[YEA]  07/27/2011: Pamann from Clermont, Florida: "Took organic unsulphered BSM for months and did not notice any difference, in fact, more gray hairs than ever seemed to be coming in. Purchased some chlorophyll just to try out, and my gray hairs are all but gone. And now my hair is a deep, shiny chocolate brown, healthier than it ever was before. I take one to two tablespoons a day. I believe it is the copper that is helping me. I use Nature's Way Chlorofresh, in case anyone is interested. Have been taking this for about two months. This may not work for everyone, but it sure has for me."

08/22/2011: Bf from Moncks Corner, Sc replies: "In what form do you use chlorophyll and how much?"
06/11/2012: Nour from G.b, Mauritius replies: "What is Nature's Way Chlorofresh. Where is it available? I have been using black molasses for almost a year but no results regarding my grey hair. It's still there in large quantities. I don't know if am using the right molasses. It's the only that is available in Mauritius. Can I purchase blackstrap molasses from other countries? How. Please help."

[YEA]  08/01/2006: Ryein from Michigan: "Gary Null says to drink chlorophyll every day. That's what he does and doesn't seem to have a gray strand of hair on his head. I'm going to do that and I let you know how it works."

08/21/2008: George from Lanesville, United States replies: "It's worth a try. I may add chlorophyll to my anti gray hair regimen, which for now consists of blackstrap molasses, biotin, and 100 mgs of zinc. I just started this regimen 2 days ago, so it's much too early to gauge how it works. I haven't tried the Brewer's yeast yet as so many others have. I'm still up in the air as to whether I'll incorporate that as well, first I want to see how the above mentioned works before choking down Brewers yeast and orange juice. Regarding Gary Null, I've seen him in person several times, and while he has a good full head of hair, it's kind of a weird looking color when you see him up close. If I had to guess, I would think he uses some kind of dye. On the other hand, he certainly has plenty of hair for a guy whose age I estimated at around 67."
[YEA]  07/05/2010: Alorah from Ny replies: "I am a big believer in chlorophyll to keep the hair from turning gray. I have been a user of green juices for about 7 years. I notice that if I stop taking them for a week or so, a white hair will pop in. As soon as I start the green drinks again, the white hair will literally change back to its normal brown within days. Chlorophyll drinks carry lots of oxygen to the cells removing toxins. They also have lots of minerals so they will bring the copper and zinc in also.

The other thing I notice is that if you have a very stressful life, you will need a higher amount of these juices. So for me, I need to up my green juice quantity when really stressed. Another good side effect of the chlorophyll is that my skin is radiant with literally no wrinkles at all and I have lots of energy. I'm in my mid 50's and most people think that I am at least 10 years younger."

07/14/2010: Kt from Irvine, Ca replies: "Hi Alorah, Would you please tell us what kind of green juices are you drinking? Are these fresh? Do you have a juicer at home? If so, what all do you add? Do you take Chlorophyll powder and add to your juice? What in the world do you do? If your juice is ready made, what are its contents since this website doesn't allow you to name the product. Thanks a lot for shedding any light."
10/08/2010: David T. from Pago Pago, American Samoa replies: "Talofa- I'm new on the site but am very grateful for all the information. Just one question- what is the actual quantity of chlorophyll used and how much water or fluid is used for the mixture? Or is it taken straight. How often during the day? Thanks everyone for your feed back."

11/07/2010: Ellen from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada replies: "Although Coconut oil is wonderful, and great for your health and so many ailments, it will not turn your hair back to it's orginial color. The only thing that will do this is restoring your body with minerals. You need to have all your minerals topped up by supplying it with kelp and redstar flake yeast. Both are very high in minerals, but kelp has the added addition of iodine which is so important to health. I take 1/2 tsp of kelp in my diet every day plus I substitute redstar flake yeast for cheese. I got to tell you that my hair, skin, and health have never looked and felt better. Try this as you will not be disappointed. The hair is a barometer of your health. If you have a lot of minerals your hair will not have gray in it and it will be soft and supple and shiny. If you are not supplying your diet with minerals, then you will have gray hair prematurely and the hair shaft will be rough and dry and dull. Believe me, I went from dull to shiny in about 6 months by supplementing my diet with minerals, and not from supplements either as I took none - only minerals from a high brix diet (look this up) and Laminaria digitata kelp, plus the redstar flake yeast. Good luck, Ellen"
11/08/2010: Francisca from Michelbach-le-bas, Alsace, France replies: "I have no idea Keith, I wish I knew because I have the same problem but if you are man, I have to say that from a woman's point of view gray hair can be quite attractive! I met my husband when he was already gray and to be honest I find that he looks a lot more distinguished than when he was young. Unfortunately I am a woman and gray hair only makes us look old!"
11/25/2010: Jay from Toronto, Ont, Canada replies: "Human hair grows at a rate of approxiately one half inch per month. If you are following any natural product use that is supposed to return your hair to its natural color, you should see your hair roots in your natural hair color in five to six weeks. I did not use Coconut Oil for that purpose but it does have many beneficial effects. Jay"

[YEA]  11/17/2007: Saima from Edinburgh, uk: "I am a 70 year old grand and great grand mother with absolutely not a single grey hair ! My secret... Coconut oil which I had applied daily in my youth on my hair (though I haven't used it for sometime now ). My son's head is almost entirely grey . He doesn't listen... Try it .It's cheap because I never used the expensive organic or extra virgin variety . It beats the expensive supplements! I've recommended to many very happy friends."

Replies
03/06/2008: Ann from Brisbane, Australia replies: "Hello, I am interested in the coconut oil treatment for grey hair that Saima recommends. Would you have to apply it every day and wouldn't this be very greasy and inconvenient?"
[NAY]  06/04/2009: Imran from Ghani, Lahore Punjab Pakistan replies: "dear saima cocnut oil works to strengthen your hair and helps in controlling hair loss but at the same time it turns your hair grey because me and my many friends have tried it therefore just be carefull before u use it as remeby for the grey hair. rehards imran ghani"
[YEA]  06/05/2009: Sandy from Bangalore, India replies: "Coconut oil does NOT turn hair grey. It infact makes black hair look jet black. I am 35 years old, and have been using coconut oil on my hair since childhood (as is traditional in South India), and my hair is jet black with not a single grey strand. My dad is 70 years old and uses coconut oil on his hair daily since his childhood, and he has black hair, not grey. I repeat, coconut oil is good for hair and maintains it dark."
[YEA]  07/15/2009: Monsoon from Pune, India replies: "Coconut Oil is the best for hair. Not only for gray hair, but everything for hair. It prevents and controls hair loss, it conditions the hair, it stimulates hair growth, helps to grow long hair, helps the scalp issues and what not. Coconut Oil scalp massages are very common in India and prevelent in almost all homes.

The most simple way is - Warm some coconut oil, add a few drops of limejuice, 3-4 curry leaves. Apply on scalp while its still warm.

It will instantly relieve your head, and help your hair.
Hope this helps.
God Bless"

[YEA]  12/07/2009: Scott from La, Ca replies: "I started a few days ago rubbing Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on my scalp and massaging for 30-40 minutes, then letting it sit for 2 hrs, then washing it out. That evening, I noticed that not all the oil washed off, but it didn't bother me. Oil is difficult to wash off completely, but it is a good thing for hair, because it gave it nutrition.

The next day I noticed that my hair felt thicker and blacker. I saw one of my roommates who is 40 with complete gray hair and he said, what did I do with my hair. He said it looks black. He said it wasn't as black before and that I must be getting younger. I just looked at him and smiled, not telling what I did. As I write, I got the VCO on my head for 1 more hr before I wash it out.

I also take it internally too!"

11/26/2010: Brian from Barrie, Ontario, Canada replies: "I would venture to say as far as alzheimers go Aluminum has been fingered as the culprit by many, inclusing Dr. Clarke. This is in everything, especially underarm deodorant, cooking
Appliances. Pots , pans etc."
10/19/2012: Mark from Las Vegas replies: "You do your research. Lack of copper has been linked to aneurisms in a very real way not a we kind of think way like they do with Alzheimer's disease. Lack of copper also causes the skin to age faster and sag. Cornsyrup depletes copper and it's in practically everything. Raw Cacao and Molasses are both high in copper and good for you if you don't have sugar issues."

10/02/2012: Ed from Midlands, Uk: "Hi Earthclinicians. I think I've found a way of increasing/decreasing grey hair. When I drink alcohol or caffeine my hair is very much greyer the next day.

When I drink wheatgrass over a few days or I juice vegetables, my hair goes back to its original colour again. It also gets thicker. I've had this confirmed by others who've seen the change.

I think it's about about blood pH and keeping on an alkaline diet.

This is my observation anyway."

[YEA]  01/18/2008: Rosemary from Toledo Ohio, USA: "In my opinion the best remedy for Grey Hair, and this will restore it to its younger time in some people.

Plenty of whole grain Breads and Cereals which contain lots of wheat germ and bran for Brown Haired people, and some blondes who decend from Brown Haired Parents.

Some Blondes decend from Black Haired and Red Haired Parents and they need plenty of Thiamine and Folic acid in their foods.

People who have brown hair and decend from parents who have brown hair need lots of Niacin one of the B-Complex Vitamins.

I also make sure I'take a good multiple vitamin every day plus I get enough Vitamin C and Calcium and I also make sure I take a good B-Complex and at an advanced age I have found I can turn my hair back to Gray or color it naturally simply through diet, more rest and less stress.

This all comes to me from a Guide in the Spirit World much like Psychic Edgar Cayce got his information from."

02/11/2012: Mandy from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada replies: "I found this post interesting but you left out people with red or black hair.

My hair is red so what would you recommend for all of the redheads out there? You seem to only focus on blondes and brunettes which is rather silly as those are not the only hair colors out there."

Farmer's Almanac Cure

03/07/2009: Barry from Pacific Grove, CA, USA replies: "THERE IS NO MAGIC CURE. A TOXIC LIFESTYLE, HOW YOU APPROACH STRESSORS (REACT), LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. YOU MAY NEED TO TAKE GLUTAMINE AND CAL/MAG/ZINC COMBO FOR A WHILE AND STOCK PILE YOUR BONE SALTS FIRST. THEN ADD SELENIUM OPPOSITE (AM/PM) YOUR ZINC, THEN AND ONLY THEN COPPER, BORON AND YOU MAY NOT BE MEETING YOUR REE, THIS SHOULD HAPPEN FIRST. YOUR WEIGHT IN POUNDS X .45 HIGHEST FIBER VEGGIES AND GRAINS YOU CAN (HIGH THERMIC AND CRUCIFEROUS VEGGIES). THEN LOOK AT A TRACE MINERAL SUPPLEMENT, SO MINERALS ARE ALL PRESENT FIRST. THEN LOOK INTO SMALL AMOUNTS OF THE HIGHEST BIOLOGICAL VALUE PROTEIN TAKEN REGULARLY THROUGH THE DAY, NOT THE NIGHT. STAY A LITTLE MORE ACID PH IN THE AM AND AT 3 SHIFT TO ALKALINE. STAY AWAY FROM COFFEE, NO ALCOHOL EVER!!! DO BLACK TEA, IF YOU MUST. MAKE SURE THERE IS CONSTANT PERIPHERAL BLOOD FLOW, WORK ON THIS, QIGONG IS A GREAT TOOL, OR PILATES OR YOGA (OR ALL).EAT ALMONDS, WALNUTS, AVOCADO, FLAX OIL FOR YOUR FATS DAILY! I WILL MIX BSM WITH WHEATGERM, 20 DROPS TRACE MINERALS AND 1 TABLESPOON OF FLAX OIL WITH A HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN POWDER AND SIP ON THIS THROUGH THE DAY, IT IS ONE OF MANY "CURE CONCOCTIONS" I HAVE DEVELOPED WITH MY OWN RESEARCH, I DO HAVE A LOT OF NUTRITION EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION AS WELL. EACH CYCLE, OR SHIFT I MENTION IS IN 6 WEEK CYCLES, GIVE IT 3-6 MONTHS IF YOU ARE THIS IMBALANCED AND ARE GREY AT 25 YEARS OLD, SHAME ON YOU I AM 40 AND HAVE ALMOST NO GRAY HAIR, MY ENTIRE FAMILY, EXCEPT ME AND MY RAW FOOD CHEF LITTLE SISTER ARE ALL GREY. BUT STAY POSITIVE BECAUSE THIS IS A GOOD MOTIVATOR TO FOCUS ON YOUR ENERGY BALANCE, THAT'S ALL IT EVER IS, ENERGY BALANCE (IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, THINK ABOUT IT) = ) IN GOOD HEALTH BARRY

06/12/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York: "Polygonum multiflorum..herb.(Japanese Knotweed, Fo-ti, He Shou Wu ('Black-haired Mr. He'),) I haven't used it long enough to say whether it works but have tried it for hair loss and for this I cannot say whether it works since I haven't been consistent with it's use..A traditional Chinese herb used in tonics for rejuvenation, grey hair, erectile dysfunction. etc. I would try to buy an american brand..(better regulated quality free of toxins)

06/13/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia replies: "Hi Rob From Manhatten,

I've been experimenting with the herb Polygonum Multiflorum, and it does seem to be working but it is very slow. I was at about 35% gray, but recent pictures tells me I have decreased in gray, and natural hair color is coming back little by little. At first I thought I might be under 10% gray now, but the pictures tells me it's more like 20% still gray (wishful thanking I guess). I am making my own tincture, and it seems to be working better than the health food store pills. I still want to give it more time, and am not giving up.

I started taking the health food store capsules back in Mid January, 2009, with little effect. Then started making my own Tincture about Mid March, whereas I started noticing some results. So in essence I have decreased gray hair by about 15% in the last 3 months. It is stated on herb pages that it takes approximately 6 months for desired results. I am hoping I can report even better progress within the next 3 months.
My partner who is 62 has thinning hair along with gray hair, has only been taking my tincture for about 2 months. He told me his feels like it is getting thicker, and pictures are showing a slight difference. We are both hopeful, but again it is too early to be conclusive. I will report back in a few more months and let those who are interested know. Peace, Rena."

EC: Please read the article: Potential rare liver reactions to "He Shou Wu" (Polygonum multiflorum)

06/14/2009: Rob from Manhattan, New York replies: "thanks EC...I wonder if it is from the herb itself or from possible contaminants? Good to know if any symptoms do arise... perhaps should alternate with Milk Thistle to protect the liver...?"
[NAY]  08/30/2009: Rena from Mineral Bluff, Georgia, USA replies: "I have to retract my Yea for fo-ti to a Nay. I was not meaning to be deceitful but I only figured out recently that it is due to where the flash of the camera is placed on my hair. The camera flash really picks up the gray, and if the camera is further away, my hair looks darker. However, recently I took another photo at exactly the same distance from a picture I took back in June and there was no change in the gray. I wish there was a way to post pictures on Earth Clinic to show what I mean. Guess I will have to put up with aging and the gray, such is life, Peace, Rena."

EC: We can absolutely post photos, but you have to email them to us!

General Feedback

10/26/2011: Sandy from Boston, Ma: "I'm in my 20s and my friends and I have noticed we're all going prematurely gray. Even various beauticians said they notice the trend of many younger people coming in to dye their gray hair. What's going on? Personally speaking, I do eat quite a bit of junk food but I eat good food too. Is food getting less nutritious or something? How can we stop this very, very premature graying?"

Replies
02/18/2013: Jen from Calgary, Ab, Canada replies: "To Sandy from Boston, From what I have read, premature grey hair can result from stress and a low level of minerals in the diet. Today's diet consists commonly of processed foods and and foods that are quick grown with standard fertilizers. These growing techniques result in foods that are lower in minerals than our grandparents ate. We also are in higher stress states due to the pace of society.

05/08/2011: Mark from Fayetteville, Georgia: "All of my hair on my right side has turned grey/white and the left side has not changed. What could have caused this?"

08/26/2011: Chris from Sydney, Australia replies: "Mark it is a good question and one I hope somebody will be along to answer. I wondered about your very question because my situation is quite similar. Although I have quite a lot of grey everywhere it is very prominent on my right side also and I mean remarkably prominent and noticable too. There seems to be no logic as to why one side would grey so much quicker than the other and I am very curious to know the answer too. I have tried to work it out myself but I am at a loss really only coming up with wild speculations but I agree something seems to be causing it. "

03/03/2009: denmdgn from Buffalo, NY: "Hi Everyone. I like many suffer from gray hair. It bothers me but being a guy I can buzz it off and shrug it off as looking distinguished. Bull, I want my brown hair back. My main reason for this post is in response to someone saying that we are all wasting our time and that gray hair is hereditary. Well, Scientists have discovered the reason for going GRAY... "It is simply building up too much hydrogen peroxide." http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/29468796/?GT1=43001.

Now, I haven't tried BSM yet but I will. Maybe BSM works because it is diluting the hydrogen peroxide in our body and hair. I don't know but, it is nice to know that there is scientific proof that gray hair could possibly be stopped or reversed with a sure product in the near future

02/13/2007: Vivian from Tampa, FL: "I started getting gray hair at the age of 39 and started to dye it my natural color. After a few years of dying my hair I came to the conclusion that I am beautiful and that I will look beautiful even if I had gray hair, so I stopped dying it. Even though I feel beautiful with gray hair, I notice a few hairs changing brown again. I think the key is not to believe your old, but to believe you are beautiful, no matter gray or not, then your hair color will change."
