I start the Paracleans so it should be interesting lol. Oh and another thing is that I stopped taking one of my medications I have had to take now for 4 years. This is all due to the ACV!! And I have many other things that have happened from the ACV but wont put it here since this is getting very long. God knew what he was doing when he gave us ACV.
Take care Tracee and the best of health to you!! Cher%uFFFDe in Canada."
[YEA] 01/16/2008: Skai from Jacksonville, U.S.A. replies: "My story is just like Tracee from Boise,Idaho. I have been put on many medications also.None of the worked. My doctor told me that I should just have it removed.I got it removed just the other day and I'm feeling great!"
[YEA] 12/23/2008: Justin from Seattle, WA replies: "This website and these ideas are wonderful for everyone.
ACV is really hard to drink, but, very worth it. It has been known to cure many ailments, including Acid Reflux disease.
I would add that my swollen glands do not respond well to food. The best thing, and seemingly the only thing that gets my glands to return to normal, is fasting from solid foods and drinking ACV Baking Soda etc, while the node is processing.
For some reason, sodium rich foods or anything solid just makes my lymphnode go crazy during these times... Does anyone know why that is?
But after time, it will return to normal.
Thank you for more and more input... This is very helpful!
[YEA] 12/22/2010: Gabriel from Modesto, California replies: "Have you heard of Electro Medicine? If there are any infections within the lymph nodes, you can use a device called the "Magnetic Pulser" sold by Sota Instruments. You pulse your lymph nodes with pulses from the pulser to kill infections. Also Research "Bob Beck" and Hulda Clark's Cure for all Diseases. I hope this helps like it helped me! Love and Light!"
01/19/2011: Danielle from Sacramento, Ca,usa replies: "To justin from seattle, Your lymph nodes could get swollen or enlarge after eating a certain food that could be an allergic reaction. If your body sees a particular food like milk, wheat etc as a foreign thing it will attack it and cause inflammation. I had the same problem. My doctor just told me I have overactive lymph nodes and any allergen that comes in it attacks with full force. So I would just keep a diary of what you eat and see if any common food allergies trigger it."
10/19/2011: Funlovingal from Roseville, California replies: "Hi, I have turned to vegan for the last 6 weeks now. I am taking a homemade kefer probiotic daily and 2 oz of wheatgrass daily. I am trying to eat healthier and maintain good health. I'm not sickly or anything just wanted to eat right. Anyhow, I noticed about 4 or 5 days ago my groin lymph nodes on both sides are very very painful all the time. The only time they don't hurt is when I am asleep. Could this be from detoxing my body??? I read someone's blog about detoxing and swollen glands. Does anyone know more about this??"
11/30/2011: Wendy from Grand Rapids, Mi replies: "What is interesting about the post by Cherie above is that I also experience swollen glands when "detoxing" I'm not on a total cleanse, but am intermittent fasting and avoiding alcohol. The glands in my neck have swollen. It may be a coincidence, but there might be something interesting behind the scenes too. I'd love to know if this is related and if so, the logic behind it."
Apple Cider Vinegar and Ginger Tea
[YEA] 07/17/2013: Lisa from Orlando, Fl: "I have two stories. First, when I was 16 I had swollen glands at neck and groin for years. The Dr. had me return bi-weekly and be subjected to pelvic exams - then after 6 months of my objections - my parents could not longer get me to go after many missed visits - (Dr. recommended by Dad's sister, a nurse, so only Dr. considered). At the final visit - Dr. declared me a hypochondriac. Three years later, in college went to student health center with a female interning Dr. She immediately told me I had an inguinal hernia, and would have to get a referral for a surgeon from a Dr. Was brought back to same Dr. to get the referral - he didn't believe females could get inguinal hernias - pressed so deeply into my swollen gland that my eyes saw a curtain of black as my legs gave out with extreme pain - he let go at last second to check his medical books - came back after leaving me standing in an area with no chairs - about 15 or so minutes - and gave a referral. In this case swollen glands indicated an inguinal hernia.
Second story - 8 years after a hit and run rear-end crash - herniated discs - whiplash - pinched occipital nerve (discovered 2 years later after being unsuccessfully treated for "migraines" for 2 years) - still having symptoms of lethargy - weight gain - inability to walk without pain in knees, ankles and feet - growing pain in jaw and neck - hormonal induced swelling and pain in neck jaw and head area. Finally found an osteopath who does gentle adjustment - in one visit - imbalance in legs went away, including knee, ankle and most of hip, allowing me to work on painful callus that had formed on feet. So, I decided to go on a ketogenic diet to speed metabolism, knowing many toxins will be released, deciding not to take NSAIDS. Hormones came and horrible pain in side of head and neck. (no longer down to feet, just mid-back now). By the third day could no longer take it - Osteopath had mentioned lymph may be affected when jaw became affected - as this happened at 6 years with no further trauma - and said jaw pain is bodies last physical line of defense. Now, recognizing and able to focus on upper pains, realized the lymph on left back of head was cause of the swelling, could not lean back on a chair, hours to get to sleep, neck and jaw pain too much to sleep on my preferred left side. I read this forum and took a spoon of ACV - with an ounce of water, and 3 days of pain - fighting myself not to take NSAIDS - and RELIEF! I read hot water throughout day also helps, and cut up fresh ginger in it to keep lymph circulating. Read sleeping on left side, or lying on left side for 10 minutes after meals - puts organs in natural position to move lymph and bile to help digestion and lymph flow. I also took what essential oils I had: wintergreen, thyme and rosemary into some avacado oil, and rubbed into swollen glands and around neck. The ACV and oil worked immediately, and as the day went by the hot ginger tea seemed to give gentle relief. Last night I was able to sleep on my left side - first time in many years. Today, all but some sore swollen areas in the back of my neck and under throat, are gone, and discomfort is not considerable. Someone mentioned the ACV also will help jaw pain - my jaw clicked less than usual - though hormonally I usually have a few good days during this time period - and I will continue the ACV for the lymph and jaw. Was hesitant about taking my iodine lugols, but now am taking it without hesitation.
Thank-you, this forum saved me from spiralling back into a circle of pain, swelling, drug relief and weight gain. Now I can continue my ketosis diet, and rid my body of the fat stored toxins use the ACV and these methods to naturally allow my body to heal itself without unbearable discomfort to my mind and body.
Thanks so much people of this earthclinic forum!"
[YEA] 02/10/2013: Loretta from West Palm Beach, Fl: "Hi everybody, I have been addicted to this site for the last 3yrs and it's amazing how many health problems ACV really does cure, it's a miracle itself. My lymph nodes on my throat have flared up twice now in the last two weeks and I'm sure it's from smoking more than I usually do. I cured it the first time by boiling chopped up ginger and garlic and adding cayenne peppper. The stronger and more concentrated the tea the better if you ask me. I add tsb of agave honey to help it taste better and added virgin coconut oil and ACV after to the tea. It sounds like a crazy drink but I actually like it as I know it's going to fix me. After 1hr my pain had gone. I was so happy! I also tried it with white vinegar and raw coconut vinegar which was still effective. If you only have that in the kitchen still try it as it also eased my pain. I hope this helps someone else.
Thankyou Earthclinic, u changed my life! <3"

Apple Cider Vinegar, Castor Oil
[YEA] 08/29/2013: Paul from Illinois: "I have swollen gland in the back of my neck. I was freaked out because I got a sore throat also.
1. I drink a shot of ACV mix with honey one in the morning and one before dinner.
2. I use Castor oil rub and massage on the gland.
It seems like working for me the gland is getting smaller and almost disappear after couple day and my sore throat is gone. Thanks to ACV and Castor Oil."
07/26/2009: Ziggy from Mississippi, MS: "I've read all the recommendations for taking down the swelling of a calcified lymph node and have a question: Many have written that using castor oil as a poultice helps to shrink the lymph node -- also taking ACV. Would it be safe and would it work to MIX the ACV with the castor oil and use that as a rub?? My mother is elderly and has a large calcified lymph node on her neck -- jawline and just in front of her ear. It is very hard and nothing has helped to take it down. If anyone has any information on this method. please send your comments to this site, and I will check back. Thanks so much!"Replies
10/12/2011: Janice from Belden, Ms replies: "I have that same thing going on with me. Doctor seems as if I was crazy they can see the swelling. I have the same problem that your mother has. If you or your mother find anything that will help her or me with this problem, please let me know and I will do the same. God bless you both."
11/02/2011: Milla from Central, Nj, Usa replies: "Maybe you should try switching some of the fats in the diet to coconut oil and other sources of medium chain triglycerides. These might put less stress on the lymphatic system.
I have had problems with swelling in the past, and find that bitter diuretics, such as celery seed tea, help. Celery seed increases blood flow to the liver and thins the blood, so make sure it is ok with other medications. I am sure there are other good herbs, too. I haven't tried many of the more exotic ones (some are expensive, so I will exhaust the pantry first! ). Parsley helps (I cannot eat it raw, so I saute it in a little good butter and scramble an egg),
Raw apple cider vinegar works really well - but sometimes you have to wait a few days.
This fall, after doing a lot of research on food history, I have started making oatmeal brose. This is a traditional scottish beverage, but does not seem to be drunk much in modern times. I find it to be very soothing and slightly diuretic. I pour 1 quart of boiling water over 1/2 cp of good oats. After it cools, it becomes almost syrupy (almost the consistency of aloe juice). The oats swell up a lot, but you can squeeze them in a cheesecloth to get all the liquid. Maybe it is because I am not eating the roughage with it, but this has a very different effect on me than just eating oatmeal porridge. It also might be more acceptable to your mother than some other concoctions, as its flavor is quite pleasant. It seems to reduce tissue and lymph node swelling. I have never seen this elsewhere, so I would be interested in seeing if others have experience with it. It shouldn't have any interactions with medications.
Maybe you could reheat it with some anti-inflammatory herbs, such as cinnamon or ginger.
I never use chlorinated water; it exacerbates all the bad things. If your mother is drinking and showering or bathing in chlorinated water, you should try to get a filter installed.
Maybe a natural source of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K2 would also help.
I hope that your mother improves."

[BETTER BUT NOT CURED] 10/20/2011: Barbara from Wellington, Nz: "I've had a tender lymph node on the side of my neck, running behind my ear, for a couple of weeks now. I started taking ACV twice a day, then increased to 3x a day. While there was some slight improvement, it wasnt enough so I've now tried castor oil - rubbed a small amount on my neck and behind my ear, put a towel on my pillow and then went to sleep for the night. When I awoke it was improved but not cured. Granted, it's only been one application so I feel that if I continue with the oil it will definitely heal."Replies

Or a theives oil blend which is Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, & Rosemary Oil. I put about 20 drops each in a 1/4 cup carrier oil... and test on skin for allergies.
You could also try layering this with the castor oil."
[YEA] 10/25/2008: l from Sandusky, Ohio: "My daughter was diagnosed with Lymphatic Malformation or Cystic Hygroma, (A large growth or swollen mass just under the skin in the neck/throat area), when she was born. It was alarming to say the least. It is a congenital birth defect, and it has to do with a defect in the venous system or Lymph system. The cyst are filled with Lymph fluid. It's also very unpredictable, and a cyst can swell up or go down at any time, and new cysts can appear at any time. The cysts can get very large, and cause deformities in the face and other parts of the body, and obstruct breathing. There is no known cure, except surgery and a drug that can be injected directly into the cyst called OK-432. Usually when the child gets sick or has an infection anywhere in the body, they swell up, or new ones appear. My daughter is two now. About 2 months ago, she developed a new cyst on the other side of her face/neck. I freaked out. I'm not to keen on doctors, because of what they put her through when she was born, and (No money, or a car), I'm always searching for an alternative cure.
I've had extremely good results with Castor Oil. I'm a big believer in this stuff. I buy big bottles of it at a time, it's great. I use it, whenever I have a problem. Edgar Cacey was a Christian, and always gave credit where credit was do, to God, and he felt motivated by him. There have been many, many documented reports over the decades of Castor oil really helping a lot of people for a wide spectrum of ailments. I put her on Castor oil packs about 4 times a week for two months, and the cyst went WAY down, and has stayed that way for a while now. Now, I'm not 100% sure that was what worked for her, but we seem to notice it beginning to shrink and a response from her as soon as we started her on the packs.
The packs are messy, and it's not easy to get a child to hold still for a pack on their abdominal area. So, I used an old throw away shirt, and safety pins. I safety pinned the saturated flannel section on the inside of the front of the shirt to cover her stomach, and generously massaged a large amount of the oil all over her cysts on her neck and throat. I did this regime at night, and in the morning gave her a bath or a shower. The heating pad is not really necessary, but helps, a lot. I did not do a heat source on her, because she is so young, she would never sit still for it. The first few nights, she was restless, and agitated, and was running a mild fever. Then in the morning, the fever would break. We noticed it getting smaller from than on. It really seemed to help her those packs. She seem to have a lot of energy and be in a good mood, the mornings after the packs. If and when this happens again, I'll try the packs again. Castor oil is great. Hope this helps her. Like Cacey said, Do the packs along with a prayer for healing."Replies
05/08/2012: Vinson from New Delhi, India replies: "I'm 28, Male and have been suffering from multiple lymph nodes on both sides of the neck for the past 5 years. I've had multiple fine need biopsy and Sentinel Lymph node excision biopsy and CT scans during after 6 months of onset but was inconclusive for many possibilities including lymphoma, sarcoidosis, TB, etc. The pathology mostly said it was Reactive Lymph nodes.
Also, my SCM muscles kept swelling up because of these and then wondered if it was Fibromyalgia after seeing some posts on earthclinic. Then I started a Sugar free, diet with minimum brown rice, lentils, beans, steamed veggies etc alternating with Carrot/Beetroot juice fasting intermittently ACV water, I had significant improvement in the swelling. I almost always felt better with the Juice fasting. But I was losing weight a lot. I was down from 160 pounds to 130 in 4 months and I put on almost all the weight in the next 2 months when I resumed my regular diet (high carb, occasional junk).
Then I started Cold CASTOR OIL application on the neck daily for 5 minutes and doing mild Excercise (Stretching, spot jumping) for 15 minutes before bathing for exactly 1 month while on a Zero Sugar, med carb, med protein, veggies diet while trying not to lose weight.
The Results were AMAZING. The Swelling around lymph nodes reduced significantly though not disappeared completely I'd say I feel much better. The SCM muscle swelling and no more flaring up which happen after meals earlier.
I halted this remedy after I had a scare yesterday after I reading in some post about castor oil application might spread certain cancers which might spread the disease.
I would definitely resume this method once I am sure I am not doing more harm by spreading bacterial/malignant conditions.
Would love Ted's or anybody elses feedback."
05/08/2012: Diana from Vancouver, Canada replies: "Hi, When I read your post I felt I should reply. You said you were jumping to activate your lymphatic system. I would recommend you continue to do so. Bouncing is a great way to cleanse your lymphatic system, so jumping on a trampoline or even skipping rope daily is an excellent way to keep your lymphatic system healthy.
A lymphatic massage might also be helpful.
Hopes this helps."
[YEA] 05/06/2008: Moorea from Santa Fe, New Mexico: "I am so grateful for this site! Last night I woke with a swollen lymph the size of a tennis ball and was terrified. I'm 24 and have never had something like this happen before. But, did a google search and found your site and Castor Oil recommendation. It REALLY works! I placed castor oil on the area and placed a flannel rag over it and a heat pad. This morning my lymph was still slightly swollen, but after a bath of epson salts, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar as well as eating miso soup (a very alkalizing food) I feel 100% better. I had been sick with a cold for about two weeks and these remedies seemed to cure that as well. I think it is also important to note that these remedies work really well when you have a frame of mind that supports curing yourself, by re-focusing on the things that give you joy and the things that you love, can only help you be more grateful and less focused on the thoughts that created this illness to begin with. Thank you so much!"Replies

05/27/2013: Mama To Many from Middle, Tennessee, Usa replies: "Castor oil works well for swollen lymph nodes. Massage a small amount into the swollen area a few times a day. Peppermint essential oil works very well for this, the same way. I have done both. I seem to be very prone to swollen lymph nodes. Two decades ago, when I knew nothing of natural remedies, I just went the the doctor because my lymph nodes were swollen for 6 months with no apparent cause. I ended up having sugery (biopsy. ) I was fine. The lymph nodes swell when they are fighting infections. (I even get them when I get a canker sore. ) So, help your body fight the infection. Drink lots of water. 1/2 gallon a day. Add a couple of Tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar to this to improve its flushing ability. Also, you can try taking garlic like an antibiotic several times a day. 1 crushed clove mixed with honey on a little piece of bread 3-4 times a day. Or you could get a garlic supplement at the health food store. They odorless type, if you prefer. (Though I think fresh is the best, but the other okay if the fresh is beyond what you would take.)
Hope that helps!"
