Hi Leah, Try to reduce the ACV and stopp at intervalls e.g. once every week - do not take it. Check what intervall works for you. As ACV plays with the pH level in our body I found as well that it 'stopped' working at some point and I think it might be that the blood pH is now adjustedn and the ACV works now 'counterproductive'. Perhaps Ted could look into the 'science' of this phenomena as a lot of people here report similar feelings that it works a while and than it stopps... However, I found that once I stopp for a week I can take it in reduced quantities... Check it out. Hope it helps. For the smell in general research - Chlorophyl - liquid or dragee --- it works amazing for any body smell --- eg. I use it when eating garlic and it is extraordinary. Question for Ted on EarthClinique: How can one insure to keep the write pH level in the body not overdo or underdo with the AC so that the stomach acids are not getting out of balance. Thanks.

Perhaps you should return to using the non-organic ACV then.
I had a similar situation. I was taking regular ACV for reflux and high blood pressure with great results. When I switched to the organic brand, everything returned! (The reflux, etc. ) I went back to using the regular ACV and haven't had a problem since.

ACV is known to get rid of toxins. I was wondering if it can also get rid of other nutrients in the system when taken with other supplements, such as a vitamin c powder. I believe it only gets rid of actual toxins and not nutrients, but there's conflicting stories. Do you think it could pull out my other beneficial supplemental nutrients? If so, do you think it'd be ok to separate when I take them, so they're not too close together? Thank you! ~Karen

I would think that it be mentioned that any one with low blood.......... Or anemic or even having lack of iron should be very careful of taking ACV very small dosages or none at all. Also I found that 90% of iron pills have isopropyl alcohol in them which will thin the blood, so read all ingredients(labels)before mixing other items, or even considering taking them. We are our own advocates, our safety and wellness is up to us. I read things then go on to other messages as they may have additional information we all need, or just fits your needs. Meaning what you take I may be allergic to it ok? good luck

My first clue begins with a sesame tahini sauce I like to make with apple cider vinegar, water, salt and cayenne pepper added to a big salad.
After eating this, I never connected my racing pulse to anything in particular.
Many times my cheeks would even flush! I've always used the _____'s organic brand too.
Anyway, my intuition told me that maybe I should leave the vinegar out of my recipe next time and see what happens. Lo and behold, no racing pulse. I still did not connect this to an allergy though.
Then, today, I come across an e-book by Dr. Coca called the "The Pulse Test". In it, he explains that EVERY single time a person consumes something they are allergic to, their pulse will be higher than normal. This book was written in 1956! Why didn't I know about this method before?
Thinking back, I can clearly remember my pulse racing after certain meals... But who would have thought Apple Cider Vinegar could be one of the culprits!
I do not eat dairy or wheat of any kind... but it might be time to also give up the Quinoa too, since ALL grains can expose you to cross-contamination issues.
This E-book is now considered public domain.

Hi, I have found castor oil rub and packs to be very beneficial and Cayce wrote 1000's of pages on this healing gem. However, when I used the castor oil packs on the abdomen, I did feel much better in the long run, but experienced a healing crisis with increased upper right quadrant pain and aches and pains. Castor oil is a powerful medicine and I believe the body responds accordingly to the degree of imbalance. It gets worse before better :-)

BETTER BUT WITH SIDE EFFECTS
Just a few days ago I started taking 2 tbsp of ACV with 8 oz of hot water and 1 tbsp of honey to clear up a sore throat. It cleared up my throat really well and I have been taking it every day since, but I find that I can't go to sleep until the hours of 3-5 am. I am not even tired, I just am wide awake, and I usually take ACV before noon. Also, it leaves me bloated and feeling like my food is not digesting... Like I have a brick in my stomach. I don't really get hungry because of it but I force myself to eat at least 3 meals a day due to past troubles with food. Is this normal?

This problem with dry skin reminds me of a time when I had too much vitamin A from fish oil. In fact the fine print on a cod liver oil bottle warns people against takikng too much oil because of excessive Vitamin A and the problems with dry skin. I quit taking cod liver oil a year ago, so the dry skin problem is from ACV. I also take herbal tea, such as Chinese blood pressure tea and nettle tea. Do you think that these teas in combination with ACV would dry the skin? Thanks.

Hi Ruthie,
The same thing happened to me when I began taking ACV. I had too much, I think; the next day my face was dry and scaly and very itchy! So I stopped altogether and then tried it again in smaller amounts. That time I was fine. Now I usually put 2 tsp ACV with 1 tsp or so of raw honey in a 20 oz bottle shake it up. I can drink two of these in a day. Other people have said to start small and work up so your body adjusts to the changes.

We sincerily appreciate the work done by Earth Clinic and would like to make a brief comment. We have just finished reading Side Effects, under apple cider vinegar, which is under High blood pressure, which is under Ailments. We appreciate your printing all the negative testimonies from the use of apple cider vinegar.
Any normal person should be able to decide to leave this item alone. It is true that apple cider vinegar causes fermentation to take place in the stomach. Food does not digest but begins to decay and putrify, filling the blood with impurties. Liver, kidneys and heart are effected. Inflamation and many other evils are the results. What is amazing is that people will continue to use it as a healthful item after all the testimonies to the contrary that you have printed.

Am I missing something, or are there not a lot more positive Comments about ACV than there are negative ones? Can you tell us where your info. Comes from, I would love to read it for myself. I, personally, have had nothing but positive results from ACV. Appreciate your input, but I agree that it was a little condesending, negating people's positive experiences.

Say instead of feeling a bit better than usual... You broke out in a horrid rash after trying ACV... You would be MUCH more likely to come here and post to try to "warn" others, wouldn't you? I know I would!
Just let me state: I am SOLD on ACV (with the "Mother") and have been taking it every day for well over a year now. My husband is taking it too, since he saw a change in me. It is AMAZING stuff!
We take 2 TABLESPOONS of ACV with 1/4 TEAspoon of Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate) and when it stops fizzing add 6-8 oz water, and a small splash of orange juice. This is first thing EVERY morning. Just be sure to get some daily potassium, eat a banana or drink a V-8 or tomato juice every day, as the baking soda eats up your potassium.

The fact that you believe food can actually "ferment" and "decay" in the stomach displays a fundamental ignorance of the workings of body processes.
ACV has been used by a great many people for a long, long time, and there are countless positive testimonies not only here but elsewhere, online and off. As with all things, ACV may not be right for some, but your remarks are simply ludicrous.

HI U CARLEY, several years ago I switched from Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to Potassium Bicarbonate, which you can buy at most wine making supply sites. Ted has brought this up numerous times and it makes sense because you need Potassium for more than you do Sodium. It has the same effect with ACV and turns your Body Alkaline just as baking soda does.

I'm not sure who you are replying to. I personally have no idea how the body works. I'm sure I wouldnt be as sick as this if I did. Everyone is different. I've been taking Apple Cider Vinegar for a year with very little noticeable change, perhaps my lungs have cleared a little. Maybe. Yet I can read everybody seems to have got totally better on the stuff. I've been doing everything else on this site also so who knows what worked to get my lungs a little clearer. It's been suggested severe candida is at the root of a lot of my problems. But there appears to be no conclusive tests. Its crashed my adrenals, thyroid, pancreas, liver. There are web sites that say vinegar is just 1 of the things that feed candida. But perhaps the benefits outweigh the negatives. If I knew how the body worked I wouldnt be so confused about a lot of things. And theres much conflicting info on the net especially about detoxing. Ludicrous is a fairly strong word. Perhaps you know a lot. Would you have any comments on the following? Would anyone? It might help others.
1/ Ted talks about cilantro, chlorella and other agents that many say are not good for detoxing because they only have 1 thiol.
2/ How do I get the much needed choline into me when Im so allergic to eggs and soy is bad for a bad thyroid.
3/ detox baths bad? when you have poor or non working adrenals?
4/ alpha lipoic acid - is it a miracle worker too - it can also feed candida apparently??

My feet and legs were swollen when I had bad acid reflux (I have several posts about how I used raw manuka honey to cure that). Durring that time I could not hold ANYTHING down without puking. As a result I became very dehydrated and my body was retaining water. Once I was getting better I noticed my ankles were swollen as thick as my calves usually are.: Once the reflux was under control and my esophagus was mostly healed (about third day of 1 tsp manuka on small piece of rice bread 20 min b4 meal) I began to rehydrate.
I also used an old trick from back when I played soccer to drain acid from leg muscles, which really helped. Lay down with your butt to the wall and feet straight up (as close to 90 degrees as you can get) and stay down there reading a book for about 20 minutes (or as long as you can take). then do calf stretches once you come down (feet may feel "asleep; Basically I would guess you also are dehydrated and retaining water. A basic rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight pounds in ounces (100 pounds=50 oz/day), and I still like the soccer trick for any leg soreness especially after very long walks/hikes: just generally to the nay sayers the most important thing in regards to health of the human body is BALANCE.
If you read Ted's posts carefully he always trys to identify what is out of balance and offer ways to correct that. So you first must understand the correct balance (for the four minerals ALL cells contain- potassium, magnesium, calcium, Salt - and of course water which all body cells are largely composed of - and of course the general ph in body - ph of saliva and ph of urine - this lets you know whether you are too acidic like many in U. S. Or too alkaline[if that is possible], the goal is an alkalaine environment inside. And one more thing I picked up from this site is the outer mantle of skin prefers acidic evvironment (i. E. oils) to protect inside of the body (see BO remedies; I apologize if this seems like I'm rambling, but I feel the basics are becoming clear to me now. I love this site and reccomend it to all I truly care about.
