GARLIC, UNPASTERURIZED HONEY, COLLOIDAL SILVER

[YEA]  09/17/2006: Linda from Meridian, MS writes: "Many people are being diagnosed with spider bites when in fact the boils they have are actually Community Acquired Methicilin Resistant Staph infections. They are contagious and popping them only helps to spread the infection. It can also become airborne and you can get pneumonia from it. The best cure I've found so far is a combination (I tried it all together because I wanted to be sure it was dead) of unpasteurized honey, collodial silver, and garlic tablets. My nephew had a boil on his knee that antibiotics did not treat. We put the unpasteurized honey on it and it pulled all of the infection out and healed on it's own. I had a place come up but I treated it promptly by dropping collodial silver on it and covering it with unpasteurized honey, a silver bandage, and taking garlic internally. I've not had a problem since then, but it is everywhere so if I am around anyone with it, I start taking the garlic as a preventative."

12/06/2011: Elle from Cc, Florida replies: "To treat boils (staph infections) as soon as you figure out that it is going to develop, I clean the spot with hydrogen peroxide and soften up the white center core until you can remove it. Then cover area with Gentian Violet. Repeat application of a couple times a day. Don't worry about the color. Later on when the spot isn't sore to the touch you can remove the color with a cotton pad and alcohol. It does not leave a permanant color like some people say on this website. It will stain your clothes so cover with a bandaid.

I found Gentian Violet at local W... Green drug store for $2.99 The pharmacist couldn't find it when I asked for it, he thought I was joking. I found it in a section that carries over the counter medicines from Mexico since I live in an area with lots of Latinos they carry these products. Hydrogen Peroxide and gentian violet work to kill Staph. Also take copper dietary supplements, I take 2 mg every other day. We don't get enough dietary copper from depleated soil used to grow vegtables. And the metal copper kills MRSA on contact. Newer hospitals are outfitting with copper sinks and faucets instead of stainless steel. Remember to disinfect doorknobs, sinks, etc with diluted beach solutions. Be careful to not inhale airborne bacteria with MRSA when you clean a boil drainage area. Clean wound treatment areas with diluted bleach using disposible paper towels. Do not reuse cleaning rags."

I convinced him to try my paste, let it dry, then wash it off. Not only did the cyst go away fast, but has not returned! I have used Goldenseal Root to 'draw' infection out of cuts, sores, etc., and even cure athletes foot. You only need a small amount of the powder and a tiny amount of water. Stir into a paste quickly and spread it on the affected area. Let it dry. Rinse off. You have to be quick as it begins to work as soon as water hits it. Be careful, a tiny amount of water goes a long way! My mom had a rash on the back of her hand - all the prescription creams made it go away but as soon as she stopped using, the rash would reappear. Used the Goldenseal Root past method on the rash. It went away in 2 days and never returned."

HOLY GRAIL FOR BOIL CARE

YEA

[YEA]  11/21/2008: Mark from Nashville, TN writes: "I wrote in about dietary things I did to help the antibiotics work better when I had a staph infection on my face that the antibiotics alone would not kill. This is an update. I wrote in too soon, because there were a few places on my forehead and ear that the antibiotics and dietary changes would not cure. I experimented with various things I read about on this website. I found that coating the remaining infected areas on my face with tea tree oil caused some of the areas to break open, bleed out and heal. However, I still had a couple of places that just would not heal. A place on my ear flaired up with infection which spread back across my face (probably from rubbing on my pillow as I slept). I tried putting white vinegar on a cotton ball. I did it in the morning, and when I did it again in the evening the remaining places opened up and bled out. I stopped and let them heal. As they were healing, I went back to the dermatologist and had a culture done on the place on my ear. It came back with no more staph infection. Because I had been using a plastic pillow cover under my pillow case to try to keep the staph out of my pillow, I developed boils on the back of my neck. As they were healing on their own when on my final visit to the dermatologist, I did not mention them. About three of them still hadn't healed up, though, after a couple of weeks. Knowing how great tea tree oil and vinegar work, I used the "holy grail" treatment on this website for the boils (basically topical tea tree oil and internally taken tumeric). The only change I made was to put vinegar on a cotton ball and also wipe that onto the boils from time to time. It only took two days for the boils to break open and bleed out. Thanks for the great information on this website. Even though vinegar, tea tree oil and tumeric work as well (or better when it's MRSA on your skin) than antibiotics, I believe that by law doctors are only allowed to use FDA approved drugs to treat you. Thus, they can't even tell you about using non regulated household items like vinegar, and some act like you are crazy if you mention them. They would rather put you into the hospital and administer intravenous antibiotics for a mild skin infection than tell you about tea tree oil and vinegar. All this being said, I do think it is important to at least "touch base" with a treditional dermatologist (maybe one visit). That way if a skin infection progresses beyond just a minor (but hard to cure) thing on the skin no matter what you try, you'll have a doctor who is monitoring you and can get you admitted to a hospital for more invasive and intensive care - such as if the infection enters your bloodstream and spreads around inside your body."

[YEA]  12/12/2007: Brad from Atlanta, GA writes: "I have had a boil break-out' regularly for the past few years, usually about once a year. They seem to be getting more frequent and progressively worse each time. This last time I started with one itchy red bump and it turned into about 12 all over my buttocks and legs within 3 weeks. I tried the turmeric (which I had never tried before) after about 2 weeks because they got so bad, and it helped SOME, but not a lot, I was still getting new ones. It was painful to sit down, to walk, to do anything really. I decided to try "the Holy Grail" from Sean and it really seemed to work.

I was taking 4 caps of the Turmeric 3 times a day. It did seem to slow the intensity of the boils but I didn't get the type of relief that others seemed to get. When I started taking the supplements Sean recommended along with the Hibeclens and the tea-tree oil it stopped dead in its tracks. Here's what I did:
Coninued with the turmeric as I was taking, took the other supplements once a day, and used antibacterial soap to clean my whole body twice a day. Then in the shower or bath I thoroughly washed anywhere boils usually came up with the Hibeclens. Then after I bathed I put some tea-tree oil in the palm of my hand and also put that anywhere I was susceptible to the boils. And I started with the q-tip of KY and tea tree oil in my nostrils twice a day. This combination immediately started healing the boils I had and since I've started the regimen I have not had any new ones.

A couple things:

I think the Hibeclens is very important to use to aid in the appearance of new boils, but it doesnt necessarily help in the healing of the old ones.It keeps the ones you have from spreading though because it puts a protective antifungal type layer on your skin that repels the bacteria and for hours and keeps you from getting new ones. Hibeclens can be bought at most pharmacies just ask the pharmacist where it is. It's kind of expensive but SO worth it.

When I started on Sean's regimen, I also cut out virtually all of the processed sugar and white flour from my diet. This was VERY hard for me, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make to get rid of the boils. This site has taught me how important this is. The sugar freezes your bodies ability to fight off the infection for up to four hours after you eat it. So in that time the boil is free to manifest itself and get worse and grow new ones with no fighting response from your body until the sugar works its way out of your system. The turmeric purifies your blood, but the sugar and white flour puts the toxins right back in. So you're fighting an uphill battle . If you want to keep boils under control you HAVE to cut down on your sugar and white flour intake.

Do not ever ever touch a boil with your bare hands and do not ever ever ever try to squeeze it. You can put hot compresses on it all you want, and if it pops under the heat thats fine, but the oils on your hands and skin will IMMEDIATELY make a boil worse if you touch it. And I've also found, especially with the boils I have had on my butt, that any pressure on them makes them fester and grow into the skin instead of outwardly. The lesson here is to keep the pressure off the boil as much as possible. If you have them on your butt use a hemmorhoid pillow or some type of cushion that keeps the pressure off the boil. Especially when you drive. I personally don't like to use band-aids or bandages on them because I feel everytime I do it just creates pressure by being covered and makes them worse and more painful. Of course several places on this site it discusses how important it is to keep them covered especially when they burst or drain - so use your own judgement here.

Also advil helps considerably with the pain.

I hope this helps some people."

HOMEOPATHICS

In addition, I have painful sores on my face and inside my mouth. All the little cuts on my body are full of pus and my lymph node in my neck is swollen. I don't want to take antibiotics so I went to a naturopath and he gave me arsenicum album homeopathics to take under my tongue. He said I should feel better in a day but it's been over a day and I still feel bad.

I'm wondering if I should try colloidal silver and if so, should I stop the aresnicum album or take both. I'm using ACV on the actual sores, gargling with it and other home remedies including noni, garlic, lysine, etc. Should I take colloidal silver in addition to all these other things or should I just stick to one remedy? It's delicious and healthful when taken internally and is wonderful when applied externally to the face. I am taking one teaspoon of Manuka honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon each morning and evening. It has lowered my blood pressure from 156 to 125 in a very short period of time. [YEA]  11/13/2006: Jen from Bedford, NH writes: "After several months dealing with a painful abscess on my bottom, I was desperate. I'd had it opened and drained by a surgeon, and had to have it packed every day for weeks. I took antibiotics, which gave me a massive allergic reaction. It was not healing. Finally the opening the surgeon had made became too small to insert the packing gauze, and I just set a gauze square on the outside. It flared up again almost immediately. While looking for any alternative to "modern" medicine, I first tried a sliced red beet. It did seem to draw out some pus, but it was still not healing. Then, I read a large study that had been posted on the internet dealing with the curative effects of honey vs. standard medical therapies. The results were so dramatic, I had to try it. within five days, the abscess has fully drained! No more pus is coming out, it has NOT swollen up again, and doesn't hurt anymore. I used organic honey on a gauze square, and will continue to do so until it is fully closed and healed. I am also going to start trying it internally for acid reflux (just diagnosed), as I cannot take the prescribed pills (excruciating abdominal/colon spasms!). Thanks for a wonderful website!"

ICE CUBES

[YEA]  06/15/2009: Erin from Naperville, IL writes: "Ice cubes got rid of my boils! For three weeks, I suffered with boils around my waist. I think the waistbands of my pants actually caused them to spread. They weren't very large, but boy, were they painful! Being a veteran Earth Clinic user, I tried everything recommended ... H202, coconut oil, ACV, baking soda, hot moist heat, antibiotic ointment, turmeric and garlic. NOTHING worked. The other night, as I was going through my familiar routine of applying hot moist heat and draining them, it suddenly occurred to me taht maybe the heat was making them worse. I remembered that years ago, when I suffered with cystic acne, the only thing that would get rid of the painful bumps was in ice cube applied directly to them. Somewhere, I had read that bacteria thrives on hot moist heat and is killed by freezing cold temps and that's what made me try the ice on my cystic acne. I could often get rid of a cystic acne bump before it even became noticeable just by applying ice. So I decided to try it with the boils. I got an ice cube and held it directly to the biggest boil and then after a minute or so began rubbing the ice cube over the whole area that was infected with boils. I did this before bed and when I awoke the next morning, the smaller boils were completely gone and the bigger boils were less than half the size they had been. After I ate breakfast, I got another ice cube and applied it to the bigger boils first and then rubbed it over the whole area. By evening, the bigger boils were super tiny. I continued the ice cube treatment another day and then they were all gone. I cannot tell you how happy I was after suffering with these things for nearly three weeks and watching them grow worse and worse!"

ICHTHAMMOL OINTMENT 20%

2. Wash boil, dry, apply ointment
3. Cover with a cloth band-aid
4. do this twice daily This is a "drawing salve". Also good for splinters with pus. What it does is thin the skin above the boil and let the boil naturally drain. It is mildly antiseptic too."

[YEA]  08/20/2011: Valkyrie from Denver, Co replies: "I thought I'd provide details of my experience, mainly because this wasn't available when I got MRSA and this resulted in several trips to the emergency room when I got an infection instead of an occasional inconveinece that sucks but I can handle myself.

Going to a Dr. Can be a valuable step in dealing with MRSA, but even if you do this, you may still get boils. It's an anti-biotic resitstant bactiria the medical establishment doesn't know how to treat. They have had some luck with sulfa antibiotics with some strains, go ahead and try - I'm allergic to sulfates, so I have had to find prevention and maintenence regimes.

Other pieces of advise my Dr's have recommended are: scrub with Hibiclense in bath and apply around nose frequently (bacteria can live a long time inside your nose and if you have face infections this is a sign this will especially help), bathe with bleach if you have an infection. I've tried tea-tree oil too, and have found little difference with the effectiveness of Hibiclense, but I think you do need something stronger - unfortunatly Bleach is the best I found - if you have active infections to prevent spreading.

As far as how to handle existing infections, I've really had to do this on my own. Here's what I found:

Immediantly bandage any suspected infection with a fabric bandage and ichthammol ointment - about 20% streath usually petroliam jelly or lanolin filler, often labled drawing cream, sometimes with some other sulfates added, at rite-aid, online, or can be ordered from most pharmacies. This drawing cream was used on staff infections and boils prior to the advent of antibiotics, and is still effective after the use of antibiotics stopped working with MRSA.

It's immportant infections are constintly covered, as soon as you notice a pimple that starts to feel sore - if it was just a pimple it will go away quicker too. It does stain fabric and is messy and somewhat musty smelling. But this treatment will allow boils to swell to a head and drain much quicker, so they do not get as large and painful and risk infecting lymph nodes, etc.

Once an infection has started to drain, you should squeeze the infection. In the emergency room this is done by placing one hand in a circle around infection while squeezing from the outside to the inside with the other hand. This is gross, but will eliminate the infection quicker. Usually a hard pus 'seed' needs removed or the sore will reinfect. Sometimes tweezers are neccessary for this. Occasionally, if a infection grows too large - lets say 2 inches of swelling- , or is close to a lymph node or other sensitive area, like a spine or throat - this should probably be done by a Doctor in the emergency room. They will have to treat you even with no insurance, mention MRSA you will get a room very quick, say you're homeless and have no ID if you have to but do go to the emergency room. Although how to lance is somewhat self-explanitory, sterilization is nearly impossible and it's extremly painfull and would be really hard for a person to do to themselves. If you are able to drain your own infection, immediantly wash with a lot of bleach. Now wash the sink, floor around you and entire area with bleach. Now go shower and scrub wth bleach. This will help prevent other infection on yoruself - or worse, infecting your family.

After you think your infection has drained, it still needs to stay under a ichthammol fabric bandage. Otherwise reinfection of the sore is common. Leave a bandage on for one more week, change daily and squeze opening for any remaining discharge, if you get more pus restart your week.

I have started taking Tumeric in addition to my other suppliments after looking through this site which has further decreaded infection frequncy I think."

ICHTHAMMOL, HIBICLENS

[YEA]  05/02/2011: Drea from San Antonio, Usa writes: "Didnt read through all the listed stuff, but I really wanted to add in something, sorry if someone else may have mentioned it, but both my father and I have suffered from reoccuring boils/staph infections.

As soon as one would form, both of us would use something called Ichthammol. The one we used was a thick black ointment, not sure on the clear ones cause we didnt use it. It smells a bit like roofing tar but the smell isnt so bad to where you cant stand it, and believe me this stuff works miracles. We would apply it, and put a thick cloth over it cause it can stain clothing, and would tape the area with medical tape for the skin. By the next day the head would form, we would them clean our hands, take tissue and wrap it around both pointer fingers, and pop the head. You want to push out as much of the infection as possible till nothing but blood is coming out, then you would wipe the area good, apply more of the Ichthammol with new wrapping and repeat the process the next day of removing whatever pus was there.

To best describe what it seems to do, is make it easy for the puss to be drawn out do that draining it is easier, and the pain or the infection doesnt last for days or weeks. I use to go to the Hospital for mine and they would numb the area with shots which was extremely painful because the skin was already tender to the max, and then they would slit the skin with a blade, and remove what they could, they I would have to stuff it with guaze over and over for about a week, everyday and it would leave a nasty scar that at times either would heal over 6months to a yr, and some have not seemed to heal at all.

With the Ichthammol, and all the easy removal of the fluid, there isnt as much pain compared to having to stuff the open sore wound with guaze, and it seems to heal more rapidly with no scars left after.

Also I make sure to apply something called Hibiclens over my skin when I take a shower. But I only do this about once a month. It helps to clean the skin and kill bacteria, now it doesnt get rid of the boils coming back permanantly but it does help bring down the reoccurance of them, cause I use to get them every 2-4months, and I made sure to wash/bleach my sheets and clothes, also went around the house with bleach and hot water, wiping down things that are touched often but forgotten about like light switches and door knobs. Now I might get a boil/staff infection once every 6-8 months.

Hope this helps anyone dealing with these horrible things, I wouldnt wish these on anyone and hope everyone has found some kind of remedy that works."

[YEA]  09/05/2007: Bev from Elroy, WI writes: "to respond to the woman with the terrible boils. I suffer from horrific cystic acne. I discovered that if I eliminate all forms of hidden MSG [do an internet search to find all that it is in] that my skin is perfectly clear. I am so sensitive that I cannot even touch anything with citric acid or natural flavor which is a form of hidden MSG and is in most shampoos, liquid hand soap, prepared foods, pop etc. I convinced my husband to eliminate all hidden MSG and his headaches, ezcema and skin rash went away. Now when he has any exposure the itchy, weepy skin rash comes back and today it is back with a vengence. He had mustard on Sunday and it flared. By Monday evening it was drying up and he licked the spoon of the ice cream he served our children and during the night it erupted so bad he could hardly sleep.

A good rememdy for all these skin things is a 125 watt clear infrared bulb. Not only will this clear up the skin but is great for any aches and it healed my son of acute asthma. Asthma requires a one hour treatment 1-2 times daily or more. The more you use it the quicker it heals. The only draw back is having to stay stationary so long. My husband hasn't had time to sit under it the past two days so he is still in bad shape. He started on the vinegar and honey last night to see if a change in body pH will help.

IODINE

[YEA]  04/25/2007: Frances from Gainesville, FL writes: "I got my first boil ever recently. At first I had no idea what it was, but it rapidly increased in size and pain, began to itch around the edges and turned very red. My mother (a nurse) told me it was a boil on Sunday and to "leave it alone" (I have a bad habit of picking at wounds, etc.). Through the night, this became one of the most painful things I had ever experienced. The next day, Monday, everything I did was a royal pain - getting in and out of my car, sitting down in a chair, even walking - because the boil was on my lower back, just above my rear-end and a few inches to the right of my spine. I knew I had to do something or I would lose my mind, so I started researching remedies, and I came across your site. Monday night, I went home, took a long, hot, epsom salt bath/soak, and then swabbed the entire area with iodine. The next morning, I cleaned the area, then swabbed it with more iodine. This seemed to reduce the pain slightly and the itching more. Partway through the day, it started getting a little more sensitive, so I figured I'd try it again. I went to the bathroom at work and cleaned it up and put some more iodine on it, making sure to spend a good deal of time just resting the iodine swab on the scabbed area of the boil. Through the rest of the day, the pain did not seem to diminish, so I had decided to try baking soda when I got home. However, before my mom left for work, I asked her if she would please remove the bandage I had put on and check to see if it looked any better. Taking off the bandage was very painful, and I was afraid that it was no better at all. However, I was plesantly surprised to find out that the reason it was painful was because it was DRAINING. Yes, less than 24 hours after starting the iodine, after just 3 treatments, the draining started. It was great. We cleaned it well with some peroxide and put some neosporin on it, then some gause to help soak up the pus. After a while, I did another epsom salt bath/soak and took a shower, where I washed it well with a tea tree oil / aloe vera body wash. Out of the shower, I again cleansed it with peroxide, then put on some more neosporin, one of those non-stick pads, and a bandage to catch the ooze. Hopefully it will all drain out today or tomorrow so that it will just be a distant memory by this weekend. :) Thanks for all of your help!

P.S. I was thinking of trying an oatmeal-and-baking soda combo tonight to see if that makes a core come out."
