I recently had ringworm on my temple. I washed it with hydrogen peroxide over a two day period. It then dissipated.

False Ringworm
Posted by Southern Belle (California) on 01/14/2018

omg I feel ya, I had this blister big one, size tip of pinky about 1/8th of an inch deep, itched like crazy! Went to dr oooh for months, same thing over and over athletes foot, well, finally my mom took me to my aunts office a dr's office yeaaah!, well by this time I had blisters on both feet and it moved up to my hands, he said now tell me if this hurts and I'll stop but I need to scrape these for a culture ....ooooo I was in awwwhh, asking please don't stop! He laughed we waited in the office and he came back within minutes and said I've never seen fungus grow this fast it was white and spreading up the sides of the vile! In minutes!!! Diagnosis? well fungal infection that started due to living on a yaht and carpets get wet, dry, wet, damp, dry etc!

It took me 3 days shy of 1 year to get rid of it and to this day 30yrs later I still get these tiny blisters on the sides of my fingers, what was horrible is that these blisters where coming from inside out you could see them bubbling out of the little hole's eeww like beach clams!, and I now am allergic to all antibiotics except septra, I didn't care I took the last bottle of antifungal pills, that was their last attempt, what happened to add to it I had an allergic reaction to the infection which caused another, add-on which I had a severe allergic reaction on top of it was 3 high of reactions, my feet turned black! And I now have a ring worm ...which is a fungal infection and am terrified that it's turning into the same thing.

and to add to curiosity, my son's fiance is pregnant and the resulting hormones caused valley fever to surface, they induced coma, it went from one lung to another, in days I made her go to hospital, I knew she had pneumonia, when she said her chest hurt, she's been from one hospital then flown by chopper to stanford, last few days is first time, she's eaten, walked few steps at a time but it's a deadly disease most go unnoticed but she was litterally dying and its got a 60% death rate in AZ. in previous studies 1 year there was approx 2,200 cases, in the following year 22,000+ cases!

so I'm wondering if there is any relation tho is said not to cross or jump but the ringworm I got omg I've never seen chit like that but her kids have had it a few times, and think possibly I got it from their house. I actually was freaked out for days thinking it was an actual bug under my skin, theres my phobia BUGS! I've had bleach bath's doc said don't use this cream for more than 5 more days! So I didn't and the bottoms of my feet look like wax paper and then that itch if I had a black'n decker i'd be on high speed with one! Lol, but now ...omg this on top of everything else ...just ducky! I am in love with this site I've been reading for hours!

bleach and I'm making list of other remedies! Thanks!!

Please, could you share how to do the oil mix? How much oil and essential oils drops do you mix? Ringworm is so common where I live. Thanks :)

Bar Soap
Posted by Alex (Latin America) on 10/09/2017

I've been doing this for a few days, I also use an undecilenic acid cream mixed with Vicco Turmeric cream at night (the infection is in my hand, so the cream would gets ashed away if I apply it during the day), and it seems to be working very well.
I'm amazed at the results, and I'm hoping that after several years, I can finally get cured.
Thank you for sharing.

Apple Cider Vinegar, MMS

Ringworm: ACV has also worked well for me in combination with MMS foot baths. I had it on my feet. Use 20 drops MMS to 20 drops citric acid, wait until it mixes properly (dark brown) and then add it to a bowl you can soak your foot in, once a day for 10-15 minutes. Try to get the water hot, without burning yourself of course. If you have it on your body you can also take a bath (use 30 drops instead). Or you can apply it as a spray (use 10 drops in 1/2 cup water). For very severe cases where nothing seems to be working MMS might just come in very handy. It's very affordable.

ALWAYS use MMS diluted with water, never by itself.

Nail Polish
Posted by Alex (Latin America) on 09/30/2017

KT, I sincerely appreciate it that you took the time to offer me advice.

I tried the Miconazole and, unfortunately, it didn't work.

I've been using undecilenic acid + zinc for almost two years (I know, I shouldn't be using it so long) to keep it “under control”, meaning that the infection is there but it doesn't spread.

After I started using the Miconazole Nitrate, I obviously stopped with the other one, that's when the infection spread, and within two days it covered my whole wrist as well as part of my arm.

So I went back to the undecilenic cream, and now it's back to “normal"; it's not visible, but the moment I stop applying it, it grows back.

I'm of course sad that it didn't work, but at least I tried.

Apple Cider Vinegar and a Penny

Soak a penny in apple cider vinegar for at least 30 minutes and place on ringworm. Cover with a cotton ball that has also been dipped in the vinegar and tape. Leave overnight. As a wrestling coach who sees this frequently, I've found this treatment to have the quickest results.

Garlic

Garlic is strong but didn't work for my ringworm.

I mixed fresh garlic with coconut oil, applied it every day to my wrist (where the infection was) and I thought it was working because the skin felt like it was burning.

The smell was very strong too, so I believe I used a generous amount, but after a couple of weeks I gave up because it didn't really do anything to cure it or make it smaller.

Sunlight

I read somewhere that ringworm thrives in dark damp places. I put direct sunlight on it...all that was needed was maybe 2-3 mins of direct sunlight over several days. The sooner you do it the quicker it'll heal. The cream really wasn't quick enough at all.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil, applied only twice a day not only made the itch go away instantly, but the ringworm went too, in about a couple of weeks. (this was skin ringworm, a proper little circle on my tummy). Same place, same thing for my daughter, tea tree worked again).

I wish my son's scalp healed from it too,, but it's more complicated this time I'm afraid.

Shampoo Brush, Coconut Oil

Hi Robyn, it s been a few years,, did you manage to get rid of it? We're now struggling with the same, big bald spot on my 5 year old son's head..working with nizoral shampoo, apple cider vinegar, neem oil with tea tree in it..didn't want to start giving him the drug that the doctor described.so just thought I d ask how the natural approached worked for your boys..?

Nail Polish
Posted by KT (Usa) on 07/17/2017

Dear Alex,

When our daughter picked up ringworm I was advised by our nurse practitioner that ringworm is the same fungus as ladies' yeast infections. Get some Miconazole Nitrate and try that.

Nail Polish
Posted by Alex (Latin America) on 07/16/2017
★☆☆☆☆

I tried this and the nail polish just flaked and sent contaminated fragments all over the room. It only seemed to make it bigger and the area more irritated.

I couldn't get the dry polish off completely so I just kept spreading it everywhere for a couple of days.

Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil

Apple Cider Vinegar/Coconut oil for ringworm:

It's the only thing that made the fungus tingle, but it didn't cure it.

Drinking 2 table spoons of ACV with honey in a cup of water made the fungus look much drier.

Coconut oil rubbed directly into it made it seem less apparent, it also burnt more than any other thing that I have ever applied to it.

Also, I mixed coconut oil with borax (1:1 ratio with solidified coconut oil), the results were good but only temporary.

Turmeric, Bicarb Soda, Coconut Oil Paste

Sadly this didn't work for me. Maybe because I've had it for a very long time.

I'm currently using a turmeric pomade (it has sandalwood and I bought it for something else) and it seems to be working when mixed with Derman fungus cream.

Bleach
Posted by Alex (Latin America) on 07/16/2017
★★☆☆☆

I tied various concentrations but in the end it didn't work. I used bleach that has nothing else in it because I heard there are other kinds with other chemicals that can burn the skin.

I applied it for over a month, twice a day, for about 1 hour, then washed it off and applied Lamisil.

It dried the skin, it seemed to make Lamisil work slightly better, but in the end it didn't work.

Menthol and Wormwood Oil
Posted by Angie (Canada) on 03/27/2017

Update - it wasn't ringworm after all. This was confirmed by a visit to the dermatologist's office. The nurse practitioner gave me a treatment to soothe the symptoms, and this is what really worked for me as I waited for it (pityriasis rosea) to fade away.

It was a mistake to self-treat, it only made things worse by causing scarring that took a very long time to go away. I think it can be wise to get a diagnosis and consult a doctor if you can before any self-treatment.

Seriously have been suffering with this spreading for months. Now, two days after finding this post and using clear nail polish it's showing dramatic results! At this rate it will be gone within a couple more days. Who would've thought?

Chloroxylenon

Oh my goodness gracious. I suffered from ringworm for a month and a half. I tried anything and everything that I could think of to get rid of it. I tried antifungal creams, tea tree oil, coconut oil, antifungal prescription pills, chlorine dioxide with DMSO, and nothing seemed to help. It had spread to almost my entire body. I was contemplating on quitting my job. Then I read this review on the earthclinic website about Dettol antiseptic liquid. I was able to purchase it at my local international market, called Lee Lee's market. It was in the India section. I diluted it with half water and put it on once a day with cotton balls. After that, I rubbed borax on it, let it dry, and sprayed it with antifungal spray. After the skin dried out, after a few days, it started peeling off and I stopped putting the antifungal powder spray on it. After two weeks of using dettol and borax, it was gone. Every few days, I use dettol and borax to make sure it doesn't come back. Thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever posted about Dettol. You seriously saved my life. I was about to go crazy.

Iodine

One of the easiest quickest and cheapest way I've ever found to treat ringworm and athletes foot is iodine. Not the kind you get at the pharmacy but 7%. You get at a farm supply or feed store for use on farm animals. Human iodine is I think 3%. Those are both fungal infections so not positive on mange if it's from a mite but worth a shot.

Dietary Changes

I suffered for 2 full years with ringworm infections and I tried many of the remedies on this site and found some temporary relief from itching but they never went really away. I hope I can help someone. What gave me full relief and healing was this:

- Quit having regular sugar, replaced with stevia in my drinks and meals

- Diminish intake of flour

- Bought me a good fruit extractor (Nutribullet) and had about 16 ozs of vegetable juice twice a day morning and before going to bed. (carrots, whole lime/lemon, celery, ginger, water) . I did try it sometimes with beets and spinach but they had those ingredients for the most part.

- For the itching I used " Blue Star " ointment.

After about 2-3 weeks I started seeing great results until they completely dissapeared.

For maintenance I kept the juices only once a day, every night right before going to bed.

Magnesium Oil

I want to report a method I used that worked on ringworm - magnesium 'oil' - which is actually magnesium chloride salt in water- or brine - but they call it oil because magnesium chloride attracts water so strongly that it never evaporates as you rub it into the skin, so it feels like oil. I have apple cider vinegar, but didn't find this site until later, so I didn't know about it. I had that magnesium oil (not the expensive one) and it cleared it up after one or two applications. (I didn't pay attention) I just used like 5-6 sprays of the stuff, enough to coat the chest. I wish I had payed more attention, as it was so easy and quick!

Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil

I have been using apple cider vinegar to treat ringworm on my leg. I tried lamisil, but it just seemed to make the area hot and more irritated. In addition I have used coconut oil. I apply the apple cider vinegar twice a day with a cotton swab...almost 4 ounces a day on an area about 4"x4". I apply coconut oil once a day in the evening to the area. I keep the area of my leg covered when out in the sun and working in the heat of the day. It is clearing up much more quickly than using the over the counter remedy.

DMSO, Oregano Oil

I'm a gardener with a couple of raised beds and a sweet potato patch out behind the shed. My problem is bandicoots, a protected species. Nothing much growing now in winter here.

HI U SUSEEQ,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'm not an expert in this area but use hydrogen peroxide in my water bed. The reason rain water is better for your plants is that it contains H2O2 it acquires by falling through Ozone in the atmosphere. I also use an aerator in my water bed where I start most of my plants and then transfer them to a pot or directly to the garden. You can over do H2O2.

Our Bill Munro healed himself and then began using H2O2 in his garden. He wrote up his trails on the internet.

Dear ORH,

I think you are the only gardener on this site. I was just wondering have you ever used hydrogen peroxide on your plants and vegs if so what results have you had, I tried it on a potted begonia about a month ago and I am pleased with the results. It's winter here and the begonia looks brighter and seems to look healthier, I know that's it early days but I will leave it for a while and see what happens.

Rubbing Alcohol
Posted by Some Guy (Las Vegas, Nv) on 06/09/2016

Alternating 91% alcohol and ACV worked for my jock itch which is ringworm. Diligent generous applications daily/2x for about 3 weeks worked to slowly get rid of it. I now think I have it on my scalp and beard but the fumes from washing them in alcohol make it inappropriate to treat a large area. Possibly have residual excema conditions along with it. I have tried all OTC nuetragena products, rose hip oil, occasional ACV, and some concoction of all of them...to no avail and left with dry skin. I am now using tea tree and it seems to only control the symptoms. Scalp is tough to treat once it starts to spread. Dabbing alcohol seems to help on my beard and hairline where I can see the red patches of dry skin but alcohol does not kill spores (acv supposedly does).
