Stop Antibiotics, Stop Shaving

02/08/2012: Light Bulb from Ny: "Hello, I am a long time sufferer of boils, ingrown hair, and eczema. I have tried evrything u can think of to cure my ailments. Over the counter, scripts. U name it I have tried. I used to get boils mainly in the pubic area, and under my arms, and on my inner upper thighs, buttocks. Ugh. It was driving me crazy. First off what I did to try and cure it was stop taking the antibiotics. Now do not negate the fact that if you have a bad infection you need antibiotics to ward off the infections. What does the damage is the continuous intake of the drug because you build an immunity to it. Therefore it gets harder for you to the fight the infection off. It is crucial that you only use anti bacterial ointments or soaps on the place of infection. You lessen the depletion of the natural flora (good bacteria) that your body is supposed to have. Next stop shaving. It is better to cut down hair in the most sensitive areas of your body because they get the least exposure therefore are more prone to developing infections."

[YEA]  07/23/2006: Jack from Toledo, OH: "When I was about 5 or 6 yrs old, I acquired "VERY LARGE BOILS ON MY LEGS( NEARLY THE SIZE OF A SILVER DOLLAR), in the state of W.Va. they were referred to as "CARBUCKLES", they have not only a large scab, but they have long "CORES" as well which can leave a large cavitation in your skin, when pulled out ! It was usually done by"LANCING THE BOIL"removing the scab then pulling the core out,"HURTS LIKE HELL"! My Grandmother couldn't bring herself to causing me a lot of pain, so she called me into the kitchen one day, I remember having 5 or 6 on my legs, she took one of the old style tablespoons (to me it looked like a huge "coal shovel") heaping with sugar, soaked in in Kerosene from her kerosene lamp, grabbed my nose to make me open wide and made me swallow every bit of !! THEY FELL OFF IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, AND HAD "NO CORE". Every time I read the name or word "BOILS" I REMEMBER!! IT LEFT A LASTING IMPRESSION... LOLOLOLO"

Sun, Then Warm Shower

[YEA]  03/14/2009: Martha from El Centro, CA: "I read this in the Doctors Book of Home Remedies. To cure boils, sit in the sun for about one hour, preferably morning or afternoon. Then take a very warm shower. I guess the action of the warmth from the sun and the added warmth from the water will soften the skin to the extent that the boil will easily burst. The Vit D may also have something to do with it cuz you don't get the same effect from just a heating pad so go out and enjoy the sun for a spell then shower! Best of luck to you and say bye bye to that boil for me!

[YEA]  03/16/2007: Cindy from Payson, AZ: "The best cure for any type of infection even moles/skin ticks/ infected staph or other boils that I've tried is TEA TREE OIL. I learned this in India when I traveled there. I had some serious infections that not even antibotics would cure but applying Tea Tree Oil over a few days did the trick. Also pouring proxide as a wash many times a day then treating with Tea Tree Oil does the trick!"

06/22/2010: Shelby from Newburgh, Indiana replies: "For those of you with boils or infections in difficult places such as mine, which is in the corner of my right eye and so difficult to treat with stronger methods, pouring tea tree oil (for example) into a bath and then holding your breath and submerging your face is the best method I have found for getting the stronger remedies onto the area without it getting into your eyes. If you wear contacts, I suggest you take them out before the bath. Keep a towel handy to wipe your face off after."

[YEA]  06/17/2006: Vanessa from Missoula, MT: "Pour boiling water into an empty glass bottle. Pour the water out and place the bottle's mouth over a boil. Do not move the bottle as this will break the suction. The cooling air will draw out the puss and gunk of the boil!"

[YEA]  01/26/2011: Aria from Port Huron, Mi replies: "I have yet to try the bottle method; however, my mother and grandmother have used this method. According to them, you wait until the boil is to a head, heat the glass bottle in boiling water, take it out, dry off all hot water, put the mouth of the bottle over the head and allow the suction to do the work. They said you could see the head get larger and larger and then.... Explosion!

It sounds extremely effective to me; however, due to the location of my boil (earlobe), I used a turmeric/evco paste which worked famously! I thought I would end up in the hospital last night because my lobe was so swollen, hard, red, and hot. I am colonized with mrsa so I was afraid it would spread too rapidly handle on my own. I cut a small raw potato plug for my earhole and wore that during the day, then I applied the turmeric/evco paste, then before bed added raw manuka honey to the mix. When I woke up, I noticed my lobe is half the size it was yesterday and its not throbbing or hot anymore. I am so thankful for this site! I have been coming here for almost a year and I will keep coming back."

03/02/2011: Michelle from Lyman, Maine replies: "How long do you boil the bottle for?"
[YEA]  06/17/2011: Kim C. from Los Angeles, Ca replies: "I performed the hot bottle method a few hours ago and I am screaming, "Yes!!! " It worked. I bought a a soda in a glass bottle, poured out the drink, rinsed and dried the bottle, put a small amount of H2O in a sauce pan, placed the bottle in the water, let it come to a boil, grabbed the bottle with a pot holder with the open end up, then I put the open end over the boil. I was a little suction but I let it stay until the bottle cooled. Massive Pus Was Drained! Now I'm at ease."

[YEA]  09/20/2007: DEBRA from OCALA, FLORIDA: "I went on your web site yesterday, i have had boils my whole life, like other people on this website, i was willing to try anything, i ran across using a tomatoe, the person who suggested it got them in the same area (thighs and around that area) i thought what the heck within 1 hour of completing the process with each half, i got a shower and it opened, i thought holy crap it really does work, so for 59 cents you can have relief, thanks again margarita form madrid spain."

[YEA]  10/22/2006: Cherie from Memphis, TN: "Tomato Paste, cover with paste as a compress, the acids from the tomatoes soothe and bring the boil to a head."

[YEA]  06/13/2006: Margarita from Madrid, Spain: "If you have a boil (abscessed pimple), which often comes up on thighs, bottom, bikini line, try this remedy. It is absolutely brilliant and worked wonders for me. Cut a tomato in half and heat it (microwave will do). Place it over the boil and leave it there. Hold it in place with a gauze, I used a gauze and band-aids, and kept it there until it cooled. I then placed the other half of the tomato and repeated the operation. Although it got my underwear tomatoey, the boil opened up by itself and all the pus oozed out on its own. The results are remarkable. I didn't believe my mother (it was her remedy) and suffered in silence for ages. The boils also seemed recurrent, and I have been boil free for over a year. Some feat for the humble tomato!"

[YEA]  03/30/2006: Rick from Birmingham: "I had been suffering with a boil for about 3 days when I stumbled on this site. Well I tried the tomato paste last night and not only did it relieve the pain, it also brought it to a head. Today I'm feeling 1000% better."

[YEA]  02/23/2006: Kelli from Michigan: "A while back my boyfriend had a boil behind his ear. A friend of mine had sent me an email with natural remedies for all kinds of things. On the email was a cure for boils, and it was tomato paste. I went to the store and bought some. He rubbed it on his boil and left it overnight, the next morning the boil had decreased in size, he continued to do this for a couple of days and it was soon gone."

Turmeric for Boils

Home Remedy Ingredients

  • Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
  • Filtered Water - 8 to 10 oz

Drink one teaspoon of turmeric in water 2-3 times a day until the boil has healed. Turmeric is a powerful health aid (and a spice) from India.

Side effects: Turmeric can sometimes cause dehydration, so make sure you drink plenty of water (without turmeric!) throughout the day.

[YEA]  07/03/2012: Topdog from Naples, Florida: "I recently used a tumeric and aloe vera paste applied to MRSA boil under my armpit. Within a day, the boil decreased in size by 50%. After three days, the boil was gone. Be aware... Wrap the area well as tumeric will stain any garments you may wear! I've also mixed a quarter teaspoon with an ounce of REAL maple syrup and 8 ounces of DISTILLED water. I believe that this nasty infection travels through your bloodstream so it won't hurt to try it. You'll notice a soothing feeling in your stomach and I actually felt calmness while sleeping. I hope this helps for you as it has helped me."

[YEA]  05/21/2012: Mike from Glendale, Az: "Never believed in natural cures for anything, but after one night and 4 tumeric 450mg pills... the worst boil on my butt has decreased half its size, and pain is gone.

Was just about to go to ER and get it lanced, when I woke up today I was amazed in the drastic change. I can credit nothing else, but tumeric, and this website for the info I found on it,

Thanks to all who posted their stories.....

05/21/2012: Gavin from Manganui, Northland, New Zealand replies: "I started with Tumeric for this persistant boil, but improvement was slow untill I added Cream of Tartar, It seems to make the pus more fluid. The last boil of this type that I had lasted for a few years I suppose it was more of an abcess. It grew and shrank untill I tried to lance it myself, needless to say I then had to go to the Doc. and get some amoxicillan. Which incidently cleared it up fast. But Cream of tartar does something to the bacteria the infection was over within a couple of teaspoonfulls, but as it was large it took a couple of weeks to completly drain. If you feel one coming on start with a teaspoon of cream of Tartar morning and evening in some milk, I think you will be pleasantly surprised."

[YEA]  01/11/2012: Karyn from Charlotte, Nc: "I first noticed a 'pinch' on my butt on Friday. It was hard to look at the exact spot because it was kind of between the cheeks, but each day it became more and more sore.

By Monday, it was a full-blown boil, the worst one I've ever had and having to sit on it all day at work was absolute agony. I came over to Earth Clinic for help, always my first source for home remedies.

I should have started the turmeric much earlier; I bought a large bag of it last year when I had a small outbreak of boils.

Monday night after work, I mixed a teaspoon of turmeric into warm water and drank it. That was rough; not the best method for me. Before bed, I took a second teaspoon mixed into about 1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (after reading fat is important for the turmeric to work best). I also spread a small amount of oil onto a bandage, sprinkled turmeric over the top of it, and slept with that on the boil.

Tuesday morning, the bandage was soaked, so I knew the boil had begun to drain. It felt smaller (due to its location on my body, it is hard to look at it) but was still quite painful. I washed it thoroughly and started my Tuesday with a half teaspon of turmeric (the full teaspoon gave me brief heart palpitations) in coconut oil and headed to work. Before the day had ended, it began to drain again, this time with much blood.

Home again, I took my turmeric/coconut oil and added black pepper after reading on EC that the pepper increased the bioavailability of turmeric. I took a dose at 5:30 and again at 8:30 before bed. Also, I again slept with a poultice of coconut oil and turmeric taped over the boil.

Today is Wednesday; the drainage seems to be nearly complete and the pain is nearly gone! It's absolutely amazing; when I have had boils in the past, and have not used turmeric, it seems to take 10 or more days to fully get rid of them.

I intend to continue with my 3x per day dosing until there is no pain or swelling there at all and then I think I'll just add a half teaspoon with black pepper and coconut oil to my morning routine for maintenance.

Thank you Earth Clinic!"

I felt one coming on my inner thigh and read about turmeric treatments for boils on this site and decided to try it. I mixed a teaspoon of turmeric in 8 oz of water and drank it. I also made a paste of turmeric, olive oil and tea tree oil and applied it to the area where the boil was coming in. In about 12 hours the boil started going away! The pain went away as well. I drank the turmeric and water mixture again the next morning and applied the paste again and in 24 hours the boil is virtually gone! This is INCREDIBLE!

I am also bathing with antibacterial/antimicrobial soap for the next few weeks as well. I will probably start drinking turmeric and water regularly because I can feel that it is purifying me from the inside somehow. I don't know exactly how but it's cleansing me and it feels WONDERFUL!

I am so amazed by this experience that I am thinking about studying Herbal Medicine!!!"
