Natural Lung Infection Treatments: Herbal & Homeopathic Guide

My pulmonologist is 90% sure I have MAC lung disease, but we are still waiting for the results of the sputum test. I have a history of digestive problems and am still fighting with serious problems in that area. Because of that I really don't think I can handle the 3 antibiotic treatment. My Naturopath recommended using colloidal silver in a nebulizer- 1ml in distilled water twice a day.

My pulmonologist said it could take 3 months before I see any improvement with the antibiotics and I know natural remedies usually take longer than drugs. I've already started using the silver. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this treatment? If so, how long did it take to improve and what does did you use?

I'm a 64 year old woman, 5'8" and weigh 90 pounds, not because I like being skinny, I'm just that sick.

Well, I'm back for more questions. I was doing my food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide without diluting it and it burn my throat. I started to dilute it with distilled water, but it still burns. I stop doing it for a while so my throat would get better. I want to start doing it again, but my throat still hurts. It could be because I cough a lot from my lung problems. I do 3drops of hp and 35 drops of distilled water. Can I do the brown bottle from the store instead of the food grade? The brown bottle is 3% to. I do it in my nebulizer. Food grade, or brown bottle? Also, I drink aloe vera juice. I make it at home. I like to know if it is okay to do both, but at different time. Nebulizer in the morning and an hour later my aloe vera. I'm tried of going in and out of the hospital. Too much antibiotics. Aloe Vera did help my lungs 2 years ago. A lot of prayer helps me too.

I use the brown bottle peroxide with distilled water in the nebulizer.

I think taking aloe internally an hour after nebulizing peroxide and distilled water would be fine.

If you perchance have a mycoplasma infection in your lungs then H2O2 therapy may help; and as for general "cleansing" Nebulized H2O2 will help.

As for "healing" lungs that are not infected, here is a list of nutrients that will help and maybe cure.

1. Zinc & Vit-A are very important for the integrity and repair of Lungs

I have recently been experiencing good results for the strengthening of the lungs w/ merely 1 cap Schizandra Berry per day. I was taking S for liver health and noticed the improvement in lungs. I also supplement Iodine.

Taurine is great for detoxing chlorine. After adding swimming to my daily workout a few years back I would start sneezing aggressively and repeatedly after a few laps. Therefore your iodine -- which consists of 0.44 gm iodine in 0.66 gm KI in 100 mls of water is about 0.5% LI strength very approximately because the additives are approx 1/10 the quantity of those in the last paragraph in the same 100 mls of water.

I have successfully bought Lugol's from the Wellness Center -- but if you buy from this source do not tell them you are using it orally. They nearly refused to sell LI to me when I told them I was using it orally.

These are the only sources I know about because I live on Luzon. This probably wont help you much because you live on Capiz in the south. You can also buy off the internet from sulit(dot)com or classifiedads(dot)ph but this is generally much more expensive than buying from a shop. If you need Iodine badly for a thyroid disorder, the other option you have would be to eat seaweed mixed in with rice and soup at mealtimes like the Japanese do it. I can buy a kilo of seaweed from the market where I live for only 20 pesos (50 cents American). This is buy far the cheapest way to naturally supplement larger amounts of iodide/iodine.

Northern Europe has been adversely affected as a result of a volcano eruption in Iceland (note - Iceland not Ireland) and until today the most affected have been those travelling by airline as the volcanic ash has been high and airplanes cannot travel through it. I am dealing with pain in the left lung lobe and am finding nebulizing bicarb, water/silver, tea tree and eucalyptus oils amazing for opening the lungs up so you can breathe again. I am working on mold issues which has come from suspected MARCONS -multiple antibiotic resistant coagulase negative Staphloccoci. So to make about a half a cup you take 120 mL and divide that by five that equals 20

120-20 is 100

So 100 mL of water then add 20 mL of (12%) H2O2 to that equals 2%

A few months back due to environmental problems I had picked up lung infection, which under normal medical treatment they said clinically I have nothing wrong, so I did not take any treatment. The symptoms which were bothering me were low grade temp. max 99 and dry cough. Life was going on, the other day after three day's swimming ( I had read that swimming improves the lung capacity which did help me ) I developed earache in the right ear. I used some ear drops and that came under control and at the same time I took Colloidal silver one tea spoon in 200 ml water, my lung problem there was great relief but I have started running high temp. like 101.8 and to subside that I have to take Brufen which is also bringing lot of weakness, so all my sporting activities have come to stand still.

You have probably got a lung infection. Ask your doctor for a course of amoxicilin. Then when it's finished, take cayenne and garlic. Then reduce the smoking down to 5 a day.

Hello Linda, You'd use the DMSO the same as the colloidal silver which you say did not help. Put DMSO... A tablespoon... In a cup and add purified water, same amount. Place in nebulizer. Deeply breath in steam for a minute. Don't overdo the first time while you evaluate the effect. DMSO on skin can cause irritation so that is why you dilute it. If no irritation, hours later do the same thing but inhale deeply for a few minutes. Increase only as you are convinced that you are not irritating your lungs with usage.

Now, you said the colloidal silver did not work. I have used my homemade cs successfully seven or eight times with lung infections. Not all silvers are created equally. Some silvers are VERY low ppm. And I have found many silvers are just not effective. So, I'd recommend you try a different silver.

I am presuming, by the way, that you have been checked for tumors and you are clear. Some cronic smokers are non stop hackers which may seem to be an infection but is in fact cronic irritation. The use of watermellon (a three day exercise where the system is cleansed of toxins) has been used to stop addictions. You might try that to break the smoking habit. You eat watermellon only for three days.

My lungs have recently been exposed to chemicals. They now feel heavy and just don't feel right. I wanted to know what the best way of detoxing would be. I have a disease that causes small cell lung cancer and I have CT scans done ever 3 months. I have had lung nodules for years. Out of fear the doctor had biopsies done three times. They came back negative. Once they couldn't find the nodule to do a biopsy. After that I decided we should take the wait and see attitude because my lungs are very weak and each biopsy was taking a great risk with my life. The one technician told me it isn't unusual to have nodules in your lungs and for them to disappear. I have the nodules all the time, they come and go, sometimes they enlarge and then they disappear only to have new ones show up. My advice is to just watch the nodule and see what it does.

Hi Serlche... You can buy Lysine at GNC and Healthy Options stores in the SM Malls in Cebu, Davao and Iloilo. GNC tends to be unnecessarily expensive but Healthy Options tends to be cheaper, their quality is good and their range of nutrients and supplements is much greater than GNC. If you have no SM in Roxas City, then you might be able to find a good health shop in the Gaisano Malls there.

I have never used squalene because it is also difficult to get and because it is so expensive.

It would also perhaps be a help if you told us why you want to take supplements like lugol's iodine and squalene. It's only a suggestion but if you explained your problem or symptoms then the EC community could possibly all put their heads together to help you even more to resolve any problems that you might have. I also tend to recommend wonderful and effective herbs like Chanca Piedra(Sampa-sampalukan), Heavenly Elixir(Makabuhay), Tumeric (Dilaw), Graviola (Guyabano), Neem (Nim) and Bashful Mimosa(Makahiya) etc which are all profuse and grow for free in the Philippines lowlands. But I cannot recommend any herbs for you unless you let me know what your problems and symptoms are in this respect. Hi, I been having recurrent lung infection bouts (yellow phlem with blood, sweats, extreme tiredness, increased heartbeat and shortbreath ) almost every month, now weekly.

They seem to appear when I am not getting enough sleep or I drink alcohol! I had pheumonia several years ago ( 8) but the docs said it was just a cold. Hi does anyone know whether you can take a natural antibiotic capsule made up of garlic, ginger, turmeric, and cayenne pepper on an empty stomach? I made this antibiotic myself using one tablespoon of each of these organic powders of spices and then filled the capsules myself. I am trying to get rid of something in my lungs that causes all sorts of phelgm and found out that you can make a natural antibiotic using these four spices. It just didn't give any advice as how to take it. Thanks everyone on any advice that you can give.

Why do you have to take it on an empty stomach? There isn't anything in there that's not food... I'm not convinced it would make any difference. I couldn't take them without food because of the cayenne, but I love the idea.

I have fluid on my lungs and a mass around my heart. I have lupus. And the doctors r getting ready to do a biopsy.

I served in Vietnam and within 10 years I had one lung collapsed and 8 years later the other one collapsed. Every eight years one or the other would collapse. In 2002 the right collapsed in Sept. and the left blew out. I ended up with lung sergury on both sides and basically glued to the chest.

I had the same problem; I couldn't find anything on pleurisy. I found out later that it was an ulcer. So make sure that is what you have (x-ray). I found that colloidal silver has helped every infection I have had, so try that using immunogenics brand. It's great.

I have had great success with Cramp Bark tincture for the pain associated with Pleurisy. Not only does it help the pain, it is also good for respiratory problems in general.

What do you use if your Doctor says you have lung modules in your lungs that the x-ray show?

sania, india i have bronchiectasis from last 2 years..i have thich mucus problem....infection occurs very soon...i have tried so many anti biotics...as soon as i stops infection again comes..what should i do...can anyone suggest me which wil really work..i tried homeopathy nothing works...i am just 28 yrs old...life seems like have stopped after this one lung collapse because of bronchiectasis..my other lung is healthy.....is anyone suffering from same problem ....ant suggestions....is colloidal silver will really help..how to use that ?

I have bronchiectasis too. I also have a heaviness in the bottom of my lungs which I believe is a direct result of exposure to chlorine. I have tried and am still trying colloidal silver in a nebulizer as well as h2o2 and am also using oil of oregano internally and externally. I can not verify that any of the above mentioned have made any significant difference but will continue to search for answers.

I have had bronchiectasis for 2 years. Got it from a Nocardia Bacteria. The main problem I have is extreme coughing and tremendous amount of heavy mucus. I have tried many things but as yet not found anything that helps. I would really appreciate any comments you can share witlh me as to what you did to get good results.
