Cure Hemorrhoids: Home Remedies That Work!
What Are Hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids are swollen or inflamed veins in the anus and lower rectum that can be itchy, painful, and potentially cause bleeding during bowel movements. There are two types of hemorrhoids, internal and external. External hemorrhoids are located under the skin around the anus, and the delicate skin there can be easily irritated and bleed during a bowel movement. Blood clots can form in external hemorrhoids and cause a great deal of pain and inflammation. On the other hand, internal hemorrhoids are less noticeable, but straining during a bowel movement can irritate the delicate surface of the hemorrhoid and cause bleeding or pass the hemorrhoid outside the anus; this is called a protruding or prolapsed hemorrhoid and can be very painful.
Hemorrhoid symptoms include painless bleeding during bowel movements that results in bright red blood, itching, irritation, or swelling in the anus, the formation of a sensitive or painful lump near the anus, and sometimes anal leakage.

[YEA] 02/04/2013: Gaetano from St. Louis, Missouri, Us: "The 6" step to allow squatting on the toilet is what seems to work best for me. I'm 19 and my first hemorrhoid appeared two months ago: small protrusion from the anus that retracted within days. The itchiness and minor swelling persisted though. Sitting was uncomfortable and pretty much throughout the whole day my bum was itchy or irritated. I never saw a proper doctor, but from talking to my dad (an ob/gyn) determined it was probably a small internal one. I tried the garlic suppositories (5 days), Candida Cleanse diet (5 days only eating vegetables; didn't do the detox drinks or other supplements), Apple Cider Vinegar, Witch Hazel Wipes, and generic hemorrhoid cream, but nothing seamed to work effectively (though the garlic suppositories did make bowel movements much easier with no straining).
I started using the 6 inch step (two shoeboxes for my tall toilet) and the irritation and itching have declined significantly. Now only a few times per day do I even take notice of any irritation and it is minor and goes away if I don't think about it.
It is more natural for us to squat when defecating. It loosens the muscle in the colon that controls continence and allows an open path for stool with less straining. Non-western countries where squatting is the norm have very low rates of hemorrhoids (compared to America where more than half the population will have them at some point).
Of course a healthy diet and exercise have been shown (more empirically than squatting) to increase ease of bowel movements and prevention of hemorrhoids, but the 6" step is probably the most efficient way of alleviating hemorrhoids.
Google 'squatty potty' or 'slate don't just sit there' for some informational videos/articles on the subject."
[YEA] 06/19/2007: Heather from Corpus Christi, Texas: "I have been plauged for years with hemmroids. I read in an Ayurveda book about propping the legs, so I started keeping a 6" footstool (cheap plantstand purchased in a craft store) by the toilet. I put it in front of the toilet and put my feet on it, and it has given me great relief from hemmroids over the last six months I've been using it."
Replies09/05/2010: Hmmm444 from Vancouver, Bc, Canada replies: "I know everyone out there isn't going to like this, but hemorrhoids are symptoms of CANDIDA overgrowth. That's the reason that cleansing the area with apple cider vinegar is often effective - it balances the pH because although it's an acid, it has an alkalizing effect. Drinking apple cider vinegar also helps to alkalize your blood, but you need to eat other alkalizing foods too (and minimize acid forming foods) to experience true alkalization. So, another effective remedy that will not burn the way apple cider vinegar does, is one that also works for women's yeast infections. It was given to me by a conventional doctor and I modified it. The doctor told me that filling a capsule (which you can purchase at a pharmacy or at a health food store) with BORIC ACID and then inserting the capsule into the vagina will balance the pH and stop yeast infections. He said to do it every day that a yeast infection is present, and then once a week afterwards. Tou can buy boric acid at a pharmacy without a prescription. It's a powder. Since I have done this many years ago, I haven't experienced a single yeast infection (touch wood) and I've stopped using the capsules. Later on, I discovered that mixing the boric acid in coconut oil can be used for treating yeast AND hemorrhoids (mix it into a paste and store it in a small glass jar - I use extra virgin, organic coconut oil). The hemorrhoids you are experiencing are really just a kind of yeast infection in your anus. So, if you have hemorrhoids, you need to first look at your diet. Eliminate the easier forms of sugar - stop eating white flour and processed foods - spelt is a DELICIOUS substitute for white flour, and increase your intake of vegetables, particularly fresh. They will add bulk to push food quickly through your system. Drink lots of water, cut out pop and sugary drinks, and add a bit of fresh lemon to your water. Lemon juice will help to alkalize your system too. For fiber, grind a couple of tablespoons of flax seeds in a coffee grinder (I have one dedicated just for flax seeds) and mix with water. You can add a tiny amount of psyllium for bulk, but make sure it's organic, because psyllium is very highly sprayed with pesticides. Take a good probiotic, such as Garden of Life, FAITHFULLY, to repopulate the good flora in your system. Consider doing a gentle cleanse - one where you work up to only green vegetable juices and water for a few days (along with ground flax seeds for fiber). Also, take a good magnesium supplement to soften and regulate your stools. You will know when you are taking enough magnesium when you go number two several times a day but it's not liquid. Prune juice is an excellent addition too. A great magnesium supplement is Calm by Peter Gillingham. Please let me know how this works for you!"
05/28/2011: Liz from Cozumel, Quintana Roo replies: "to hmm444. thank you for this right on advice. had forgotten some of your very important points, , , "
[YEA] 06/02/2011: Patti from Toledo, Ohio, Usa replies: "Hmmmm444 from Vancouver Canada, I want to try the boric acid & coconut oil mixture for treating yeast and hemorrhoids. How do you apply it? If you insert it, how do you recommed doing that? Thanks for your very thorough explaination of treating yeast and your good natural remedies. Also, I tried Joe's suggestion of using a 6" step under my feet to relax the bowel/rectum and ease evacuation and it worked great. I used a sturdy shoe box 5" high from some shoes for my husband as I didn't have a wood box. I'm going to continue to use this. Easy, natural & effective. Thanks Joe."
06/15/2011: Apileofproblem from Singapore replies: "I want to add onto what Hmmm444 had discovered: Candida overgrowth is a major cause of hemorrhoid.
That was an important finding.
To check whether you have candida overgrowth in your body, look at your tongue in the morning. If it has a thick white coating and looks bloated that is a sign.
In TCM, that's traditionally a sign of internal dampness that is the cause of many diseases. It is said that the drying function of the body, called the "Spleen" is failing.
Dampness is fertile ground for yeast to overgrow causing flatulence, inflammation and even bleeding. The latter are the body's attempts to rid of the fermentation that these bad bacteria produce.
The dampness and candida overgrowth in the intestine also disrupt the normal functions of the bowels resulting in constipation.
That's my theory after experiencing hemorrhoid for many years and now tackling it the right way.
Hmmm444 has offered valuable suggestions like cutting down on sugar, white wheat flour (SCD diet forbids it completely as it is the major cause of IBD/IBS), processed and acidic foods.
I want to add an important remedy: GARLIC.
(Unless you are allergic to it, you should try it. As for allergy, I wonder if it is the effect of garlic working and perhaps one should go slow and build up the dosage slowly. )
I think garlic is not an ordinary herb but a living force in itself. It produces Allicin only when cut or crushed. Allicin is anti-bacterial and works even on bacteria resistant to the doctor's antibiotics. Garlic also has other numerous ingredients good for the body. This has been well researched by experts over the years.
Garlic kill off candia and dries up the dampness in the intestines.
Peel 2 cloves of garlic and chop it into fine pieces. Leave it in the open for 15 minutes to allow the Allicin that destroy bad bacteria to be produced.
After 15 minutes consume it and here's the TRICK on how to do it without problem. You see, even though I know for many years that garlic is very good for the body, I deprived myself of raw garlic because I found it quite impossible to eat it by drinking it with liquid because of its very pungent taste.
Now I am able to do so by SWALLOWING the chopped garlic with liquid. I usually take some food like a glass of unsweetened soya milk first; then I wash down the chopped garlic in several gulps. That was easy, my tongue did not get burnt by it.
Eat 2 cloves this way, two to three times daily. Next morning when you check your tongue, the white coating would be not be there; that's a good sign.
Your hemorrhoid inflammation would be improved and any bleeding due to water retention in that area would be remedied.
One doctor even recommended inserting a garlic clove into the rectum at night. See his video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH7wKQTc4f4.
I hesitated to do that for a long time but when I tried the method, I found to my surprise there was indeed no or very little irritation.
----------
To end, I think hemorrhoid, IBD, IBS are basically symptoms of the same problem - water retention and overgrowth of bad bacteria - but at different stages of development. I am also a sufferer of IBS for many years and when I use garlic and non-acidic and no-wheat diet, my problem improved. Especially with garlic the improvement has been dramatic."
07/18/2011: Caused By Candida? from San Francisco, Ca replies: "Hello to the person who states that hemorrhoids are a result of a candida over growth issue!I now have stage four hemorrhoids- rubber band ligation did not work for me. I suspect I have widespread systemic candida (though I don't get horrible yeast infections... ); it just really feels like I have a yeast infection in my anus. And now you mention it. It has only been mentioned in a few searches after about 40 hours of internet searching on this issue. Will you please let me know more of what you know about this. Where did you get your information?
At this time, I adhere to a very strict anti candida diet, taking lots probiotics, plus dry skin brushing, yoga, and I still got a new external thrombosed hemorrhoid.
I seek information! I don't want to have to get a hemorrhoidectomy. AT ALL.
Cheers."
07/18/2011: Jay from Toronto, Ont, Canada replies: "Have your tried using the bioflavinoid Rutin? There seems to be several on line testimonials of successfully treating herorrhoids with rutin and seeing results very quickly."
07/19/2011: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "Have you got a really itchy anus? If so this is most definiatly a fungal infection. Untreated it could last for many years, the constant scratching can just exacerbate the problem, which will just make the piles worse. As a start get some virgin coconut oil and start taking, about four teaspoons a day.. And rub some around the anus as well. Its no coincidence that a well known brand of pile cream contains coconut oil. But topical application wont remove the fungus in the gut."
07/27/2011: Spiro from Wellington, New Zealand replies: "Hey guys,I am of Indian origin and have inherited hemorrhoids from both my mom's and dad's side of the family. I should be so lucky - not!
But fortunately enough, my Grandmother - who always seems to have home remedies for minor ailments - let me into the secret of living a hemorrhoid-free-life.She always said the worst offenders are chicken, chicken egg and beef, which turn out to be spot on for me! You could still eat the other types of meat such as - pork, lamb, duck, turkey, etc. In an instance that you have a bout of hemorrhoids as you were unable to steer away from chicken, chicken egg or beef, try to eat duck eggs with whole mustards in them. It works true wonders!
I have to say at times I am just too gluttonous to be able to completely eliminate the hemorrhoid offenders and subsequently I end up losing blood when I empty my bowels. In such instances I make a duck egg omelet for a couple of days and viola! I am completely free of hemorrhoids. This method is tried and tested on my mom, dad, uncles, aunties and a whole lot of family friends. Give it a try!Duck egg omelet recipe:
Beat the egg and a pinch of salt in a glass.
Pour a teaspoon of oil (any oil will do) into a hot pan.
When the oil is hot, add a teaspoon full of mustard - be warned that mustard will pop and splutter like pop corn. So once you add the mustard to the oil just close the pan with a lid.
Wait for the popping to subside and pour in the omelet and cook the egg thoroughly.
And you are well on your way to clearing those nasty hemorrhoids. Remember: keep away from chicken, chicken egg and beef and eat loads of vegetables and green leaves to enable easier bowel movement.
Good luck guys!"
08/23/2011: Apileofproblem from Singapore replies: "Further to my post dated 06/15/2011 above, here's more information which hopefully will be helpful for other sufferers.
I think hemorrhoid is a symptom of a more systemic problem - bad intestinal bacteria that putrefies, unload its wastes or toxins, thus causing inflammation and its attendant problems. These disorders are known to us as IBS and IBD.
So, I am going to write this post with a wider scope in mind namely how I treated my IBS & IBD.
There is a news report months back saying that there is now a suspicion in conventional medicine that serious diseases may be caused by bad bacteria in the intestines. I think this is on the right track. The only problem is that even if they finally confirm that bad bacteria are the root culprits, conventional medicine will continue to resort to man-made antibiotics instead of natural ones to kill bad bacteria.
Anyway my own experience in using raw garlic 3 times daily over the last 3 months is that the colon discomfort/pain I used to suffer for more than 30 years is completely gone. Serious.
Months previous to that, I had tried a strict wheat and sugar free diet recommended by SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet). That did help but I felt that it was a case of depriving the bad bacteria of food they feed on, thus weakening them. However the diet did not finish them off effectively. The moment I took some bread for example, the symptoms came back the next day.
After 3 months on raw garlic, now I found that I no longer have problem eating bread, sugar and those foods - even at night - that I was once so sensitive to. This is quite a marvel to say the least.
In the past, I also tried high doses of expensive probiotics but gave up after several months because they were too weak to deal with the bad bacteria. Yet garlic a cheap kitchen spice completely turned my life around. You just have to take it religiously several times daily for a few months. It is known that garlic not only kills off the bad bacteria - Candida, E Coli, even MRSA - but also promotes the good bacteria. There are numerous reports on that over the Internet.
Another wonder herb that I have found to help intestinal inflammation (hemorrhoid included) is WHITE OAK BARK.
Take white oak bark capsules with garlic daily for a few month and you may see your IBS & IBD (hemorrhoids included) go into remission, even for long-standing cases.
It may come as a surprise that the great efficacy of these 2 herbs - raw garlic & white oak bark - for intestinal complaints were strongly recommended in the book "Secrets of the Chinese Herbalists" by Richard Lucas written more than 30 years ago!
However it took me a long time to undersrtand I need to use the correct regimen, that is consuming them on a daily basis in regular dosages for a few months to see dramatic results for chronic cases like mine.
So if you are running out of options, why not give yourself a try with these 2 herbs for 2 to 3 months. If you are successful please come back and let others know."
08/23/2011: Sp from Gc, Ci replies: "Hi, How much raw garlic did you consume daily? Did you take a break, say without garlic for 1 or 2 days of the week? Thanks."
08/25/2011: Apileofproblem from Singapore replies: "I take anything from 2 to 4 cloves of fresh garlic 2 to 3 times daily. For easy consumption, chop them into tiny bits and then gulp them down with water. Try not to sip the garlic slowly because as you know it very pungent. Remember also to take some food before that so that your stomach can take the pungency.I did not take a break from daily garlic consumption for over 2 months. I have not experienced any problem with it. Some people may have allergy to garlic like getting diarrhea. However as I pointed in my first post, this could be a temporary reaction, so if one go slow taking a little bit and build up the dosage over time, the reaction might go off. Just a suggestion for those allergic to garlic."
09/11/2011: Ac from Petaling Jaya, Selangor, malaysia replies: "Hi, I have tried taking 2 cloves of raw garlic for my piles twice a day. Today is my 3rd day but my stools are hard. I don't know if it is the garlic that causes it. Is garlic heathy for the body? I have this piles problem for almost 10 years now. I have done rubber banding a few years back but it doesn't help. After reading your comments, I feel it is no harm giving it a try. I tried the saliva test this morning but didn't see the candida syntoms. But my tongue has a white coating in the morning."
12/06/2011: Jaye from Brooklyn, New York replies: "Is it okay to take garlic PILLS instead of digesting RAW garlic?? Also is odorless ok to take?? Can you take longer than 3 months and include in your daily regimen?"
12/12/2011: Grizzelda from Cleveland, Ohio replies: "I have had hemmorhoids for 30 years and was resigned to living with them until I saw that many people had good luck with unsulphered organic blackstrap molasses. I started with 1 Tablespoon twice a day and within a week they were GONE! I now take this dose 3 times a week and that seems to keep them at bay. I don't always enjoy the flavor of the molasses but if I hold my nose and swallow a lot of water immediately after taking it, it is not too bad. I'm willing to do whatever I have to in order to not have them recur. Hope this helps someone out there!"
[YEA] 08/13/2006: Nick from Tasmania, Australia: "A 6 inch step in front of my toilet bowl to raise my knees while seated on toilet. Passing a motion. It reduces Hemorrhoids and assists with your bowel motions. Saw this a long time ago. Theory is your system works easier with knees raised, as your bowels inside are less restricted in flow. Like Asian squat type toilets. It works. Made a small wooden raised stand. We move to side when not in use..Wife and I used it for 5 years so far and both recommend it. To try idea, at first get eg 2 house bricks. Whist seated on toilet put both feet on one in front. Your knees raise and your "flow" is easier."

[YEA] 09/25/2012: Crew Chief from Silsbee, Texas: "Thought I had stomach ulcer. Knawing terrible pain. First I stopped drinking coffee and any caffeine for about a week which was difficult but helped a lot. At the same time I took aloe vera gel caps, garlic caps, fish oil caps, gse, and occasionally very small pieces of fresh garlic clove swallowed whole with meals morning and evening. I ate Campbells chicken noodle, and vegetable soups, rasin bran with very little milk, eggs, and plenty of power aide and water. Followed this for about two weeks and now feel normal. Started feeling some relief within a few days. Now I can drink a cup of coffee(not too strong and with milk added) with my wife in the morning. I was dealing with hemroids at the same time and they have cleared up also. One thing I found to really help hemroids is 100% aloe vera clear jel from Wal Mart and applied to toilet paper for a final clense after b movements. Have a good day!"
[YEA] 02/27/2010: Faithinhealing from Forest Park, Ohio, Usa: "My ex-husband used aloe vera gel to cure his hemorrhoid. He was really sick and didn't have health insurance. I looked up a cure on the net and had aloe and gave him the gel which he inserted. He said the next day the pain was gone and he had been in pain for almost a week! Within a few days the hemorrhoid was gone!"
Replies04/18/2011: Sophia from Kansas City, Kansas replies: "Please let me know where can I get aloe vera gel & Apple cider Vinegar ? should I mix them up by myself or pharmacy store carry it ? Please someone answer my question? I am scared!!"
04/18/2011: Stan from Huntingdon, Pa. Usa replies: "hello Sophia, I was in the same situation after prostate surgery and radiation. The solution for my problem was to use a wipe to absolutely cleanse, everytime and then use tucks anti-itch ointment. (just 2 pinheads worth) is all you need. It has ingredients that are the greatest shrinking agents. In 48 hrs you will notice a big difference. Wishing you well. stan"
04/19/2011: Beth from Lakewood, California, Usa replies: "You should be able to get both in a health food store. Apple Cider vinegar is available in many if not all grocery stores here in the USA. I know also in health food stores you will be able to get aloe vera gel (the edible form, dont buy the excessively green type that is marketed near the sunscreens) Unless of course you want the aloe for topical use after a sunburn? I mean, I wouldnt eat the ones near the sunscreen aisle. But even a Whole Foods Market, Henry's, Sprouts, Fresh N Easy, Albertson's, Kroger, etc should carry the type that is meant to injest. I would think these 2 things are pretty mainstream these days. hope this helps."
04/19/2011: Iiiliziii from Boston, Ma replies: "The absolute best treatment for hemorrhoids (and believe me, I used to get my share of them) is a sitz bath filled with warm water and some witch hazel. You can pick up a sitz bath at CVS, Walgreen's, etc. for only about $10-15 and get the witch hazel there as well.
You fill the sitz with nice warm water, add about a cup of witch hazel, then sit and soak for about 20 minutes a couple of times a day. Do it as often as you like, and keep a good sized glass or small container near you so that you can add warm water from the sink to the sitz when you feel that it's cooled. You want to keep the water warm for the entire 20 min's.
You will feel almost *instant* relief while soaking and within a couple of soaks, be feeling MUCH better.
Going forward, once the 'roid' is gone, the minute you feel something brewing down there, start with the sitz baths, and really... you'll be problem-free."
05/14/2011: Kathie from Houston, United States replies: "I think it is important to use fresh ALOE VERA because it loses much of its potency within 15 minutes of cutting it. I take it from my garden and filet it, making sure not to use any of the exterior leaf (that can give you the runs when taken orally)."
[YEA] 05/20/2011: Naturalrx from Pasadena, Ca replies: "Hello All, I am so grateful I found this site. I was getting desperate to find a remedy that worked Iin the hope of avoiding a doctor's visit. Well, I tried a little bit of this and a little bit of that as suggested on this site and here's what worked for me. After about a week of bleeding 'roids, I tried the sitz bath, the ACV which helped to calm things externally, but there was still the issue of internal roids with bleeding so I decided to experiment with the aloe vera suggestion and take it a step further. In addition to drinking the AV juice, I also filleted a small piece, sprinkled a little cayenne pepper (known to stop bleeding) on it and chilled it. Because the piece of AV so small and also soft it was not very easy to insert bc of the sore tissue. I inserted as best I could and then used a homeopathic suppository to help insert it further. Yes, it was hella' hot, but hardly as painful as the roids. The next morning... Less blood and swelling; so, I tried another application (although this is best used before bedtime in case it's too hot for you, you can wash away some of the hotness because you're still at home! )... The following day... No blood and the swelling was gone. that was over a week ago and no problem yet."
09/14/2011: Sahd from Gwent, Uk replies: "I have bad prolapsed piles after childbirth. They are not painful but creams from docs useless. Am breastfeeding so can't try some remedies. Been trying apple cider vinegar drinking it and topical use for three weeks - can't see much shrinkage - is it too soon since mine's a severe case? Also been applying aloe vera gel for a few days. I dont want surgery - any advice or hope that these treatments will help and its question of time? Please help."
09/24/2011: Moe from Puerta Vallarta, Mexico replies: "Avoid garlic, eggplant. Never use toilet paper again to wipe yourself, only wash your self with warm water, toilet paper will irritate your anus and can provoke inflamation of the tissue. watermelon must be consumed as much as possible."
[YEA] Steve from Emmett, Idaho: "As an office worker I have suffered from the occasional bout of hemorrhoids. I read in one of my herb books that aloe gel was a good remedy. I like natural remedies so I tried it and it immediately helped relieve the pain and the hemorrhoid healed within a week. It works every time. Apply liberally twice each day. Wash your hands before and after application to avoid infection. What are you waiting for, give it a try, it works! Hemorrhoids can be prevented by improving digestion. Apple Cider Vinegar to the rescue."
Replies07/21/2009: Army Man from Philadelphia, PA replies: "Read Carefully: To cut down on the instance of hemorrhoids, clean yourself with diluted antibacterial soap or soap and water every time you move your bowels. Make sure you leave no residue -- ever. The bacteria from not wiping with soap and water invades the smallest cut in the anal area and the hemorrhoids gradually begin to from, often with an anal fissure. Here's an illustration. If a person serving food got feces on his hand, would you prefer that he wipe the spot with plain dry toilet paper, or wash the spot thoroughly with antibacterial soap before preparing your food? It's the same with your rectal area. To treat the anal fissue, make a poultice SOAKED IN ALCOHOL out of a piece of a paper towel, apply it to the area where the fissure is or is starting to become painful, indicating the emergence of an anal fissure, and sit on the poultice, rewetting it with alcohol when it dries. Do this for as many days (nights, too) as it takes to rid yourself of the fissure. As soon as you feel the fissure forming (when the rectal area hasn't yet formed a tear, but is "telltale" sore), immediately apply the alcohol soaked poultice. The alcohol will eventually dry out the surrounding skin, forming a superfical scabbing or blistering. Just keep the area immaculately clean by often cleansing with diluted antibacterial soap. The soap doesn't have to be full strength; the idea is to get the rectal area immaculately cleansed when dirty."
03/11/2011: Sensitive from Baltimore, Maryland replies: "What about using baby wipes with aloe to clean and render treatment for hemorroids after having a bowel movement?"
04/06/2012: Emgee from Broken Hill, Australia replies: "After having my thyroid removed, almost two years ago, my whole system has been out of whack. My doc re-evaluated all my meds as I was seriously in need of some help, but the side effect of this was constant diarrhea. ( I just realised the cause ) Sometimes I go 3 times a day, the constant pain and dread of pooing razor blades has sapped my energy and joy for so long! I have been in total agony for 8 months with roids that creams would not fix. I tried wheatgrass which helped after about 6 weeks but not competely as I ran out and they were worse than ever. I read this ACV natural treatment last week and have tried it out of desperation. Finally something that works! I keep a small bottle of it near the loo and wipe myself with it whenever I go, and took the suggestion of a cotton ball soaked in acv and used that three times a day. It sure did sting for a while but after the roid shrunk in size after about 4-5 days I realised there was another one there behind it that was causing the recent pain. Now it too is finally shrinking with acv! Even wiping myself with it on some tp means for the first time in months I've been able to clean myself properly. I've also added it to some foods and been sipping a few teaspoons in a drink bottle as often as I think of it. APC really does work and it's been such a relief! I hope it cures them completely which may take another week at this rate but after what we go thru it's worth it. So very worth trying! I hope it works for all other readers who give it a go."

I found that using a q tip soaked in Apple Cider Vinegar was much easier for me due to swelling and tightness. I simply used a few soaked q tips to clean area after bowel movements and at bedtime with very slight insertion, half inch at the most, cured mine. I had a lot of bleeding, pain, swelling, etc. And cold not use anything larger than a q tip. It has taken about two weeks, with much improvement in just a few days. For good measure I have done some extra treatments during the day up to three times a day. I avoid coffee that is too strong which causes forced movements."

Not sure the mild pain is due to Hemmorids or papilla. Had gone to different Doctors and surgery is the only option given since they say it is Grade4.
Please help. Any of you had papilla and you have any other suggestions for cure? Thank You, Sunder"

Do you leave the ball inside anal area for internal hemmroids? Also, for those from India : Only ACV available seems the one from "American Gardens". Were you able cure Hemmroids using this ACV?
Thank You. Sunder"
[YEA] 05/30/2013: Knk25 from Willis, Texas: "Ever since the birth of my daughter two years ago I've been battling hemorrhoids. Once I was unfortunate enough to get one during labor with her it was like they would come on at the smallest provocation. Usually they last a few weeks, while I use witch hazel to try to get rid of them. Well I was 3 days in with one today, and this one was much less bareable than the previous ones I've had. Witch hazel just wasn't cutting it. I got on here and looked to see if ACV would help, because it seems like that stuff helps with everything. Sure enough, I read tons of posts saying that it would help, so I tried it out. 3 hours later and the pain and irritation are mostly gone, and the hemorrhoid has already shrunken considerably! I can hardly believe it. I just applied some ACV to a paper towel and then pressed it up against the hemorrhoid and left it there. It didn't even sting all that much, for which I was very thankful. I would definitely recommend to anyone using ACV for hemorrhoids!"

[YEA] 01/21/2013: Sunita from Markham, Ontario: "I just want to thank everyone on this site for their feedback on the ACV for hemorrhoids. I am a hemorrhoid sufferer for over 30 years.. I came back hoping I might help some one too.. My hemorrhoid was the size of a small potato a week ago. I was sent for emergency surgery by my doctors which terrified me.. So I start searching the net for any help I could get and I came across this site... I started the remedy rite away after reading a few comments.. Been a week now must say it burn for the first 10-15 mins but it works ppl.. Give ACV a try first before going to surgery.. I apply it with aloe gel mix together because it's too strong for me pure.. You can apply other ointment after too to help with the pain /burning which I did.. Long story short ACV works for hemorrhoids it can save you the horror of surgery and everyday annoying pain in the ass!! For the first time I can sit with out twisting, whining I have been in bed most of the time this passed week.. I drink 2 tbs in a glass of water too."
[YEA] 01/13/2013: And73w from Sydney, Nsw, Australia: "I've had rather small roids for ages, not really worried about them as they've mostly been painless. Unfortunately, for the past 2 years they started to itch, went to the doctor straight away, got an steroid cream that he recommended me to use *for months* which of course didn't work. Then I tried pretty much everything else similar, nothing worked at all, and the itch became 24x7, very very annoying. Then, the miracle. Got to this page, thought "don't lose anything", tried the Apple Cider Vinegar with cotton buds, burned like hell but after 5-10 minutes peace again. I'm on the 4th day, doing this only in the mornings after the daily shower, and the itch is GONE. Of course the Apple Cider Vinegar burns a bit but it's a completely different thing, very tolerable unlike before. I wholeheartedly recommend this remedy, just make sure it's not bleeding down there, that's it. Take care and hopefully you get better soon too!!"

[YEA] 01/06/2013: Topdawg from Houston, Tx: "Thanks so much for sharing, this site really helped with a bright red bloody roid. I couldn't believe what I saw when I wiped. The tissue was so red I thought, cancel Christmas! Having no insurance and starting a new job I needed a quick fix.
After reading the threads, I got a paper towel and soaked the end of it and spread the cheeks while s-l-o-w-l-y moving the towel toward the bloody spot. I thought it would be so painful that I would kick a hole in the ceiling, but quite the opposite. It was a mild discomfort mainly from the roid, but I was able to release and let the cheeks hold it in place put on underware and went to bed.
Almost immediate relief, better in the morning. The only blood was at the tip of the paper towel. The size of the hole was about that of an eraser on a number 2 pencil. I have always used the "meta" fiber but I'd miss a day or 3 here and there so I would find myself straining a bit on occasion. But I've been using Apple Cider Vinegar for two days (the same way sleeping through the nite, shower in the morn and no more blood or pain and it is starting to get smaller in size already. I am starting the minced garlic on a spoon with water chase a time or two daily.
I will update... But again thanks sooooo much, I thought it was time to cash in my chips! Who knew something so simple could help and so quick!!!"
12/30/2012: Believe from Orange County, Ca: "Only one person has mentioned about a cut on external hemorrhoids and I wanted to discuss my experience. I have an external one and applying ACV on it directly has worked in the past, but not this past week. The burn from the cut is so intense after applying the ACV, I was shaking in pain. I'm still ingesting it (8oz water to 2 tsp of acv), because I'm a firm believer of the ACV.
I'm going on 6 days and the rawness of the cut is still fresh. I want to try ACV again, but so scared the pain will set me back another few days of healing time. I waddle, I can't sit and I'm either lying down or standing most of the time. I found the sitz bath in cold water for 2 minutes is sufficient. I also switched from warm methods like using a cold pack, wrapped in new plastic food wrap for hygience purposes and applying directly to the roid for 2 minutes max.
I'm still in pain (fresh cut), but it's tolerable since it's shrunk a tiny bit since using all my methods above."
[YEA] 12/14/2012: Brainbuster from Indianapolis, Indiana: "I'm a 31 year old white male, 135 lbs. , 5'7". I had a hemorrhoid for about 2 years. Tried several creams. Really like wiping with Desitin diaper rash cream (the generic).
I came to this site and saw all the reviews, over a hundred I think, for ACV for hemorrhoids. After reading the reviews, I rushed to the grocery store in the middle of the night, bought some ACV for about $6, and cotton balls and bandaids. I took a bath with about a cup of ACV in it, stayed in it for at least half an hour.
Then I did what I really think cured it...I soaked a cotton ball in ACV, then taped it to my hemorrhoid with a bandaid or two. Then I put boxers on, sat on it and soon went to bed (leaving it on).
The next day, I checked my roid, and I swore it was half the size (it had been the size of a kidney bean for 2 yrs).
I still wasn't sure, but I felt optimistic. It might've been my imagination, but in 2 years you get pretty familiar with the size of your hemorrhoid.
Anyway, I continued, doing it no more than twice a day, maybe 3 times (I doubt it would go away faster if the applications were more frequent.. Maybe I only needed to do it once). So within 3 or 4 days, the hemmorhoid was completely gone. Then I stopped doing the cottonball thing.
That was in April of 2012, and now it's December 2012. So 7 months with no return of the hemorrhoid.
This has honestly changed an entire outlook in my mind. If I suffered for 2 years with no help from conventional medicine, then I find the wisdom in a crowd on the internet, and heal myself in a few days with $6, with vinegar! , what else am I missing!! ??
So after this cure, I sought youtube videos on hemorrhoids, people trying to peddle their hemorrhoid products, and I wrote comments on the videos spreading the word. "All you need is apple cider vinegar, it'll be gone a few days. Don't spend your money! "
I think white vinegar would probably work too. Most people have vinegar already in their house.
To be honest, after this cure, my trust in conventional medicine, in doctors, has taken a nose-dive. How many people suffer from hemorrhoids, go to their doctors, and their clumsy doctors don't even know about this?"

[YEA] 07/19/2012: Natnmargie from Spokane, Washington, United States: "I recently read somewhere that putting raw Apple Cider Vinegar on your hemorrhoids is very soothing and helps them to heal quickly. I had a flair up, and nothing I was using was working (and I only use natural items) So, I grabbed a Viva Paper towel (the softest I could find), doused it with a bunch of _____s Apple Cider Vinegar and then went in to apply it after cleaning the area gently.
Wow, it burns some, however, in about 5 minutes I was already feeling relief and I was completely over my hemorrhoids within hours. (and one more additional treatment)
So I can emphatically suggest using Apple Cider Vinegar in this way."
[YEA] 05/28/2012: Bobbi\'s Girl from Boston, Ma, Us: "Wow- I just found this site, and within ten minutes of saturating a cotton ball with ACV and applying to the affected area, the itching has subsided, and the pain has lessened to the point where I am no longer squirming in my seat, as I type this, in the usual vain attempt to find a comfortable position. How happy I am to have found this thread! I had forgotten the bit about adding ACV to one's drinking water, and after reading the previous comments, have done just that. I suspect too many dietary sugars and carbohydrates (which I usually eat very sparingly), and too few green leafies, combined with a recent eight-hour air flight, has skewed my system somewhat. I am interested in seeing how well this brings things back to balance. Thanks to all for the input here!"
