I found also with chamomile tea its greatest effects are after you use the tea bag and squeeze the liquid out it's great to put the tea bag on one eye then the other as it cleans and strengthens the eyes. Good Luck.
Cured: Viral Conjunctivitis
I bought teabags with chamomile flowers listed as the only ingredient.
I boiled around 1 cup of water, then floated the teabags in there for about 2 minutes and removed from heat.
Allowed the tea to cool until it was just warm to the inside of my wrist. Then I dipped cotton balls 1 time only per piece into the tea and used this to remove the "gunk". Next, I took the teabags while still warm and placed them over my eyes and covered them with a clean towel.
This seemed to soothe the swelling of my eyelids and dried up a lot of the discharge.
I had this condition for about 4 days and was using antibiotic drops until I went to an opthalmologist who diagnosed it as viral. That's the point where I stopped using drops and started using the teabags. I have been doing this for a day and a half and my eyes are pink instead of red with just a little discharge now, and no more swelling, pain, or itchiness. I feel like I will probably be completely over this by tomorrow.
make some chamomile tea and wash the eyes out with it every so often with a cotton ball this helps very much
Relaxation, Settles the Stomach, Revives Blonde Hair
I find it relaxing to drink a cup of camomille tea and it does help settle the stomach. My hair is sort of blonde but in the summer it has no shine due to the sun. A rinse with camille tea will revive the colour natural and not expensive. What a web site! Sue
Stomach Spasms, Nausea, Sleep
Chamomile capsules are great for stomach spasms and nausea. I also found that if I take 2 capsule 30 minutes before going to sleep, I get t a great night of sleep. Taking capsules is better than drinking a cup of strong tea at night so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
I use chamomile tea whenever I get an abscessed tooth. I wet a chamomile tea bag with warm water (so the cold doesnt hurt me) and put it between the gum and cheek where the abscess is. It seems to me that chamomile pulls the infection right out. After about 10 minutes I start to feel relief from the pain and swelling. I have tried other teas, and chamomile works the best for me.
I'm responding to the claim that black tea cures an upset stomach. Whenever I drink black tea, I always develop painful gas and bloating and sometimes diarrhea. My grandmother said she has the same problem and that it may be caused by tannins in the tea. Maybe some people just aren't able to break down the chemicals? What does help me when i get a "gas attack" is to get on my knees and stick my butt in the air, focusing on relaxing my abdominal muscles. The posture is a bit ridiculous, but it does help expel the gas after a couple minutes. For an upset stomach, i make a tea of grated ginger, chamomile or mint or a combination. To that I add organic milk and honey.
