Sea Salt

I had a red raised itchy rash. I tried all the stuff dermatologist suggested.none of it worked. I went home and put some 1 teaspoon sea salt in about a cup of really warm water, so the salt dissolves. Then I took a shower right before getting out. I poured the salt water over the rash let that part of my body just air dry and the rash was gone within three days.

Sun Rash Remedies

Regarding a rash after exposure to the sun. My mother in law had this for years and my son inherited it also.

Fortunately I had a good pediatrician and he supplied the remedy. It is a B complex vitamin deficiency causing it...according to the good Dr.

His prescription: eat more protein (he said meat) and because it was a genetic thing, also take a liquid B-12 B complex vitamin under the tongue each morning. The body also needs vitamin C to process the B vitamins properly. We used Emergency C as couldn't find a B-12 combo that included vitamin C.

Results? Son and Mother in Law cured. Living in the sunshine state (Florida) this was a blessing for her.

Something to think about.

Castor Oil, Lanolin

My daughter had a rash below her nose/above her lip. It was red, dry, and embarrassing to her. She had had a cold, so I thought it was a rash from a runny nose. But the cold was long gone and the rash remained.

We tried several things before we came upon our solution.

Over the winter, I had mixed equal parts of lanolin and castor oil. (I melted the lanolin a bit and mixed in the castor oil.) The resulting salve is still quite greasy, but easier to apply than lanolin or castor oil alone. I used this on my son's very chapped hands at night and they would be so much better in the morning. So, my daughter used this mixture on the rash each night and it healed up quite nicely in a few days.

Dear Tusshay,

If the rash intensified, I would probably try a different remedy. Extra Virgin Coconut oil, perhaps. If you want to describe your rash more, some here may have ideas for what you might try.

Update for my underarm rash. My rash came back worse than ever. I started using Ted's remedies daily for nail fungus (ACV & hydrogen peroxide mixture, apply for 10 min.; then chlorox bleach, apply for 10 min.; then tea tree oil). This would keep my rash somewhat in check. Also I was washing underarms with Ivory soap. I still had the rash, but I was able to keep it in check so it wouldn't hurt so bad. While visiting a friend, I used his soap (Irish Spring) in the shower. It stung like hell, so I figured it was doing some good. I've been using Irish Spring soap on my underarms, usually twice daily. Seems like the toxic chemicals in Irish Spring has cured my underarm rash problems.

Question for Louwrence Rustenburg, South Africa: how much THC oil is used for the rash? Is it used topical or internal? If drops are used, how many drops? Thx.

Coconut oil has stopped the itching of several rashes I've had. I spread it on very liberally several times a day or as needed. It has also helped my itchy ears.

Underarm Rashes

Lavilin is a good solution if you have underarm rashes. It's an all-natural deodorant that apparently does wonders for sensitive skin. Haven't had a rash in months!

Just dropped in for some advice about a rash. ACV, no more itch. I don't know why it didn't occur to me, as the little dog gets a hot spot under his chin, every once in a while, and all I have to do is spray some ACV on a cotton ball and touch it once. Which is a good thing, because one chance is all I get, LOL! One touch and he's off like a shot! But the hot spot is dry the same day and gone the next. So I just dampened a paper towel with water, sprayed on some ACV, dabbed it on, no more itch! I used a damp paper towel so I wouldn't have to do the ouchy, ouchy, ouchy dance, LOL. Didn't feel anything but the coolness of it! Yeah! LOVE you guys!! Thanks again!!

Colloidal Silver

My 8 year old son had a spot on his earlobe that was weepy and red. Likely it was a bug bite that he scratched and it got infected with staph or impetigo (which is a staph infection). Whatever it was, it was infected in some way. I began to spray Colloidal Silver on it 2-3 times a day. In 24 hours I could see that it was improving. It has been a few days and now it looks all healed up. I used 20 ppm Colloidal Silver because that was what was in a little spray mister. I would have used a stronger ppm, but the 20 was just sitting there waiting to be used and it worked well. I will spray once a day for a few more days just in case.

Itchy Rash on Foot Remedies

I have an itchy rash on top of my foot for past few months. Initially I thought it was poison ivy but when it didn't go away, I researched on the net and decided maybe it was athlete's foot. I tried soaking my foot in a bleach and water solution every 3-4 days. Did not help. I then tried wiping turpentine on the rash twice a day after reading it was effective for fungal conditions. Unfortunately, the turpentine made the rash spread to the bottom of my foot! Finally I showed it to a friend who said it looked like psoriasis to him. I applied a coal tar formula from the pharmacy yesterday and the rash is disappearing in a few hours.

Mama to Many, once you have a soap that "works", front loader washing machines clean WAY better than top loaders, in my experience.

Dear Om,

I have heard of soap berries/soap nuts but never tried them. I have spent years trying different laundry cleaning options with not much success. My husband and sons do a lot of construction and farm work. Their clothes get super sweaty and worse at times. :) I find my biggest problem is that I have had a front load washing machine. They use a lot less water and I find it much harder to get the clothes clean without enough water.

That said, I will try the soap berries with your recommendation. I am excited to have an option you have suggested. Thanks so much!

Mama to Many --- have you ever used soap berries (or soap nuts) ? I am very impressed. They are very economical and a little goes a long way. There are good sites on the web and very useful info. I have used them for dish washing and laundry and bathing cats..

Important is to get the ones from Nepal which are the best. They are also good for shampoo as they are anti bacterial and anti fungal. They only create suds when shaken in a bottle but no need to rinse dishes; they are shiny and clean. The laundry machine is clean after use, no scum etc. I had bought mine years ago when I re discovered them and they work like a charm. Important is not to use too many berries at once as they issue tons of soap. One must buy berries that have had the seeds removed. A great way to safe $$! Namaste, Om

Hi She, does "etc, etc.... You name it, " include probiotics and/or turmeric internally and zinc oxide ointment externally? And are you 100% gluten-free?

Posted by Mama To Many (Tennessee) on 05/04/2014

Dear She,

Sorry about the rash lasting so long! I agree with Debbie that a different soap might be good try try. Also, have you tried washing clothes only with baking soda in case you are reacting to detergent? I have read that the "free and clear" type detergents aren't always that great. (Although, that is what I use for my family and have no problems with it.) Also try natural deodorants if you haven't already.

You can use turmeric for the boils. 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day in whole milk. A little black pepper will make it work better.

Borage Oil has helped me a ton with rashes that won't clear up with anything else. 3000 mg daily. I had spent a year trying to cure a rash with topicals. Within a few days of the internal Borage Oil, the rash was improving and in a couple of weeks the rash was gone. It was amazing.

My son once had a rash under his arms that cleared up well with a calendula salve You can make a tea from calendula and chamomile and put it on a cloth and put against the rash a couple of times a day. This has worked very well for a few rashes in my house.

I hope you find relief soon! Let us know how it goes...

You might try using Lava soap bar for rash. It helped me get rid of my Redman Syndrome as well as the rash on my husband's leg. The soap has no perfumes and it seems to work as a great anti-bacterial soap.

Calamine Lotion

I recently started working out at a gym. When I work out, I get extremely hot and sweaty, especially the back of my neck where the hair is shorter and comes loose from my pony tail. I started noticing a itchy, prickly, stinging feeling during my workouts on the nape of my neck. Then I developed this raised, scaly, itchy, bright pink rash. It started to spread down my back. I tried ACV, coconut oil, anti-bacterial cream, tea tree oil. Nothing was helping with the itch and it continued to spread. This had been going on for about 3 weeks. Finally I bought some calamine lotion and a product that is cornstarch and calamine that you sprinkle on like baby powder. Voila! After about 3 days the rash is nearly gone! I've also been using the calamine lotion and powder around the folds of my ears, which have been itching me like crazy for years and it is really helping to control the itch there too.

Diet

I was sick for over a year, had many tests and even a food allergy test scratch test and blood test and then my ND told me those tests were only 50% accurate, I had a rash off and on and just general itchy skin, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea weight loss, brain fog fatigue, weakness, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and wheezing, I thought I was on my way out in fast order, The elimination diet was suggested and I did it, Elimination diet is just rice, chicken, turkey lamb, all vegetable except night shades, I was also allowed onions and garlic, of course water and olive oil blueberries and pear that is all I ate for two weeks then I reintroduce one food at a time wheat for 1/2 day and see how I feel then back on the diet for 3 1/2 days then soy 1/2 of day, then back on diet for 3 1/2 days then dairy, corn , sugar, citrus etc...this diet helped so much to figure out the cause of all my symptoms an it is best to stop all gluten for at least six months to really see a turn around . I also did a long term gentle parasite cleanse with colonics. These things all turned my life around . I would suggest elimination diet to anyone suffering with rashes.

I don't know why folks say stop the chemo. In my case, I'm not the one taking it but I am the one trying to fix the things I have control over. My loved one chose chemo. I just want to know how to relieve/ease his pain. Also, you can't undo a lifetime of bad influences just by starting today to take good care of yourself. My loved one was exposed to agent orange, asbestos, jet fuel, starvation as a pow--I'm just trying to make his last year(s) comfortable.

That's harmless obviously and a beautiful cure. I just want to help at least one person if I can't help the whole world :)

Elizabeth - it could be your laundry detergent. It happened to me - as the day wore on, I'd get itchier and itchier all over. This went on for about 2 years. I finally tried an all natural detergent in lieu of my beloved Tide ... problem solved!

Apple Cider Vinegar
Posted by Dave (Fountain Inn, Sc) on 03/15/2014

Hey Elizabeth,

I have seen success by using coconut oil applied topically. You might also make sure you are getting some internally.

Lots of causes to skin itching. Lack of minerals to chronic liver issues or kidneys not functioning properly; and taking medication the body is allergic to.

No nausea...right? If poisoning, you'd likely find organ issues and I'm presuming there are not other serious matters going on.

Could be something you are allergic to ... clothes you are wearing being washed with a perfumed soap.

What foods might you be allergic to? Since this is during the day...later in the day, it sounds like something you are around or consuming during the day and then the reaction occurs.

Keep trying out by process of elimination. You'll figure it out.

Had an awful rash on the back of my neck. It started out as heat rash but because I kept rubbing it against my clothes and my hair which has hair product, it got itchier and itchier. Finally I came to Earth Clinic where everyone said ACV is the cure.

NOPE! It only made my skin worse and the rash spread from the back of my neck to the front. Now I looked terrible and the rash was painful. So I figure if ACV is the cause then the opposite must be the cure.

I took some coconut oil and baking soda and made a paste. Put that all over the rash and let it set for about five minutes. It stung and burned but I was already suffering from the ACV treatments which were worse.

Well I took a shower, washed away all residue of the paste and gently dried my skin. Once it dried it was very DRY. The rash was already healing from drying out. That night it crusted over with scabs and today my skin is still dry and by tomorrow I should be able to peel the scabs away. Hope so because the scabs are stiff and look horrible.

Thank goodness I didn't keep up with the vinegar thinking it will work eventually. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. I just want people to know that if you have a bad reaction to something STOP and rethink the situation. Don't just keep going because other people said it works for them.

Anyway, the type of skin irritation I had didn't take to ACV, but ACV still works for other ailments for me.

Olive Oil

I got a terrible rash once, and even aloe vera I tried to put on it to moisturize stung. That's how irritated the rash and the skin were. The only thing mild enough that my poor skin could take was olive oil. I have the extra virgin organic kind. I also read on PubMed that olive oil is anti-bacterial and possibly anti-fungal.

So, if you, like me, are too sensitive even to 100% Aloe Vera and it burns on top on your rash, try olive oil instead. It will soothe an moisturize.

Response to rash after sun. I have this as well. Never had a problem when I was younger. Fibro/chronic fatigue has brought on many other nastys along with the sun allergic reaction. If you get 'water zit's' with exposure. Population varied and tied with duration of and intensity of sun. The itch can be controlled with allergy/sinus tabs. Also getting a good base of tan in a safe manner slowly minimizes reaction. I did however have a severe problem vacationing in Cozumel. Fun overshadowed caution and came down with sever swelling of entire face in butterfly fashion. No, never a positive on Lyme or lupus. Fluconazole relieves the symptoms along with chest rash, psoriasis like pores on arms. Strange pores on neck following skin folds / creases, dandruff snow, white nasal, lymphs the size Texas etc.. etc... etc...

Lastly my polio vaccination scar has morphed into a keloid type scar which was normal til the change to no health. I think they never fixed polio. Their caveman immunizations just moved the polio type bug into a unchallenged Frankenstein critter the human body has no defense or poor defense over along with Frankenstein food from Swanson kfc Denny's BKing. A pinch of GM food, flour stripped of all good. DNA altered, juiced with drug cocktails monster cows. Drugstores, banks, bars, gas stations rule the street corners. Seems they are keeping us sick, weak and slaves of their energy..... I better stop.... Livin in the united corporations of america.
